Welcome back, Mere Mortalites, to monthly goals. Monthly goals in the flesh live. We're here on 6th October.
[00:00:18] Kyrin Down:
We are in Brisbane. We got Juan here. Yep. And you got Kyrin on this side. We will be releasing this right after our my annual goals, so maybe a day or 2 afterwards. So, if you have want to check those out first to know what I am planning on for this next year and why these all relate to that. Juan did an episode about 2 months ago at the start of August. And so you can also tune in with his as well. And, yeah, we'll be
[00:00:43] Juan Granados:
kicking off those 2 and working on those for the next 10 months year for me. So basically, stop. Go watch that. Go listen to that unless you're listening to this life and then, you know, stick around. So the usual the usual things that we do look back to the month that was September and we look into October what we're planning doing. And then we might talk about a little bit of fitness in through here as well. So let's go September September for me, a little bit of a recap. There's only one one that I didn't get done out of the 8 that I planned. I'll talk about that, which one that one was which would actually start there. It was the booking in the entertainment and finalizing the plan for the dates for the wedding. Finding entertainment was actually really really really really difficult. We reached out to quite a few of them. Sorry finding a what? Entertainment. Entertainment for the wedding. It was quite difficult. I think we're closing in now. We've got an interview on Monday.
Like it's pretty crazy to do this thing. So there was a lot there was a lot to go around there and we just didn't like we either didn't spend enough dedicated time like every day to find this and so I just didn't get done in that particular month. But the other things I did get done in in no particular order, I got the tax return, all done for everything, which was really good. I did get to do one race session per week last last month. I don't know if I can continue that particular timing of it all. So one one what? One race session. Race.
[00:01:59] Kyrin Down:
The race in similar. I racing. Yep.
[00:02:02] Juan Granados:
I did the creating the apparel to give the Chris Williamson. We did. I I was able to pick it up, as well. No, I think I picked up in October but got it all done in September. The things are on the physical side of things limiting the phone usage strictly half an hour before bed no foreign unless an emergency. Yep. Done. We'll continue to do fairly easy but just not having it before I basically sleep. That's that's my main habit. And then doing those last month was 5 extra minutes of rotator cuff, like training or support, which again, that was nice and easy. Just making sure every time I go to the gym I'm doing that. And then the the daily reflection more specifically on relationships so my daily journaling there was a lean towards reviewing how relationships in general were improving or were they lacked across the board. So that that was fun that was just a day to day thing. So overall got most of like all done apart from booking in the entertainment, which hope hopefully we're going to finish it off sometime this this month. But that was September. That was done for me. Okay. What about yourself? Beautiful. Nice. That's good to hear. Yeah. Pretty similar for me. You know, this was coming into the end of it.
[00:03:15] Kyrin Down:
So I was already starting to think about the next years, made it relatively easy. I was also going to be traveling a lot, you know, coming. What was it? I was in Brazil and I would be traveling to I was planning to travel a bit in Brazil and then travel to New Zealand and then obviously coming back here right right at the start of October. So, mine were create list of terracotta terracotta flags to be more picky. I did do this. I actually ended up just deleting it. I probably should have kept it so I could have gone through these. It was more that was more just like a little fun thing just to keep myself occupied. Just just go, okay, what am I searching for? Who who am I searching for? That sort of thing. Make the most of my last Brazil and New Zealand time. I think I did reasonably well on this. I, I would say, you know, past Karim would look back at how I spent my time in Brazil and be like, dude, you you didn't do anything. You wasted. You were just in Londrina the whole time. You barely got out. You end up even going to any of the Brazilian beaches. Now, if I enjoyed beaches, I think I probably would have. But I'm not the biggest beach fan, to be honest. So it's kind of it's like, all right, well, it's not the biggest. So there was there was a point where I'm like, okay, I can go there. And then I'm just looking like, what do you do in Rio? And basically you just party. That's, that's the main thing you do there. And I just went, ah, there's not what I want. It's not what I want. So I feel like I did make the most of it. But what I want now. And so that was that was good. Finished my tax work. I did do this for last year. I didn't manage to get the start on this year's in terms of just okay, already starting to get things in line. You know, we're a third of the way, sorry, a quarter of the way through the year already.
