In this episode of The Joe Rooz Show, Joe proudly shares his involvement with the Texas Nationalist Movement and congratulates Aaron Valdez on his recent mayoral election victory in Eagle Pass. Joe also reflects on past podcast experiences and introduces a possible new segment for Sundays, focusing on Bible study and spiritual discussions, inspired by a recent interview with Dr. Bob Theil.
Joe delves into a Bible study session, emphasizing the importance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ in Christian faith. He explores the concept of salvation, the eternal nature of the soul, and the significance of the resurrection in overcoming corruption and achieving eternal life. Joe encourages listeners to reflect on their spiritual journey and offers guidance on how to embrace salvation. He concludes with a call to action for listeners to engage with the show, support its mission, and consider the value of spiritual growth and independence.

Well, hey there, folks. This is Joe Roos, and we are coming to you live on a beautiful Sunday afternoon here in Eagle Pass, Texas, broadcasting from the pimple on the backside of Texas live at the Asylum Studios and bringing the best possible talk radio we could bring you without all the bluster. This is the Joe Rouge Show. All right. Well, welcome to our second, I think, Sunday show. I think we did a couple of Sunday shows, actually. It's maybe our third. Not sure. Does it really matter, though? We're here. It's Sunday. It is one hundred and five degrees outside here in Eagle Pass. We are under a water alert.
That's what happens when you live in the desert, folks. But, we are under water alert, so, you know, be careful watering your lawns. Take short showers or double up. Whatever floats your boat, right? Alright. I can't believe I said that given the topic of today. Oh my goodness. Alright. But that's alright. Totally fine. We are good. We are doing just well. Alright. So, again, Sunday. We're here live as always at the asylum. And, if you're wondering what the asylum is, that is where I live. I live in the asylum. So things are crazy here all the time, and, you know, but we somehow make it work, don't we? We do.
Alright. So what are we doing here on a Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening, especially at 6PM central time, which, by the way, is gonna be changing very soon. Governor Abbott, is, gonna be signing off on legislation from the Texas house that is, going to officially change Texas from the time changes or keep Texas from having to do the time changes twice a year. And, so we're gonna stay on I I think it's gonna stay on central time, but we're actually even changing the name of that. It's gonna be called Texas Time. So just another step in the direction of a free and independent Texas.
So gotta keep working at it. Gotta keep working at it. I know I haven't mentioned this in a in quite a while, but, folks, as you know, or you may have heard me say it, I am a member of probably one of the best organizations around the country, that, is involved with Texas well, or actually, a state sovereignty or a state independence, political action committee, and that is the Texas Nationalist Movement. I'm a very proud member of that organization. They made incredible strides in seeing the state of Texas becoming a free and independent nation once again, and once again taking its place among the the free nations of the world.
And, so things are moving in that direction. The, Texas state legislature has officially, finished their work, for this session, and, unfortunately, not much was done, because of the corrupt, speaker of the Texas house, mister Burrows, and, it it just all of the nonsense that took place, not hearing or not not allowing bills to be read, by the conservatives in the Texas House, it's just a mess. And, I am hoping though that we will have Brian Harrison representative Brian Harrison from the Texas State Legislature on the show very soon to talk about some of the things that had taken place, this particular session.
And then, I got a few other surprises coming down the road in in that regard. Also, I wanna say congratulations to our mayor elect, Aaron Valdez. Congratulations, sir. A well fought campaign, a well fought, well earned victory yesterday. Believe it or not, won by 13 votes. 13 votes was the difference. And, we have Aaron Valdez as our mayor elect here in the city of Eagle Pass. I already reached out to him, and we're gonna set something up. He's gonna come on the show, and we're gonna we're gonna have a chat, talk about some of the things that'll be coming down the pipe, with his new administration. So really looking forward to that, so make sure you check us out and stay tuned to that, make sure you check us out on all of our social medias, to to find out updates on that, and, we look forward to, to having him here. Alright. So now today, what are we doing today on a Sunday? Well, there was so much stuff going on in the news, but that's not what we're gonna talk about today. Alright?
I told you last week that, we're gonna kinda take a a a trip back to one of the podcasts that I did, several several year come on. Well, I finished it in November. The yeah. November. And, we're actually October. And, that's when I that's when we started and launched this show under a different name, and we slowly changed it, so barely noticeable. But, that's when so we when we started this one, I I I put the other one aside. And, but, a couple of weeks ago, I interviewed, doctor doctor Bob Teal, and, you know, it kinda it kinda sparked an interest in me to kinda, and I don't I'm not no pun intended on this one, but to basically resurrect certain aspects of the old podcast. So what I'm thinking of doing, and we're trying it out today for the first time, is we're gonna have, one show, even though we do mostly politics, all week long, and, even though we mostly, you know, we have a lot of guests and we have a lot we actually have a lot of guests that we're we're working with right now to bring on the show. So, and that that reminds me, we'll talk about what happened on Friday, in a second. But, we, so so in hearkening back to the days of the old show, on Sundays, we're gonna do a, a bible study or a, or a sermon Sunday type show.
And, we're gonna do that today, and we're gonna get to that here in, just a few moments. Also, just wanted to comment on our, on what happened on Friday with our the guest that we had lined up, Victor Gitchen. Well, I'm not sure well, let me say I'm not totally sure as to the the the reason behind it, but, while he was in the waiting room, he canceled the interview. So that's why he popped up in the waiting room, and we were gonna we went to bring him on, and he wasn't there. When I went into the, the chat that we have, for the hosts, it showed that he had canceled the interview. So not sure what happened or why, but that's why he wasn't on the show. And, you know, but disappointing, very disappointing.
