In this episode of the Shelley Tasker Show, hosted by Mr. Scott in Shelley's absence, we delve into a controversial topic sparked by an article from Cornwall Live. The discussion centres around a British Democrat Councillor's comments on the Holocaust, which have been deemed offensive by many. Mr. Scott attempts to provide context to the Councillor's statements, referencing historical events and figures such as Benjamin Freedman and the Treaty of Versailles. The conversation touches on the influence of mainstream media and the importance of independent research, encouraging listeners to question the narratives presented by traditional news outlets.
Following the heavy discussion, the episode transitions into a music show, revisiting tracks from Mr. Scott's old website, pureoriginal.com. Listeners are treated to a variety of tunes from independent artists, ranging from chill beats to more lively tracks. The show highlights the diversity and talent of unsung musicians, offering a nostalgic trip through music that once featured on the now-archived site. Mr. Scott shares personal anecdotes about the artists and his experiences in the music scene, providing a light-hearted end to the episode.
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. You are listening to RadioSoapbox.com among other oh, no. Among other outlets. This is the Shelley Tasker Show. Shelley is still on hiatus, so you are stuck with me, mister Scott. Today is the May 28, Wednesday, the '20 eighth of May '20 '20 '5. And what an exciting week it's been. Well, it has for me anyway. I've got a I've got a a bit of a a random show for you this evening because it's gonna be a bit of a music show. Yes. That's it. We're gonna have a music show this evening. It is gonna be essentially pureoriginal.com revisited. Yes. My old website, from, yeah, a number of years ago now.
But before we get to that, a couple of little things to, talk about here. One of them, was actually sent to me by our good host, missus Shelley Tasker, and it's an article from Cornwall Live. So Cornwall Live or Cornwall Lies, as we like to call it, is a local rag, a local online rag here from the Southwest Of The UK. And, the title reads, Councillor caught on camera saying the Holocaust was massively over exaggerated. The British Democrat Councillor said, Antisemitism does not exist. That is the subheading. So in a minute we're gonna have a little listen to what he said and maybe pick a bit of it apart or just at least maybe put into context what he was saying.
But of course the council it says here, a councilor has been caught on camera saying the holocaust was massively over exaggerated. A British Democrat you remember men mentioning the British Democrats last week, with Stephen Smith? I don't know whether any of you got around to actually looking at the YouTube page that they have, but there's an excellent speech from mister Stephen Smith, the deputy head of the British Democrats, at the top of that page. Well worth a listen. I'm not supporting any political party I have to say, or I will not be affiliated shall I say with any political party but, you know I have to say for myself, it's it's not about politics it's it's a matter of opinion and it's a matter of research and it's also a matter of spending your time not looking at the mainstream media and concentrating on things like radiosoapbox.com among other outlets, obviously.
Anyone prepared to sit back and, just take for granted as fact everything that is mentioned by our mainstream media, the BBC etcetera etcetera, well they get all they deserve. As far as I'm concerned if you wanna have a busy day at work, you know I have busy days, in fact my last two days at work have been incredibly busy and strenuous and tiring. When I get home do I sit back and flick on the box and, just take everything they say for granted? I don't do any of those things because I don't even watch the television and I strongly suggest to anyone out there, anyone that's got a television in their living room, just just leave it unplugged for a couple of weeks and see how life changes for you. It's not nearly as much doom and gloom as they will have you believe. In fact, I think the main purpose of the mainstream media apart from being a propaganda outlet for the powers that should not be, is simply to keep you caught in a cycle of, detriment. Let me put it that way.
Keep you caught in that little cycle of everything's hopeless and everything's getting worse and everything you know? And I look outside the window and you Crikey! Sun's shining? Looking lovely out there today. Got another high pressure coming this way, for the weekend. Watch out, Shelly. Might be down your way. You never know. You know, we have a little article here from The Independent saying here we go. I've already told them I don't want all the pop ups and the ads etcetera etcetera etcetera. Let's just go go back a page a sec shall we? Look. Here we go.
UK weather to see off bank holiday rain with temperatures soar up to it won't let me read anymore. Well, that's your mainstream media for you isn't it? Sky News is reporting it is the sunniest spring since records began, the Met Office say. I don't believe that because I seem to remember that from March 2020 until pretty much the end of the summer it was a glorious, a glorious stretch of sunshine from one end of the year to the other. What better way to appease people and keep them at home? Anyway, let's get to this little article here, and let's have a little listen at what, are good and and I should I should start by saying that Peter Lawrence, counselor Peter Lawrence, who is, parish counselor for my law, a little a tiny little place here in Cornwall, but nevertheless, he's parish counselor there.
He wasn't actually far off of getting, into being counselor for Falmouth, which is one of the major ports in The UK, believe it or not. But, was was just a few votes short but, nevertheless his home his homestead of my law, he is, parish councilor there. And, this is what he had to say when confronted when confronted by protest group Cornwall resists. Well Cornwall resists has another name. Cornwall resists is actually Antifa, folks. So when they say Cornwall resists, what they mean is we ship people in from Bristol and other areas, bus them down, pay for their day there, give them a few Starbucks brochures so that they can get paid you know, Starbucks vouchers, sorry, so that they can get paid without it being on the books.