I'd rather be up to date so I'm not having to do a whole bunch. Right. Last last year, I was just fixing up the this last month, I was just fixing up the last 3 months really of of what I was doing. So yeah, well, I did I did what I needed to for this last year, so that was all right. Create brand new strategy for next serious one arm handstand attempt. Man, did I do that? I've got all of all of these notes like workouts Monday, ground fingertip, 1 I'm handstand holder, Mexican work, you know, Tuesday block 1 I'm standing and like going and then so that was old workouts. And then I have, where was it down here? There was like new workouts, etcetera, etcetera. It's cool. When you really enjoy it, when you. Plan potential week Monday morning livestream slash casual stretch midday v for v pod. I, I went so deep into this and then, you know, of course I injured my shoulder and it's like, all right, well, I'm probably going to have to change all of this. So I did, but it's not going to help me because it's not conforming to what reality will permit me to do. So that's fun. That's life completely.
Quit crypto YouTube. I have done this as of now. I was still doing it technically in the lot in the 1st days of October. So I was still in New Zealand. So I write back yesterday for everyone wanting to know. So that was the 5th October. So I failed that in a sense, but it was fun. But yeah, it's basically away now. I was. Yeah, I was enjoying my last my last section there. We okay, not training for mentally beach and Kiwi trip. This was well, the mentally and beach trip didn't end up happening because of things. Kiwi trip. I was just doing a bit of pre rehab there with my brother on the shoulder. So, it would have been hard and possible to do. It was very cold there. So do it. Do it. Yeah. Doing install. I probably would have been forced to do indoor workouts. I was doing a lot of things with my brother and dad. I had time, but I didn't want to at the same time as well.
Just asking more questions was my one related to just I suppose getting out more, being more personality, and related to Portuguese was just trying to be more friendly conversations, trying to start more conversations, things like that. And finished Capitan's.
[00:07:25] Juan Granados:
And I did do that. So it was a productive month for a month. Considering considering the amount of movement and everything else. Productive month for a month that didn't really matter. Yeah. Yeah. It was that good. It's kind of always the the final month before the new girls kick in because you're like, by that point, you roughly have an idea of what you wanna be doing. Yeah. Or like that. And you're, almost ready to begin the detailed actions of it. Yeah. Yeah. So I understand. For everyone wondering what 1's entertainment
[00:07:51] Kyrin Down:
interview is going to be. I'm actually going to do some belly dancing. So that's the interview. So the the section here after the last one, we'd just like to talk a little bit about thanking people. I will have to do a quarterly update on just boostograms and things coming in because I've just decided I'll do that every quarter now. So I think we're just going to be thanking Peter and Cole a lot and Dave Jones as well. Those are our big three, 3 biggest supporters at the moment. There is something I've got something special here for you. Oh, it's a gift from who? Peter. Yeah. Here we go. From across the world. And what do we have from here? There's a can pure maple syrup. Oh, what?
So for those who don't know, I was informed that the maple syrup that we have in Australia is basically trash. And if you were to bring, you know, import, maple syrup that we have here that's labeled maple syrup, you wouldn't be able to legally in Canada because they have stringent rules on what is and what isn't maple syrup. So Peter has informed me Canada also has a strategic maple syrup reserve. Did you know this? I didn't know. So apparently they've just got warehouses full of maple syrup in case of, I don't know, emergency of some sort.
Whether they what they planning on doing with that, how that will help them. I'm I've no idea. But they have that. This is very, very cool. So the the funny thing is, right before I was going to leave the first time and then got all my bags lost and stuff. Last minute, Peter's like, oh, here, take this as well. It's a gift for you and 1. And he gave me 2 of these cans. And I mean, first of all, thank you, Peter. 2nd of all, fuck you for giving me additionally 2 kilos extra in, in my, in my luggage right before I was about to leave. And I'm like, God, am I going to be able to get this through? Because I was already kind of at the limit in terms of like, but I did manage to get it through eventually because, you know, I managed to repack things when I eventually got my bags back and left. And then on the way here to sorry, from Brazil to New Zealand, once again, it's kind of like, all right, I'll have to pack things. And I had some additional stuff. I had a yoga mat in Brazil. I had some extra clothes and, and shit. So I ended up packing and I'm like, I don't know if I can put all of this in the check baggage. And so silly, I went, All right, I'll put one in there that'll get me. And that was already at like 23.7 kgs or something. So I was already a bit over. So I had one of these in my carry on bags. And then also I had in there another gift for you. I was going to bring you back the best dulce de leche that I found. Dulce de leche because last time I think I brought I brought you a random one, but I tasted a lot since then. And I was like, oh, this is the best one. This is the one.
