Tonight we're diving into a variety of topics with our new studio setup. We've revamped the studio with new lighting, a new desk on the way, and upgraded microphones, all thanks to the generous support from our listeners. We discuss the challenges of balancing a day job with podcasting and the potential for a new show schedule.
We also touch on the recent Super Bowl, sharing my thoughts on the political nature of sports today and my personal sports team preferences. I recount a humorous story about a Father's Day gift gone wrong, involving a Boston Red Sox jersey and my dad's reaction.
In the political realm, we discuss President Trump's recent initiatives, including his collaboration with Elon Musk to investigate government spending inefficiencies. We explore the reactions from Democrats and the implications of these investigations on education and defense spending.
We also delve into the topic of USAID and the controversies surrounding its spending, as well as the recent FEMA funding issues related to illegal immigration. The discussion extends to the broader implications of government spending and accountability.
Finally, we touch on the topic of Texit and the potential for Texas to become an independent nation. We explore what would happen to U.S. military bases in Texas post-Texit and the possibilities of mutual defense agreements. As always, we encourage listeners to engage with us through our website and social media, and to consider supporting the podcast through donations or by becoming a member of the Texas Nationalist Movement.

Welcome to the podcast where every episode promises an unfiltered dive into the eclectic, the profound, and sometimes the absurd. No topic is off limits. Nothing is sacred, and political correctness takes a back seat.

Hey, folks.
[00:01:21] Unknown:
This is Joe Rusciello, and we are live at the Asylum Studios broadcasting from the pimple on the backside of Texas, the beautiful city of Eagle Pass, and we're here tonight to bring you the best quality talk radio we can muster without all the bluster. Welcome to the podcast. Folks, it is great to be with you again here on a beautiful Monday night, once again in Eagle Pass, Texas. And, we have a new outlook. We have a new look here at the, the asylum studio. I don't know if you've noticed that, but, we have our new setup here. We don't have the big screens. Well, you didn't really see it before. It's only the one episode like that. But we gotta fix our Texas flag here.
Can't can't disrespect, but we are excited to be here tonight. We have, like I said, a new setup. Everything here is nice and sparkly, and the only thing that's really the same is me and the desk and the well, really everything's the same. Right? Just rearranged, done a little bit differently. And, I wasn't sure if you're gonna do a video tonight because, I'm not really a % ready for it. I haven't figured out a couple of little things that, I have to do. Like, for example, I got rid of having the computer screen here. I mean, I have one here to my to my left that is, you know, for me just to monitor the feed and the stream and all that stuff and make sure we're okay. And then I have a a tablet down here that, I'm using as you could see. I'll see if I can pick it up without messing it up. But here's the, tablet.
So, we're excited, you know, to play around with that to see how that works out. But, I I was a little bit disappointed in the fact that, I wanted to really use a tablet to do pretty much everything, but it's just not capable of doing that. So, for tonight at least, until I figure all that out, I'm gonna be looking this way for a little bit when I run some clips. But, other than that, we got new lighting. We got the whole setup here behind us. Now later this week, we got a new desk coming, something a little bit smaller than what I have here right now. This way, I can actually fit the studio up to have more than one, seat. So we could have our guests in here with us when we do video, and of course, be able to, you know, have the cameras at various locations throughout the studio. I do have to get used to looking straight ahead now. It's set now that we have the camera here, and, I don't have the monitors in front of me. I have to, you know, focus on you guys.
I've got new mics. We're trying out the, the the Rode, Procaster to go along with the RodeCaster, board. So we're we're trying all this stuff out to see how it works. We got a couple of new mics on the other station over there. The only thing I'm I'm waiting for beside the desk is the, is the mic stand. So we could put this here right in front of us. This way, I'm not talking into this thing. And, you know, we'll see we'll see how all of that stuff goes. So, that's what I did over the weekend. I I I emptied out the whole studio room here and, redid it and set it all up. So I hope it looks somewhat pleasing to everybody out there. And, I hope that, we're gonna be able to do a lot of shows, this way.
Will I be doing five shows a week like we did last week? I'm not sure yet. Alright? It really was a lot of work, especially considering that, you know, I work a day job and, you know, I have to do show prep and get everything ready for, for the show tonight, and and every other night. So, it it does take a lot of time. So, we will definitely try to work out some kind of a schedule, a better schedule than what we have. And, I just noticed something on the feed. Gotta fix something. Hold on one second. You're gonna be impressed with this. Watch this. Boom. There we go.
In the lower left third. See it, down there. No. Down there. We'll get used to this. Alright? Alright. Well, Super Bowl this weekend, I didn't watch it. I'll be honest with you. I'm not I'm not big on football these days, especially when, football became so political. Well, actually, all sports became political, like baseball became political. I stopped following that and stopped following football as much. You know, I do have my teams though, you know. As a as a native New Yorker, I do I do like and and and root for the Buffalo Bills because, I don't care what everybody has to say about it. The New York Giants and the New York Jets are not New York teams. They play in New Jersey.
