In Episode 14 of the Now You Know Eagle Pass podcast, “Juice,” I open with a reality-check segment on accountability, fairness, and the pressures of local politics. I share my background—service in the Army, community work with veterans, animal welfare, youth programs, and local small business promotion—to underline why we push for transparency. From there, we dig into recent community flashpoints: alleged efforts to pressure sponsors and youth programs over our coverage, the line between criticism and personal attacks, and the importance of keeping kids and small businesses out of political retaliation.
We then tackle headline local issues: the silence from the Maverick County Hospital District amid questions surrounding board member Stephanie Valdez’s probation status and public conduct; concerns about professionalism after a widely shared video of city officials appearing to drink while representing Eagle Pass; and questions about potential political staging at school board and city council meetings. We stress due process, factual sourcing, and community standards for leaders—without fear or favor. We close by urging constructive dialogue, civic participation, and safety during upcoming Halloween events, reinforcing that our mission is to inform and strengthen Eagle Pass by holding leaders accountable and keeping the community engaged.

[00:02:54] Unknown:
It's the weekend. Yep. As we get go along, guys, if you guys are here, thank you for joining us tonight. Happy Sunday. I don't know. I saw the Dallas Cowboys playing. I really didn't watch. I did see the score that Denver was creaming them. I don't know how it went. Guys, drop a comment. Please like and share this podcast. You guys don't wanna miss this. We are here, to serve this community, tell the truth with no politics tie no ties to politics. Alright? This is why we're here. This is why we do the things that we do because we wanna be honest. We wanna keep our leaders honest, accountable, hold them to a higher standard.
And let me tell you something, man, it's been rough. It's been rough, but it's been predictable. And this is where I'm gonna have my reality check segment right here. But before we do, while we get more people coming in, so the topics of the day is going to be, of course, the silence of Maverick County Hospital District on, the currently on probation, first lady board of directors. Stephanie Valdez. Stephanie Valdez. No. I didn't forget her name. I there was another title that she had. She it was vice chair, I think. I don't know if she's vice chair of the Maverick County Hospital District, board of directors. I don't know if if it's the Chamber of Commerce.
Whatever the case may be, yes. We're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk a little bit about, the court case with, ram judge Ramsey English Cantu with and, of course, Maverick County commissioner, Jerry Morales. Jerry Morales. Yeah. And then we're gonna talk, we're gonna share some stuff with you. So hang in there and, TMI guys load up. We're gonna get ready. Before I do, those of you guys who do not know me okay. I'm just gonna give you a little tidbit about myself. Alright? I'm gonna share some pictures with you guys really quick. I think I still have my photos here. Don't worry, guys. They're not there's no porn pictures or naked pictures or anything, so don't worry.
I'm gonna share my screen here with you guys. It's really quick. Alright. A little tidbit about myself. Okay? If you guys don't know who I am, for those of you who think I'm just a butthole and by the way, I can't curse anymore. There's a reason for that. And I you know what? I can curse. I'm gonna choose not to curse, and this is why, and I'll tell you why. Alright. So let's get started here. Right? Let's see. Let's talk about me for first and foremost. I'm a dad. There's me looking all skinny, and that's my little boy, Jakey. That was back in 2014.
Wow. That strapping young lad there who doesn't have a pan setter and all that other stuff. Alright. Alright. I did join the military. I did swear in. There's me, young lad me back in 2014, swearing in to serve our country. Been in the army for six years. You can see some pictures of me here looking all crazy. There's me with the crazy mustache. I did six years with an honorable discharge. So those of y'all wanna say that I'm I was discharged dishonorably, dude, you have to do so much to get dishonorably discharged. I was honorably discharged. I served well.
Here we go. There's me with my squad here. But when I moved right before I moved to Eagle Pass, that was in Catulla. We did the first crisis in 2018, the border crisis. Let's keep going. I'm a dog lover. See me, there's me. Then I'm actually now gonna be a part of the animal wellness board. There's me and my dog Thatcher. He's a American Staffordshire, goofy looking guy. What else? Came to Eagle Pass. Did the first comic book club here at, San Luis. Kids loved it. You know? Nice. Loved it. They loved it to introduce comic books. They and Pokemon cards. We they didn't even know that there was a comic shop here in town, and we let them know that.
I am a Lions Club member, and I also support the Shining Stars. You can see that there. Great. I love that. Yep. Shining Stars. A big, big shout out to, Marie Carmen Morales and those who run that program for the Shining Stars. Alright. There's me and, Mayor Rolando Salinas there. I was at one of the Noche Americanas. Love to network and communicate with people. I'm a big huge promoter. I love promoting small businesses. There's me with miss Connie So to. Connie So to from the backyard. From the backyard. Yes. Connie, you need to start doing some more events. We need to get back to dancing. And that's, of course let's go back here.
I did run for city council. Alright. There's me with my eyes closed. That's a terrible picture, but I had one with it open. That is with miss Anita Ramos' Queens. Missy I think okay. Of course. And I'm here with the mother of the daughter the mother of, the miss Eagle Pass right here, miss Vidoni Catena here.
[00:08:07] Unknown:
Was she the was she
[00:08:09] Unknown:
was was your daughter miss Eagle Pass back then? No. She it's barely this year. Oh, barely this year. Ah, okay. So I wanna make sure. What else? You know, I am a veteran. Okay? I do advocate for the veterans and law enforcement here. That's me back then when I had a shaved face. I don't know why I decided to shave my face just to expose all the chins.
[00:08:31] Unknown:
There Don't do it again.
