Tonight, we tackle a range of topics, from the exhaustion of daily life to the intricacies of political machinations. Despite being tired, I share my thoughts on the relentless pace of life and the challenges of keeping up with current events.
In this episode, I reflect on the recent show with Ashley Colwell, a relationship expert, and discuss upcoming interviews with guests like Jack Kammer, a social worker focusing on men's mental health. We also explore the cultural differences between New York and Texas, particularly the surprising February warmth in Eagle Pass, Texas.
We delve into the controversial topic of USAID's involvement in political matters, including its alleged role in the impeachment of President Trump. This segment highlights the complexities of government funding and media influence, raising questions about transparency and accountability.
Additionally, I share insights into the Texas Nationalist Movement and the concept of Texit, advocating for Texas' independence and self-governance. We discuss the potential economic benefits of an independent Texas, emphasizing the state's robust economy and the promise of increased prosperity for its citizens.
Join me as we navigate these topics and more, offering a candid perspective on the issues that matter. Don't forget to visit our website, www.joerussiello.com, for more information and to support the show.

Hey, folks. This is Joe Rusciello, and we are live tonight at the Asylum Studios, bringing you the best quality talk radio we could muster without all the bluster. Welcome to the podcast. Hey, folks. It is absolutely great to be with you, another another night. We originally, planned on doing the show just once a week, a recorded show, but, so much going on in the world today, so much going on in the news that found it a little bit difficult to, not jump in here and, try to bring some, information to you guys. Now I'm gonna be very honest with you. I am absolutely exhausted.
Like, I am dead tired, man. I I don't I honestly, I don't know how president Trump does it. The the all of the activity this man is is involved with, and he he gets maybe four hours of sleep a night. I got two and a half hours last night, worked all day today, got home somewhere around, I don't know, six something. And then, you know, I sat down to have dinner and, ended up getting called into work, so I had to go to work. I was there until, just about an hour and a half ago. So I wasn't really able to get a lot of show prep done, prior to that. And and I was planning on doing the show, like, around 08:00, but here it is just a little bit before 10:30, and, we're we're giving this a shot here tonight. So, I don't know how how much we're gonna get through tonight. I I do have several several clips that I I wanted to get to, this evening, but I don't think we're gonna get to too many of them, because like I said, I am absolutely exhausted.
We did the show last night with, with, Ashley Colwell, who is a relationship expert. And, unfortunately, just as we were coming to, really her segment, to to get into her area of expertise, we lost our connection with Ashley. So, we'll be getting her back on, sometime next week. And, so she'll be able to talk to you guys about her experiences in, in in dating after 40. So that should be should be very interesting. And, then there's the following week, we'll be interviewing, a man by the name of Jack Kammer, who's a, a social worker who's involved in in men's mental health issues.
And, we're gonna be talking about a very similar subject, in relation, to dating after 40. And, and not just that, but, just the expectations. Interesting an interesting conversation. Let me try to get that out again. One of these days, I will master the English language. So, just, you know, just gonna throw that out there. But, but it is a beautiful Thursday night here in Eagle Pass, Texas. It is, it is, February, and believe it or not, it is 82 degrees outside right now. And, that's crazy. Now I'm a New York guy. So, you know, this time of year, you're wearing sweaters and jackets and, you know, you're still seeing your breath outside. And out here, you know, we're having cookouts and running around in shorts and t shirts and and and all that great stuff. So, it's a big difference. Very, very big difference. So, just trying to get used to all this stuff. I man, I'm sorry. I'm rambling. I'm just I'm exhausted.
I I truly, truly am exhausted. But, let's see. But, again, it is a Thursday night, and we are, gonna go through some of these articles here in just a minute. So have you been following? I know we talked about it yesterday and a little bit the day before, about this USAID, thing going on. This and this this is huge, folks. This is absolutely huge.