So they're New Jersey teams. So the only real football team in, New York is, Buffalo. So, so we always we always root for Buffalo, to start off with. We also then, you know, since I came here to Texas, of course, you know, I try to be supportive of the Texas teams. I love my hockey. Hockey, I love my my New York Rangers. Rangers, baby. Not having a great year, but Rangers, baby. We're we're hoping, and we're we're looking forward to seeing what they can do. Baseball, surprisingly, I'm not a I'm not a Yankees fan. Like, like, about 98% of everybody else out there, I'm a Mets fan, for my National League team. And, for my American League team, sorry to say guys, but I I am a Boston Red Sox fan.
You know, and that goes back to the days, when my dad was still alive. And, we used to just torture each other. Basically, I would I would go to his house wearing my, Boston Red Sox jersey, my Red Sox hat. And, you know, it was a it was a lot of fun to, tease each other back and forth. But I will tell you one funny story though. I don't know if I told you guys or when I was doing the other podcast if I if I told the story there. But there was a a Father's Day that came about, and I decided that I was gonna get my dad some some, baseball gear. Some, you know, jerseys and and whatnot. But of course, you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna, you know, bust his eggs about this. So, I went and I bought him this this beautiful, you know, you know, authentic MLB, jersey, fitted hat, and all that stuff, and it was absolutely beautiful. And, of course, it was Boston Red Sox. I got him a travel jersey from the Red Sox. I had his name stitched on the back, a big number one, you know, number one fan. Got him his fitted Red Sox hat.
And, I remember I I brought it to, I brought it to my parents house, and and I gave it to dad. And, you know, he didn't know what it was. He opened it up, and he's, you know, he starts seeing all this, you know, the the box, the the tissue paper was Red Sox tissue paper. He opened it up. He held up the jersey like this. He looked at it and he said, wow. He goes, Joseph, this is I don't know what to say. I'm like, well, you know, happy Father's Day. I said, I know. I know you're a Yankee fan. I'm just, you know, twisting you a little bit, but, you know, happy Father's Day and and so on and so forth. Gave him gave him his hat. And he just looked at it, and he stared at it, and he just got up. He took the box. He took the the the jersey, the hat, everything that was there, and he walked out of the room. And and I turned to my mom, and I was like, hey, you know, that didn't exactly go the way I thought it was gonna go. And, she's like, no. No. He's, you know, well he goes to Joseph, you know, he is getting older. I'm like, no. I understand. I get it. But, you know, I still wasn't expecting that. And it's and it now I'm sitting there with mom, and it's been quite a while.
And, dad just kinda, you know, got lost. So I got up and I went to go see where he was. I went through the kitchen, and there he was out in the backyard, and he was, you know, just kinda standing there. So I went out there and I noticed when I got to the to the sliders going out to the patio, that he was standing in front of his fire pit and he threw that, 200 plus dollar jersey and fitted hat right into the fire. And, I just looked at my dad, I was like, what are you doing? Are you insane? Do you have any idea how much that cost? And my dad just looked at me, goes, well, who's more the fool?
Lesson learned. Lesson learned. But, but, that was, you know, so so yeah. So baseball, you know, sports, all that stuff, I kinda got off on a little a little, a little bunny trail there. But, that that that sports, I so I'm not a huge fan of sports these days, but, I do have my favorites. I do like my teams. And but, I did not watch the Super Bowl yesterday, but yet I understand that there was quite a few, quite a few things that took place. I heard that, and I saw some clips. Donald Trump was very warmly, received at the Super Bowl, and that that was great to see.
And, of course, Taylor Swift was booed pretty much out of the stadium. And, that was that was, a sight to see. But, hey. You know what, folks? I don't and I I hear there's a lot of, discussion over the halftime show. So if there's anything about the halftime show that I should know about, you know, you could drop a comment here. We are broadcasting live right now, video on Rumble. So if you, if you're listening on the audio, the live audio stream, you can head over to rumble.com/rooz. That's r00z. And, jump on board with the stream. We're trying out, broadcasting on x. I just I don't know if we're actually doing well there or not. I doesn't the, the the screen here doesn't tell me how many, viewers we have on on x right now. But, we got a couple of folks. And considering this is our first show, we didn't really promote it and mention it until today.
So I for the folks that are actually watching, thank you. Thank you for being here. But if you have any comments about your, about the Super Bowl, if you watched it, if you saw it, you can always drop a comment here in the chat, or you could, leave a comment, or you could always, go over to our, you could go over our website. You could send us a message through email, through our contact form. You could also use, [email protected]. So, with all that said, how about we get into some of the business of the night? As always, before we do anything else, we always wanna ask you to head over to our website. That's joe rusiello dot com.
I don't have a whole studio crew here. It's just me, so I can't, you know, multitask too much. Otherwise, I'll be looking here, I'll be looking there, and all kinds of stuff. Otherwise, next time, we'll arrange to have it go across the screen so you guys could see it. But just head over to our website, joerusiello.com, and head over to our contact section. When you get over there, head over, click that contact button, and, open up that little form there. Send us over a message. Let us know whatever you're thinking. Any questions, comments, cares, concerns that you have, any suggestions that you wanna send over to us, we would love to have them. Also, if you don't wanna use the web form, you could always email me directly again at [email protected].
