Welcome, everyone to the valuefor value podcast. My name is   Kyrin. I'm also the host of theMere Mortals, Mere Mortals book   reviews, and Reseñas InSpanglish and this is the   podcast for those who want todive deeper into the model that   is the value for value. Why thisdiffers from something like say   the censorious advertising modelof the limiting your   listenership via the paywallmethod and things like that, and   getting deeper into the heart ofwhat is value for value and why   this is a revolutionary new wayof monetizing your creations of   being able to live in the worldof connect deeper with your   listenership and just live Isuppose, a somewhat of a more   ethical life, to be honest. Inthe first season, we really   dived into the philosophy behindthe value for value. So we   examined where it was createdfrom a with Adam curry and his   method on the no agenda show, welooked at some of the different   ways why you wouldn't want toset a price limit for your   listeners, why you want to maybethink of yourself more as a   public institution, I constantlyreceiving more funds coming in   for the work that you're doing.So you've you've got a constant   evaluation and things like that.So we really dove into the the   philosophy in the first 18episodes. Now we're going to go   on to a new purpose. And so thispurposes, once again, a two part   thing. Number one, it's tohighlight other value for value   shows and their methods. So wegot into the more philosophy   last time now we're gonna getinto the nitty gritty, how do   other shows actually go aboutdoing this? What are their   methods of, you know, linguistictricks that they might use?  

Where they put it in their show?How does it relate to their   content? How can you do this ifyou're a sports show, or if   you're a comedy podcast, orthings like that, so we're going   deeper into actual real worldexamples, which is something I'm   a big fan, I'm much more a fanof action rather than pure talk.   The other purpose is once again,to do some testing of my own. So   I have now fully moved this ontoa self hosted option for   podcasting called caster pod.And I want to try out some of   the new tags similar to the lasttime where it was a bit of a mix   of I'm going to try out some newthings for myself as well. So   how's this new format going totake place? Well, this is my   rough thoughts at the moment.And why I would want to fit it   in this way. And one of thereasons is, I really want to   make this as short and snappy aspossible. I suppose last time, I   probably meandered a bit toolong and went into it. And look,   I have a habit of doing that.And expanding upon things and   sort of just speaking my mind ina long form format. So it will   probably, you know, devolveinto, into me being a bit Gaby   and and really diving into,like, Oh, I really liked how   this show did this thing. Andyou can even see me doing it   right now. So alright, it's notgonna be short and snappy, it's   going to be more like this. Butin any case, what I'm planning   on doing is I'll have the, thenew format will be something   like intro music and a quick wayto you'll why who's this podcast   is for, I'll highlight a newshow. So this could be something   quite podcasting. 2.0 could beone of my own shows. For the I   only have a couple of shows,there's not going to be many of   them. But there'll be othershows that are also in the   podcasting 2.0 ecosystem worldand who might be doing something   a little bit different, or atruly on the path of, of going   down and, and using the valuefor value model. So I'll   highlight a show probably play aclip of this and how they   actually doing it themselves.And then maybe it'd be a brief   deconstruction of what they'redoing. And something I found   interesting. I probably maybeeven do some podcasts and 2.0   News developments, maybe aroundup section, there's so many   cool things happening so manyapps worth talking about   developers doing new things andjust world the world of   podcasting is sort of constantlyevolving. So I might do a little   section with that. We'll seewe'll that one's a maybe at the   moment. And then I'll have myown sort of value for value   pitch readout on the boostagrams that I've got in the   boostagram lounge section,and maybe even some highlighting   of my own mere mortal showsbecause I really don't do that   enough. I'm a terrible marketer.And that is the the purpose the   idea of this new season seasontwo,   I really do hope you can join inwith me and and with these new   shows that I'm highlighting, youknow, go check them out and   support your favorite podcasterthat is the whole point of the   value for value method.
