It's gross out dick. It's gross out dick. I'm just gonna go for it.
[00:00:07] Unknown:
We'll just do our thing. Mhmm. It's Saturday.
[00:00:11] Unknown:
Saturday night.
[00:00:13] Unknown:
January 11th. There's no Celtics game. They played last night.
[00:00:17] Unknown:
Mhmm. We're we had tickets to the game, but we went to
[00:00:22] Unknown:
Sean's work holiday party. Thank goodness we didn't go to that game. That looked rough. Mhmm.
[00:00:28] Unknown:
Cause cause for concern. Cause for panic.
[00:00:32] Unknown:
You're concerned? You're panicked? I'm wondering. I'm asking you. I'm certainly not panicked. No. Just a little bit of a rough stretch, middle of the season.
[00:00:40] Unknown:
Yeah. Just, like, kinda tired and, like, just kinda wanna move on to the next thing, but I feel like that's an excuse.
[00:00:48] Unknown:
Yeah. But, I mean, it's ups and downs. They won on that West Coast road trip. They went 3 in 1. They obviously got stomped by OKC, but then they came back, beat the Nuggets who didn't have Jokic, but still. And then they lost this game, against Sacramento back at home. So, you know, I don't know.
[00:01:08] Unknown:
Me neither. Certainly not concerned, though. I will say I was so mad when they lost to Oklahoma.
[00:01:18] Unknown:
That was a tough watch. I was so
[00:01:21] Unknown:
mad. Yeah. And, like, if they lose, I'm not one that's gonna, like, ring the alarms. This is the worst team ever. That's not how I am. But after that game, I was like, that's the game you gotta win. The best in the west,
[00:01:37] Unknown:
you gotta beat them. Or even if you lose it, it was just the way they lost with being up in the first half, really in control of the game, and then the second half, they scored
[00:01:46] Unknown:
27 points or something? Yeah. It was horrific. Really, really bad. I mean, that's the thing. That's what I feel like. That's the part that I'm a little concerned of. It feels like there is more inconsistency this year compared to last year, whether it's the ebb and flow of the game and also, like, with individual players.
[00:02:12] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, I keep talking about this, but there's just been a lot of guys out. It's been hard to get a consistent group out there game after game where guys have been a little bit banged up, and I think that definitely is part of it where they're trying to find a rhythm together. They're trying to get you know, KP's been in and out. Mhmm. Yeah. It just seems like, you know, Sam, it seems like something is still wrong.
[00:02:35] Unknown:
Yeah. And that's what the thing is too. Like, I feel like Sam will be I mean, I feel like, overall, he hasn't really played as well as last year. You know? But he'll have really great games, or he'll have games where nothing happened. I mean, same thing with, d White right now.
[00:02:54] Unknown:
Yeah. D White's in a slump.
[00:02:57] Unknown:
So I don't really know, but the guys seem to have faith in each other, and they're not worried. But I wonder what it is that they're gonna be taking a look at to see what the heck is going on.
[00:03:15] Unknown:
I mean, I think they're just gonna keep doing their same thing. They're definitely a little too reliant on the 3. They shot 28% last game, which really is not gonna cut it. But, I mean, overall, I think they're gonna be fine. They're gonna figure it out. They're way too talented not to. And it seems like right now, everyone's really high on Cleveland. Everyone's really high on OKC, and they're good. They're very good. Don't get me wrong, but we just won the championship. I think we're gonna be okay. We're gonna be right there at the end with everybody else. You just gotta be right at the right time at the end.
[00:03:47] Unknown:
It's true. It's true. I just feel like that mentality where, like, every game matters is not I don't know. They just seem a little bit like they're not as, hungry like that, but I maybe they're just tired mid season. But Cleveland, though, I feel like I was, like, me the other day. It feels kinda like in my head, I'm like, Cleveland. Like, I'm not really worried about it. They're always they've been good for a long time, but never great. You know? But this year, they're obviously great. So I definitely need to put more of a bull's eye on that.
[00:04:29] Unknown:
Yeah. They beat OKC right after we lost. Now granted they were at home. We played OKC when OKC was at home, so we're on the road. But, both those teams and we didn't. Yeah. And both those teams had no problem scoring on each other. Mhmm. There it was a extremely high scoring game. I think they were both in, like, the 1 twenties or 1 thirties, and we couldn't do anything Mhmm. Against OKC. So it could just be, you know, small sample size. Shooting in the after in the second half. Yeah. It's just one game, but either way, just those teams are clearly at the top right now, and we're trying to figure it out. But,
[00:05:05] Unknown:
like I said, I don't know. Is giving a giving me, like, last year's Celtics vibes, kind of, where I feel like those guys have been playing together for a really long time, and, you know, they have that gel and team mentality. So it's a little bit scary in that way, but we'll see. I mean, I'm excited for them to play them. They play them twice, I think, in February.