Every day, every single day, it just seems to get worse and worse and worse. And, I was looking through some of the articles today. I get all these, these newsletters and emails and and such, and, I just I there was so many options, so many directions I could've gone with this thing. But, you know, I I I was looking for something that's not gonna be repetitive to what we did yesterday, or the day before that. But, just just some of these some of these stories that that are coming out right now are just insane.
Absolutely insane. The the information that's coming out to us is is coming out so fast. And it is so easy to fall behind. But, but the reality of it is is that that it everything that that's coming out all basically tells the same story. The mainstream legacy media is a bought and paid for arm of the deep state. Like, did you know, for example, that $8,000,000 in your tax money, my tax money went to Politico? Did you did you know that? Our tax dollars is going to to fund Politico. There was a post up on x, by Sonny Wright, and it says here, we do indeed appear to be funneling large sums of tax money to Politico so that some bureaucrats can read left wing journalists complain about Republicans.
And they posted, some receipts, actually. Politico LLC, obligations of $622,270 outlays and so on, online, news subscriptions, and and the numbers are insane. It's it's $622,720, 4 hundred and 50 5 thousand 1 hundred and 40 dollars, 8 hundred 60 2 thousand, another 862,000. It's it's it's ridiculous. And, and then the political math page on, on x also, another another good follow, says, I don't wanna I don't want to understand what exactly I do want to understand what exactly is going on here. Are we really spending $8,000,000 a year in federal money on political subscriptions?
This seems weird, and I'm curious what the innocent explanation might be. Now, Politico's estimate Politico's financials aren't public. Alright? They're not they're not public information. But, there were estimates that were found, from, that that's, in in the in 02/2023, revenues were as high as 400 plus million and as low as, 7,000,000. But whatever the case is, the article that I'm referencing here says, whatever the case, nobody, and I mean nobody, forgets who paid it 8,000,000 in subscription fees. And then, Ian Miles Chong, reported this. He said the US government gave, the New York Times the New York Times tens of millions of dollars over the past five years despite paying relatively little money to the New York Times in the years preceding 2021.
Well, that's interesting. Don't you think? What what took place in 2021? Who came to power in 2021? In August 2024, the US government awarded $4,100,000 to the New York Times. And the bulk of those funds came from the US Department of Health and Human Services at $26,900,000 followed by the National Science Foundation at $19,100,000. You imagine that folks? $50,000,000 of your tax dollars to a newspaper that's owned by a Mexican billionaire at a time when Washington wanted to silence certain voices, conservative voices, republican voices, on the issues of health pertaining to the emergence of COVID, and the absolute ridiculous mandates that came along with it.
Masking and and, the m honor m n the mRNA, clot shot. Mike Benz, oh, on x also said, I'm just gonna keep repeating this until people understand this is not a joke, not hyperbole, and not an overstatement. When it's too dirty for the CIA, you give it to USAID. As we talked yesterday, USAID came to existence in the nineteen sixties under president Kennedy. And basically, it was it was to be used as a way to, you know, counter Soviet aid and influence, you know, around the, you know, quote unquote developing world. But, but USAID, of course, you know, grew into a 60,000,000,000 or $70,000,000,000 slush fund, basically, for, pretty much, you know, domestic causes that that that are when you look at them, are really communist in in in in their ambition in in in their ambition, in their vision, and their focus.
Just think about that. Your government using your money, pushing Soviet style propaganda on its own citizens, doing what the CIA does abroad right here at home. And then it gets even better. It gets even better. Did you know that USAID? And you notice I'm not calling it what what a lot of the liberals call it. They call it USAID because that's not what it is. USAID is the is The US agency for international development. It's not aid. It's international development. But did you know that USAID was involved in Donald Trump's impeachment? That's right.
