I feel a little bit bad for Trey, but I think it's just because   he hasn't been winning,   you know, for   a few years now.   So I think that they just   not choosing him.

Yeah. And   I know we definitely wanted to talk about just the format of how everybody gets chosen. So   to be a starter, it's a combination   of the fan vote   of the,   players and then the media.   But for the reserves, it's just the coaches,   which I think is a little weird. I think it's a little backwards.

I feel like   the coaches should have say maybe   in the starters,   because it's like,   if they're gonna be coaching the game, they get they're the ones, you know,   really going for the starters.   But I feel like the reserve should be, like, all fans,   really.   Because it's like, if you want it to be more competitive and you want people to watch,   then you would want to choose

who the fans want to be in the all star game.

I guess it's like you can't do a 100% fans because what if someone like   what if everyone just really loves,   you know, like, taco fall?

Yeah. Well, I mean, just as an example,   LaMelo Ball was number 1 in the fan vote, number 3 in the players vote, and not an all star star. Not so.

Like, in the in 3 in the player vote, that's, like, pretty crazy too. So I think I don't see why coaches have   the say in the reserves. I think,   if anything, like, just make it all equal then. You know? Just make it all equal for the starters and the reserves. Someone understand what has to be different.

Yeah. It's odd, but it seems clear they wanted to keep certain people out.   Kyrie was kept off too. That was another big name.

I mean, one that's only been discussed a little that I'm a fan of, and I'm probably in a minority, as we get more involved in global basketball, the NBA is the only league that plays 48 minutes, and I am a fan of 4 10 minute quarters. Not sure that many others are. I mean, putting aside what it means for records and things like that, I think that a 2 hour format for a game is more consistent with sort of modern television habits. I don't think people in arenas aren't asking us to shorten the game. But I think as a television program, being 2 hours, it's Olympic basketball, it's 2 hours college basketball courses. Yeah. But if you like it, I'd say it has kind of a little bit of a push there. Yeah. But it it it's such a dramatic change to the game. I mean, I think something like that would have to be talked more about over time. I mean But the pitch clock was dramatic, commissioner. I get it. I'm a fan of what baseball did. I'm a baseball fan, and I think some of those changes have really increased sort of the engagement, the entertainment value of the game. And so I'm paying a lot of attention to that. And in fact, I've used the pitch clock, the sort of the increasing the size of the base, etcetera, in meetings at the NBA to say, if baseball, which is more locked into tradition than any other sport, that if they're able to make those changes, certainly, we shouldn't be afraid to look at changes as well. I just wanna know why they wanna change it all the time.