And, you know, they get shipped in from all over the place. So Cornwall Resists has got nothing to do with Cornwall and the folks of Cornwall. In fact, I think if you spoke to most of the Indigenous folks in Cornwall and asked them who Cornwall Resists were they'd say who? It's Antifa folks. Make no mistake that's who Cornwall resists
[00:08:12] Unknown:
is.
[00:08:13] Unknown:
So he was grilled on his views by opposing protest group Cornwall resists. So let's see and I hope you guys can hear this over the noise that the stupid blooming Antifa lot make because they, you know, obviously, they don't like discussion. They don't like anyone being heard unless it's on their side. And they, you know, regular listeners will remember me and Shelley attended a couple of protests in Yuki regarding the migrant hotels, quote, unquote. And, there was actually a 70 year old woman assaulted and her son. And the police actually upheld a roadblock that Antifa enforced because they were, there was not enough manpower for them to push them back across the road. So they actually shut off a road, assaulted members of the public, and the police then waited until the very end of the day when most of quote unquote our side had just had enough of their chanting and we'd we'd done our bit, we went home, and a few people had remained there, and if you go and look it up on YouTube you can you can see just migrant hotel protest Newquay, you will see the footage that was taken of these two Antifa guys. One of them actually assaulted me as well I have to say, pushed me straight into a police officer who then smiled at me and let me through. Yeah, the police officer should have turned around and said you've just assaulted me and I could have just then turned around and said well actually I was pushed into you by that guy. Oh no. Hang on. Which guy was it? They're all dressed the same and they keep shuffling ranks so you don't know who's done what. Yeah. Because the typical bully boy tactics, they, you know, they they they they're in the front of the the mob and then they'll shove someone and then they'll duck, disappear to the back of the mob and because they're all dressed the same, no one can identify who did what.
So I was assaulted. Various other members of the public were assaulted, 70 year old woman was assaulted and me and another chap called Graham, great guy, got involved and said look you can't just walk away from this, let's, you know, let's get a statement to a policeman. At which point a community a community, what do they call them? A community officer, not a proper policeman. They got these little blue stripes around their hat. They got no power whatsoever. He went over and said, can I help? And bless him, Graham. Said, no. Go and get me a proper police officer, which is what was duly done. And and a statement was taken from this woman and her son who was also assaulted.
And, at the very end of the protest, if you, as I say, if you YouTube the, migrant hotels protest, Newquay, you will find the footage of two Antifa guys re not only resisting arrest, but, eventually being rounded up by the police. And one of the members of the public on our side was brilliantly brilliantly said, not so mouthy now, are you? Anyway, they were rounded up, taken off, arrested, and within days, the charges were dropped. And both of those guys were from Bristol. Cornwall resists? I think not. Anyway, let's have a little listen to what good old farmer Pete or Peter Lawrence, Mr. Councillor Peter Lawrence had to say to these guys when they were poking questions at him, obviously to get a rise and to get, you know, to get sound bites that they could then send off to Cornwall Live, and and, you know, and we end up with a headline: Councillor caught on camera saying the holocaust was massively over exaggerated.
So let's have a little listen. Hope you can hear what you can actually say over the row that's being created by these people. It might not come through very loud to start off with, so I might have to restart it again, but I'll be as quick as I can with it. So bear with me, folks. Here's mister Lawrence.
[00:12:18] Unknown:
Does anti semitism exist?
[00:12:24] Unknown:
Well, it depends.
[00:12:25] Unknown:
Technically, no. Because the people that you don't like aren't actually semis.
[00:12:30] Unknown:
Why is it this paper with Jewish people? But because
[00:12:59] Unknown:
of the, the restoration of the German people to have self determination and be ruled by the Germans as well. Did you think he did he did he did he had no Hitler didn't other beef with the Jews. He just didn't want them to disrupt
[00:13:12] Unknown:
what was going on. And they Did you do you think Hitler was right to kill so many Jews? Sorry? Do you think Hitler was right to kill so many Jews? Well, I I
[00:13:21] Unknown:
I and from what I've read and the revisionist historians who I've read cannot find a single order from Adolf Hitler calling for the execution of the Jews. So do you believe do you believe in the holocaust? That the holocaust has been massively over exaggerated.
[00:13:36] Unknown:
You think it's been over exaggerated? Massively over exaggerated.
[00:13:41] Unknown:
Okay. So there you go. So I'm gonna replay it, and we'll pick it apart as it goes to all credit to, farmer Pete all credit to counselor, Peter Lawrence. Here we go. Look. All credit to him. I think he shafted his corner rather well. So I'm just gonna replay it and we'll pick apart each point. Okay? Just to put it into context. I am very, very well versed on this entire subject. Okay? And anyone that wants to take offense anything that I'm saying, I suggest you go back and look at your history books and look at newspapers from the time and, then come back to me and complain. I have all the evidence to back up everything that I'm about to go over. So let's start from the beginning.