Using your tax dollars. Now, of course, if you're a liberal, you're a Democrat, you probably don't care that they used your money to impeach Donald Trump not once, but twice. But if you are a supporter of Donald Trump, if you voted for Donald Trump, if if you you have to be incensed by this. Town hall. Matt Vesper wrote this, today, actually, today's article. USAID will effectively shut down on Friday. Most of the staff will be furloughed as it's absorbed into the state department. Under the president's direction, Elon Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency unearth a web of corruption, waste, and fraud that was that wasn't necessarily shocking, but jarring nonetheless.
Democrats are livid that this agency is being gutted, and you know what? We know why. Because they subsidized and played a significant role in the 2019 impeachment of Donald Trump. The agency appears to have been pulling the strings of the organized crime and corruption reporting project or OCCRP, which was cited multiple times by the CIA whistleblower that sparked the quid pro quo circus surrounding Trump, Ukraine, and military aid. Independent journalists Michael Shellenberger and Alex Gutentag did a deep dive into this into this, sorted, government web where the purpose of OCCRP wasn't your usual investigative journalism.
USAID seems to have had a massive sway regarding agenda, hiring practices, and mission. Let's take a listen. Hey, everybody. It's Mike Shellenberger for public. The House of Representatives
[00:25:38] Unknown:
impeached president Donald Trump in December 2019 after a White House whistleblower went public with evidence that Trump had abused his powers by withholding military aid to Ukraine in order to dig up dirt on his rival, Joe Biden. In the complaint, the whistleblower claimed to have heard from White House staff that Trump had on a phone call directed Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to work with his personal attorney at the time, Rudy Giuliani, to investigate Joe Biden and Hunter Biden. The whistleblower who triggered the impeachment was a CIA analyst who was first brought into the White House by the Obama administration. Reporting by DropSiteNews last year revealed that the CIA analyst had relied on reporting by a supposedly independent investigative news organization called the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project or the OCCRP, which appears to have effectively United States Agency for International Development, USAID, which president Trump has just shut down. The CIA whistleblower complaint cited a long report by OCCRP four times.
The OCCRP report alleged that two Soviet born Florida businessmen were key hidden actors behind a plan by Trump to investigate the Bidens. Those two businessmen connected Giuliani to two former Ukrainian prosecutors according to OCCRP. The OCCRP story was crucial to the House Democrats' impeachment claim, which is that Trump dispatched Giuliani as part of a coordinated effort to pressure a foreign country to interfere in the twenty twenty presidential election, which is why the whistleblower cited it four separate times. In a 2024 documentary that the German television broadcaster NDR made about OCCRP's dependence on the US government, a USAID official confirmed that USAID approves OCCRP's annual work plan and approves of new hires of key personnel.
NDR had initiated and carried out the investigation with a French investigative news organization called Mediapar, an Italian news group called Il Fato Cotidiano, Reporters United in Greece, and DropSite News in The United States. However, according to a media parse story published the same day as the DropSite News article, NDR censored the broadcast after US Journalist Drew Sullivan, the cofounder and head of OCCRP, placed pressure on the NDR management and made false accusations against the broadcaster's own journalists who had been involved in the project. On December 16, drop site's Ryan Grim posted a link on X to the twenty six minute long documentary.
NDR, Germany's public broadcaster, is facing a censorship scandal, he wrote, and it's defended itself by saying it never killed a news report about OCCRP and its state department funding because no report was ever produced to kill. That was absurd, wrote Grimm, and dozens, maybe hundreds of journalists knew it to be false. And now, of course, someone has leaked it. The drop site journalistic collaboration revealed that OCCRP's original funding came from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the United States State Department, and it quotes a USAID official who says Drew was just nervous about being
[00:28:55] Unknown:
linked with law enforcement. Yeah. Right? But why? Well, because sources maybe. Right? If if you're if if if people
[00:29:06] Unknown:
The, the guy that's speaking right now is Mike Henning. He's a rep he's a, an employee of the, US Agency for International Development, USAID.
