In this episode of The Joe Rooz Show, the episode marks a return to the show's roots with no guest appearances, allowing Joe to explore current events freely. He discusses President Trump's invocation of Section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act, which has stirred controversy by placing the DC Metropolitan Police under federal control to address rising crime rates. Joe critiques the reactions from liberal commentators and highlights the hypocrisy he perceives in their responses, drawing parallels to past political events like January 6.
The episode also covers the political turmoil in Texas, where 50 state Democrats have fled to block a Republican redistricting bill. Joe explains the implications of this move for both Texas and national politics, emphasizing the high stakes involved in the redistricting battle. He critiques the Democrats' actions as cowardly and discusses Governor Abbott's response, including potential legal repercussions for the fleeing lawmakers. Throughout the episode, Joe maintains a critical stance on liberal policies and offers his insights on the broader political landscape, encouraging listener engagement and feedback.

broadcasting to you live from start of another week. It's exciting, isn't it? Who knows what the week has, in store for us? Well, hope you guys had a good weekend at least. I sure did. I had a grand weekend and I say that with a lot of sarcasm. So, we if you tuned in yesterday onto the Bible study show, I'll let you guys know that, I had a little accident here at the house. Washing dishes right before the show started, and somehow, someway, I sliced my thumb on a, a piece of sharp broken coffee mug, which breaking the coffee mug broke my heart. It was one of my favorite ones. And, can't really get it anywhere anymore unless you wanna pay some kind of ridiculous price for it.
I love it, but I don't love it that much. You know? But, but yeah. So got the boo boo thumb here, but finally got the bleeding to start somewhere stop somewhere around midnight last night. So, not too bad overall. Hey, zombies over here in the chat. Thank you for joining us tonight, zombie. Appreciate you being here. So we got a lot of things that we're gonna talk about here tonight, and, this is actually the first show that we have since, I wanna say June. Not counting, you know, the the Bible study show, but I'm saying like a weeknight show, where we don't have a guest lined up.
That kinda tripped me out over the weekend when I when I realized that, and I I messaged anonymous Angela, and let I ask her about it. So am I reading that right? We don't have any guests for Monday night? That's crazy. But, we do have a packed week for the rest of the week. So, we'll, we'll be busy with all of that as the time comes. But, but we do have a show for you tonight though. We've got a lot of things that we wanna talk about. Some very interesting things took place earlier today down there in the in Washington DC, in the capital region over there. We had the president, bringing up or invoking, section, seven forty of the, the Home Rule Act, and, we're gonna talk about that a little bit. And then we got this circus going on down here in Austin, with the, with with the Democrats just, you know, abandoning their post and and running and fleeing out to, other liberal cities like New York and, Chicago and, and California, I think, they went to as well. But, you know, it's trying to avoid a vote on a very important piece of, legislation working its way through the Austin House. So very, very interesting things that have taken place over the last few days. Now, before, as usual, you know, we get into the rest of the show, we do have a few things that we need to clear up. We have some housekeeping that we need to do.

One of our listeners actually made a recommendation or a or a a request actually for a particular topic to be discussed on Tuesday's show, when we're gonna be talking with, with, Svetlana Ryokov from Ezra Healing, our sponsor. And, so we're gonna be covering that particular subject for, for that listener, and we're excited to do that. So we're ready to go for it. As long as, you are returning some value to us for the value that you're receiving for it, we'd appreciate that. And, of course, we'll get into more of that at the end of the show when we go through our, shout outs to our our producing team. And, and and so we'll we'll be covering all that at that point. Also, folks, I need to talk to you since I mentioned Ezra Healing, wanna tell you a little bit about them. Alrighty. Now, so with all of that out of the way, it's been so long since we've done a show like this where I haven't had a guest waiting in the wings. It's like, I don't I it's like it's it's I struggled with it today to try to put a show together. But, you know, the beautiful thing about doing a commentary type show is the fact that, you know, pretty much puts itself together, pretty much writes itself. And, you know, we're gonna talk about a few things here in a second, so I hope you can stick with us as we go through it. Alright. Let's see. Where should we start? That is the question. So have you seen this by the way? I thought this was great. And I needed to you know this whole thing I know this is in part of the subject that I said we were gonna talk about, but, you know, this whole thing with the Sydney Sweeney, commercial, you know, I think it's great. I I don't understand where people get, you know, these, but then again, we're talking about liberals. So they they fabricate racism into everything.