And then, of course, also while you're on the website, if you would, please look for the support button. Alright? Very, very important. The support button's on the home page. It's in the upper right corner. There's a little pancake up there. You can hit that drop down support. And it's important because this is a value for value podcast. And all that basically means is that if you've received any value from what we're doing here, we're asking that you return that value in the form of a donation. Now you do you can do we have the three t's. You could you could donate your time. You could donate your talent.
You could donate your treasure. I think donating treasure is pretty obvious, but we'll we'll get into more detail of that in a moment. But, you can donate your time and your talent. Now, if you have a particular set of skills, that, you might be able to help us out with, say, graphic design, running a website, Maybe you have, experience using, studios like this, where you could, help us out with the graphics and and whatnot. However it is that you have that time, that talent, you could own you could donate that to us. If you have time to donate, where you could do research for us possibly, you know, you can help us put together the show notes, and and things of that nature.
Hey, we'll take it. That'll be that's a help. But if you wanna donate your treasure, you can do that in a number of different ways. You that we could you could do a one time donation in any amount that you feel is appropriate for us. Or, you could head over to the website and you could, set up a monthly recurring donation. Now there are three different monthly recurring donations that you could set up to get some kind of a perk out of it. We have our monthly recurring donation of $17.76, and with that, you get the associate producer credit. And that means that on every show that we put forward, as long as it's a monthly recurring donation, you will get, a shout out as an associate producer of the show, and you'll also get listed in the show notes going forward as an associate producer of the show.
But that's not all. You could also, if you'd like, to to donate more, you could also donate a monthly recurring donation of $18.36, and that will get you the producer's credit. That's the same thing as same perk of the associate producer, but you're getting the producer credit. And then, of course, we have, a monthly recurring donation of $25 or more. You get the executive producer credit. Now, we, we have one executive producer right now. That's Wayne Rankin, and we really appreciate the donation that, that Wayne has made. So we we we're very, very thankful for it. But, hey. You can get in on that too. So $25 or more donation gets you executive producer. Eighteen thirty six gets you producer, and $17.76 gets you the associate producer.
Alright. Now, we use we we use those because, basically, by your donation, you're helping us produce the show. If it wasn't for the donations that we have received, we wouldn't have the lighting that we have. We wouldn't have the newer, microphones and equipment that we have. We wouldn't be able to get the new new table that's coming, because because of those things come out of the donations. It also goes to help us with platforms that we're on, like on Rumble. We're a part of Rumble Premium, and so we're able to use the, Rumble Studio because of that, and that your donations help us pay for that. So, your donations are helping us produce the show, so that's why we refer to you as producers.
Alright. Does that make sense? Alright. So, hopefully, we'll see some donations coming through, and we would really appreciate them. Alright, folks. YouTube is, YouTube is just not not where you wanna go if you if you're into a a free speech, advocate or you're a free speech type of program like ours, where we say anything, we will talk about anything, we are not gonna censor ourselves, we're not going to, we're not PC here at all.

So we're gonna do that, after we run through some of these, some of these headlines and some of these stories, we're we're gonna take a little break, and then we'll come back and, we'll get started with, our Tex It FAQ of the day and, some Texas news and updates. Again, we're trying to keep this as local as we possibly can.
And, oh, by the way, before I forget, coming up, on, Monday, February. We're gonna have a special guest. We're gonna be recording an interview, with Jack Kammer, who's a social worker, who specializes in men's mental health needs and relate men's relationship, health. And, we'll be recording that interview on Saturday the twenty second, and it will run on this show on Monday the twenty fourth. So make sure you, make sure you check it out. It's gonna be a really good show. Spoke to Jack a little bit. Really good guy, smart guy, and, really excited to sit down and talk to him about about these, these men's health issues. So I hope you're looking forward to that as well. I tried to do it for Valentine's Day, but we we we just couldn't work that out. But I thought it would be appropriate that way, but, it just didn't work. But that's fine. I digress.
Alright. So, as we were talking about earlier, you know, president Trump showed up at the, at, at at the Super Bowl, and, he also sat down with, Tucker Carlson prior to. And, he, put forward a a pretty detailed, plan, to instruct DOGE, the Department of Governmental, Efficiency, that Elon Musk is running to probe, education and defense departments for wasteful spending. The president told Fox News chief political anchor Brett Baer in an exclusive pre Super Bowl interview, that the billionaire entrepreneur has been a trustworthy ally in fulfilling his promise to cut the red tape. Let's, let's give a listen.
[00:26:09] Unknown:
I don't know if it's kickbacks or what's going on, but the people look, I ran on this, and the people want me to find it. And I've had a great help with Elon Musk, who's been terrific. Bottom line, you say you trust him. Trust Elon? Oh, he's not gaining anything. In fact, I wonder how he can devote the time to it. He's so into it. But I told him do that, then I'm gonna tell him very soon, like, maybe in twenty four hours, to go check the Department of Education. He's gonna find the same thing. Then I'm gonna go go to the military. Let's check the military. We're gonna find billions, hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud and abuse.
And, you know, the people elected me on that.
[00:26:51] Unknown:
Brett's full interview will air on your local Fox station, 3PM eastern before the Super Bowl today. Much more to come on that.