[00:29:15] Unknown:
If people that are gonna give you information think, oh, you're just a an arm of, you know, you're just a cop. Right? I mean, they may maybe it's a problem. Or and and and and other governments, you know, other, you know, say you're trying to get into a country and do something and the government says, oh, you're what are you, law enforcement or not? Right? Like, there's a need that, you know, the separation, the independence is important. Cause we if you lose that you lose your Yeah. Your sense of like, you know, your, it's it's it's a value your reputation is is is incredibly important. OCCRP
[00:29:52] Unknown:
does not operate like a normal investigative journalism organization in that its goals appear to include interfering in foreign political matters, including foreign elections that are aimed at regime change. Sullivan told NDR We've probably
[00:30:07] Unknown:
been responsible for about five or six countries changing over from one government to another government, you know, because, and getting, you know, people, you know, prime ministers indicted or thrown out. As such, it appears that the CIA, USAID,
[00:30:24] Unknown:
and OCCRP were all involved in the impeachment of president Trump in ways similar to the regime change operations that all three organizations engage in abroad. The difference here is that it is highly illegal and even treasonous for CIA, USAID, and its contractors and intermediaries, often called cutouts, to interfere in US politics in this way. In response to questions that we sent to OCCRP, it threatened to file a lawsuit against us. The premise of your article is factually false and defamatory, wrote Miranda Petrucic, the editor in chief of OCCRP, in an email to us. The claim by DropSite News and Partner Media that USAID has control over editorial appointments has been disproven, she wrote, and we suggest you read our response to that.
But neither OCCRP nor anyone else has disproved DropSites' allegations, and DropSites stands by them. And the evidence does not support OCCRP's claim of journalistic independence. If you're not already a subscriber to public
[00:31:25] Unknown:
Alright. Now I know that was a long clip. Alright. It's over five minutes. But I I wanted you to hear the whole thing. Alright. This this this should infuriate you. That your government, the government that you paid for, brought about the the and it makes you wonder why. Why why why would they try to what were they covering up? Well, Ukraine, it's a slush fund. It it you know, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, you know, you you follow the money. You you have to follow the money. Ukraine is a money laundering operation for the for the United States government, and Donald Trump got too close.
He was going to at that time, in in his first term, was going to expose all of this and bring it to an end, and so they had to get rid of him. So they did everything that they could possibly do, including stealing an election. There you go. I said it. Stealing an election, the twenty twenty election, just to make sure that none of this came out, and they were not anticipating Donald Trump winning in 02/2024. And now all of this is coming out because that is exactly what Donald Trump promised, and Donald Trump has been making his promises and keeping his promises. Michael Shellenberger also went out onto, Jesse Waters on Fox. You have this new piece on Substack
[00:33:17] Unknown:
that the USAID and the CIA helped orchestrate Trump's impeachment?

Yeah. I mean, Jesse, it's a crazy story. I mean, you might forget that, you know, the House of Representatives impeached, president Trump in December of twenty nineteen. Many people may may not remember that it was a CIA analyst who's left over from the Obama White House who wrote the memo that led to the impeachment. It was all based on hearsay. The person had not actually been in the room with Trump. Nonetheless, this memo that he wrote relied heavily on a report done by an organization funded by USAID. In fact, its initial founding funding, I mean, now it's tens of millions of dollars had gone into this group called the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, a name that's not very memorable, OCCRP, but it was basically created as an extension of the state department and then of USAID.
And as you know, Jesse, this is very serious to be involved in an effort to do regime change at home as we've been discovering as the files have come out with the what Elon Musk has been doing. We know that USA USAID was really about regime change abroad. It was a kind of public facing part you know, regime change operation like CIA, but not covert, more overt. Well, now you see a similar blowback just like they did censorship abroad and brought censorship tools back home. They were doing this sort of thing abroad, creating a predicate essentially for Trump's impeachment. So I think it's, just one of many revelations that we'll see coming out in the next few weeks. USAID

was involved in regime change abroad and here at home. Very interesting. If you wanna read more about what Mike's talking about, go to his Substack after the show. Don't go right now. Go after the show. Thanks, Mike.