And I also had a, what would you call it? It was like a protein drink. Yay. Big 170 mils or something that I wanted to give to my brother, which was, dose of the late flavored as well. Oh, wow. Bro, bro. This thing, this thing I was. I was delicious. I was having it as desserts, man. It was so good. And as I'm traveling through, you know, go through, go through the laundromat, the domestic airport, that's all fine. And then I'm going through the, you know, international section in Sao Paulo and going, oh, fuck, this is all liquids. Basically, the dossed nature is more like, I don't know, a syrup, I guess.
Maple syrup is I argue a syrup, not not a liquid liquid. And I'm going like, oh, shit, I'm not going to be able to get this through because, you know, everyone's pouring out their water bottles and stuff like this. And then thankfully, just as I was going through the airport, this screening, there was this woman having an argument with the attendants, the people doing the screening, and she held up the line for about 3 or 4 minutes. And so they were just rapidly getting the rest of us through after her. So I was like, Yeah, you boy. So I got it through Brazil. Yeah. Got it through, got got through to Chile. And then of course, because New Zealand and Australian governments are idiots, we still have restrictions on bringing liquids into into the into those countries.
Which is like, okay, whatever, that's fine. But I've already gone through all the screening. But as you remember from my last trip coming back to Australia and I said a similar story where the woman had just bought, you know, bottles of alcohol at the duty free right opposite the, the gate and then was forced to throw them out. Same thing again. I see them coming. We're all having, you know, individually checked our bags again. Yep. Despite going through. So we should have no liquids even though I have liquids, or the only liquids you would have would be stuff you'd buy in the airport. Yeah. Like, yeah, the actual airport or plane. So why are they doing it again right before the flight?
Who fucking knows? But anyway, I see all this and I'm like, oh, shit, this is going to be more difficult. So what I did was slightly illegal and I, I knew like maple syrup and the dulce de leche, I'm just going to have to leave that in the bag. They're too bulky if I try and put them in other places. But with my my brother's, little protein drink, I put that in my, on my, on my person. Yep. And then I'm walking through and the guy gets my bag and he takes it out. And then of course, he checks everything and then he gets the can. I'm like, oh, come on, man. That's a syrup. That's but, you know, he swoos it around. You can hear it. You know, it's early. You can.
Oh, yep. Yeah. You can hear it. It's not a thick syrup. I don't think. And so he takes that and takes it. I'm like, well, that's fucking annoying, but whatever. I've still got one that I can give to one. Yep. And then he looks at the dosa delights and I'm like, come on, man. That's that's basically a solid, you know? Yeah. Yeah. I think it's the teller. It doesn't. Yeah. Yeah. It's incredible. Yeah, exactly. Motherfucker still takes. Oh, and I'm just going like, no, this is bullshit. Thankfully, I managed to get in my, my, my drink. They're going to eat it, brother. We're going to just eat it afterwards. I don't know, man. I mean, my one probably usually it's just water that they're taking from everyone. But yeah, I was very disappointed. So my only condition on giving this to you is you cook me some pancakes sometime so I can try out this here. Okay. Well, thank you very much, Peter for the thank you. Yep. And we've only got the one that we'll have to split it. Yeah, that's that's right. Now you you have I mean, maple syrup is not my favorite anyway. So
[00:14:40] Juan Granados:
you make me some pancakes on time and we'll have to do some pancakes on Sunday morning. We'll take our order. Free podcast and then. Yeah, we can comment on the on the actual. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. So that that's, some some thank you there for for the supporters across the world. Thank you very much. That's very, very that's a good call. I like that. I like it's also half in French as well. That's, that's really cool. Yeah. You could read it with all your French practice. Yeah. Well, the thing I can read like I can understand it fully, which is kind of nice. I really enjoy that. Not that it's super hot. Not that it's very hard because of the The food, Nutlative,
[00:15:11] Kyrin Down:
nutrition facts. Poor. It's like, okay. So it's on my phone. This. Yeah.
[00:15:19] Juan Granados:
Alright. Well, let's look at this October 2024 goals then. Once again this month I've got another 8 then okay map up to body mind and soul 2 on the body again 1 I want to be doing a sort of single leg over this what I call it Do a set of single leg over dumbbell sitting thing. I don't know what I mean. I don't know what you call this but basically you sit on the ground, you get your feet straight out in front of you. Essentially, you raise your leg. Yeah. Twist it around and then put it back down and you do that a few times. It works your like little little muscles works all your little muscles in your actual quads. I've been doing that. I was doing that for a little while, but this month it's every time. I think if you type hip flexor single leg raise.
