Some very, very important stuff has taken place in the course of the day.
And I wanted to start with this one because this is really I mean this is really critical, this is huge. Alright? This is this is something that happened earlier today, actually happened this morning, and, it ties into something we were talking about yesterday, and we've talked about quite a bit, since we started doing the show, and that's, USAID. That's, the and, and and the auditing that's been taking place there through Doge, and, something very interesting has taken place here. Yesterday, we told you that, secretary of state Marco Rubio, terminated, 5,200 contracts that were, that USAID I'm gonna take the banner off. I forgot. Sorry.
There we go. The 5,200, contracts that USAID, was was, holding on to that were not in the best interests of the national security of The United States. And it kinda makes you wonder what those contracts were. So they terminated those contracts, which are about 83 or 85% of the contracts, leaving only about 1,500 contracts in place. And, today today, USAID official tells remaining staffers, shred and burn all of your documents. Now, the interesting thing is, this story comes from Politico, which is a left wing, news outlet. They broke this story, basically. They they they're the first ones to report on it.
A senior you a senior official at USAID instructed the agency's remaining staff to convene at the agency's now former headquarters in Washington on Tuesday for an all day group effort to destroy documents stored there, many of which contain sensitive information. Now, and this is at the Ronald Reagan Building in in Washington. An email that was sent by USAID's executive director, Erica Carr, her the acting director, was obtained by Politico. And this is what it said. I tried to I tried to get a clip of it. I saw it on another news broadcast, but I wasn't able to find the clip. But the email said this, shred as many documents first and reserve the burn bags for when the shredder becomes unavailable or needs a break.
Carr also instructed the staff to to label the burn bags with the words secret and USAID slash B slash IO, which is just shorthand for, bureau or independent office in a dark Sharpie. The email didn't specify any particular reason for the document destruction. The building is being emptied out after, mass layoffs, which have disrupted routine document destruction timetables. Customs and Border Protection is planning to move into the USAID facility, having rented the, the office space in the building last month. Now, this is very, very important.
This is very big. This is an a very, very big news story because nothing like this has really happened before. Where an, where an or where an agency has been audited, and has been basically gutted. Funding has been taken away from them. Even even, USAID staff, former staff, said that they've never seen anything like this. They went out to say, everyone with a safe is supposed to keep it up to date and destroy documents when they no longer need to be stored. Sometimes security will check your safe and tell you if you have to clean out your old material. Said the former staffer who was granted anonymity due to fear of possible reprisals by the Trump administration.
So now, of course, you're gonna you're gonna get the, you know, the left wing bias and all this stuff, but, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced this week that more than 80% of USAID's programs have been canceled, and the remaining one remaining ones will be administered by the state department, which is fine, which is which is the way it should have been in the first place. But what's big about this is the documentation that's being destroyed, and this is this is secret, classified information. The question is, what are they hiding?
What was so bad in those documents that they needed to be destroyed as quickly as possible? That's what they were doing all day today. This message went out, this email went out in the morning, and they gathered together this morning to do this. What were they destroying? And the problem is by destroying these documents, we'll we'll we'll probably never know. We'll probably never know what they were hiding. We'll probably never know what organizations they were giving money to. Again, 5,200 contracts, 5,000, two hundred contracts, where The United States' best interests were not at heart.
This is the deep state trying to protect itself. What do you think about it? Let me know. Drop a message down in the chat or the, we could drop a comment down below. Love to get your thoughts on that. What are they hiding? How will we will we be able to find out? Is it possible that there are some computer records somewhere? Some archived records that those can pull out, find? When are we gonna start seeing people being taken off in Ancos? Where is Kash Patel? Where is Pam Bondi? These are important questions we need to ask. Alright, folks. And with that, what we're gonna do here is we are going to cut our feed to YouTube.
Usually we do that after we go through the the brief opening, but I forgot to do it tonight. But, so folks, if you're watching on YouTube right now, we're gonna invite you to come over to Rumble. Join us over there. We would love to have you there. We're keeping in line with our fifteen to twenty minutes of the show, on livestream on on YouTube. And, when we switch over, you're gonna get a green screen. It's gonna show you that we're still live, the show is still going on, but if you wanna see it, you're gonna have to come over to come over to Rumble. Same thing on for the folks that are watching on x, you're gonna have to come over to Rumble, rumble Com / joerus, or, just look up joerus on your, on your mobile, on the app if you're using that, and, we will be very, very happy to see you over there very, very soon. Alright. We'll see you later.
