Alright. So, Evan, why don't you, just kinda walk us through your background, give us an idea of of how you, became the go to attorney, for some of the most important and complex cases in in the history of The United States.

Well, where where where does one start? Right? Let me get it. First of all, I I'm I'm blessed to have, live in, there's two states I would like to live in, Texas being one of them, your hometown. But here in South Florida, Palm Beach, Boca Raton Nice. This is the Winter White House as they call it. So first thing is first, I was, located in the right area. Second is I, happen to be in the right location with the right people. And, one of the big assets that I've had was my friendship with the right people, one of which is a gentleman by the name of Peter Ticton. Peter Ticton, we worked together for years, and he happened to go to military school with Donald Trump. And Donald Trump calls him his oldest friend.
Mhmm. I say that's because you are literally his oldest friend. But, all kidding aside, his daughter ran into this woman who was very unknown at the time. Her name is Alina, Alina Habba. And I happen to know, at the time, Rand Paul senior adviser, who who then became one of Trump senior advisers. And, all things work together, and we started out as local counsel for for the president of The United States. Never have expected that. And that's not the end. That's just the beginning. And during, the aftermath in January 6, the president asked, mister Peter Ticton to work with him on gathering all the evidence, and he worked with Giuliani to make sure that all the evidence in January 6 were identifiable and that all the resources, all the phone calls, all the data was centralized.
We now have, a lot of information that would blow your mind, on what the truth behind January 6 is versus, what the fake news will share.

Well, then and I'm glad you brought up January 6 because, you know, that's what that's something that I'm I'm very interested in, and I've been I've been following it, obviously, since since it happened. I don't, I don't necessarily buy the, the narrative that the mainstream media puts out on it. But, k. You don't think it was an insurrection? Oh, no. I believe I believe it was, but I don't think it was the I I don't think it was the crowd that performed the insurrection. I think it was Exactly. Deep inside the government that did it. But, what do you think one of the biggest misconceptions, though, that the that the public has about the, January 6 legal proceedings as they were?

Okay. The legal proceedings that the people who were marching along or peacefully protesting through the Capitol Building, which for the most part was opened, alongside police officers and all types of people with no weapons. They got charged with crimes that you would think that, they had weapons and that they were gathered ahead of time with a a planned overthrow of the government, and they were treated like that. Mhmm. A lot of people were just what they thought were exercising their first amendment right, freedom of speech, didn't realize at the time that they were trespassing.
If we forget what was going on at that time, you had it was around COVID where everybody was, you know, locked inside for for months or or years depending on what state you resided in Mhmm. Except if you are part of certain types of, select groups, you know, Black Lives Matter being one of them Mhmm. Then you are allowed to peacefully protest, which included starting fires because that's just what you do during a peaceful protest. Right? Exactly. Yeah. Sure. I mean, because people get cold. You need to warm your body. That's right. Yeah. So the misconception is that these people who, given the opportunity, if you were in Washington DC walking near the Capitol Building, and you see people walking through the Capitol Building alongside police, and, really, nobody's trying to stop you walking through.
You could understand a little bit of the mentality. But the news, the fake news media saw it as an opportunity to really exploit the opportunity to get Trump to never run for office again, to criminalize it, politicize it, and, here we are today. Fortunately, we have somebody who was brave enough to withstand something that most people couldn't withstand, including his family at one point. Didn't think he had a chance after that election after the, twenty twenty election and said, dad, it's enough time. You know? You should step down, and not think about running again, and now he's our president.

Which is amazing. The when you think how the the how he has overcome the the radical left, mainstream media, all of the, the the the silencing of social media. The man had to go out and start his own social media company just to get out just to get his message out there. And he he went through the, the whole, Russia gate thing. While he was in office, he went through all of the bullshit, excuse my language, trials up in New York with, Leticia James. And and, by the way, New York is my hometown. I'm I'm a transplant to Texas. Thank god for that. Yes.

Yeah. Me too. I'm from Jersey. So Yeah. I went south. You went south. That's the migration A little bit more to this. Yeah. Exactly. That's the way it works.

Like, I used to joke, say, you know, you start in Brooklyn, then you move to Staten Island. From Staten Island, you go to Jersey. From Jersey, you go to Florida. So Yeah. You know, but, I buy You noticed New Jersey is never the final destination. No. No. Everybody wants to vacate. Everybody wants to vacate. Yes. But, but, yeah, but but, Donald Trump, he went through all of those cases up in New York, the trials up in New York, the the the the convictions, the mugshots in Georgia, and and all of that stuff that they thought was gonna be detrimental to his political career is to silence him and shut him up. All backfired.
He is the most popular president by far in my lifetime, and probably in modern history, he's probably the most popular president. I saw a poll, I think it was earlier today or late yesterday, that, Real Clear Politics put out that, that he is at 48% approval at the same time in his second term as Barack Obama was at 47%, and George Bush was the second George Bush at 46%. So he's he's outperforming the darling of the Democrat party. Well, I don't I don't know if I can say that anymore. I don't think they're too too keen on Obama so much right now. But, but, you know, he beats out their darling, and he beats out, into the neocon.
So Yeah. You know, it's it's just it's just a testament to his his stamina, and especially at his age. You know? What is he, 73?

He's done he's done more in his in his first six months of this of his second term than Joe Biden has done in, what, fifty years in public service.

Yeah. I mean yeah. Absolutely. I mean, I I I just think, he did more in the first hundred days than, the the the man who preceded him, or the man before him did his whole career. Right? Yeah. I I agree.

I agree. But, just wanna get back to the j six stuff for for a few more minutes. So, now, of course, you know, the the way the whole committee was set up, you know, unethical, I think. I don't know if that's the right term for it. But, Criminal? Criminal. That's Borderline? Yeah. That's that's a good one too. But it does set a precedent though for few for for for, future political witch hunts, don't you think?

Absolutely. But, Or at least in protest related prosecution. The president was started, the second Trump walked down the the escalator. Mhmm. And it adds to it. And then you stack the committee with two Republicans that are, the definition of rhinos Mhmm. And and And rabbit one who has ties to Halliburton and a very evil father as a vice president. And what do you expect? You had somebody who is not a big, ally of president Trump, Rand Paul, which would have been a perfect person to be there, but I think that they they said he was too, centralist. Or I'm sorry.
He wasn't objective. I I forget what they they used. So they stacked the deck, and, you know, no matter what happened, no matter what the evidence showed, they were gonna get an outcome because they were looking for it.

What do you think about, speaker Johnson, talking about, setting up a subcommittee to investigate j six the j six committee?

It needs to happen. The challenge that we have is when we expose the truth. It it it leads up this is the the the problem that I I we we we always see is that you feel like it's something's gonna happen. We're gonna finally get something. Right? Mhmm. And then silence. Like, the first time president Trump was in office, we thought we're gonna figure out who, what was in Roswell and JFK, who assassinated JFK, and now this time around, Jeffrey Epstein, and then we found out that it was suicide. So

I don't. I don't know. I don't know. I I just don't get it at all other than, I could go conspiracy theory, and I shouldn't. Well, we'll we'll probably never find out. But, I love the idea of it. I love the exposure of it. I would love, love, love to to to see the truth behind it. But the powers of these, somehow, it just always leaves for excitement and goes nowhere. Well, yeah. But Sorry. You're right, though. In the sense that I would love it for it to happen to really the truth

get disclosed, but we will see. Yeah. And, you know, and it and I'll be honest with you. I I am a little disappointed with some of the how slow things have been moving as and certain things. Like like, I I love the fast pace as far as the economy goes, and, you know, the way he's been moving around, you know, just keeps the media off balance, keeps the Democrats off balance. You know? They don't know which way he's gonna go next, which I think is great. It's a great strategy. I hope he can keep it up. But, what I what I'm really starting to get disappointed with is, Pam Bondi.
Mhmm. I think she's spending more time on Fox friends and Fox News than she is, in her office actually doing some work for the people that she promised would be done, and that president Trump said would be done. Like, of course, you know, we mentioned the Epstein files. Personally speaking, I don't think that there is much left. I think a lot of that was destroyed the moment that, that Donald Trump was, officially, named as a nominee for the Republican party for for for this, for this four year term. I think that as soon as that took place and they realized that the the possibility of him coming back to the offices was true, they they dumped everything they possibly could. And what they couldn't dump, I'm sure they scrubbed it.
Made, you know, changing documents and and whatnot. I wouldn't be surprised at that. Now I I did I did some law enforcement work back in New York, you know. I worked for the city for twenty three years. I was an investigator for a number of years. So I understand that, you know, investigations take time, and then sometimes you can't talk about things. You can't, you know, reveal too much information, you know, to the public on cases that you're working on. I understand that. But, you know, don't go out there and promise people, oh, there's truckloads of information and and produce a binder with nothing in it other than information that was already released and all redacted.

