In this episode of Now You Know Eagle Pass, I address the community reaction to our recent post about the DUI case involving Stephanie Valdez, the mayor’s wife, and explain why we decided to publish it. I walk through how we received the documents, the timeline, and the standards we believe should apply to public officials and appointees—emphasizing transparency, fairness, and accountability over popularity or political convenience. I also respond to criticism, acknowledge the consequences we’ve faced for reporting uncomfortable truths, and invite open dialogue from all sides, including hospital district board members and school district leaders, so the community can hear directly from them.
Beyond that, I call out what I see as political theater and selective outrage in local media and politics, contrast how different figures are treated for similar mistakes, and push for a higher standard of professionalism from our leaders. I close by reaffirming that our work is community service, not pay-for-praise coverage, and encourage residents to use their voices, engage critically, and hold every public official—friends and foes alike—to the same standard.
Hi. Alright. What's up, everybody? Are you ready? Listen to a little bit of living color. Yes. That is the perfect song for this podcast. Welcome to now you know Eagle Pass. I am Ruben Camarillo, the forbidden one. Yes. Guys, thank you for joining. We'll we'll keep we'll stall as much as we can. Please like and share before we start. I got something to say, guys. Yeah. I've been a bad boy. Let me. All right. Please, like and share. Help us grow. We want to get you guys the truth. We're not doing it. Well, I lied. We weren't going to do any sponsors, but we did get a phone call and. You know, my buddy's got some balls.
This episode of Now You Know Eagle Pass is brought to you by TNE Energy owned by Danny Mendoza himself. Give him a phone call. We'll share his Facebook out there. That is is one of the actually best, solar panel services in Eagle Pass, and they are also sponsors of Eagle Pass Popcon three. We're gonna have all those details and dates for you guys soon. I wanna thank the city of Eagle Pass for their support on that as well. And let's get the ball rolling. Do we have comments already? What's going on? Smiley. You're gonna love this one, guys.
Guys, like and share this podcast because we got some stuff to say. However, first, I I I do need to issue an apology. You know, I I did something that was you know, that might be unprofessional to some. And, you know, I I I am humble. I I do, hold on. Let's let's let's read this one. Hold on. Is this the new version going to be like the Maverick times that they go back and forth about politics and cover not cover news? I don't know, man. What do you think? Oh, and Veronica is not in studio today, but hello, Vero. No, Joe.
We're just picking up where they left off after they sold out. Again, I have an apology to make, and this is for everybody. So here it goes. I apologize to the for telling them they're cowards. I'm very sorry, guys. I know why you guys do this. I know why you guys go on. I know why you guys are remain, anonymous, and for the simple reason, we'll we'll we'll tell you. Okay. We all know why you guys are here. We got 38 strong. Thank you guys for joining. So we had a little bit of a, a little bit of a shocker a little bit of a shocker a couple of days ago. Trying to open this damn bottle of water.
And let me tell you, for one, it shocked the community for sure that it was a very hard decision to make. It wasn't something that we were planning on doing. This was something for those and we're gonna go on to Facebook, and we're gonna we're gonna show you guys all the comments that we got, a lot of hate, a lot of anger, and some actually agree. But we wanna give you the guys the reasons. And you know what? For all the haters, I'm not giving them a reason as to why I posted that, about miss Stephanie Valdez. But for those of you who do support us and who do want an explanation, we're giving it to you. Okay?
And there's a reason why we did it. But we'll start with the reason first or how it came to be. So I'm on my way to Uvalde. Right? We're going through a camp, and all of a sudden, and I've been getting these a lot, we get a random message, and it it was an email with these documents. And I'm thinking, okay. Great. I the first name I see is none other than Stephanie Valdez, the mayor's wife. Now let me now let me remind you guys, I have nothing against Steph miss Stephanie Valdez. I honestly think she's a nice lady. I don't know if anybody I've heard some other things, but that's hearsay for me. I hear she's a nice lady. I hear she's she's very elegant. She could speak. Honestly, I think that she can take Aron's place as mayor, actually. I think she's a better speaker. Sorry, Aron. That's just that's factual, man.
So we get the documents. Right? And, of course, it it's it's a case. Thanks, buddy. It's a case. It's a case that happened last year, 2024. And now I'm thinking, holy shit. This is just and for for those of you who think I have something to gain from this, what I what did I gain? All I gained was more haters. And after that, I now you know now you know. I can't be part of that high society. I can't be part of the Rotary Club. I can't be part of, you know I'm not gonna have publicity from the media as a public figure. And you know what?