Okay. So technically no. Antisemitism doesn't exist because he says the people you don't like aren't actually semites. So I'm assuming the people that you don't like quote unquote are Jewish people. So what he's now talking about is something that we covered last week and the week before, with Benjamin Friedman's speech and that is most of the people that call themselves Jewish nowadays are not Sephardic Jews I. E. People from North Africa and The Middle East. They're not Sephardic they're Ashkenazi. These people descended from what is now known as Ukraine but back in the day was Khazaria and they simply took on the Judaic religion.
So the the, the example that Benjamin Friedman uses is that there are 53,000,000 Chinese, this was back in 1962, so there are 53,000,000 Chinese that are Muslim. None of them were from that era, you know, none of them were from the Middle East so if they called themselves Arabs it would be laughed at, it would be stupid, but over 90% of world Jewry are Ashkenazi who are descended from Khazaria and they took on, rather like the Chinese Muslims, they took on the Judaic religion. So that's that bit covered. Okay? Next bit. Where was it as claiming the Jewish people? Well, because world
[00:16:31] Unknown:
on Germany in Washington Britain. They declared war. They were they were bankrupting them from the treaty of the price. They were blockading the, food and everything else.
[00:16:42] Unknown:
Okay. So the first point he brings up there is world jury declared war on Germany. Go back. Any of you that are listening now that is upset with that comment, do a very, very quick Google search for, can't remember the name of the newspaper now, but if you just simply Google World Jury Declares War on Germany, you will find exactly what Benjamin Friedman was talking about last week and the week before whereby a meeting was held, world Jews got together, they went over, I don't think it was Germany, but they asked the Germans to come over and have this meeting and they said, look. You can't kick us all out of our jobs. You can't stop us from banking. You can't, you know, you can't stop us from operating in law. You can't stop us from operating in, you know, the media and that kind of thing.
We demand that you get rid of Hitler, and we demand that you you reinstate our positions. At which point, the, delegates to that meeting at the time basically just said not a chance. At which point a chap called Samuel Untermyer traveled back from the meeting enraged obviously and he went straight on, you know, he took his journey back across via boat or via plane whatever probably boat back in the day, back to New York instantly went on a radio show and he declared that there should be a boycott, a worldwide boycott on all German goods.
Go back to the last two shows that we've done here on the Shelley Tasker Show and listen or simply put in 'Benjamin Friedman Willard Hotel nineteen sixty two' into YouTube it's all there you can go and listen and Benjamin Friedman was someone that was in the know because he was present at the Treaty of Versailles which Pete has just mentioned in that he said they were trying to stir the Germans out from the Treaty of Versailles onwards. Look at the state of Germany in the Weimar Republic which occurred after the Treaty of Versailles.
Okay, so that's that point. Let's move on to the next bit.
[00:19:25] Unknown:
Frustrating the efforts of the, the restoration of the German people to have self determination and be ruled by the Germans as well. So
[00:19:37] Unknown:
that is also true at the time when Hitler ran for power, I don't necessarily think Hitler was a good guy, but when Hitler ran for power there were 33 political parties running, more than that possibly 37 political parties vying for power in Weimar Germany at the time because there was that much unrest. The Communists, Rosa Luxemburg etcetera etcetera, they did actually manage to take over Germany for a few days until they were overthrown and they were frustrating the efforts for German people to be self determined and self governed because they wanted Germany to be communist and many of the political parties were affiliated with that movement.
Many weren't, as I say there were over 30 denominations, there were over 30 political parties running at the time and indeed when Hitler got into power it was actually there were two people voted in so he was part of a coalition government when they first got into power. So that little section there is true as well. Let me just go back over that. That
[00:20:56] Unknown:
there. He had no Hitler didn't have a beef with the Jews. He just didn't want them to disrupt what was going on, and they did do
[00:21:06] Unknown:
So he did I would say, having read Mein Kampf, I would say that Hitler did have a beef with the Jews but politically at the time they weren't of political interest. What Pete I think Pete actually means here is that they weren't they weren't, a political motivator for what the National Socialist Party who were in, you know, eventually got into power after the coalition was dissolved. And that was that wasn't really to do with I'm gonna digress if I'm not careful. So, yes, they were frustrating the efforts. They they were, he did not have a beef with the Jews politically.
He simply didn't want international juries financial influence to be an influence over Germany which is why Samuel Untermyer then went back and called for a worldwide boycott on German goods. Go look it up, the newspaper articles are all there for you to go and look up. So there is nothing there thus far that, Councillor Lawrence has said that should be causing offence to anyone that is well read. It's only those people, as I said before, that are prepared to go home, bury their head up the asshole of mainstream media, and believe everything they say. Excuse my French. Let's get to the last bit.
[00:22:36] Unknown:
Sorry? You think Hitler was right to kill so many Jews? Well, I I
[00:22:42] Unknown:
I and from what I've read and the revisionist historians who I've read cannot find a single order from Adolf Hitler calling for the execution of the Jews. So do you believe do you believe in the Holocaust?
