Broadcasting from Eagle Pass, I kick off Bible Study Sunday a little under the weather but fired up to continue our dispensations series. After recapping our recent milestone pace and yesterday’s marathon broadcasting day, I dive into week three: the Dispensation of Conscience. We revisit the fall of Adam, the loss of his crowns, and how, absent a written law, God inscribed the law of conscience on the human heart. I walk through Romans 2 and Acts 17 to show how conscience guided right and wrong in the “times of ignorance,” and how God still made Himself known to seekers like Cain, Enoch, and Noah—later mirrored by Cornelius and the Ethiopian eunuch.
I explain why fig leaves symbolize human-made religion that can’t cover sin, the necessity of a bloody covering pictured in Genesis 3:21, and the difference between temporary Old Testament coverings and Christ’s once‑for‑all sacrifice. We contrast Abel’s acceptable offering with Cain’s works-based approach, unpack the principle “without shedding of blood there is no remission,” and explore Enoch as a type of the church raptured before judgment—foreshadowing tribulational events. We close with prayer, preview next week’s dive into the Dispensation of Law, and invite listeners to stay engaged as we continue building line upon line in this study.

Okay. As you may be able to slightly detect, I am not well. My voice is pretty shot here. And rough night last night, man. I I am sick as a dog, but we're here. We got bible study Sunday to do, and we're not gonna shirk our responsibilities for teaching and preaching the word of God here on our Sunday afternoon show. So, we're gonna get into it here shortly. Yesterday was a marathon show day. We did four hours, four, count them, four hours of live transmissions. Four hours. That's a that's a lot. It's a lot of work. It's a lot of talk. A lot of talk. In the first three hours, we had a great guest, Ruben Camarillo, from the Now You Know podcast here in Eagle Pass.
And, that was a lot of fun. I was, you know, looking forward to to to actually, it's the first time we really met face to face. We spoke on the phone, previous to our, getting together here at the studio and doing a show together, and I think it went really well. I really enjoyed, spending time with with Reuben, getting to know him, and I hope you guys did too. And for the folks that are, followers or as listeners, Reuben's show, welcome to the show here. I appreciate you tagging along and following up here, and then then hopefully, you're here with us on our bible study Sunday. And, we might learn something together today. Maybe. I hope so. That's the intention. Right?
That's always the intention. But, I'm gonna apologize now for my voice. It is shot not from the shows. I mean, that's fine. I mean, it it didn't help, you know. I was getting sick already. But this whatever I whatever crud this thing is that I got, it, it walloped me last night, like, big time. Remember, I don't know if you remember, I've been mentioned that, that after we did the second show, the crypto show with our resident crypto psychic, Marissa Lee, which I hope you were able to check that out too. That was a great show as well. A lot of really good information there, especially about stable coin, talking about PayPal, stock offerings from PayPal, talking about cold storage for your wallets, really incredibly important stuff that we covered yesterday, also dipped into the realm of geopolitics briefly, but, really a great show. And I I love doing the shows with, with Marissa. She's she's just fantastic.
And, and I just a great day, actually. It was just a great day. And then, of course, after we did that show, I went to help out a friend and, set up some, some new furniture that they purchased. And, I started I started crashing while I was doing that, and by the time I got back to my house from from, putting together the furniture, man, I was done. I was absolutely done. Done for the night. And, there was, like, just nothing I could do. I just I, I I just crashed out, man. But, but again, like I said, we are here. Pray for me as I'm going through this, and we got through this this study today. And, not only that, but I I not only did you hope you checked out the show, but I hope you had a good weekend at least. You know, I hope you guys had a lot of good quality time with your family and got to do some great stuff and and just relax and just take it easy. You know, we we transitioned from October into November already. Can you believe that? This year is almost over already, and we're coming up on the one year anniversary of this show, which will be November 25.
And, I just I can't believe we're we're at this is episode number one ninety eight. You know, by by the middle of next week, we'll be at we'll we'll be at episode 200, which is, to me, it's a it's a it's a great achievement for me anyway. I mean, maybe for somebody else who's been doing podcast for a while, maybe that's, yeah, no, no big deal, you know. But for me, it's it's an accomplishment, and 200 episodes coming up on is is is just amazing. You know, a lot of podcast, and I I've said this a few times before, I mean, it just bears repeating.
You know, most podcasts don't make it past 10 episodes. That's when usually they give up. Maybe they don't see any real traction. They don't see any views or listeners or or anything like that, and, you know, it's, it gets discouraging. It it does. But, you know, you just stick with it, you know, you you eventually you gotta build it. You gotta take your time. You gotta work with it. You gotta be consistent with it. And, you know, you gotta have good content. You gotta have you have things that people wanna talk about and they wanna know. So, you know, it took for us to be coming up on 200 episodes, again, like I said, where you know that most episode most podcast end by 10 episodes, and to me that's just great. And, I thank you, I thank everybody in the audience for their patience and, and and dealing with us as we've been going through this growing phase with the show and trying to, you know, get our footing here and figure out what the hell we're doing with this show. You know? Because remember, I started the show, just as in just as a with the intent of just, you know, recording an episode whenever, you know, whenever the mood struck.