It's that that's something that you do think about. I'm not thinking about humiliating this lady. I'm not thinking about getting after them. I have no gain for it. You think I have time to be doing research, trying to dig up dirt on politicians? No. Absolutely not. But when somebody does it and sends it to us, the one thing that comes to mind is, are we doing a disservice to the community for not I can't open this shit. I'm gonna guess I'm just as child lock or something. Whatever. We'll just stick to my cope zero. Where was I?
Yeah. The the the the main thing are we doing a disservice to the community by not sharing this? Now we love this political stunt that councilman Diaz put on the I had to go on the Internet, make it about him, post his mugshot, and, you know, I love you, Stephanie, and, you know, you in order to be relevant, you you have to be I don't know. I I'm not gonna quote it. I'll I'll read it. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. You read my mind. Making a big deal. It is a big deal. And getting 300 and it's probably, like, up to a thousand now. 300 and some odd likes, to stand up for miss Stephanie Valdez.
So, anyways, we'll go back. We thought long and hard about posting this, and, like I said, what comes to mind is are we doing a disservice to the community by not reporting this? Now people wanna say that this is, oh, this is here here's the justification. Our past doesn't define us. It's all in the past. This this this asshole, Ruben Camarillo, decided to dig up dirt on on miss Valdez and just posted for everybody to see, and what an asshole. Of course, I knew that was gonna happen. But but let's just remember, this this wasn't five years ago. Everybody makes mistakes. I make mistakes. I'm not perfect. I'm not an angel. I'm not a saint. You all know this.
We have all kinds of people that make mistakes. But this was just last year, and she's still on probation. Now when you think about that and you go back to her being appointed as a seat on for a seat on the Maverick County Hospital district board, Did you bother to did did anybody know this? Did they know that? Did they know that she's currently on probation for having for well, it was a class a misdemeanor turned into a class b for having point 15 alcohol blood count or blood content. And now you have to have a breathalyzer in your car. You're on probation. You're being monitored. So do you still qualify for that seat? Absolutely. She's not convicted. She didn't she's not not yet. Nothing. I mean, she the plea had just recently happened in 2025.
It's still active. So you think about all of those 15 candidates that I mean, I know Anita Ramos or Anita Ramirez, sorry, Anita, is not on probation. I know miss Claudia Wright isn't on probation. Do you guys do you do you guys see what's happening here? All in short, why we posted that is to not only get a reaction from the community, but to also point out how unfair things really are in this community. And I really love how you have people like Councilman Diaz and you have, I'm gonna call it, Ramses Media who god. I'll get to that in a little bit. Who try to spin shit for you guys and try to pull the wool over you guys and they're thinking, oh, no. You know, Camadillo is an asshole. That's why he did it. He hates them. That's why he's doing it.
Oh, you know, why dig up someone's past? Okay? Like I said, I don't have time for that shit. It's about fairness. It's about transparency. It's about knowing who our public servants are, who our public officials are. Okay. So let's just put let's just say, Mary Valdez, for example. You know, I don't know why all these politicians get mad when we say things about them, but it really is to we as constituents whole should absolutely should hold our public officials to the highest standard. We don't have time to be doing things like that. People reach out to us. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Hang on a second, guys.
Yeah. You're right. We are gonna try to interview the board. Actually, we've been reaching out, and we're gonna we're gonna get an interview with board members because nobody gives them a voice. Oh, wait. By the way, I'm all pro Mihares. Right? That if I was pro Mihares and I was team Mihares, I would have already had those interviews a long time ago. But, anyways, holding our officials to this absolute standard and pointing out the bullshit, you know, you have Ramsey's media who is constantly attacking Samuel Mijares, our superintendent, constantly attacking the school board, constantly attacking the ISD.
You know, for one thing, people ask the question, well, why well, Ruben, why don't you report on the school board? Oh, you're pro Mijares. That's why No. I don't report on this whole threat incident because, first of all, we already have all kinds of people jumping on it. I'm not gonna waste my time and just throw myself in there. Why? It's already it's not even news anymore. Second, my belief is it starts at the home. Alright. I know I'm jumping topics here. It starts at the home with your with your children. You can't expect mister Mihadas to raise your kids.
You can't expect the school board to raise your kids. So, of course, who are they gonna blame? The school board, you know, mister Mihadez. I don't agree with mister Mihadez. I don't agree with a lot of things that he does, and he knows it. I don't agree with a lot of the school board does. They know it, but I'm not gonna jump in on this little smear campaign that they got going on. I'm sorry. If you guys can't smell the bullshit on that, you guys should know it's a smear campaign. Elections are coming up. They're using Ramsey's media to bash them, to denounce them, to blame every single little thing on them.