Alright. So now that it's just us again. Some more interesting news today, and more breaking news. You guys know about the continuing resolution that that's, been, Kind of debated back and forth, whether or not it was going to actually happen to keep the federal government funded funded through September. So, today, the House of Representatives approved a temporary stopgap spending bill, to fund the government at current levels through the end of the fiscal year. The measure passed the lower chamber in a two seventeen to two thirteen vote with, only one Democrat crossing the aisle, and, representative Thomas Massie, from Kentucky, the sole Republican, may vote on the whole thing. And now it's gonna head over to the senate where it still it still needs to have 60 votes to pass. Now, senator Rand Paul has already said that he's he's probably not gonna be, voting for the bill. He's gonna oppose the bill, and, if he does that, that means that the Republicans are gonna need, I think it's eight Democrats in the chamber for it to pass.
And, of course, there's the the deadline of this coming Friday for it to, to to, to pass. This way, we could avoid the shutdown. Now, you know, they use that term shutdown a lot. It's not the government doesn't shut down. You know, essential services continue. You know, you're still gonna get your Social Security checks. You're still gonna get your Medicaid and Medicare. All that stuff stays funded. The military stays funded. Everything pretty much stays funded. But, you know, some offices would close and and and whatnot. So, the government, it's not gonna shut down. Alright? The Democrats like to throw that out there. Even the Republicans say it too, but but mostly it's a Democrat scare tactic. You know, they're gonna shut down the government, they're gonna shut down the government.
But in this particular bill, what they're it's and and it's not a it's not really a clean perfectly clean bill, you know. It but it includes an additional $6,000,000,000 for defense. It it includes $6,000,000,000 for veteran health veterans health care. It also includes $10,000,000,000 for, immigration and customs enforcement, or or ICE, and, and a reduction of non defense spending. So, I mean, it's not it's not perfect. Okay? We we understand that it's not perfect, but it's it's something that needs to take place in order to keep keep things moving along until September when the when the actual budget comes out, and we could actually have solid cuts. You know, it's gonna take time.
It's gonna take time to fix what Joe Biden's administration did over the four years that he had. Now I don't think it's gonna take the Trump administration four years to fix it. I think it's gonna happen rather quickly, and I think that's gonna happen come September once, you know, once we actually get a budget. So, just hold on tight. You know, I I know it stinks. I I know, you know, this is you know, we you know, supporters of of president Trump, MAGA people, you know, and I I do consider myself MAGA. Even though even though I support Texas independence, and even though I I wanna see Texas stand on its own as an independent nation, and I and I work with an organization that does that, I am still MAGA. I do support the MAGA agenda, until texted happens. So, so I understand that this may not necessarily be the the the perfect bill to put through. I'm I understand that, you know, we are trying to cut spending, not add to spending, but it's gonna take time for that to happen. So we just gotta be patient. We gotta just I hate to say that. Yeah. I hate to say that catchphrase, you know, trust the plan.
You know, because you heard that so much, you know, ad nauseam. Trust the plan. Trust the plan. Trust the plan. But in this case, yeah, you gotta trust it. You gotta trust the process here. We have to just knuckle down, stay on talk, stay on point, stay on target, and just wait this out. A lot of good things are gonna happen between now and September. A lot of bad things are gonna happen between now and September. That's just the nature of politics. It's just the nature of American politics. We just gotta hold the line. Don't freak out.
Just hold the line. Alright. So we're also all very well aware of what's been going on with the tariffs situation with Canada. We, we we understand, that the the premier of Ontario what was his name? I just had it. Doug Ford. So Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario, threatened, to put a 25% surcharge on electricity, that's provided to, some of the northern states, like New York and, and some of the some of the states up there, Maine, I think, as well. Saying that, you know, because Donald Trump has put is threatening to put these tariffs on Canada that, you know, they're they're he's going to, you know, put this 25% tariff on electricity that's coming in, so it'll cost, more, you know, for for electricity.