[00:26:59] Unknown:
Alright. So sorry. I had to I got a little distracted. I got caught up scrolling through this article here. So, I mean, that's that that's just great news. I mean, the the the Doge has been doing a fantastic job. And you as always, you you measure the effectiveness by the response. Alright? You look at how the Democrats are reacting to this thing. You look how Liberals are reacting to this thing. They're they're doing everything they can to keep Doge, to keep president Trump from looking into the finances of The United States. Why? Because they're trying to cover their tracks. They're trying to cover how much money they've been spending of your tax dollars of your tax dollars, how much your money has been going to fund these ridiculous projects, like, studying I think it was 20 something million dollars went to studying transgenderism in in in pets.
Yeah. That's a real thing. That's a real thing that your money went to. The so you measure, you measure the response. I I don't know what to say to that. You know, I had I had something in my mind, but I I just, like, flipped out when I actually said it out loud. But, these are the things that are going on. Now, of course, you know, all the moves that have been met with outrage, according to the article here, from some Democrats, including a group who attempted to enter the Department of Education in light of possible cuts last week. 30 house Democrats attempted to enter the Department of Education building in Washington, DC on Friday morning, to meet with the education secretary, Denise l Carter, but they were stopped by security.
And, I don't know if you saw the clip of that. I was looking to see if it was attached to this article here, but it doesn't seem to be. You had you had this security officer who is, turned out to to be actually a federal employee, employed by Department of Education to, provide security for for the, for the building, getting absolutely berated berated by Maxine Waters. And, actually, here's the clip right here. Because they know that we're here. Max asked the question again. That's important. Were you told are you
[00:29:32] Unknown:
We're trying to say We're trying to say We're trying to say
[00:29:43] Unknown:
We're allowed in there. So a private security contractor Do you do you know members of the outlaw? Members of congress. Members of congress. Maybe he doesn't understand. He's not the same. Is making the decision to block members of congress. You need to see the guy's face.
[00:29:59] Unknown:
He is just staring, looking everywhere but at them as they're talking. You have the authority as a private security contractor to block members of Congress. That that that has been knighted in Alright. And so that goes on in this clip for another five minutes. So we're we're gonna just gonna skip right down here to, to, Mad Max, Maxine Waters, just continuing to berate this guy. And this guy is this guy deserves a medal. This guy should get the medal of freedom. I mean, really.
[00:30:28] Unknown:
President Trump really does need to recognize this guy. Look them in the eye. Come on. Hold your face up. Look at him. Let him see you. This is him. Look at him. What's your name?
[00:30:38] Unknown:
Shut up your name. Right. Maxine Waters is is the most corrupt politician in congress.
[00:30:45] Unknown:
You do what? I showed you the ID. Did you let me see the ID again? No. No? Will someone else ask him for the ID? Will you ask him for it? He won't let me see it again. You didn't see it. You didn't see it. You didn't see it. I didn't
[00:31:02] Unknown:
So, at so president Trump then had a, had a had a, press conference, about this. And,
[00:31:12] Unknown:
let me see if this is the this is the clip here. What do you think when you saw the Democratic lawmakers trying to get into the department page earlier today? That's, Peter Jones. I see the same ones. I see Maxine Waters, Alola. If I see, you know, all these people, they don't they don't love our country. They don't love our country. We want great education. So they rank 40 countries in education. We're ranked dead last, dead last. But the good news is we're number one in one category. You know what that is? Cost per pupil. We spend more per pupil than any other country in the world. You look at Norway, Denmark, Sweden, various countries all up and down, Finland.
China does very well in education. And then you look at us, we spend much more money than they do per pupil or any other way. But we spend much more money than they do and yet we're ranked this year, Biden's last year. Congratulations, Joe. We're ranked dead last. So what I wanna see is education. Number one, I like choice. We all like choice. But beyond choice, long beyond choice, I wanna see it go back to the states where great states that do so well have no debt. They're operated brilliantly. They'll be as good as Norway or Denmark or Sweden or any of the other highly ranked countries. They'll be Mhmm. You probably have 30 I figured 35 to 38 states will be right at the top, and the rest will come along. They'll have to come along competitively. And by the way, we'll be spending a lot less money, and we'll have great education.

As part of this Doge cost cutting effort, one of the Doge engineers was fired for some inappropriate posts. The vice president says
[00:32:52] Unknown:
bring him back. What do you say? I don't know about the particular thing, but if the vice president said that, did you say that? I'm with the vice president. Thank you, Peter.
[00:33:03] Unknown:
Alright. So, car the the currently, federal, state, and and local governments spend about $857,000,000,000 billion. 8 50 7 billion with a b on on education from k through 12. And we are ranked dead last. Alright? Despite that, student test scores have continued to decline, continue to decline. And, the federal government's 190,000,000,000 in pandemic related school aid has failed to yield significant, academic improvements. So, you know, so of course, you you look at the amount of money that's being spent. You look at the, at the tax revenue that's that's going into the Department of Education. It's just another slush fund. That's all it is. That's all it is. It just goes to the unions, the teachers union. It goes to, the it goes to the lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, not just Democrats. I mean, you know, Republicans and Democrats the same.