[00:05:32] Unknown:
Do they?
[00:05:33] Unknown:
Yeah. I'm pretty sure. Because we have tickets on one of them, and then there's one, I think, where they play there.
[00:05:39] Unknown:
Yeah. So we'll see. Gonna get to go at them a couple times, see how we look. I could be wrong about that. You know? Yeah. Fact check. You don't have to. But yeah. Sound off that fact checking that. But, I mean, you know, who's not concerned? KP. He's not concerned. Down 20. Yeah. I mean, why aren't you guys giving that maximum effort at times?
[00:05:59] Unknown:
Honestly, it's some place just, you know, it's it's just happens. Like, it's not like we're not trying. Like, oh, I'm thinking this guy go, I'm not going, and it we just stay in the same place and and it look it doesn't look perfect. But we're gonna get past it. We're gonna be fine. We will figure it out. I'm telling you, like, I'm confident we'll bounce back. We're just having a not not the prettiest moment right now as a team, and it's completely normal. You know? So I don't need to, like, be, like, negative and,
[00:06:28] Unknown:
and believe me. We'll figure it out. Oh, wow. I love him. Yeah. Very confident, especially at the end. So confident, and he's like, why are we wasting our breath talking about this, man? It's gonna be fine. Yeah.
[00:06:40] Unknown:
You know who's not so confident? My guy, Bob Manning. Oh, let's see. My guy, Bob Manning, had more to say. Spiraling. He said this was the worst loss of the year. He called. Worst loss of the year, I think. And so here we are. 87 over the last 15.
[00:06:56] Unknown:
This team just not playing their best basketball. Kristaps Porzingis, Jaylen Brown, both adamant that they're gonna get this right. But it feels like an uphill battle for them right now to find consistency and Shut up, Bob. We have to ask, where are you at on the No. You don't. Right now?
[00:07:11] Unknown:
I would say not at all panic, but we talked about this going into the year, how hard it is to repeat. We were just in Denver talking to Michael Malone about, you know, their Denver's pursuit to repeating last year, and he said it takes a very special team to do it twice in a row. You're being hunted. Everybody's giving you the rest shot. So to me, it's less about, like, is this team gonna be bad? Are they, you know, are we watching the beginning of a downhill? It's more we needed to see signs early on that this team had the ability to repeat and to do what nobody has done since the Warriors did it in 2017. And so right now, I'm not seeing those signs. It was Who is that girl too? That's like Noah something or other. I don't know. That's who but no. That's who, what's his name really loved? Oh, I'm out on her. Oh, that's the one that Joe was, like, that fascinated by her and her
[00:07:56] Unknown:
question. Yeah. Well, I'm But they're both giving I keep I hate that I'm saying giving whatever. I'm giving whatever that, like, phrase. That's annoying of me, but they're both reminding me of Forsberg. Yeah. It just The way they talk.
[00:08:11] Unknown:
Yeah. It's like the they think they're so smart, and they're so I mean, first off, she's saying talking about how hard it is to repeat. This is since 1990. So not going that far back. This is teams that have gone That's when we were born, and we are spring chickens. I mean, it's, you know, the little over 30 years, whatever. Who's counting? But this is this is back to back champions since then. Detroit Pistons did it. Chicago Bulls did it. They won 3 times in a row. The Houston Rockets did it. The Bulls did it again 3 times. The Lakers won 3 times in a row. The Lakers won again back to back. The Heat won back to back. The Warriors won back to back. I mean, I'm sorry. It's hard to do. That's since 1990. One has done since the Warriors in 2017, ma'am. Since the Warriors did it. They It's not that long. They won 2017 to 2018. Exactly. That's 6 years ago. 6 years ago. Oh, since someone did it in 1492.
It's like, what are you talking about?
[00:09:07] Unknown:
Yeah. Tom Allen, her. Know they're just I think I think they're they sound like they're young, those 2. They they look very young. And so I feel like they just maybe don't have that perspective. Yeah. Stick around a little longer. Be here for a little bit of time. But where I mean, I don't understand. Where did they came from? What are their credentials?