So we will give them a voice if they're up for it. You know, mister, Victor Perry, Jorge Barrera, miss Hilda Martinez, and, yes, mister Jaime Barrera, everybody, Morris Lipson, everybody. We'll we'll give everybody a voice. Now let's go back to the Stephanie part. So, yeah, that's why we did it. We it was a hard decision to make. I got with my team. Yes, I have a team. And we really thought long and hard about it. We were on the we're on, WhatsApp, texting back and forth. We did as much research as possible. We tried to write the article in the most down the middle the the most down the middle way, and and it just didn't matter.
Okay? Let me it just didn't matter because the high society just wasn't happy about it, and we all know who that is. Alright? You have all the crew that sends these awful text messages or these awful these awful, comments as if that hurts me at all. They try to, shruk my contacts. They try to tell my my sponsors not to support me, which is why we decided not to take in any more sponsors except we got T and E because they got balls. Thank you, T and E, solar energy for your solar services and your sponsorship, and thank you, Eagle Pass Popcon.
I wanna read to you some of these comments. Let's let's let's go over these really quick. Alright. I'm gonna share my screen really quick. Alright. If you guys have just joined us, please like and share, and I will do my best to catch up on these comments. Let me see. Hold on. Was it hard? Was it a hard decision or exciting decision? It was not exciting. It's not. People say we do this for sensational reasons. That's not true. That's why I'm here with my face in the camera explaining to you guys why we did it. No, it was not an exciting decision to make. If anything, we're a little bit pissed off because now we have to find this out. And knowing that we have this information and not share it, what does that make us? Right?
Part of the rest of the media that just doesn't share share shit and doesn't want you to know. We're not that's not our type. Now there are now okay. Look. If it was just one or two beers, okay, she got she got stopped. Okay. That's not worth sharing something, but come on. The lady had point 15 alcohol blood content. She knew what she was doing. She's a grown woman. She knows what's right and wrong. Alright? And this whole thing about feeling sorry for these people who make mistakes, let me give you an example of somebody, who did make a mistake really quick. Let's look at, let's look at Leroy Uresti.
Alright. He made a big mistake. Now I don't know what the case is with him, but, allegedly, he got stopped at a traffic stop, got searched, and apparently had drugs, which were cocaine on him, apparent according to the police report. It was a legend. I'm not sure if he was convicted or not. And he got charged with the drugs and reckless driving. And what happened to mister Uresti? You know, he's another prominent figure. He ran for tax assessor collector. And what happened to this man? He got fired. They fired him. They fired him, and they revoked his CDL license.
Wow. And did anybody did Elias Diaz jump to rescue him? No. Why? Because you're not part of the fucking Elias Diaz fan club. If you're not part of the kiss my ass club, you're not gonna get saved. So where's his where's his huge, the his huge mugshot picture to to attest for this man? Where's his where's his shot? Where's his second chance? No. Nowhere to be found. Right? But it's the mayor's wife. It's his best friend. It's his club, so he's gonna put himself out there. And, dude, we're not I I don't know about any of you guys, but I'm not falling for that bullshit. We all know that it's a political stunt. We all know he did that to not only denounce me, but to, take the heat off of miss Valdez. Oh, I left Joe's comment up here. You're welcome, man. You got to have that. Let's read another one here.
Moises Rocha, politicians in Eagle Pass cry out transparency only during election time. After that, transparency is kicked out the door. Yes. Absolutely. Miss Jimenez Ale Jimenez amends that. Please dig more on Elias, California background. I've heard so many things about her or him. It's Elias is a him. Let's go back here. If we would've got stopped out here, they wouldn't they wouldn't charge her because she's married to the mayor. Exactly. Well, I'm not gonna say that. I'm not gonna because Amy chief Amy Gonzalez is a good friend of mine. I don't believe that she would do something like that. I believe she would follow the law to the teeth no matter who it was.
So I'm just gonna leave it there. But you are right in some cases. You have to be part of the club to get a nice little feel sorry for me, memo from councilman Elias Diaz, and and and that that's what you gotta be. So and you know what? I'm gonna let all of you guys know right now. Excuse me. I just I just ate Chanel's burgers. It's great. They just reopened, by the way. It's really easy to be part of the club. You mean, Alessandro Del Toro aka Elias Diaz. Don't Google it. Yeah. No. Well, you know what? I stand correct on what I've said before. I never posted that man's past on, on the Internet, all his pull his his actual theater.
