Alright, hey folks, this is Joe Rusciello and we are live tonight at the Asylum Studios doing the very best we can to bring you the best quality political talk radio we could muster without all the bluster. This is the podcast. I love it. Alright folks, Happy Monday. Got a pretty late start tonight, forty five minutes. Yeah, about forty five minutes late. What a day, man. What an absolute day. And I'm breaking my rule, actually. I I actually have a rule that if the show's gonna be any more than fifteen minutes late, I don't do it.
Because usually what happens is you're rushing to put it all together, You're rushing to get in to the studio. You're rushing to set everything up, and then everything inevitably goes wrong during the course of the show. So, and of course, the setup as well. Today was just an abominable day at the office. It was just crazy, hectic, busy, just so much stuff going on that even when I got my break, I wasn't able to sit down and go through notes and get things organized for the show. So I I try to do that on my breaks at the job this way. By the time I get back to the studio, I'm able to just load everything up, get my clips together, and and and all that nonsense, and and be ready to go by 08:00.
Well, I didn't get to do that today because today was an absolute an absolute abomination. So, I apologize for getting the late start. So because we got a late start, I'm gonna probably, try to keep it short tonight. But, I do have some updates for you from over the weekend. So, I I don't remember if I had mentioned it or not, last week or not, but I I don't remember. I have to go back and look. But so as you guys know, I have my my little Frenchies, my my little French bulldogs. I got Beanie, my little girl, and got Charlie, my little boy. And, Charlie has developed this kind of a bump on the back of his head here that that's, that's irritating him. So what he then pretends to do is he's been rubbing it.
And, when I saw it last week, it was a little itty bitty thing. It wasn't much of anything. It looked like a little scab, like like, like he cut himself or, he has allergies. So sometimes he gets these hives and he scratches them and they bleed. And, but, this, when I first saw it, it was really super small. Like I said, a little scab. The the next morning, while I was getting ready to go to work, I noticed it was about that big. Big soft mushy thing on top of his head. So I was like, alright. Well, I'm gonna have to call the vet. I'm gonna get get gonna have to get that checked out. I went to work. When I came back from work, there was blood everywhere.
Everywhere. On the floor, on the carpet, up along the sides of the of the the the sofa, and and the chairs and the walls and just everywhere, and it was all over Charlie. And apparently, what he'd been doing is he had been rubbing his head against those things because it's been bothering him so much. And, so, you know, I called the vet, made the appointment. I brought him in there on Friday, and, they they checked it out, and they they took some samples from it. And they called me today and said that, there are some, some cancer cells in the sample that they took.
So had that happened today, so that kinda set the mood for most of the day. Then I had a, had a problem in one of the other rooms here where I had to have a a contractor come in and look at it. And, when he got here, it it it was a while. And then, you know, running back to to the job, and it was just, it was just one of those days where you just it just was nonstop all day. So, so I do again apologize for, for running for running late tonight. So just a couple of quick things before we get into, the usual mess. Just wanna remind everybody that, this week, we have a very busy busy week here at the podcast. So, like, that that again, we always have a busy week. But we have a busy week here at the podcast, and, so we are we're changing our show time for Wednesday, this coming Wednesday.
So we're gonna be doing the show at 2PM central time. Alright? That's 2PM central time. And the reason why we're doing that is we'll be interviewing, Alex Sanfilippo, who is the, the cofounder of a great great service that I that I take part in, called PodMatch. You may have heard me mention it when we had, colonel Miller Mueller on the on the show on Friday, which, by the way, great show. I hope you guys caught it. If you didn't, you know, please do. We had a great time. Great conversation. A lot of fun. So, definitely need to check that out. So, so Alex Sanfilippo is the cofounder of PodMatch, that site that I used for these connections.
And, he has, agreed to come on the show and, but he could he can't do it at our usual show time at 08:00, so he's gonna come on at 02:00. I thought about recording it. I'm not gonna do that because the last time I tried to record something and run and run it and upload it and and all that, it did not work, and it gave it gave me a real hard time. So, that said, we're doing the show at 02:00. So, then we'll be doing the regular show again at 08:00. So 02:00 with Alex Sanfilippo, and then our regular show at 08:00 on Wednesday. Alright? So I hope to see you guys there on Wednesday, the ninth. Okay? Wednesday the ninth. Also, on Thursday, Thursday, we'll be sitting down with doctor Emily Trunnell, who is a part of PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and we are gonna be having a discussion on the billions of your tax dollars that go to animal testing, and, and and the horrible abuses that that these these these animals have to go through, you know, through the through the through all these tests, and all these all the testing that gets done, and you you think about what, what Fauci did with the beagles. Now, I'm sure you remember hearing about that. If not, look it up, because I really don't wanna even mention it to you. But it was it it was barbaric, it was brutal, and it was disgusting, and, should never happen to any animal, not just a dog. I'm a dog lover. So but it shouldn't happen to any dogs ever. Never, ever, ever, ever. So, we're gonna sit down with doctor Emily Trundle at 7PM.
So we'll start an hour early, so not too much of a difference, but we'll start an hour early on Thursday. And then Friday, we'll have a regular show, regular time, 8PM central time, nine PM eastern. So hope you guys can check it out. I know it's a little confusing this week. And, if you are on our email list, we'll we'll send out an email, either later today or tomorrow to, just update everybody, and and keep everybody in the loop. Alright? Like, if I knew it wouldn't take forever to do it, I would switch the mic onto the boom again because I keep on hitting this thing, and I'm getting frustrated. I don't know if you could tell. Yeah. I could tell because I see it. I feel it in my face. I just wanna because I'm stupid. Shouldn't have done this. I shouldn't have should have just left or turned it sideways or something, but then I turned it sideways and I can't reach other stuff. That's why I don't like using some that's why, you know, I need a bigger space.