[00:09:29] Unknown:
They work for this, this CLNS Media. I mean, they have Mhmm. Under 10,000 followers on Instagram. It's a nothing thing. I mean, I don't know who we are to talk. But I don't know. That's why I'm, like, shooting the daggers right now. I mean, what? We talk to 2 people, and it's each other. Yeah. But we don't spell nonsense. We're here to be positive about the Celtics. They're there. I mean, they have all over their Instagram of, like, them with confetti on them last year at the finals. They're they're credentialed, members of the media, and they're out here just talking flagrant all the time. I don't understand.
It's it's perplexing to me.
[00:10:05] Unknown:
I know. It's we need more positivity.
[00:10:09] Unknown:
Yeah. We need a lot more positivity. I will say a couple guys were positive. Little throwbacks that I came across, was, Juan, Bobby, who I don't even know if you have to play his clip, but Mhmm. Bob Williams just saying how, you know, he had no disrespect for the Celtics, love for the opportunities that he had. But Blake was also on a podcast, Blake Griffin. Let's hear it. And he had some very positive things to say, not only about the Celtics, but about Boston in general. I know people like to hate on Boston, and, you know, he does say if you're an opposing team, it's a little bit tougher. But Which, I mean
[00:10:47] Unknown:
yeah.
[00:10:48] Unknown:
Fine. He was gushing about the about the Celtics.
[00:10:51] Unknown:
Boston, though, man, I love Boston. Like, I love those guys. I was so happy for them when they won. That is, like, a different experience. I mean, you playing playing as a opponent there is one thing. You go play there. Oh. All those people are rocking with you who used to just be yelling crazy shit. There's some people who are rocking with you, dude. I I mean And you gotta understand that, dude, I played in LA for the Clippers. Mhmm. I played in New York for the Net. Okay. Like, those are 2 like, it's a Lakers town. It's a Knicks town. Mhmm. That was the first time I really played for a team where it was like, not at all. Everybody in that city is rocking with you. Yeah. I mean, I like, I went out to dinner 10 times. No check. You know what I mean? Like, in Boston, I'm I'm like I said, I'm I'm playing every 5 games.
[00:11:51] Unknown:
But, yeah, I mean, he's talking about how positive everyone is. It's like, hey, Bob. Hey, Noah. You can tell he was sincere too. Like, the way that he was talking about it. I mean, he had a Boston Red Sox hat on. I know. I loved that. Dude loves Boston.
[00:12:05] Unknown:
Yeah. That's so cool. I wish he would've come with us last year. That would've been that would've been fun. Yeah. It would've been nice to have him. Mhmm. He's good for the vibes for sure. Yeah. He's good for the vibes. And he's just I mean, he's, like, obviously gotta be pretty knowledgeable. He's gonna be, on a show for Amazon, NBA for Amazon or whatever. Oh, really? Him and a girl and another guy, and I don't remember who. Oh, nice. Yeah. Good thing
[00:12:31] Unknown:
you've got Google. And a girl and another guy. Yeah.
[00:12:35] Unknown:
Yeah. They're gonna be doing, like, the the broadcasting for something with Amazon Prime.
[00:12:45] Unknown:
Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki, and Taylor Rooks.
[00:12:48] Unknown:
How could I forget?
[00:12:50] Unknown:
Because Prime's gonna begin streaming games, and they're gonna be the studio analyst beforehand. Yeah. That's cool. Yeah. That is cool. I'll tune in every now and then, maybe. Yeah. When when does it start? When do they get rich? Is it after the season? Or
[00:13:03] Unknown:
Beats me. Yeah. I just see things in passing, you know,
[00:13:07] Unknown:
and make a little note and move on. You make a note of 1 of the 3 people doing it, and then you keep it moving. You don't get caught up. Mm-mm. But, no. That'd be cool. Yeah.
[00:13:19] Unknown:
Big fan. Big fan. I feel like I've kind of always been a Blake Griffin fan, because, like, I knew who he was before I ever watched basketball. So it feels like I was always a fan, but it's just He's always been out there. Yeah. I don't know why I knew his name. He's he was pretty good, I guess.
[00:13:39] Unknown:
Yeah. He's very good. And then by the time he get to us, he just had lost some of his athleticism, which really impacted him, but he was a freak Mhmm. Early in his career. Yeah. Very exciting player when he's playing in LA. Made he famously jumped over a car in a dunk contest.