Honestly, I think it's very unprofessional, to do something like that, especially on a live show. I know he records his, so, you know, he can play games like that, but we don't do that here. So, we do everything live. So, hopefully, you know, I wish him well. I wish him the best, and, I will not be extending another invitation. And if he does reach out, we will not accept, any any interviews with with him. Again, extremely unprofessional and just unappreciated. So and just, you know, I'm just happy that we had a a, you know, a second hour of the show, so I had material prepared already to, to go over for that, you know, for the remainder of the show. Otherwise, it would have been extremely awkward having to cut the show off at that point, not having anything else to go on. But that's okay. We're moving on from that, and we are going to, continue on booking guests and getting them on here. And I hope you've enjoyed some of the guests that we've had so far, and, you know, we're just gonna keep on plowing ahead here.
Alright. Well, as you guys know, I am, you know, in addition to a, a a political junkie, I am also a blood bought, born again, King James Bible believing Christian. And, we've had several guests on the show that we talked about that with. And, you know, so again, hearkening back to the days of the old show, I wanna do these bible studies, on Sundays. So, as we go through it, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop them into the chat or into the comment section down below, and we'll address them as soon as you possibly can. And also let us know if you want us to continue on, doing these types of shows on a Sunday.
And, you know, you can email me directly at [email protected], or you could help over to our website, joeroos.com, and open up the web form. Send us over your comment, through the web form. Either way is fine. Also, since you have the web form open or the email, just let us know whatever's on your heart, whatever's on your mind. Any questions, comments, cares, or concerns that you might have, any issues, any guests that you'd like us try like to us to try to get. And, again, the mouth, you know, the brain goes faster than the mouth. We'll do the very best we can to bring those guests on. Alright? And also, don't forget while you're on the website to check out our support page. This is a value for value show. So what that basically means is that if you're receiving anything of value from what we're doing here with the show, we're asking that you, return that value in the form of a donation, and you could do that in any number of ways. You can donate your time, your talent, or your treasure. You could also donate financially.
That would be the treasure. Right? Your time and talent could be well, maybe you're good at, you know, maybe you're good at video, production. Maybe you're good at, working a website or or, you know, handling social media. Anything like that. Maybe graphic design. You know, we could always use help with graphic design, doing show show art for the, for the audio podcast. You know, so there's a number of ways you can help us out by donating your time or your talent. But what we really need the most is we need the treasure. Alright? And, just like anybody else, any other show, you know, we need to keep this thing going.
We don't have any corporate sponsorships, at least not yet. We're not, you know, we don't we we only have a handful of, of donators. So any way that you could help us out with a financial donation, we would really, really appreciate that. And you could very simply do that, and there are numbers of ways to do it. You could do it through a one time donation in any amount, whatever you feel is appropriate for the value you're getting from us. You could also do a recurring, monthly donation in any amount. You could also join up with one of our, producer tiers. Now the producer tiers, they're a little involved. So you got the associate producer tier for a monthly recurring donation of $17.76 a month.
Then you also have our producer tier, which is a little bit of an upgrade, like a little promotion you get. That's because the donation's higher, so it's $18.36 a month for the producer tier. And then we have a two we have two levels within our, executive producer tier. Right? So at the $25 a month monthly recurring donation, you have executive producer tier, and then you also have another executive producer tier at $50 a month. And the way it all breaks down is this, for all of all the different tiers, you get the shout out on every show. You get your name included in all of our show notes. You'll even get a picture in the link on all of our show notes.
You will also, be able to, be included in all of our emails, anything that we send out. And, you know, so it's it's it's pretty neat. It's pretty neat to have set that recognition. And we do that, of course, because your donations help us produce the show, so therefore, you are producers of the show, whether it's an associate, a producer, or an executive producer. Alright. Now the executive producers get a little bit different. The executive producers do get all the shout outs, all the inclusion in emails and show notes, but, they both get a thirty minute live, interaction here with us on the show. So in other words, they'll book a thirty minute block, and they will come on the show live with us and be able to get involved in the conversation directly with us.
Let us know what they're thinking, what their opinions are on these things, and, get to know who some of our producers and executive producers are. Now we've already done that with, with, our executive producer, Wayne, and that was a lot of fun. That was a blast. And, we're gonna be doing that again very, very soon. And so, you know, it it's it's pretty neat. It's pretty neat. Now at the $50 executive producer level, you get all of the shout outs, all of the inclusions, you you get the book, the thirty minute segment, and you also get a free Joe Russo t shirt, for your $50 monthly recurring donation.
Alright? So, we don't have them. Well, we we did receive the templates for them, and I said on Friday that we received them, and I was mistaken. They were just the templates. So we will have actually the t shirts available to you, June. So, so if you sign up as an executive producer at the $50 level, you will get your t shirts. And, so we're looking forward to, being able to send a whole bunch of those out, so make sure you sign up for it. Alright. Also, another way you can help us out is by heading over to our affiliate link at the alexjonesstore.com/joe, where you could you could shop from, a wide range of some great vitamin supplements and apparel. They have some great stuff on there. You know what I take already? I take the the, Ultimate Irish Sea Moss, the Turmeric, the Shilajit, the, the the, Ultra Blue Methylene, and it is fantastic. I actually took the methylene right before we did the show and, tonight, and so, I'm waiting for that to start to kick in. I'm already starting to feel it. One of the things it does for me is it it breaks me out into a sweat, so I I feel like I'm getting a little bit of a sweat going on here. It's also 86 degrees in the studio with the fan with with the, AC running, so it could also help.
And, so so, you can easily head over to the link the alex jones store dot com slash joe. It should be up on your screen right now. And, hey, you know, purchase some of these things. They're great. They're great supplements. They work. If they didn't, I wouldn't tell you to try them. Alright? And the reason why I know they work is because I take them myself. So, again, I wouldn't tell you to take them if I wasn't already taking them. But, again, this is not medical advice. I'm not telling you make sure you check with your doctor to make sure you can take some of these things, but try them out.