[00:08:33] Unknown:
Yeah. There's my good friend Amy Gonzalez on my right. Of course, you got then, lieutenant Fuentes, now captain. And, of course, you had the former chief Garza. Alright. And then there's my other buddy that I'm so sorry. I didn't I don't I'm really bad with names. And and, I'm so sorry, man. I don't think we talked that much. I did run against city council against this man, Adio Garcia. He beat me really bad. And we but we still network and we're good. We talk. You know, I gotta network with everybody. Right? I yes. You actually love that, by the way. Again, you know, promoting promoting small businesses. I hear my wife laughing. Promoting small businesses, doing veteran things. You know what I mean? For those and this is for those of you who are for that one person that says that I don't I don't do very much in this community. Well, here's the proof, guys. This was for me. Actually, I did it. I was a part of a taste, that that was a taste judge for the, border patrol. No. I'm sorry. It was the stock show, barbecue cook off, and that was fun.
I was I am also a former DJ for KINL ninety two point seven. There's the legendary Rick Mendez along with Kyle LaFlores and my good friend Alex Flores there. He won that Dallas Cowboys Cup and then threw it away, I'm sure, or gave it away. No. He gave it away. Sorry. There's me broadcasting some sports there with my buddy, BigDog. Back when we were with KINL, we did some broadcasting for the girls' basketball for Eagle Pass Pass High School. And, of course, there's me acting goofy there at the radio station. What else, guys? Oh, yes.
There's my good friend, Danny Mendoza. We, we The Popcon. Yep. We orchestrated the first Popcon, Eagle Pass Popcon here. We had Popcon two, and now we're going up to three. And don't forget that I will be joining the Golden Fox next week on Saturday. They will be interviewing me. That's gonna be weird. Of course. It should be interesting. It is. We did have the first celebrity here in Eagle Pass. There's Peter Dante from, the Waterboy. He plays the quarterback that makes fun of Bobby Boucher and, Adam Sandler. Great guys from the he's from Grandma's Boys. He's done lots of other movies. We had him on the podcast. There I am hanging out with him. Pretty cool guy. Wish we coulda had him again. What else, guys? Again, more small businesses that I love to promote. I love walk and roll. My big my my good friend, Rudy Rudy Trevino, and he's also with LuxBot.
Shout out to Michelle Trevino also as well. And, of course, we've done podcast with, LC's Power Hour with KZ and Lisa Kane. Big advocate of oh, and, of course, we're advocate of pageants. And, oh, guess who's guess who's that on the right? Yes. We, at one time, did get you know, I again, I don't know what I did for him to dislike me, but I guess I'm just gonna keep giving it more of a reason. And, of course, we play neutral. We love to interview our, politics. Alright? There's us, with, Eddie Morales, our state representative, along with his lovely wife, Helen. And, of course, there's, Clay Fisher and, of course, my girl, the OG.
Are you barbecue? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We're shouting out all these barbecue too. Miss Valerie Rodriguez, she's still around. We gotta have her on again. And, of course, I I can go on all day, guys. I know you're gonna get bored. I can get I can go on all damn day, alright, on how much stuff that I do for this committee. There's me. I was actually a past commander for the American Legion. Alright? There's my good friend, Diana, of course, and there's the rest of city council as we were getting a, a proclamation for Veterans Day. Of course, I've and then, you know, becoming a journalist working with, miss Flavia Flores and Aida Castano. Aida Castano. Yes. Yes. Don't worry. I'm not gonna I'm gonna try not to forget it. I don't forget anybody's name. Sometimes I have brain farts. And, of course, we did elections.
We there there I am with miss Jessica Ramon. We supported all these, young people. Of course, there's mister mayor Aaron Valdez himself. We supported everybody. And, of course, we had the first
[00:12:38] Unknown:
debate big debate.
[00:12:40] Unknown:
The first big debate. It's not the first debate ever, but it was the first legitimate debate, I have to say. Mhmm. I knocked down the Eagle Pass Business Journal. We we killed it. Unfortunately, some people just decided not to share it. That kinda pissed me off a little bit. Now we worked very hard on that one to get off. And it was very professional. All three candidates, we had them all there, very professional. The questions were legit. We created the questions ourselves.
[00:13:07] Unknown:
Very loud and clear. Very loud and clear. Very loud and clear. Audio, everything. Picture and everything.
[00:13:11] Unknown:
Everything. And everybody was happy with it. You know, we they got to go at each other. They brought up some good facts. Those were the days of the election. Alright. And I got some pictures here that, you know, we'll show in a second. But, yes, that's a little tidbit about me if you guys don't know. Let me look at the comments really quick. Yes, Clay. Shout out to Clay and, of course, my wifey. Come on. You know, I don't forget about you. Alright? She's the bread she's my bread and butter. She helps me out. She makes sure I don't do anything stupid along with you know, I got two women that make sure I don't do something stupid. The Ruben toddlers are awesome. Keep up the great work. Alright, guys.
Big dog. Oh, yeah. Luna, nice to see you, brother. Alright. So let's get started. Alright. So that's the reason why I put that there is because from telling the truth, you know what? I'm gonna I'm gonna maximize myself here. So this is the the reality check segment. I put that there for you guys because I don't tout on the things I do all the time. I don't toot my own horn, and sometimes you do deserve to toot your own horn at sometimes. But when we have those who are set out to destroy us, to shut us up for speaking the truth, for getting the truth out, for putting out factual things, the only to have, the bottom of the barrel try to destroy us from within, and I'm gonna talk about that right now.
One of the things I do also is Cub Scouts. Alright? And I'm not gonna touch too bait too much on that because that is that is something that I get involved in with my son. I want to, get the youth to, have more to do here in Eagle Pass. So that is why I helped create Cub Scouts pack eighty five sixty two. There's three more actually. There's two eighty eight. There's zero six two six, and then there's twenty five forty three. Now what I am getting what I did get, of course, when you tell the truth, again, you have people trying to destroy you from and if they can't and they don't have anything to touch you with, they go after your contacts. They go after your organizations. They go after the programs that you have affiliations with. In this case, pathetically, our youth. Okay?