And then that quickly changed from doing prerecorded episodes whenever to doing a couple of prerecorded shows during the week, and then it went to doing live shows during the week, and and then it went to now doing five to six shows a week, live shows. It's just it it it baffles me that that we're doing this and and that we can do it. It's it's just it's a it's a great thing. I love it. And I hope you guys are getting something out of it too. And, I mean, hopefully, you are. I mean, I'm seeing I'm watching our our our numbers are increasing every day, and that's great. And I appreciate that. And that's just a a wonderful testament, to, you know, when you when you dedicate yourself to something and you put yourself forward. You're like, I know it's not the greatest content in the world. I know that.
I know I'm not the greatest host in the world. I I understand that. I I have my mistakes, and I I do stupid things, and it happens, you know. Somebody once said that I have a voice that can put, that can that can that can put an insomniac to sleep. Well, I'm sure I'm sure I do sometimes, especially right now that I can't I can barely speak, you know. But we're here. We're doing we're doing it anyway. Because why? Because number one, it's important. The subject matter we're gonna talk about tonight is important especially. It's also important, for me because I enjoy doing this because I enjoy being with you guys. So it's it's always it's always a pleasure for me to do this, and and, you know, I hope you guys feel the same way. And tonight, today, well, we're gonna be moving into, we're gonna be moving along with our discussion we've had the last, two weeks. Remember, we we've did a series on wisdom, from the scriptures last week last week. I'm sorry. A couple weeks ago, we finished that up. It was a seven week jaunt through the book of Proverbs, and then we had a decision. We were gonna either go through the dispensations, or we're gonna go through the book of Revelation.
I asked you guys what you wanted to do, and, the, the response was to go through dispensations, which I agree with. I think that was a good choice, a good decision to make because if you don't understand the dispensations, you're not gonna understand things in the book of Revelation. That's my opinion. So, so that's why we started doing this series on the dispensations. Now now today, like I said, we're gonna we're gonna move along. We started the series two weeks ago. This is week number three. And, we're gonna be discussing what's called the dispensation of conscience.
Conscience. Now, and and I'm gonna give you just a very very brief review here on this, and, on the things that we've learned in the first, dispensation, the one of creation, the pre Adamic. That's really divided into two different parts. So we had an original creation in Genesis one one, and associated with the fall of Satan, who in pride lifted up his voice and heart against God. And there was this great catastrophic event that took place upon the earth earth, which which thrust the earth into a position of being in the darkness of the deep. Alright? And we read about that in Genesis, in Genesis chapter one. And then, what we read about in Genesis chapter one, verses three to 28 is essentially a recreation.
It's a recreation. It's divided into seven different days. And, of course, you know, we listed several different reasons why we believe those things to be true from the word of God. And then, of course, we moved into the next dispensation, which was the dispensation of innocence. That's what we did last week. In the dispensation of innocence, God created a quote unquote God man of sorts. Not exactly like Jesus Christ, of course, but he was a son of God, that the Bible says in Luke chapter three. And that man was Adam. And Adam was given two crowns. Remember that. Adam was given two crowns in the respect that he was given a physical dominion over the earth, and and and the inhabitants over the earth, and the creatures over the earth. And he was also also a spiritual being.
So he had so he had a certain dominion over spiritual things in the respect that he was a son of God. Well, what happened? Well, of course, Adam fell. Adam fell. Adam willfully disobeyed God, and he lost his crowns. What I'm drinking here today is, this is just green tea with, some lime and honey, to soothe the throat. Yeah. So Adam willfully disobeyed, and, and and he lost his crowns. The crown of the kingdom of God, that is a spiritual crown, went back to God, who gave it to the second Adam. And the second Adam wears it, and that's the Lord Jesus Christ. The crown of the kingdom of heaven reverted back by proxy, so to speak, to Lucifer, the God of this world.
So we're gonna see what happens next as we move into the next dispensation, that of conscience. Conscience. Alright. So we examine the fall a little bit of Adam, which of course leads us into this new dispensation. Now, if you remember, we said that a dispensation is a period of time in which God, is dealing in a very specific way with mankind. When God begins to deal in a different way, we see a change. And so we call that change a dispensation. Alright? Now, it it it's it's really obvious actually if if, you know, as you examine your bible, and even if you do it in a in a superficial kind of way, that God has not always worked with man in the same way.
Alright? He he hasn't. And and and and and in other words, there has there's been some really clear cut distinctions as far as God's relationship with mankind and and demonstrating divine principles and and and, and and truths to him. Alright? We learned that Adam was responsible back in the garden to have eternal life to simply do two things. In order for Adam to have eternal life, there were just two things that he needed to do. Number one, he had to obey God. He just had to do what God told him to do. And, you know, God didn't put very many restrictions on him. There really weren't a lot of requirements to it. God didn't infringe upon Adam all that much. He simply said, there's a tree out there that you can't eat of.
That's all he said, you know, I mean, shouldn't be too tough to be to be obedient to just one commandment, you know. I mean, you would think. Now of course, mankind has proven otherwise. Alright? Excuse me. Sorry, I couldn't I couldn't get to the the mute fast enough. So, like I said, of course, you know, mankind proves that otherwise. And he says that, you know, if if you want eternal life, eat of the tree of life. Alright? Now, we notice, and we said this last week, that that tree of life pops up again over in Revelation chapter 22. Now, when you think about it, you kinda get the idea that God's just, you know, going in a complete circle here, you know. And when he wrote his book, he put it all to a complete circle.