I need bigger space, but I can't do that without your support, so help us out. Alright. Well, so we had a lot of things going on today, actually. But, before we get into, like, some of the wins that took place, even right before the show started, I I wanna remind you of something. You know, so tariffs. Right? We've been talking about tariffs now for a couple of weeks. Tariffs, you know, love them, hate them. I don't know. I don't I don't really care what direction you go, and it doesn't bother me. I personally agree with tariffs. I think tariffs are fine. I think tariffs are the, probably one of the best ways for for a country to, to sustain itself.
Now tariffs have been around forever. I mean, literally forever under very, very different names here or there, but definitely have been used by countries for a very, very, very long time. Now, The United States, and and I know you've heard this before a million times, you've heard me say it, you've heard other people say it. The United States has greatly been taken advantage of by tariffs. We have some of the worst poorly negotiated, trade agreements, that you can possibly imagine. And again, I am not an economist. I am not I am not a financial advisor in any way, you know, I'm just I'm just giving you my opinion.
Okay? Now, what I find very interesting is the hypocrisies that are, so out in the open these days. I'm gonna play something for you, and I I wish I I I should have done just the audio because I want I I would love for you try to guess who this person is. Alright? Because you'd probably never guess it. You probably would never guess. But I just I just want you to listen to this, particular, representative. It's an old clip though. This is from 1996. Okay? And this is on the house floor. And, who was president in 1996? Do you remember?
Bill Clinton. That's right. Bill Clinton. So this is a, this is a a a Democrat representative who today is railing about president Trump placing reciprocal tax tariffs on on, on foreign countries. Alright? Now if you think if you think this particular representative is harsh now and hard now on in in their position on tariffs. You should have heard this particular representative back in 1996. And, it's a it's a it's about a five minute clip, so I'm not sure I'm gonna play the whole thing for you, but, so I may stop it at some point. But, I just want you to check this out, and you'll be very surprised when you see who it is. Alright? Let's roll it. Maybe.
Alright. Well, clip number one is not working already. I'm telling you, see, this is this this goes against the rule that I that I told you I have. When you start late, don't do it. More than fifteen minutes late because you this is what happens. We'll try this again.

How far does China have to go? How much more repression, how big a trade deficit and loss of jobs for the American worker, and how much more dangerous proliferation has to exist before members of this house of representatives will say, I will not endorse the status quo. As I mentioned, it's about jobs, proliferation, and human rights, and there are those who say we shouldn't link human rights and trade and proliferation and trade. I disagree. But if we just wanna take up this issue on the basis of economics alone, indeed, China should not receive most favored nation status for men for several reasons that I'd like to go into now. I'd like to call the attention to of our colleagues to this chart on the status quo that the business community is asking each and every one of you to each and every one of us to endorse today.
Right now, we have a $34,000,000,000 trade deficit for with China, the 1999 '95 figure. It will be over $40,000,000,000 for 1996. Since the Tiananmen Square massacre, this figure has increased 1000% from 3 and a half billion then to about $34,000,000,000 now. In terms of tariffs, I think it's interesting to note that the average US MFN tariff on Chinese goods coming into The United States is 2%, whereas the average Chinese to MFN tariff on US goods going into China is 35%. Is that reciprocal on exports? China only allows certain industries into China of US, industries into China, and therefore, only 2% of US exports are allowed into China.
On the other hand, The US allows China to flood our markets with 30 a third of their exports, and that'll probably go over 40%. And and it's limitless because we have not placed any restriction. In terms of jobs, this is the biggest and cruelest hoax of all. Not only do we not have market access, not only do they have prohibitive tariffs, not only are our exports not let, let in very specifically, but China benefits with at least at least 10,000,000 jobs from US China trade. The president in his statement, requesting this special waiver said that it it, China trade supports 170,000 jobs in The United States. One Hundred And Seventy Thousand jobs, whereas our imports from China support a mill 10,000,000 jobs at least. Fact is that US China trade is a job loser.
And and one of the reasons that it is is because in order well, first, let me just make another point, and that is that our colleagues on the other side of this issue will say the trade with China exports to China have increased three times in the last ten years. They have. But they failed to mention that exports imports from China have increased 11 times, thereby leading to this huge trade deficit. The other issue, in addition, if if intellectual property is a $2,000,000,000, 3 billion dollar loss, Technology transfer is in the hundreds of billions of dollars. If you wanna sell to China your products into China, the Chinese insist that you open a factory there. They take misappropriate your technology, open factories of your their own, and then say to you, now we wanna see your plan for export. That's as simply as I can say it briefly.
But the fact is this isn't about products made in America. The Chinese want American products that are made in China. And the most serious of these, transfers of technology are in the airline industry where Boeing tail section the tail sections of the Boeing seven thirty sevens were mostly made in Wichita, Kansas. Now they are made in Shen province where workers make $50 a month, and they had the transfer of the technology and the transfer of the jobs has taken place. General Motors, Ford, they're all fighting to get in to build factories there so they can make parts there. They want MFN so they can get those parts back into The United States. So we are exporting not low tech jobs and textile jobs. We're exporting our technology.
Now if you take a country the size of China with the cheap the very cheap and and in some instances, slave labor, the lack of market access, the rip off of our intellectual property, the transfer of technology, a country that is not willing to play by the rules in any respect in this trade relationship, you have a serious threat, not only to our relationship, but to the industrialized world. And if there's one message that I want our colleagues to understand today and our constituents is that on this day, your member of congress would have drawn the line to say to the president of The United States, do something about this US China trade relationship that is a job loser for The United States. And this brings us to the point that others have said, well, we can't isolate China. Do you think for one minute that with 10,000,000 jobs at least and 35,000,000,000 and be over $40,000,000,000 this year in a trade surplus, all those billions of dollars in surplus that the Chinese are going to walk away, where are they going to take 35 to 40% of their exports?