But, Donald Trump, you know, he he criticized it, of course, and rightly so. And, he and and he said that, well, he went out to Truth Social. But one thing that, one thing that, Ford also said was is that, once the, April 2 reciprocal tariff is going to to effect, Doug Ford, the Ontario premier, said that he is prepared to actually shut the electricity off completely. And so not just add tariffs to it, but shut it off completely, which is going to three states, in The United States, and which is, you know, just continue to escalate, its tariffs against this against, Canada.
So, Trump posted up on Truth Social. Let me see if I have it. I believe we do. Right here. Despite the fact that Canada is charging The US from 250% to 390% tariffs on many of our farm products, Ontario just announced a 25% surcharge on electricity of all things. And you're not even allowed to do that. Because our tariffs are reciprocal, we'll just get it back on April 2. Canada is a tariff abuser and always has been, but The United States is not gonna be subsidizing Canada any longer. We don't need your cars. We don't need your lumber. We don't need your energy, and very soon, you'll find that out. Make America great again.
Now you need to understand something about this tariff situation. Everybody is up in arms about, you know, The United States is putting tariffs and tariff, you know, The United States is heavily tariffed by other countries. India, merciless with their tariffs. Canada, tariffs on everything. Here, Canadian tariffs on US goods, a 270% dairy tariff. Sausage, 69.9%. Barley seed, 57.8%. Durham wheat, 49%. Twenty six point five on on meat. 18% on table linens. But yet, people say that a 25% tariff on Canada is unfair. Look at that. Just look at that.
Tariffs are heavily skewed against The United States, and it's about time we put the tariffs back. It's about time we we start getting some of this money back. We have been abused by countries with tariffs. Mexico also, Mexico has tariffs on on many of the goods that come from come through The United States, and they are merciless. So The United States putting a 25% tariff on on goods going into Canada, I don't think is a problem. And that's why they're reciprocal tariffs. Reciprocal basically meaning that it's the same amount that you're tar you're you're putting tariffs on for us. Ford then added that if The United States escalates, I will not hesitate to shut the electricity off completely. Believe me when I say I do not wanna do this. I feel terrible for the American people because it's not the American people who started this trade war. It's one person responsible. That's president Trump.
So the little back and forth went on throughout the throughout the day. Then, after after, after the the threat of shutting off the electricity and after the, the threat of increasing, you know, tariffs once again. Today, president Donald Trump said that he would, be doubling the tariff on aluminum, as well as steel on Canadian imports to The United States, while also saying that it only makes sense for Canada to become the fifty first state. Donald Sherholm said in a Truth Social post, based on Ontario Canada placing a 25% tariff on electricity come to United States, I have instructed my secretary of commerce to add an additional 25% tariff to 50% on all steel and aluminum coming into The United States from Canada, One of the highest tariffing nations anywhere in the world. This will go into effect tomorrow morning, March 12.
Also, Canada must immediately drop their anti American farmer tariff of 250% to 390% on various US dairy products, which has long been considered outrageous. I will shortly be declaring a national emergency on electricity within the threatened areas. I will this will allow The US to quickly do what has to be done to alleviate the abusive threat from Canada. If other egregious long time tariffs are not likewise dropped by Canada, I will substantially increase on April 2 the tariffs on cars coming into The US, which will essentially permanently shut down the automobile manufacturing business in Canada. Those cars can be easily made in The USA.
Also, Canada pays very little for national security, relying on The United States for military protection. We are subsidizing Canada to the tune of more than $200,000,000,000 a year. Why? This cannot continue. The only thing that makes sense is for Canada be to become our cherished fifty first state. This would make all tariffs and everything else totally disappear. Canadians' taxes will be will be very substantially reduced, and they will be more secure militarily and otherwise than ever before. There would be there would no longer be a northern border problem, and the greatest and most powerful nation in the world will be bigger, better, and stronger than ever. And Canada will be a big part of that. The artificial line of separation, drawn many years ago, will finally disappear, and we will have the safest and most beautiful nation anywhere in the world. And your brilliant anthem, oh Canada, will continue to play, but now representing a great and powerful state within the greatest nation that the world has ever seen.
Alright. So, I, I don't necessarily care for the idea of Canada becoming the fifty first state. I really don't. And and the reason is is that Canada is largely left leaning, very left leaning. And we don't need to add any more of that to the mess that we already have here. So I'm I'm really not crazy about the idea of Canada become the fifty first state. I I don't have an objection to Greenland, become the fifty first state if they want to, or maybe the fiftieth state when Texas leaves, you know. You know how that works.