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention too, with the support, we also do cryptos. Remember? So you can donate Satoshis, which is to micropayment of Bitcoin, or you could, donate Texit Coin, which we have our QR code up there on the support page as well. And if you're not invested in Texit Coin yet, you really shouldn't consider doing that. This is not financial advice. I'm not a financial planner or anything like that and a license to do it. But I'm telling you to try it out and take a look at it, because how many of us sat on our hands when Bitcoin came out at just, like, $10 a coin, and now it is a hundred thousand dollars for one coin? So, you know, that's the way I looked at it. I invested some money in, in Texacoin. I'm very happy that I I see already a return of the investment.
I purchased it. I think it was, like, 30 or 40¢ a coin, and now it's, like a dollar 5 a coin. So it's getting there. It's gonna take time. It took, six hundred and eighty something days for for Bitcoin to to, rise above the $10 mark. So we'll take we'll just keep checking we'll just keep our eyes on, Texacoin. So but you got really nothing to lose. It's so inexpensive right now to get in on it. Just a couple of bucks. Alright. Again, not financial advice. I'm not a financial planner. Alright. Well, with all that said, also, don't forget to head over to rumble.com/joeroos.
That is our, that's our home base for the video stream. We, we do have a stream going on YouTube, Twitch, x. I think we're on Facebook. And, also, we, just recently got on to Vimeo, but I think we have to upload to Vimeo, which we haven't done yet. But, if you wanna stay with the show now don't forget what we do is during the week, when we, except when we have guests, but when we do just strictly news, we only we only show the first fifteen or twenty minutes of the show on YouTube, x, Twitch, Facebook, you know, so we we stream exclusively on Rumble.
So get your phone, download the Rumble app. It's free. Sign up for an account. It is free. Follow the show. It is free. Rumble Com / joeroos. Or, if if you, if you're on the app, just type in joe roos in the, search bar and the show will pop up. Make sure you'll follow it. Alright? Like, subscribe, and share. Help us spread the show around. Alright. Now, normally, like I said, we would, be cutting the stream at this particular point, but considering that we're doing a bible study tonight, I'm gonna push, see if I get a strike on YouTube like I I got for some of the shows we did with some of the guests, and we'll see what happens with that. And, you know, if it if the time ever comes where we get enough strikes where they they suspend the channel, we're just gonna completely ditch YouTube altogether. But, you know, for now, we'll see how it is. We don't really have such a big following there. We're bigger here, and we're bigger on on the audio stream.
And, if you're on the audio stream, we're on all of your modern podcast platforms like, Podcast Guru, Fountain.fm, and so many more. Just head over to podcastindex.org and download yourself one of those modern podcast apps. Alright. Well, having said all that, if you would, if you have it, take out your Bible and turn with me over to the book of Acts and chapter four. Acts chapter four. K. I brought the big one out today. Acts chapter four. Now like I've told you, I am a Bible believing Christian. Alright? So I put a great deal of emphasis on my Bible.
And I'm not just talking about any Bible either. I am talking about the King James Bible. So I am a King James Bible believing Christian. I believe that the King James Bible is the inspired, inerrant, preserved word of God for us today in the English language. Honestly, if you're using another version, that's unfortunate because the modern versions are so corrupted and so watered down that you are losing a ton a ton of good doctrine and good theology. So so I keep on hitting this thing. I don't know why, but and my nose is itching me like crazy. I think my allergies are acting up, but, I might have to take a second, mute you, and go blow it. Yeah. Hold on. Be right back.
Alright. That's embarrassing, by the way. You should never ever ever do that on the show when you're doing live. Ever ever ever. Note to self, make sure you blow your nose before the show, Joe. Alright. So, again, King James. So all of the verses that you're gonna see are all gonna be King James. All of the graphics that we put up, as far as the verses go, because I pulled all the graph all the verses that we're using tonight. I pulled them all up as graphics. We're gonna be putting up on the screen. They'll all be King James, and I'm telling you, not all Bibles say the same thing. Alright? That's a very popular misconception. Not every Bible says the same thing. They say different things.
So how do you know which one's the word of God? Well, you gotta take your Bibles, you gotta compare them one to another, and see what has been removed. And the more you see how much has been removed from the modern versions from the original King James, you will understand exactly what I'm talking about. Alright? Alright. So Acts chapter four. Acts and chapter four. So again, like I said, I am a Bible believing Christian, which means I put a lot of emphasis on the Bible. I believe that the Bible is worthy of our acknowledgment, and it is more than worthy of our study, and it is incredibly important to study your Bible. Alright? Now today, in in today's day and age, we live in a society that's basically, it's basically yeah. Basically, it's come to a place where, the Bible is under constant attack.
Constant attack. Like I was just saying, you know, that everybody is criticizing it. You know, it it's it's it's beleaguered. It's it's it's talked about in in such a negative way that it's actually very, very belittling and irreverent, to be quite honest with you. Now in this country, in America, at least right now, we have a system of jurisprudence here that I think every American really should appreciate, especially if they were ever finding themselves under the gun of the law. And very simply, we call it innocent until proven guilty. Now that's what it is on paper, and that's what it is should be in reality.
But, the truth of the matter is, the the way the media runs and the way the mainstream media runs and, and and whatnot, you you'll you'll see that a lot of times people are are guilty until they prove themselves innocent. Right? But I'm sure that if you were ever to the point where you were standing trial, you would appreciate the consideration of innocent until proven guilty. Right? Now, you know, the Bible's been around a lot longer than than any of us have been around, and it's gonna be around a lot longer after we're gone. And the Bible has withstood the test of time and the criticism. Again, I'm talking about the King James.