Exactly. So the way I'm looking at what's to come is we know in his first term, you know, certain things for whatever reason, I like I said, I could come up with five, six, seven good conspiracies as to why this happened or this did not happen. But at the end of the day, what I'm more most concerned pragmatically is are we moving forward in a way where after this term, we get somebody in office that makes this country and makes us proud, Americans

And most important, Americans, or do we do this ping pong effect? And so we get somebody that is completely so far, it's the other side, someone like an AOC that you won't have four years to understand this country. And on top of that, what type of political prisoners will we have? January 6 may just be, the beginning of something that we now know, you know Yeah. Can happen and what will happen. So what I'm really more concerned about, although I would love love to know the truth behind JFK, Roswell, you know, Epstein files, and all that. Most important, though, is where is this country gonna be when Trump leaves office? Is is this gonna be a JD Vance presidency next, or is this gonna be something so extreme that,

you know, everything that we stood for, everything our forefathers fought for is forgotten. Yeah. It just goes to not. So Yeah. I'm I'm concerned about that too. I I honestly I think, you know, we're gonna get the four years of of Donald Trump, and then I think we're gonna get I think we're gonna get Vance. Mhmm. I'd like to see and and I I know some people kinda scratch their heads when I say this, but I'd like to see a Vance Rubio ticket.

Yeah. No. It's it's great because Rubio is more of an establishment, whereas Vance is more of

a MAGA republic. Yeah. And But Rubio is also kind of he's come a long way. You know? Yes. He's he's he's changed a lot since his debate performance with with Trump the first the first go around. And Yes. He's he's really grown into the role that he's in, and I'm really impressed, to be honest with you. And I I don't know if it's all an act. I don't know if he's just, you know, playing the part just to, you know, just to just to, you know, keep keep himself in the position and keep himself in the public eye. But, you know, if this is a legitimate, like, born again, you know, experience for him, I I'm really impressed. He's he's definitely the most improved player.

Yes. Yes. And what what's good about him is his his pedigree. He he's somebody that, he's Cuban. He's an immigrant. I think his parents were Cuban refugees, and he's bilingual. I love when he speaks both in English and Spanish. And Yeah. He's he's a a true Floridian. And, there's nothing bad to say about him. All I could think of is, you know, every time I've met the president, realizing the president's hands aren't little, and that's the only thing I I will never understand. Yeah. I know. I I I I mean, it's something that we could all see. Why would you say your hands are little? I know.

And I I love the nicknames that he comes up with for people. I think they're I think they're hysterical. He just nails it, man. He's he's he's good at what he does. He's he's good at branding. He's, you know, that's his thing. That that's definitely his thing. One thing I am concerned about too is, like I mentioned, the slow pace of things and how they're going. Now from what I understand, and correct me if I'm wrong on this one, but I I believe that, you know, the Republicans hold the house, the senate, and the house of representatives, and yet they've sent fewer bills to the president's desk than any previous, congress in seventy years.
Yeah. And that's that's disturbing. You know?

I know. And and it concerns me because we only have two years. We don't have four years Right. For, a stacked deck. Thank you. And what's happening other than executive orders? And, you know, I love the executive orders the president signed, but as a fundamental constitutionalist, I don't like executive orders. I think they're, for lack of better words, they're bullshit. And they're not long lasting, and it's a breach of the fundamental, power. So, balance of power. So why don't we have a congress that gets their act together? Right? Mhmm. Works together and gets these executive offices passed through through the legislative branch, not the executive branch.
And this way, the courts can't contest it because they'll have no standing, and they take the judicial branch out of the equation. Yeah. What is congress doing except the the lower house, passed a big, great bill. But by the time it comes into law, it's gonna be completely

gutted out. Oh, for sure. There there is there I and I'll be honest with you. I I've been trying to keep up with it, and there's just so much back and forth on this thing. And I I understand that that this isn't a spending bill. This isn't a budget. You know? This is, like, what do they call it?

Reconciliation bill? Yes. The reconciliation.

So, so, yeah, there's not gonna be the cuts. There's not gonna be the budget lines for, like, to to codify Doge, the Doge cuts. Mhmm. That doesn't happen till September. You know? This is basically there to get us through until September, until the actual budget can come into play. So I I see there's all that back and forth going on between, like like like, Elon Musk, you know, saying, you know, how disgusted he is with this thing. Rand Paul, you know, expressing his disgust over the whole thing. And then you have, Miller coming out Steven Miller coming out, in defense of the bill. So I'm just into having things that you could apply common sense and rules that apply to everything in every scenario, and don't make an argument so complex because you want an outcome under one that you can't apply to others. It's the same thing. To me, it makes more sense polygamy, than other arguments, but we know we're not allowed the countries to have its rules about polygamy. I'm not a polygamist. It's not, you know, what I would agree with, but everyone seems to agree that polygamy is not an issue. Mhmm. But yet gender issues are. It makes no sense. And if you just fundamentally look at things from a common sense perspective, base it off of what our founding fathers have thought to create a constitution as a a foundation for where this country needs to go so that we don't repeat the mistakes of our past, I think we'll be fine. But right now, I think we're at war with just common sense, and it just makes no sense. He has to make a decision, and he cannot I I agree with I I I don't like to agree with him, but, you know, I agree that he has to have some kind of a response to it. And then the question is Mhmm. What is that response gonna be?
Yeah. You know? And one of the models that that had have come up was, a limited nuclear strike, which, god, I don't wanna see that. Because then what because then what's gonna happen? It's gonna just totally escalate, then you're gonna have India and Pakistan shooting at each other. Two two nuclear powers. I mean, they came how close to it just a couple of months ago. I started with a little Internet radio show. We used to call them Internet radio back then. In 2016 with a couple of friends, you know, up in New York, and we had a, you know, similar type show as this. But, you know, there was three of us, so, you know, the the play back and forth was great. Right. And we had a good balance. I was the conservative voice. My my friend Jay was the liberal voice, and then we had another Joe who was the, the libertarian voice. So, you know, we had a really good little dialogue. It was a lot of fun. Yeah. And then, and then I came here to Texas, so we we stopped doing the show.
And then I started doing another podcast about three years ago, which it was mostly it wasn't politics at all. It was mostly, like, bible study stuff. And, the, but I I was constantly you know, Bongino is a big my long story of the story is Bongino is the is kinda like my like, kinda motivated me to well, you know what? Let's let's let's start something like that. Let's try something like that, you know, and get back into the politics and and all that. And so, you know, I have a lot of respect for him and his career. You know, we both served in law enforcement in in New York. I mean, I didn't work with him or anything like that. We were two different agencies, you know, separate in different time period. But, I have a lot of respect for him and his background and a lot of things on the show. He's always talking about, you know, there's more to the story than than what meets the eye. You know, he's one of the he was one of those guys that, you know, was like Mhmm. I don't have to be first. I just have to be right. And Mhmm.
You know, and I respected that, and I still do. And I and I think that's a great way to to do things. So I do have a lot of respect for him. I don't know Kash Patel very well. I just know what I know from what I've seen, you know, more recently than prior to. You know, so, you know, I just feel like I just I just I I wish that that that they didn't have the, the muzzle on, if you know what I mean. And, all the things that he was talking about on the show, he was actually able to produce fast. But then again, like I said earlier, I did work in investigations and law enforcement. I understand you can't always talk about everything, you know. And the same thing with Pam Bondi too. I mean, I don't have anything personally about her, you know. I'm just pointing out the things that I've seen as far as, you know, it seems like she's on the new circuits more than anything else.

Yeah. And I think, her position is she she she's the the ringleader of that job, and she's counting on her staff to do things. But you want the message to be heard, and you also wanna understand what's going on and what why we're doing what we're doing. So I I get it. I don't think it's something that, she enjoys being in front of a camera more than she enjoys being in the office. I I I I don't get that vibe from her. That's That's what she's bad about. It's just a matter of maybe what the president wants her to do. Like, we need we need people like, if we have the fake news out there, we need, the leaders of the, you know, executive branch in in in particular to to get as much press time as possible so that we can control the narrative.

I'm not saying that's true. I'm just saying that there's more sure that meets the eye. Yeah. It's logical, and that that's good too. And that and that that's something I didn't consider before. I mean, and I was very frustrated when she's like, tomorrow, Pam Bondi, tomorrow, you're gonna see all of this stuff.