[00:22:54] Unknown:
Okay. So let's forget the second question she's just asked. Let's get the count counter that first question or not counter, but just answer honestly. So
[00:23:09] Unknown:
calling for the execution of the Jews.
[00:23:12] Unknown:
There was no written order calling for any execution of any Jews anywhere ever found by any historian. None. None. And anyone that can produce such a document, I will personally give, I don't know, a hundred quid to because that's all I can afford. There are other historians in the past that have offered far greater sums of money but you find me one single genuine document that is a written order from the National Socialist government that called for the execution of the Jews I'll pay anyone that can provide me with that hundred quid. Alright? And that's, you know, that's my cards on the table. Email me [email protected] Come on get yourself hundred quid for nothing, hey? If it's that easy [email protected] Okay. So that's that's that little thing there. So let's hopefully, we're doing a good job of picking this apart. This is the last and final comment. And Adolf Hitler calling for the execution of the Jews. So do you believe do you believe in the holocaust? That
[00:24:21] Unknown:
the holocaust has been massively
[00:24:23] Unknown:
over exaggerated. Do you think it's been over exaggerated? Massively over exaggerated.
[00:24:27] Unknown:
Oh, look. They they cut the clip there. Just as he said, the holocaust the Holocaust has been massively over exaggerated but they cut the clip so that he wasn't able to elaborate on that which afterwards I'm sure he did, I wasn't there so I don't know but just in case he didn't I will elaborate for you. There was a very famous trial took place back in the nineties with a guy called Ernst Zundel who had been systematically attacked by, people like the ADL, the Anti Defamation League, for printing out various leaflets prescribing to the fact that the Holocaust had been over exaggerated or maybe didn't even occur at all. Okay.
You can understand people's outrage because this is what we're taught occurred, particularly Jewish people. I mean, you know, a lot of Jewish people are bought up with the knowledge that they, their race or religion, not sure which it is, it depends on, you know, what they want it to be on the day, but their race or religion has been persecuted for centuries and this is just another nail in the PTSD coffin shall we say. The Holocaust has been massively over exaggerated. Well this this statement will be backed up by the results of Ernst Zundel's trial. Ernst Zundel, look him up. Doug Christie, his lawyer, look him up too.
There was a famous trial took place in Canada not so famous that it was public knowledge because it all had to be done behind closed doors. But various revisionist historians were involved in it. David Irving, were called as witnesses was called as a witness. And, a French guy, I can't remember his name now, the guy who did all the research on the on the Holocaust narrative. Farazan. Farazan that was his name. The result the end result of that trial resulted in the plaque outside of Auschwitz being reduced from 3,000,000 Jews were killed in Auschwitz blah blah blah blah blah why whatever means.
There was a plaque outside Auschwitz that originally said that 3,000,000 Jews were executed and exterminated there as as a part of you know German policy. After Ernst Zundel's trial, not forgetting most of the evidence that we have for this occurred during the Nuremberg trials which was one of the most farcical trials ever. It was a victor's trial. It was it was a trial for the losers, you know it was the victors were in charge of the trial and and that's you know so most of the evidence for the Holocaust comes from that and most of it was eyewitness testimony or or witness testimony should I say.
After Ernst Zundel's trial in the nineties, the plaque outside Auschwitz went from 3,000,000 to 1,100,000. Okay. 1,100,000. That's bad. That's that's nasty. You know, I get that but the very fact that we all still learn about the number 6,000,000 when 2,000,000 have already been deducted from that would suggest that good old pharma p or Councillor Lawrence is correct in his assertion that it has been over exaggerated. They had to change the plaque themselves, the people in charge of Ashford's site had to change the plaque themselves. So I hope we've got that cleared up.
I would like to get Pharmapete on. Maybe when Shelley comes back, you know, she can because I haven't got his contact details. She has. Maybe when Shelley comes back, we could get him on and and have a little chat about these things because I have to say these you know, you know, going back to the headline, you know, that, your counselor is caught on camera saying that the Holocaust was massively over exaggerated. Well, hopefully for you guys out there, I've just put it into context. He didn't say that it didn't happen. He didn't openly quote unquote, even though it's a stupid word, deny the Holocaust but he did say that it's been massively over exaggerated because we all still learn about 6,000,000, yet 2,000,000 has been taken off that number.
What are the kids learning in school nowadays when it comes to GCSE history? For the final two years they will learn about World War one, World War two, up to the Cuban Missile Crisis, I'm assuming, and they will learn that Hitler exterminated 6,000,000 Jews. Well obviously by their own figures that's not the case. Anyway, moving on. You're listening to the Shelley Tasker Show. We've come to the bottom of the hour, and the bottom of the hour cues the start of our music show this week. Yes, call me lazy if you like, but it's been a busy week. And I thought with all the heavy subjects that we always touch upon such as the one that we've started with, maybe we could all just do with a bit of lightning up. You know, I'd much rather a counselor that was up for open debate rather than a counselor that ended up with, Romanian rent boys bombing him bombing his property, I have to say.