But I don't understand where you get that from. It's a jeans commercial, and it's a and it was and and the the undertone of it was the jeans, the pants that Sydney Sweeney was wearing Had nothing to do with her skin color. My god. Liberals are insane. It's like it's like I always said, you know, liberalism is a mental disorder. It it it really and truly is. But I came across this on on TikTok, and I thought it was hysterical. So I wanted to I wanted to show it to you guys. So let let me just pull this up here really quick. Yeah. You're gonna love this.
I think that's great. No? That's hysterical. But, oh, man. The good stuff. The fun we have. You see that the other thing too with liberals too. They they they tend to freak out. They try to do things to try to piss us off. Like this whole thing with South Park, I don't know if you heard about that as well. But they were poking fun at, at JD Vance and a and a whole bunch of folks from the administration. And you know what? Every single one of them all reacted pretty much the same way that, hey, that's great. It's funny. Most liberals do not have a sense of humor, and if they do have a sense of humor, it's just it's it's only funny in their minds.
But, it was really good. It was funny stuff. So check out South Park if you haven't checked it out, lately. I I I don't really watch it anymore. I haven't watched it in a very, very long time. But, I did see the clips of this, and I thought it was it was truly, truly funny. Alright. Well, tonight, we're gonna be diving into, this whole thing with, the president invoking section seven forty, the DC Home Rule Act. And, basically, with that with what he did is it it's it's he seized control of, DC's Metropolitan Police Force, and deployed the National Guard, to take care of a crime wave that's basically turned the capital into a war zone. And why is that? Well, mostly because DC's leadership, including, a former police commander, caught fudging crime stats.
And they've been hiding the truth about violent crime, just like other blue cities and other blue states. And, you know, and that all ties together, you know, with, with bad leadership, and also, you know, it it it also to me anyway, the first thing I thought about was the the hip the the hypocrisy or the hypocrisy, depending on how you wanna say it. The hypocrisy of the Democrats, particularly folks like Nancy Pelosi and Muriel Brauser, who, remember back in January 6 at this insurrection that took place. And I say that sarcastically with the quoted fingers for those of you listening on the audio stream, you need to be watching. So, so flies in the face of their claim of this is when the president offered National Guard troops and they rejected it on January 6.
And now, they turn around and they're trying to say that, it's it's highly irregular. It's inappropriate there, you know, to have the, to have the National Guard deployed and and a federal takeover of of the, local police. But, before we get into all that mess, how about how about we do this first? What is section seven forty? Alright. That's, that's a good question. It's a very good question. Section 40 of the DC Home Rule Act was passed in 1973, which gives the president the authority to take emergency control of the DC Metropolitan Police, when public safety is at stake.
It's, it's really a very unique power because DC really isn't a state. It's a federal district, and and Congress can override, local governance in a crisis. Alright? Remember that. DC is not a state. They would like to make it a state, but they're not. Alright? It's a federal district. And because it's a federal district, as we said, the the, congress can override local governance. So basically, the law says that the president can step in if there's a state of emergency threatening the capital stability, and that's exactly what the administration is doing, and he's not holding back.
Alright. So maybe now you're asking, well, why now? Why is this taking place now? Well, because DC is a mess. It is an absolute mess. Homicides topped 400 in 02/2024. Carjackings are up a 100% since 02/2019, and violent crime is spiraling. And, Trump said basically that, you know, enough is enough.
[00:17:45] Unknown:
And worse, this is Liberation Day in DC, and we're gonna take our capital back. We're taking it back under the authorities vested in me as the president of The United States. I'm officially invoking section seven forty of the District Of Columbia Home Rule Act. You know what that is? And placing the DC Metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control, and you'll be meeting the people that will be directly involved with that. Very good people, but they're tough, and, they know what's happening. They've done it before.
[00:18:24] Unknown:
So, basically,
[00:18:26] Unknown:
the president said enough's enough. We're taking over. We're we're gonna we're gonna start running the show here. Now today, he said also, you know, crime is out of control. The radical left's soft on crime policies have failed, and I'm invoking I'm invoking section seven forty to restore law and order and make our capital safe again. So what he's doing, he's pointing to a broken system under mayor Muriel Brauser, where, you know, local leadership just let crime totally fester. And then here was something very interesting that I came across too when I was, going through this. And I remember reading about this, some time ago, but and and turns out, you know, this was back in May 2025.