[00:13:57] Unknown:
Mhmm. So yeah. Yeah. You saw him at the end. I did. But, I mean, I still enjoyed him for sure. And sometimes he sometimes he let his old self shine
[00:14:09] Unknown:
out there. Yeah. Every once in a while, he could turn back the clock. You wanna know what I think? We're watching the,
[00:14:16] Unknown:
the Wolves play the Grizzlies right now. And to me, every time I see Randall out there walking in his uniform and staying with this guy, who is this guy that has the ball? Dante DiVincenzo. Yeah. They just look a little somber. They don't they don't wish they were in New York still? I I don't know if it's that they wish they were in New York or if they don't wish that they were on the the wolves or it's maybe just not going how they thought. They just and I'm sure it takes a while to, you know, get the vibe and get everybody and, you know, find your place and such, but they just don't look as hyped up. I mean, Dvincenzo, I feel like he always the last year, he looked
[00:15:00] Unknown:
hot, you know? Yeah. Well, I mean, right I don't know what I'm saying. But Well, yeah. I think you're right, though. I mean, right now, the Knicks are better than, they were last year. And, like Blake was saying, I mean, it's a Knicks town. So imagine, like, we're we love Boston. Boston is, you know, loves the Celtics. But imagine New York, and then being the number one team in New York. That has to be pretty sick. Then you get shipped off to Minnesota Mhmm. To where it's awful Mhmm. Where there's nothing going on. And now, like, you've had, like, these skids, and then the star player there is Anthony Edwards who, you know, we we've gone back and forth on him. We like him, but it's it's a little bit childish sometimes. Yeah. And so I can imagine that
[00:15:44] Unknown:
that was a big that was a big change as well, because, like, for Randall and DiVincenzo, that seems like I mean, especially DiVincenzo is very close to, what's his name? Jalen Brunson? Yeah. Who's, like, their number one guy. So it was probably easier to talk to him and, like Yeah. They went to college together. Yeah. Exactly. And create a bond with him and be able to say you know, tell him what's good. Like, I don't know how Anthony Edward ed Edwards is, but I feel like he just thinks his poo don't
[00:16:18] Unknown:
stink. And so But even so, I feel like Anthony Edwards also, like he kinda is just about himself, not even in a bad way, but he's kinda built more like Tatum where he's not out there, like, always trying to, like, be with the boys and be hanging out. He kinda just likes to do what he likes to do. Fine. Yeah. But when you go from playing with one of your best friends to then going to play with someone Mhmm. Who's like a superstar and that's kinda like a little bit of a lone wolf. Yeah. It's different. Yeah. It's definitely gotta be tough. And, again, it's Minnesota. It's gotta be horrible. I can't even imagine.
[00:16:49] Unknown:
I mean, I don't know what that life is like, but, you know, as the days, the months, the years go by, I'm happier and happier for where we live.
[00:17:01] Unknown:
Shout out to say here. I do have so it's not MBA. It's college, but I do have a thank god this guy isn't our coach, UCLA coach Mick Cronin, who's bounced around, but, they lost to Michigan. They got kinda punked by Michigan, and he went off on everyone. Soft.
[00:17:27] Unknown:
We're soft. So don't just don't tell me you wanna win. Internet I have to run on the court to get guys to play hard. It it's crazy. You know? And it's every day. I'm tired of it. It's every day. I have the most energy of all the of anybody at practice every day. Every day, he's the most energy. I'm upset with everybody in that locker room. My assistant coach is not the leader. My gosh. Except for 1. I mean, I don't need to do anything. It's just not something that he needs. I'm only 53. He just said he has 500 wins. He doesn't have to do anything else. The Lakers. I mean, it's a joke. What the truth of it has been, it's really hard to coach people that are delusional.
The hungry dog gets the bone. Gosh. We got guys that think they're way better than they are. They're nice kids. They're completely delusional about who they are. And they're and the team Imagine. Mind is on the right stuff and hungry to get a win in conference play
[00:18:24] Unknown:
is the team that's probably gonna we're soft. That coach would have to meet me on the court for a fist fight in the middle of the court the next day. I'd say, coach, meet meet me in the circle. I am pretty speechless. Catch me in the circle. I couldn't believe it when I came across it. I was like, this is That is the craziest
[00:18:42] Unknown:
thing I've ever heard. Uh-huh.
[00:18:44] Unknown:
Because that's just, like, sir. And also, I I'm I'm sure the guy has a lot of energy. He had a lot of energy there just going off about his team. But to say every day, you have more passion and energy every day than everybody,
[00:18:56] Unknown:
every single person. Yeah. I don't know. That was crazy, but you can't I mean, dude, if you want your team to play well, you think it's that good of idea
[00:19:06] Unknown:
to talk so much crap about them? Or if you have that I'm sure he said it to them in person too, but exactly. The way to do it is not in public.
[00:19:15] Unknown:
That's not the way to do it. I had too many. I haven't had chips really all week, and I had too many chips today. I have, like, that, like, salt burn. I Okay. Just deraile it. Yeah. I'm so thirsty, and I can't open my water.