Alright? You almost get the idea that that God picks up in Revelation 22 where he left off in Genesis. You know, and, truthfully, if you if you get that idea, then you got the right idea. You've got the right God will continue his original plan of populating the heavens and the earth. You see, what we're operating in right now is is is basically just a seven thousand year parenthesis. You know, which if you think of if you really look at it, you examine it, it makes a lot of sense in light of current events. Alright. Now, we find Adam in a fallen state.
Okay? So here he is now, it's it's it's after the fall, he's in the fallen state, he is no longer the king of anything. He's been cast out of the garden, he's lost his crowns, he's lost his dominion over everything. The creatures that used to obey his commands, now they kinda lurk down, you know, behind every tree, and, you know, and and behind every rock, you know, just waiting for an opportunity to devour him. The ground that used to produce so bountifully, that used to grow continual, habitual harvest, the one that required so little tending, gave rise to thistles and and ragweed.
You know, and and, you know, there's a thousand other curses that that that you have in your garden. So so so so so God said to Adam God said to Adam, you know, you decided to sin, you fell into sin, now you're gonna earn your living by the sweat of your face. Alright. And I want you to notice that. He didn't say by the sweat of your brow, which is how the verse is usually quoted, and how a lot of the new modern bibles put it, by the sweat of your brow. What he actually said was, by the sweat of your face. By the sweat of your face.
So in other words, you know, God just doesn't want you to get a little damp up here on your forehead. You know, he wants you to work. And, so now Adam is in that position. He's in a he's in a down crested fallen position. Alright. Now before we get into the rest of the stuff, let's just do a little bit of housekeeping as we always do. Now, let's get back to our study here. Let's get a little tip of the sea. A little tip of the sea. Listen to me. Alright? A little sip of the tea. Alright. Now, so as I guess I guess we're I guess we can start off with, you know, you know, entering into this new dispensation of conscience. Alright? It's called conscience for a very good reason.
Because in that particular time period, there was no written law. There was no written law whatsoever. Man did not have the 10 commandments. Alright? He didn't have the Sinaitic law. He didn't have the Levitical law. He didn't have a written book. Adam didn't even have the book of Job yet, which was the first book ever written in the word of God. Adam didn't know anything about for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves. It is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. He didn't know anything about, but God commendeth his love toward us, and yet in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
He didn't know anything about, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Adam had none of that information. None of it. Now, we're we're gonna see momentarily, he may have known some of those things in type in type, but as far as all of the details, he just wasn't aware of those things. He didn't know about them. He wasn't aware of all the things that God required of him as far as the law was concerned in written form. But you see, God gave him another kind of law.
It's it's a law that God himself engraved upon the heart of Adam and every single one of his descendants. And that law is called the law of conscience. Conscience. And man, to this very day, has that law engraved upon his heart. You know you do. Now the Bible tells us, you know, sometimes man allows his conscience to be seared with a hot iron. So in other words, it becomes virtually calloused, you know, burned over to to so much to to the extent that that a man And and, you know, it's interesting that, you know, in the the context of the verse is is dealing with the false religion.
But man oftentimes allows religion to sear his conscience, where he literally becomes numb to I I guess that that that, that innate part of himself. That innate part that God placed within him to tell him right from wrong. To give him some direction that'll point him Godward. You know, many people today, everyone has a conscience. Everyone has a conscience. But there are some people you look at and say, man, he doesn't have one. I know so and so doesn't have one. Well, he's got one, but it might be seared over with a hot iron. That's the difference.
Alright? That's the difference. Alright. Now, back in these times, these were core called, according to Acts chapter 17, times of ignorance. That's that's God's Holy Spirit own opinion of that particular time. And and it's contrasted with, where where Luke is writing over in Acts chapter 17 with times that are now. We're told that this is the dispensation that God winked at. Look at the over in Acts chapter 17. Alright. So take your Bible. We're gonna go to the New Testament. Acts chapter 17. So you're gonna find your New Testament. You're gonna go to the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and then Acts chapter 17.
Acts chapter 17, and, we're gonna go to verse, 30. Acts chapter 17 verse 30. And the times of this ignorance God winked at, but now commanded all men everywhere to repent. So what ignorance is God talking about? What ignorance is God He's he's talking about the ignorance of the law. And then then of course, as we get further, you know, we'll we'll come to when to to when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the law, and we'll talk about that some more. But, you know, back in the in in in the age of conscience, the dispensation of conscience, we don't find any law back there, do we?
God had given man only one law, and that law is his conscience. And and therefore his conscience was a standard of of, of of human conduct. The conscience was the guide. It was the standard by which man accused or excused themselves. Take your bible and go over to Romans chapter two, Romans chapter two. We're gonna be looking at a couple of verses here in Romans chapter two. So Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and then Romans and chapter number two and verse 15. Chapter two no. No. I'm sorry. Verse 14. For verse 14. Luke chapter two and verse 14. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, These having not the law are a law unto themselves.