A former DC police commander named Michael Pulliam was suspended. Alright. Now listen to this. He was suspended for allegedly altering crime stats to make violent crime look lower than it was. Alright. So he was caught adjusting crime stats or altering crime stats to make violent crime look lower. He was caught downgrading shootings, and, and stabbings, to to felony assaults. Alright. So do you know what happens with those? Well, they don't show up in the FBI's major crime reports. Do you remember that? I remember that clearly. Now to be honest with you, and to be fair, this isn't just a DC problem.
You know, blue states, blue cities, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, you name it. They pull the same bullshit. They pull the same tricks. They're cooking the books to hide the skyrocketing crime. You know, in Nassau County, a police commander was demoted back in 2012 for fudging stats, and And what he was doing is he was turning burglaries into criminal mischief to make precincts look safer. That's insane. That's insane, but that's what your liberal policies do. Trump called this out before, saying in 2024 speech that, quote, the Democrats' crime stats are fake. They leave out 30% of the worst cities to make Biden look good.
Alright. Now to be fair, PolitiFact debunked the exact percentage, but the point is cities like LA and New York skipped FBI reporting in 02/2021, and their data has been shaky ever since. So basically what it is, it's a cover up. It's a cover up to protect failed policies, and you know, the American people aren't buying anymore, and this administration is not buying into it anymore. Now, someone that I watch, quite regularly, Steve Bannon. He's been on this on on his show War Room. He said, quote, Trump Trump's using section seven forty to cut through the DC Swamp's lies about crime. They've been fudging numbers to hide their failures, and he's calling their bluff. And you know what? He's right. He's absolutely right.
This is about exposing a system that's been gaming the stats to dodge accountability. That's exactly what it is. And then you have Alex Jones, who I watch all the time as you know, and he's right too on this. He's, you know, it's the globalist wants the globalist want DC to stay to stay a crime ridden mess, to push their chaos agenda. And basically, what Trump is doing with the sep with section seven forty is is, is basically a middle finger move. That's basically what it is. And he's right, someone needs to take charge. Owen Shroyer also, on his show, he said, quote, DC's crime stats are a joke. They downgrade carjackings to thefts, shootings to assaults, and then claim crime is down 28.
Section seven forty invocations is about a real is about real leadership cleaning up the streets and the lies. And, of course, when you have other, you know, conservative commentators out there talking about, you know, DC being a national embarrassment and and praising the president for for for doing what, Bowser won't. You know, people are starting to see through the smoke and mirrors. Even the Fraternal Order of Police backed this up. Their chairman, Greg Pemberton, said commanders were ordered to reclassify violent crimes as lesser offenses to keep the stats low.
So the president's response, it it well, the at least the well, the president's move is a direct response to the fraud. And of course, you know, you have the usual response from the left. Here's, here's about a minute and a half clip of, on CNN. I think it was CNN, where Eddie Glaude, I think his name is, just absolutely had a meltdown.
[00:24:01] Unknown:
Want?
[00:24:02] Unknown:
It was MSNBC. I'm sorry. Chris, to be honest with you, I'm trying to hold my temper. I think there's an ongoing argument that he's having in his head with Black Lives Matter. There's an ongoing argument that he's having with the questions around criminal justice reform and police reform. It's interesting that he really doesn't really care about what's actually happening in DC in a certain on a certain level because he's not trying to get at the underlying root causes. He's not looking at examples that of of how to address, horizon crime rates, that doesn't require a form of policing that leads to increase in carcerality and the like. Let's look at what's going on in Baltimore. Let's look at what's happening actually in places like Baltimore and Chicago.
Right? So part of what we have to do is to understand and Oakland, we have to understand this, Chris, within the context of Donald Trump's racial politics and within the context of his effort to get Epstein off the front pages. I understand David's point. But when we try to treat this as a rational response, then we lose sight of the actual politics that's that's that's being played here. And he's he's actually trying to give his base red meat to get them off of the Epstein story, and it's on the backs of citizens in Washington, DC. He's gonna undermine the democratic process in the district. And so I I understand what David is trying to say, but we need to be clear about what Donald Trump is doing.