Who's going to buy them? This is what sustains the regime. The the funding and the jobs, they can't have those people out of work. They have to be at work exporting to The United States.
[00:31:07] Unknown:
Now here's the really interesting thing. Just the other day, I think it was Thursday, and if you didn't know who that was, by the way, that was a that was your conservative member of Congress from California, Nancy Pelosi. And of course, you know, I say that conservative member of Congress quite sarcastically, but she sounded awfully conservative there, awfully Republican. No? She sure did. She sure did. But she has been an absolute critic of, president Trump's, tariffs that he unveiled on, on this past Wednesday. Now in and now her response to that has been, quote, Donald Trump's reckless tariffs will cause chaos in our economy, raise prices for consumers, hurt hardworking American families. This is not a strategy. This is the largest tax hike on the American people in history.
Didn't quite sound like that in 1996, did it? Well, it certainly didn't. It's a big difference just a few decades make. Don't you think? It's a big difference. And, for that clip, I just I wanna make sure we say thank you to Maize Moore. Great account to follow on x. So if you're not following him on, on x, it's at Maize Moore. He has great he, she, maybe, I don't know. They have great content. Great content. So you check him out at mazemoore, and so we appreciate, we appreciate that clip right there. Now another person, and I have two clips that I wanna play.
One's a little bit shorter than the other, but not quite as long as, Nancy Pelosi here. But I wanna I wanna play these two clips, because I want you to see just how much this person's position also has changed on tariffs, and on the unfair trade, and the, the the poorly negotiated trade agreements that The United States has. Alright. So let's take a listen to, let's go to clip two.
[00:33:31] Unknown:
Last year, criticizing US foreign policy, what would you do differently, Donald? I'd make our allies forgetting about the enemies, the enemies you can't talk to so easily, I'd make our allies pay their fair share. We're a debtor nation. Something's gonna happen over the next number of years with this country because you can't keep going on losing 200,000,000,000, and yet we we let Japan come in and dump everything right into our markets and everything. It's not free trade. If you ever go to Japan right now and try to sell something, forget about it, Albert. Just forget about it. It's almost impossible. They don't have laws against it. They just make it impossible. They come over here. They sell their cars, their VCRs. They knock the hell out of our companies. And, hey, I have tremendous respect for the Japanese people. I mean, you can respect somebody that's beaten the hell out of you, but they are beating the hell out of this country.
Kuwait, they live like kings. The poorest person in Kuwait, they live like kings. And and yet they're not paying. We make it possible for them to sell their oil. Why aren't they paying us 25% of what they're making? It's a joke. This this sounds like
[00:34:25] Unknown:
political presidential talk to me, and I know people have talked to you about whether or not you wanna run. Would you would you ever?
[00:34:31] Unknown:
Probably not. But I I do get tired of seeing the country rip Why would you not? I just don't think I really have the inclination to do it. I love what I'm doing. I really like it. Also, it doesn't pay as well. Yeah. It doesn't. But, you know, I just probably wouldn't do it, Oprah. I probably wouldn't, but I do get tired of seeing what's happening with this country. And if it got so bad, I would never wanna rule it out totally because I really am tired of seeing what's happening with this country, how we're how we're really making other people live like kings and we're not What do you think of this year's presidential race, the way it's shaping up? Well, it's gonna be very interesting. I I think, I think that probably George Bush has an advantage in terms of the election. I think that probably people would say that he's got, like, that little edge in terms of the incumbency, etcetera, etcetera. But I think Jesse Jackson's done himself very proud. I think Michael Dukakis has done one hell of a job, and George Bush has done a hell of a job. You know, he they all went in there sort of as semi underdogs, including George Bush, and they've all come out. I think people that are around all three of those candidates can be very proud of the jobs they've done. You've said, though, that if you did run for president, you believe you'd win.
Well, I don't know. I think I'd win. I tell you what, I wouldn't go in to lose. I've never gone in to lose in my life. And and if I did decide to do it, I think I'd be inclined I I would say that I would have a hell of a chance of winning, because I think people I don't know how your audience feels, but I think people are tired of seeing The United States ripped off. And I can't promise you everything, but I can tell you one thing. This country would make one hell of a lot of money from those people that for twenty five years have taken advantage. It wouldn't be the way it's been. Believe me.
[00:36:02] Unknown:
So interesting. Don't you think? Very interesting. So so so, of course, you know, you dated on this, on this clip. So you see, Donald Trump is the same exact person he he then as he is today. He holds the same positions. Let's take a look at, let let's go to clip let's go to seven for this one. Again, Donald Trump, and it's something, again, that he's been saying forever. Of course. I'm telling you. Let's try let's try that again.
[00:36:50] Unknown:
Okay. Well, thank you very much. I appreciate it. And I agree with you on NATO. I agree with you on other countries. I don't wanna single out Japan. I don't wanna single out Saudi Arabia, but these are countries that people understand the kind of wealth we're talking about, and I will single them out. But there are many other countries and taking tremendous advantage of this, including NATO. If you look at the payments that we're making to NATO, they're totally disproportionate with everybody else's, and it's ridiculous. As far as other causes that are near and dear Yeah. This is the cause because if we can solve this, then we're able to take care of something that I consider to be ultimately of ultimate importance, and that is the homeless situation.
That is the farmers. That is the sick. We don't have any money. We're going this country is busted, and it's busted because we're doing things that we shouldn't be doing. If we had business ability in this country, we'd be making lots of profit, so called surplus profit, and that profit, that money could be going to defend our and I literally mean defend our homeless and our poor and our sick, and our farmers. And that's where we ought to be spending the money, not giving it to countries that don't give a damn for us to start off.