You have to understand monetary policy, and you have to also realize that you have Florida. Let's just choose Texas because it's the same system. No tax. Right? Mhmm. You go to New York or let's choose California.
You know? We can bash California. Neither one of us is from there. Okay? Correct. Yep. You have California. You have taxes upon taxes upon taxes, and yet you have more homeless people in California than any place on this in this country. You have cities like San Francisco that nobody can go to Mhmm. Because it's been taken over by, not only homeless, but just a philosophy that's anti American, anti capitalism. How do you justify feces in front of storefronts, with homeless people there and calling the cops and the cops don't do jack shit. But yet you're paying more tax to live in that country, in that state. Mhmm. If you're at your highest level living in California, you're making a million dollars a year, over $500,000 is going to the government or the state, more than 50%. And what are you getting in return?
You're getting spit upon. You're not even a thank you card. The IRS or the, California's, taxes, I don't know what it's called there, doesn't send you a letter to say thank you for that $500,000 check you just sent us, and this is how the money is gonna be used. Right? Take Texas or Florida. You know, I grew up in New Jersey, visited New York a lot. It's my where my family's from. It's cleaner here. It's safer here. Mhmm. It's freer, definitely freer. I mean, you wanna see freedom. During COVID, you understood what it meant to live under, in in the state of Florida versus what was happening throughout the rest of the country.
And, DeSantis got it right, and freedom prevailed in in in Florida. And yet in New York, you have children or California. You pay all this money in taxes, and you can't even bring your kids to school for, what, two years in California in some jurisdictions. Yeah. And, you know, you you you take away everyone's freedom for no one's benefit except large governments, large institutions, and, you take away capitalism there. You take away the bigger businesses there. All the businesses that really wanna be there and stay there have left. And, you know, fortunately or unfortunately in Texas, they moved. And hopefully, they don't vote like they did in California.

I think people here in Texas are are very well aware of Yeah. I mean, where are you from? You're not from Austin because I don't think they're aware in that city. No. I I'm actually right now, I live in Eagle Pass, so I'm on the border. Okay. I'm right there on the border. I'm I'm actually about less than two miles away from, Shelby Park where that standoff took place Okay. Between the feds and the and the local, and state police and whatnot. So, yeah. So it's been very interesting.
I like it here. I do. It's a, you know, it's a small town. It's only about 30,000 people. Mhmm. I do miss some things about New York. I miss, I I miss the variety of Mhmm. Nighttime options. You know, here Right. Everything closes by 09:00. You know? So so if you work late and you wanna get something to eat, there's no diner you can go to, like, you know, corner diner or something like that and Yeah. And whatnot. And and probably one of the more depressing things when I first moved here, I like to cook. Cooking is like my my my release. So, I was gonna make this really nice Italian dish. It was a fettuccine with sweet peas, prosciut, and a white wine sauce. Alright? Right.
So I went to the local soup. There's only two places really here that, you know, like big supermarkets. You had HEB and you have, Walmart. So, I went there, and I was like, alright. So I go I'm looking around. I'm like, alright. Well, I go to the deli counter. I say, I need a I need a quarter pound of prosciut, then sliced. And they were like, what's that?

Exactly. I remember, I was in before I moved down to Florida, I was in South Carolina near Myrtle Beach out of Piggly Wiggly. Mhmm. And I I I'm gonna I'm I'm not good at accents, but the accent was wonderful. It was just the lady at the deli said, she goes, she goes, city boy, you gotta talk slower down here.

Because I said, like, you know, growing up in Jersey, same thing in New York. She'll say, like, I'll take a quarter pound of turkey, half a pound of roast beef, and a pound of American. Yep. And, we There's fortunately, where I'm from, I I'm in Boca Raton, and, it's, they call it the, part of the tristate area of, New York, New Jersey, and and Boca Raton. So you could go to the Publix here, or you could go to the bagel store, and you have bagels stores that are from New York. I mean, they taste, you always say New York bagels taste better, but you forget what they taste. You go to New York, they're like to me, they're the same. I'm I'm I'm blessed and cursed. I don't have a skilled taste bud. But bagels, they have Taylor ham or which is a Jersey thing. It's not even a New York thing, but it's just I don't know. Do you know what Taylor ham or pork roll is? Oh, yeah. Yeah. For sure. Okay. So growing up in New Jersey, especially if you had a a couple of drinks the night before the next day, you want some grease in your system. You get a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a bagel. Mhmm. And, you forget. You go out on the West Coast Of Florida or other parts. You don't have that. No. And what drives me nuts is that bagels, they have I get in everything, so they're seated on both sides because that's what it's like growing up in the Northeast. Yeah. Here in Boca, it's the same thing. You'd be shocked to see see it's only on one side, but you go out West in the same state.
Like, how do they get away with this? Like, because I like to eat my bagels one on one, not as a sandwich. And just all the things you get in New Jersey. You have pizza. You have brick oven pizza, coal fired pizza. If you wanna go to Miami, you're forty five minutes. That's our New York. It stays awake, stays open. There's a train walking distance from my place called the Bright Line. You can go forty five minutes tops, maybe thirty five minutes. Go right to Miami or in the heart of Miami. Go the other way, fifteen minutes here in Downtown West Palm Beach. You could go to Mar A Lago, be there in twenty minutes. I mean, it's really convenient here. You get the best of everything, plus you get the weather.
So there's really no reason to to to want or miss that area except, you'll never go take a subway to a Yankee game. Mhmm. It's it's not going to a Marlins game is never the same. Of course. I mean, you know, I I always joke. Like, if I didn't wanna wear clothes to a Marlins game, nobody would notice because nobody's there. Right. But the Yankees do play there every couple of years. They they come down. So you get to see the Yankees. If you're a Mets fan, they're always there. Yep. But it's not the same. But those are the things or Broadway in New York or Times Square or, you know, seeing your friends, having a barbecue. It's it's different down there. Barbecues,

So, so I I was able to check it out and really good stuff, really good food. And, again, not home, but, you know, that's what it is. And, my wife at the time, she was like she goes, what is that?

I didn't know during the revolutionary work because before I was a history buff when I was five, six, seven, eight years old. All you see all all over that area, George Washington slept here. I'm like, what did this guy do? He just slept everywhere. Like Kinda gets around. Right? He just went to people's houses instead of sleeping here.
I know. But but you have that history. I mean, you really have little his I mean, you have history here. You have Henry Flagler history who founded this area. You have Addison Mizner, but it's all nineteen twenties and for the most part and thereafter. Gotcha. So New York, I mean, or New Jersey, you'd see things that were there during the foundation of America. And then you you really put things in perspective. I mean, that's American history. It was just in Europe, and you see if something there that's been there for it was in Prague, and you're like, oh, that was built 500 or 800 years ago. And Yeah. It's it's it's amazing.

My my my dad very disappointed in me, you know, because my dad was a big time Yankees fan. And, I always tell this story. I gotta tell you this story. My so my so one Father's Day, I wanted to get something really special for my dad. So I went to the MLB shop, and I bought an authentic field jersey, fitted hat, and all that stuff, packaged it all up. And I bring it over to the house, and, I'm sitting there, like, all giddy, like a little like a little school kid.
Dad's opening up the package, and he when he gets to the jersey, he opens up, and he holds it up, and it's says Boston on it with his name on the back with a big number one stitched in, you know, field jersey with a fitted Boston Red Sox hat. And he just looked at me. He was like, Joseph. He goes, this is great. Thank you. Thank you. Gives me a big hug and a big kiss, puts it all back in the box, takes it into the kitchen, he walks out of the room with it. And I sat there. I looked at my mom. I was like, well, that that didn't go quite the way I thought it was gonna go. So she goes, yeah. She goes, no. That didn't. And I was like, well, I did. Is he alright? Does he feel okay? She's just I was like, oh, no. He's fine. He's good.
And I'm sitting there talking to my mom for about a good ten minutes or so, and then and then I'm like, well, where is he? Where did he go? Because, you know, the house isn't that big, you know, where one room away. What happened to him? So I get up and I go to look, and and he's not in the house. He's out in the backyard. He's sitting at he has a little table out there. He has, you know, all his big his garden. He loves his garden. Loved his garden. And, he's sitting out there, and he's reading a book. So, alright. I go out. Hey, dad. What's going on?
Got a fire going? He goes, yep. I looked down in the fire. What's in the fire? The Red Sox jersey, the Red Sox hat, all that stuff. I was like, dad, what are you doing? Because you have much how much that cost? And And he goes, well, who's more the fool then?

And my sister and I, we you know, after after my parents passed and we were cleaning out the house, we we looked through every photo album there was, and I could not find it. So I don't know. I I hope somebody in the family has it, but, you know, it would be nice for me to have.