[00:25:29] Unknown:
Monica Elba, Ken Delaney, and Eddie Glaude, thank you so much. David Drucker, you're going to stay with me. In ninety seconds, new developments today in the Epstein.
[00:25:39] Unknown:
Now, of course, they're gonna do everything they can to deflect, and that's exactly what he was doing there. Just trying to deflect. Now, the thing is is that the president is not outside of his jurisdiction to do this. This is nothing that that he can't do. This is not a constitutional crisis. This is nothing of the sort. And this is not this is not trying to deflect from, from the Epstein files. Because I'll be honest with you, and and I'm not the only one who says this. I'm sure other pea I'm sure you've heard other people say this, other commentators say this stuff. But, you know, the truth of the matter is, if Donald Trump was actually involved in anything that Jeffrey Epstein was doing, the Democrats would have gone out of their way.
They would have jumped through every hurdle. They would have jumped through every hoop to get those files released before he became the president. I mean, just So the argument that he's doing this to deflect from the Epstein stuff, that's just That's nonsense. Absolute nonsense. But I digress. So it's not just blue cities. It's not just DC, you know, like blue cities, like Chicago, San Francisco, heard them mention in the clip. You know? They've also been caught under reporting violent crime stats to the FBI. They either didn't submit data or they reclassified felonies.
Democrat run cities are hiding the truth about crime to protect their failed policies. And what the president is doing right now is he's shining light on that, and he's trying to fix it. And he's using section seven forty as a to set a precedent. Now he's gonna start here in DC, and then he's gonna take it nationwide. So this is like, I guess Well let me not say it because then somebody's gonna clip it and say that I'm calling for violence. I'm not. But he is putting blue cities on notice that if you're not gonna clean up the city, then I'm gonna have to do that for you. Now, again, now I'm not a 100% clear on the the legality of that. I don't know if he can do that outside of DC again, because DC is a federal district, and and the Congress has authority to override the government of of Washington DC.
I don't know about the other states. So I'm not gonna, you know, say anything about that. But, that seems to be the message though that he's sending. And of course, the left is freaking out now because they understand that their game's up. That they know that this is it. This is the end game here. Alright. Now, I wanna I wanna take this back to to, as I as I said earlier, to, like January 6. Alright? Because there's a lot of hypocrisy here. Hypocrisy. And it's absolutely next level. 01/06/2021, Trump offered 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the capital before the protests.
Alright? Which was a fact that that's been confirmed by by, by Chris Miller. He was the acting defense secretary at the time, and he said that that that the president told him to do whatever it takes to keep DC safe. But you see, here's the problem. Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the house at the time, and Muriel Bowser or Bowser. I'm sorry. DC's mayor said no. Bowser actually wrote a letter on 01/05/2021 saying that MPD had it covered, the Metropolitan Police Department had it covered, and it's not requesting personnel, or other federal law enforcement personnel.
Big mistake. Big mistake. When the capital got stormed, Pelosi and Bowser flipped the script, blaming Trump for not having enough security. I mean, folks, come on. Even Pelosi, I I couldn't find the clip to to show it to you to remind you of it, but even Nancy Pelosi was was was was was seen on a a video. I think that her daughter actually filmed it in in the car taking responsibility for what happened on January 6. And it wasn't an insurrection, But that's what they called it, and that's what they cried about. They rejected his offer, cried insurrection, and they did all of that to push the impeachment circus.
Because remember he hadn't been impeached the second time yet. They did it after. Pelosi and Bowser refused the National Guard and then blamed president Trump for it and blamed him for their failure in leadership. It's a ridiculous and disgusting double standard. January 6 was a setup, and Pelosi and Bowser wanted chaos to weaponize that against president Trump. Because there's no there's no other reason for them to turn down 10,000 troops, but they did. And then what did they do? They played the victim. But then again, what happened after that? Pelosi pushed for basically a fortress around the capital. Do you remember that?
National guard, razor wire, the works, everything. You had an empty plaza for the inauguration of the auto pen. I I mean, the former vice president, Joe Biden. And you didn't hear Muriel Bowser complaining. She was cool with that. But when president Trump offered it proactively, they said no. Why is that? Well, I'm glad you asked. I'll let you down a little secret. This is exclusive. I'm breaking this here, right here on this show. I know the reason why. It was because it didn't fit their narrative. They wanted a crisis, and they wanted to pin it on him.