Give one, get one, you know. So all the talk of the fifty first state with with Canada, I I really don't don't care about. But, following following that message, can you believe that Canada caved in? Ontario premier Ford suspends electricity surcharge after Trump hiked steel and aluminum tariffs. President Donald Trump has already achieved his first victory in the ongoing trade war with Canada as Ontario premier Doug Ford revealed he is suspending the 25% tax on electricity exported to The United States just hours after POTUS hiked Canadian steel and aluminum tariffs.
Ford revealed that he talked with United States Secretary Of Commerce Howard Lutnick on Tuesday that the pair had come to an agreement suspending the 25% church surcharge on electricity sent to America. Quote, secretary Lutnick agreed to officially meet with Premier Ford in Washington on Thursday, March 13, alongside The United States Trade Representative to discuss a renewed USMCA ahead of the April 2 reciprocal tariff deadline. And, that was from the a press release. And, how quickly how quickly things change. Just, just a day or so ago, we were talking about completely shutting off electricity to, to several US states, escalating the trade war, to, you know what? Let's sit down and talk. We're not we won't put the tariffs on.
Because they realized that president Trump is not kidding around. He's not playing games with this. That that he's serious. Donald Trump's goal is to make America great again, to make America prosperous again, to make America not being taken advantage of, And that's all great. That is great. That is fine by me. Do what you have to do. This is what I voted for. I saw something on Twitter, which, you know, I'll I'll come to when I get to this particular subject a little bit more detail, but somebody had posted something about, it was a it was a a rant about closing the Department of Education or returning the department or returning education to the states, letting the states take over as they did prior to the nineteen seventies.
And, the question was, you know, to all you MAGA people, is this what you've is this what you voted for? Yes. This is what I voted for. Yes. The reduction of the federal government, the the the downsizing of the federal government, the elimination of unconstitutional and unnecessary federal departments, returning more power to the states where it belongs. We have to remember that the states created the federal government, not vice versa. The states over the years have ceded a lot of authority and control to this to the federal government, both on the right and on the left.
So, you know, it's time for the states to take that back, and this is what president Trump is doing. And I support it. I voted for this. I wanna see this happen. There's a lot of departments that I wanna see gotten rid of. I wanna see I wanna see abolished. I think the Department of Energy needs to go. I think that the I think the, I think the IRS has to go. I don't think there should be any income tax. I think income taxes are immoral. I think they're illegal. I don't think the sixteenth amendment was ratified properly. So I don't I don't even think that's a legitimate amendment to the constitution.
Another story another time, and we'll get into that another day. But, it's time for this. It's time to downsize. We this this this this federal system has gotten so bloated, so big, and you're seeing you're seeing the results of that right now. You're seeing the results of it and what DOGE is pulling out, finding trillions of dollars of of mismanaged money. I found this piece earlier, today, on the National Pulse. Medicaid, over the last decade, issued you ready for this? Over the last ten years, have issued over $1,100,000,000,000 in improper payments.
That's $1,100,000,000,000 of of taxpayer money that was improperly spent, improperly sent out. This is why the system needs to come down. This is why the system needs to be, stripped down to the bare minimum, with all of these things turned back to the states, there's more accountability. That way, the state government is closer to the citizen, the citizen has more control, and more say in the state operation than the state government. The federal government is just bureaucracy. Unaccountable, unelected. Who was it that said I think it was Benjamin Franklin said that he would rather have he would he would rather have, tyrants 300 miles away to deal with than tyrants 3,000 miles away.
There's wisdom in that. So, yeah, this is what I voted for. This is what I want. I'm very happy with the way things are going. Yeah. It's a little nerve wracking. You know, you you see all the negative comments. You see all that you see the the the crybaby left reacting and acting like children, spoiled children. You see the swamp defending itself. You see the you you see the attacks on Elon Musk. Look, you know, Elon Musk didn't have to do this. Elon Musk gave up, you know, a a a fairly stable life. For this, I think the American people owe Elon Musk a a huge debt of gratitude for what he's putting himself through, for what he's putting his family through, his children through, constantly in the spotlight.