Yeah. I have a a that's a similar story, but it's somewhat similar. It was 1984. I was seven years old. We flew into, Los Angeles. I'm with my mom. And in the airport, this is when the 1984, Olympics were taking place in Los Angeles. So in the airport, I see all of the, the basketball players. They just won the gold medal. They're wearing their, warm up uniform. So the jackets with the pants that you could rip easily Yeah. To to and they're all in the airport, and they're all wearing their gold medals. So I wasn't shy when I was seven years old, and I ran up to them.
And one of them picked me up, put the gold medal, and turned to my mom for her to take a picture. But my kids will never understand this story. They're like, why didn't your mom take a picture? I said, because people didn't walk around with cameras Right. Yeah. Back in 1984. I was like a victim of my circumstances. Right now, I would have had a thousand pictures. We don't have we didn't have cell phones. No. No. It's like I always tell my kids this. I was like, you're so spoiled. I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 21 years old.

I I remember like it was the incident. Yeah. Of course. Like, I remember my dad my dad used to, my dad worked for the post office for, like, thirty plus years, but he also, on the side, he drove a yellow cab in Manhattan. Mhmm. And, Instead of my grandfather. Yeah. Yeah. And what so one time, he picked up, a bullpen coach for the Yankees, and it was this was 1977, I think. '78 maybe. And, it was a long drive, and, you know, they they got along really well. And he invited my dad to a game and left tickets for him at the at the box, and, you know, most of my dad takes me, and we got there. He and my and the guy said to my father to let him know when we when we're there, get him a message that we're there, and, he'd get us into the clubhouse to meet the team. And so I have pictures with, like, Craig Nettles, Bucky Dent, Phil Rizzuto, you know, Bill White, all those guys, Billy Martin. You know? I have pictures and autographs of all of that stuff.
And the one thing that stood out out of all of it is I was wearing a Mets hat. So, you know, but, but I'll never forget that. That was that was an incredible experience, you know. And it it's it's those are the things that you hold on to. You don't need a camera for those things, you know. No. I mean, that camera, that's vivid memory in my head. Yeah. It's still the camera would have been nice, though. I could've shown my children. My son

knows every single thing, every little statistic about basketball. Nice. It's incredible. You know? And he was he could stomp anyone on on my little, like, tidbits of information. Right. So he's kinda always drills me. Like, who was it? Was it this person? Was it that person? And how old is this? More of the nineteen eighty four US Olympic team than I do. Who am I? And he was born in 02/2013.

Oh, okay. Okay. I I was gonna He's the last one. I was gonna say how old he was. Well, that's wild, man. And and and those are memories you just cherish those things, you know. And and you hope, you know, to kinda tie it all back into the politics conversation, you know, you you hope that that the generation that's coming up is gonna remember those moments that they had with with you, with me, you know, and and, you know, we should be doing the very best that we can in our generation to teach our children what this country was really all about.
And Yeah. And try to and try to instill in them

those values. And and I think if you're blessed enough that you could afford to travel, and have the ability to take your children with you, As you get older, you look at things different where money can be spent on many material things, but you can't ever get the memories like you have when you travel. That's true. And going and and and taking my children I mean, we've been in various countries. And in the last year, year and a half, we've been to, like, five countries. And, we're going we're going away on Friday to, The Middle East for the first time. And, so it'll be interesting. It'll be interesting.
But, you don't understand. Like, we were just in Germany, in Berlin about six, seven weeks ago. You don't understand and this is really it goes back to the point of, you know, your show. You don't understand really what life is like until you actually been there, and you don't understand what it was like during that time until you were actually there. And the one thing that I I didn't know I mean, I knew a lot about World War two, and I knew a lot about, how they won the blitzkrieg and that the Germans were on crazy amounts of amphetamines, and they just didn't sleep, didn't stop. Even if they were shot, they wouldn't stop. Going. Yeah.
They kept going. But what was incredibly interesting to me is they split the tour guides and then, obviously, we went to the English tour guide, and he's from England. And he was telling us that there's so much political correctness in England that you don't even get an authentic history anymore of World War two. And he had to go to a special, like, international university just so that he can get a unique perspective of Yeah. The history of World War two. And one of the things he said was that we overestimate how good the Germans were in just about every part of the war except the two things was the blitzkrieg because of the euphemism and two is propaganda.
Mhmm. The propaganda we saw, the Ministry of Propaganda was right there. I mean so we got to see the actual building where all the propaganda started. Right. And they they came up with I think it was I I I I I don't know. I don't recall who it was. Sometimes it's Hitler is quoted for saying it. It's Erwin Rommel. I don't remember who exactly, but, the bigger the lie and the more you repeat it, they shall, the more they will accept it. Yeah. Something to that. And you don't realize what's happening in this country until you travel there, and you see the actual history. Mhmm. And it's kind of like being in a room where it's completely bright out, and then somebody just comes to mess with you and just starts dimming it 5%.
All of a sudden, you're in a pitch dark room, and you don't know how you got there. Right? Yep. And that's how world war two started. I mean, it was just you know, it was people that were fed up with the establishment, the decisions that were made ahead of their time that got into incredible poverty and felt like they needed a scapegoat, and that scapegoat happened to be not only Jews, but Bolsheviks, gypsies, and anyone that was not them. Right now, everyone just blames in this country, everyone just blames everyone except themselves. They don't look inside. You know? Yeah. I agree. And you have a generation of victims right now, and it's the same thing. I'm not equating it to Nazi Germany, as a direct parallel, but there are some commonalities is blaming others for your problems rather than looking deep within yourself. Right?
And without traveling, without doing these things, I don't think you get a you know, without going to Germany, you don't have a good understanding of America, because America could go down that path if we allow it to. Very easily. And, you know, hatred's hatred on both sides, the left and the right. I think the left does a better job of making the right look bad in using things like, they have Antifa, and we have the Proud Boys. But the Proud Boys aren't you know, you stick their eyes in its villainized, whereas the Antifa is, you know, made to seem like they're, saints. Yeah. Free yeah. The freedom fighters. Right. Yeah. Yeah. The freedom fighters. And you have the Proud Boys, and you have, you know, a bunch of groups like that. And not that I necessarily support the ideology or even the understanding of it, but there is a lot of unknown, truth to what, you know, fundamental core principles of America that is in their, thought process.
And yet nobody really understands what your thought process is because they are equated to Nazis, and they aren't Nazis. I mean, I don't think, you know, a group that has multicultural followers, black, white, Latino as a leader, can be considered akin to a Nazi, but it's just understanding that history and seeing what's happening in this country. And most important, the ministry of propaganda, where is that coming from? And it's the fake news here. That's right. Yeah. So Absolutely. You know? When you have, you know, it doesn't matter what your political side is. It just what matters is in your political side is you wanna believe what you wanna believe so you come to conclusions based on those beliefs.
But when, Hunter Biden laptop came out right before an election and everyone knew it was Hunter Biden's laptop, how dare the news, how dare them, you know, say you can't release this truthful information because the ministry of propaganda or, whatever you wanna call it, you know, deemed it fake news. Mhmm. And what scares me the most under the Biden administration and the prior administration was that they had a ministry of truth. It was the same thing as the propaganda during, ministry of propaganda during Nazi Germany, that they determined what was valid news and what was invalid news. And I was on a podcast not too long ago about AI of all things, and they're equating this as a great thing. Like, wouldn't it be great that we could eradicate all fake news? I'm like, no. You have to understand the constitutions, the freedom of speech. Right.
Because once you take that away, who determines what the truth is? That's right. Yeah.

The left only believes that you have freedom of speech when it agrees with what they with their speeches.

Correct. And then they use the word fascism without even understand I love Charlie Kirk and tell me what a fascist is. Why am I a fascist? Mhmm. What makes me a fascist? Yep.

No one can answer that. Right. Because they just they just spew what they with, and and parrot what they've heard, you know, on left leaning pods and left leaning shows and what their professors spew out. Because I don't I don't think they're really getting any kind of education. All they're getting, they're not being taught how to think. They're they're being told what to think.

Yeah. And there's no I remember I remember when I was in college and I, my major was criminology because I I knew I was gonna go to law school. So I said, you know what? Let me learn about law. It was called law justice, but we joked because it was an easy major. We called it law and options. So we had a ton of options that we could choose. Right. So in a college degree, getting a a college education for one purpose two purposes. One, I have a college degree. Second is so I could go to law school. And I went to, I went to the college in New Jersey, which, was a top ranked local college, still top ranked in the Northeast, 1 of the top, hardest now maybe Rutgers is, but hardest public school to get into in New Jersey, which, I mean, that's my claim to fame. Like, Al Bundy four touchdown, Swan Game. Right.
But, it was just at that time, I knew things weren't right. Like, when I was taking my elective classes and I took this class, and they were telling you, teaching you how to speak. And this was about, you know, LGBTQ before it was called. And I remember having a a a professor saying, okay. You're in this party, and there are people that are, you know, straight, and there are people who aren't straight. And how do you talk to them to show that you have full inclusion? And to me, it's the same thing when people, like, tell you how to talk to, you know, black people or how to talk to Hispanic people. Like Yeah. Just be a human.
Right. That's all you have to do. You know? Don't make it an issue when it's not an issue. Right? I totally agree with that. What what what you realized then, it was just I never felt comfortable about it. But what they were doing at that time, unbeknownst to me, and what they do now is they separate everyone by identity politics. And where do you learn that when you're most vulnerable is when you finally left your parents and you have your individual your individualism? You get to do whatever. You have no curfews. You get to be an idiot.
You you get to stay up late. Nobody's telling you what to do or what not to do. As long as you could balance that with your grades, your parents love you. Yeah. And they're okay with it. And that's the problem because then you're vulnerable to these ideologies that challenge everything you've known. And since you're in a situation where everything's great I mean, maybe your parents are paying for your college. You don't have to worry about money. Or maybe you have loans that no matter what you know, you can't get a car loan because you have no credit, but you could get a hundred and $50,000 Stafford loan. Right. Yeah. How does that make sense?