And now they're upset, and they're angry, they're mad that he's using section seven forty to fix the mess that they created. It is the same democratic playbook over and over and over again. Dodge responsibility, blame Trump, and hide the truth. Now look, here's the deal. Here's the deal. Trump's invocation of section seven forty is about taking back a capital that's drowning in crime and lies. DC's former police commissioner or commander got caught faking crime stats just like blue cities and blue states do across the country. New York, Chicago, LA, all hiding the truth to protect their woke policies.
President Trump is calling it out. He's saying, I am bringing law and order back to DC, and no one's gonna stop me.
[00:34:10] Unknown:
Escherless bail. Watch what we do with that. Today, we're formally declaring a public safety emergency. This is an emergency. This is a tragic emergency, and it's embarrassing for me to be up here. You know, I'm gonna see Putin. I'm going to Russia on Friday. I don't like being up here talking about how unsafe and how dirty and disgusting this once beautiful capital was with graffiti all over the walls. It's another part of it, by the way. Because we're talking about safety, but we're also talking about beautification. We're the most beautiful, potentially, capital in the world. We always had. But people come from Iowa. They come from Indiana. They come, and then they get mugged.
Not gonna happen. Keep coming because within by the time you get your trip set, it's gonna be safe again, and it's gonna be clean very quickly. We're gonna replace the medians that are falling down all over the roads. We're gonna replace the potholes. We're gonna put a nice new coat of asphalt over the top. No. We don't have to rip the road out and spend, seven years building a new road because they cut everything. They because some designers said, well, we need a quarter of an inch more turn.
[00:35:22] Unknown:
You gotta love him. He's he's just blunt and honest. So folks remember, it's it's they're not mad really about Section 740. What they're mad about is losing control. That's all to this is that's all this is all about, is they're mad about losing control. Now I want you I wanna hear your comments on this one. So if you would, just, you can you can find me on x at joe roos. You could drop a comment down below. Let me know what you think. I wanna I wanna know your thoughts on this whole thing. Is is Trump's move a win for law enforcement, law and order, or the Democrats right to cry foul about this? And what about the crime stat cover ups in January 6? Let me know what you think about those things.
Alright? And, folks, I just want you to remember that this is a live show, Wednesday, weeknights 7PM central times, Saturdays at 3PM central time, and Sundays at 6PM central time. Alrighty, and folks we are back. First segment out of the way. Big difference not having guests, right? It's kind of weird, not used to it. I got spoiled, I guess. I know folks, but welcome back to the Joe Russo. My name is Joe Russo. So don't forget to drop a comment down below, let me know what you think. About section seven forty. As usual, the stellar quality right here. But that's alright. We're gonna try something here really quick. See how that works. And that hopefully would be a little bit better. But, but, yeah, we are back.
Sorry. I had a cough. Just came right up on me. Hope I got it off in time. Hope you guys didn't hear that. But, but yeah. So section seven forty, that's gonna be an interesting development as the days go by. So let's gonna keep an eye on that thing. And let me know what you think. Again, drop a comment down below. Let me know how we're doing. Also, I'd like to hear from you guys. Different not having guests. You know? It really is. Alright. Well, how about we take a look at this circus that's taking place, down here in Texas, in Austin, right now.
50 house Democrats. 50 house Democrats, and I and, I'm talking state Democrats. 50 house Democrats have fled the state like a bunch of cowards, basically, to block a Republican redistrict redistricting bill that could potentially lock in five more GOP seats in the congress. So what they're doing, they're with by by by by running away, they're denying the Texas House a quorum, which basically stalls legislation, stalls a legislator, legislature, and, governor Abbott's fighting back with threats of arrests, fines, and even expulsion. We've been down this road before with the Democrats with this. I think it's I think we're past the time of of the threats of arrest, and fines, and expulsions. I think it's time to actually do that.
So, basically, what this is, this is a a a a political cage match that is, that has huge stakes for Texas. And not only Texas, but the nation itself, the country itself. Alright. Now if you don't know what redistrict redistricting is, if you're not somebody who's really interested in politics as much as other people are. But redistricting is basically when a state redraws their congressional and legislative district lines. And that's done typically every ten years or so. And it's ten years after the census. And that's done to account for population shifts, in in in the region.