Who knows what the truth is about that either? Anyway, never mind. Let's, I'm gonna I'm gonna kick the music hour and a half off with the good old Graham Hart. And, here we go. This is called, this one's For the Boys and it's got to be probably one of my favorite. Actually, yes, it's got to be one of my favorite Graham Hart tunes. Love it. Absolutely love it. Here we go. Graham Hart folks.
[00:31:17] Unknown:
It picks you up and puts you down, and no one seems to give. So take me from a struggle road to where they'll never reach me. I put me in a place and time where all my friends will be. I keep it here inside my head wherever I may be. But when the spirit of Cholani calls, I will not be prevented. Standing up for one and all, my Cornish friends and me.
[00:35:06] Unknown:
The amazing Graham Hart. The amazing Graham Hart. Actually, there was another one of his tunes that I should have played after Pete's Speech, but, I don't actually have a copy of his. So we'll get to that one maybe another day. So this is gonna be a music show this week. As I say, I used to run a music website for quite a long time ago now and I used to host music for original artists. It was called pureoriginal.com. You can still find it on archive.org. I had no idea that people had uploaded it to archive.org, but I don't think any of the music is actually there. But so none of the music I'm about to play is copyright free, but I do have permission to play it.
So, I'm gonna kick off. Oh. I'm gonna kick off with, I'm gonna pick one at random actually. So where's my mouse landed? Okay. This one's this is a tune called Gravity Swimmer by a guy called Mobro. He was, I think I think from Sweden and he called himself Mobro because he had an eyebrow which traveled across from his left eye, all the way across to his right eye. So, yeah, I can guess you I guess you can understand where he got his name from. So this is Gravity Swimmer, folks. Hope you enjoy. It's quite chill, actually.
[00:37:47] Unknown:
Yes.
[00:38:03] Unknown:
Yes.
[00:39:23] Unknown:
Yes. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:41:50] Unknown:
Yeah. It was quite chill actually. I figured even though it was, quite quick beats, it's quite a chill tune. Yes, so that was the Mobro. So this is kind of a pureoriginal.com revisited show, because the website has been down a very very long time. And I had some pretty talented people on there I have to say. So StreamYard currently is is struggling for me to upload things. I've managed to get a few up there, but I might just have to play them from, my desktop here and, you know, do it that way. So bear with me if there's any gaps, between you know, when I start a tune, there might be a little bit of silence. I will try and filibuster as much as I can.
Regular listeners to the show, actually, or regular listeners to Shelley and I, not forgetting that we did the Kurnow connection for probably a couple of years I think. Yeah. The regular listeners will probably recognize the next tune and probably often wondered at the start of the Kurno connection how the tune ended because I actually used it as the, the the intro to the show. This was a collaboration between myself and a guy called Scripto, who was a lovely guy I I met from The States online, obviously, while downloading my dodgy software back in the day. Back in the days of the dodgy, Napster and Kazaa networks where you could download anything and everything you wanted, software and movies and music and all that kind of thing.
Yeah, you would actually it would be a peer to peer. I people would have part of their hard drive open for upload and, anything within that folder could be downloaded, you know, by anyone on the network. And to be part of the network, you had to have a share folder with at least two or three items in it, to be, you know, to to chip in, so to speak. So I got chatting to this guy after I'd downloaded some dodgy hooky software from him. I think it was either Cubase or Reason or something like that back in the day, music software. And I messaged him afterwards saying, thanks so much for leaving your computer on, you know, for so long. Your yours has been the fastest connection.
And, we ended up hitting it off. We we got on pretty well. And, he ended up sending me a legitimate version or semi legitimate version of the software that I was looking for through the post. And he got he got the company he was working for to pay for the FedEx. I thought that was rather rather kind of him or rather kind of his company. Anyway, this is a tune called Dutty and it was it was used as the intro music for the Kerno connection for a couple of years. So, see what we think of this folks. And and those of you that remember the Kerno connection, finally, finally, you get to hear the whole thing. Here you go.
Yeah. I think you'll agree we probably used the best part for the intro of the show. But there we go. Okay. So, currently, StreamYard is having a bit of a brain fart. So, I'm gonna play everything from my desktop. Hence, you will have probably heard part of the next tune play in the middle of that tune. I don't know whether you noticed it, it was almost in key. Quite good actually. I might try remixing that at some point. So this is by, a couple of girls, who uploaded their music to the website, and they call themselves Brainchild at the time. I don't know if they're still making music or not, but this is a song called Ghost Story. So, see how you see how you guys feel about this one. Oh my god. My cat's outside the door meowing and meowing and meowing to be let in. She normally does this, actually, when I'm trying to read from serious things like hidden government and things like that, and I find it really really hard to concentrate. So probably during this the tune I will let her in and sit on my lap. Anyway, this is Ghost Story, by Brainchild. Enjoy.
[00:49:10] Unknown:
That's the only thing left for me. Won't be so bad. Boo hoo. How may a real sky.
