When is it time to stand up for what you believe in?
We believe that time is now.
We’re hitting pause on our scheduled podcasts and posts to honor and highlight our black brothers and sisters and people of color in June.
In this special episode from the Trust & Believe Podcast, you're going to hear directly from our dear friend, Shaun T.
Shaun and I got to know each other about 5 years ago now on ABC TV working on a TV show called "My Diet is Better Than Yours."
He inspired me in so many different ways, and I'm very thankful to say that we've kept in touch over the years and he's actually been on the Fat-Burning Man Show two times in the past.
You know Shaun, long story short, is one of the best motivators I have ever seen in action and one of the best people I know.
So for many reasons, I would like to highlight his voice today. There's a lot that we can learn from what he has to say.
And I will warn you, it's a very emotional show. But we did keep the language family-friendly, so don't worry about that.
Today, Shaun T explains what's happening from his perspective. This was originally recorded for Shaun’s podcast Trust and Believe, and we decided to cross-post it here.
I first listened to this podcast with a lump in my throat and tearing up the whole time.
Love, patience, and understanding will get us through this. Not violence and destruction.
Black Lives Matter, we see you, we hear you, we stand with you, and we love you. Thank you for being patient as we all work together.
We are being divided, I believe, on purpose from the top down. And we will only get through this by showing each other compassion, patience, sympathy, and empathy. And hugs when they're legal again.
And so, I hope this special show today and the ones to come will help bring a little bit more empathy or at least sympathy and compassion back to the world.
We need it desperately right now.