In a lot of ways, it's kinda, you know, I I just I just thought of this, it it's kind of it's kinda interesting. It it it's it's kinda brilliant actually. The media and the left are so off balance with all of this. They don't know who to go after. They don't know that the they're they're focusing all of their energy on what Elon Musk is doing, which which frees up president Trump to do what he needs to do. You you understand what I'm saying? You follow me? You follow the logic there? Now I know Elon Musk is not, and I'm I'm saying this for a reason, because I know someone's gonna, you know, have something to say about it. Even though Elon Musk is not an elected, part of the administration, you know, he was appointed, and no matter how many times the left likes to call him a co president with Donald Trump, the the concept is this, you know, you it's tactical.
You let your second command attack while you sit and watch for weakness, and that's something that I that's just an idea that I had, you know, just now. Maybe that's what it is. But regardless of the fact, Elon Musk is owed a huge debt of gratitude by the American people for what he's doing. Again, he doesn't have to do any of this. None of this is is, like, you know, he lives a very, a very privileged life. He does not need the stress and aggravation. He's doing this because he loves this country. He loves what this country has done for him. And I know you're probably saying, well, you know, you can't speak for, for Elon Musk, you can't you you, you know, you can't put words in his mouth. No. I know that.
But his actions speak volumes. Volumes. Alright. Let's get on with some of this stuff here. Okay. So, let's see. We talked about that. We talked about this. But so what I was trying to get to is, with Elon Musk, there's this narrative out there that that Elon Musk, through Doge, is trying to, cut entitlements. He wants to cut Social Security. He wants to cut, Medicare, Medicaid, and so on and so forth. After Elon Musk appeared in an interview with Larry Kudlow and said that he would like to see the Trump administration cut out waste and fraud happening in in the entitlement system in in The US, Democrats and and the media, went out and they started to spread the claim completely out of context that he's he's wanting to slash the programs themselves, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid.
Let's see. Is that the clip you want? So Elon so this is this is the this is a fact post on Twitter. Fact post used to be the former, Kamala Harris HQ, Twitter account. They they just rebranded themselves to Factpost. Well, they posted about this clip. They posted the same clip that I'm gonna play for you, and and they said that Elon Musk says he wants to eliminate programs like Social Security Medicare entitlements, and that's the big one to eliminate. But,
[00:42:22] Unknown:
is that what he said? I mean, the the way it's important in in entitlement spending, you know, which is, all of the which is most of the federal spending is entitlements. So that that's that's, like, the big one to eliminate. You know, that's the sort of half trillion, maybe $6,700,000,000,000 a year.
[00:42:42] Unknown:
Now did he say he was gonna cut entitlements? I didn't hear him say that. I didn't hear him say that at all. You see what what they completely leave out is was posted by, rapid response. Why did you completely leave out the fact that Elon said he wants to eliminate over 500,000,000,000 of waste in entitlement spending? Fraud risk management, twenty eighteen twenty twenty two. Data show federal government loses an estimated 233,000,000,000 to 521,000,000,000 annually to fraud. To fraud. That's what he's talking about. So again, Elon Musk is out here. We have a little bit of dead air there. I have I have so many articles here that I'm I'm kinda looking through.
So the the whole point of the whole point what I'm trying to say is that the whole point is that, you know, Elon Musk is is going is is is on the receiving end of so many of these attacks. Again, Tesla. And Donald Trump did something great today. He he purchased a Tesla, in support of Elon Musk. And, you know, the left seems to think that Elon Musk is, you know, down and out. He's he's, you know, they're doing some damage to him. You know, I'm sure there's a little bit here or there. I know stock prices have dropped down a little bit, but that's that's not a horrible thing because now more people can step up and they can purchase stock. They can get more invested in the company, and that's exactly what's happening. Guys like Rob Schneider, are purchasing more stock in in Tesla.
I'm actually considering purse purchasing some stock some more stock in Tesla. I have a little bit myself. Not a lot. I'm not, like, you know, crazy with it, but, I'm not a big fan of electric vehicles, but I I believe in what Elon Musk is doing. So, I'll support him any way that I can. But, you know, the terrorist attacks that that are that are taking place against his his, against the charging stations that we we talked yesterday about several charging stations burned down. We talked about, the the overtaking of the, Tesla showrooms in New York and, you know, all over the country by these organized groups that are being funded through organizations like ActBlue, which is in trouble itself, With funding from from from people like George Soros and and others dumping loads, you know, coordinate none of this stuff is organic, like we said yesterday.