Alright? So don't just think because, you know, you know, we're good Americans, and and we're patriots that that that, you know, we don't need the Bible. We need the Bible, especially if we're good Americans and we're patriots. The Bible deserves the same acknowledgment and the same considerations that we get innocent until proven guilty. You know, and I and I do. I I I'm kinda confrontational about this. I've been confrontational about it, and maybe I've kinda eased up just a little bit, but, you know, I I often say to people that point that accusatory finger at the Bible, you know, I often say to them, well, okay, then why don't you just take the time and go try to prove that this thing is guilty?
And you know something a lot of men over the years have tried. They've gone through the whole process of of of of trying to prove the Bible wrong, to try to discredit it, to try to, you know, they they would basically take it out of context and then try to, you know, convince people that the Bible's not true. But over that whole period of time, a lot of these men that over the years have done this, that they they've gone through the process eventually became believers. The more they studied it, the more they said, you know something? This book really does know what it's talking about.
Now, if you've gotten over to Acts, let's go to Acts chapter four, and we'll go we'll start in verse number eight. Acts chapter four beginning in verse number eight. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, ye rulers of the people and elders of Israel. Alright. So now, Peter's about to say something that's really extraordinary here. Alright? And since it is something very extraordinary, we really better pay attention to it. If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole. So basically here, Peter just made, had had has just really been the vehicle for a great miracle in the life of a man, and and that's what he's he's referring to.
Be it known unto all of unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him does doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which has become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Alright. Now I want you to notice something here. I want you to notice that the text in this text, salvation is connected not only to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, but also something else, his resurrection his resurrection.
Alright? Go over to Romans chapter 10. Romans in chapter 10. Just the next book over, just turn the page, couple of pages maybe. It's really easy to find. Romans chapter 10 and, verse number nine. Romans 10 and verse nine. The Apostle Paul says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God had raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Alright? Raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Alright. So I want you to notice here again that that Peter and Paul both connect the resurrection with salvation.
Raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Alright? Let's go over to first Corinthians now. First Corinthians, that's just the next book over. It's Acts, Romans, first Corinthians. I'm trying to make it easy for us today considering we haven't done this in a while. Alright. And this is the, the last of the texts that we're gonna look at for a little bit. First Corinthians chapter 15 and verse one, moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which you have received, and wherein you stand. Alright? So this this is the gospel that Paul's preaching.
Alright? And he's gonna define it to us right now. By which also you're saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you unless you believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Alright. Now go down to verse number 12. Alright? Verse 12, it says where is it? There we go. Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
And if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen? And if Christ not be risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Alright. So so in other words, everything that we hinge our faith on, the very cornerstone of our faith is built upon what according to that text? The resurrection of Jesus Christ. Alright. Let's pray. Our heavenly father, would you please add your blessings to the reading, the preaching, and the study of your holy word today? Father, I pray that if there's any under the sound of my voice with any questions regarding their own personal salvation or how to get saved or wondering if they need to be saved. Father, I pray that you would use this message today and this time together to do that, to open up their eyes to it, and we'll thank you for it.
In Jesus' name, amen. Alright. Now, now in just a little bit, I'm gonna make a further application to the resurrection, but what we need to do is is, we need to begin with with something very, very important, and that is what necessitated the resurrection? Alright? What necessitated the resurrection? Why did we need a resurrection? And let me ask you this, have you, you listening right now, watching right now, have you, based upon the scriptures that we just read, have you been saved? Alright? It's a legitimate question. Have you been saved?
Alright. Now, strangely enough, that that invokes a lot and all kinds of of of emotions in people, if I if I could say it that way, you know. A lot of people get offended by that. Why? Why are so many people offended by that question? Have you been saved? Some of them are, and they'll get all fired up about it. Well, what do you mean by asking me that? And we're gonna look at that. We're gonna explore that a little bit. But there is an absolute answer to the question. There's an absolute answer to the question, can we really know that we're saved?
Now and now it it you can see by the by the verses that I read to you that that word is not a word that was invented by some, you know, foaming at the mouth, crazy, wild eyed Baptist preacher. That's a Bible word. God himself inserted that word. Saved, salvation. Can I know? Alright. Well, let's look over in first John in chapter five. Alright? First John in chapter five, and let's, let's try to resolve this before we go any further. First John and chapter five, beginning in verse 11. And this is the record, and this by the way, this is one of my favorite verses or my favorite passages of scripture, to be honest with you.
And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son. Alright. Now as far as god's concerned, it's totally casting concrete. It is an absolute record, and this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son. He that hath the son hath life, and he that hath not the son of God hath not life. Now, I frequently refer to this verse, and some of you who who may have been listening to the previous, show that I did on these when when I was doing these, Bible studies before have heard me use this verse many, many, many times.
But I frequently refer to this verse when people tell me that the bible is hard to understand. Now I want you to understand this. I want you to see this. Alright? I I want you to kinda take a, you know, a mental picture of this. Every word, every single word in that verse is a one syllable word. Every word. He that hath the son hath life. He that hath not the son of God hath not life. Now folks, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't admit to anyone. But I was so uneducated that I couldn't understand a verse where every single word was a one syllable word.
I mean, folks, that's pretty simple. Don't you think? I mean, that's right down there at a shoe top level. That's it. He that hath the son hath life, and he that hath not the son of god hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the son of God. No. No. K n o w. No. Absolutely confirmed. You can know that you have eternal life. You can know that you're saved. You know, over the twenty five years, it's gonna be twenty five years that I've been saved this coming July.
July twentieth of '2 thousand is when I got saved. And over those twenty five years, I have I have spoken with a lot of people, and I've asked them that question many, many, many times. Have you ever been saved? Well, I hope so. Well, hope so isn't no so. Have you been saved? Well, you know, I'm a preacher. I'm trying. Trying is is it no so? Have you been saved? Well, I'm working on it, preacher. Working on it isn't knowing. So in other words, what you're telling me is you're not on the same page that God is. Alright. Now now what do you mean what do you mean by salvation?