Now, in Texas, the state legislature, which is controlled by Republicans, gets to draw the map. Alright? And and when I say that it's controlled by Republicans, I'm talking about you're talking about rhinos. Alright? Another story I think, maybe for another day. Another no guest day. We could talk about how the speaker of the house Burrows is just a a a pet for the Democrats. He should just switch parties by now, but another story another time. But, but but basically, again, the the state house here in Texas is controlled by Republicans, and, and because of that, they get to redraw the maps. So, so right now what they're doing is they're pushing house bill number four, which is a a it's a mid decade redistricting plan backed by President Trump, and it could add five GOP friendly states to Texas's 38 congressional districts.
That's big. That's big when especially when you considered states like, California, New York that have, overwhelming overwhelming, democratically controlled districts. Now Republicans here in Texas hold 25 of those 38 seats. Alright? This could push them to 30, which basically shores up the raise the razor thin, two nineteen to two twelve US House majority, for the twenty twenty six midterms. Remember, the twenty twenty six midterms are extremely important. Extremely important because the balance here is so narrow. The gap is so narrow. You again, 02/19 Republican, two twelve Democrat.
It's a toss-up. The US House is a toss-up, and and I and I promise you this. If the Democrats somehow steal this election, the midterms, like we're all expecting them to at least attempt, The potential of having a democratically controlled House of Representatives, or House of Representing, as Jasmine Crockett would probably say. The potential of that, it could be catastrophic, because it will stall everything that this administration is trying to do. It's already moving at a snail's pace on a lot of things because of rhinos and and and and opposition within the party itself.
But a democratically controlled house would bring investigations after investigations, wasting taxpayer money on nonsense, bullshit investigations. And of course, you're talking about impeachments. Alright? The Democrats have not shied away from that. They've made it abundantly clear that that is their goal. You had another Texas lunatic leftist, Al Green, already filed, I don't know, three, articles of impeachment against the president already, and the the administration is not even eight months old. So that's what you can expect should the Democrats regain control of the house. So that's part of the reason why this is so controversial.
Alright? It's because it's all about power. Republicans argue that this map basically fixes unconstitutional racial gerrymanders in four Democrat held districts that have been flagged by the DOJ and reflects Texas' conservative shift. Trump won 56% of the vote here in 02/2024. That's huge. That's huge. But you see, Democrats, of course, are, as usual, screaming bloody murder, calling it racist gerrymandering that dilutes or dilutes black and Latino voting power by carving up urban strongholds like Austin, Dallas, and reworking, the Rio Grande Valley districts.
Alright. So I don't live far from the Rio Grande Valley, And I know that this area, in this particular district, voted, heavily for Trump in the last round. So, you know, but this what the Democrats are are freaking out about. There is a there's a market shift taking place, but what they don't see is that it's because of their policies, Their failed policies. Their woke policies. You know, for the most part, the people here, where I live, is, particularly, they're they're conservative people. They they tend to vote Democrat, but they are conservative people. They are people with strong family values and family ties.
They don't buy into all of this woke garbage that the Democrats have been pushing, and the Democrats have shifted so far left that it's leaving people with traditional values behind. State representative James Tallarico said this, on x. He posted this on x. He said, let's let's because this is cheating, plain and simple, let's be real. Both sides gerrymander. Very true. Alright? I disagree with him that this is cheating. Alright? I disagree with that completely, but he's absolutely right that both sides gerrymander when they get the chance. Democrats do it in California, they did it in New York, but this is what he says, Texas bold Texas's move is a bold play and the Dems are terrified about losing ground.
Absolutely right. Both sides do this. Both sides have done, the the the mid decade gerrymander. Redistricting, I should say. Alright. But you see, the thing is here with Texas, the stakes go beyond Texas. The importance of it goes beyond Texas. If Republicans can lock in five more seats, they could secure a house majority through 02/1926, making it tougher for Democrats to take control. But you see, the the the other side of the story here is that the blue states are threatening to fight back, which could turn this into a basically a national redistricting war. It it really is when you think about it, it really is a high stakes game, and and Texas is on the battlefield.
