Welcome back to Pluck the Day! I'm Martin Lindescoag, and after a brief hiatus, I'm thrilled to be back with you. In this episode, I delve into the intriguing world of referral marketing and affiliate programs, exploring how these can be integrated into your well-being and health journey. The concept of residual income, often misinterpreted as passive income, is discussed as a means to "pluck the day" and create diverse income streams.
I reflect on my journey since the last episode in April, sharing insights on future scheduling and goals. I also touch upon my creative process, including experimenting with AI for podcast cover art and the importance of using modern podcast apps like truefans.fm. As a critical Apple fanboy, I encourage listeners to explore new platforms beyond the legacy apps.
Throughout the episode, I highlight various tools and services that aid in podcasting, such as Podhome.fm, Captivate, and Alitu. I discuss the potential of these platforms for content creators and the importance of supporting small businesses and innovative services.
Additionally, I share my experiences with different affiliate programs and products that align with health and wellness, including TLC, LiveGood, and KokuaVida. These programs not only offer potential income but also provide valuable products that I trust and recommend.
Join me as I navigate the exciting landscape of podcasting, affiliate marketing, and personal well-being. Stay tuned for more episodes as I aim to maintain a regular schedule, bringing you insights and inspiration every fortnight. Cheers to plucking the day!

Welcome to Pluck the Day. I am Martin Lindescoag, and I'm sort of back on track. Did a trailer, first episode in April, and now it's October. So I will talk a bit about future scheduling, my goals, and so on. And, also, for this episode, it will be the topic will be referral marketing and affiliate programs. And that you could think about what's that with well-being and your health journey. And it's thinking about plucking the day, how you could get so called residual income. In other words, it's so called passive income, but you can't be passive. You have to be active anyway. Something that will come over time in a residual way as different income streams that has to be do with how you could then pluck the day. So I will go through the reflections since last time and looking forward for the future here. Talking about the note cards, I have a note card in in front of me from model 19 27.
And, so keep on keep on track here. And I'm recording here with Ollie to record, and I will come back to Ollie to referral program. Affiliate and now a content creator program. And I will start out here with taking a sip of a cup of black tea here. Cheers. And I will include that also in the future adding on, and I make an Instagram photo of this. So the note card, and I talked about the cover art that I did, and I will try to do that with AI, with the tool that I'm using. I'm playing around with that and see if I could get these hands and fingers plucking the berry or whatnot, and also to get the specification right then according to the pixels.
And this podcast is hosted by podhome.fm. And Barry, it's the founder. He has a podcast called Barry Improve, so I will go through there and check out more material and inspiration for future episodes of this podcast. And, also, he has a podcast about podcasting and there it was a recent episode about podcasting 2.0 virtual summit that we'll listen to as an inspiration for future because this podcast is value for value enabled. And I'm using new podcast apps, new modern podcast apps, not the legacy apps. So you can't find me in the regular places like Apple Podcasts. I'm a Apple fanboy, but a critical one in a way, constructive criticism.
And, also, you can find it on the popular one here in Sweden, Spotify, or former Google Podcasts. That's no more. So I want you to use a new modern podcast app or a progressive web application called truefans.fm. So another podcast that is hosted by Podhome.fm is American Plus with see here with McCormick. Let's see his name. Cole McCormick. And so I had note here on my podcast, Hot and Spicy Review, about hot sauces and spicy food and chili peppers and so on. And maybe that could be something in the future because he has started to create a podcast called Normie podcast.
Podcast for normies. And that's also how you could then you how to use pothome.fm. So you will do instructional videos, and I think that's good if you want to play around and learn how to use different features and whatnot. So I think that's a great way. And, again, as I said, I'm recording this on all the 2 record feature function, and it's pretty easy to use. And I could also use video, and you could add guests, but this is a solo show. And on Wednesday, I will talk to a representative of Aleto Jacob about a creator program. I have a referral link, affiliate link for Aleto, and I've done some sales during the years.
And now I'll look into this new content creator program. It'll be interesting to have a call and a chat with Jacob here, see the opportunities, the possibilities, and what you could do as a new media adviser recommending services for fellow podcasters out there. It's interesting here that so in the newsletter that has something with video coming up. So that will be interesting, and I follow that along. And when I was planning this episode on the tea telly, I saw a part of a dead poet society in where you get this famous expression, carpe diem, or as I prefer to say the original meaning, pluck the day.