So Paul Paul here, he he he's speaking he's he's speaking to Jews here primarily, and of course, Christians. And he said he said, have you ever thought about this thing in this respect? Have you ever noticed that there there are, civilizations and and and and people out here that have absolutely no acquaintance with the 10 commandments or the old testament law whatsoever. And yet, there's an effort to obey those laws. And in fact, and in fact, the very judicial systems of the world are still essentially built on the 10 commandments. So before they were ever given, the judicial systems of the world were built on the 10 commandments. You see it in every society. You see it in every culture.
You see it where it's it's considered a crime to steal. Isn't that right? It's considered wrong to lie. It's considered wrong to murder. And then you you can go right on down the line. As a matter of fact, in many societies that have no acquaintance with the law, they put a greater premium on the 10 commandments than some societies that do have it. You know, you study Shem for a while. The Shemites, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Vietnamese, the Koreans, and so on. And they they and you see the great premium that they put on aspects of the law like honor thy father and thy mother, that in thy day that thy days may be long upon the land which the lord thy god giveth thee.
You know, how did man arrive at the conclusion that that was the right and proper way to live? If they didn't have a Bible, if they didn't have a law, if they didn't have anything to inform them about that whatsoever, how did man, universally speaking, generally generally arrive at the same conclusion as as far as judicial practices and governing their lives? I'm gonna tell you how. I'm gonna tell you actually, you know what? Better yet, the next verse, verse 15. Romans two verse 15, which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts, the meanwhile, accusing or else excusing one another.
God says that he gave every man a conscience. Every man has a conscience, and that conscience tells him the essential difference between right and wrong. Adam had a conscience. Adam didn't have a written law, but he certainly had a conscience, and that conscience dictated to him whether he was right or wrong. And do you know where Adam got his conscience? Or do you know when Adam got his conscience? I'll tell you exactly when he got his conscience. He got his conscience the very instant he took of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That's what it means to have a knowledge of good and evil, to have a conscience.
Isn't that right? Think about that. I mean, wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have a conscience? I mean, Adam and Eve, they were running around the garden, starving naked. Didn't bother them. You know why? They didn't have a conscience. That's why they didn't have a conscience until God gave them one. And do you know what people are trying to do today? People are trying to get rid of their conscience, but it won't work. It's not gonna work. You could try, you could try, and you could try, but it won't work. Your conscience will will dog your tracks right to the grave, but folks do try it. They work at it.
You know, if you wanna if you wanna make a million, seriously, if you wanna make a million, study your bible a little bit. I guarantee you, in about a year, I could be a millionaire. In about a year. Now, I'm not suggesting I would necessarily be in the will of God doing that, But, I'm just telling you, figure out a way to help a man get rid of his conscience. I I wouldn't want to really entertain the idea of doing it, to be honest with you, but figure out a way to help a man lose his conscience. He will pay countless, countless amounts of money to do that.
Do you know why psychologists and psychiatrists make so much money? Do you know why that there are people who will sit down with one of these people and then pay them a 175 to $250 an hour to talk to them? Because those guys help people get rid of their conscience. They do. They'll say, well, here's your problem. You were raised with some old fashioned puritanical standards in your home, and you've got to get rid of those things. And once you've relieved yourself to those puritanical antiquated standards, you'll be able to live free and happy.
You know what dude, why don't you just say it like it is? Once you get rid of your conscience, you can do your own thing, and it won't bother you. It won't bug you. There's just one problem with that, friends. There's just one problem with that. You're not going to get rid of it. You're not. It's gonna keep dogging your tracks, and dogging your tracks, and dogging your tracks. That's the way it works. And do you know why? That's like getting rid of your heart. I mean, if you wanna try to cut it out, help yourself, you know, do you, do your thing. I don't recommend it, but do it.
Well, God said, there it is. That's what ruled Adam. That's what ruled Adam. Now being without the law, there was there was really no legal standard for sin, Because Romans chapter three and verse 20 says that the law is the knowledge of sin. In other words, the law, the commandments, are the very thing that brings me to a full fledged acquaintance with sin, and the definitions of sin, and what it all is. But the Bible goes on to say that they were without excuse. They were without excuse. Even though they still had no written law, they were still without excuse. Well, why is that?
Why is that? Well, number one, they had a conscience that God gave them. And number two, God made a very visible effort to be close to mankind in those days. God revealed things to people in a very personal way in those days, in a way that he just doesn't do it today. Because he doesn't have to do it. And why doesn't he have to do it? That's what makes me laugh. People say, well, I want God to come and give me a sign. He doesn't have to give you a sign. Why? Because he's given you a written law. He's given us a book that we can read and we can understand. And so, they're still without excuse.
I mean, his voice was heard and and rebuked to Cain. God spoke to Cain, and rebuked him for the wrong kind of sacrifice. So Cain knew even without the law. God communed with Enoch, didn't he? He talked with him. He walked with God. The Lord took him, and he was not. The Lord made himself known. He communed with Noah over in Genesis chapter six, and he counseled him. So, what we see developing here in this age of conscience is this, God made himself aware to men that were the least bit interested in receiving anything from God. Now to a great degree that principle, you know, really does cross every dispensational boundary, and that leads us to the question that people ask when they oftentimes ask. And usually when they ask it, to be honest, it it's not because it's a sincere, you know, conscientious question.