And again, you know, I I hate to I hate to to kinda slide off into into Tex it on this, because it's really not the subject of the day. But you see, if Texas was a free and independent state, state by meaning country, we wouldn't have to deal with this mess. If Texas were to take place, we wouldn't be involved in any of this. There would be no reason for us to be involved in any of this. We could just simply step back, mind our own business, and watch the rest of the country tear itself apart. The rest of this American union. But unfortunately, we're still part of this union, and and, and we have to deal with this. Now, here's the latest though.
On 08/03/2025, over 50 Texas House Democrats hopped planes to Illinois, New York, Massachusetts to break the House quorum, the Texas State House quorum. A 100 a 100 100 of 150 members needed to vote. Alright? So, of course, these Democrats, they ran and they holed up with Democratic governors like JB Pritzker, Kathy Hochul up in New York, trying to stall house bill number four until the special session ends in August 19. Alright? And this isn't the first time they've done this. Like I said before, they fled in 02/2003. They did it again in 2021 to block redistricting and voting bills, but but but those passed anyway.
And the state here is not hamstrung by this as much as you might think, because the governor has the authority to call this special session every thirty days, for thirty days. So at at the at the end of this, if they don't come back and fulfill their duties as duly erect elected representatives of their districts as they are now, the governor can simply call another special session at the end of the thirty days, which he has indicated that he would do if they don't if they do not return to Texas to take care of business. So what the Democrats are doing is they're trying to buy they're trying to run out the clock. Also, I found it very interesting too that that dollar store Obama showed up here about a week before the Democrats walked out, and I'm wondering just how much involvement he had in that. And if you don't know who dollar store Obama is, I'm talking about Hakeem Jeffries, the House minority leader.
But they're trying to they're they're betting that they can run out the clock. And since the governor can call another merge another special session, it's it's just desperation. That's really all it is. Now, governor Abbott, you know, good or bad, I I particularly like governor Abbott. I think he's doing a fine job, and I I I think he's he's done a lot for Texas. I don't agree with him on everything, and you shouldn't agree with your your elected representatives on everything. But be that as it may, he's not messing around with this. You know, he threatened to expel Democrats from office citing a two a 2021 AG opinion that, quorum breakers could forfeit their seats.
He's also pushing for civil arrest warrants and $500 a day fines, which could hit $8,000 per law per per lawmaker by the session's end. He also went on to on to x, and he posted, you know, Texas Democrats are derelict in their duties. They're betraying the people of Texas, and we'll hold them accountable. Well, I love that. I love to hear that, but I would like to see that. Here's, here's governor Abbott, on, I think it's Fox.
[00:56:16] Unknown:
So first, this this could literally last years because, in Texas, I'm authorized to call a special session every thirty days. It lasts thirty days. And as soon as this one is over, I'm gonna call another one, then another one, then another one, then another one. If if they show back up in the state of Texas, they will be arrested and taken to the capital. If they want to evade that arrest, they're gonna have to stay outside of the state of Texas for literally years. Alright? And they might as well just start voting in California or voting in Illinois, wherever they may be. And that will aid, the and support the lawsuit that I filed in the Texas Supreme Court saying that these lawmakers have abandoned their seat, because we are incapable of conducting business for the people of Texas because they have fled. This is the most untexan thing we've ever seen. In in Texas, from the time of the Alamo until today, Texas stand and fight. What what these cowards did, they didn't stand and fight. They fled and went to leftist blue states that may be more aligned with their personal philosophy that is not welcome in the state of Texas.
[00:57:18] Unknown:
Now I'm sorry about the audio there. I was kinda low. I was very surprised at that. But, he's even floating bribery charges. Bribery charges for those that are taking donations to fund their getaway, like the $600,000 Beto O'Rourke's group raised in 2021. Now, we have a we have a great representative down here. His name is Brian Harrison. He's, from District 10. Still trying to get him on the show. We we've talked about it. We're gonna get him. We're gonna get him. But he's a rock solid conservative. Alright. And as a matter of fact, a lot of times when when I hear him speak, or I'm watching him, or I'm reading what he's posting, you know, I'm thinking this guy is definitely a texted candidate. But he's out there, and he's cheering on the redistricting bills progress. He's tweeting he tweeted out August 2, you know, House Bill four passed committee, a huge win for the grassroots, but the fight's not over.