It it makes no sense. And then and then you you bitch and complain about having to pay it back.

So Exactly. And, you know, I keep saying that the problem is that the Stafford Loans, they said no matter what the school charges, we'll give you the loan. So what happens is they encourage these universities to increase the tuition on average 5% when the average inflation rate's 3%. So cost of a 2% differential every, what is it, Every thirty six years, college gets twice as expensive to the to the dollar. So every thirty six years, if college if if we had zero inflation and college was $20,000, it's now 40,000. So debt is twice as much one or two generations down the road. Right. So now you enter the workforce, and you're competing with people with no degree because your brain wants to think you need to have the degree to get a job that you don't need to have the degree. But now you have this debt. And why do you want why does an employer want you? Because you have the debt. You need the money. You can't go anywhere else.

And that makes a lot of sense. I never thought of it that way. That's a very that's a good way to look at it. Yeah. I mean, my my my nephew is 21 years old, and I said to him, you know, he lives in New Jersey. I said,

air traffic control. They need people to land planes right now. Your starting salary is a hundred and 40,000. You don't need a college degree.

It's a lot of stress, though. You know? Yeah. No no matter you know, some people, I don't know, you you know, they may not be able even no no matter how much you give them, they may not be able to handle that. Yeah. That's true. I don't know. Alright. So, Evan, why don't you, just kinda walk us through your background, give us an idea of of how you, became the go to attorney, for some of the most important and complex cases in in the history of The United States.

Well, where where where does one start? Right? Let me get it. First of all, I I'm I'm blessed to have, live in, there's two states I would like to live in, Texas being one of them, your hometown. But here in South Florida, Palm Beach, Boca Raton Nice. This is the Winter White House as they call it. So first thing is first, I was, located in the right area. Second is I, happen to be in the right location with the right people. And, one of the big assets that I've had was my friendship with the right people, one of which is a gentleman by the name of Peter Ticton. Peter Ticton, we worked together for years, and he happened to go to military school with Donald Trump. And Donald Trump calls him his oldest friend.
Mhmm. I say that's because you are literally his oldest friend. But, all kidding aside, his daughter ran into this woman who was very unknown at the time. Her name is Alina, Alina Habba. And I happen to know, at the time, Rand Paul senior adviser, who who then became one of Trump senior advisers. And, all things work together, and we started out as local counsel for for the president of The United States. Never have expected that. And that's not the end. That's just the beginning. And during, the aftermath in January 6, the president asked, mister Peter Ticton to work with him on gathering all the evidence, and he worked with Giuliani to make sure that all the evidence in January 6 were identifiable and that all the resources, all the phone calls, all the data was centralized.
We now have, a lot of information that would blow your mind, on what the truth behind January 6 is versus, what the fake news will share.

Well, then and I'm glad you brought up January 6 because, you know, that's what that's something that I'm I'm very interested in, and I've been I've been following it, obviously, since since it happened. I don't, I don't necessarily buy the, the narrative that the mainstream media puts out on it. But, k. You don't think it was an insurrection? Oh, no. I believe I believe it was, but I don't think it was the I I don't think it was the crowd that performed the insurrection. I think it was Exactly. Deep inside the government that did it. But, what do you think one of the biggest misconceptions, though, that the that the public has about the, January 6 legal proceedings as they were?

Okay. The legal proceedings that the people who were marching along or peacefully protesting through the Capitol Building, which for the most part was opened, alongside police officers and all types of people with no weapons. They got charged with crimes that you would think that, they had weapons and that they were gathered ahead of time with a a planned overthrow of the government, and they were treated like that. Mhmm. A lot of people were just what they thought were exercising their first amendment right, freedom of speech, didn't realize at the time that they were trespassing.
If we forget what was going on at that time, you had it was around COVID where everybody was, you know, locked inside for for months or or years depending on what state you resided in Mhmm. Except if you are part of certain types of, select groups, you know, Black Lives Matter being one of them Mhmm. Then you are allowed to peacefully protest, which included starting fires because that's just what you do during a peaceful protest. Right? Exactly. Yeah. Sure. I mean, because people get cold. You need to warm your body. That's right. Yeah. So the misconception is that these people who, given the opportunity, if you were in Washington DC walking near the Capitol Building, and you see people walking through the Capitol Building alongside police, and, really, nobody's trying to stop you walking through.
You could understand a little bit of the mentality. But the news, the fake news media saw it as an opportunity to really exploit the opportunity to get Trump to never run for office again, to criminalize it, politicize it, and, here we are today. Fortunately, we have somebody who was brave enough to withstand something that most people couldn't withstand, including his family at one point. Didn't think he had a chance after that election after the, twenty twenty election and said, dad, it's enough time. You know? You should step down, and not think about running again, and now he's our president.

Which is amazing. The when you think how the the how he has overcome the the radical left, mainstream media, all of the, the the the silencing of social media. The man had to go out and start his own social media company just to get out just to get his message out there. And he he went through the, the whole, Russia gate thing. While he was in office, he went through all of the bullshit, excuse my language, trials up in New York with, Leticia James. And and, by the way, New York is my hometown. I'm I'm a transplant to Texas. Thank god for that. Yes.

But, but, yeah, but but, Donald Trump, he went through all of those cases up in New York, the trials up in New York, the the the the convictions, the mugshots in Georgia, and and all of that stuff that they thought was gonna be detrimental to his political career is to silence him and shut him up. He is the most popular president by far in my lifetime, and probably in modern history, he's probably the most popular president. I saw a poll, I think it was earlier today or late yesterday, that, Real Clear Politics put out that, that he is at 48% approval at the same time in his second term as Barack Obama was at 47%, and George Bush was the second George Bush at 46%. So he's he's outperforming the darling of the Democrat party. Well, I don't I don't know if I can say that anymore. I don't think they're too too keen on Obama so much right now. But, but, you know, he beats out their darling, and he beats out, into the neocon.
So Yeah. You know, it's it's just it's just a testament to his his stamina, and especially at his age. You know? What is he, 73?

I think she's spending more time on Fox friends and Fox News than she is, in her office actually doing some work for the people that she promised would be done, and that president Trump said would be done. Like, of course, you know, we mentioned the Epstein files. Personally speaking, I don't think that there is much left. I think a lot of that was destroyed the moment that, that Donald Trump was, officially, named as a nominee for the Republican party for for for this, for this four year term. I think that as soon as that took place and they realized that the the possibility of him coming back to the offices was true, they they dumped everything they possibly could. And what they couldn't dump, I'm sure they scrubbed it.
Made, you know, changing documents and and whatnot. I wouldn't be surprised at that. Now I I did I did some law enforcement work back in New York, you know. I worked for the city for twenty three years. I was an investigator for a number of years. So I understand that, you know, investigations take time, and then sometimes you can't talk about things. You can't, you know, reveal too much information, you know, to the public on cases that you're working on. I understand that. But, you know, don't go out there and promise people, oh, there's truckloads of information and and produce a binder with nothing in it other than information that was already released and all redacted.

So the way I'm looking at what's to come is we know in his first term, you know, certain things for whatever reason, I like I said, I could come up with five, six, seven good conspiracies as to why this happened or this did not happen. But at the end of the day, what I'm more most concerned pragmatically is are we moving forward in a way where after this term, we get somebody in office that makes this country and makes us proud, Americans

I'd like to see and and I I know some people kinda scratch their heads when I say this, but I'd like to see a Vance Rubio ticket.

But, you know, if this is a legitimate, like, born again, you know, experience for him, I I'm really impressed. He's he's definitely the most improved player.