I mean, shit. I thought Elias Diaz is an actual cool porn name. I don't know. Anyways, that that again, that's not my MO. Now, of course, what's wrong with this picture? How now he's interviewing with Ramsey's Ramsey's media, the same media who posted all of Elias's pictures, porn pictures for everybody to see. And I even defended him. I said it was wrong. I think that was he's a human being. I think that he shouldn't be you know, that Ramsey's media should not be well, I guess it wasn't Ramsey's media back then before he sold out, that you shouldn't be posting people's pasts up like that. But this was years ago. I mean, everybody knows already that he was a past porn star.
What's, you know, what's the difference in bringing it up now? He still got elected, which is weird, but that's how it is here and it sucks and you get punished for speaking out. You know what? Let me yeah. I'm gonna share my screen here. But before I do, yes. This man got ridiculed. He got fired, lost his job. Do we have to go here? Yeah. What happened to him? PR bond, thanks to uncle Reese, got his charges dropped and we all saw the video. He was violent with the police officers, tried to say that they pushed him and then nudged his wife out of the way, and that's what prompted the police officers to do something about it. Where is he now? He still got a job. Still works for the county. Still with Ramsey.
Everything's good now. I really don't wanna put this one up because I know I'm gonna get so much hatred for it, but it's it's facts. Okay? Miss Alana Torralba, a prestigious figure in the community. Everybody knows her. She's an insurance agent. She's she's popular. She knows everybody. Everybody knows her. She's part of the Rotary Club. She's done a service. She allegedly punched her, somebody in the face, apparently known to be violent. And, of course, her significant other had just got who had recently got arrested, for the same for being violent as well.
And who made the 911 call? Well, who do you think? And where is she now? Still in the still in the Rotary Club. Still out there. Everything's cool. I got shit for it. I got tomatoes thrown at me like a motherfucker. Yes. She is the rotary lady or a notary oh, notary lady. I don't know if she does notary republic, but I do wish her well. No hard feelings, a lot miss Alana. I know she's still mad at me. This is the reason you are not in the Rotary Club. She is part of me. Exactly. You know, I did try to join the Rotary Club, and I immediately got uninvited because I'm not I wasn't pro at all. Well, that's my that's my theory, anyways. There's a lot of good people in that club, by the way.
You know, I don't have any problems with them or not or but, again, I tried to be that person to just stay quiet, don't say anything, move along for the ride, join the Rotary Club, serve the community. Don't don't don't post anything about anybody. Where would I be? Again, people say I have a I have a game, and I'm getting paid for this. I'm Team Mijares. No. I lost sponsors, guys. I lost my ticket to the Rotary Club. I get people looking at me sideways. Elias Diaz, when I shake his hand, he looks at me sideways like I'm a piece of shit. A lot of other people do as well.
It's it sucks, but that is the sacrifice that I make to make sure the wool is not completely over you guys' eyes. And now let me tell you this. We saw a podcast yesterday. Last night, I tuned in. It was Ramsey's Media, and I love how fucking fake that shit is. Do you do you think you would ever hear that guy say something nice about Elias Diaz if he wasn't getting paid for it? I don't think so, guys. This is the guy that posted porn pictures of him all over the Internet, and then all of a sudden, poof. No more. It was whatever Elias did was so amazing. It was amazing.
He stood up for and united this community. Shut the fuck up, man. Holy god. I couldn't watch the whole thing. I'm sorry. Excuse my language, guys. I'm not I I don't not trying to be explicit. You know? I'm I I am trying to be a public figure in this community because I have done stuff. And news flash for you, Ramsey's Media, I have done a lot in this community. I've created a Cub Scout place. I ran for city council. I have, I I've joined the Lions Club. I have relationships here. I helped start the the first Eagle Pass PopCon that happened here. I was the first to interview a celebrity here in Eagle Pass. I did a lot for this fucking community more than some of you some of you, born some of these, born and raised who hate outsiders.
Like, get the fuck out of here with that. Alright? I live here. My son goes to school here. I vote here. I've been here for five years. I've I've support the shining stars. I've donated money, but I just don't tout about it. But you wanna say I don't do shit for the community? Fuck out of here, man. This is what it is. That is haters for you. Okay? Oh, yeah. And and I did I did start the first, comic book club at at the ISD at San Luis. But you have a guy here in this other media who works for Ramsey, doesn't report anything on the county. By the way, does he report that he wants to get after the school board for or and start touting about this new law? He's probably live right now. He goes live just to take viewers away from me, and it's cute. I like it.