Now I have received word from the VFW, which is our our, sponsors for a Cub Scout pack. So when you have a Cub Scout pack, you have to have a charter organization to sponsor you. And in this case, it's the VFW, the Veterans of Foreign Wars. I have recently received word that there have been complaints, former complaints from a couple of people that I will mention, I will mention by name. Get ready for it, guys. Making complaints that we curse too much on our podcast. Not that we're slandering people, not that we're telling lies, not that we're being vulgar because we're cursing on our podcast.
Jesus age Christ. And I all I can do is laugh at that because now the the possibility of an investigation because I had a video of me and my kids hiking, in this recent camp. Nothing. We were nothing. No political things were said. We were promoting, we were promoting all Cub Scout packs because we have certain media entities that are trying to promote other Cub Scout packs to spite me, to make sure that other packs get more, publicity than so just to spite me. Like, that's gonna bother me whatsoever. You know? And it's really funny and pathetic how when they do things like this oh, by the way, yeah, the first complaint was by yours truly, the co the or the the editor of the Maverick Times, Isaac Rees, made a complaint to the VFW saying that I curse too much on my podcast and that it's not appropriate that I have kids involved in my videos, which I don't ever curse in my videos of my kids. That was the first hike video I've ever made to promote all Cub Scout packs.
He failed miserably because that's what happens when you're a slimeball and you try to mess with the youth. You fail, especially when someone like me has a foothold in this community. I get like, they don't think that I can't hear this, that I don't hear this stuff, that I don't see things, that people don't tell me these things. And then that failed miserably. And so when that fails, they send another person, and we're gonna talk about this in a minute, mister Luis Aranda decided to send an email to the big VFW. So I'm getting informed that there is a possibility that I might be investigated.
Oh, investigated for what? For cursing on my podcast? We wrote an article about this guy apparently having a political agenda along with our councilman to try to get a city liaison having to do with the EPISD, and this guy rants and raves on I I see his comments. I just don't respond. I just eat my popcorn and watch how ridiculous these comments are. Hold on. Let me take that banner off. It's annoying. And that's how they do the kick and scream. They try to tear you up with within. And let me let you guys know that if, say, I don't know, the VFW doesn't wanna do Cub Scouts anymore. I'm not saying they're going to do that. I hope they don't do that. If I have to separate myself from Cub Scouts, whatever.
But this is threatening the youth organiz the youth programs. This is for our kids. And to spite me, you're gonna try to destroy an, an organization for youth. How pathetic are you? What is it? Yeah. To to and not and not just to him. No. This this message isn't just for him. This is for those who are putting him up to it. This is those who reach up the bottom of the barrel and try to get those who have stuff to lose to be the fall guys. How pathetic are you? Grow up. Get a grip. If you don't like what I'm saying, don't follow me. If it's the truth and you have nothing to fight on and your solution is to destroy and to tamper with sponsors or anybody that I decide to take a photo with or anybody who supports me, that says a lot about you, man.
Says a lot about you. And it's funny because it's not hurting me. I think the more that you do this, the more that you take away the people that are connected to me, the people who support me, the organizations that I'm affiliated with, nonetheless, I'm gonna have to lose. I will hit you harder. In fact, I will not have anything holding me back. So, Elias Diaz, mayor Aron Valdez, if this is your way of trying to get at me or strike fear in this whole this whole Mexican style of politics, to try to strike fear into those who try to speak out, it's not gonna work. It's not gonna work. I'm still gonna be here.
I'm still gonna go live. I'm still gonna tell the truth, and I'm going to hit you harder and harder and harder and harder until we can make honest politicians out of both of you. So you have my number. If you have something that you wanna talk about, I'm right here. I'm right here. Don't use little people like Isaac Ruiz. Don't use little people like this new Luis Saranda, which we're gonna talk about him to, to get to me. You wanna talk to me? You have my number. I'm right here. And that's a reality check, guys. Guys, that is just super sad. I take you you can say what you want about me, but leave the kids alone.
Leave the small businesses alone. Leave people alone who want to support whoever they want to. And that's why we're here. That's why I'm here, to change that. To change that because this is it it's it's pathetic. Pathetic. And and we're it doesn't matter. You're not gonna shut me up. I'm still gonna be here. Even if I lose my computer, I'll I'll do a a regular test, and we'll still just keep doing what we're doing. It is what it is. Brenna, what's your take on that, by the way?
[00:21:57] Unknown:
Well, it's very upsetting because, I mean, they know your number. Like you said, why don't they call? They see us in public places. Why don't they approach us? You know? I know. Because they They do everything behind the screen because that's all they're good at. And it's sad what Isaac Reese is doing because, I mean, he does over here his podcast, which they're not podcast for me. They're live streaming from a Facebook while he's drinking outside. Like, you can see he's drinking. So what what is what is wrong with our podcast?
[00:22:25] Unknown:
You know? That's pretty upsetting. And that that's not even the only thing. I know we all drink and stuff. I mean, I don't need to have a I don't need to have a beer or have three beers in to talk to people. I mean, I guess that that's how their way that's how their way is of coping when I guess well, I don't know. I don't know what to tell you. But, you know, you have we and you know what? I tune in to his podcast. I do. I'm not gonna act like I don't. I'm not gonna lie and say I don't. But he was just on on the podcast saying how, teachers or some I'm sorry. Some principals and some administrators have to suck a d to and open their legs to our superintendent, Samuel Mijares, to be at the position where they're at.
I was just like, you know what? I this poor bastard is gonna get sued. If he doesn't, I'd be surprised. But, anyways, I very unprofessional. I closed the chapter on that. I've had my beef with him, and he settles to try to take away my affiliate to try to go and complain to my affiliates. That's that that's how weaselly you are, man. And, you know, if you have any sense, it doesn't work. It's not gonna work. I have a foothold in this community. I actually do stuff to serve this community. It's not gonna work, man. So give it a rest. Alright? And and I I closed that chapter. I spent the main the remainder of my time fighting with this guy. I re I totally regret it because it got me nowhere.