Now if you think that's bad, you know it gets worse. Follow the money. Feds gave millions to left wing media outlets including political and the New York Times. I know we already covered that. There's another piece that it's over the Federalist. Listen, if you don't read the Federalist, you need to. It's great, great, great work over there. Politico maneuvered to have the Hunter laptop story banned, and everyone discussed it since everyone discussing it censored, and now we find out the regime was funneling tens of millions of dollars of our money to Politico.
Federal agencies have been flooding have been funneling millions to leftist media outlets, including the Associated Press, Politico, Reuters, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CNN according to public grant disclosures.
[00:36:04] Unknown:
Our new press secretary, Carolyn Levitt, said this. So upon coming out here to the briefing room, I was, made aware of the funding from USAID to media outlets, including Politico, who I know has a seat in this room. And I can confirm that the more than 8,000,000 taxpayer dollars that have gone to essentially subsidizing subscriptions to Politico on the American taxpayers' dime will no longer be happening. The DOGE team is working on canceling those payments now. Again, this is a whole of government effort to ensure that we are going line by line when it comes to the federal government's books. And this president and his team are are making decisions across the board on, do these receipts serve the interests of the American people? Is this a good use of the American taxpayers' money? If it is not, that funding will no longer be sent abroad, and American taxpayers will see significant savings because of that effort.
[00:37:05] Unknown:
Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote on x on Wednesday that USAID had financed ultra progressive politico in Brussels and basically the entire left wing media in Hungary. I think the world owes a debt of gratitude to president at realdonaldtrump for uncovering and putting an end to this dark conspiracy. The Associated Press got, 37,500,000.0 from, the federal government over the last fifteen plus years. The AP's federal funding in 02/2008 was just above 200,000. Then 02/2014, it reached 6,400,000.0. I'm sorry. No. In 02/2020, it reached 6,400,000.0.
The AP issues a the AP issues a style book that journalists have widely adopted for standards and style, formatting and word choice, and so on. Let's see if our government spent more than 52% or 19,800,000.0 of the money it sent to the AP on the category of photo map print publication, while another 20% went towards support and professional communications. Politico got 34,300,000.0 from the federal government since 02/2015, according to spending data published by Liz Wheeler. Liz Wheeler wrote, the political scandal is worse than you think. It's not 8,000,000 that Politico it's not 8,000,000 that Politico received in USAID. It's the 34,300,000.0 that Politico has received from various swampy federal government agencies.
Politico is, without a doubt, a totally corrupt propaganda arm of the swamp. Reuters got 10,600,000.0. The New York Times got 2,700,000. The Washington Post got 1,700,000. CNN, got 220,000. And all they did was manipulate public opinion. You had the Russia hoax. You had all the hit pieces, Trump and the Russians. In in fact, all six outlets that have taken federal funding, the AP, Politico, Reuters, New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, all amplified that whole story. All pushed it and published it, pushed it and published it. Trump and the Russians. Trump and the Russians. Russia, Russia, Russia. And, of course, you yeah. You know, you remember that the the dossier, the the Christopher Steele dossier, the British spy was all fabricated.
And it turned out that Hillary Clinton's twenty sixteen campaign financed it. They paid for it. But still still those same outlets went out and pushed that whole narrative. Reuters repeated that that, that that ridiculous anonymous source that that says that, that that said that, Donald Trump smeared US fallen soldiers by calling them suckers and losers. The the New York Times amplified quotes taken out of context such as when when Trump referred to, do you remember very fine people on both sides of the Charlottesville, protests?
But they left out the the most important part of it, and that was where he said, I'm not talking about the neo Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally. All to fit a narrative.
[00:40:42] Unknown:
Here's Donald Trump. And you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group Excuse me. Excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of to them a very, very important statue and then renaming of a park from Robert E Lee to another name. And you had people, and I'm not talking about the neo Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo Nazis and white nationalists.