That's basically gonna be what it is. Exactly. So again, this was an easy one. I like your description. Yeah. Single leg over dumbbell sitting thing. And the other one is back to Thursday long easy. And by this, I mean, the thought Thursday long runs. So I've really been my mindset towards running is starting to slide back to the I'm afraid of doing the long runs and I'll put in mental blockers as to why I shouldn't. Okay. I'd gotten over that for a little while. I haven't been running that much and I've now tried to do 2 Thursday long runs, Okay. Which is supposed to be 10 ks's to begin my running again. I did 5 ks and 6 ks respectively. And what's what's stopping you? What's what's well, what was happening before when I first started was just mental mental, like acrobatics that would make me not do the the business. So this would look like Yeah. This would be, Thursday. I'd wake up and it's raining. I'd be like, actually, I'll go do that around the treadmill rather than running outside. Then I'll be on the treadmill and I'll go and look and fold my own. But the treadmill, it would conk out after 20 minutes. Like it would go, I just go like click run. Yeah. I would get a 20 minutes and then enter like a zone cool down. Okay. I'm like, what the hell is it doing? I'm trying to like get it to fix up. Yeah. Sometimes it just doesn't like reset. So I'll jump onto another treadmill. Yeah. I was saying this to our mate, that another treadmill I jumped on and I wanted it to have an incline of like 11.5 with a certain speed and literally every 40 seconds, the incline would reset to 0. Uh-huh. And I was like Yeah. What is this doing? So Let's do 10 k in 20 minutes. Yeah. So things like that was getting in my mind. I'm like, oh, fuck. I'm just done with this. Like, I did 6 ks on my arm. I'm done. Like, I just don't wanna deal with I was like literally clicking on there and that sort of thing. So, but again, it's just acrobatics mentally that's making me be like oh there are another one was like oh I'm running out of time I'm running out of time but that's more like Mhmm. Okay well I should have made more time in the beginning to actually do this appropriately.
Just simple things like that. So getting back to the Thursday long east is what I call it. The 3 on the mind. So this was a mere mortals and provide the mere mortals by being more active in our profiles in the content consistency. So it's going to be a couple of easier. I'm having a little bit more time now to do this but it's the consistency in some posting regularities on the network producing. That's about first step back again just get that cadence back in. I think we've been on and off for the last couple of months. Just travels things whatever. There's a little bit of a opening here now to bring that back in. So I'm gonna be dialing that in part of this month.
Looking over my master spreadsheet so what I do like where I read all these notes just to see if there's anything that could be automated or leverage ai for. So again, there's one of those explorations into more AI usage into personal space just to see where I could improve it. There's some things that I'm still manually doing automating. I'll see I'll see where I can if there is places that I could. There's a lot of finances I think I'll probably start applying it to we'll see how that goes. And I'm gonna attempt 3 lessons every morning, drilling for Italian practices. So generally I do 2 in the morning. It's just I tend to go 3, A couple of extra minutes, but I always have this.
The difference between 23 is substantial because 1 easy, 2, I'm in my mind I'm starting to get like okay I've gotta get going, I'm gonna get moving away. So to do 3, that's like an extra ask. So that it's a little bit extra. I'm gonna be like, okay. Yeah. I wanna do 3 lessons at least daily in the morning. If I'm doing more through the rest of the day, it's fine. But just 3 in the morning, get them in. So Nice. In the mind. And then the last 3, so one, I want to complete the timing of the wedding, and I'm talking about the wedding day and the events and a few other things that we got going on. And then complete the entertainment, but also the catering. So I want to get those all booked down, sorted out.