You know, they're they're they're just, you know, two ends of the same animal, basically. And, there there is no there there's no clean hands on either side of the aisle at my point. So, of course, they're gonna they're gonna do everything in in their power to make sure that, that that that trough remains full for them. So that's where we stand with that. And then, just going on to, we were talking about USAID quite a bit. And, I don't know if you remember, but I mentioned, senator Joni Ernst, and she had been having some difficulties oops. Sorry. She had been having some difficulties with, with getting information out of USAID.
Do not call it USAID. That's not what it is. Okay? USAID. It's the, the Agency for International Development. Alright? That's what it is. Not aid. It's the Agency for International Development. Now, Joni Ernst has, she she's, recently called the, USAID a rogue bureaucracy after, after she was, after she was, like, she she was digging into this thing and she uncovered, partisan wasteful spending by the agency. Senator Ernst sent a letter to the secretary of state Marco Rubio on Friday to detail how USAID misled, lied, and deceived Americans by blocking her extensive efforts to get answers into how tax dollars were spent.
She said The US Agency For International Development And Trust with dispersing tens of billions of dollars of aid to other nations annually is a rogue bureaucracy. I've uncovered the agency often acts at odds with our nation's best interest and uses intimidation and shell gains to hide where the money is. The senator said that, basically, she said that after she after she was had repeatedly made requests, for a list of recipients of US tax dollars that were sent to Ukraine, she, she was based she was threatened with lawsuits.
She said that we learned that The U that the aid that was supposed to alleviate economic distress in the war torn nation was spent on such frivolous activities as sending Ukrainian models and designers on junkets to New York City, London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. She faced similar stonewalling after asking USAID about tax dollars being diverted from project missions for largely unrelated costs, known as negotiated indirect cost rate. And and the article just goes on, just citing all of these different examples. Ernst cited that more than $9,000,000 intended for civilian food and medical supplies in Syria ended up in the hands of violent terrorists.
Another 2,000,000 of your tax dollars, were spent promoting tourism to Lebanon, a nation that the state department actually warned you not to go to. The question we should be asking, isn't why USAID grants are being scrutinized, but why it took so long. And then you have, congressman Jamie Raskin. I I saw this earlier today. I don't have an article for it right now at the moment. But, Jamie Raskin actually, who sat on the board that oversaw, that act that oversaw USAID, and, sat on that board for for quite a while. Never noticed anything strange going on with the funding coming out of there.
Everything was all perfectly squeaky clean? Really? You think so? And, of course, he he's the biggest mouth. And then this is, you know, he's talking about filing a class action lawsuit, quote, on be on behalf of all Americans to stop, Elon Musk, president Trump, and Doge from doing their job in oversight over these, these agencies, particularly USAID. Well, first of all, I voted for President Trump. And through, the entire campaign, President Trump had made it very, very clear that, Elon Musk was going to be, integral in his in his administration to, to root out inefficiency.
He had he had talked about it, myself and over 70,000,000 Americans cast a vote for Donald Trump. In effect, can't casting a vote for Elon Musk as well, who's part of his his, his team, his transition team. So you're not filing a class action lawsuit on my on my behalf. I I I want this. Our country needs this. If this country's gonna survive as an American union much longer, we need these things to be taking place. So the the the idea that that, you're working on behalf of the American people. No, sir. You're working on behalf of yourself and your colleagues in Congress who had their hands dipped in the cookie jar.
That's what you're doing. So you're not doing me any favors. What I'd like you to do, sir, is just step out of the way. Just get the fuck out of the way. Excuse my language. Man, I'm gonna have to change my settings now on the podcast. Anyway anyway, how about this? Doge team finds FEMA sent $59,000,000 last week to New York City hotels for illegals. 59,000,000 of your tax dollars. Now I don't know about you, but, through the last administration, and up to this point in the current administration, you you can't expect, you know, the prices of of the necessities to go down instantly overnight. It took, it took some time for them to get to the the the extremely high level that they are now.
So I don't I'm not one of those people that blame Donald Trump that the price of eggs haven't come come down yet. But $59,000,000 of your tax dollars went to pay for luxury hotels for illegals. The Doge team just uncovered just discovered that FEMA sent $59,000,000 last week to luxury hotels in New York City, to house illegal migrants, Musk wrote on x early Monday morning. Musk explained, sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the president's executive order. That that money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals.
Now let now now now Elon Musk didn't say which hotels specifically received the the FEMA funding, but he did note that, a clawback demand we made today to recoup those funds. In December, a report revealed that New York City's Politician spent $220,000,000 in a sweetheart deal with Pakistan to lease the prestigious Roosevelt Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Now I know where that is, and I know the hotel. It's a beautiful place. But, but New York City Politicians struck a deal with Pakistan, for illegal housing, illegal illegal alien housing. Just think about that though for a second, folks.
New York City paid a foreign government to house illegals. That should be alarming to you. On x, one of the accounts, missus Nesbitt seventeen said, so let me get this straight. Places like North Carolina, Maui get a pittance because FEMA says they lack funds. So we have to send our military there to do the work that could be put into local economies. Meanwhile, FEMA blows its budget on housing illegal immigrants. While illegals have lived the American dream on tax paradigm, residents of Western North Carolina have only now begun receiving FEMA assistance amid the ongoing recovery from hurricane Helene.