[00:23:53] Unknown:
And I moved on. Jealous.
[00:23:56] Unknown:
I moved on. Mhmm. I moved on. And it's funny how these politicians wanna still use this guy to try to smear the ISD that's because we know that elections are coming in. Mhmm. My biggest thing our biggest thing is that you know what? It's not up to the our politicians with power should not dictate who gets to stay in office or not, Whether you want if you're upset with with Mijares or if you're upset upset with the the school board, it's the parents' the taxpayers'
[00:24:24] Unknown:
decision to Who decide. Exactly.
[00:24:27] Unknown:
Yes. To vote in new board members if you're not happy with it. If you're Chris Hiller or if you're Jaime Barrera, you should speak out more if this is such a problem. They've tried I mean, we're we're monitoring all this stuff with the ISD. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna keep poking at it because we have so many people that are reporting on it. Why am I gonna put out old news? If you, if, like I said, you're not happy with it, they've had these q and a's. And then this is gonna come back to our first topic is we have mister Luis Aranda. Now I wrote an article about this guy. Alright? He got a little p o he got a little p o'd. If you wanna check out our page and look at the the article that I wrote, it was it was an opinion. It was an op ed. And first of all, we saw mister Aranda just come out of nowhere, registered nurse on, October 13 for the school board meeting regarding these, these school threats. And mind you, I've already told you guys my opinion on this. The school threats, starts at the home.
You guys can badger the board, or you guys can badger jihadists, or you can badger the teachers, or you can blame it on the administration or blame it on the schools. You can blame it on everybody else, but nobody has ever blamed the parents.
[00:25:43] Unknown:
It starts at the home. Except education starts from home.
[00:25:48] Unknown:
Absolutely. Not just at school. You don't just drop your kids up at school and they raise your kids for you. I'm sure that some parent there's a lot of that in society where parents leave their kids on iPads and then they send them to school. And then they see these things on social media, these these, gun threats, and they think it's funny. They think it's funny, and they make these threats. And then we had a mishap. We had a mishap with the whole the the the letters at at, Armando Serna, and they did something about it. Now was there miscommunication?
Yes. Did the superintendent genuinely think he was doing the right thing? Yes. Do we all agree with it? No. No. No. We don't agree. Sometimes we don't agree, and that's okay. You can disagree with that. But to drag this out and make this something political, can you not smell the BS? And this is why we're talking about this man. So this man goes up at the, on the school board, and it's a well written essay talking about government codes.
[00:27:03] Unknown:
Sure not coming out of him.
[00:27:05] Unknown:
No. And he's reading Or he's not. Yeah. He's reading, he's and it's okay because sometimes I gotta write stuff down. I'm not dogging the guy. So do I. Of course. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There's nothing wrong with that. But as a parent, just me, I wouldn't be worried about government codes. I would be like, look, mister Mijares, this is BS. What I don't look what's well, look what is what is happening here. We have to do something about this. I'm urging the school board to do something about this. This is getting ridiculous. We're having more and more school threats all every single time. This is the third time it's happened. And I'm gonna be emotional because my kid goes to that school, even though he goes to that school.
I would be emotional. I wouldn't be worried about government codes or or sounding like I'm a politician because honestly, I'm I'm gonna be straight up. When you cover politics as much as I have for a while and you get to know these people, you you you you start to know what they sound like. And on that piece of paper that he's reading, it sounds like Councilman Elias Diaz. I'm sorry. That's my opinion. You guys can go back and watch it. Go on the YouTube channel and watch this man's speech. Does not sound like him. I don't know him, but I I damn well know that it does not sound like someone who's interested in or who's concerned.
It sounds like he's it's it's a political agenda, and that's what I meant on that article. It doesn't sound like him. It sounds like Elias Diaz. I feel like Elias Diaz went up there and talked twice. What a coincidence. Right? Alright. So now I don't I know that everybody's getting pissed off at me at criminal records and stuff, but, this man was a former border patrol agent who was arrested back in 09/2018 for stealing government property and pawning it off for $200. This article is from the Laredo Morning Times. I'm not gonna go and look at the records to see if he was convicted or not.
You guys can do that. I'm not gonna be I'm not gonna be wasting my time trying to dig dirt up on this guy because he's nothing to me. I'm sorry. I don't mean that to be an insult, but he's not.
[00:29:14] Unknown:
Oh, what a way of showing up to the children.
[00:29:18] Unknown:
I mean, everybody like I said, everybody makes mistakes. Everybody Of course. That's this is the biggest topic. Hold on. Let me let me, let me show these comments on here. There we go. Sorry, guys. I'll we'll go through your comments in a second. We appreciate you guys, tuning in. Oh my god. It's 08:45 already? Good god, we still have so much to talk about. But yes, I don't know. This is my speculation. If you guys can't see the BS, I'm here to to to try to guide you on this. They're I don't know what they're thinking about when they affiliate with self themselves with people like this, whether he served his time or did it or not or if he's he or he's done with all that stuff. I'm sure you can't get a federal job anymore.
I mean, I was a you know, I was in the United States Army. I worked for the government since I was 25. There's no way the government's gonna trust this guy anymore. So Oh, he was a border patrol agent. Yes. He was a border patrol agent, stole equipment, and pawned it off apparently, allegedly. I don't know if he was convicted or not. Look up the look up the Laredo. He was arrested in Eagle Pass. I'm not sure what agency arrested him or what how he went to court or if they convicted him. Guys, do the do your research. But, and that's who we're dealing with here. And not to mention, he was at the city council meeting.
[00:30:42] Unknown:
As well.