There was a demartini event this month, so making the most of it interactions. This is the boat thing. I'll I'll talk about I've noted down the summary of it. I'll talk about it more. Maybe in another episode and stuff like that because that was interesting. I've told you a little bit about it. I'll probably break down a few other things as well as some of the learnings around it and then daily morning coffee and ponder on ammo party. So that's the take actually I've forgotten what actually on a I read down here because I know I would have forgotten. It's the story principle of love of one's fate by doing so it's love of one's face. Right? But it's by doing my daily notes for the day, focusing and honing in how I managed to be anti fragile mentally and what I could do to improve. So one of the things I know that I talk about sometimes when I'm doing my daily notes, I'll do them halfway through the day or towards the end of the day. What I want to try and do is have a coffee in the morning, sit down and actually go through the notes for the day prior so I can actually spend dedicated time. And not all the time but I'm finding, 50% of the time I write my notes for the day before kind of in a rush it's either between a meeting or between doing doing something else and say okay I've got 6 minutes now go and take all these notes. Yeah. It's not normally just feels rushed so if I do it right right in the morning when before anything else kicks in kind of dedicated time. So, you know, that there's a bit of a daily routine now in the morning. So I'm trying to apply words. I get up. I'll have a coffee. I'll do my note taking. I'll do my duolingo. I might just review things for the day, and then we'll get going to the gym. There's some cadence to the mornings that starting to appear as well. Yeah. I'm I'm planning on trying to get my mornings
[00:21:31] Kyrin Down:
casual. I'd love to have, you know, really set. Okay. Wake up between 8:9:9 AM. Take it kind of easy in terms of waking up, not immediately getting up and going brushing teeth and stuff like little meditation or something. But then once I'm in the flow, really just hammering the morning and doing productive things, you know, not procrastinating, not doing any stupid shit. Yeah. And I think for me, I mean,
[00:21:56] Juan Granados:
we operate in different different time zones, obviously, but we are like, like Monday, Mondays at 3:30 a. M, Tuesday, the 4 am. Wednesdays at 3:30 am. Thursday, Fridays are 4 am. And then we get to pass. So whatever. That's just like we're sitting now at the moment. So it's enough time to do the things that I need to do or want to do. But anyways, that's the October. Nice. Monthly goals are out to come. Sounds good. Sounds good. Let's let's hear Karen's first first look at monthly goals on this on this new annual goal plan. Yeah, sure. So first one, start making jokes and being flirty, outgoing everywhere. And there's especially
[00:22:32] Kyrin Down:
in new places. One kind of fun thing about traveling is when you're in a in a new place, you you can just go like, I can do anything here because there's no reputation or anything. You know, if I and I didn't feel this in Brazil because I was in the same place the whole time. So it's like, okay, probably can't really do this, but, and that's a mental block because you can you can be silly, you can be wacky. You can for example, you were talking about one of your neighbors at a tennis court. It's like, oh, we could go play that. I was like, oh, why don't after this, I just go over there and knock on the door and say, like, hey, can I play tennis on your tennis court sometime? And I'll give you some money. Yep. Like there's nothing stopping you from doing that. It's a little bit weird. Sure. But fuck it. Why not? And I want to get that same sort of mentality and apply it to just general life situation. So I think of a funny joke in my head. Even if it's not funny, say it and, you know, see what happens. So that's really and this for everyone, everywhere, that sort of thing, not not just specifically for, for women.
So relationships follow through on golf and other plans. So we do have quite a few meet up things. You know, next Saturday evening I've got something next Sunday afternoon. Even right after this might be meeting a friend going to Canberra in a couple of weeks. I've talked with doing golf with dad and other things like that. So really just making sure I'm doing all of those things and catching up with people, especially being back here. Will I be able to maintain that level of, kind of consistency and effort of seeing people every week. I want to try and meet a friend with improve a relationship every week or make their time for a relationship every week, whether it's friends, whether it's family, doesn't really matter. But that's that's kind of the plan. Get started on the financial work I didn't do last week, the tax work, tax work, last month and just some new sell limits in particular. So really make sure I'm making profit and being like, you gotta do it. Don't don't, don't go like, oh, go even higher. You know, that sort of thing.
Danger. Rehab everything. And this is a shocking one. Begin cutting weight. How much do you think I weigh, Juan? 7082. So oh, not a bad guess. Not a bad guess. So when I went to Brazil, I believe I was 76 ish. And that was also the time period where I went, I'm not gonna have a scale. I'm getting kind of tired of, you know, measuring my my waist and weight every morning. No real point. I just don't want to do it anymore for a while. So I've had about 6 months off of not doing that. I stepped on the scale yesterday evening and it told it informed me I was 81.3.