Alright. Salvation. You know, even the most primitive man understands that they need or there's a need to, pacify a force that's greater than himself. You know, you can go to the most primitive societies and cultures, you know, at the at at the back end of the Amazon, you know, or or or clear back into the aborigines in Australia and and into the, you know, into the bush in Africa and and and who knows where else. But all of them, every single one of them have something dedicated in their religious, societal culture that is directed toward pacifying a greater force than they are.
Now somebody might say, well, you know, they're just uneducated. You know, they don't know any better. Now folks, think about that. Isn't it sad? I I mean, really sad that so many people educate themselves out of the idea of salvation? Think about that. Realistically, have we done ourselves any favors in doing that? I mean I mean, think about that. People literally educate themselves out of the idea of salvation. Alright. Now what do we mean by salvation? Well, you know something? You know, God's not interested presently at this moment in saving your body.
Alright? Now I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but, you know, your body's falling apart. You know, if if if if God saved your body, then you wouldn't be achy when you get out of bed in the morning, man. And and I'm telling you, you've gotta see me trying to get out of bed sometimes. You know? I have to hold on to everything. I'm holding on to the table. I'm holding on to the bed and the mattress. I'm grabbing the dog. You know? Whatever it takes. I mean, there was one one morning that I got out of bed, and I was so stiff and so sore that I actually had to crawl from the bedroom to the to the bathroom. You know?
I laugh about it, but but, you know, that's the truth. If God saved your body, you wouldn't be full of all these aches and pains every day, especially as you're getting older. You know, you wouldn't stumble your way without your glasses on, not able to see, tripping over the dog or tripping over the dog's toy or or or bumping into a wall like I did once to the coffee pot in the morning. Isn't that right? Or or am I losing my my crazy? God didn't save your body. The body is still waiting for its salvation, and you find that over in Romans chapter eight. You see, what god is interested in saving is your soul. Now your soul how do I put this? Your soul is your soul is the part of you that is eternal.
Your soul is the part of you that's gonna live forever. And actually in your Bible, there's another word that's used, to describe your soul. You know what that word is? It's the word ghost. Ghost. G h o s t, ghost. You know, I was I was I was drinking my coffee, I think it was yesterday morning. And, after, of course, after I stumbled to the coffee pot, you know, but I but I was but I, you know, I don't I don't have regular TV anymore. I got rid of that thing. Now I just stream stuff, and and, I had this probably Tubi or something like that, but but, it was one of those I just had it running in the background, like, I wasn't really paying attention to it. And, you know, when I don't know if you've used Tubi or not, but when it when one show ends or a movie ends, it just kinda rolls into the next one.
But, I was watching something on on UFOs and and things like that, and I guess it changed to to, one of those ghost hunter type stories or shows. And I don't you know, I I I watch them. I I find them amusing. You know. It it I don't know. I just I just find it amusing to watch. But, but, there was a lady on the show, and, you know, and and, you know, she's part of the show, and she's being, I guess, interviewed if you wanna call it that. And she was talking about, that she had written a book about ghosts. You know? So, you know, apparently, she had seen, you know, some of these apparitions and ghostly things and so on and so forth. And, you know, and and she went what she did is she went around, and she was collecting all information, and and she found out that there are thousands of people that have a shared similar experience, to hers. And so she decided to write a book about it. And, you know, of course, the book is gonna be popular. You know, it it may have already come out. I don't I don't know. But, the the book would be popular, and and they'll sell lots of copies of it.
You know, and people have a certain interest in ghosts. People generally do. But what people don't realize is that God addressed that whole scenario thousands of years ago. Thousands of years ago, there is something inside of you that looks like you. The psalmist said, my soul cleaveth to the dust. Quicken thou me according to thy word. And try to picture it like this. Your soul is like the inner tube of a tire. Okay? And that's what it's like inside your body. Your soul is like an inner tube inside your body. Alright? Now there now there are two possible alternatives at death.
Alright? Your soul is either stuck to the body and pays the consequences for all of the sins of the flesh, or or it's set free because of an operation that only God could perform. And that's, and and that's recorded over in Colossians chapter two. So you have an eternal soul that's gonna live forever. Now back in Genesis, it was chapter 35, I think. It was the story where Rachel is dying. And it says, when when Rachel was dying, and then in parentheses, it puts, for her soul was in departing. Now, several years ago, there were some Swedish scientists, and it's always the Swedes or the Swiss that do this stuff. But, several years ago, the these Swedish scientists, got really fascinated with with what actually transpired at the moment of death.
So with the consent of some terminally ill patients, their families, they willed them when they were and they were they were anticipated, to be dying onto an extremely sensitive scale. And, what what what happened is they put them on these scales, and amazingly, at the moment of death, when they breathe that last breath, when they flatlined, they instantaneously lost weight. Just like that. And they determined that it was about 23 grams on the average. So in other words, something leaves. Something leaves. I wonder what that is. I wonder what that is.
It's your soul. It's your soul. You have an eternal soul which houses your mind, your body, and your will. It's the soul that's the object of salvation. You know, Jesus said, what should it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Don't lose your soul. You know, you could be as rich as Bill Gates. You could be as rich as Warren Buffett or or or both combined. But if you lose your own soul, you know, you never have and you never will see a U Haul truck at a funeral procession. You never will. You could accumulate all the worldly goods, everything this world has to offer, and lose your own lose your own soul.