[00:49:25] Unknown:
I'll get the hang of it. Oh, Brakdyr's so hard. I'll find myself.
[00:49:33] Unknown:
I know
[00:49:34] Unknown:
how's too hard to be when to feel I have a good memory. I'm sure
[00:50:48] Unknown:
Sweet. As long as I take it off of loop, that is yeah. There we go. I had to switch to, my own desktop software. So, and the loop was on. Sorry about that. Yeah. So, Yeah. Nice little harmonies in there. Nice little bit of piano. Enjoy it. I I, you know, I love listening back to some of these old tunes. And, regular listeners will know that, you know, I quite enjoyed my time on, Twitch TV as well going across all the music channels and listening to all the good and all the bad, as well. There's many many great artists who are I don't wanna use the word unsung, but I suppose it's an appropriate word. There are so many unsung artists on, Twitch TV that you really probably should have their own record contracts and stuff but because, you know, like our like our Westcountry hero, Joss Stone, probably refused to kowtow to all the record contract nonsense and just prefer to go out for themselves.
I am totally down with that. Totally understand. Can you believe when my cat came in a minute ago, she knocked my copy of the communist manifesto off of the off of the arm of the chair. I've had to pick that back up and put it back in put it back in unpride of place. Maybe we ought to cover that at some point on the show. Picked up an amazing copy of it actually. Someone has obviously spent an awful lot of money on having it republished and all the background behind it. And actually in the intro of the book say themselves that this document has caused more death on the planet probably than any other document. I dare say it probably has.
Anyway, almost there. This is gonna be a fun show and a lively show. So I'm gonna give you Broken Romeo now, tune called Falling Down. See what you think of this one folks. Well, there you go. That was a bit more lively, wasn't it? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Great little tune there actually and lyrically, actually quite good I thought. If you wanna have a little listen back in the context of the world we live in, it's it's lyrically. I think that's a pretty good tune. Yeah. So we are we're about four minutes off the bottom of the ass. I'm gonna try and squeeze one more tune in before we what have we got there? Okay. So this is a tune by Jassy called SS Omega.
There we go folks. That was Jesse Yashoko. And the album was called And Then There Was. And I must remember to press pause at the end of each one because I'm on loop on my media player. Yeah. There you go. And Then There Was. So, I I the the album never came out to my knowledge, as did most of the, musicians that I hosted on my website. A few of them are still going and I'm gonna play a tune for you guys after the break that is from a band I believe is still going. Their website is still going, so I believe you can still purchase their music, all that kind of thing. But before I do, you are listening to the Shelley Tasker Show. We are coming live out of RadioSoapbox.com.
Get on your soapbox folks. It's about time, isn't it? Really? Come on. Get out there and say a few words. Come out and say a few things that you believe in instead of sitting at home and watching EastEnders on the television and pretending that your life is as bad as theirs. Yeah. That's what they want you to believe, isn't it? Yeah. Anyway, you are listening live, hopefully, to the Shelley Tasker Show. Shelley is on hiatus at the moment, having a well earned break, has done well over a year, I think, without any kind of, a break at all. She worked really hard. She always gets loads of really interesting guests on and that kind of thing. I can't profess to be nearly as hardworking as she is, so it is definitely a well earned break. And I have to say, and I know I bring it up every week, but she's a lucky lass. The weather is still stunning, and this weekend is gonna be no different. Watch out, Shelley. We might be down your way.
Okeydoke. So before I go any further, I'm gonna play you this one. So we are let's let's go for I'm gonna scroll back up to the a's and oh, no. No. That's mine. I know I'm not gonna play that one. Okay. So this is by, this is by, an artist called Ashley and this is a tune called You Say. Well, this is a bit more sedate. Enjoy
[01:04:16] Unknown:
You say what I want you to say. You touch the way I want to be touched.
[01:07:29] Unknown:
There you go. That was that was quite pleasant, wasn't it? You know, some of these tunes I'm stumbling across, and I remember hearing them years ago, but I'm I'm kind of discovering them fresh again when when I'm listening back to them now. So it's kind of a this is kind of a nice revisit for me. And I hope you guys are in enjoying some of the tunes. I know some of them are a bit out there, and some of them wow. Pureoriginal.com actually catered for anyone, and I gave away unlimited space for anyone that wanted to store their music. So, someone once referred so they sent me, they sent me actually two CDs of their stuff so that I could, you know, get the raw data and upload it properly so that it didn't have to be compressed.
And he sent me a message, sent me a sent me a mail saying, man, you're like the Mother Teresa of music, you know, hosting websites. Wasn't till later years I didn't know I thought I took that as a real compliment at the time, and I'm sure he meant it as such. But, yeah, it wasn't till later years. I I, you know, I found that a bit of a dubious statement, but there we go. Anyone that doesn't understand what I'm talking about, have a little look into I mean, it's either Christopher or Peter Hitchens. I don't know if Christopher Hitchens blew the lid off of, the good Mother Teresa. Let's let's put it that way. Anyway, I said before the break that I would, play a tune by a band that I think are still up and running. You can still go and buy their music. I'll give you the website after their song is played.