Usually when they ask you this question, it's it's to kinda throw you off track. You know, it's it's to give you kinda like, you know, to give you like a boomerang, to give you a hard time, you know, to just to throw a curve ball at you, you know? And the question is this, you know, you folks say that you have to call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. Isn't that right? Well, yes. That's right. You folks say that you have to have faith and trust in Jesus Christ to go to heaven. Isn't that right? Well, yes. That's right. You say you've gotta know that Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed his blood for the remission of sin. Right?
Yeah. That's right. And you say that you have to receive him and him alone and repent of all your sin and religion and tradition and anything else you've been clinging to for salvation, and trust Jesus Christ exclusively for your salvation. Isn't that right? Yes. That's right. Well then, that being the case, are you trying to tell me that millions of heathens scattered around the world who'd never heard the gospel are gonna go to hell? That's the old curve ball. That's the old curve ball. I'm sure you've heard that. If you spent any time out there witnessing, giving the gospel, talking to somebody about the Lord Jesus Christ, you've heard it.
You've heard it. You cannot witness three days without getting that one. Alright. Well, what's the answer then? What's the answer? What's the answer? God gave Adam a conscience. And when we cross dispensational boundaries, we don't see a conscience ever leaving. It stays. It remains with man until this very day. You have a conscience, and you know you do. That conscience is what Cornelius had in Acts chapter 10. Cornelius knew that there was something more than what he had. He was a good man. He was a moral man, but he was a lost man. And he knew that there was something more than what he had a handle on, and he prayed. And and, he prayed something like this. He said, God, whoever you are, whatever you are, wherever you are, if you are, I'd sure like to know more about you.
You know what? That's that's an honest legitimate prayer. And so the Lord said, alright. Well, there's a guy that that wants some information, and it's my responsibility now to get him to him. And I believe that no matter who a person is, wherever he lives, or what geographical boundaries surround him, whether it's whether it's, an iron curtain, or a bamboo curtain, or any other kind of curtain. If he's a man like Cornelius and says, God, whoever you are, wherever you are, if you, in fact, exist, I'd like to know more about you. It becomes God's responsibility to get that message of light to that man.
That's why God tapped Peter and said, I want you to go down there and talk to this guy. Peter said, okay, Lord, and he went. And that man got saved, and then his whole household got saved. And then there was another man over in Acts chapter eight, and he was an Ethiopian. He was an Ethiopian eunuch. He traveled a long way searching for God. All the way from Ethiopia to Jerusalem in a chariot. Now I don't know if you ever studied that or not, but that's a long, hot, dry trip. You know, back in those days, all on the Gaza Strip, where he was running up and down on his chariot, you know, they didn't have buggies, you know, or Pilate, or all the rest of that stuff.
This guy was genuinely searching, looking for an answer. He got up to Jerusalem, and he got a hold of a Bible. And I I mean, of course, all they had in those days was the Old Testament, but he got a hold of what was available to him. And he was in his chariot riding home, and he was reading it. He was reading of all places, Isaiah chapter 53, which is a chapter that prophesies the Lord Jesus Christ and his death for our sins. And And then the Lord tapped another guy on the shoulder named Philip, and he said, Philip, I want you to go over there, and I want you to talk to that guy out there in the desert. And you know what he did?
He called Philip out of a great revival. You know, where where folks were getting saved, where wonderful things were happening. He said, I want you to go out in the middle of the wilderness. You know, one day, God may tap some of you on the shoulder and say, I want you to go out in the middle of the wilderness. And you're gonna say, man, I don't wanna go out in the middle of the wilderness. You know, I'm right here. I'm right here. I'm in the middle of, in the middle of God's blessings. I I I don't wanna go out to the wilderness. Do you know why God does that?
Do you know do you know why God He does that because God knows there's an Ethiopian eunuch. There's a Cornelius out there somewhere. God says, hey, it becomes my responsibility to get that message to him. So every single man has the same opportunity. You know, God's an equal opportunity employer. You know? God's color blind. God doesn't see color of skin. As a matter of fact, the first Gentile that got the message in the New Testament of Jesus Christ was a black guy. The first Gentile, Acts chapter eight. The second Gentile to get the message was an Italian. The third Gentile to get the message is a Mexican. Yeah. I don't know that.
I don't know that, but I do. For sure. You just haven't found it yet. But it's in there. Just keep looking. Okay? Well, the the principles which govern God's ministration of those times of ignorance would not necessarily be appropriate in the days of Moses, for example, or in the dispensation of grace. And so, you know, we we we see the necessity of understanding dispensational truth. Alright. Now, salvation then was to do what? Alright. Well, number one is to obey available light. Whatever light god gave man, he was responsible to obey it. God gave Adam a certain amount of light. God gave Abel a certain amount of light.
And strangely enough, god gave Cain an equal amount of light, didn't he? And he received the light, and he obeyed it. And Cain rejected the light and refused it. But they both received an equitable amount of light. Noah was given information. He obeyed it. Enoch was given information. He obeyed it. On top of that, throughout this dispensation of conscience, we see it infiltrated with preachers of righteousness. Noah was one. Enoch was one. They had to obey the available light. And then secondly, there there there's there's a sin covering bloody sacrifice that immediately enters into this dispensation. Go with me over to to, Genesis chapter three.