And, and and and, he's framing it as it's correcting the Democrats overreach and aligning maps with Texas's red wave. And text and and the Texas Democrats are doing exactly what you expect them to do. They're throwing a tantrum because they can't win elections. They can't. Steve Bannon said, Trump and Abbott are fighting for the will of the people. And, you know, another another good show that I watch is is Crowder's show, Ladder with Crowder. And he's been all over this too. He's he he he posted on x, recently. He said, you know, Dembs fleeing in Chicago was peak cowardice. They're running from from from fair maps because Texas is done with their garbage.
Other conservative voices, like Charlie Kirk, he said Texas dams are holding flood relief hostage to protect their gerrymandered seats. Now think about that, which is absolutely shameful. Absolutely shameful, because you're talking about people that are are that have have turned petulant children. That's what they are. They're petulant children. They're not defending democracy as much as they like to say they are. They're dodging it. And Republicans see this as a weak move by a party that's lost Texas, but won't face reality. And like I said before, this isn't just a Texas fight, this this is a national showdown. That's what it's coming down to. You have, you have, you have the American Psycho guy, Patrick Bateman over there in California, Newsom, talking about how Texas is trying to rig the house with this redistricting scam, and Cal you know, California won't sit by. And and, then he started hinting at, redrawing California's maps to add Democratic seats, you know, through their, independent, commission. Well, the thing is the independent commission kinda limits his power on that.
The, the the New York governor, the mess, Kathy Hochul, She actually met with tech Texas Democrats on August 4, and she even she upped the ante saying, now mind you, this is this is this is the Democrats. See, the thing is, the Democrats can say stuff like this, and and nothing gets mentioned about it in the media, as far as stoking any kind of, hatred or any kind of, violence or anything like that. But if a if a Republican said this, it would be all over the place. We are at war over redistricting. War. That's what they're calling this. This is a war. And what she's looking to do is she's looking to amend New York's constitution to allow mid decade map changes despite New York's anti gerrymandering laws, which are pretty pretty extensive.
Both of them face hurdles, legal challenges in New York, commission rules in California. So, I don't know. The the to me the threats are are more like noise than action. Grandstanding. What's at stake? What's at stake here? If Texas map passes, Republicans could gain five seats, and those five seats would lock in house majority through 2016. Remember, president Trump won Texas by by the biggest margin ever, And the president's right when he said that, because of that, we're entitled to those seats. That's a game changer, folks, for national politics. Giving the GOP leverage to push tax cuts, border security, energy policies.
But you know something, this stunt that they're pulling, there's a cost to this. This quorum, it doesn't only delay action on the redistricting map. This also delays flood relief for the people of Kerr County, which we talked about at the time that it happened, where a hundred and thirty six people died last month. And because the Democrats are throwing a temper tantrum, no action could be taken on those, on that bill, on that flood relief. The Democrats of course, they scrape, they they they they claim that they're fighting racist maps. No, they're not.
No, they're not. They're abandoning Texans that are in need. That's what they're doing. Now if blue states like California or Illinois retaliate with their own maps, you know, the Democrats, yeah, in in theory could offset Texas' gains keeping the house a toss-up in 2026. So it's a chess game. It's a chess game. Every single move here counts. But again, I don't think I I think that, that that California, New York threatening to to do that, to do their own redistricting, I think that's more bark than bite. Because I don't think they can legally do that for 2026. I mean, New York has to go through a whole amendment process, and that could take time. That's not something that just happens overnight.
And California has to go through a through a through a third party commission to do this. So there are issues there. Again, they could try it. It may not work for 2026. It may work for later, but they could try it. So Texas Democrats running scared, fleeing to blue states to dodge a a redistricting bill that reflects Texas's Texas's conservative heart. The Democrats are betraying Texas voters, plain and simple. Representatives, like Brian Harrison and and conservatives like Bannon, they're all calling out the left's hypocrisy. Newsom, Hochul can threaten all they want, but their own rules tie their hands.
This is about power. It's all this is about. It's about power. Who controls Texas? Who controls Congress? Who shapes America's future? Someone once said, how Texas goes, so goes the country. And that's so true. That is so very, very true. Folks, I really wanna know what you think about this. So if you could drop a comment down below. Let's see if there's anything in the chat here.