So what are you saved from? Saved from what? Well, Bible says over in Romans chapter six verse 23, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord. Saved from the consequences of our sin. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, Romans three twenty three. Now, you know, rather than make an argument against hell, wouldn't it make more sense to make preparations to avoid it? I mean, to me, that just makes sense. That's to that's just that's just as as obvious as the nose in your face. That just makes sense to me. You know?
The Bible may be right. I mean, wouldn't it be something, you know, you know, to to to get into eternity and find out that, you know, those university professors were all wrong and that the Bible was right? Well, there's also logic connected with salvation. And I'm gonna I'm gonna try to, I'm gonna try to present something to you. Alright? I'm gonna try here. I'm not gonna say I'm gonna be successful with it, but I'm gonna try. Would it be safe to suggest I mean I mean, really genuinely safe to suggest that there is no god? Think about that. Would it would it be safe to suggest that there is no God? Look. You see this watch?
This is an old illustration. I'm sure you've probably heard it before, but you see this watch? It's a nice watch. Right? It's it's nice. It's all that newfangled stuff. Well, you know how I got this watch? Well, I was sitting in my house one day, and I and I and I was studying. I was at the at my kitchen table. And, and all of a sudden, all of the parts of this watch, the one I'm wearing right now, all of the parts of this watch just crept in under the door, you know, piece by piece, piece by piece. And and miraculously, they just all started putting themselves together.
You know, little microchip, little circuit board here, little one there, you know, piece by piece, little battery connection, piece by piece until it all came together into this intricately balanced timepiece. Now how many of you believe that? How many of you actually believe that this watch magically, mysteriously, miraculously appeared piece by piece and put itself together? Well, nobody, I hope. I hope nobody would. Now wouldn't you think that the possibility of this watch doing that is, like, a bazillion times greater than this entire universe?
The entire universe doing just that, well, then then then there must be some divine wisdom behind all of this creation. So then wouldn't it be safe to assume? Or I should say, would it be safe to assume that there is no God? I don't think so. I don't think so. I wouldn't assume that position whatsoever. I wouldn't. If there is if there is a god, would it be reasonable to think that since we're here and evidently of his creation, that he would have some interest in the human race. Now myself, I think that's a logical assumption. He must have some interest in us, in you as an individual.
Jesus said that God knows when a tiny sparrow falls to the ground. So if God knows that, there must be some concern on his part about us. Now the next question that I have for you in this series of logic is this. Can we hold him responsible for our dilemma? Right? Now don't answer that yet. Alright? It's not a trick question. I promise you. But you have to think about that for a minute. Now some of you might be saying, alright. Well well, what's our dilemma? Well, our dilemma is sin. Right? Sin has put us in a situation where we are alienated from God. We're separated from God, and we need some kind of a, a a reconciling solution.
That's what we need. We need to be reconciled to God. Now since since we find ourselves in this dilemma, I want you to think this through with me. Okay? Just think this through. If the Bible is true from Genesis to Revelation and every verse in it is correct, and I believe it is, But whether you believe it or not, if the Bible is even partially true or remotely true, and Adam fell because of his disobedience, and he passed that bad DNA onto all of us, and he did. The Bible says, wherefore, as one man as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned.
You and I inherit really bad DNA. And do you know how that manifests itself? We all die. For the wages of sin is death. Now, folks, this is just simple Bible logic. Alright? Simple Bible logic. Well, god knowing everything. Right? God being omnipotent. God looking down upon us said, and I I I know those knuckleheads are gonna sin, and because of my holiness, I have to hold them responsible for it. So then we find ourselves wallowing around in this this just slew of misery. You know? Oh, what are we gonna do? What are we gonna do? Can't we hold God responsible?
And the answer is yes. Now I know that all of you were thinking to yourself, no. We can't do that. We we we can't point an accusing finger at God. I mean, that would really be putting us on thin ice. No? We can't do that. Yes. We can. Yes. We can. We can say, god, you did it to us. Except one thing. One thing. If god provides a solution, if God provides a remedy, then we can no longer hold him responsible. And he did provide a remedy, did he not? He said, now here you are, you bunch of sinners. Here you are. I'm I'm gonna provide a remedy, but I'm not gonna violate your free will.
I'm gonna let you choose. That remedy is gonna be embodied in the person of my dear son, Jesus Christ. That's the remedy. That's the remedy right there. So can God absolve himself of all responsibility? Yes. Yes. And he did. And he did. Now back to our question. Why are so many offended by the question, have you been saved? Are you saved? Well, number one, it implies that there's something wrong with the individual. Right? I mean, who really appreciates, you know, being told that there's something wrong with you? Do you like that? I don't like that. I mean, no one really wants to hear that. No one really wants to hear that there's something wrong with them. Right?
But the very essence of salvation, the very thought behind salvation, the very ingredient that comprises salvation indicate that there is something wrong with us. It suggests that we may need help with a problem that extends beyond our own capacity. So in other words, salvation in biblical language indicates that there's something that needs to be done, and I don't have what it takes to get it done. I don't have what it takes to get the thing fixed. I cannot do it on my own. It's it's it's clear. Very, very clear that the perfect must fix the imperfect.
Let me say that again. It's clear that the perfect must fix the imperfect. And in all of history in all of history, I've only found one candidate. Just one. Jesus Christ is the candidate. Jesus Christ, the righteous. He's the one that can fix mister imperfect right here. He's the one that can fix mister or miss imperfect right there. You know, it's interesting when you when you sit down and you visit with people about these, you know, spiritual issues. You You know, one of the most common responses that you get when you ask the question, you know, have you been saved or are you saved or or do you think that you're a sinner? Is, well, you know, no one's perfect.
Man, you got that nailed right there perfect. We are a million miles from it, aren't we? As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one. Now why is it that when you visit with folks well, did you ever hear the phrase, you know, what happened to you? Did you get religion? Did you get religion? You know, that little phrase or question invokes hardly any resentment compared to, are you saved? Now think about that just for a second. Alright? It's all it should take. Just a just a second. Think about it. Religion.