[00:37:59] Unknown:
The same man today as he was in 1987, as you saw him, there with, Larry King, and the same man that you saw talking to Oprah. The same man, his positions have not changed, but yet the politician. And that's because he's not a politician. But yet you have the politicians like Nancy Pelosi, who back in 1996 was sounding the alarm about tariffs, sounding the alarm about the unfair trade, sounding the alarm on the economy, and yet today she's she plays the obstructionist role because it's politically expedient. You have Donald Trump, not a career politician, holding a line, saying the same thing he was all those years ago.
That's why the American people trust him more than anyone else. That's why the American people overwhelmingly reelected him for his second term, gave him the popular vote on top of the electoral college. That's why. Because he says what he means, and he means what he says, and he backs up everything he says with actions. You cannot do any better than that. Now just, along the same lines with the, with the tariff situation, how you remember we had our liberation day not too long ago. But, do you do remember let's go to let's go to number one here. You do remember this. Right? European Union to target Republican states with tariffs in the Trump trade war?
Do you remember seeing that? Well, guess what? Today, according to, Breitbart, the EU offers Trump zero for zero tariffs on industrial goods with The United States. EU commissioner e EU commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, said on Monday, then we're just gonna call her Ursula, said on Monday that the block has offered a zero for zero tariff trade agreement on or arrangement on industrial goods with The United States in a bid to avoid a full on trade war. Well, gee, what happened? What happened? I'm gonna tell you what happened. They thought that Donald Trump would back down, and they found out that he won't.
That he said he said what he meant, and he meant what he said, and he he pulled out the tariffs on them. While the EU chief continued to condemn the reciprocal tariff measures enacted by US president Donald Trump to rectify a long standing transit transatlantic trade imbalance as pressure from the markets began to take shape. Ursula and other top bureaucrats expressed willingness to negotiate with the White House. She said, we stand ready to negotiate with The US. We have offered zero for zero tariffs for industrial goods. We have successfully done with many other trading partners because Europe is always ready for a good deal, so we keep it on the table. Boy, how things have changed.
Boy, how things have changed. Trump's according to Lifezette, Trump tariff plan already has 50 nations scrambling. Alright. And this is Greg. Agricultural secretary, Brooke Rollins, went on to, State of the Union and, she sat down. I think it was Jake Tapper. Yes. So, she sat down with Jake Tapper, and, she really just let him have it. I mean, totally let him have it. Let's go to three on the videos.
[00:42:24] Unknown:
Republican senator Ted Cruz, a Trump ally from your home state of Texas, had to say.
[00:42:31] Unknown:
If we're in a scenario thirty days from now, sixty days from now, ninety days from now, with massive American tariffs and massive tariffs on American goods in every other country on earth, that is a terrible outcome. It's terrible for America. It will hurt jobs and hurt America.
[00:42:47] Unknown:
So how long do you anticipate this tariff chaos is going to be going on? Thirty days, sixty days, ninety days?
[00:42:56] Unknown:
Well, first of all, Jake, thank you for having me. I think it's really important to realize that last Wednesday was when the president announced, this new American order, the new American economic plan. We're now two days in. Right? You've got two days of data. Everyone, especially on your side, on the left, is freaking out. On the left. But at the end of the day, listen, this whole concept alright, Jay. Thank you. This whole concept is about rebuilding an American economy around American goods, around American industry. We do already live under a tariff regime in this country, but it's the tariff regime of China, of Mexico, of Brazil, of Australia, of countries that Mexico won't take our corn, Australia won't take our beef. The country of Honduras takes more pork than the entire European Union does, American pork, I should say. So So from our farming and ranching perspective, which is what I'm focused on, but happy to talk about anything, that it is has to it is time for a change, and that's what this president evoked last Wednesday.
So I think we'll see in short order, really positive outcome from this. We already have 55, 50 countries that have come to the table over the last few days, over the last weeks that are willing and desperate to talk to us. We are the economic engine of the world, and it's finally time that someone, president Trump, stood up for America.
[00:44:15] Unknown:
You've said a lot about how this is a negotiation. You just mentioned it again. Just yesterday, president Trump said, quote, big business is not worried about the tariffs because they know they are here to stay, unquote, and take a listen to the commerce secretary.
[00:44:29] Unknown:
I don't think there's any chance they're gonna that president Trump's gonna back off his tariffs. This is the reordering of global trade.
[00:44:38] Unknown:
So are these tariffs to be negotiated, or are these tariffs here to stay? I'm still not getting a clear message on that.
[00:44:46] Unknown:
Well, listen. This is a national security issue. This is about reshoring, thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of jobs. This is about moving our American farmers and ranchers into a new era of prosperity. This is about strong and bold leadership. And I'll tell you, Jake, this isn't just some new sort of concept that just came up under, you know, the Trump years, under the last eight or twelve years. This started in 1791 with Alexander Hamilton when he wrote a whole premise on the idea that Americans and the whole concept of America was founded on a fervent, positive protection of our goods out of America. And for a hundred and fifty years, that was the approach. A hundred and fifty years. And that's when America went from basically a a frontier country to the world's largest, most exceptional economic power. And it was the dawn of the progressive era about a hundred years ago that began to move back toward this idea of America being a neutral arbiter on the world stage. Well, listen. It's time to go back to our founding father's vision. And so as we move forward, this president is the chief dealmaker. He will ensure that America is put first, that all of these tariffs, a 300% tariff on our dairy products from Canada. I mean, it's it's absurd what our farmers and ranchers and our manufacturers have had to deal with over the last, you know, decades, and it's it's time to fix it. Yeah. The question was,
[00:46:12] Unknown:
are these tariffs here to stay as Howard Lutnick and president Trump seem to be suggesting, or is there going to be room for negotiation as you seem to be suggesting?