Okay?
[00:41:21] Unknown:
It's a whole quote. The whole quote right there. But, of course, you know, they left that whole part out. In a and right right before, the twenty twenty election, CNN dismissed, the New York Post story, talking about the Hunter Biden laptop. And, the and Politico buried the story and, and and and designated that story as disinformation. But, of course, you know, as as always, it turned out to be true though. The Hunter Biden laptop was a true story. And that came out with the Twitter files. Democrats, federal officials, federal agencies worked with big tech to suppress it. And a poll a poll taken at the time said, you know, 80% of any 80% of the people that thought the story would have changed the outcome of the twenty twenty election.
And then you fast forward to July of of two thousand twenty four when when when when when when President Trump was was shot at in in in Butler, Pennsylvania. And he and do you remember that? I remember that. I remember exactly. I was sitting on my couch. I was I was watching the rally. I couldn't believe what I saw. And then he he went to the ground clutching his ear, he got back up, raised his fist, that iconic shot right there, fight, fight, fight, while blood streamed down the side of his face. What did the corporate media do? They immediately corporate media went out out of their way to dismiss the event. CNN actually claimed that Trump, that that, that Trump's rally was interrupted by the Secret Service, and then the Washington Post said that, Trump was simply taken away after loud noises were heard at the rally.
MSNBC suggested that that, that that the the rally that president Trump held in Madison Square Garden in New York was similar to a Nazi rally. Politico claimed that it features racist and vulgar remarks. The New York Times called it a carnival of grievances, misogyny, and racism. PBS, funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which gets, $535,000,000 in the 2,025 budget, compared Elon Musk's gesture to the crowd at at a post, at the inauguration rally, to to a fascist salute. Folks, this is it gets worse and worse and worse.
USAID has been unaccountable for years, decades. And it was it was run by by bureaucrats that that felt that they didn't have to answer to anybody. $20,000,000 into to for a sesame, sesame workshop with, with with the mercy course. US taxpayers funded a program that teaches Sri Lankan journalists to state pronouns avoiding, binary gendered language. Your tax dollars, folks. Your your tax my tax dollars, that's what they're sending it on. Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. I was gonna get into this story here too, but it's it's kind of a repeat of the of the other story we just with the what we just covered. So I'm just gonna kinda skip ahead of that. Plus, wow, we're already forty five minutes in. We got so much more to do. Oh my goodness.
How about this? Let's talk about, let's talk a little bit about, the sixty minutes interview with, with Kamala. Federalist says, unedited sixty minutes Kamala interview proves again the Democrat twenty twenty four campaign was a media driven psyop. Now that the full sixty minutes interview with Kamala Harris is out, it's more clear that the media were all in assisting her failed campaign. It's been three months since the election, and there are still so many unanswered questions as to what exactly happened in the very obvious partnership that took place between dying national news media and Kamala Harris campaign, but little more clarity was offered this week. But a little more clarity was offered this week when Brendan Carr, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, released the full nearly hour long interview CBS sixty minutes aired with Harris several weeks before the election. The disclosure of the raw footage came as CBS cooperated with a complaint to the FCC from the Center for American Rights, a right leaning law firm that accused the network, of news distortion.
And here's what, let me see. Let me back this up here just a second here. A highly suspect omission from the final cut was an extended portion in which Harris wasn't asked some convoluted question on geopolitical matters or macroeconomics, but on why she wants to be president. Quote, there are many reasons, but probably, first and foremost, I truly believe in the promise of America. She droned on in an alarmingly slow cadence. I do, and I love the American people. You know, we are a people who have ambition and aspirations and dreams and optimism and hope. Without even being able to see the interview of Bill Whitaker, you could you could feel his eyes mentally rolling to the back of his skull. The portion was, the portion was surely nixed for his banality, but it's fundamental but it's a fundamental question the average voter would want an answer to regardless of whether Harris was a deeply superficial, deeply boring answer. In another portion, Whitaker asks another obvious one. What was Harris's explanation for changing her position to the opposite of her previous stances on virtually every major issue?