And, do I have that? I don't know if I have that link, but that's okay. So, many of these folks in North Carolina had had limited to no FEMA assistance under the Biden Harris regime. All that changed when president Trump entered the White House on January 20. I if I'm not mistaken, they said that they that, in five days in five days, they were able to get 80% of the needs met. Five days. This is a message from Appalachia to California.
[00:43:56] Unknown:
Today is 01/10/2025. I'm gonna start this video out by saying that we're praying for California. We've had several people make the trip across coast to come volunteer here with us with, Valley Strong disaster relief. I'll be the very first to admit that before September 27, I would see a natural disaster. And I would think, oh, that that sucks. Then I would go on about my life. That's because I'd never been affected by it. My mindset has completely changed since hurricane Helene, and I'll spend the rest of my life being involved in some sort of storm relief and trying to pay back the hearts of the volunteers and to help the victims. This morning, I saw a post made by the leader of the free world.
He said that he was announcing that the federal government would cover 100% of the cost of measures to protect the lives and property in Southern California for the next six months. He told the governor and officials to spare no expense and do whatever they need to contain the fires and protect families. I hope that happens. I wouldn't wish what happened here on anybody, not even my worst enemy.
[00:45:18] Unknown:
Now in response to, to how things been going with FEMA, DHS secretary, Kristi Noem, said that we should get rid of FEMA the way it exists today. I agree with that. I I agree with that. I think I think FEMA should be dismantled, disbanded, defunded, shut down, never to be seen or heard from again. I firmly believe that states should be directly responsible for taking care of natural disasters and emergencies within their state. Now, that's not saying that the federal government can't or shouldn't provide federal funding to the state to handle the emergency if the state requests it. After all, the states do pay into the federal system and should be able to get some money out of it to help its citizens. Don't you agree?
So with that thought, I think that they're on the right track, and I think that that's what needs to happen. That's what needs to happen. We need to shut this thing down. Homeland Security secretary, Kristi Noem, said Sunday that, she supported getting rid of the Federal Emergency Management Agency the way it exists today. In an appearance on CNN's State of the Union, Noem's, stance appeared in line with what president Donald Trump and Elon Elon Musk, who have both suggested shutting down FEMA could be an option as the Department of Government Efficiency has has, reportedly gained access to FEMA's sensitive, disaster relief data to review its program. Can and should Donald Trump shut it down? Dana Bash asked Noam. He can, and I believe that he will do that of he will do that evaluation with his team, and he's talking about it, which I'm grateful for.
So, there she she went out to say that there's a lot of fraud, a lot of waste and abuse out there. And since president Trump has taken over and come back into this administration, we've seen incredible change. And, I was right about the number. 80, 80% of the open cases have been closed in five days under this administration in North Carolina. So huge, huge difference. Putting America First, putting Americans first. We still need the resources and the funds and the finances to go help people have types of disaster like hurricane Elaine, fires in California, but you need to let local officials make the decisions on how that is deployed so it can be deployed much quicker. And we don't need this bureaucracy that's picking and choosing winners. Man, I have so many more articles here that I wanted to get to, but I'm looking at the clock here. We're running out of time. I'm trying to keep it to about an hour. So, I think what we'll do let me just, touch on this really, really quickly here.
Border encounters plummeting under Trump. Under president Donald Trump, border patrol agents, encounters with illegal immigrants at the southern border have dropped by you ready for this? 92.9%. Ninety two point nine %. In the graph that the president shared on Truth Social, which if you don't have a Truth Social account, you need to get one. Anything that, Donald Trump sends out via social media always goes to Truth First, and, that's how you know that it's authentic. Alright? You go to Truth Social, get yourself an account there. You can follow us there too at Joe Ruse, by the way. In the graph that the the president shared on Truth Social, you can see that in the last nineteen days of the Biden administration, they averaged 2,087 daily encounters.
In the first week of president Trump's administration, that number was just 148. This shows us that not only not only is aggressive enforcement of our laws working to reduce number of illegals, it also deters more illegals from trying to gain entry to The United States. So I thought that was great news. Now, a year ago, a year ago, this is a flat we're gonna flashback here for a second. For a year ago, when, CBP apprehended, 10,000 illegal immigrants in one day.
[00:49:38] Unknown:
No. It's not stopping, Dana. The numbers are actually getting even worse. Multiple CBP sources telling me this morning in the last twenty four hours, border patrol alone has made more than 10,000 apprehensions of illegal immigrants. That does not even include CBP ports of entry, and you can see the situation here in Lukeville behind us. We got well over 800 people waiting in line here after they crossed illegally overnight, waiting to be apprehended by border patrol. Once again, it's like deja vu from yesterday. You can see these guys are coming in from all over the world. A lot of African men, mostly single adult men here. Some of them were setting campfires overnight in the cold, camping out here, waiting to get taken into custody by border patrol. But CBP sue source is telling me in the last twenty four hours in this Tucson, Arizona sector, there were almost 2,900 apprehensions, and the border patrol facilities out here are currently running 200% of their capacity. That is why there are so many people out here waiting to be taken into custody by border patrol. Now Arizona has a Democrat governor. Her name is Katie
[00:50:44] Unknown:
Alright. So the that that clip goes on for another two and a half minutes, so we're we're not gonna do that because we're we're pressed up for time. Let's see. Let me just read through these headlines. We got the border crossings. Let's see. Ex FBI director admits that Kash Patel, his confirmation vote has the deep state in a panic. This is, this is, former FBI FBI director Andrew McCabe. This is totally unprecedented.