Religion is what? Religion is man made. Religion is man made, and consequently, it it suggests that man could fix the problem. But man can't fix the problem. Therefore, religion can't fix the problem. So, you know, when someone says, hey. So what happened to you? Did you get religion? That just doesn't make folks as as irate and turned all inside out and upside down as have you been saved? That really fires up the response. Salvation, folks, is God made. You know, many years ago, there was a man that was convicted of murdering, two young boys, and and he was sentenced to death.
And, while he was on death row, by and by, a a death row guard in the prison was a Christian, and he had an opportunity to to to speak with this condemned man. Now over a period of several months, he witnessed to him and he witnessed to him and he witnessed to him, and, allegedly, this man bowed his head and trusted Jesus Christ as his savior. And then somewhere along the way, the the the media found out about this thing, and and and they interviewed him, and he said, yes. I believe I'm going to heaven, and I believe that God has forgiven me. You would not believe the letters that were written about that.
Folks all across the state were irate, absolutely indignant, apoplectic at the idea that our murderer could be forgiven and go to heaven. I mean, it really rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way. In that interview, the media well, in that interview, the man said, look. I did it. I'm guilty. I'm on death row. I deserve to die. I'm willing to pay for my crime. And he said, but I also believe based on the Bible that when I die, I will be immediately transported to heaven because of the finished work and the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. And listen.
People were just doing backflips about that. This can't be. This can't be. If if God would take someone like that to heaven, then then I don't wanna go to heaven and, you know, blah blah blah, yada yada yada. All that stuff. All that stuff. Now in your mind, work this out with me. Okay? Let's fast forward forty years. This condemned man has been subjected to every kind of psychological test and profile known to mankind. He's been the model prisoner for forty years. He took advantage of all the educational programs that were offered, and now he has two BAs. He has a master's degree and a PhD, and and, you know, basically, you know, he he's he's accelerated on up through man's system, and he's finally been deemed rehabilitated.
Forty years later, the parole board decides to let him out on parole. Do you think for one minute that there would be nearly the same objections, the same flap? No. No. Because the man's because of man's system. Man's system has prevailed.
[01:03:51] Unknown:
Look what a wonderful job we have done.
[01:03:55] Unknown:
It's like Tom Hanks in in that movie Cast Away when he built a fire.
[01:04:01] Unknown:
Fire. Look what I have done.
[01:04:08] Unknown:
And so it is that so many sinners look at their own lives and say, look what I have done. Look at what my religion has done. And God never really enters into the equation. Salvation, folks, salvation is God made, not man made. Man cannot do it. He cannot do it. Alright. Now what keeps people from getting saved? What keeps people from being saved? Well, one thing is pride. I'm not talking about stupid parades. I'm talking about pride. Pride prevents them from admitting the problem. And there is a problem, folks. There is a problem. And you know what the problem is? The problem is me.
The problem is you. There's a great old hymn. Great one. Love it. It says, it's me. It's me, oh lord, standing in the need of prayer. It's not my father or my mother, but it's me, oh lord, standing in the need of prayer. It's not my father or mother, my sister or brother, but it's me, oh lord, standing in the need of prayer. I'm the problem. Right here. I'm the problem. You wanna look at the problem? Look at yourself in the mirror. There was an old preacher that said that every morning, he wake he he would wake up and he would look in the mirror, and he would say, what are you up to anyway?
And then there's an unwillingness to seriously contemplate the future without salvation. You know, some people just aren't willing to think about the long term future and and what that future would be without salvation. And then finally, some people are just unwilling to to to give something up. Some that's and that's true. There are some people that are just not willing to give up something. Now listen, folks. This isn't required. It's not required. God doesn't require you to give up anything for salvation. Anything.
But it may be expected. And some people some people sit there and they think, oh, man. That that that sounds just a little bit too hard. Let me ask you something. What are you holding on to that's worth going to hell for? Seriously, what are you holding on to that's worth going to hell for? I honestly I cannot think of anything. I can't think of anything. And believe me, I have my vices. Okay? I cannot think of anything that's worth holding on to to go to hell. I I I don't. I know I said fondly, but I should have one more point. Why is Christ's resurrection so essential?
Why is it essential? Because if you look back at the verses that we read, the verses that we studied, Christ's resurrection and salvation are intertwined. Alright? They're integrated. They're synchronized. They're connected. You cannot, absolutely cannot separate one from the other. Why is Christ's resurrection essential? Well, first, the power of resurrection is absent in us. Alright? We don't have it. It's absent. I don't have that kind of power. There is no power on this planet. There is no power that man has ever designed or even contemplated that can take him out of the grave.
I cannot stop a funeral and raise the dead. I can't do it, but Jesus did. Jesus did. I mean, can you imagine? Just one time, just for fun. Just just one time. I wish I had that kind of power. Wouldn't that be a kick? You know, here comes a funeral procession down the down the street. You just get right in front of that hurt and say, stop. Stop. Stop.
[01:08:54] Unknown:
Open up that hearse.
[01:08:57] Unknown:
Roll that casket out. I say unto thee, arise. And all I do is make a fool out of myself. But you know something? Jesus did it. I don't have the power to go into the home of a little 12 year old girl who passed away, whose daddy was a ruler in the synagogue and say, I say unto thee, Tabitha, arise. But Jesus did. I don't have the power to stand at the face of a grave, a tomb, where someone has been interred for four days and cry out with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And all of a sudden, here he comes, bound up like a mummy in a grave in his grave clothes, floating out.