Here's what sixty minutes included from that answer. In the last four years, I have been vice president of The United States, and I have been traveling our country, and I've been listening to folks and seeking what is possible in terms of common ground. I believe in building consensus. We are a diverse people, geographically, regionally, in terms of where we are in our backyards, in our in our backgrounds. And what the American people, do want is that we have leaders who can build consensus, where we can figure out compromise and understand it's not a bad thing as long as you don't compromise your values to find common sense solutions. And that's that has been my approach. But what sixty minutes ultimately aired was actually a spliced and diced mashup of two separate answers that Kamala offered. First, to the direct question as to why her positions have changed, and then a to a follow-up question about whether it was a matter of evolution or as your critics say, opportunism.
Then there's another piece here. Let's see if there's a clip on it. There's no clip to it at the moment, but, I shoulda got that one. Let's see. It's gonna be taxes. Kamala struggled to explain funding for $3,000,000,000,000 giveaway in an off camera CBS footage. During the interview that aired to the public, Whitaker noted how the nonpartisan committee for responsible federal budget estimated that Harris's economic plan would add 3,000,000,000,000 to the federal deficit over the next decade. And he he asked, how are you gonna pay for that? Eventually, Harris responded by suggesting that the richest among us who can afford it should pay their fair share in taxes in order to pay for her policies.
My perspective is that everybody needs to pay their fair share, she added before invoking firefighters and teachers to try to justify disproportionately stealing money from those from from people who make more. So, and then it goes on. Is that what you so the so, where we go? So how are you gonna convince a divided congress that what you say your plans are something that they should all agree to and provide the American people when they've shown no inclination to do that to this point? It's a question that Whitaker asked. And then, Harris said, quote, is that what you needed? Harris asked, seemingly referencing the over the shoulder shot. The crew member affirmed that it was before asking for thirty seconds of silent space for room time.
Cameras are off, a crew member said, following the silence and a longer version of the video. Whitaker immediately jumped in to ask Harris for an actual answer to his question. How will you? Whitaker pressed, laughing. It's gonna be taxes. It's gonna be literally the economists. I mean, they're from each the spectrum, Harris said, stumbling through her answer before Whitaker cut her off. But I hear what you're saying about the economists. This is true, but congress is not the economist. Whitaker responded before the clip ended. While Harris had previously suggested tax would be raised, her off screen answer showed her crumbling under pressure. She had no real explanation about how anything she promised would be accomplished except through taxes.
Now, you know, the the the typical thing is is they they go rushing back to, you know, the rich paying their fair share. You know, the the top 1% pay something like 40 something percent of the taxes. 40%. I forget the percentage, but the the the bottom portion of, of the population pay no taxes. I think it's, like, 40% or 45% pay no taxes at all. Alright, folks. Here, what we're gonna do is, we are going to take a minute here. We're gonna, take a quick break. When we come back from this break, we will, get into our Texas news for the day, and then we'll, also take our, our Tex It fact of the day, and then we'll wrap this whole thing up. Alright, folks. rawhide. This is Joe Rusciello. For rain and wind and weather. I can't believe I got through fifty four minutes of the show without collapsing here. I am exhausted. So I'm not really too thrilled with how the show's going tonight. Wasn't too thrilled with last night. We had audio problems. We'll get it all straightened out. We'll get it all fixed. We'll get through it all. We'll get through it together. Alright. So I didn't realize that, I queued up Rawhide, the theme from Rawhide, before we got into the whole, texted stuff.