Genesis chapter three, and we're gonna go to verse 21. Unto Adam also, and to his wife, did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothe them. Now, Adam had a conscience the minute that he fell. Do you know why I know that Adam had a conscience? Do you know how I know that? Because the Bible says that they looked upon one another and realized that they were naked. And then what'd they do? They they went crashing off to the nearest fig tree, and fashioned themselves aprons out of fig leaves. If they didn't have a conscience, why did they do that?
They got a conscience immediately, and that conscience began to work on them, prod them, motivate them to do certain things. And by by the way, you know, it's interesting. It's an interesting thought when when when you kinda when when you when you kinda follow that thing through the light of scripture. They got themselves some fig leaves and decided to cover themselves up. You know, fig leaves in your bible are a picture of man's futile effort in the realm of religion. Right? You see Jesus walking by a fig tree and he cursed it, because it was an unproductive fig tree.
It was a picture of religion. It was a picture of the unproductive false religion of Israel at that particular time. Now, man clothes himself by the effort of his own hands with what? Fig leaves. Folks, you'll never cover your sins with the effort of your own hands. It just it's not gonna work. It's not gonna work. Even though there are a lot of people out there today trying to do that very thing. A lot of people are really are intent on accomplishing that in their heart, in their mind. You know, that they got this this big fig leaf of church membership hanging on there.
They got the fig leaf of of of of baptism hanging over there. You know, they got they got the the the fig leaf of of good works hanging on there. They got the fig leaf of this. They got the fig leaf of that. They got all of these fig leaves, and you know what God did? You know what God did? God rejected the fig leaves. God said, yeah. You're naked. You realize it. You now have a conscience, and what I wanna do is I wanna give you something to cover you up that I can accept. God can't accept fig leaves. Fig leaves are totally unacceptable to God.
Your works, your efforts are totally unacceptable to God. That's why the Bible puts an emphasis on the blood. That's why there's such an emphasis on the blood. And so, what happened? God killed some animals, and he clothed Adam, and innocent blood had to be shed so that he could be covered up. Which of course, you know, brings us to another point that that we'll see throughout the Old Testament, even under this the dispensation of the law, and that's this, up until the time of Christ, up until the time of Christ, your sins are never completely atoned for.
They're not atoned for. They're covered. They're just covered, and and there's a difference. There's a difference between a complete atonement and a covering. And do you know what that is? Do you know why that is? There's only one lamb that is totally acceptable to God for the remission of your sins, and that's Jesus Christ. In fact, in the book of Hebrews, the book of Hebrews says, the blood of bulls and goats are not sufficient. It's not sufficient. It it it just won't get it done. At best, all it does is provide a temporary covering. That's why that's why the high priest, under the law, had to go into the tabernacle, and lay to their temple every year.
If it was a permanent sacrifice, he'd only have to do it one time, but that wasn't acceptable. It had to be repeated time after time after time. So it was only a covering. It was temporary. It was temporary until Jesus Christ, the lamb of God, arrived on the scene and provided a permanent sacrifice. Now, conversely, if if if you think about it momentarily, and the book of Hebrews really does address itself to this problem. Some people some people try to take that and turn it around and say this, well, you know, we have to continually seek God's forgiveness. Well, that's a half truth.
That's a half truth. We don't continually seek God's forgiveness to be saved. There's a difference. You see what I'm saying? There's a difference. There are folks that say, you know, we've got to participate in some religious ceremony to ensure our salvation on a on a repetitious continual base basis. And you know, the book of Hebrews tells us that that's blasphemy. That's blasphemy. There are some people that come to a communion table and say, this is the blood of Jesus Christ, and then they drink that down. This is the body of Christ, and then they eat it.
Did you ever think? Did you ever consider the blasphemy of that statement? Now your theological word of the day here is transubstantiation. Alright? That's what they call that. Theologians call that I'm saving you time for bible school. Alright? Theologians, I'm saving you a lot of money for bible school too. Theologians call that transubstantiation. And what that means is that, the priest somehow has the power and authority, to change the elements of the communion, or or or to transform the elements of the communion into the literal body and blood of Christ. Now think about that.
Now just just consider that for a second. If that's true, where does the body and blood of Christ end up? In the sewer system. In the sewer system. That's where. Now, of course, that's not true. When Jesus died on the cross, he said it was he said, and he he was absolutely correct. It is finished. And he ascended into heaven, and he sat down at the right hand of God and became our high priest making intercession for us. And his sacrifice was a one time sacrifice, an all sufficient sacrifice, an eternal sacrifice. Those old testament folks didn't know anything about this sacrifice.
What they had what they had at best was a temporary covering. That's why that's why you see sacrifices throughout the entire old testament even even prior to the tabernacle and and and all that business over and over and over and over again. So there's a bloody sacrifice. A bloody sacrifice, and we see that characterized in the provision for Adam. We also see that characterized excuse me. We also see that characterized with what happened with Cain and Abel. The Bible says that Abel brought a firstling of the flock, and he slaughtered that firstling, and he gave it to God, and God accepted the sacrifice.