But Jesus does. So if I want that kind of power in the future, I guess the best thing for me to do is just somehow just ride his coattails. You know, get hooked into him. You know, experience his power that it may be manifest someday in my life. But and then there's something else, actually. There's something else. Without the resurrection, let's let's just go back to first Corinthians 15 for a second. First Corinthian first Corinthians 15. We read we read there just a little bit ago, but this is the resurrection chapter. First Corinthians 15, and I mean, this whole chapter is all about the resurrection. You know, it's a great, great chapter.
You know, people say that the Bible's hard to read. Yeah. Yeah. It's it's hard. It's got 58 verses. Yeah. 58 verses in first Corinthians 15. Now there there was actually a church that I visited, some time ago, that had a a whole bunch of third grade school kids that memorized that whole chapter, all 58 verses, and they stood up and they quoted it every single verse. Didn't miss one. First Corinthians 15 and verse 42. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption. It is raised in incorruption. Look at verse 50.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is no escape from corruption. No escape from it. None.
Now I don't know if you deem yourself to be corruptible, but I've got a I got really bad news for you. You are. You absolutely are. And if you don't believe it, just don't take a bath for a week. You'll find out how just corruptible you are. We all are. Every single one of us. There is absolutely no escape from it. The older we get, the more we sense all the disadvantages, of getting older. You know, look. I work in a nursing home. I've told you that before. You know, residents there tell me all the time, don't get old. Don't get old like there's an alternative. Right?
You know? The older we get, the more we discover our corruptibility. And folks, there's there's no escape from it if Jesus didn't rise from the dead, because hell is a place of utter and absolute corruption. That's what it is. That's exactly what it is. Just just total insane, incredibly awful corruption. There would never be an escape from it if Jesus didn't rise from the dead. But since he did since he did, I can escape my final corruption. Now we don't only see corruption in ourselves, but in everything that's around us too. I mean, do you ever get sick of politicians lying to you?
That's just corruption. That's just corruption. That's exactly what it is. That's corruption on a on a political level, but we see corruption everywhere on every level of society. And then finally, there's no hope for victory. There's no hope for a final victory. Well, victory over what? Look at me over in, verse 54 of first Corinthians 15. Verse 54 of first Corinthians 15. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then death shall be then then shall be brought to pass the saying that it is written, death is swallowed up in victory.
Alright. Death is swallowed up in victory. Oh, death, where is thy sting? Oh, grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us giveth us the victory through our lord Jesus Christ. Alright. Now now now here's the teaching on the verse that we just read. Alright. As implausible it may as it may seem to you, as incredible as you may receive it, this is what the Bible says. One day, the Lord's gonna blow a trumpet in heaven, and it's gonna be a loud one. It's gonna be accompanied by a great voice coming over the banister of glory, And that voice is gonna say, like the song of Solomon, come up hither.
Come up hither. And there's gonna be graves all over this world that are gonna open up. They're gonna be split open like a ripe melon, and folks are gonna be leaving those, and that which is corruptible instantaneously, just like that, is gonna be changed to that which is incorruptible. The mortal shall be changed to the immortal. Boom. Just like that. That quick. That quick. You say, you really believe that? Yeah. I do. I believe that. I absolutely believe that. There's no final victory without the resurrection. You know, Jesus stood at the at at the grave of Lazarus. Alright? And and this is one of my favorite illustrations.
A man by the name of doctor S. M. Lockridge, great great old preacher. He's he's with the Lord now, but great old preacher. S. M. Lockridge used to say this, the reason why the Lord Jesus stood at the head of the tomb of Lazarus and cried, Lazarus, come forth, is because if he hadn't used Lazarus's name, every corpse within 50 miles would have come up out of the grave. You know what he's talking about? He's talking about power, man. Power. When you stop and think about it, death couldn't survive in the presence of Jesus Christ. When you come to think about it, every person that Jesus raised from the dead, he addressed them personally by their name, their situation, their person.
It it it wasn't like a broad sweeping generality. It was you, arise. You, come out of the grave. And so it is that the Lord will say to you today as an individual, not corporately, not in a in a in a great, big, sweeping generality, but you, you watching, you listening. I would save you. I would forgive you, and all you have to do is trust me. Trust him. Trust him. Well, how do I do that? We read a verse that said, if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that god hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Thou, you, shalt be saved. Now have you ever been saved? Well, preacher, I hope so. No. Hold on a sec. Wait a minute. Wait just a minute. These things have been written unto you that believe on the name of the son of God that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the son of God. You see, what happens at salvation is God gives you such an affirmation that the Holy Spirit of God moves into you, and there is a no so element that instantly, like that, enters into your soul. That you may know you may know you have eternal life.
You know what my prayer is for you today? For you watching, for you listening? That you don't walk away from this without having that knowledge. I don't want you walking away without knowing Jesus Christ as a personal part of your life. And you know what I'm talking about? I'm talking about right here. Right here. Inside. Inside of your soul. The savior of your soul. The redeemer of your spirit. That's my desire for you, and that's the commission that all believers are given in the bible. Go ye into all the world. Well, this show is heard all around the world.
Last I checked, 60 countries around the world have downloads of this show. So they'll be in for a surprise. Right? Go ye into all the world, and I want you to have this knowledge. Our heavenly father, we wanna thank you for the day. We wanna thank you, Lord, for the preaching and teaching of your holy word. God, I ask you to bless all those that are under the sound of my voice today. And, Lord, if there's any with any questions about their salvation, Lord, please, Lord, put it upon them to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and settle that matter right now. Lord, give them that know so element of their salvation.
Not the maybe so, not that I'm trying, not that I'm working on it, that they know that they're saved and that they can know that they're saved. And, lord, move any one of them to reach out to us here at the show to to maybe we can talk to them a little bit, counsel them a little bit, give them some encouragement, and we'll thank you for it in the blessed name of our savior, the lord Jesus Christ, on this the lord's day.