All I could think of is, you know, every time I've met the president, realizing the president's hands aren't little, and that's the only thing I I will never understand. Yeah. I know. Works together and gets these executive offices passed through through the legislative branch, not the executive branch.
And this way, the courts can't contest it because they'll have no standing, and they take the judicial branch out of the equation. Yeah. What is congress doing except the the lower house, passed a big, great bill. But by the time it comes into law, it's gonna be completely

So, you know, it's a fun activity when when you have some free time. Go into chat g b t or whatever artificial intelligence you use and type in, give me the best argument why we should not have voter ID or voter ID is racist.
And it's just interesting because you know? And you could just go really deep into it and say, no. Make it stronger. Make it more convincing. Make it more this or make it more that. And no matter how you do it, no matter how you spin it, it still makes no sense. It it makes, like, one of the things that I first started doing because I never understood this. It's it's the, squatter's rights issue. Mhmm. How do you justify a squatter's right? Like, how does a squatter someone who breaks an answer, it commits a crime, has rights in the first place. But since nobody has claimed that over time, they take possession over that property.
And that's when I started doing this. And now all of a sudden, just trying to look at arguments that make no sense from the other side just so that I could have a meeting of the minds and say, maybe I overlooked something. Maybe I missed something. Mhmm. There's nothing I missed. Just common sense. I'm and especially the voter ID. I'm like, give me the strongest and I watched these, Charlie Kirk when he goes to these campuses. You have all these people. I'm like, I'm waiting for that one person to have an argument that I never thought of why it makes sense to not have ID.
And it makes no sense.

Because by the same argument, men being women, it's easier to switch your racial culture, especially, depending on how you look and your your your background.
So I'm just into having things that you could apply common sense and rules that apply to everything in every scenario, and don't make an argument so complex because you want an outcome under one that you can't apply to others. It's the same thing. To me, it makes more sense polygamy, than other arguments, but we know we're not allowed the countries to have its rules about polygamy. I'm not a polygamist. And if you just fundamentally look at things from a common sense perspective, base it off of what our founding fathers have thought to create a constitution as a a foundation for where this country needs to go so that we don't repeat the mistakes of our past, I think we'll be fine. But right now, I think we're at war with just common sense, and it just makes no sense. And so, you know, I have a lot of respect for him and his career. You know, we both served in law enforcement in in New York. I mean, I didn't work with him or anything like that. We were two different agencies, you know, separate in different time period. But, I have a lot of respect for him and his background and a lot of things on the show. He's always talking about, you know, there's more to the story than than what meets the eye. You know, he's one of the he was one of those guys that, you know, was like Mhmm. I don't have to be first. I just have to be right. And Mhmm.
You know, and I respected that, and I still do. And I and I think that's a great way to to do things. So I do have a lot of respect for him. I don't know Kash Patel very well. I just know what I know from what I've seen, you know, more recently than prior to. You know, so, you know, I just feel like I just I just I I wish that that that they didn't have the, the muzzle on, if you know what I mean. And, all the things that he was talking about on the show, he was actually able to produce fast. But then again, like I said earlier, I did work in investigations and law enforcement. I understand you can't always talk about everything, you know. And the same thing with Pam Bondi too. I mean, I don't have anything personally about her, you know. I'm just pointing out the things that I've seen as far as, you know, it seems like she's on the new circuits more than anything else.

Yeah. And I think, her position is she she she's the the ringleader of that job, and she's counting on her staff to do things. But you want the message to be heard, and you also wanna understand what's going on and what why we're doing what we're doing. So I I get it. I don't think it's something that, she enjoys being in front of a camera more than she enjoys being in the office. I I I I don't get that vibe from her. That's That's what she's bad about. It's just a matter of maybe what the president wants her to do. Like, we need we need people like, if we have the fake news out there, we need, the leaders of the, you know, executive branch in in in particular to to get as much press time as possible so that we can control the narrative.

I'm not saying that's true. I'm just saying that there's more sure that meets the eye. Yeah. It's logical, and that that's good too. And that and that that's something I didn't consider before. So, you know, I appreciate that. It it's I I like I said, I just wanna see and I I know a lot of the base wants to see more action from the administration. Yeah. I mean, and I was very frustrated when she's like, tomorrow, Pam Bondi, tomorrow, you're gonna see all of this stuff.

We're gonna unleash all the Jeff's Jeffrey Epstein files. And tomorrow came and went. And it's like, where where where where was that? Like, what did we find out that other than he committed suicide? It's that that's in office right now or that is, you know, part of, you know, making America great again that may have been caught up in there. Yeah. Well Just saying. What what what could it be? When I I could not wait to get the hell out of there. You know? Even though I was born there, I was just raised, I grew up there, that's my you know, my whole life is there. I could not wait to get back to Texas.

I mean I mean, it's just I have my own opinions on, the tax code and what it does and how you can make it better, but, and nobody's really called me up and asked for my my my personal opinion on that matter. So I'll I'll ask you your I'll ask you your opinion on that matter. Go right ahead. Put you on the spot. Keep on your toes. You have to understand monetary policy, and you have to also realize that you have Florida. Let's just choose Texas because it's the same system. No tax. Right? Mhmm. You go to New York or let's choose California.
You know? We can bash California. Neither one of us is from there. Okay? Correct. Yep. You have California. You have taxes upon taxes upon taxes, and yet you have more homeless people in California than any place on this in this country. You have cities like San Francisco that nobody can go to Mhmm. Because it's been taken over by, not only homeless, but just a philosophy that's anti American, anti capitalism. How do you justify feces in front of storefronts, with homeless people there and calling the cops and the cops don't do jack shit. But yet you're paying more tax to live in that country, in that state. Mhmm. If you're at your highest level living in California, you're making a million dollars a year, over $500,000 is going to the government or the state, more than 50%. And what are you getting in return?
You're getting spit upon. You're not even a thank you card. The IRS or the, California's, taxes, I don't know what it's called there, doesn't send you a letter to say thank you for that $500,000 check you just sent us, and this is how the money is gonna be used. Right? Take Texas or Florida. You know, I grew up in New Jersey, visited New York a lot. It's my where my family's from. It's cleaner here. It's safer here. Mhmm. It's freer, definitely freer. I mean, you wanna see freedom. During COVID, you understood what it meant to live under, in in the state of Florida versus what was happening throughout the rest of the country.
And, DeSantis got it right, and freedom prevailed in in in Florida. And yet in New York, you have children or California. You pay all this money in taxes, and you can't even bring your kids to school for, what, two years in California in some jurisdictions. Yeah. And, you know, you you you take away everyone's freedom for no one's benefit except large governments, large institutions, and, you take away capitalism there. You take away the bigger businesses there. All the businesses that really wanna be there and stay there have left. And, you know, fortunately or unfortunately in Texas, they moved. And hopefully, they don't vote like they did in California.

I know. There there there are billboards all over Texas saying don't California my Texas, you know, and all that stuff. Yeah. So it's yeah. I think people here in Texas are are very well aware of Yeah. I mean, where are you from? You're not from Austin because I don't think they're aware in that city. No. I I'm actually right now, I live in Eagle Pass, so I'm on the border. Okay. I'm right there on the border. I'm I'm actually about less than two miles away from, Shelby Park where that standoff took place Okay. Between the feds and the and the local, and state police and whatnot. So, yeah. So it's been very interesting.
I like it here. I do. It's a, you know, it's a small town. It's only about 30,000 people. Mhmm. I do miss some things about New York. I miss, I I miss the variety of Mhmm. Nighttime options. You know, here Right. Everything closes by 09:00. You know? So so if you work late and you wanna get something to eat, there's no diner you can go to, like, you know, corner diner or something like that and Yeah. And whatnot. And and probably one of the more depressing things when I first moved here, I like to cook. Cooking is like my my my release. So, I was gonna make this really nice Italian dish. It was a fettuccine with sweet peas, prosciut, and a white wine sauce. Alright? Right.
So I went to the local soup. There's only two places really here that, you know, like big supermarkets. You had HEB and you have, Walmart. So, I went there, and I was like, alright. So I go I'm looking around. I'm like, alright. Well, I go to the deli counter. I say, I need a I need a quarter pound of prosciut, then sliced. And they were like, what's that?

Exactly. I remember, I was in before I moved down to Florida, I was in South Carolina near Myrtle Beach out of Piggly Wiggly. Mhmm. And I I I'm gonna I'm I'm not good at accents, but the accent was wonderful. It was just the lady at the deli said, she goes, she goes, city boy, you gotta talk slower down here.