[00:46:24] Unknown:
Listen. We've got 50 countries that are burning the phone lines into the White House up and and probably the president's cell phone as well and probably Howard Lutnick's as well. And I've heard from some as well. This is the ultimate dealmaker who is a businessman at the head of our government, finally, that the American people said all swing states, all the popular vote, tariffs were a part of his plan. We're gonna put America First, and he will do everything in his power all day every day to do just that. Right now, we're two business days into this new American order, so I think we have a lot to be determined, but the president is resolute in his focus, in his boldness, in his fearlessness, and in his relentlessness to ensure that we're putting America First by using these tariffs along with deregulation,
[00:47:17] Unknown:
cutting taxes, energy dominant dominance. It's an entire package. But right now, obviously, the tariffs are front and center. I I agree president Trump talked about tariffs on the campaign trail. I think probably a lot of voters thought that he was talking about the kind of targeted tariffs that he implemented in the first term and not these global tariffs, that have diminished, wiped $6,600,000,000,000 of wealth off of, of Wall Street. But but I have to say he didn't, when he was campaigning, talk about the pain that he is now acknowledging. And I and I have to say we're getting a very pollyannish view of what's happening from the Trump administration. There isn't I agree with that, Jim. Well, let me just finish the question. Let me just finish the question and then you can answer it. Right. But there there is there seems to be a lack of acknowledgment of the real pain and panic people are feeling right now. And I I don't know if you saw it because you were on TV, but there was a moment on Thursday.
You were on Fox Business. You were praising president Trump's leadership celebrating these tariffs, and all the graphics surrounding you. Again, this is on Fox Business, showed the markets in a nosedive. And and so you disagree that I'm saying I say there seems to be a disconnect between what you're saying and the reaction to the world. Tell me why you disagree. Will continue.
[00:48:24] Unknown:
We are real Listen. The president has even in the State of the Union, I believe, he said that there will be some uncertainty. When we did the target of targeted tariffs in twenty seventeen, eighteen, nineteen with China, I mean, listen. I was in the West Wing. I was helping run his domestic policy agenda. I was in those conversations. Secretary Sonny Perdue, the secretary of agriculture, put together, a a a fund, basically, that allowed us to make whole farmers and ranchers that were immediately, you know, hurt and had to have some mitigation efforts. That happened. So the idea that we didn't know that there would be some uncertainty just isn't just isn't true. We knew there would be uncertainty. But to take Thursday or Friday and as we are basically laying out the vision that the president effectuated in the Rose Garden on Wednesday and to say, oh, the world is ending. The markets are crashing. The markets are adjusting. Anytime you've got a strong leader who's looking at the long term, not how do I make sure Jake Tapper says nice things about me on State of the Union. Oh, maybe I shouldn't do the tariffs today. That just isn't how this president operates. He operates in how do I save a country that for one hundred years has been sliding toward decline as we have moved all of our manufacturing out into the world, as we have bowed at the altar of other countries' tariffs, as we as we have watched our farmers and our ranchers, again, can't get our corn into Mexico, can't get our dairy into Canada, have Honduras buying more pork and poultry than the entire European Union, have a 700% tariff from Japan on our rice.
This is not okay, and it is not sustainable. And for us to continue to build, our agriculture, which is the backbone of our country, but also our manufacturing base, our energy, etcetera, for us to be able to do that, we have to put America First. So those tariffs, as the economy, the market begins to adjust, we will see a more positive as we move, I believe, very quickly. So so just in point of fact, the reason,
[00:50:19] Unknown:
that the European Union, even though they are our fourth, biggest market for agricultural products, as you know, don't take as much American pork, as you would like is because they have issues with, hormones used in pork. I don't wanna get into a whole debate over that, but that's not it. It's not an issue about tariffs. But let me ask you about the computation of these tariffs because conservative economists at the American Enterprise Institute Wait. Wait. Wait. Hold on, Jake. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. This is really important. You can't just say that. So here's the bottom line. They are using fake science
[00:50:48] Unknown:
and unsubstantiated claims to not take our products. So it isn't just that they have high tariffs. Thank you for making this point for me, by the way. I meant to make it. It's not just the tariff numbers. It's the way they've treated our products. Oh, sorry. We can't take your beef since 02/2002 because you use a certain type of feed. That's just absolute bull. It is not correct and not appropriate. Our supplies, our farmers and ranchers, we produce the safest, the most secure, the best food in the world. And so to use that for the you just say, oh, oh my goodness. We can't do it because of this reason. It's absolutely wrong, and it's not based on sound science. Okay. You can take that up with the Europeans. Conservative economist at the
[00:51:29] Unknown:
So you can always tell when a when a liberal gets beaten. They get that snarky. Well, you could take it up with the Europeans, attitude about it. But, Brooke Rollins is correct when she when, you know, talking about the markets. Yes. There is gonna be some volatility in the markets because in a in in an open, free economy, free market economy, the markets genuinely and generally take a little time to correct themselves, but they do. And when they correct themselves, it's a benefit on the whole. For example, here, here's a graphic. This is the Dow Jones.
Markets are correcting themselves. Matt Margolis puts out a great, a great little piece here on his ex post. I'm waiting for it to come up on the big monitor so I can read it. That moment when you realize the media is manipulating you into panicking over the stock market. Looks like we're doing pretty good right now. Again, it's a market adjustment. Okay? It it these things do take time to work out, and we have to stay the course. You know, the end result is going to be infinitely better than where we were just a year ago. And, you know, the idea of that that tariffs are are are no good. They they're not gonna work. This country was built on tariffs.
America saw its greatest, wealth or time of wealth prior to the, prior to the establishment of the income tax and the internal revenue. And you have all of these countries, like she said, 50 countries coming to the table. You you have, Israel came up, Netanyahu, vows to end tariffs on American goods with, with with Trump to end trade deficit. So, that's great news. That is great news. I mean, this is what this is what it's all about. I, like, if if you watch the show on or heard the show on, on Friday, you know, when I was with, Colonel Mueller, Matthias Mueller, you know, we talked about that. He asked me that question, you know, and and the and the the honest answer is, I do believe that, that President Trump is using this as a negotiation tool to renegotiate a lot of the trade agreements, to put added pressure on foreign governments, because this country has been taken a be taken advantage of for so many years, for a hundred years.
