Vance Crowe interviews his graduate school mentor, Zheng Wang. They discuss cultural interpretations about masks, and why China and the US have different Coronavirus results. Zheng Wang taught me a great deal about other ways of thinking about the world. He took far more interest in my work than any other professor I've ever met. He pushed me to submit higher quality work, he taught me different emotional and social frameworks to use to better understand conflict, and he made me understand the world in a much more nuanced way.
Vance and Zheng Wang discuss the core of the US China cultural misunderstandings and discuss the difference in education systems. The two talk about the leaders of China Xi Jinping and Donald Trump discussing the national motto's adopted by the two leaders.
Zheng Wang Ph.D. is the director for the Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution at the Seton Hall School of Diplomacy and International Relations.