I'm not gonna check. But if you guys wanna talk about, a law with the school board of trustees not getting, contracts or, you know, do get double dipping? I mean, we have our treasurer, mister Rito Valdez, who transports bodies and collects money from the county. And, of course, he runs a mortuary. Conflict of interest? You're not gonna hear that on Ramsey's media. No. You're not gonna hear how Ramsey didn't pay his taxes. You're not gonna hear how they mishandled funds for the for the operation Lone Star. I mean, you'll see all the souped up vehicles and and new furniture they got.
My point, we all have a reason for doing things, guys. I don't get paid for this. This is my hobby. This is my service to you guys, and I'm getting crucified for this shit, and I'm still here. I'm not a victim, baby. Fuck no. I'm not gonna be a victim. You guys can come after my my contacts. You guys can go after my sponsors. I lost a family for the for the cub scouts because, political reasons, because I tell the truth, and it is what it is. You guys can try to gun for me all you want. I don't take it personal because that is how vengeful politics are, and I am the example. I will put myself as the example for you guys, the taxpayers, because you guys deserve to know who is representing you, who is representing me, who's representing me at at the hospital board to make decisions, Who's representing me as mayor, city council?
You know what I mean? And you and and you guys wanna vilify me for for telling the truth. That's funny. I I find it I find it hilarious. And no matter what you guys do, I'm still gonna be here. You guys can chip away at me all you want. I'm gonna share let let's go over some of these comments. Well, hang on a second. Oh, I'm gonna I'm gonna read this one. A moment of silence. Do you have the opportunity to do all that because anyone local who tries to do something always gets blocked by local politicians? Absolutely.
A moment of silence. The first Comic Con was actually done by three local people. Yours was the only backup by politicians, aka, the city of Eagle Pass. No. You're wrong. The first no. You're we're talking about a pop culture con. There's a difference. And it wasn't backed up by the city the first time. So sad that this is Eagle Pass. Yeah. But we wanna change that. Right? Can't what what is wrong with changing that, and what is wrong with holding our politicians accountable? Nothing. And that is why I made that first apology to all these comprivento because I always say comprivento is a cesspit for anonymity. Anonymity? Anonymity? Anonymous people. Let's just say that.
Alright. And I made an apology to them. I'm sorry, guys. You guys aren't cowards. This is what drives people to go anonymous. Because the minute you say something and you speak the truth, you get fucking punished for it and you get tomatoes thrown at you by the high society army. It is what it is. You have to have some big balls to do this kind of shit. Like I said, for all you guys who call me an outsider Oh, he's from California. He's not from Texas. I've done more than some some of these again, some of these born and raised have ever done in this community. I love this community. This is my fucking community. Go fuck yourself. Alright.
Let's see. Okay. I'm sorry, guys. And I thank you, Veronica, for backing me up. I love you. You're great. You're a great, cohost. You're the best. And we're gonna see some more podcast action with her soon. Alright. Let's go let's share the screen here. Let's share this Facebook page. Let's go to alright. Here's the post. Let's look at some of these comments, guys. Fucking hilarious, man. Alright. Let's look Victor Salazar starting from the top. Well, no. Let's let's try to get all the comments. Okay. That is called trying to find dirt on someone for reasons of jealousy, hate, etcetera.
If you ever receive a DWI, you have the same opportunity to go through the same process. It's legal. You got a point there. I don't know about the hate and the whatever. I don't hate miss Valdez. I don't hate Adon even though they've all been super ugly to me. I don't hate them. That's just not the way I work. How many of you have driven on the influence and got caught? Good one. One mistake should not overshadow a lifetime of service. True leadership is reflected in accountability, growth, and the continued commitment to serve the community with integrity. A single moment does not define a person's entire character or worth. Guys, it was just recent.
This is all I'll find a good one. This is all a spin, after Elias Diaz had posted, his let's let's go back and read that. I'm sure you guys let's see. Can I find Elias Diaz here? I hope I'm not looking on Google. Let's see. Now there's his personal. Ah, here it is. Let's let's okay. So he posts his mugshot and says, just because an attention starved adult with a cell phone decides to open up on Facebook page doesn't make it a news outlet. Dragging up stories from years ago or from I'm sorry. Excuse me. From a year ago isn't journalism. It's desperation for relevance. I'm posting my own mugshot to remind people that mistakes happen, and I won't allow myself or anyone else to be defined by their lowest moment.
Real growth doesn't come from tearing others down. It comes from owning your past and moving forward with purpose. We all have one. The real question is, what would you you what will you do with yours? I love you, Stephanie Valdez. Don't let anyone else tell your story. Yeah. How do I feel about that? Again, we have oh, can I can I maximize this for you guys? Okay. Yeah. I'm gonna get my face out of there. Now you can't tell me that this is not a political theater. You got 1.4 k 1.4 k reactions and 205 comments. Uh-oh. Oh, okay. We don't need to see that. Alright.