Complete trade imbalances. You heard the numbers yourself. We she just laid out a a series of numbers. Even Nancy Pelosi in 1996, you know, when we started the show. I mean, these things these things are real numbers, and it's gonna take time. There's gonna take some market corrections. But look, you know, costs have already started to go down. Costs have started to go down. I mean, egg prices are down 59% from a month ago. Gas prices are down below $3 a gallon nationwide average. The cost of food in the markets is starting to come down. I noticed that the other day when I went food shopping. This will work.
We have to give it time though. We have to give it time. So let's do that. But of course, the left isn't gonna do that. The left is gonna start spinning. They, you know, they they they have all these manufactured manufactured rallies going on around the country, paid protesters mostly, trying to convince you that that Donald Trump is hated, that, that that the people are rising up against him, even the left is is going around to try to, you know, talk about, you know, you know, don't you did you regret your vote yet? No. I paid I I voted for this. I did.
I voted for this. I, you know, do I wanna struggle? No. I don't wanna struggle. Am I willing to give president Trump the chance? Yes. Absolutely. I voted for shutting down the government. I voted for smaller government, I should say that. I voted for smaller government. I voted to to to close down these unconstitutional, departments that that have been created over the years. Department of Education, the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Energy, All the, USAID, I I voted. This is what I wanted. He promised that he was going to level the playing field and trade.
He's doing that right now. The markets are gonna be volatile, the markets are gonna kinda, you know, waiver a little bit here or there, but overall, this is gonna work, and I absolutely believe that we're gonna see a period of prosperity in this country that we have not seen in a very very long time. But we need to be patient. Gotta hold the line. Stick with it. Gotta stick with it. Don't give up. According to the Daily Mail, and, jail partners, they did a survey of over a thousand registered voters. Trump's popularity has actually increased four percentage points from 49% to 53%.
It's up a it's it's up 13 points since March 7 among those in the eighteen and twenty nine group. And, it says here, astonishingly, Trump's approval jumped six points among Democrats and Independents as well, and this is all over the tariffs. All over the tariffs. And the way he's been handling the economy, the way he's been handling international, negotiations and affairs, But the left is trying to put fear in you. The left is trying to make you feel like everything's out of control and falling apart, when for the last four years, they were walking out with their head in the sand thinking everything is okay because they got their woke agenda pushed through. That caused more damage to the country than anything else, in my opinion.
PJ Media for that, for that little clip right there I just showed you. Donald Trump is unpopular, and his policies are opposed across the board by Americans. You can be forgiven if you believe that. After all, that's the message that's being hammered out, hammered home by most major media outlets since Trump took the oath of office for the second time. Following Liberation Day, the left began to write the obituary of the Trump administration. Despite the best efforts of the media and Democrats, the American people aren't so sure about the failure of the second Trump administration. And I just showed you the numbers.
Poll was conducted from March 31 to April 3. And he says here, he said, you'd have to live in a cave not to have been exposed to the rabbit opposition to Trump's tariff plan. Even if the specifics weren't known, the American people knew the general outline of Trump's plans. What Americans do about the president's tariff plans, a plurality approved of them. This is what the Daily Mail said. One in three respondents, 36% support Trump's ten percent minimum tariff, the poll found. Only 28% are opposed to the policy, while remaining 36% were unsure. Respondents also supported by a slim margin, increasing tariffs on all goods from all foreign countries.
The survey found 39% of registered voters support increasing tariffs on all goods, while 37% oppose it. The remainder, 24%, were unsure. Voter support for sweeping tariffs on China and the European Union have gone up since last month. They also broadly support tariffs that impact specific sectors like aircraft, plastics, precious metals, and iron and steel. And then you have idiots like like Harry Sisson, Harry Sissy, you know, asking the question, you know, do you regret your vote yet? Then you had, Sonny Hostin over at the view talking about, you know, I I I bet I bet there were a lot of people that voted for Trump that wish Kamala Harris was in the White House right now.
No. Not at all. Not at all. So this is a good thing. This is a good thing. We just gotta stick it out, gotta ride it ride it out. There's gonna be some bumps, there's gonna be some bruises, there's gonna be some some pain, you know, but the market will correct like the free market always does, and then you will see prosperity like you probably haven't seen in a long time. I'm I know I'm sounding like I'm I'm reading off a a Donald Trump campaign thing, but I'm not. I'm I'm I truly believe in what he's doing, and I support him, and I am looking forward to seeing where we're gonna be, say, by say, by September.
I think we're gonna see some amazing, amazing results. We just gotta stick with it. Alright. Now, let's see. You know, just let's get away from the tariff situation. Let's transition. And, I'm gonna have to really adjust a few things here, but, let's see. How about Stephen Miller? We all know Stephen Miller, deputy chief of staff for the president. Along with the whole subject of the tariffs, there's been a lot of talk about recession. You know, everybody's afraid of the recession, the big r as they say. Well, on Thursday, Stephen Miller went on to, Fox News, Fox News America reports, and, he sat down with Sandra Smith.
And, this was, how the conversation went. It's a short clip.
[01:03:07] Unknown:
People are throwing around the r word, and they see the Dow down 2,100 points, and people are worried about a recession. They're worried that we can't do this without sending this economy into such a deep dive that we can't come back from it. And I know you guys are all about growth. I know you're about lowering taxes, rolling back regulations, and seeing that growth. Are you concerned that this is going to put us into a recession?