[00:51:14] Unknown:
FBI rank and file agents and analysts who make up the vast majority of the field offices, who do the work in of investigating these cases, of executing search warrants, of executing arrest warrants, doing, surveillance, electronic surveillance, whatever might be. Those people are never touched by the political winds that blow through every four years, nor should they be. They as you said, they don't pick their work. They're assigned to the work that they do. The work they do is lawful. It's it's, within FBI policies, and not doing the work is not really an option for them. Right? They come to the FBI. The most of them come intending to stay for the entirety of their careers twenty years or more, twenty years on the agent side, a little bit more for the support side.
And so to be targeted in this way for termination potentially or retribution simply for doing their jobs on a major national security case is is incomprehensible to them or anybody that knows the organization. I've talked to more FBI people in the last four days than I did in the prior four years. As John has described it accurately, it is a place in utter disarray right now. People are worried about, how am I going to pay the bills? How am I gonna support my family if I lose? You know, if you're anywhere in the middle of that career, not close to retirement, if you get fired, you're done. That's the end of your reputation, your ability to get a new job.
You lose your pay. You lose your chance at a pension. You lose your health insurance. This is a moment of terror for these people. It is absolutely disgraceful that they are being put through this in the middle of some political gamesmanship or active retribution. They don't deserve to be treated this way. It's unlawful, and it's disgusting. And, John, Jennifer

What was it that, Joe Biden told all those, keys?
[00:53:10] Unknown:
Think about Elon Musk? Okay. You
[00:53:13] Unknown:
Sorry. Thought I shut that off. What was it that Joe Biden told the Keystone XL Pipeline guys that, lost their job when he shut down the pipeline on day one, learned to code. Yeah. Learned to code. Not sure what else I can tell you. Alright. And last really quick headline. I'm not gonna get into the article though, but, this is what I meant I mentioned earlier. Democrats spent an obscene amount of taxpayer money to create transgender animals through DEI grants. House Oversight and Accountability Committee member Nancy Mace has revealed that the Biden administration spent over $10,000,000 to alter nature by creating transgender animals.
Did you know that, The United States does more animal research, painful animal research than anywhere else in the world? Right here. Go to Wokespy. Look up, Democrats spend obscene amounts of money in taxpayer, to create trans transgender animals, and you'll see it right there for yourself. Alright. So what we're gonna do here is, we're gonna take our break. I need more coffee. And And then we're gonna go through, some of the, some some local quick Texas news, and then go into our, Texas, nationalist movement, Tex It FAQ of the Day. Alright, folks. So this is the podcast.
Stick with us. We'll be back right after this very and I mean, very, very short break. Alright. We'll be back.

Hey folks. Welcome back to the podcast. This is Joe Russo. I know we went a little bit long on all of the other issues that have, come about. But we are here, at, gonna take our moment of the texted fact of the week of the day. So let's take a quick look at that. It's a great song by the way.
[00:57:45] Unknown:
Alright.
[00:57:50] Unknown:
Good stuff. Alright. Let's bring it down. Alright. Let's see. So as you guys know, I am a member of the Texas Nationalist Movement. And you see right here behind me, our, beautiful Texas independence flag. Not necessarily a, a Texit thing, but, Texas independence. And that's what the Texas Nationalist Movement is all about. The Texas Nationalist Movement is an organization that seeks to have an independent, free Texas. And when we say independent Texas, we're talking about, Texas standing among the nations as a sovereign nation itself. Texas, as we've covered many times, in the last several weeks, Texas, should Texas leave the union, it become the eighth largest economy in the world. Not just here within the Continental United States. I'm talking about the world.
So, Texas has the ability to stand on its own. Texas will stand on its own. But what we've been doing for the last, several shows is we've been going through, from, the texitnow.org website. We've been going through the Texit facts. And, I'm going to go through one here in just a moment. And once we do that, we'll just talk really quickly about just a couple of quick little things that have to do with, the TNM and, we'll, then we'll wrap up the show. Alright. Let's see. So, what will happen to all of The US military bases after Texas?
Texit. What will happen to all The US military bases after Texit? Again, this is something that's post Texas. This is something that, that that, will happen after the, the state of Texas leaves these leaves the American Union, which, you know, we're praying is gonna be very soon. Because despite what's let me pause for a second. Despite what's going on right now in Washington with this turnaround economically, militarily, you know, strengthening the military, we're still leaving. Do we still plan on leaving? There are still there are 25 states that have, secession referendums working its way through the legislative process.
It's not just Texas, California, Vermont, New Hampshire, Louisiana, it's all over. It's all over. And, even to the even down to the the minutiae of just counties wanting to secede and separate from, an existing county or an existing region within their state and becoming part of another state. It's all over the place. It is a natural thing to have happen. There comes a point where it is just not feasible for a monstrosity like the federal system to keep it go to keep going. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with talking about secession.