It was a sweet smelling savor to God. He accepted it. And even though the Bible doesn't say, no doubt in my mind that the way he accepted it was the same way that that he showed his approval to the proper sacrifice over in first Kings chapter 18. Do you remember that? Do you remember first Kings chapter 18? Where Elijah was up on the mountain opposing the 450 prophets of Baal. How did God respond there? He responded with fire from heaven, didn't he? God sent down fire and consumed the whole sacrifice. And then there's Cain over there. Cain was a farmer, and Cain brought a a very acceptable sacrifice.
Did you ever study that? Did you ever really look at that? What it says is is Abel brought a more acceptable sacrifice. Hebrews chapter 11. Well, if I understand English correctly, that means that Cain's sacrifice was acceptable. Just wasn't acceptable enough. Abel's was more acceptable. Alright. So what you're talking about? So in other words, Cain brought a very nice sacrifice. It looked nice. It was pretty. He brought the best carrots of his garden. He had he has carrots lined up there. He had his onions lined up there. He had his tomatoes, his, you know, those beautiful vine ripe tomatoes. You know, he has cucumbers. He had his leeks and his garlics, and and and and all that stuff just lined up out there.
All of it just lined up out there. First class stuff. And of course, he had his turnips, you know. Did you ever hear this did you ever hear the the the the saying, you know, you can't get blood out of a turnip? You know, as hard as Kane tried, he just could not get any blood out of that turnip. He just couldn't do it. He couldn't do it. He squeezed it. He pounded it. He he he jumped on it. He he he he he could not get blood out of that turnip. You can't get blood out of a turnip. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission. And that statement over in Hebrews chapter nine verse 22 finds itself in its context, confined to one particular dispensation.
And and not everyone, But the principle seems to to apply throughout all of the Bible. So what we see is salvation provided by a sin covering. Salvation provided by a sin covering bloody sacrifice and sacrifice and obeying the available light. It's very simple. Very simple. God gives man a conscience. Now during this particular dispensation, there there there's a guy there who is who's something kind of special. Alright? Now, he walked with God, and his name was Enoch. And you read about him over in Genesis chapter five. And he was one of two guys in the Old Testament that were raptured. So, in other words, he didn't have to die.
Now, Enoch is really an interesting character to study. We don't really have a lot of information about him in the Bible, but we have enough to show us some things. Alright? And and and and then who was the other guy? Who was that other guy? I said there were two. Right? Enoch and who's the other guy? Elijah. Elijah. He didn't have to die either. But you see someday he's going to die. The bible teaches us that Moses and Elijah are gonna come back in the tribulation as the two witnesses in Revelation chapter 11. And Elijah is gonna be killed by the antichrist in the tribulation, and he's gonna be resurrected.
So as you go back through that thing that there there's that there's only one guy in all history, just one guy in all of history that doesn't have to die, and that's Enoch. Think about that. One guy in all of history, as you go all the way back through, only one guy in all of history doesn't have to die, and that's Enoch. Now, when Enoch is living, he's living in a dispensation of grace. Yeah. For sure, it's a dispensation of conscience, but it's before the law. It's before the law. So it's it's not exactly the same kind of grace that you and I have. We're operating under the umbrella of finished grace.
Alright? But nonetheless, it was the closest thing to grace that you could find on the other side of Calvary. So here's this guy, he's operating the dispensation of grace, that walks with God, and God says, come on home. I'm gonna cheat the undertaker. You know something? I have a feeling I'm gonna do the same thing. I got a good notion I'm gonna do the same thing. I I mean, I sure hope to, you know. I'm just not as, I'm just as soon not to want to pay these guys anything, you know. I mean, I'm not gonna be paying anything anyway, you know. Somebody else is gonna have to fork it out for me because, you know, I'll be I'll be gone. I'll be dead. And I I referenced over here because around the corner from me, there's a cemetery. So it's about the undertakers.
I plan to cheat the undertaker. I do. I'm sorry. Alright. Now now there's a fella out there named Emoq. And I and I want you to think about this, you know, just for a minute. Just think about this. I want you to see the type that God is already starting to lay down. Alright? God raptures him, takes him home. He's living in a dispensation of grace, and God takes him home just prior just prior to a catastrophic judgment. Just prior to a catastrophic judgment. Now, you open up your Bible, you go to Revelation chapter four, and you start reading about a door that opens in heaven. And God says, come up hither. And then what? Some what happens? Something goes up. Right? After that, you begin to read about some of these catastrophic judgments that are gonna take place upon the face of the earth.
And God unfolds a great tribulation that that's folks, it's right around the corner. He talks about that tribulation in many, many passages in the word of God. It occupies a great, importance. It a great significance and a great deal of space in the word of God. God wants us to know that a great tribulation is coming. He talks about the famine. He talks about wars. He talks about the disease. He talks about the earthquakes. He talks about water turning to blood. He talks about the plagues. He talks about all kinds of hideous things. He talks about, one third of the population of the Earth, then another third being wiped out, exterminated, eliminated during this great catastrophic judgment.
Another interesting thing has taken place, they tell us. I mean, if you're not getting the type, you know, I'm gonna draw it closer for you in just a minute. But, you know, I I've read a number of books, and and and most of those books come to the same conclusion on the subject, and that's this. That even though Adam was in a fallen state, his his physical and mental prowess was was far superior to to to that of yours and mine. Even though he was in a fallen state, that's because he was just once removed from being in a perfect condition. Now, you and I, of course, were were many times removed, as opposed to what and, you know, as opposed to what Charles Darwin says, you know, you know, we're getting better, you know, upward, onward, you know. It ain't working that way, and it isn't either. We're going downhill.