Oh, that's the heaviest I've been in a long time. I can't 81.3. So I've, that was kind of intentional in Brazil. I was trying to eat more protein and just try and eat more, I guess. And then in New Zealand, with my family being social, eating, eating way more. There was a couple of days I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you can believe that. Unbelievable. This is rather. More like imagine that guys. I felt so heavy, man. I felt like, how do you how do people eat this much food? That was crazy. I mean, I don't know. I honestly don't know. I eat less food when I eat just once a day. But anyway, I do want to begin cutting some of that weight off and I won't even try getting down to like 75, 74 maybe. Yeah. I helped out with the one hand in hand since it does. It does. Yeah. I will. I would definitely feel a difference of 5 ks is not being on me. Absolutely. Morning meditation followed by energetic stretching or productive work. So like I mentioned just before, I want the mornings to be a mix of, you know, kind of calm waking up. I like that. But then also not letting that, you know, continue on.
Time to get into a flow. Yeah, exactly. Begin reading a book and the polyglot info. Blah. I hate that. What? Polyglot. So this is related to travel. So begin reading a book in Portuguese or German or Spanish. At least one of them start getting into that. And yeah, just I as much as I dislike the polyglot word, find that community weird. Every time I've looked into it, they will be the ones who definitely have the most knowledge on how to switch languages rapidly. And, and when I say rapidly, I mean, you know, be able to speak in one and not get it confused with another language and keeping them separate.
I think that's that community is going to be the one that will have the most info on that. So
[00:27:28] Juan Granados:
I'm going to have to dove into some polyglot stuff. I wouldn't. Yeah, I would have no idea if it's like techniques, tactics or if it's just. Yeah, I'll just do this. I've
[00:27:38] Kyrin Down:
yeah, I've never looked into it. I'll be interested. So yeah, hopefully should be some good info there. This one's a little bit weird. The character. So prioritize house cleaning and stick to one controlled. I called this enjoyment evening a week, but not a binge day. It's an enjoyment evening. So basically, what I what I've realized in the in the past is if I've said, like, oh, I'll I'll have, like, one day a week where I can, you know, watch soccer stuff on YouTube, go on 9 gag, read manga, just do whatever. I have known at times that I will treat that entire day as that. They just waste a whole bunch of fucking time.
So I'm just, like, capping this, like, nope. It's gonna be an enjoyment evening. So basically, like, damage will be limited to 3 hours maybe rather than a full time. Okay. And I actually I had ridden a binge day at the start. Then I was I was doing some other things. I started reading and I'm like, no, I got to change it. I got to change it. And then the last one is just make a dent in the Morpheus YouTube backlog of all this A. I. Stuff that I've got down there. So just really switching some of that media consumption to A. I. Related things and trying to learn more about that.
[00:29:03] Juan Granados:
Yeah, back to all the things in this month.
[00:29:06] Kyrin Down:
I didn't feel like it's too too crazy, especially because it's not related to do X number of things this Yeah, no, it's a lot. Yeah, it does true. That's true. It's more just it's the maybe like practices or habits. Yeah. As opposed to honestly, there's the theme of this month is trying to build up a bit of a routine again. Because like, essentially, I'm you've been out of it for like, you've been out of a routine for a while. Like, I guess a while. Yeah. Essentially, I'm starting at 0, you know, moved into my brother's place, my dad's moving house. I'm going to have to spend a lot of time helping him with that. Yeah, there's, there's going to be a lot of just chaos this month. So it's,
[00:29:41] Juan Granados:
embracing, embracing the chaos. Raising the chaos. I see it's just currently crushed. I was going to say I did summarize it. I normally summarize my my month as well, but see what I actually called it because, yeah, we're a couple of days beyond that. I actually make a note that didn't. But my yeah. Mine's a similar cater case of the big priorities, the big things coming up this this year, I guess, from the adding goals where it's wedding stuff. It's rehabbing anything in terms of the body just to make sure they're stronger. And then Yeah. A bit more of a down on the podcast and things like that. Right? Yep. Cool. On that.
Nice. Well, I think we'll probably fitness wise. Anything else? I mean, we talked about that. And so I've quite a bit, but anything else you want to call out fitness wise? Nah, it's nothing, you know? Yeah. Like I said, it's just it's I'm having niggling injuries
[00:30:27] Kyrin Down:
and they've this has been happening for a couple of years now. You know, last I was last October, September was when I started getting that real pain in my hands, which basically kept me offhand standing for 4 to 6 months from really doing what I wanted to do. Yeah, I don't have anything like that at the moment. I've knock on wood, but it's it's at the point where I say, I got to really focus on I feel like if I don't start making a solid crack at getting the one arm handstand and really getting it this year, my side going away, it's gonna other things are gonna take priority, especially if you're looking at a partner. Yeah. Whatever else. It's it's gonna get very hard. Very, very hard. And, you know, may this is where I'm also like, you know, if I'm 4 months into this year and I don't feel like I'm making any progress, I'll I'll pay for a coach. You know, I'd I'd really dislike following other people's programs. But if it allows you to do the training that you need to do, maybe. Well, it might even just be I it's not even it's not a it's not a case of I'm not doing the training.