Come on, man. Those days are over. Alright. Let's see the comments. We all have tough patches in life. Sometimes we make mistakes, and that's how growth happens. Look at all this feel sorry for me bullshit, dude. I mean, that's his strategy, and he's very skilled at it. And, yeah, I called him out. Okay. Let's let's let's put me back in here. Yeah. I called him out on it. Everybody thinks that he is the best thing since sliced bread. But when you look at the wedding, which congratulations, by the way, Elaine and Elias, I hope you guys have a splendid marriage even though you probably hate me. I have nothing against gay people, by the way, and that's another thing they'll probably spin up is that I have a problem with gay people, but I was the first one to defend this dude when Ramsay's bull the pre Ramsay media was posting his porn shit all over the place. Did I get a fucking thank you? No. That's okay. I don't need it.
Very skilled at this, at manipulating the situation. Alright? So you're throwing shit at me because I decided to tell the truth. Now some people don't agree with it. I get it. You got it looks like I'm just throwing dirt at people. Hold on. I wanna read this. Let's go back up to, I don't know what he got arrested for, and I don't care if I really did and how they they portray me. I would have done research on that shit too, but it doesn't really matter. It was years ago. It's in oh, Beto says, just watch. If you don't understand, you can always go back and view it from the beginning. Oh, yeah. Thanks, Veronica.
Also, the way EP politics is actually so crazy to witness as as to witness as someone not from here, I hope things can change. I believe things can change. We just have to have the power to speak. But, again, I understand where some of you guys are coming from, why you don't want to speak out. And it's the same thing for the district too. I'm not defending the ISD. I have a lot of friends in the ISD and I know what happens there, but that's a lot of work environments too. You know, you you speak out, your boss doesn't like it, you get fired. I we all go through it.
What else what is new? Give us some new news. Alright. Speaking of what they say, we're not news. Let's go back to a moment of silence. We are many. This is why we use this profile. We are on, man. This temps entire thing. Let's go with Moises. Single moment does not define a person, but I bet there I bet there were more than one person better fit for that position on the medical board. Absolutely. Like I said, I'm not dogging Stephanie. I think she's great. I think she can speak. She's got skills. She can do it. You're on probation, man. How how credible can you be? I I get it. We make mistakes.
But why should you, someone who's on probation that just made a mistake, a very big mistake, be over someone like Claudia Wright or Anita Ramirez or any of the other candidates who had who had degrees or or have experience in the medical profession. Why? I gave people I do this to give you guys dialogue, to give you guys knowledge. So you guys can determine the fate of our elected officials, not the high society. They don't they no. I don't believe so. Why should they get to pick and choose who gets to get away with shit and who doesn't?
You know what I mean? They they got to choose that this guy couldn't get away with anything. Why was she able to? Why was this jackass able to? Now, you know, folks. It's all I got to say. I don't do this. I don't I don't do this for money. I just got rid of all my spot the rest of my sponsors, told them to kinda just sit this one out because, quite frankly, the way vengeful politics is, they try to hurt the people around you and not you because they know they can't fucking touch me. I don't work here for the ISD. I don't work for the city. I don't work for the county. I have a good job. I fully fund my platform, and I have volunteers to help me with it.
That's what happens when you build relationships, and that's what happens when you don't have to kiss ass to be a part of like, again, it's easy. It's so easy. I could easily take money from the city and say good things about them and, baby powder mayor Valdez and just make him glorified. I could easily do that and take the money. I can go to the county and and love Ramsey and say all these good things he's doing. I could do the same thing for the ISD and get paid and glorify them and you know what I mean? It's that easy. But the hardest thing to do is what people will not do, and that is tell the truth and hold these people accountable.
You are being held to a higher standard. Alright. I'm gonna get back to some comments here. Miss Jessie Guerrero says the thing about the last mistake is about learning from and then not continuing doing them, and everyone knows that they wanna cover the sun with the finger thumb. It's sad how many candidates in Eagle Pass have very good degrees but don't stand a chance because they are not part of the club. It's sad. Absolutely fucking right. You have hit the nail on the head. Okay. Let's let's go. Stephanie Hoskins says, so like I asked the time that you've been on KD Okay, you've tipped on around every subject. The ones you've mentioned now, what's holding you back those times, and why speak now? Good question.