But this is a band called Blood Ruby, and I quite often play, a tune of theirs called Remains of the Day because it's just a beautiful tune. But, this one is called Blood Ruby, and I haven't listened to it probably for a good fifteen years. So this will be a revisit for me as well. There you go. Blood Ruby, Bable Bable. She's got a beautiful voice. Her name's Cynthia, actually. We we had a her and her bandmates had a bit of a we all had a bit of a conflag back in the day. If you're interested in listening to any of their tunes, you they are still putting out their music. Actually, if you just put out Blood Ruby, if you put into Google Blood Ruby, all one word, music, and you will come up with various things like SoundClick, SoundCloud, Music Hub, IndieMusicPeople.com, Last FM.
There's there's a fair few places that you could still get a hold of their stuff, so I wish them well. You know, this is yeah. If they've if they if they caught on to the fact that I'm still playing the tunes, I'm really glad because, that was that was my job back in the day, my self appointed job as, as as host for all these different music people. I've got something a little bit that was very, very tranquil. I've got something a little bit more lively for you now, folks. So this is by a band called Body Farm, and the title of the tune is Apprentice.
Yeah. It might not be everyone's cup of tea. I think I remember this one. So it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but nevertheless, here we go. Yeah. Apologies to Shay's audience. It's not really my scene either, but, look, you know, this is just a random selection of tunes that I used to host. Therefore, you gotta, you know, you take the rough with the smooth. I'm afraid. Yeah. Little bit over the top, I think, that one. But, you know, I I think he was breathing in for most of that most of that song. So, anyway, this is something a little bit little bit little bit more lighthearted. Hopefully hopefully, we're in we're in b's now. This is a guy called Brad Burge and, I'm just gonna pick the first tune off of the list.
This is called I've been a fool. Come on, Brit. That's a bit better, isn't it? Yeah. That's a bit more lighthearted.
[01:20:51] Unknown:
I thought I had my reasons, but even that day, I thought that there were reasons
[01:23:06] Unknown:
Been a fool, been a fool.
[01:23:09] Unknown:
Yes. Could have come around to thinking my way Could have been different
[01:25:18] Unknown:
Definitely a lot more lighthearted. That was Brad Burge. If you, Brad, if you put in Brad Burge Music into Google, there is a Spotify list. There is also a YouTube Brad, stop it now. Sorry. That's my fault. It's not Brad's. There's also a YouTube link with, with the name Brad Burge in it. So I could only assume that he may still well be making music. Cute. That crikey. That tune is, like, 20 years old, easily. More than 20 years old. Probably about 22, 20 three years old, that tune. So, yeah. It was definitely a lot more lighthearted than the last one, though. And I I like the lyrics. You know, I've been thinking about the fellow that I've become, I've become.
I'm not done yet, but I've changed some. God. Doesn't that ring true for a lot of us? Crikey. You know, what a journey life is when you when you think about it that way. What a journey all our own lives are when we think about, you know, the things that we have to unlearn and the things that we have to sort of take on board to become better people. And anyone that turns around and says, well, I'm a nice person already. Yeah. You're fooling yourself. There's there's always something there's always something underlying that, you know, you you wish you could get a grip of. I I kinda like that lyric. That's good. I like that. I I approve. I approve.
Okay. So, I've skipped all the way down to m now. This is a band called Moole, which I was partially involved with back in the day. I'm gonna pick a tune at random. Where's my mouse? Oh, okay. Yeah. So I think I do, Yeah. At least it's not one that I do lead vocal for. So I do backing vocals on this one, I think. This is a tune called Not Alone. This is this is over twenty years. It's twenty years old as well, folks. So, bear with me. I think this is one of the first bands that I got involved in. So, yeah. Here you go. Not alone.
I think I'm backing vocals and lead on this one.
[01:29:59] Unknown:
Just an hour's time to go, please give a look to let me know. Clear the clock, it's stiking twice, but nothing will look and suffice. Just around the corner bears a falsifying set of She's in an looking sim. I wonder where the air begins. Sorry eyes are telling lies. She hums a little lullaby.
[01:32:27] Unknown:
Crawling around her family. Do you think you found any other
[01:33:42] Unknown:
Yeah. Not my best bit of lead, really, being honest, but, you know, I was well, was I, like, 19, 20 years old when we when we did that? Crikey. So we're coming on thirty years ago. Oh. Oh. How time passes and how old you feel when you suddenly realize something that was 20 years old is actually ten years older than you thought it was. Oh, dear. Never mind. Let's move on with the next one. So this is by a a lady called, Melissa Kerber, and it's called Carve Your Heart Out. Now I'm just gonna I've got two versions of this. So I'm gonna see which one is the best version. Oh, there we go. So that one's a little bit of a larger file. So it should be a a better quality version.
This one's called carve your heart. Sounds promising.