[01:03:29] Unknown:
The exact opposite. We inherited from Joe Biden an economy in total free fall. There has been zero jobs growth for American workers in four years. There was all jobs growth had gone to foreign workers. That is a depression, not a recession. That is a depression for the American worker. We had debt and deficits that were rising unsustainably that would lead us into a certain debt and deficit crisis. We had inflation that was in high double digits, crushing the American family, making it impossible to afford the essentials of life. We had an economy that was in a state of calamity and catastrophe.
President Trump's policy of reassuring our supply chains, pushing for total expensing of capital gains, eliminating regulation, eliminating intrusive green new scam environmental rules, pushing for the biggest, broadest tax cut in American history, and reducing taxes on American workers, including ending taxes on tips, ending taxes on overtime, ending tax on Social Security. This economic program is the single most important program for American wealth, prosperity, and rejuvenation that we've ever seen in this country. Alright.
[01:04:39] Unknown:
So all this talk about recession, again, we needed to give it time. We gotta let it run its course. The market's picking up again. It's going to pick up again even more. And like Miller said, you had four years where there was zero growth. Zero job growth for the American people. Last week, they released the job creation number of 280,000 new jobs. Over $5,000,000,000,000 in investments coming in. Folks, we're gonna do great. This is gonna be fine. It's gonna be totally fine. Just gotta stick with it. Gotta stick with it. Now on, on Sunday on Sunday, on, on Air Force One, a reporter, was asking the president about the impact of the tariffs, you know, talking about how the stock market is, it's kinda rattled.
And, of course, you know, because of all that, you know, the the the Democrats are just apoplectic about it. But when Bloomberg's Ann Marie Horden asked whether there was a point at which he'd be unwilling to tolerate market pain caused by his tariff policies, President Trump had this.
[01:06:46] Unknown:
Likely in the world. Is president there just what it should be. Is there a Trump put, though? Are you is there a mark is there pain in the market at some point you're unwilling to tolerate this idea of a Trump put? Is there a threshold?
[01:06:58] Unknown:
I I think your question is so stupid. I mean, I think it's a, I don't want anything to go down. But sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something. And we have such a a horrible we have been treated so badly by other countries because we had stupid leadership that allowed this to happen. They
[01:07:20] Unknown:
Stupid leadership that allowed this to happen. You know what? The one thing you have to say about president Trump is that he does not hold back. When he hears something stupid, he he addresses it. He puts the call out. He he he he calls it out for what it is. I'm looking forward. There was a quote that I I'd wanted to, bring out, but, no, it's not on this one. That's another article. I must have passed it. It. Must have passed it already. And again, like we said before, you know, a a lot the the panic over the stock market is, of course, media driven. I showed you the clip, the, the the graphic from Matt Margolis. I'll put it up there again. It's worth a good look.
We're gonna do just fine. We just need to stay the course. Alright. Now just switching gears, and and going a little bit of a different direction. So Barack Obama, who I really can't stand. I just can't stomach the man. I just he is he's such a deceptive, deceitful, horrible man. I just I just don't like anything about him. So, you know, and if you're a fan of him, I I apologize, but not for what I'm saying or what I'm thinking. I apologize that, you know, on your behalf that you like this person. But, Obama tried to take some cheap shots at, at president Trump at, at Hamilton College, earlier this week, which, absolutely backfired on him. Absolutely backfired on him.
So, basically, what happened here was he he was trying to push Democrat and, media talking points. But in the points that he was trying to push, would would would he failed to I I think, anyway, what he failed to realize was that, you know, we remember what he did in his presidency. We remember the things that he did. Let's take a look at, at at, clip five. That's graphic five. Clip. Clip. Clip. Clip. There it is.
[01:10:06] Unknown:
Imagine
[01:10:07] Unknown:
if I had done any of this.
[01:10:10] Unknown:
Let let let me just I I I just I just wanna be clear about it. Smirk and laugh. Right? Imagine that.
[01:10:19] Unknown:
Because he knows what he did.
[01:10:26] Unknown:
Imagine if I had pulled Fox News' credentials from the White House press corps. You're laughing, but no. That this is what's happening. Imagine if I'd, I'd said to law firms that were representing parties that were upset with policies my administration had initiated, that you will not be allowed into government buildings. We will punish you economically for dissenting from the Affordable Care Act or the Iran deal. We will ferret out students who protest against my policies. It's unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that for me or a whole bunch of my predecessors.
So, and I say this I say this not on a partisan basis. This has to do with something more precious, which is who are we as a country, and what values do we stand for?
[01:12:11] Unknown:
Right. Exactly. But what about that time that your DOJ and, and Eric Holder only spied on then Fox News correspondent James Rosen secretly seized AP phone records and rejected more FOIA requests than any other administration in history says, Joe Concha. How about that one? Do you remember that? Or or how about how how about this one? Obama actually did try and and bar Fox News from the White House press pool. He did use the IRS to go after Tea Party organizations, and I remember that very, very clearly because I was part of a Tea Party organization. I I remember that. Campaigning against, you know, when when when he rolled out Obamacare and it was voted on in the middle of the night, you know, without reading any of it.
And didn't he actually use the FBI?
[01:13:36] Unknown:
Does it mention in the tweet? I don't I don't remember. I didn't see it.

What about when he used the FBI to spy on Trump's campaign? No need to imagine. Obama did some did something worse than any president in history. He used the full weight of the federal government to orchestrate a smear campaign, framing his successor as a Russian agent. It remains the most disgraceful abuse of power in modern American history. I mean, really, what planet do these people live on? What reality do these people live in? I mean, it's it's it's like it's either that or they think that the American people are just that stupid. They think you're that dumb that you're not gonna remember what happened just not even ten years ago.
The uproar that was taking place in the country over the things that the Obama administration had undertaken with the, with the the IRS targeting conservative groups, not just the Tea Party, but other conservative groups, churches, threatening to pull their tax exempt status. You know, as much as they would like people to forget these things, people don't forget, especially people that were directly impacted by the things that you did. So the the whole phony facade of not me, it wasn't me. I wouldn't do those things. I never did anything like that. I had the most, the most non corrupt administration ever. Yeah. Okay.