But, hey, you know what? That's fine. Gotta have a good laugh. Right? Alright. So just a couple of quick headlines here. So, Donald Trump and Greg Abbott, executive orders on the border security illegal immigration take place. So they're gonna start really enforcing, a variety of border security executive orders. The Texas National Guard has been given, have been deputized to be able to make arrests of illegal of illegal immigrants crossing over into The United States and those that are caught here in The United States. So, that's that is great news.
I know that border crossings have dropped significantly. I read something, earlier today. It was a 26 in the last, seventeen days. Hundred and twenty six people compared or I'm sorry, in the last month, in comparison to the over 2,000 that were coming over every month. Amazing. Amazing. And they say that there was nothing they could have done to prevent it, that, you know, the border was secure and tight. Yeah. Right. Alright. Alright. Well, folks, as you know, I am a member of, organization called the Texas Nationalist Movement. I am going through the the training process for, to be the deputy county coordinator for Maverick County where where I live.
And, it's a it's a real honor to be able to do that. And, I'm, you know, I'm looking forward to, getting, the boots on the ground. Looking forward to, to to to, talking to folks about Texit. Now, what exactly is Texit? Texit, is is the term that's used to refer to Texas exiting the union and becoming an independent, self governing nation. Texas is not Texas independence. Texas is the process that leads to Texas becoming independent. Texit means that that Texans determine our our own laws, and not the 200 I'm sorry. The 2,500,000 unelected bureaucrats that are up there in Washington regulating everything that you do from how much you how much water can be in your toilet, the tent trying to to to tell you how warm or cool you can keep your house.
You name it. There is somebody watching over your shoulder. It means that we get a government that begins and ends at the borders of Texas. It means an end to that that giant sucking sound that you hear of a hundred and 3 to a hundred and $60,000,000,000 a year that get that get that get stolen from the pockets of Texans and distributed throughout the rest of the American Union. But most importantly, it means that for the first time in our lives, we get to control our own destiny. That's what Texit is. Now, one of the more popular questions that, that come up, in regards to Texas, Texit and Texas independence, is about the economy.
Alright? Now some of the questions are like, you know, how will the how will the economy and independent Texas be better? Well, on average, Texas ranks eighth in the world in the economy. Texas is the eighth largest economy in the world. Think about that. But just think about that. The eighth largest economy in the entire world. We're not talking about just the American Union. We're talking about the world. Eighth. So there's absolutely no doubt whatsoever that an independent Texas will do a lot better. And I think we mentioned this a a couple of days ago, but, to quote a conservative firebrand and Texas advocate, Claver Kamo Amani, After Texas, we're gonna be rich. And and folks, he's not exaggerating that. Texas already collectively possesses a fair amount of wealth as one of the largest economies in the world.
But Texas promises to bring that wealth to every citizen in Texas. In exploring the negative effect of excessive federal regulations on Texans, a study of the, the Mercatus Center showed how it has shrunk the paychecks of Texans by 75%. Flip the script and look at it from the standpoint of a Texas no longer subjected to those federal regulations, those excessive, burdensome federal regulations. Over a period of time, the average Texan would would see about a 400% increase in take home pay. You know, the the the retention of of this type of wealth by Texans translates into what, an explosion of new business startups, corporate expansions, reducing unemployment to nearly zero. Texas could literally experience double digit economic growth as as as the lack of an income tax, turns Texas into an international haven for for for wealth and foreign investment. Think about that. You know, Texas doesn't have a state income tax. The only the only income tax that's that's imposed on the individual Texan is federal income tax.
You eliminate that. You you watch how the how the economy expands. You watch how the economy explodes. Not even expand, just explodes. And all of that economic activity results in an increase in government revenue, which which does what? It leads to better schools, improved infrastructure, and even more tax breaks. You know? And and the best data that's available shows a correlation between increased consumer spending and an increase in household income at a near one to one ratio. Folks, with these kind of numbers, taxes could eliminate the property tax, leave the sales tax rate untouched, and still produce an increase in government revenue over and above what Texans currently pay to both the state and the federal government.