Because I said, like, you know, growing up in Jersey, same thing in New York. She'll say, like, I'll take a quarter pound of turkey, half a pound of roast beef, and a pound of American. Yep. She couldn't one at a time. Way too fast. Yeah. I know. I know. And, we There's fortunately, where I'm from, I I'm in Boca Raton, and, it's, they call it the, part of the tristate area of, New York, New Jersey, and and Boca Raton. So you could go to the Publix here, or you could go to the bagel store, and you have bagels stores that are from New York. I mean, they taste, you always say New York bagels taste better, but you forget what they taste. You go to New York, they're like to me, they're the same. I'm I'm I'm blessed and cursed. I don't have a skilled taste bud. But bagels, they have Taylor ham or which is a Jersey thing. It's not even a New York thing, but it's just I don't know. Do you know what Taylor ham or pork roll is? Oh, yeah. Yeah. For sure. Okay. So growing up in New Jersey, especially if you had a a couple of drinks the night before the next day, you want some grease in your system. You get a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a bagel. Mhmm. And, you forget. You go out on the West Coast Of Florida or other parts. You don't have that. No. And what drives me nuts is that bagels, they have I get in everything, so they're seated on both sides because that's what it's like growing up in the Northeast. Yeah. Here in Boca, it's the same thing. You'd be shocked to see see it's only on one side, but you go out West in the same state.
Like, how do they get away with this? Like, because I like to eat my bagels one on one, not as a sandwich. And just all the things you get in New Jersey. You have pizza. You have brick oven pizza, coal fired pizza. If you wanna go to Miami, you're forty five minutes. That's our New York. It stays awake, stays open. There's a train walking distance from my place called the Bright Line. You can go forty five minutes tops, maybe thirty five minutes. Go right to Miami or in the heart of Miami. Go the other way, fifteen minutes here in Downtown West Palm Beach. You could go to Mar A Lago, be there in twenty minutes. I mean, it's really convenient here. You get the best of everything, plus you get the weather.
So there's really no reason to to to want or miss that area except, you'll never go take a subway to a Yankee game. Mhmm. It's it's not going to a Marlins game is never the same. Of course. I mean, you know, I I always joke. Like, if I didn't wanna wear clothes to a Marlins game, nobody would notice because nobody's there. Right. But the Yankees do play there every couple of years. They they come down. So you get to see the Yankees. If you're a Mets fan, they're always there. Yep. But it's not the same. But those are the things or Broadway in New York or Times Square or, you know, seeing your friends, having a barbecue. It's it's different down there. Barbecues,

that's that's a staple here. This is, you know, that's all they that's all we do here is just barbecue. But, or they here they call it cookouts. So, but, but just to go no bagels here. There's no bagel shops here. If you want if you want a bagel, you gotta buy one of those prepackaged ones, like some Thomas's or something like that. Yeah. Cannot get Italian bread here? No. No. Not at all.

So, so I I was able to check it out and really good stuff, really good food. And, again, not home, but, you know, that's what it is. But, yeah, I I remember I that the first time I I I made a a ham egg and cheese sandwich with the bagel. Yeah. You know, it had to be one of the Thomas's ones, but I made that. And, my wife at the time, she was like she goes, what is that?

Eat. I know. You know? It's so funny. It's so funny. And, the one thing you find in Florida that's that's different is it's, there's nothing authentic down here. So there's not like I mean, you could go to Miami and there's Cuban food, and there's a lot of, Hispanic cuisine there that's that's our authentic food, but that's not authentic to Florida. That's

Yeah. No. I get you. But, like so it's funny when people come down here, I'm like, there's never let me teach show you an authentic anything here. I mean, everything's new here. I mean, there's Gotcha. Growing up in New Jersey, I grew up outside Morristown where George Washington in the winter winter months stayed there. I know. I didn't know during the revolutionary work because before I was a history buff when I was five, six, seven, eight years old. All you see all all over that area, George Washington slept here. I'm like, what did this guy do? He just slept everywhere. Like Kinda gets around. Right? He just went to people's houses instead of sleeping here.
I know. But but you have that history. I mean, you really have little his I mean, you have history here. You have Henry Flagler history who founded this area. You have Addison Mizner, but it's all nineteen twenties and for the most part and thereafter. Gotcha. So New York, I mean, or New Jersey, you'd see things that were there during the foundation of America. And then you you really put things in perspective. I mean, that's American history. It was just in Europe, and you see if something there that's been there for it was in Prague, and you're like, oh, that was built 500 or 800 years ago. And Yeah. It's it's it's amazing.

My my my dad very disappointed in me, you know, because my dad was a big time Yankees fan. And, I always tell this story. I gotta tell you this story. My so my so one Father's Day, I wanted to get something really special for my dad. So I went to the MLB shop, and I bought an authentic field jersey, fitted hat, and all that stuff, packaged it all up. And I bring it over to the house, and, I'm sitting there, like, all giddy, like a little like a little school kid.
Dad's opening up the package, and he when he gets to the jersey, he opens up, and he holds it up, and it's says Boston on it with his name on the back with a big number one stitched in, you know, field jersey with a fitted Boston Red Sox hat. And he just looked at me. He was like, Joseph. He goes, this is great. Thank you. Thank you. Gives me a big hug and a big kiss, puts it all back in the box, takes it into the kitchen, he walks out of the room with it. And I sat there. I looked at my mom. I was like, well, that that didn't go quite the way I thought it was gonna go. So she goes, yeah. She goes, no. That didn't. And I was like, well, I did. Is he alright? Does he feel okay? She's just I was like, oh, no. He's fine. He's good.
And I'm sitting there talking to my mom for about a good ten minutes or so, and then and then I'm like, well, where is he? Where did he go? Because, you know, the house isn't that big, you know, where one room away. What happened to him? So I get up and I go to look, and and he's not in the house. He's out in the backyard. He's sitting at he has a little table out there. He has, you know, all his big his garden. He loves his garden. Loved his garden. And, he's sitting out there, and he's reading a book. So, alright. I go out. Hey, dad. What's going on?
Got a fire going? He goes, yep. I looked down in the fire. What's in the fire? The Red Sox jersey, the Red Sox hat, all that stuff. I was like, dad, what are you doing? Because you have much how much that cost? And And he goes, well, who's more the fool then?

And my sister and I, we you know, after after my parents passed and we were cleaning out the house, we we looked through every photo album there was, and I could not find it. So I don't know. I I hope somebody in the family has it, but, you know, it would be nice for me to have.

Yeah. I have a a that's a similar story, but it's somewhat similar. It was 1984. I was seven years old. We flew into, Los Angeles. I'm with my mom. And in the airport, this is when the 1984, Olympics were taking place in Los Angeles. So in the airport, I see all of the, the basketball players. They just won the gold medal. They're wearing their, warm up uniform. So the jackets with the pants that you could rip easily Yeah. To to and they're all in the airport, and they're all wearing their gold medals. So I wasn't shy when I was seven years old, and I ran up to them.
And one of them picked me up, put the gold medal, and turned to my mom for her to take a picture. But my kids will never understand this story. They're like, why didn't your mom take a picture? I said, because people didn't walk around with cameras Right. Yeah. Back in 1984. I was like a victim of my circumstances. Right now, I would have had a thousand pictures. We don't have we didn't have cell phones. No. No. It's like I always tell my kids this. I was like, you're so spoiled. I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 21 years old.

what you mean. But when you look at that 1984 team, it could have been Michael Jordan. It could have been David Robinson. It could have been a lot of players. And, I knew it wasn't Larry Bird. I just remember he he didn't look like Larry Bird. But when he put the medal on my neck,

I I remember like it was the incident. Yeah. Of course. Like, I remember my dad my dad used to, my dad worked for the post office for, like, thirty plus years, but he also, on the side, he drove a yellow cab in Manhattan. Mhmm. And, Instead of my grandfather. Yeah. Yeah. And what so one time, he picked up, a bullpen coach for the Yankees, and it was this was 1977, I think. '78 maybe. And, it was a long drive, and, you know, they they got along really well. And he invited my dad to a game and left tickets for him at the at the box, and, you know, most of my dad takes me, and we got there. He and my and the guy said to my father to let him know when we when we're there, get him a message that we're there, and, he'd get us into the clubhouse to meet the team. And so I have pictures with, like, Craig Nettles, Bucky Dent, Phil Rizzuto, you know, Bill White, all those guys, Billy Martin. You know? I have pictures and autographs of all of that stuff.
And the one thing that stood out out of all of it is I was wearing a Mets hat. So, you know, but, but I'll never forget that. That was that was an incredible experience, you know. And it it's it's those are the things that you hold on to. You don't need a camera for those things, you know. No. I mean, that camera, that's vivid memory in my head. Yeah. It's still the camera would have been nice, though. I could've shown my children. My son

knows every single thing, every little statistic about basketball. Nice. It's incredible. You know? And he was he could stomp anyone on on my little, like, tidbits of information. Right. So he's kinda always drills me. Like, who was it? Was it this person? Was it that person? And how old is this? More of the nineteen eighty four US Olympic team than I do. Who am I? And he was born in 02/2013.