This is all coordinated. These are all coordinated hits and attacks against Elon Musk to try to demoralize and keep him out of this and distract him from what he's doing with Doge and, to cause him as much financial, discomfort as they possibly can. And then, of course, you have the hit pieces, you know, going after this, you know, to cut entitlements, when all we all we're doing here is we're looking to cut fraud, waste, and abuse. And this isn't something new. This isn't something that the Democrats haven't said. I remember in 02/2010 or so, Nancy Pelosi was very vocal about eliminating fraud, waste, and and, abuse in Medicare and Medicaid.
Schmucky Schumer said the same thing. That in order to keep cost down for the average American, they have to, you know, root out fraud, waste, and abuse in in a lot of these, these offices, like like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and so on out of these entitlement programs. It's okay for them to say that, but when we say that, when the right says that, when someone like Elon Musk says that, all of a sudden it it's evil. It's it's it's it's the reason why they say that is because when they had the ability to control it, they didn't do it because a lot of that fraud, waste, and abuse was going into their pockets.
That's why you have somebody who's making a hundred and $74,000 a year going into congress, or, or 200,000 a year going into the senate, comes out after two to four years, a multimillionaire. They get involved with all of these organizations and schemes, and we we outlined a scheme yesterday on that. Check out the show yesterday, you'll find out what I'm talking about. And they come out of there, you know, multi millionaires dictate to you how you can spend $600 And of course, they're screaming about the the rebate, the refund that you can, that that they're talking about issuing out the $5,000 to to the American taxpayer.
See, to them that's fraud, waste, and abuse. We'll not talk about that one. This is another big one too, this is something else that we've been talking about the last few days. This is Remember we talked about the the auto pen situation? Did you know that, there were six criminals that were pardoned with the Biden auto pen, signed in the city of Washington on the same day that Joe Biden was on vacation and golfing in Saint Croix. Folks, who's behind the auto pen? Just take a look at this. This is the oversight project. They analyzed Joe Biden's January nineteenth pardons for the Biden family members, Anthony Fauci, general Milley, the j six committee, and Gerald Lundergan.
They all have the same exact Biden auto pen signature. Who controlled the auto pen? Now last week, the attorney general for, the for Missouri, Andrew Bailey, asked the justice department to, to investigate whether the house whether the White House staff was, you know, basically, you know, taking advantage of of of Joe Biden's diminished cognitive state, and used the auto pen to sign off on all of these these pardons, the these, far left executive orders that that came out, at the end of the presidency, and, without his knowledge. The Missouri attorney general Andrew Bailey said, quote, I am demanding the DOJ investigate whether president Biden's cognitive decline allowed unelected staff to push through radical policy without his knowledge, without his knowing approval.
If in fact Biden staffers were exploiting his mental decline, those orders are null and void. Bailey also cited, Joe Biden's decision to commute the the federal death sentences of nearly 40 prisoners on death row. Staffers and the vice president cannot constitutionally evade accountability by laundering far left orders through a man who does not know what he is signing. If in fact it's been occurring, excuse me, then all these orders are void. So folks, who who was making these decisions? Who? Who was really running the country while Joe Biden occupied the White House? Those are very important questions.
Very important questions. The Oversight Project gathered every document they could find with Biden's signature, all used the same auto pen, except for the announcement that he was dropping out of the twenty twenty four election. We gathered every document we could find with Biden's signature over the course of his presidency, all used the same auto pen signature, except the announcement that the former president was dropping out of the presidential race. On Monday, the the oversight project revealed six criminals were were pardoned by Biden's autopen on 12/30/2022 while Joe Biden was vacationing and golfing in Saint Croix.
The autopen pardons were all signed at the city of Washington while Joe Biden was in The US Virgin Islands. So again, who was behind the auto pen that signed all these pardons? Well, the investigation is gonna continue, and we are certainly hoping that the FBI and, Pam Bondi, the attorney general, will bring charges in this. This is serious business, folks. Who was running the country? Now, one of my favorite characters of this administration is Tom Homan. I don't think I've made that, any less obvious. I I love his attitude. I love his work ethic, and I love the fact that he doesn't take anybody's bullshit, and he puts it out there, calls it out there on on the spot.