This thing just collapses and decays and falls apart, and just doesn't last very long. And this thing I'm talking about is this the flesh. All of this. And you know, Adam and and, you know, his immediate descendants, you know, they lived over nine hundred years a piece. I mean, that's that's pretty healthy. You don't have to live nine hundred years, but what we see is that man quickly degenerates. Man quickly falls apart. And by the time we get to the age where we are, man is doing good to get his three score and 10. That's 70.
He's doing good if he gets that much. They tell us that realizing Adam and and and and his immediate descendants were such physical specimens that even though we're dealing with a limited number of years, I I think I think what was it? I think it's like sixteen maybe seventeen hundred years from the fall, or fifteen hundred years from the fall to the flood. And, and this dispensation of conscience lasts a little over sixteen hundred years. You know, realizing the physical capabilities as described in the bible of man in that day, do you realize what the potential and and very conceivable? And and in fact, the the the probable population of the Earth was at the time of the flood?
You know, just by some strange coincidence, by some strange coincidence, the people that have taken the time to figure all that stuff out, all of those statistics, and I'm not a mathematician, But the folks that tell us, most interestingly, that the folks that tell us are, and that most interestingly, that the population of the Earth at the time of the flood was approximately the same as it is today. Just a coincidence, of course, you know. Isn't that interesting? And then God sends a flood and wipes the whole mess out. Now I'm not gonna take time and get into the scientific evidence of the flood, you know, I have a sermon that I preach on it. Sometime, maybe I'll do it one day.
But this is a universal flood. It's it's it's a it's not a localized flood that we're talking about. You know, it it it isn't some myth that said some Indians imagined. This was the real deal, just like God said it to be. You know, and and there were all kinds of reasons, you know, scientific reasons why God could have accommodated the animal life, all the animal animal life in the world on on an ark. Most people say God couldn't have done that. He could have done anything like that. It's impossible. I mean, good night, are you trying to tell me that that God got all the animals in the world on one boat?
Well, number one, God didn't get all the animals on one boat. Alright. He got a sample of all the animals of the world on one boat. And number two, most people don't most of the people that say that don't know how big the boat was. Do do you know that the boat was approximately the same size as a modern day aircraft carrier? And do you know how big a modern day aircraft carrier is? Do you know how many men are on an aircraft carrier? The USS Ronald Reagan, for example. They they can put 6,000 men on that boat. That's a city.
That's a floating city out there. 6,000 men. You you you can't imagine all the stuff that they could put on that thing. And do you realize that 7070% of all things on the face of living on the face of this earth live in the water? Fish or fish related type creatures. 70% of all living things are in the water. Well, guess what? They didn't need a boat. Did you know that 20% of all living things on the face of the Earth are insects? And even though they needed a boat, well, they don't take up much space. Not even a cockroach takes up that much room. I wish they would have left the cockroaches behind, but 10% of all living things are what we call mammals.
And the world's largest mammal, a whale, doesn't need a boat. Do you know that if you took all of the animals in the world, dogs, cats, elephants, hippos, giraffes, lions, tigers, bears, oh my. All of the species of animals in the world and average them. Do you know what the average size of all the species of the world is? The average size is that of an ordinary house cat. How did Noah get all the animals on the boat? Why don't you go back to school, dummy? As a matter of fact, Noah got all the animals on one floor of the boat.
The ark was it was a three deck job, man. You know, all the animals on one deck, all the food on one deck, and he and his family lived on the third deck, And he had room to spare. No question about it. Stick with your bible folks. Stick with your bible. I mean, if you're really interested in this kind of stuff, there there's a there's a few good books out there. One is called The Flood by by a guy named Rywinkel. Excellent book. Fantastic book. I have it as on my bookshelf. Excellent book. So, so there are resources out there you could you could study that will give you the the truth.
Alright. So so just prior to this catastrophic event, God said, hey, I'm gonna call a guy home. And he takes Enoch home. He raptures him. And Enoch never has to come back. That's why, that's why Enoch cannot be one of the two witnesses. You hear that a lot. You know, the the two witnesses is, Moses and Enoch. No, it's not. It's it's it's not Enoch. Because he's a type and he's a picture of the church. That's why. Somebody is gonna cheat the undertaker just prior to a great catastrophic calamity that's coming upon the earth. As a matter of fact, I think there's there's gonna be several million that are gonna cheat the undertaker.
Now, I don't know if you are, but I am. I'm planning on it. So we have a rapture in an age of grace. A trump of God saying, come up hither. Praise the Lord, and amen. Amen and amen. Our heavenly father, we wanna thank you for today. We wanna thank you, Lord, for the study here on the dispensation of conscience. Father, I pray that you would just, use the information that we presented here today in a in a strong and powerful way in the in the hearts and minds of those that have been listening and watching. And, God, I pray that, that that you would speak to their hearts and and, Lord, show them the truth. Lord, if there's any that are seeking the truth, Lord, I pray that you would provide the truth to them. And, Father, we just ask this and we praise you and bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen. Amen.