[01:35:56] Unknown:
To keep you're
[01:38:11] Unknown:
I have to say, actually, I'd forgotten all about that tune, and that's probably one of the best produced tunes I've played this evening. Really, really that was really well put together and, yeah. Wow. I'll probably listen to that again after the show. It was a nice tune. So Melissa Kerber, I'm not sure if she's still making music. There is a Melissa Kerber that comes up on Google when you, have a little look through, but I'm gonna have to have a little listen back myself after the show to see if it's the same vocal. Yeah. Who knows? Like I say, most of the music that I hosted back in those days wouldn't you know, most of the music that I hosted back in those days, yeah, I I never knew back then whether you know, none of us knew back then whether we'd make it as musicians. I certainly didn't.
As I say, you gotta take the rough with the smooth on this show. We're going on to another band named well, the I don't know Goodwin Bets is the name of the band. I don't know whether that is somebody's name or whether it's just an amalgamation of names. As I say, I hosted these tunes indiscriminately. So, this one's called The Choice and, well, as I say, gotta take the rough with the smooth. We'll see what this brings. That was that last one by Melissa Kerber was probably my favorite one of the show so far. I'd forgotten all about that one. That was lovely.
Okay. Goodwin Bets, The Choice. Sounds ominous.
[01:39:59] Unknown:
I cannot feel the things I feel. I cannot breathe in
[01:40:05] Unknown:
when all around me so confused and you're not there.
[01:42:05] Unknown:
Well, that was short and sweet, wasn't it? That was short and sweet but rather good. Not nearly as well produced as the last one but wow, yeah. Okay, so this next one is by a guy called Martin Diamond and I've got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11 tunes by him. So, it's kind of a toss-up between whoo do I go for pedantic romantic or for do I go for chilling USA? I think we'll go for chilling USA. Pedantic romantic we can leave for another another Shelley Tasker music show. Let's see how we go. We are actually, coming up for we're we're we're coming close to the top of the hour, so I'm gonna try and get in a a couple of other ones that weren't necessarily on pureoriginal.com.
As I say, that's my old website. You can go and find it on archive.org, but you won't find any of the music there. But you'll see the sentiment behind the website, and you'll see the the names of the hosts, etcetera, etcetera that I used to host for, names of the musicians that I used to host for. Yeah. It this has actually been a really nice journey for me. I don't I don't know what you guys thought, but, yeah, it's it's been a nice kick back and chill out. So that's why I'm going for that's why I'm going for Chillin USA by Martin Diamond. Let's see what let's see what this brings.
Just chilling USA. Yeah. I like it. I kinda like the filter that they put on the guitar for the for the chorus. That was that was kinda cool. Wow. I've got so many tunes that I could play you guys and we're running out of time. One tune I really wanna play for you guys, well, I might leave it till the outro, but I'm gonna have to be very careful about, so that's it's four minutes thirty nine. So what we are now okay. So I I'm gonna get another tune in. Who should I play? Okay. So this is by a band called Celtic, spelled k e l t e c, Keltec.
A play on words for Celtic and technology, I suppose. I knew the guy, I knew the guy who made this music really well, so I know the music really well. I just wanted to play one of his tunes, just to give him a tip of the hat, really. I haven't spoken to him for years. Last I heard, he was teaching English over in Japan and, you know, why they should need to learn English when they have a heritage which dates back over 7,000 years. I'm not I'm not sure. But anyway, this one's called seven seconds. Check out that nineties style midi. Brilliant. I was I was actually in the, in the chalet, in his little chalet in the garden while he was creating that music. And, the girl who did the singing was a a a young girl called Emma, who is not so young anymore, I'm assuming.
And his name was Francis. Francis Doyle, his name was absolutely, really, really talented guy back in the day. He was the guy that introduced me into making music on the computer. And, yeah. Wow. What amazing technology it was back then. So look, I'm gonna finish up with this last song. It's not from pureoriginal.com. It's actually, was created by my cousin. My estranged cousin, I haven't spoken to her for a long time. I let her down a few years back and, she's never forgiven me. But, a tip of the hat to her because this is such a beautiful song. I'm really, really, really proud to to call her my cousin. So bear, bear with me if there's any adverts at the beginning of this because this is coming off of YouTube. You can find it, simply by typing in Tradewinds Helen Shepherd.
Beautiful tune. Let's see how we go.
[01:55:16] Unknown:
Any adverts? The resin.
[01:55:19] Unknown:
No. Doesn't look like it. Here we go. Beautiful tune, Anne. Lots of love to you, Helen, if you're listening.
[01:55:36] Unknown:
Sometimes I have to get away to liberate myself and disendangle these strings. I'll attach themselves to because when things are right with you, the resonance is pure. True. But when it swings the other way, I feel I've got to get away. And I'll cry to the train wheels. And I'll cry to the train wheels. I'll exchange my view to something new and something borrowed something. I'll see old friends and be all nice that my life is better through the I've been talking about my mom and daddy's ass. I've been talking about my knowledge, and he's asking to be a lesson in adding.
And all these things I fail to see that sometimes come to trouble me. And I'll cry
[01:58:53] Unknown:
to
[01:58:59] Unknown:
the train
[01:59:21] Unknown:
