All right. Hey folks, this is Joe Rooz and we are coming to you live tonight from the Asylum Studios, bringing you the best quality political talk radio we could muster without all the bluster. From the beautiful city of Eagle Pass, Texas, welcome to the podcast. Alright, folks. Hey. Hope you guys had a great weekend. We're back to it. It is Monday, May 2025. And it's another another week that I get to spend with you. Or you get to spend with me, depending on your perspective there. So before we even get anywhere else, I'm just gonna apologize for that in the background. I do have the studio AC unit on tonight because at, start time of the show outside, it is 92 degrees. And, even though I've had the AC unit running since, oh, 03:00 central time, it is currently 81 degrees here in the studio, so it's pretty hot.
And, if I shut that thing off, it's gonna get hotter really, really quick. But, that that's alright. This is what it's like to live in Texas. In the morning, it was quite chilly, had a little frost on the car. By the time I got to work about an hour and a half later, yeah, it was already starting to sweat. So, but, hey. Like I said, that's that's Texas, And that's what you get when you live down here close to the border like I do. So it's a lot of fun. It's a lot of fun. But, folks, I hope you guys had a great weekend again. You know, I really look forward to being here tonight. A lot of things happened over this weekend, politically with the administration. There's something new that's happening. And it's it's it truly is exciting, you know.
When, Donald Trump was, was running for president for this term, you know, he he said that, this was gonna be the golden age of America. And, the way it looks, it that's exactly the way it looks. It looks like we're trending in that direction. So it's exciting stuff, and we're gonna get into all of that stuff in just a little bit. But there's there's gonna be just a couple of areas that we're gonna really focus on, tonight. And then, you know, we'll hit a few headlines along the way, and we'll see, you know, how everything else kinda pans out. And then, then we'll wrap this thing up tonight. No show on Tuesday. We're we're sticking to the Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. And then on Wednesday night, barring any changes, we're gonna have Charlie Johnson on, the, chief consciousness officer, and we're gonna find out what exactly a chief consciousness officer is, what it entails, what do they do, and, do you really need one? So, so that's gonna be a really interesting conversation, and that'll be in the first hour of the show on Wednesday night. And then when we're finished talking with Charlie, we'll get into some of the headlines, and, we'll see how the rest of the night goes from that point on. Alright. When I, and and some people laugh when I talk about Txitcoin because, you know, it's a it's a cryptocurrency. It's not as pop it's not as popular yet as as a Bitcoin or a Dogecoin or or or anything like that. So people are a little skeptical of it, but, hey, Lou, that's fine. People were skeptical about Bitcoin. And, if I if I would have been more minded that way, I would have purchased some Bitcoin when it came out for, like, a couple of bucks a coin because now it's worth over a hundred thousand dollars for one Bitcoin. So, kinda kick myself for that and, if you're maybe you're kicking yourself for that too. But, here's a good opportunity for you. Get up on TEXA coin.
I purchased my first, TEXA coins at, I think it was like 40 a little bit less than 40¢ a coin. And, as of today, it's over 80¢ a coin. So I doubled what I what I invested. So it's not too bad. Check it out, and, you never know. It it could be really worth something, quite valuable at some point down the road, maybe a lot sooner than you think. Alright. Well, I think that, with all of that said, I can turn off the, Alex Jones stuff. Alright. And I think that, with all of that said, we're gonna start saying our goodbyes to the folks over on, on x, YouTube, and Twitch. And, hopefully, we'll see you over there on Rumble. [00:11:59] Unknown:
Alright.
[00:12:06] Unknown:
Well, again, it's a really, really good weekend, for the Trump administration. Late last week, Scott Besant had mentioned that, there was gonna be a delegation, going out to Geneva to talk with China about the trade deficits. And, this weekend, we got word that, that, there was a breakthrough, that, that The United States had reached a trade agreement with China. And, all that information came out to us yesterday at, Sunday evening, And, it it it followed, several hours of discussions in involving the, treasury secretary Scott Bessent, US Trade Representative Jameson Greer, and, of course, the the, representatives from China.
And, folks, this is big. This is very, very big. And, you know, the of course, you know, the media is is spinning this like it's it's a, it's a, a loss for the administration that Trump capitulated. And, you know, he broke down, and China actually came out the the victor in this stuff in in this, in this agreement. But you know something? When you when we actually sit here and break this whole thing down, you're gonna understand how that is absolutely a fallacy, how that is absolutely not true. This administration has pulled off an incredible trade deal with China, and, it's huge. It's a it's a ninety day suspension of the tariffs, that were imposed on April 2, and that gives the administration and China, the opportunity to iron out all the details, get everything, signed, sealed, and delivered over the course of those ninety days, and then those things would become permanent.
But, let's, let's, let's head over to some of the audio, the video actually that we have, on some of these details. Here's, here's Scott Bessent on, on Sunday. Alright. Well, strike one. Try again. Strike two, and we'll try again for the third time. Alright. Well, I guess that's not working. As usual, thank you, rumble studio. Should I try it again?
[00:14:50] Unknown:
We have, reached the an agreement on a ninety day pause, and substantially move down the tariff levels. Both sides on the reciprocal tariffs will move their tariffs down 115%. We had very robust discussions. Both shot both sides showed a great respect. It was a chance for me to meet the Chinese delegation. The vice premier I had previously had only a video call with. Ambassador Jamieson was familiar with two of the other leaders on the delegation, from his previous time. So there was very good personal interaction. Both countries represented their national interest very well.
We concluded that we have shared interest, and we both have an interest in, balanced trade. The US will continue moving towards that.
[00:16:19] Unknown:
So, so basically, the deal was this. The the tariffs that Donald Trump announced against China on April 2, are gonna be cut by, 24 percentage points for this temporary period that that they're that they're they've been talking about. And, but there will be a remaining 10% tariff from from from that from that announcement. Alright? And then, China agreed to the same, adding that it will adopt all the necessary administrative measures. This is a quote. Adopt all necessary administrative measures to suspend or remove the non tariff countermeasures taken against The United States since April 2. So, so basically, under this deal, the the the reciprocal, tariffs, for both countries is gonna be reduced by about a 15.
Alright? And that's that's big. That that's that's very big. Alright? So the The United States is gonna lower its tariffs on Chinese goods from a 45% to 30%, and then China is gonna reduce its tariffs on American products from a 25% to 10%. Alright. So this is where I say that this is a win for this administration. Alright. Because, you know, you have the media, the left media, of course, is out there spewing all the trash that, you know, that that Trump capitulated, you know, that he's that he's he's backing off the tariffs, because, you know, tariffs don't work and and so on and so forth.
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but we're dropping our rates down to 30%. China is dropping their rates down to 10. So, really, who's coming out ahead on this? The United States. Right? The United States is coming out on top in this. So where does the left come with this is a loss? I don't get that. I don't understand that. I don't I don't I don't see where where they can get. I mean, unless, of course, you know, they went to a government school, and and they they they went through the, you know, the new math that they teach now, and, you know, common core stuff. I mean, maybe that's how they figure out they're at a loss. Because, you know, according to the way I learned numbers, 30% is more than 10%.
So how can you say that this is a loss? You can't. This is an absolute victory. This is a deal that's gonna benefit both countries. Because the next the next thing was if they couldn't come to an agreement today, there was gonna be what they call decoupling, which is what nobody wants. Because what decoupling is is a separation. There's no more trade between the two countries. They decouple. They separate. So all in all, this is a huge, huge win for The United States. And then on top of that, Besson said that there's they have the mechanism to continue talks, which is great.
Now another thing that came up during the course of the of the conversations regarding this trade stuff is is, is is what China is going to do to help, combat the flow of fentanyl coming into the into The United States. And and, Scott Bessent actually had a comment on that, which was, quite surprising.
[00:20:23] Unknown:
This does not include any sector specific tariffs that have put been put across the, all of our trading partners. And as the ambassador said, I think he would agree with me that the upside surprise for me, from this weekend was the level of Chinese engagement on the fentanyl crisis in The United States. They brought the deputy minister for security Public safety. For public safety, who is not traditionally part of, the trade team or the negotiating team, and he had a very robust and highly detailed discussion.
[00:21:12] Unknown:
And, ambassador Greer, also jumped in on the conversation on this. And so today, with this agreement,
[00:21:20] Unknown:
we come to agreement that the that our reciprocal tariff rate, will go down to a 10 will go down to 10% on The United States side, so it goes down a 15%. We enter into a ninety day pause period for negotiations, which both the Chinese and United States are very committed to, And the Chinese on their side also go down a 15% to 10%, and they remove, the counter measures that they have in place. To to be very clear, other measures that The United States has put in place in the past, whether it's, you know, tariff measures from 2018 or since, tariffs under other statutory authorities, tariff like the fentanyl, those remain, unchanged, for now to decide.
I'll just make one point is that both the Chinese and United States, agreed to work constructively together on fentanyl, and there's a positive path forward there as well.
[00:22:15] Unknown:
So this is this is incredibly this is an incredible victory for this administration. And, Scott Besson also went on to talk about how, The US was addressing independence on critical supplies and, of course, now a more balanced trade. Throughout
[00:22:38] Unknown:
the trade process, we have had a plan. We have a process in place. And now with the Chinese after this weekend, we have a mechanism for continued talks. So process, plan, and mechanism. I would say, one of the big takeaways from this weekend, The United States will continue a strategic rebalancing the in many areas that were exposed as supply chain weaknesses, during COVID, whether it's medicines, whether it's semiconductors, steel, the other we've we've identified five or six, strategic industries and supply chain vulnerabilities, and we will continue moving toward US independence and or, reliable supplies from allies on those.
But the consensus from both delegations this weekend is neither side wants a decoupling. And what had occurred with these very high tariffs, as ambassador Greer said, was an the equivalent of an embargo, and neither side wants that. We do want trade. We want more balanced trade, and I think that both sides are committed to achieving that. We would like to see, China open to more US goods. We expect that as the negotiations proceed, that there will also be a possibility of purchase agreements to pull what is our largest bilateral trade deficit into balance, that has gotten, out of balance.
And much of this has happened, through neglect over the past four years as the previous administration, did not engage on this issue. That was put forward to us by the Chinese, in fact, and we can see it the in what happened to the phase one agreement. We are look we are only looking forward, and we look forward to very good discussions now that we have the mechanism created in Geneva this weekend, for, for talks.
[00:25:27] Unknown:
Now also today, the the administration published on the, the White House website, the fact sheet as let me screen share this. So you have the fact sheet here that, president Donald j Trump secures a historic trade win for The United States, securing another historic deal. Today, on the heels of a brand of the brand new deal with The United Kingdom, President Donald J Trump reaching agreement with China to reduce China's tariffs and eliminate retaliation, retain a US baseline tariff on China, and set a path for future discussions to open market access for American exports. Both parties affirm the importance of a critical bilateral economic and trade relationship.
For too long, unfair trade practices and America's massive trade deficit with China have fueled the offshoring of American jobs and the decline of our manufacturing sector. In reaching agreement, The United States and China will each lower tariffs by 115% while retaining, an additional 10% tariff. Other US measures will remain in place. Both sides will take these actions by February, which is Wednesday. This trade deal is a win for The United States demonstrating President Trump's unparalleled expertise in securing deals that benefit the American people. And then it go of course, it goes on and breaks down, the actions of of each party. So, China will remove the retaliatory tariffs it announced since February and will also suspend or remove the non tariff countermeasures taken against The United States since April 2. China will also suspend its initial 34% tariff on The United States, for ninety days, but will retain a 10% tariff during the period of the pause.
The American actions. The US will remove the additional tariffs imposed on China on April 8 and April 9, but will retain all duties imposed on China prior to April 2, including section three zero one tariffs, section two thirty two tariffs, and tariffs imposed in response to the fentanyl national emergency invoked pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and most favored nation tariffs. The US will suspend its 34% reciprocal tariff imposed on April 2 for ninety days, but retain a 10% tariff during the pause. The 10% tariff, continues to set a fair baseline that encourages domestic production, strengthens our supply chain and ensures American trade policy supports American workers first.
Imposing by imposing reciprocal tariffs, President Trump is ensuring our policy works for the American economy, addresses our national emergency brought on by our growing persistent trade deficit, and levels the playing field for American workers and producers. Unlike previous administrations, president Trump took a tough, uncompromising stance on China to protect American interests and stop unfair trade practices. And then it goes on, The US goods trade debts with China was 295,400,000,000.0 in 02/2024, the largest with any trading partner. Today's agreement works toward addressing these imbalances to deliver real lasting benefits the lists of the, involved parties, and The United States and China will take aggressive actions to stem the flow of fentanyl and other precursors from China to illicit drug producers in North America.
So, folks, this is a tremendous, tremendous win for this administration. You see, for how long have we heard from the left and from the left wing media that tariffs don't work, tariffs aren't going to work, tariffs will never work. Folks, Donald Trump uses the tariffs as a negotiating piece, and you're seeing the results of it. Donald Trump posted this. In just three months, trillions of dollars, and therefore, record numbers of jobs have been pouring into The USA. This is because of my tariff policy and our great November win. The very stupid Democrats are doing everything within their power to disparage what's happening. They are totally unhinged and have lost all levels of confidence. It is a financial revolution, and they are being crushed.
MAGA. And and it's it's absolutely right. It is absolutely correct. The tariffs have brought in trillions of dollars into the, US Treasury. And because of that, the administration is talking about eliminating personal income taxes for, individuals earning $250,000 or less a year. Personally, I think they should be eliminated altogether for for everybody. There's there shouldn't be a cutoff for it, but it's a step in the right direction. These tariffs and the plan the tariff plan that that Donald Trump has in place is going to make America competitive again, wealthy again, and not dependent on foreign countries like China for the majority of the goods that we have in our country.
It'll make American products competitive. Because, you know, the all the argument is, you know, well, they're they're cheaper in from when you get them from China, you know, they're cheaper. You know, everything's cheaper everywhere else except American made products. Well, that's because of the tariffs that are placed on Americans. So what president Trump is doing with these tariffs is using them as a bargaining chip. He's a negotiator. This is what he does. You know, he's a businessman first. And you can tell. You can absolutely tell when you listened when you listened to him talk.
He doesn't talk to you like a politician. He talks to you like just an average everyday guy, and that's what resonates with the American people. You know, Joe Biden would go out with all of his, you know, pre planned talking points and would basically just recite them that, you know, just as they were. Would only take pre pro predetermined questions that he already had the answers to, like most politicians do. I mean, you know, But not Donald Trump. Donald Trump goes out there, he talks to the people. People it resonates with the people. People trust Donald Trump with the economy. And you're seeing it right now.
You're seeing energy prices are coming down, gas gas prices are coming down. I wish the energy prices come down a little bit faster because my electric bill's ridiculous sometimes, but but energy prices are coming down, gas prices are coming down, food prices are coming down, and that's all because of the of the economic policies that this administration is putting in place. Again, it's not gonna fix everything overnight. It's gonna take time to do that, of course, but in just three months, you're seeing the effects of this. Now just imagine what the next almost four years it can bring.
That's why I said earlier in the show that this is exciting. This is exciting stuff. You know? The the country is on the right track. The country is starting to feel better about itself about itself. The people in this country, you know, the the the lunatics on the left excluded in this, of course, but Americans are proud again. And they'll be even more proud as the these jobs come back, manufacturing picks up here in the country, and we're reaping the rewards of these tariffs or reaping the rewards of this economic policy that that the president's putting in place. This is amazing stuff.
Absolutely amazing stuff. And, how you how you could say that this is a bad thing for the country, I don't understand. I really don't the only way I could see somebody saying that it's a bad thing for this country is is the, you know, the the elitist left because they don't want you to be wealthy. They don't want you to be comfortable in your life. They they they wanna control all the wealth so that they can dictate to you how you live your life. But I was looking, I was looking over the at some of the clips and everything from, from this and because this is great. I I've I've been following this all week, and this is just great news, and I am thrilled, absolutely thrilled that that disagreement with China has taken place. Next is European Union, you know, because because they're worse than China.
They're worse than China. But, I I was looking over this article on, in, on Red State, and, Scott Bessent basically said that the previous administration said well, the Chinese delegation basically said that when when the Biden administration came in, they base they ignored the trade agreement that was made before the the the first Trump administration walked out the door. Here's a short clip. Let's let's take a listen.
[00:35:34] Unknown:
What has to happen is it has to be fair for the American people. But in January 2020, president Trump produced a template. We had an excellent trade agreement with China and the Biden administration chose not to enforce it. The the Chinese delegation basically told us that once President Biden came into office. They just ignored their obligations. So, you know, we all already have a large framework. The other thing to remember here, Jonathan, is that this is a pause pause down to 10% the April 2 level for China is 34% so, we will be working to see where their final reciprocal number ends up, and the negotiations are a combination of tariffs, non tariff trade barriers, currency manipulation, and subsidies of labor and capital.
[00:36:36] Unknown:
So so that should irritate even if you're not into economics, even if you're not into trade policy or anything like that, that should just irritate everyone. That once again, Joe Biden and the Democrats did not defend the interests of The United States. They did not defend the American worker. They did not support the American worker. These are the kind of things that took place, and and these are the kind of things that that that that made everything such a mess under the Biden administration. It's this lack of care. It's this lack of concern about your own people, your fellow countrymen.
It wasn't because of Joe Biden's connection with China that he didn't follow through on this on this framework of of a trade deal that that was left from the previous Trump administration? Could that have been it? Could it be because of the cognitive decline of of Joe Biden? No matter how you look at it, though, it's weak. It was weakness, and the Chinese took advantage of the weakness. You see the difference between what Joe Biden administrations did and what the Trump administration has done. Joe Biden and his administration and the Democrats in general project weakness, and that weakness is taken advantage of, not just by China, but by the the, the the Middle East, by Europe. The world takes advantage of a weak America.
And because of that weakness, China just basically ran all over us. And now the Trump administration has to come in because the Biden administration did absolutely nothing to try to stop it. Now the Trump administrate administration comes in once again and has to clean up the mess. Just think about it. From the border, having a wide open border, where millions of illegal aliens cross into this country, to trafficking children, almost 300,000 children have they have no idea where they are or who they're with, to embarrassing the country on the on on with the with the, withdrawal from Afghanistan, Joe Biden had to be probably the worst person to ever occupy the Oval Office.
I mean, I can keep on going, you know, selling the American worker down the road down down the river with the with the with the trade practices of of the administration. The, energy prices, the rate of inflation, the stupid decisions that they made on basis of diversity, equity, and inclusion. And this was and and and Joe Biden was the guy that the Democratic party wanted to try to push on us again for another four years until they swapped him out with Kamala Harris. I don't understand why in looking at the in looking at the the the contrast between the Democrat platform, the Republican platform. The Republican platform is there for the working man.
The Republican platform, and it's evident if you look at the trade policy of this administration, putting the American worker first, putting America First, Americans First. I don't care what happens in China. I don't care what happens to Chinese workers. I don't care what happens to their economy. I care about what happens here. This administration came in. This administration held China's feet to the fire, and they hammered out a deal over this past weekend that not only benefits The United States, but it benefits China as well. So everybody's gonna walk away from this happy, But I think the most important message that's being sent out by this is that The United States is not messing around.
This administration is not messing around. Like Donald Trump says, we have the cards. We have all the cards. And that leaves them with no room to move to maneuver. That leaves them with no wiggle room. That leaves them with nothing except to have to sit down and talk and negotiate. This is great stuff, folks. This is great stuff. And, you know, one of the other benefits that that took place from this this deal between between China and The United States is that the stock market reacted. Breitbart. Dow jumps nearly 1,000 s in S and P 500. The S and P 500 climbs 2.6% following a ninety day truce in The US China trade war.
US stocks are leaping Monday, that would be today, after China and The United States announced a ninety day truce in their trade war. They agreed to take down most of their tariffs that economists warn could start a recession and create shortages on The US store shelves. The S and P 500 was 2.6 higher in early trading and back within 5.5 of its all time high set in February. Since falling nearly 20% below that mark last month, the index has been roaring higher on hopes that president Donald Trump will lower his tariffs after reaching trade deals with other countries. The index, which sits at the heart of many four zero one k accounts, is back above where it was in April 2, Trump's Liberation Day, when he announced stiff stiff worldwide tariffs that caused worries to spike about potentially self inflicted recession.
The Dow Jones average was up 957 points or 2.53% as of 09:35AM eastern time, and the Nasdaq composite was 3.6 higher. Crude oil, it it wasn't just stocks surging following the what one analyst called a best case scenario for US China tariff talks. Crude oil prices jumped more than 3% because global economy, less weakened by tariffs, would be hungrier for fuel. The value of the dollar climbed against everything from the euro to the Japanese yen to the Swiss franc. Treasury yields jumped on expectations that the Federal Reserve won't have to cut interest rates so deeply this year in order to protect the economy from the from the damage of tariffs. So another win.
Another win all around. And, Carolyn Levitt posted this, and there there's nothing more truer than than what she posted right here. In one week, president Trump, one week, reached a trade deal with The UK, negotiated a trade deal with China, secured a cease fire with the Houthis, cease secured cease fire between India and Pakistan, freed American hostage, Eden Alexander, from from Gaza, and then signed a historic e executive order to slash drug prices. And the historic president delivering historic results, there's much more work to do. The best is yet to come. Just think about that.
In one week, one, two, three, four, five, six major major events. The trade deal with The UK, trade deal with China, ceasefire with the Houthis, ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Remember, India Pakistan, Two nuclear powers. Free the American hostage, Eden Alexander from Gaza, and of course, sign in the historic executive order for for drug prices, which we're gonna talk about here in in just a minute. So, folks, how anyone how anyone can say that this administration is not accomplishing anything, that that how anyone can say that this administration is in some kind of a disarray. I heard that comment over the weekend as well.
That how no they just look at what was done in the course of a week. Look what's been done over the course of three months. There there has been more done to benefit this country in the first three months of this administration that that has been done in the entire four years of the Biden administration, and that is incredible and then, of course, we have the executive order that we just read about on drug prices and, and, of course, the, favored nation status. Here's Carolyn Levitt. Big fan of her. Really am.

So this pharmaceutical deal, I'm just going off the Truth Social post. It says it's a long one. But he says, I'm pleased to announce that today, the White House at 09:00 will be signing one of the most consequential executive orders ever. They'll be reducing pharmaceuticals by about 80. Essentially, we are going to pay less than the country that's paying the least for pharmaceuticals from here on in. How does that work?
[00:48:33] Unknown:
First of all, it cannot be overstated how big of a deal this executive order that president Trump will be signing in a couple of hours is for American families and especially our seniors who have been ripped off by very large and rich pharmaceutical companies. The United States Of America is less than 5% of the world's population, yet we purchase 75% of big pharma's profits. We pay an astronomical amount in comparison to other countries around the world. So the president is signing an executive order today that is going to implement most favored nations drug pricing, and it's going to reduce the cost of drugs in this country by more than half at least. America is going to pay a better rate and a fairer rate to the rest of the world. That's what the American people deserve. This is huge news. And also, I will add, we know that health care costs and drug prices were the number one driver of Biden inflation. So not only are we bringing those down, but we are ending Biden inflation once and for all.
[00:49:34] Unknown:
Now over the weekend, Donald Trump posted he set up a teaser. He posted this this message on truth. My next truth will be one of the most important and impactful I have ever issued. Enjoy. Gotta love it. And, and then he followed that up with this truth, and this is this is the one that, they referenced in the clip they just played for you. So it's I know it's kinda lengthy, but he says, for many years Let me see if it comes up. For many years, the world has wondered why prescription drugs and pharmaceuticals in The United States Of America were so much higher in price than they were in any other nation. Sometimes being five to 10 times more expensive than the same drug manufactured in the exact same laboratory or plant by the same company.
And then, of course, it goes on and where he was talking about prescription drug and pharmaceutical prices will be reduced almost immediately by 30% to 80%. They will rise throughout the world in order to equalize and to be the and for the for the first time in many years, bring fairness to America. So taking a step to level the playing field and reduce the cost of prescription drugs. Another victory. Here's, here's RFK today Talking about the drug prices. Or actually, you know what? Let's, let's go to President Trump first. Let's do this one first. Let's try that again.
[00:51:53] Unknown:
But starting today, The United States will no longer subsidize the health care of foreign countries, which is what we were doing. We're subsidizing others' health care. Countries where they paid a small fraction of what for the same drug that what we pay many, many times more for. And we'll no longer tolerate profiteering and price gouging from big pharma, but again, it was really the countries that forced big pharma to do things that frankly, I'm not sure they really felt comfortable doing. But they've gotten away with it, these countries. European Union has been brutal. Brutal.
And the drug companies actually told me, sir, it was just brutal how they forced them. And European Union is suing all our companies, Apple, Google, Meta. They're suing all our companies. They end up, they have judges that are, European Union centric, and they get rewarded 15,000,000,000, 17 billion, 20 billion, and they use that to run their operation. Not gonna happen any longer, that I can tell you. And then he went on to say this. For the first time in many years, we'll slash the cost of prescription drugs, and we will bring fairness to America. Drug prices will come down by much more, really, if you think. 59 if you if you think of a drug that is sometimes 10 times more expensive, it's much more than the 59%.
You know, it depends on the way you wanna analyze it, but in one way you could analyze it that way. But between fifty nine and eighty and, I guess, even 90%. So when I worked so hard in the first term and if I got prices down remember, I I was the only one to ever get prices down for a full year, but I'd get them down, like, 2%, and I thought it was like a big deal. Well, we're getting them down sixty, seventy, 80, 90 percent, but actually more than that if you think about it in the way, mathematically. And, pharma has to say, we're sorry, but, we'll not be able to do this any longer to these comp to these, countries that have been so tough. They've been very tough, nasty.
It's trade. It's trade. And pharma is also very powerful, and the Democrats have protected pharma.
[00:54:20] Unknown:
Now a, the administration put out a fact sheet much like we saw with, with the, the trade agreement with China. Let's see if we could share this. Alright. So the order directs The US Trade Representative and Secretary of Commerce to take action to ensure foreign countries are not engaged in practices that purposely and unfairly undercut market prices and drive price hikes in The United States. The order instructs the administration to communicate price targets to pharmaceutical manufacturers to establish that America, the largest purchaser from funder prescription drugs in the world, gets the best deal. It's kinda sad when you think about that, when you really listen to that. You know, the largest purchaser and funder of prescription drugs in the world.
The Secretary of Health and Human Services will establish a mechanism through which American patients can buy their drugs directly from manufacturers who sell to Americans at most favored nation price bypassing middlemen, and it goes on. According to recent data, Americans pay for brand name drugs the prices Americans pay for brand name drugs are more than three times the price of other OECD nations pay. Even after accounting for discounts manufacturers provide in The US, The United States is less than 5% of the world's population. It funds roughly 75 of global pharmaceutical profits.
Less than 5% of the world's population, but yet we pay we pay 75% of it. So basically, all of those socialized health countries, socialized health care countries that are out there, The American taxpayer funded large portions of it. Think about that. Drug manufacturers discount their products to gain access to foreign markets and then subsidize those discounts through high prices charged in America. In essence, Americans are subsidizing drug manufacturer profits in foreign health systems despite drug manufacturers being benefiting from generous research subsidies and enormous health care, spending by the US government.
In the first term, President Trump took historic action to keep Medicare and seniors from paying more for drug than economically comparable countries, which the Biden administration rescinded before it could even take effect. Instead of fixing the problem, the Biden administration's greatest achievement was to negotiate prices that were on average 78% higher than in 11 comparable countries as pardons as, Biden's as part of Biden's effort to beat Medicare. So the administration is doing everything they can to benefit American peep the American people, and this is this is really important. Because, again, set less than 5% of of the of the world population, yet we're paying 75% in is subsidizing 75% of these pharmaceutical companies.
And, again, the majority of these socialist and social socialized health care countries paying infinitely less than what we pay here in The United States because we pay so much more, because we pay 75%. So we're basically we're funding those socialized health care service, countries. Again, previous administrations putting America last, the American last, this administration, compare and contrast, this administration putting America First and Americans first. How anyone will ever go back to to voting Democrat, I I don't know.
I have no idea.
[00:58:34] Unknown:
Mister president, what do you say to people who view that luxury jet as a personal gift to you? Why not leave it You're ABC fake news, right? Why not? It's only only ABC. Well, a few of you would. Let me tell you, you should be embarrassed to ask him that question. They're giving us a free jet. I could say, no. No. No. Don't give us I wanna pay you a billion or 400,000,000 or whatever it is. Or I could say, thank you very much. You know? There was an old golfer named Sam Snead. Did you ever hear him? He won 82 tournaments. He was a great golfer And he had a motto. When they give you a putt, you say thank you very much. You pick up your ball and you walk to the next hole. A lot of people are stupid. They say no. No. I insist on putting it. Then they putt it and they miss it.
And their partner gets angry at them. You know what? Remember that. Sam Snead, when they give you a putt, you pick it up and you walk to the next hole and you say, thank you very much. Respectfully, sir. I have to ask a bit of this man. Somebody can make a look at this and say, have you ever been given a gift worth millions of dollars and then not receive It's not a gift to me. It's a gift to the Department of Defense, and you should know better because you've been embarrassed enough and so has your network. Your network is a disaster. ABC is a disaster.
[00:59:48] Unknown:
So the reason why I played that, is because I I wanted to show you how, at this particular moment when he's signing the executive order for this, for for the reducing the drug prices, they're asking them about a jet that Qatar or cutter, however you pronounce it, gifted to the Defense Department This is a an incredibly important executive order that's being signed, and that's what the media is asking about. Not asking questions about the executive order, not asking questions about the drug prices, not asking anything to do with the situation whatsoever, but yet focused on a non issue.
Well, I wanna play this clip for you too. This is RFK, talking about, this, these drug prices and the the work of this administration.
[01:00:58] Unknown:
Thank you, mister president. This is, this is an extraordinary day. This is an issue that you know, I grew up in the Democratic party and every major Democratic leader for twenty years been making this promise to the American people. This was the fulcrum of Bernie Sanders' runs for presidency that he was gonna eliminate this discrepancy between Europe and The United States. But as it turns out, none of them were doing it. It's one of these promises that politicians make to their constituents knowing that they'll never have to do it. And the reason they'll never have to do it is because they know that Congress is controlled in so many ways by the pharmaceutical industry.
There's at least one pharmaceutical lobbyist for every congressman, every senator in Capitol Hill, and every member of the Supreme Court. I some estimates, three. Pharmaceutical companies, the industry itself spends three times what what the next largest lobbyist spends on lobbying. So this was a this this was an issue that people talked about, but nobody wanted to do anything because it was radioactive. They knew you couldn't get it by congress. We now have a president who is a man of his word, who has the courage. President Trump was taking money from the pharmaceutical industry too. I think they gave you a hundred million dollars, but he can't be bought unlike most of the politicians in this country.
And he is standing here for the American people. I don't know what you know, there's there's writers like lord Elizabeth Warren or Robert Reich who are just saying that president Trump is on this side of the oligarchs. There has never been a president more willing to stand up to the oligarchs than president Donald Trump. And I'm very, very proud of you, mister president, for your courage, for your I'll say because I don't wanna be crude, your intestinal fortitude, your stiff spine, and your your willingness to stand up for the American people. We have 4.2% of the world's population.
We rep our country represents 75% of the of the revenues for pharmaceutical companies. We spend in our country $1,126 per capita on drugs. In Britain, they spend about 240. They spend one fifth of what we do, and this is true across Europe. And this and the the drug companies, Europeans, if you ask them, it made no sense what they're saying. America has to pay for this innovation or it's not gonna happen. President Trump is saying to our European partners is you gotta raise the amount that you're paying for those drugs and pay for your share of the innovation. Oh, that The United States is no longer subsidizing that.
If the Europeans raise their the price of their drugs by just 20%, that is $10,000,000,000,000 that can be spent on innovation and the health of all people all across the globe is gonna increase because we're gonna have better products. So, I am I'm just so grateful to be here today. I never thought that this would happen in my lifetime. I have a couple of kids who are Democrats, big Bernie Sanders fans. And when I told them that this was gonna happen, they had tears in their eyes because they thought this is never gonna happen in our lifetime, and we finally have a president who's willing to stand up for the American people. Thank you. And doctor
[01:04:48] Unknown:
So great great little speech there by by, RFK Junior. And, you know, it it it he is a % right. It takes leadership, and that's what Donald Trump is has been putting on display since, well, since he announced he was running for for president again. World Net Daily said this, Trump earthquake hits drug pricing worldwide. Americans now get a fair deal. The economic earthquake that is known as president Donald Trump on Monday today hit the pharmaceutical industry worldwide, and the end result will be that Americans will soon be paying the same for drugs as the best deal being offered to any customer worldwide.
No longer will Americans be paying four or five or even 10 times the price for the same drug that others around the world pay. It's coming through executive order and Trump plans for Congress to put it into the law. It essentially will look at the best price paid for a drug by any customers around the world, and it'll make the same drug available at the same price to Americans. Now the president, he he he told a story, and, I don't have the clip for it. It's out there. I just don't have it. He he told a story about, a friend of his.
He cited a friend who pointed out that that his that this treatment that his treatment was costing him $88 while he was in London, but in New York, the same prescription cost him 1,300. And, Donald Trump said that it was it was the, the fat shot. So don't know who he was talking about. He didn't say no names, but that's what he said. It was the fat shot. So, and but, you know, and I and I can I can, I I could say that I understand where he's coming from? There was a medication that my doctor had had put me on, because I was, bordering on diabetes.
And, it was it was, like, $400. And I I I can't I'm not gonna I can't afford that every month. That's ridiculous. So I don't I didn't take it. I didn't buy it, and, I had to go without it. And, I tried all the discounts and all that stuff, and still, you know, the discount got it down to, I think, $3.50. And, I mean, I can't pay $3.50 a month for diabetic medication. You know? So what did I do? I I I modified my diet. I modified, you know, my activities. I tried to control it other ways, you know, and, you know, I didn't it hasn't progressed into diabetes, but I'm still on the borderline there with it. But, you know, the medication would have helped.
But, but then again, you know, see, I'm on the fence with that stuff too because, you know, you want the medication to you don't you don't wanna depend on the medication to control the the illness. You know you know what I mean? You want that to to try to get you to where you don't need any more medication. So you you don't you don't wanna be on this stuff for the rest of your life either. So, you know, I'm so I'm on the fence between, you know, some medications. I mean, I'm I there are some things that you I'm sure that you need, but there are some things I think that you could you could handle on your own. You don't need medication for, like fat shot.
You know, diet exercise, a little bit more of an active life. You can control your weight, but if you need to use the shot to get you to give you kind of like a kick start, that's fine. That's good, but don't depend on that to for you for the rest of your life to keep your weight down. You you follow? So, that that's what I'm trying that's my point. So, Donald Trump said, you know, we've been subsidizing countries around the world, and, drug pricing now will have fairness for Americans. Fairness comes after the Biden administration let left Americans paying some 70% higher prescription costs than they were paying in February. Very true.
So, again, another win for the American people, another another win for this administration, and, you know, I'm I am sincerely hoping that, that Congress will, in fact, codify this into law. All of the stuff that that's being done with these executive orders should be codified into law. This this is this this congress I don't even I don't I don't even know if I wanna start going down that road because this congress has has sent less bills to this to the president's desk than they have in the last seventy years. So this is this, you know, not too not too impressed with Mike Johnson and his leadership in Congress, but that's another that's another topic for another show another day. We'll we'll get there.
Alright. So, let's, let's just cover some of these other little stories here, really quickly. I just got three more or two well, two more really, and then we'll wrap this up. But, this is another victory for this administration. On Monday, today, Hamas released the last living US Hostage, Twenty One year old Eden Alexander from Gaza after holding him, since the terrorist organization attack on Israel in February. Donald Trump posted this on Truth Social today. I'm happy to announce that Eden Alexander, an American citizen who has been held hostage since October 2023, is coming home to his family. I'm grateful to all those involved in making this monumental news happen. This was a step taken in good faith toward The United States and the efforts of the mediators, Qatar and Egypt, to put an end to this very brutal war and return all living hostages and remains to their loved ones. Hopefully, this is the first of those final steps necessary to end this brutal conflict. I look very much forward to that day of celebration.
So, you know, this this president, from the very beginning of his campaign, has talked about ending these conflicts, and that's exactly what he's doing. He he he's desperately trying to end the conflict between the Ukraine and Russia. He is effectively he has effectively ended the conflict between Pakistan and India. He's been trying to work with Israel and Hamas in Gaza. It just doesn't seem like the Israelis wanna well, at least Benjamin Netanyahu wants to really, you know, draw this down to a conclusion. Seems to to me, anyway, it just seems like he's just wants to keep pushing and pushing and pushing. And they they just they they just bombed Yemen again.
But, Alexander, an American I'm off on a tangent. Alexander, an American Israeli soldier, was released to Red Cross representatives in Gaza's southern city of Khan Yunus. He'll be transferred to Israeli special forces in inside the Gaza Strip. His family told the news outlet that president Trump said he wishes to meet with Alexander when he visits Qatar this week depending on whether Alexander would like to, and his medical condition. An Israeli official told Fox News on Monday on Monday that Alexander would undergo preliminary medical and psychological evaluations by IDF Medical Corps personnel after he is received by specialized Israel Defense Forces unit.
Hamas confirmed the release earlier Monday. Israel paused military operations on Monday ahead of Alexander's release. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on Monday that they had committed, to a safe corridor for Alexander's release for Alexander's release. We are in the critical days during which Hamas has a proposal before that would allow for the release of our hostages. Negotiations will continue under fire and alongside preparations to intensify the fighting. So great news again for the administration in securing the release of this hostage, the last surviving American hostage being held by Hamas in Gaza after the, the, the terror attack on April I'm sorry, in October, two years ago. Two years ago already. It's been a long time.
That's a long time. Alright. And, last but not least here, let's see. So we all know that Donald Trump has a sense of humor, and he has a very sharp and quick sense of humor. But, so he has a new nickname for Martha Raditz. And, we'll get to that in a second. But, Donald Trump wasn't a big fan of ABC's Martha Raddatz commentary on Pope Leo the fourteenth being a counterbalance to his administration. And, he fired off a fierce social media message, which included a brutal nickname for her show. Raditz and co anchor on this week with George Stephanopoulos spoke with Archbishop of Chicago Cardinal Blaise Kupich on Sunday about the newly minted pope and bizarrely injected politics into the conversation. Let's, let's let's take a look at that.

and complement our, political agenda. He'll he'll talk a lot about the immigrants as well because he knows about the sufferings of people and the the real, needs that they have for a better life. And he he knows too that people in Oceania, for instance, where the the rising sea levels are just, getting, over overwhelming the those islands where people are trying to escape. He sees the drug trade that's happening in Central And South America where there are weapons from the other cities going there. He he knows that those people need an option, and he'll call for, I think, as the bishops have in The United States, fixing this broken income immigration system. In So
[01:16:36] Unknown:
I shake my head at at the climate nonsense. Well, Donald Trump didn't miss a beat on this one, and he posted this up on truth social. So funny to watch old timer Martha Raddatz on ABC fake news, the Slopadopoulos show, this morning blurred out that effectively Pope Leo selection had nothing to do with Donald had nothing to do with Donald Trump. It came out of nowhere, but it was on her Trump deranged mind. Remember, I did win the Catholic vote by a lot. Bob Iger should do something about the losers and haters he's got on his low rated shows. It's time for a change, MAGA.
I mean, he he's his I his his sense of humor is just it's it's sharp, quick, and, man, he just hits it on the head. Red State says Raditz is an all time bastion of Trump derangement system syndrome, whether it's her fretting over the cost of the cost involved in deporting illegal immigrants before the president even set foot in office or practically breaking down in tears on the air when he humiliated Hillary Clinton in his first election. She is a continuing embarrassment to the field of journalism. Catholic voters shifted heavily. And this is this is actually true. I mean, Donald Trump did win the Catholic vote by a lot. I mean, he really did. Catholic voters shifted heavily in favor of Trump during the February, helping deliver him a victory help helping him deliver victory upon victory in swing states over Kamala Harris.
So, and don't forget also that, George Stephanopoulos, and ABC News were forced to, to pay, to pay out a lawsuit in damages and apologize to to, president Trump, and I think they had to pay out, like, $1,520,000,000 dollars or something like that. So, so yeah. Good old old timer, Martha Raditz, George Slopadopoulos. Oh, that's great. That is great. Okay. Well, I think I think we pretty much covered everything. So, folks, just wanna say, shout outs to our executive producers, Wayne and Rosanna Rankin. Thank you so much for what we do. Also, to our producer, anonymous, Angela, thank you so much. We really do appreciate you, folks. Don't forget to, tune in on Wednesday evening, 7PM. We have Charlie Johnson, and, we look forward to seeing you there. Don't forget, let's make Texas independent again. Go podcasting.
Let's keep a steady stride, and, have a great night. We'll see you Wednesday. Good night. Goodbye.