It might just be straight up. I don't know enough about how to learn this thing despite all of the hours I've spent going to, you know, went to a handstand retreat. I've looked up plenty of different people online, listen to the whole, you know, handstand podcast, handstand factory podcast, handstand cast, and it might get to a point where it's like, I need real professional help in terms of taking videos. They're looking at this thing. I think it's the external view that you don't you might miss something. Yeah, absolutely. Which which might be necessary. So if I'm prepared, I hate doing it. I've really I just like I just I know if I get a program from them, I'm going to go like, oh, but what about this? Yeah. Yeah. I don't this this doesn't work well with me, my character, how I train, but I'm, I'd be willing to make that sacrifice. And yeah, it, it's not all fun and games if you, if you want the one arm handstands, it not knowing the it, I think it's forcing me to change a lot of things, not just physically wise, but, you know, personality wise in some cases where it's like, all right, you have to you have to do this. You don't like doing it, but you got to get in the market if you're going to achieve something like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, the what's like one of the hardest things for probably an ultra marathoner to do will be to, you know, take more rest or run less hard. Yeah. Yeah. I think is it Nick Bear always used to talk about how he he ran so hard and that he didn't realize like you needed to run kind of softer more slowly to get faster. Yeah.
Yep. Then I'm talking about this was it run run slow to run fast or something. Yeah, although you can go the opposite and be like, too. Yeah, it's
[00:33:24] Juan Granados:
it's like, predominantly and it is I mean, this is just overall in most endurance, sports, cycling or distance running is like you want to predominantly your base wants to come from the improvement of zone 2 or low heart rate VO 2 improvement, but then still have the possibility for high, like, the amplitude at the top level zone 5 type. Yep. You can deal it out when you need to, but the general base is going to come from more slower running. But yes. Yep. So perhaps for you, I don't know what the equivalent is for handstands, but it might be a level of intensity, your level of endurance in the one arm that maybe you just haven't spent enough time or done it because says I enjoy that you find and doing it in a different way. But my come and be like, no, Karen, you have to do this. You're like, Sure. Fuck. I don't want to do that. But Yeah. Only only fingertips.
No block walks. No nothing. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe that's what's necessary. Yeah. Well, then You'll find out. Gonna be it's gonna be exciting. Yeah. Yeah. I honestly think I think we'll we'll probably do something fitness right because I'm I was talking to a mate just before as well around actually do a power lifting meet with him as well. I've been leaning more into I'm currently running a more powerlifting specific, kind of weak basis, but I've been doing it, let's just say, 85% intensity, not a 100%. Uh-huh. And I think, you know, if that sort of came up, I would become much more high level percentages of intensity towards this particular goal.
And it would be cool to document and talk about it. And again, I feel like if we do that in just a podcast format, the later the really long podcast in amongst everything else or it would just become a monotonous amount of fitness. So maybe maybe we need to do this in a separate conversation of fitness. So we'll see more like more promising as it been. That's a month ago for for October again. How you can support us while you can send me some, maybe. Yes. We're from Canada, which is pretty cool. I'd love to hear
[00:35:14] Kyrin Down:
everyone's monthly goals at home. You know, what what are you working on? What are you focusing on? Strategies, things you've had to change to achieve them? I'd love to hear all those things. So YouTube comment or sending a boost to gram or reaching out to us on social media would be really fun to hear those things. Other than that, there's a value for value podcast. So everything we do here is sponsorship free, ad free. We do it just put it at free of value for you and we just ask that you return some of that in whatever shape or form that you want to at home. There's a PayPal link down below.
We've talked about the boost grant before in models podcast.com slash support
[00:35:51] Juan Granados:
and yeah, share it with friend. That's, that's what we're asking at the moment. Beautiful. So I'll make sure I don't have any questions as well on the live at the moment. No, we don't. But beautiful. So I think we're going to leave it there. Thank you very much. The immortal lights once again. Check-in, tune in, be all the good things for now. The immortal lights won out. Caron out. Ciao. Good.