And it's interesting to do this journey, my health journey, well-being journey, wellness. And I haven't done an episode since April, and that's been due to my situation regarding health and well-being. So this podcast will be like, you could say, intro introspection, reflection, work in progress, guide, tool, help in in a way for myself and hopefully for you as a listener also. I will come back to this newsletter that I have on Substack and that I will talk about on my last so called website, tea party dot media, and my podcast, Tea Party Media, regarding Substack and how I have been pretty successful with this segment of newsletters.
And I also have this blog that I will start writing on on medium, and I have to check that the settings there and what what to do regarding my first post there. And I will talk about Lyceum, the name Lyceum, what's standing for, and Lyceum Peripatus that I have on Twitter or X. And here, talking a little bit here now for almost 8, 9 minutes, and I want to have it short and sweet, around 15 minutes, and we'll see if it will manage this time. But and then that's why I'm thinking of my in order to do editing and postproduction and also writing show notes with links and so on. And I want to also do a new thing with chapters in future, but I haven't come around to that to find a workflow that it will work in a nice way. Maybe Pod Home here will help me with that. And also I know Captivate has done great progress and development with that feature, the chapters. So you could have when you listen to this on a new modern podcast app, you could see an image that is reflecting what I'm say saying, and it's, like, chapters like in a in a book, but this is, like, a new segment.
And in this episode, when I will talk about different affiliate programs and referral marketing and company names and products, then it could be perfect to have an image of that and link to the product or to to the company. I will find something with that and how to work work that in workflow, as I said. Maybe I could get help with that in in the future later on and find this division of labor. And that could mention that also. I will also then talk to Jim Johnson again about the jingle for this podcast. I've been thinking of it for some time, but now when I will have this regular scheduling, I will definitely do that because I like to have a jingle or to have, how do you say, a tune for your life to to find something to pluck the day. And with that, I take another sip here of tea.
Cheers. And this tea that I'm drinking recorded the episode of productivitiet in Swedish, to be productive to be productive and to drink tea. So it's a made up word in Swedish, productivitiet. So 10 minutes here into the episode. So the scheduling, and I want to have it achievable and to be able to do it and not to take too long breaks and pauses and and so I will not, you know, keep going. So on that expression in British English, I think, fortnightly, every 2 weeks in American English. And it's coming from 14 nights, so fortnightly.
And I use this word because one of the upcoming episodes here in the near future will talk about night, what you are doing in the night, during the night, sleep. And right now, it's early in the morning, and I woke up in the middle of the night. So I will talk about that sleep. It's one thing here. And with that, I will go through looking at the note card here that I have, that I will make a picture of, a photo on Instagram. So the first one here on the list on referral marketing affiliate programs is, of course, the host, pod podhome.fm. And I've talked about this guy, fellow podcaster Cole McCormick, that has started a podcast called Normie Podcast. He's doing video tutorials for Podhome, and I like that idea very much and very neat. So I did a comment there when I was in Mexico and asked if he had if he like hot and spicy food and hot sauces and so on, and he said, send me a direct message and but he's he likes that.
So that's that's great great to see. And, I will listen to one of his episodes there when he talked about the scheduling to do it every 2 weeks and to be true to himself and to be able to catch up and so on. And I feel in that similar way to but that's the thing that I say as a new media adviser, start with 1 podcast. But myself, I can't have too many for different projects and lab labbing, laboratory, testing, and so on. But this one, I really want to continue doing and testing this service, podhome.fm. I like my my main service, my main host, podcast, hosting company called Captivate.
I wanted to test out the new one, and that could be interesting to see with some of my client customers and partners that are doing different products, then Pod Home could be better fit. And then for the standard things, also, Captivate could be that it's easy to use that. And Pod Home for me is pretty new, and so it will it's great that Cole here, I'm creating a podcast for how to use Podhoom that adopt FM. And then I'm thinking of putting podpage. So that's specialized for podcasters. So I have a referral link there, and we have one for our podcast, the secular foxhole.