[00:30:43] Unknown:
At the city council meeting, a week later. A week later, talking about wanting to have a city liaison, be to interfere and to be to be sitting to be planted inside the the ISD. Do you guys not see this? What parent who is worried about their kids and school safety goes to a city council meeting and asks for a city liaison. And then you have Elias Diaz stand up and give a standing ovation. Oh, bravo. Leave your number, please. Leave your number. Oh. Oh my god. He didn't do that verbatim, but that's he might as well have. You guys can watch that on the city of Eagle Pass, YouTube channel. And by the way, when it comes to citizens' communication, they're not supposed to answer back. You have the mayor will say, thank you very much, and that's it. Not, oh, leave your number with so and so. Oh, we we we'll talk. So we can collaborate.
So we can collaborate. Give me a break, guys. How stupid do these people think we are?
[00:31:52] Unknown:
It was very obvious it looked like a setup, but anyways.
[00:31:57] Unknown:
I mean, honestly, my my wife was like, you know what? It fooled me. I'm not saying everybody's stupid, but that is how we perceive things. Mhmm. Let's go through some comments. Juliana Ortega says, that's sad because they are only hurting the kids. People are so immature. Yeah. That Yes. Omar Martinez says, thank you for being a grown the grown one. It takes a pair. Yes. It does. And you know what? It takes a toll. It takes a toll. I'm human. I bleed. I have a heart. I don't wanna be exposing, our mayor's wife and putting making myself look like the bad guy. But you know what? I like I said, I tried working with these people before. It's not about it's not personal.
It's not vengeance. This is for my community that I love, that I moved to. I may not have been born and raised here, but I fall in love with this place. And I will take the hits on the chin for you guys no matter what. And I'm gonna be and we're gonna be here, and we're gonna tell the truth, and we're gonna put out and I'm sorry. Not not I'm not trying to put down my colleagues who are out there in the media, but they have a living. They this is I don't make a living doing this. They make a living doing this. The minute they say something bad, their contract is up, and that's it. So I feel for them, and they have to do whatever they can to live and make and to have a business. Danny, the power powers of the people. Exactly. Yes, sir. Absolutely.
Chico Delano says, damn. Manny Fresco Peralas. Hello. Good evening. Hello, Manny. Welcome to Eagle Pass where everything is political. Yes. Absolutely. Yep. We're getting all these reactions. Alright. So let's let's continue. Yeah. So and, again, this falls in with this dude coming and putting an email on me saying, like like, I wasn't gonna find out. What a coincidence. Instead of saying that I'm slandering him or I'm lying about him or I'm treating him ugly on the Internet, He says I'm cursing too much on my podcast. Give me a break, guys. That that's all you got?
That's the best you got? Alright. Well, we all know why they pull these types of people. And they're the fall guys. That's pathetic. You know what I mean? So I know how these guys work. I spent time with these guys. This is this is how it works. This this all falls into, with the hospital board. We're gonna get to that in a second with Stephanie. Okay. That's the next topic. Now that you guys know everything that's going on with the ISD, if you guys have any complaints, put it in with the ISD, talk to this talk to Sam only had his as his door open to anybody. If you guys wanna talk to him, go for it. I don't now it's up to you whatever relationship you have with the guy. I don't know. I don't spend too much time with him.
I've only talked to him maybe three times with the interview and stuff. So, you know, do something. I mean, they're they're they're they're doing stuff. They're they're holding a q and a. We're we're we're trying to get them to open the dialogue between ISD and the city and to be able to collaborate with each other. We did that for we were the first one to break that interview with with Samuel Mijares on the whole incident with the with Armando Serna, And he was more than willing to talk to us despite how much I disagree with the guy he knows.
[00:35:24] Unknown:
He knows I agree. Disagree with him. But we still talk.
[00:35:28] Unknown:
I wish with with with Arun Valdez, how much I disagree with him, I wish he was able to keep an open dialogue, but he doesn't wanna do that. So it it is what it is. But, anyways, and and we all know he's giving you a phone call, mad at you, saying that he's not gonna support us. Am I right?
[00:35:49] Unknown:
Mhmm.
[00:35:50] Unknown:
He has my good friend Anita Ramos Ramirez, who was also a, candidate for the Maverick County Hospital District. He's called her telling her that's why he's hanging out drinking with Bruno because he's called her, got pissed off at her because she didn't invite him to an event. You don't believe me on that? Ask her about it. She'll tell you. I don't think she's afraid of anybody. Very petty. Very petty. And I think we really need to get together and work on this and start fresh. I'm willing to always. And I I know you're telling me that you hate me. You hate that I have such a good heart and that's you know, but why not? Why why not be the bigger person?
Alright. Next topic, guys. We're gonna go over the, issue with the Maverick County Hospital District and, of course, our board member, Stephanie Valdez. Now we wrote an article, and we shared we've already had this on the last episode of You Haven't Taught It where we, put out the court documents on her recent arrest back which was last year. And we got a lot of crap for it, but it was the truth. We get sent these things. We do our research. We, investigate, of course, the other media. You know, Isaac likes to say that we don't investigate, that we're inexperienced, but it's very easy. A monkey can do it. You just gotta you just gotta know how. And she was arrested for driving the wrong way on a highway and was intoxicated with a blood count level of zero point one fifth oh, I'm sorry. I'm going all these numbers. Point 15.
Point 15, alcohol blood content. You guys can catch it on the articles. We've showed it. Just go ahead and follow us. Check out our page. We have articles there. We have the the police report. Mister Valdez himself was there. Now it's not about exposing miss Valdez missus Valdez. It's about fairness. Okay? It's about fairness, how unfair it was that the the the Maverick County Hospital District appointed this person knowing well, I'm sorry. Let me take that back. They didn't know, or did they? That's the question. Did they know Did they know that she was on probation, or did they overlook did they overlook it, or did they miss it? Either way, it's a lose of the situation because, Veronica, the the the the bylaws for the Maverick County Hospital District, and you can look at them up, just Google them, Maverick County Hospital District bylaws.