I was trying to think of another word for it, but there is no better word. Secession. There's nothing wrong with it. There's a great book out there, by, by Livingston. Well, it's a series of essays, called, Rethinking the American Union for the twenty first Century. I highly recommend that you get that book if you can. The last time I went to look for it, it wasn't available anymore. But, if you can get it, get it. Read it. Excellent. Excellent book. Excellent book. And if you, and if you haven't read it yet, when you haven't gotten it yet, get Tex It by Daniel Miller, the president of the Texas Nationals Movement. Phenomenal book.
Very well researched. And then, Jason Frey's book, National Divorce, A Plan for Peace. Go back into the show's archives. We we we sat down with, with Daniel Miller and, Jason Frey. We talked about their books. We talked about Texit. We talked about national separation. We talked about all of these things. They are this is something that is it's an it's inevitable. It's going to happen. Hopefully, in my lifetime, hopefully, in your lifetime. But it's gonna happen, and we just have to be prepared for that. So that's why we've been talking about these things with Texas, so much, and that's why we've been doing it. Now, in disclosure, I am a member of the Texas Nationalist Movement. I am going through the training program right now to be the deputy county coordinator from Maverick County where I live.
And, I'm putting a call out there. If you're listening to this and you're within Maverick County and you are interested in becoming part of the Texas Nationalist Movement, reach out to me. Let me know. I would love to hear from you. You can go to our website, joeruciello.com/tnm. You can scan the QR codes that are on there. There's one for to become a supporter. There's one to become a member, and there's one to make a donation. Scan one of them. Let me know, and, we would love to be able to sit down and talk to you and, get you on board with this. If your heart is to stand free from this American Union, if your heart is to stand free and see a free and independent Texas take its place among the nations of the world, now is the time to do it. Don't sit on your hands anymore.
Let's do it. Somebody had commented, on one of my posts on, I think it was on X, if I'm not mistaken, that, you know, Texas, you know, wouldn't want to handle the southern border on its own. Well, excuse me. Who do you think has been securing the southern border? It's been Texas. The federal government abandoned it. Texas took over. Texas started securing the border despite the legal battles that it had to fight with the federal monstrosity. So, Texas can and will defend its own borders. That's a fact. That's a guarantee. Another military fact that you might not know. 40% of military personnel in the United States army, or military, I should say, are Texans.
Texans. So Texas will be just fine. Absolutely fine. And then, of course, the question about what happens to the military bases, you know. Well, well, let's go to the let's go to the fact. Texas is currently home to 15 military installations with an economic impact of around $150,000,000,000 however, the military installations account for only $14,000,000,000 of federal payroll spending in Texas. In addition, there are currently more than 118,000 Texans on active duty, status across all branches of the military. These are not insignificant, figures. However, it is important not to conflate the issues of military presence and political union.
The United States maintains nearly 800 military bases in more than 70 countries and territories abroad. No one would argue that those 70 countries are in any are in a political union with The United States due to the presence of a US military base, nor would anyone argue that they should be. The presence of these military bases on foreign soil is solely about shared defense concerns and security interests. It does not imply that any further political does not imply any further political connection. After a Texit, Texas may not share a government with the rest of The United States, but we will still share defense and national security concerns.
International military cooperation has been a cornerstone of US defense policy since the second World War. And while it has been suggested there should be some reforms, the underlying policy is unlikely to change, especially close to home. It is, therefore, highly probable that Texas would enter into a mutual defense pact with The United States that includes joint use and operation of existing military bases and facilities in Texas or their full transfer to the Texas Military Department, which, by the way, Texas already has. As part of it as part of any mutual defense pack, Texas will likely have a have the pledge to spend a set percentage of GDP in national defense, much like the reforms proposed for for for NATO. In In return, The United States would should guarantee the availability of military arms and equipment for tariff free purchase by manufacturers in The United States and vice versa.
Texas should stipulate that the Mutual Defense Pact should only extend to commonly agreed defense concerns. Any mutual defense pact of this nature could set a transition period where things essentially stay as they are now, operating under a joint command until such time as already established. Texas military forces are at full readiness. Alright? So that's a mouthful. That's a lot. So, basically, we would possibly go into some kind of an agreement just like, we go into agreements with Germany and Japan and, and and and 70 other countries around the world, to have a joint military operation or a joint military presence.
If not that, well, you know something. The military installations, here in Texas don't belong to The United States. They belong to Texas. They're leased to the Federal Government. So those installations would turn right back around to Texas if there was no agreement that had come through. So Texas so so Texas is is in a in a great position to take care of itself. You know, and it's a funny thing too how a lot of the objections to Texas leaving has to do with, you know, self defense and whatnot. But yet, you look at countries like Mauritania and these little island nations that are out there, that came into existence after the second World War.
There was never any doubt that they couldn't take care of themselves militarily or economically. There was never any doubt. Never. Not once. At least nothing that I'm aware of, that I've found in my research. So why can't Texas stand alone? It should. We will and hopefully, you'll be a part of that. Right now, if you have any questions whatsoever on Texas, you know, you're welcome to email me at info at, joerusiello dot com. That's [email protected]. And, I would love the opportunity to talk to you about it, especially if you, like I said earlier, if you want to become a supporter or a member of the organization. Alright. Let's, we are way over our well, not way but we're over our time. So, let's start to wrap this thing up. Alright? So, we don't have any birthdays or anything that we're going to announce today.