Good question. Do you know why? Because I was playing that part of this. Don't say anything. They're gonna get mad at you. They're going to again, those were the fears that I'm getting. They're gonna they're gonna shirk your contacts. They're gonna tell people not to support you. Stay out of it, Reuben. Stay the fuck out of it. Just just be neutral. It it well, I am still neutral, but just don't rock the boat. Don't rock the boat. Good question, Stephanie. I'm not gonna I'm I'm not gonna lie to you guys. I have my reasons for doing things, and I'll tell you. Just ask me. Don't assume. Good question, Stephanie. I'll tell you guys anything you wanna know. I got nothing to fucking hide. I mean, I have a past too.
We all have a past. I've never been arrested, though. I've never been in jail. You can look me up. You know? But I'm not perfect. I'm still not perfect today. I still make mistakes. I I I'm gonna make more and more mistakes. That's not why I do that that is not why I shared that. Not sharing it because miss Valdez is not perfect. I shared it because you're a public official and transparency matters. And to find out for me to find out on the Internet or on an email that this person had been driving drunk and didn't tell anybody and just decided, well, I'm just gonna go into the hospital board and no one's gonna know about it. Sorry. You're you're, when you're on these seats of of for elected officials, you're supposed to build public trust.
You didn't tell and you know what? I think if Stephanie were to say that, hey, guys. Look. Before I do this, I got in I I did get in trouble last year. I but I'm on probation. I'm doing I'm doing whatever I can. I made a mistake. Kinda like the guy the the city council person in San Antonio. Look what she's going through. If you were to say that, you would have my support, miss Valdez. That's the honest truth. And I've tried to support these people. I've had meetings with Mayor Valdez. I try to build a relationship with all these city council people and be neutral. But the minute I say something, the minute I report something and they get mad at me, What the hell? Again, that's part of doing the doing the hard making the hard choice and not going the easy way by kissing people's ass or getting paid to do things.
This is my hobby. Sorry to say, brother, but EP will continue to be the way it unless people really start wanting to make a change and take out the trash. Absolutely right, Moises. Absolutely right. Alright. Moment of silence. I like yours. Isn't isn't weird that almost everyone who have who have a political position has ties with the EPISD? Not everybody. That's politics, ma'am. It's called neutral. Yes. Thank you, Meadow. Why do they want to be part of the school district? Oh, let's talk about that. Now that we're here. Oh, you know what? Hold on a second. Oh, yeah. So I just got word. See, I'm getting messages we as we go along that Elias has been arrested three times. Still hasn't learned his lesson.
I don't know. That's hearsay for me, but I'm not gonna go digging for this guy because I don't have time for that bullshit. If you guys wanna send me information, send it to me, and I'll post it. And I'll do my research, and I'll make sure everything's down the middle. Not that it matters. I'm still gonna get tomatoes thrown at me, but that's why I'm here for you guys, the out of towner, the Californian. I love this community, man. My kid's gonna grow up here. I pay my taxes here. My wife was born and raised here. This is my community.
You guys can throw that whole outsider bullshit all you want. Oh, by the way, there's plenty of people that are from California or from Ohio or from wherever that live here. And who do I who am I referring to? National Guard, some federal army, border patrol. Are you gonna go up and tell them they're not welcome here, that they're fucking outsiders and they can't do anything in this community? Get over yourself. Get over yourself. We need to make this community more welcoming, not not shun people away because they're from somewhere else. Get out of here with that bullshit. Why do they wanna be part of the school district? Because it's a power struggle, guys.
You think when Elias went up there into that into that, that school board meeting looking like he just rolled out of bed, which is another mockery because you if you're yeah. I feel like you're mocking this community because you're just saying, Look, I can dress however I want. Nobody's gonna fucking say anything to me. No. Hold yourself to a higher standard and represent us as a city councilman and be professional and dress like it. I'll give out on credit. The guy always wears a fucking suit. Good. He goes in there. Has this guy ever it's been year the ISD has been going through this scrutiny for years, this criticism for years.
Where has he been? Now of all times, you're gonna show up and, what we need to do we need to have more, mental health. We have counselors. It's just it's just a way it's a power grab. From what I hear, he wants to have a job at the school district. That makes sense. What I'm hearing rumors is that miss Rebecca Robinson is gonna come and run for the school board. That if if that happens, I want you guys to come back to this podcast, and we can we can talk after that. But, yes, I think it's a power grab. I think they're just trying to that's how we go that that's how we are here in this community. When When somebody makes more money or someone has more power than we do, we have to take them down. It shouldn't be that way. There's ways to do it. And and mister Mijares, same thing.