It falls into the ethics portion where trustworthiness and honesty goes out the window when you don't Exactly. Exactly. So they've been silent. We've been reporting on this for a couple of weeks now or a week or yeah. About a week or two. And they have said nothing. Nothing. We have not heard anything from the board. We have not heard anything from mayor Valdez, and we have not heard anything from Stephanie. All we see is that they're just well, we'll get to that too. Yeah. So, yes, Tico driving the wrong way. Yes. They were driving she was driving the wrong way in an on the on a highway. It went from driving while intoxicated. They gave her an adjudication and made turned it to into, obstruction of the highway.
She's currently on probation. She has to have a breathalyzer in her car, and, yes, she's still getting I can't say the word. I'm not I can't afford a cuss word. Damn it. Plastered. I'll say that. Plastered. And we'll show you right now. I wanna get your guys' reaction to this because to me, in my opinion, this is like mocking the community in my book. Alright? So here, we're going to find this is on Councilman Diaz's Facebook profile page. Alright. And decided to post a video of the mayor himself, Stephanie Valdez. We're gonna share this screen. We're gonna share our screen with you guys here so you guys can check it out.
Alright. So don't go away. Okay. Here it is. I'm gonna maximize it for you guys. This is them at a Tablagata in where in Mexico?
[00:40:41] Unknown:
Tablagata, Allende Coahuila. Allende what? Allende.
[00:40:46] Unknown:
Allende Coahuila. Allende Coahuila. Okay. Sorry. So this is Don't apologize. I gotta work on my Spanish. I know. I wanna let's watch the video and then we'll go for some reactions, guys. Drop as many comments as you want and we'll go through it. Alright? Let's let's take a look.
[00:41:04] Unknown:
Hello, Eagle Pass. I'm here with councilman Elias Diaz, councilwoman Jessica Ramon Hi. And Bridgeport, Stephanie MCHP? MCHP board member or vice chair. Vice chair. And board member for the Chamber of Commerce, Stephanie Valdez. Hello. We have Bruno,
[00:41:27] Unknown:
our distinguished fan
[00:41:30] Unknown:
pageant. We have Christopher Taylor here with, board member, and our pals with Rontera right here, helping Eagle Pass develop and grow.
[00:41:44] Unknown:
And we are here, here, guys. We've taken a trip out to Ayel De Coahuila. It is such an amazing day today. We got music. We got horses. We got cultural traditions. We're really, extending out this this friendship and this bond with Ayel De Cahuila, helping to to restore those cultural connections. We are so excited to be here. We're excited to be here together. Honestly, I have always heard about calabrratas. I've never done one myself. This is my first cava galata. I am here, honoring this is my grandpa's hat. I'm honoring my grandpa. My family is from this region. And so this is such an exciting way to participate and to to honestly be here in in unison, way power, and sister city.
It's such an amazing experience.
[00:42:37] Unknown:
Okay. Alright. So the music's pretty loud.
[00:42:48] Unknown:
Hey. Oh, they have coffee there?
[00:42:51] Unknown:
Yeah. I don't know. I don't know if there's coffee in those tumblers. I don't mean if you're drinking coffee at this time, I'm not I'm not that you're just weird, but I I highly doubt it is coffee. Let's keep going. So do I. Equal pass. Equal pass.
[00:43:26] Unknown:
Did she say super mad mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Super mad Is that, like,
[00:43:56] Unknown:
Tell me, guys. She's I'm gonna use my bad word, card. Sure is not coffee. Tell me he's not shit faced, guys.
[00:44:04] Unknown:
Can you guys How they how they listen, like, how they are speaking, like, the accent. I don't know if it's the accent or what, but I think there's something a little bit extra in their coffee mug.
[00:44:17] Unknown:
Let's keep
[00:44:26] Unknown:
going. Okay.
[00:44:30] Unknown:
Okay. We're not gonna expose children here, so I know that that's her son's in the oops. Sorry. Alright.
[00:44:37] Unknown:
You saw our horses right here? Yeah. Oh, hey. Thank you. Go pass.
[00:44:59] Unknown:
Alright, guys. Now, I people are gonna say, oh my god. Ruben, get the stick out of your butt. Everybody loves to drink. Loves to, they deserve to drink and have a good time and blah blah blah. But the thing that we're not thinking about here is what is on their chest or on their right
[00:45:26] Unknown:
Exactly. The city logo. I mean, don't do a life if you're drinking alcohol. You know?
[00:45:33] Unknown:
The city seal Mhmm. The seal on so when you have the city seal and you're representing our community as public officials And you're drinking, and you guys look plastered, and you have Stephanie Valdez stumbling. You I mean, exactly. Yes. And I'm
[00:46:04] Unknown:
Judy, you said it.
[00:46:07] Unknown:
I don't know what you meant by that, Alfie, but we'll talk about that when I see you. It's about professionalism, guys. Do you how many times have you seen mayor Rolando Salinas drinking while he's wearing the city seal?
[00:46:25] Unknown:
Never.
[00:46:26] Unknown:
Have you seen Monica Cruz do that when she was a city councilwoman? Nope. Have you seen Mario Garcia or Billy Davis or, let's go back, Juan Cifuentes, Pepperanda. Have you seen any of them do that in public? I mean, yeah. You can if you guys wanna drink everybody drinks. I drink. Yeah. Of course. But not
[00:46:50] Unknown:
while you're wearing the city shirt.
[00:46:52] Unknown:
Yes. Exactly. And this isn't a haters game. Okay? It's about professionalism. I'm gonna say this right now, and I'm gonna show you guys this. This was a photo that was taken down from Compu Ribendo. Apparently, they were kicked out of a club back in San Antonio. This was I don't know when.
[00:47:16] Unknown:
Oh, they look sad.