Well, as you know, the race baiter in charge, at the, in in in congress, Jasmine Crockett, recently made a statement that, coming into the country illegally is not illegal. She says it's not a crime. Well, she's not, of course, the only mental midget in congress to, to say that. There's also a line that was repeated by AOC. Even though they've been it's been explained over and over and over again that title eight of the US code thirteen twenty five clearly states that it is a crime to illegally come into The United States. Here's Tom Homan.
[00:54:35] Unknown:
Is it a crime or a misdemeanor to enter the country illegally?
[00:54:40] Unknown:
It's a crime to enter the country illegally. And title eight, United States code thirteen twenty five, and it's really really pathetic that any member of congress don't understand what the law says. They wrote the law. They enacted the law. It was signed by president. It's a criminal violation that entered country illegally. If you you ventured it be, prior, it's a felony. So, you know, I've been saying this for I don't know how long in your show. Yeah. And I I I had to educate AOC what years ago during the hearing that it's a crime that enters country illegally, and we're gonna enforce those laws.
[00:55:10] Unknown:
Now the statute says very clearly that anyone who enters or attempts to enter The US at any time or place other than design as designated by immigration officers or eludes inspection by immigration officials could face jail time of up to six months for a first offense or two years if already convicted once. And, of course, Jasmine Crockett has had not had any response. Here's some more great news, and, I think we're probably gonna have to wrap it up at this point here, because we're getting pretty close to our time.
But, nearly half of the Department of Education staff will be eliminated imminently. Trump repeat repeatedly has said that he would like to see the education see education move back to The States. They'll, receive a reduction in forced notices Tuesday, before nearly half the department's workforce is terminated. Earlier Tuesday, a memo was sent to all education department employees informing them that the Department of Education offices will be closed Tuesday evening through Wednesday due to security reasons. Employees were instructed to leave the office by 6PM eastern time Tuesday.
Linda McMahon, the, newly appointed secretary of education, called the move a significant step toward restoring the greatness of the American education system. Gotta remember, like Donald Trump had said, and this is verifiably true, that since the United States Department of Education came into being, The United States went from the top in education in the world to the bottom. Almost dead last. The only place that has to do with education that The United States is top in is the cost per student. How much money we spend on each student, which is obviously not translating into test scores, passing test scores, reading ability.
It's not working. So the Department of Education, obviously, is a failure. Obviously, you'll be better off back in The States, and that's what we're doing. So, 1,300 employees, will be laid off as, as Donald Trump moves to close down the agency. So, education secretary, Lynn McMann has endorsed determination and downsizing efforts, stating that her goal, her end goal, would be to turn the department's authority over to the individual states. So, agreed. Alright. And then, the last thing that we wanna close out with, we had some, you know, good news on the, Ukraine front here. After some, after some conversation today, with, with representatives from Ukraine, senator, senator Rubio. Well, I guess, secretary Rubio, and, secretary Rubio came out and made these announcements.
[00:58:13] Unknown:
Today, we've made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted, which is to enter into a ceasefire and into immediate, negotiations to end this conflict in a way that's enduring and sustainable and accounts for their interest, their security, their ability to prosper as a nation. I I wanna personally thank we both wanna thank the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its majesty for hosting us, for making this possible. They've been instrumental in this process, and we're very grateful to them for hosting us here today. And, you know, hopefully, we'll we'll take this offer now to the Russians. And we hope that they'll say yes, that they'll say yes to peace. The ball is now in their court. And, but again, the the president's objective here is number one, above everything else, he wants the war to end. And I think today Ukraine has taken a concrete step in that regard. We hope the Russians will reciprocate.
[00:58:58] Unknown:
So yeah. So that's great news. We got a a thirty day ceasefire, on the horizon here. So we're now just waiting to see what the Russian delegation has to say on this, and I have a feeling that they're they're gonna accept it. And, because I I think they they wanna end this as well. And, we have to applaud, secretary Rubio, and, national security adviser, Mike Waltz, for the work that they did on on, bringing about the ceasefire. And, of course, the, of course, president Trump for the insistence that this has to happen, and it has to happen now. It needs to come to an end.