He needs to he this whole thing with the whole ISD thing and and, the whole school threats, he needs to he needs to go and unite too and be the bigger man too. I told the same thing to mister Velve to to Mary Valdez. You need to be the bigger person, and you need to unite everybody. Somebody does. Somebody needs to stop being stubborn and unite everybody, which by the way oh, that's another person. Look look at how Ramsey's media is totally smearing the ISD. You guys some of y'all wanted the heads of the people responsible for this for not reporting this school threat. Again, the teachers, the staff, the principals can't control the actions of the child. It starts at the home.
And they demoted mister Leija, who was the principal of I was at, not Seguin. I'm sorry. I'm having a moment. Sorry. Armando Serna. They gave him they they gave the public his head. They they denoted him. But yet we have we have mister Gabe I don't think it was Gabriel Villasenor, who was a part of the county planning, that the planning department was caught drinking, got suspended, or whatever, and then now Olga Ramos has him as head of the in the airport department. The fuck is that shit? Again, this is about fairness. This isn't about digging up dirt on people or making them or humiliating them. I don't humiliate women. I don't do that. I'm sorry. That's not that's not how it works. But when you're a public official or you're a seating board member, you're fair game. I'm sorry your life is not public.
So be honest. And all this shit, for and all this all this all the groupies and all the high society wanna justify this, that's sick. Alright? You guys for for just to let you guys know, you guys outnumber the high society. You really do. You guys have a voice. When you I don't know if you guys ever seen A Bug's Life where all the bugs are scared of the grasshoppers, but there's, like, fucking billions of those ants and then only a few of those grasshoppers. This is kinda like how it is, and they don't want you guys to know that. Speak up.
And if I have to do it and take the shit for it, that's what I'm doing, man. I lost sponsors. I lost relationships. I've lost people who said that they were my friend, but, you know, when people say they're your friends, but I guess that part is more important. It is what it is. And so now the true relationships I have are in danger, so I have to I have to put those aside to be able to do this for you guys. I don't do it for the fucking money. Do records report. Do a I'll even do a records request for you guys and put all the media from the ISD, from the county, from the city. I'm not getting paid shit. This is my hobby.
I have a good job. I'm not gonna tell y'all where I work. Fuck that. No. It's like, maybe one day I'll tell you guys where I work or you guys can figure it out. It's no secret. Yeah. Yeah. You're right. You're right. Yes. Yeah. I I wouldn't call it a high society either. That's just my nickname for them. Where are we? We're at almost an hour, so we're gonna close-up here right now. I'm not gonna keep you guys too long because I gotta go to bed. In closing, you guys have the voice. Again, I'm not a victim. These people wanna make me a victim.
You know, you got people who these people who think they have the balls to call you out on social media, and then you confront them and they they cower like turtles in a shell. You know? When you see them, they won't shake your hand. How petty is that shit? If I was mayor or city council person or met or a hospital board member and you didn't like what I'm doing, or you don't agree with me, or you're criticizing me, you know what my response to you would be? What can I do to win you over? What can I do to make you happy? You're obviously unhappy with me. Cool. I get it. It's gonna happen. What can I do for you to change your mind?
Not, oh, if you don't like me, then I'm just not gonna support you. Oh, you don't like me? Well, you know what? I'm gonna tell this person not to support you. It's called tyranny, guys. And now we have not I mean, we now we have not only that, but we have the media who I get it. You guys gotta make a living. They're my colleagues. But you have one certain media who is a lap dog, sold out. You know what's funny? Is that people tell me you ready for this? Ruben, you're the next Isaac Ruiz. You know what my response is to that? No. I'm not the next Isaac Ruiz, but I am gonna pick up where he left off back when he actually did tell the truth and when he was actually was for the community instead of boasting about how he does his job.
And, like, that's like me fucking touting how, oh, I deserve to be commended because I served you a burger at McDonald's. He does his job by doing grants. So, yeah, we're just picking up where the maverick times left off before they were actually real. Alright, guys. That's it for me. Shout out to TNE Solar or I'm sorry, TNE Energy. Guys, stay tuned for all this stuff. Stay tuned. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. Drop me an inbox. Follow us. We're here to tell you the truth because this is our hobby. We love this community.
We love you guys, whether you throw tomatoes at us or not. It's about service and that's what Christ did. He served he served those who didn't like him, not those who kissed who tried to kiss ass. I'm Ruben Camarillo. Remember, guys, if you don't know about all this shit going on, now you know Eagle Pass. Stay cool. Stay strong. Rock on. Remember, this community is only stronger together. We'll see you guys later. Take it easy, guys.