[00:47:21] Unknown:
Let me see. What is it? What does Manny say here? Can't compare, bro. Everyone is ever different, and some just wanna show the power and who represents equal pass. Yes. There's time for everything, guys. Go have fun and drink, but don't go represent EP. People will talk about you and not in a good way. It's it's politics. I mean, you did it. You wanted this. Mhmm. You wanted this position. You wanted to be public officials. You wanted to serve the community and dedicate yourself twenty four seven. You are a political you are a public official twenty four seven just like in the army where we're soldiers twenty four seven. We have to show it. Public officials who serve us do the same thing. And this is just embarrassing, guys.
This is embarrassing. I'm sure this is when, this was before I I I wanna say this was before Adon was elected and before Jessica was elected. Now this video, along with this picture well, let me go back. So before we go back to this, this is with Stephanie looking plastered. This is just mocking the if you guys don't take that as being mocked, that she is under fire, the hospital board is under fire, but she's still publicly getting plastered as a board member, as a vice chair, as a board member for the for our our chamber of commerce, and you guys support that. I don't know what to tell you guys, man. I really don't. But this is why people like this get elected. And you know what?
In Jessica's, you know what? I'm gonna tell you guys, I voted for Jessica Ramon. I believe in her. She's a fellow veteran. I still believe in her. I think that she needs to distance herself from these peep from from from this little Musketeers group, and I think she can be the key to a successful administration in city council. She's a teacher, a single mom. She knows how it is. She's roughed it. You know, she had the rustic thing going on, and that is why I voted for her. I supported her, and I still do, and she knows it. But this kind of shit, I'm sorry I cussed, is ridiculous.
This is what's hurting you. You this is hurting your image. Look how plastered they look there. I'm sure I mean, getting kicked out of a bar in San Antonio, This is embarrassing. This is our this is our city mayor and city council. And when now they're gonna get mad about this. Of course, you have commissioner Olga Ramos there. She should know better. She's been doing this forever. You know what I mean? This is embarrassing. I've been to bars. I've been plastered before, but I've never been kicked out of a bar. I know how to I mean, I wouldn't have I wanna I wanna say the word plastered because I haven't been plastered since I was, like, in my early twenties.
So, like, you have a few drinks, you drink responsibly. And if you are drunk and you can't go anywhere and you need to call an Uber, that is what Uber is for, come pick up your vehicle later. Alright? This is embarrassing. This isn't even funny. I know you're laughing. I can see you laughing. But
[00:50:43] Unknown:
but just smiling.
[00:50:44] Unknown:
But but this isn't this isn't funny, guys. Like, this isn't this isn't something to poke fun at. This is our Mhmm. These are people that represent us. And if you can see on these on this video, I don't couldn't even remember his own wife's name or what title she had. None of them. This is and remember when he was snapping back at me, how does it sound? I'm starting to think it was real amnesia because he was there like, this is my wife. Oh, this is, Christopher Hiller. He's, he's a oh, yeah. EPISD. Okay. And, oh, what who am I?
Yes. At the end of the day, bro, we are all humans, but I totally get your point and what you mean. I put it yes. We're all humans. We all make mistakes. We all, hold on. Let me ask. I got a I got a text message here. Oh, okay. Yeah. Being on probation, someone said, ask if anyone is reporting her drinking and leaving the country to her probation officer. I don't know. Probably not. If her probation doesn't have her officer doesn't know, he will he or she will know now. Again, like, like Manny said, we're all human. We make mistakes.
[00:52:16] Unknown:
Exactly. We're all human, but you're wearing a logo shirt with the city of Eagle Pass, so that's the only thing that's wrong. Right. Do you guys see
[00:52:25] Unknown:
chief Amy Gonzalez out partying, drinking in public, posting it on Facebook? That woman doesn't even have to guys. Can you imagine if she did that? Can you imagine if chief Amy Gonzalez was out getting plastered and posting it on Facebook? She they they would hang her. They would Homero would probably would would definitely fire her. Can you imagine if, I'm a who who else? If Mario Garcia was doing that, being plastered. Oh my god. It it it would be all over the Maverick times. Guys, this is ours. This is this is the ISD. This is ours. This is our ISD workers getting plastered. This is why we don't have good food at the cafeteria because Mario Garcia is getting plastered here and there. Come on, guys.
Hold your leaders accountable. Don't be afraid. This is why we're opening dialogue. You know, it it's wow, look at look at this shit. Yeah. We're already getting hate. We're already getting hate coming here. You want me to put you want me to put that on there, Vanna, for you? Yes. I can I wanna read it? Alright. There you go. It says Veronica, do people know your boyfriend or husband abused your child?
[00:53:49] Unknown:
Well, that is a lie. Yeah. That's that's what they'll do. Yeah. And they're gonna start doing that, but I'm not scared. I have a lot to say too, and I'm not going to. You know? We're different. But, anyways
[00:54:02] Unknown:
I know. Right? It's it's great. It's it's funny how look at look at all these are you beautiful trans? Wow.
[00:54:12] Unknown:
Is it a fake profile?
[00:54:14] Unknown:
No. It's a this person's been heckling for a while now.
[00:54:18] Unknown:
Billy Acosta.
[00:54:19] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:54:21] Unknown:
The people will say anything to Yeah. You know, to get out of your personal life. This isn't about personal life. And they're going to start doing that now after all this. But, I mean, I have nothing to hide. You have nothing to hide. I'm still here. We are. Mhmm. It is what it is. So
[00:54:36] Unknown:
moving on to the next topic, this is our final topic. We we had talked about we wrote an article and, you know, it it it's funny because we have oh my god. They just keep coming in. We have what was I talking about? I'm getting distracted here with all these awesome comments. We have, oh, the the deal with Ramsey English Cantu and, Jerry Morales. I wrote that article on accountability, and it it falls in with this. It falls in with it. You know, being having not paid your taxes for a decade and not holding yourself accountable, people notice that.