And it's great in in a way for SEO, for simplicity to get your podcast episode up there and generating a blog post automatically. And you can have a newsletter. You could have a feedback from listeners by an audio message, and I also like what you now you could have, like, listen to badges, like, recommendations for different podcast application that you could use. So I will update that for the secular foxhole and adding these new modern podcast applications. So the third one is all the 2 that I'm using here. All the 2 record, as I said.
And on Wednesday, I will have a chat with Jacob about this creator program. So they are developing in a new way, new direction, and that will be really interesting to see how we could work on that. So I I really look forward to this because, as I said, this is a way of generating income, but it's also a cost to use these different softwares, tools, services that I'm doing for podcasting. I have told that in the past that I have around 100, $150 per month for creating podcasts for myself and also using it for clients. And in a way, I could I want to cover that cost, and, also, I value services. I want to support app developers, especially small business operations.
So I often look at, you could say, the underdog or new alternatives and not the big ones often. Of course, there could be big one and being popular and useful, but I I want to really look into these new ones that, I could have direct, oops, dialogue with the cofounders or creators or the individuals operate operative in company. That's something to look into. And, ought to say more about that regarding all the 2. I'm using this for call recording right now, mainly for editing, and it doing all this kind of it's easy for me to use compared to other editing tools.
It's a subscription based, so it cost depend on compared to buying a program and, install it on your computer. But with that, that they have now got the following fans and loyal customers, they have developed also online community. I think it's based on on Circle, I think. I'm not sure. But so there, we have the the podcast host, Colin Colin Gray, and develop that. So that's interesting to see how I develop the service over time. So I'm really interesting again to have a chat here with Jacob of all the 2, what's in in store there for the future.
And then I keep using a service called Ringer for audio. That was the first service for long distance recording that I used, and they had their own app and still have. I've been on them for some time to talk about development and updates and so on. But it's running smoothly, and it's easy to use for my cohost and myself and for guests. So I will stick with it. Those who are having backups if something will happen. That's why I started with Boomcaster, and I listened to follow podcaster there that's working on Captivate. And Danny Brown, and he recommended this service, and I looked into it and got a good connection with Harry Ware, founder.
And I really like the service, and I see lots of things that you could do with it. Again, there would be needed recommended to have this video tutorials, blog posts, maybe a known podcast talking about this, how we could use the service, and also looking on what that you focus on your own service. But, of course, having a business intelligence see what's out there in market, and I will talk about that on my podcast, Tea Party Media. I know that Eileen Smith have been talking about that. She is the queen of, you could say, live streaming and video and YouTube and all of that.
Cheers. And there have been some players on the market and have been some mergers and things were happening, so it's interesting to see how this will play out. Because, for example, live streaming video, I think, will be more and more popular and interesting. I'm a, in a way, hardcore audio guy. I like that format, and I'm comfortable with it, but I see potential and opportunities with live, like a live item tag and also live streaming and video component for for different reasons and different things. So then my main podcast host is Captivate, and I moved that before that, I had many of my podcasts on Libsyn, liberated syndication, and they recently got a new president there and CEO. So that would be interesting to see how that will work and fascinating to to see where it's one of the old time players were out there, and we'll see what's what's going on there in in the future. But I liked the Libsyn. I like I listened to the feed now and then. But for cost reasons, because it cost it was pretty cheap to have this main standard account. I think at that time, it was, like, 5, $10.
But then you had it was very basic statistics and so on, and you had a certain amount that you could upload. It was a file size and how long. So if you have several podcasts, it will adding up. So then on Captivate, you could have several podcasts on the same account, And when they look, the cost varies, how many downloads you have, and I haven't hit that, you could say, threshold. So that's why I used them and also to see that they were a new player and what they have with development and how they grow, different features and support with the customers.
So I am for friendly competition, and it's good that there are different podcast hosting there. And it's a message to podcast hosting companies out there to look into podcasting 2.0 initiative because that, I think, will be the unique selling point in different ways and service. And with Captivate, then I could cover cost in different ways. I will add this new feature that they have, Spark AI, to help you with this artificial intelligence, so to speak. A robot that will look into your material, your content, giving suggestions for, like, titles for episodes, summaries, excerpts, transcripts, but also come up with new ideas for future and upcoming, forthcoming episodes.
And I also this chapter thing, I will see what I could do with that. So but I really looking forward to and it's smart because then, in a way, you get this service not for free because you should pay for it, and that's the thing with the transcripts. It it cost with transcripts. Still, it's getting cheaper and cheaper compared with what's going on in AI and other so on, but it has to be generated, and it takes time and resources and energy. So when you pay for that, it's about, like, a buck or a dollar per hour or something like that or per per episode or whatnot. So I think around $5 extra per per month then. And talking about AI, I am life changer of a company called TLC, Total Life Changes, and they have come up with a service, a product that you could use in a handy dandy way with AI. So they are using the different AI tools out there, chat, GPT, and others, and also for image creators.
And in a nice dashboard settings, you could for a non techie person, you could have a nice layout, and you could save it there and and so on. And, also, you could refer others to it that are not tricky and to to get it in one place. So I want to look into that more and test out, but it'll take some time, and I will come back. I have a gut feeling here regarding TLC that I will test here later on today, and that's a a product there that I got the sample from from a friend. So I will test that and see if that could be one product to recommend.
Another company that I'm been for some time now is that I'm an affiliate member of LiveGood, and it's a membership club. And there you have a purchasing power. It's more than a 1 and a half 1000000 members right now. And in the near future, it will come a survey, health survey, wellness, the question about your well-being, wellness, and so on. So that will be really interesting to see to get this conversation and refer good products to great prices, competitive prices, highest quality products out there on the market as this membership model.
So I'll come back more about that and doing live shows and video testimonials and so on for that. So I will include in the show notes a video by Lisa and Ryan Goodkin about the 7 pillars of health, wellness, well-being. And then number 8 here is cocavita. I'm ambassador for cocavita, and that's in hemp oil without THC here in in Europe, in Sweden. And I know one of the cofounders there, Tibor, and I will include in the show notes with episodes with a guest called Hannah Hill. They've written a book about CBD and hemp, great introduction to this area. And it's about this endocannabinoid system, ECS.
So it's like this balance thing with your body. So I'm, again, an ambassador for this product and this company, Cook Aveda, and it'd be interesting also there to see development of that. And then I have been because I distributor of PM International or FIT line range of products. And, so I will include that also. My you you could say, web shop, if you find something to be of interest. And, so it's interesting to test different companies, products, and so on. A new PM back in back in the day from people who have introduced me to that. So I have tested that one, and they have some interesting products there, for what you have for your well-being in different way and interesting technology on cellular level. And then a favorite here, a company that friend of mine introduced me to said, you you like t Martin. Right? And he had a it was a matcha product.
And you could say a refined matcha product, but you could use both drinking cold and warm and could have it in a pitcher over the during the day and sip there. And it was like I think it's 9 gram of matcha and other things that they were added to that also in a powder form. And the product there that I really like is Yerba Mate product called you Unimate, but but also is refined and developed that you also could drink hot and cold. And they have now new flavors there, so that's product that I want to continue with in the future. And that will be able to do that with the main pro programs, referral programs that I have and, affiliate programs and also this referral marketing, but spreading the good word, testimonies about product that you like know, like, and trust. So the last one, and we're now around 30 minutes here, is Elair Health and Beauty company that I'm a partner of. And there it is a product that I really like that is called MindMaster Extreme Functional, I think it was called, powder.
And that you really got the kick when you use that powder. You it was a or, like, a small bag or that you could open and then put directly in your on your tongue or in your mouth without any water or beverage if it was not needed. So and then you got this energy and kick directly. And, again, as I said, I have a gut feeling that this product that I will test here from TLC, Total Life Changes, in the near future, but that will be a new favorite product. So I think that's for now, and I will come back to to you in in the near future. So thanks for listening, and call to action is to download the new modern podcast app.
And there, I had this note that I should have remembered, and that's episodes dot f m, where you could find my podcast. And I will talk about this service on my podcast, tea party dot media, where in the future. So and, also, of course, check out True Fans dot FM again. It's progressive progressive web application and service. And, there you could follow me, and you could be a fan there and, doing these things so that we'll talk about more in the in the near future. So with that, I will take another sip here of black tea here. Cheers. Talk to you soon again. Bye for now.