Interesting. Right? Very interesting. Alright. I got, I got three more pieces I wanna get to, and then we're gonna we're gonna say goodnight. So hopefully, it'll be done in in about ten minutes. I hear Charlie at the door letting me know that it's time, so, we're gonna try to get through these. What I wanted to end the show with though today, because, you know, tariffs and all that stuff and and recession talk and market talk all that's, you know, it's heavy. It's, you know, it's it's not the lightest subject, especially to have on a Monday. You know, you're trying to come out of the weekend, you're trying to, you know, you don't you don't want something so heavy. Right? But it's important. We had to talk about it. So I'm gonna close out with three stories of absolute winning.
And I wanna know, honestly tell me, are you tired of this? Are you tired of winning these things? Alright. So, Supreme Court Justice John Roberts on Monday, that'd be today, granted an administrative stay that halts a lower court's looming deadline for the Trump administration to return a Maryland man who was supposedly wrongly deported to El Sal El Salvador. Now the article says that the Trump administration has acknowledged the error in deporting, Kilmar Abrego Garcia to an El Salvador prison, and he was ordered to return to have him returned by, midnight on Monday.
But the Trump administration did ask the the Supreme Court to get involved. And shockingly shockingly, I and I I cannot emphasize that enough. Shockingly, John Roberts agreed to hold the deadline until the court as a whole can hear the entire matter. And interestingly enough, he didn't comment on any of the underlying merits in the case. So, this is a this is a win. And in case you don't remember, Abrego Garcia was he was part of the, the the hundreds of, alleged MS thirteen and Trendyargo, gang members that were deported last month, to El Salvador. The thing is with, Abrego Garcia is that he he is deportable, but there were issues with him going to El Salvador, which is, I believe, where he had some affiliations of where he he he came through or came from, for his safety. So he could be deported anywhere, just not El Salvador. Alright. So if there was an error, that that's where the error was.
The left is making it sound like he wasn't supposed to be deported at all. This is a fine up standing member of society, you know. He has children and, they even have disabilities, and, not mocking people disabilities, but just they play on your heartstrings with that. They want you to they want you to cringe and care. Oh my god. No. He had a child with disabled. It it it how so cruel and taking him away from his path. You know? Yeah. He'd been living in this country for twenty years. Illegally. Didn't bother to try to get papers, didn't bother to try to get citizens, nothing. So, you know, play the violin.
So that's win number one. Trump admin, chief justice Roberts, halts the deadline for the Trump admin to return the man who was quote unquote wrongly deported. Let's see. The appeals court appeals court allows Doge to access sensitive information from multiple federal agencies. Alright. There was a this this whole big thing about, you know, about Doge and they're getting all of your personal information and, you know, the richest man in the world for some reason needs to have all of your information. In the meantime, your information is shared with numerous numerous numerous agencies and organizations, doctors offices, have your Social Security number, driver's license number, have all the same information that's being held on this on on these computers that that DOSH is looking through, as as part of the government efficiency, operation that's being undertaken.
Federal appeals court on Monday, today, reinstated the Department of Government efficiencies, Doge access to sensitive information housed by government agencies. The American Federation of Teachers has accused the Trump administration of violating federal privacy laws by giving Doge access to systems with personnel personal information on millions of Americans without the Americans' consent. US District Judge Deborah Boardman issued a preliminary injunction last month, on the department's access to information at the education, treasury, and office of personnel management ruling that Trump administration failed to justify why it needs access to the data. No. I I think he that they were pretty clear as to why they needed access to the data.
The three appeals court judges on the fourth US circuit of appeals overturned that ruling in a split decision. And and and just goes on breaking down who who voted how. So which is not important because what's is important is the fact that it was overturned, and Doge now has access to the information that it needs so that it can probably properly audit these agencies. So that's win number two. Alright? Now win number three, this is a good one. This is a very good one. Supreme Court overturns judge Boasberg sides with Trump on deporting gang members under the 1798 law.
Supreme Court on Monday handed president Donald Trump a major victory, Monday today, by allowing him to invoke the seventeen ninety eight aliens and Alien Enemies Act to deport suspected gang members of Tran d'Aragua. The Supreme Court in a five four ruling on Monday handed president Trump a major victory by allowing him to evoke to invoke, the AEA. The ruling overturns US J US Judge James Boseberg's March Fifteen order that temporarily blocked deportations under the wartime act by granting the Trump administration's request to vacate temporary restraining orders Boseberg placed on the order. The judges, slapped down Boseberg, noting the high court had already settled issues over the law in 1948 and limited judges' ability to interfere with the president under the law to, to a habeas petition.
The gang members' lawyers challenged the government's interpretation of the act and assert that they do not fall within the category of removable alien enemies, but we did not reach those arguments, the justice ruled. Quote, challenges to remove under the AEA, a statute which largely precludes judicial review, must be brought in habeas, the ruling also added. The justices also point poignantly slammed the judge and the lawyers in the case for what's being called judge shopping, stating the plaintiffs were being held in text, stating the plaintiffs were being held in a Texas detention center and had no right to have their case heard before Bozberg in Washington DC. The detainees are confined in Texas, so venue is improper in the District Of Columbia, the justices declared.
And of course, once this information came out, the president went and posted on truth, the Supreme Court has upheld the rule of law in our nation by allowing a president, whoever that may be, to be able to secure our great borders to secure our borders and protect our families and our country, a great day for justice in America. And I firmly agree with that. Great day for justice in America. Alright. So those are your three victories, coming out of today. I hope you, I hope you got as much of a joy out of that as I did after especially after all the tariff talk and recession talk and all that stuff. So really hope that you enjoyed that one. Alright.