People notice that. And And you know what? It's not about getting personal in people's lives like I'm telling you how this lady is getting all personal. I don't I don't I don't get it. It's it's something that wants to attack everybody. If you wanna get personal and start sharing shit or whatever, go for it. I mean, we're still gonna be here. We're not going anywhere. Oh, we're not going anywhere. You wanna talk about it bothers her so much. I mean, why is she still on our page? Because she loves to follow us, I guess. So it is what it is, and it's sad. I looking at these comments are sad.
So it is what it is. So,
[00:56:12] Unknown:
It's part of the clan.
[00:56:13] Unknown:
Part of the clan. Now do we have any comments or discussions on any of this? As far as the whole situation with Stephanie, as as far as the whole hospital district thing, it's about keeping everybody honest. It's about, keeping your elected officials honest and having some integrity. That's it. That's all I got. You got anything else for us, Greta, before we turn in?
[00:56:41] Unknown:
No. I do not.
[00:56:43] Unknown:
I do not. Are you gritting your teeth?
[00:56:47] Unknown:
I'm how is mine?
[00:56:48] Unknown:
Oh, god. Okay. Yeah. Because I'm gritting mine. It's just it's it's pathetic. But, guys, thank you for joining us. Again, we wanna we are here to give power back to the people.
[00:57:01] Unknown:
We have And keeping the community informed.
[00:57:05] Unknown:
Yes. Yes. Even if it was factual, they're not stories. We're not trying to take anybody out. We're not trying to hurt people. Actually, from what I hear, word out of word on the street, is that some people are a little mad about the information that we put out because some people They are. Yeah. Some people wanted to wait for the opportune moment for this. I don't wanna wait for an opportune moment. I don't wanna wait for somebody to have a an awesome standing moment and then knock them down off a pedestal. That's just not how I do things. You know, that's not how we do things. We're here to inform you guys. We're here to entertain too. We try to. But like I said, when when it comes to this, when it comes to fairness, making sure that, the the hospital district is making a public statement, why not? That's journalistic integrity.
We would be the same way with the ISD. The ISD did something about it. They actually fired somebody. They fired that principal or they they demoted him, and people still want more. Like, what more can you want? I don't know if this is something that I'm not seeing. But, anyways, it is now 09:13. Guys, don't forget, I will be next Saturday on the Golden Box along with Danny Mendoza and our special, podcaster that I'm gonna be interviewing with. We have so many events going on. We have Halloween going on, guys, but it's, I think yeah. We won't oh, yeah. It's coming up this week. This Friday. Yeah. This Friday. Please be careful, guys. Go to the events. I would go to the trunk or treats downtown, participate in the city events, just to be safer than walking around the neighborhood and knocking on doors.
People drive like nuts, and that's all I can say. Be safe.
[00:59:00] Unknown:
Be safe. Be a Halloween there will be a Halloween contest, costume contest at the Modelas Aguilar at 04:30PM so you guys can take your children. People from all ages can participate.
[00:59:12] Unknown:
Awesome. Great. Right on. Alright. Man, I'm just my mouth is dry. We got so many good comments. Again, if you guys need me to explain something to you and you don't like what I write, I'll explain it to you guys. It's not a problem. You can drop us a drop us a comment. And plus, I'm getting so many inboxes about the other things. I I remember, guys, I can't just post cheese man out there. That's not what we do. We will if it's something factual, we'll look into it. Don't take it personal. We don't answer right away. We'll try and we'll have some awesome topics.
But this topic was about fairness, not about, taking down or bashing. People don't know what the difference between bashing and factual and putting out factual criticism is. Bashing would be me calling our mayor stupid or an idiot or, you know, tearing him down verbally, making up stories, libel, slander, all that stuff. And we just want you to know that no matter how many times they try to hurt me or try to hurt anybody else, we're still here. We're not going anywhere. Let them try. They can keep going all they want. We'll be here. That's it. Anything else you got, Bella? No. Nothing else. Alright.
Like this video, share, and follow our page. Yes. Absolutely. And, we'll see you guys next week. Hopefully, we'll have some better news. We wanna have good news. We wanna have better news for the community. We wanna be able to update everybody with the positive things, but sometimes you guys just have to hear the negatives. People say it's the wrong time. I disagree. I think anytime is the right time to make sure that our city officials, our politicians are doing what they were elected to. So, guys, thank you for joining us. Tune in again next time.
For Veronica, I'm Ruben Camarillo. This is Now You Know Eagle Pass podcast episode 14, Juice. Stay cool. Stay strong. Rock on. Remember, this community is only stronger together. There. Alright. Right. Alright, Vidal. Thank you. Thank you so much, guys, for joining us.
[01:01:29] Unknown:
You're welcome. Alright.
[01:01:32] Unknown:
Laters. You be safe. Get some sleep. I gotta get some sleep. Later.
[01:01:41] Veronica Peña:
Is this thing on? Where? So what we get drunk,
[01:01:47] Ruben Camarillo:
so what we don't sleep, Hold
[01:01:52] Unknown:
on a second. Wait, guys. Sorry, Danny. I forgot. Don't forget. Going us through the VA movement. K? We have a drive coming up. It'll be in November. We gotta get you guys. We wanna try to get up any veteran or veteran to your legal path. We're not moving. We're gonna talk about that next week. Alright. How about that, Nanny?
[01:02:25] Unknown:
It's like I'm 17 again. Peach fuzz on my face. Looking only case trying to find the hell it takes. Oh my god. I'm on the chase. Chevy, it's getting kinda heavy. Irrelevant selling it, dipping away. Time keeps slipping away. Zipping the safe, flipping for pay. Tipping like I'm dripping in paint. Upfront, folk, folk, like Khalifa put the In the chat.