Oh, okay. Okay. I I was gonna He's the last one. I was gonna say how old he was. Well, that's wild, man. And and and those are memories you just cherish those things, you know. And and you hope, you know, to kinda tie it all back into the politics conversation, you know, you you hope that that the generation that's coming up is gonna remember those moments that they had with with you, with me, you know, and and, you know, we should be doing the very best that we can in our generation to teach our children what this country was really all about.
And Yeah. And try to and try to instill in them

those values. And and I think if you're blessed enough that you could afford to travel, and have the ability to take your children with you, As you get older, you look at things different where money can be spent on many material things, but you can't ever get the memories like you have when you travel. That's true. And going and and and taking my children I mean, we've been in various countries. And in the last year, year and a half, we've been to, like, five countries. And, we're going we're going away on Friday to, The Middle East for the first time. And, so it'll be interesting. It'll be interesting.
But, you don't understand. Like, we were just in Germany, in Berlin about six, seven weeks ago. You don't understand and this is really it goes back to the point of, you know, your show. You don't understand really what life is like until you actually been there, and you don't understand what it was like during that time until you were actually there. And the one thing that I I didn't know I mean, I knew a lot about World War two, and I knew a lot about, how they won the blitzkrieg and that the Germans were on crazy amounts of amphetamines, and they just didn't sleep, didn't stop. Even if they were shot, they wouldn't stop. Going. Yeah.
They kept going. But what was incredibly interesting to me is they split the tour guides and then, obviously, we went to the English tour guide, and he's from England. And he was telling us that there's so much political correctness in England that you don't even get an authentic history anymore of World War two. And he had to go to a special, like, international university just so that he can get a unique perspective of Yeah. The history of World War two. And one of the things he said was that we overestimate how good the Germans were in just about every part of the war except the two things was the blitzkrieg because of the euphemism and two is propaganda.
Mhmm. The propaganda we saw, the Ministry of Propaganda was right there. I mean so we got to see the actual building where all the propaganda started. Right. And they they came up with I think it was I I I I I don't know. I don't recall who it was. Sometimes it's Hitler is quoted for saying it. It's Erwin Rommel. I don't remember who exactly, but, the bigger the lie and the more you repeat it, they shall, the more they will accept it. Yeah. Something to that. And you don't realize what's happening in this country until you travel there, and you see the actual history. Mhmm. And it's kind of like being in a room where it's completely bright out, and then somebody just comes to mess with you and just starts dimming it 5%.
All of a sudden, you're in a pitch dark room, and you don't know how you got there. Right? Yep. And that's how world war two started. I mean, it was just you know, it was people that were fed up with the establishment, the decisions that were made ahead of their time that got into incredible poverty and felt like they needed a scapegoat, and that scapegoat happened to be not only Jews, but Bolsheviks, gypsies, and anyone that was not them. Right now, everyone just blames in this country, everyone just blames everyone except themselves. They don't look inside. You know? Yeah. I agree. And you have a generation of victims right now, and it's the same thing. I'm not equating it to Nazi Germany, as a direct parallel, but there are some commonalities is blaming others for your problems rather than looking deep within yourself. Right?
And without traveling, without doing these things, I don't think you get a you know, without going to Germany, you don't have a good understanding of America, because America could go down that path if we allow it to. Very easily. And, you know, hatred's hatred on both sides, the left and the right. I think the left does a better job of making the right look bad in using things like, they have Antifa, and we have the Proud Boys. But the Proud Boys aren't you know, you stick their eyes in its villainized, whereas the Antifa is, you know, made to seem like they're, saints. Yeah. Free yeah. The freedom fighters. Right. Yeah. Yeah. The freedom fighters. And you have the Proud Boys, and you have, you know, a bunch of groups like that. And not that I necessarily support the ideology or even the understanding of it, but there is a lot of unknown, truth to what, you know, fundamental core principles of America that is in their, thought process.
And yet nobody really understands what your thought process is because they are equated to Nazis, and they aren't Nazis. I mean, I don't think, you know, a group that has multicultural followers, black, white, Latino as a leader, can be considered akin to a Nazi, but it's just understanding that history and seeing what's happening in this country. And most important, the ministry of propaganda, where is that coming from? And it's the fake news here. That's right. Yeah. So Absolutely. You know? When you have, you know, it doesn't matter what your political side is. It just what matters is in your political side is you wanna believe what you wanna believe so you come to conclusions based on those beliefs.
But when, Hunter Biden laptop came out right before an election and everyone knew it was Hunter Biden's laptop, how dare the news, how dare them, you know, say you can't release this truthful information because the ministry of propaganda or, whatever you wanna call it, you know, deemed it fake news. Mhmm. And what scares me the most under the Biden administration and the prior administration was that they had a ministry of truth. It was the same thing as the propaganda during, ministry of propaganda during Nazi Germany, that they determined what was valid news and what was invalid news. And I was on a podcast not too long ago about AI of all things, and they're equating this as a great thing. Like, wouldn't it be great that we could eradicate all fake news? I'm like, no. You have to understand the constitutions, the freedom of speech. Right.
Because once you take that away, who determines what the truth is? That's right. Yeah.

The left only believes that you have freedom of speech when it agrees with what they with their speeches.

Correct. And then they use the word fascism without even understand I love Charlie Kirk and tell me what a fascist is. Why am I a fascist? Mhmm. What makes me a fascist? Yep.

No one can answer that. Right. Because they just they just spew what they with, and and parrot what they've heard, you know, on left leaning pods and left leaning shows and what their professors spew out. Because I don't I don't think they're really getting any kind of education. All they're getting, they're not being taught how to think. They're they're being told what to think.

Yeah. And there's no I remember I remember when I was in college and I, my major was criminology because I I knew I was gonna go to law school. So I said, you know what? Let me learn about law. It was called law justice, but we joked because it was an easy major. We called it law and options. So we had a ton of options that we could choose. Right. So in a college degree, getting a a college education for one purpose two purposes. One, I have a college degree. Second is so I could go to law school. And I went to, I went to the college in New Jersey, which, was a top ranked local college, still top ranked in the Northeast, 1 of the top, hardest now maybe Rutgers is, but hardest public school to get into in New Jersey, which, I mean, that's my claim to fame. Like, Al Bundy four touchdown, Swan Game. Right.
But, it was just at that time, I knew things weren't right. Like, when I was taking my elective classes and I took this class, and they were telling you, teaching you how to speak. And this was about, you know, LGBTQ before it was called. And I remember having a a a professor saying, okay. You're in this party, and there are people that are, you know, straight, and there are people who aren't straight. And how do you talk to them to show that you have full inclusion? And to me, it's the same thing when people, like, tell you how to talk to, you know, black people or how to talk to Hispanic people. Like Yeah. Just be a human.
Right. That's all you have to do. You know? Don't make it an issue when it's not an issue. Right? I totally agree with that. What what what you realized then, it was just I never felt comfortable about it. But what they were doing at that time, unbeknownst to me, and what they do now is they separate everyone by identity politics. And where do you learn that when you're most vulnerable is when you finally left your parents and you have your individual your individualism? You get to do whatever. You have no curfews. You get to be an idiot.
You you get to stay up late. Nobody's telling you what to do or what not to do. As long as you could balance that with your grades, your parents love you. Yeah. And they're okay with it. And that's the problem because then you're vulnerable to these ideologies that challenge everything you've known. And since you're in a situation where everything's great I mean, maybe your parents are paying for your college. You don't have to worry about money. Or maybe you have loans that no matter what you know, you can't get a car loan because you have no credit, but you could get a hundred and $50,000 Stafford loan. Right. Yeah. How does that make sense?

It it makes no sense. And then and then you you bitch and complain about having to pay it back.

So Exactly. And, you know, I keep saying that the problem is that the Stafford Loans, they said no matter what the school charges, we'll give you the loan. So what happens is they encourage these universities to increase the tuition on average 5% when the average inflation rate's 3%. So cost of a 2% differential every, what is it, Every thirty six years, college gets twice as expensive to the to the dollar. So every thirty six years, if college if if we had zero inflation and college was $20,000, it's now 40,000. So debt is twice as much one or two generations down the road. Right. So now you enter the workforce, and you're competing with people with no degree because your brain wants to think you need to have the degree to get a job that you don't need to have the degree. But now you have this debt. And why do you want why does an employer want you? Because you have the debt. You need the money. You can't go anywhere else.

And that makes a lot of sense. I never thought of it that way. That's a very that's a good way to look at it. Yeah. I mean, my my my nephew is 21 years old, and I said to him, you know, he lives in New Jersey. I said,

air traffic control. They need people to land planes right now. Your starting salary is a hundred and 40,000. You don't need a college degree.

It's a lot of stress, though. You know? Yeah. No no matter you know, some people, I don't know, you you know, they may not be able even no no matter how much you give them, they may not be able to handle that. Yeah. That's true. I don't know.