[00:19:34] Unknown:
Phoebe, you can't open your water. Because I'd have to put my mic down. You have to put the mic down for a second. No. Keep talking. Yeah. I I will. You could've just done it. It would've been over already. I was wondering what you're struggling with over there. You're trying to open the water bottle. You're dumping it on the ground.
[00:19:51] Unknown:
Yeah. Well,
[00:19:54] Unknown:
I feel like we definitely have to get into the Jayson Tatum Brandon Jennings saga. First, it was Brandon Jennings saying that he was the or I think he asked the question, but then he did kinda then say it or say he thought it afterwards. But, saying that he is Jayson Tatum, the softest Celtic, Celtic superstar ever, which was a little nuts. That? Oh, he asked that. He was on the Gilbert Arenas podcast, and he asked that question. But he asked it, like, you know, you ask something, but you're kind of saying it. Mhmm. Like, because then he went off because, Gilbert Arenas was seems like he's kind of a fan. He was going back at him a little bit, saying, you know, how king. Yeah. How he's averaging all those points, but, hold. I have it here somewhere. I thought I had it right there.
Give me a second. Alright. You gotta fill some airtime now.
[00:20:55] Unknown:
Well, thank you for letting me open my water bottle because I really needed some water.
[00:21:01] Unknown:
Feeling much better, so I appreciate that. Get the salty you know, the salty taste out of your mouth? Yeah. Here it is. Yo.
[00:21:09] Unknown:
Is he the softest ball? That ain't being a soft sometimes.
[00:21:12] Unknown:
The softest? It crash outside. No. I meant no. I'm asking. Crash out. I really don't know what soft is. I mean, whoever's saying he's soft. He's soft? No. I said is he the softest
[00:21:22] Unknown:
superstar that's ever put in the Boston Celtics jersey. There you go. He's averaging 28. That's a soft ass 28. That's such a weird question. I'm just averaging a soft ass 28. And then Going out there and getting your head busted. That's what I'm telling for.
[00:21:34] Unknown:
28, 9, rebound. Rebound. A career high 6 assist. 29
[00:21:38] Unknown:
28, 9, and 6. Yo. Is he the softest ball? That ain't being the
[00:21:43] Unknown:
man. Yeah. So he says that,
[00:21:45] Unknown:
and I But it's like but the question was so bizarre. Is he the softest superstar
[00:21:52] Unknown:
ever to wear a Celtics jersey? That's very specific. I mean That's some specific hate right there. Yeah. That's some deep hatred for maybe the Celtics,
[00:22:01] Unknown:
maybe Jayson Tatum. I don't know. Maybe all of them. The whole league. I don't I'm so confused at what he was even trying to say. He was just trying to say that he feels like Jayson Tatum is soft. That's all he was trying to say. He wasn't trying to, like there's no reason for him to even say, like, superstar on the Celtics.
[00:22:19] Unknown:
He's just Jayson Tatum hater. Just say you don't like the guy. It's fine. Mhmm. You don't have to ask that weird backhanded question. Weird. But to me, what was weirder was because Tatum, usually, he's kinda like a lion. Like, he doesn't concern himself with the sheep. The sheep. He kinda just, you you know, on the court, off the court, he really doesn't get into that type of stuff. Like, even if there's a beef on the court, he'll just walk away from it. Like, he is never the guy who was in the middle of any of that stuff. And he decided to post a an Instagram post, you know, videos, pictures, and it was, like, the the caps and the lowercase letters saying softest superstar in Celtic history.
So, you know, he clapped back for sure, which I thought was kinda funny. And then, I mean, the Celtics media, they were posting stuff kinda going at it. Joe Mazzullo was talking about how he talks to those guys about people and their opinions. And I'm like, are we are we good? It's it's Brandon Jennings. He's a nobody. He did nothing.
[00:23:23] Unknown:
Why do we care about his opinion? I guess, you know, like I said, it's just something to talk about, and maybe it's some motivation, which I don't even think I don't think he actually cares that much. I think he just heard it, and he thought it was funny. And he's like, you know what? I'm just gonna
[00:23:40] Unknown:
I'm just gonna go with this right now. He said something like, I I had time today, or I have some extra time today. Yeah. He doesn't really care. I mean, he doesn't not care, though. You can't post that and not care. I think he was just flexing on him a little bit, which is good, but Well, yeah.
[00:23:57] Unknown:
Yeah. I guess it's not that he doesn't care. He just he's not actually taking it personally
[00:24:03] Unknown:
or to heart. No. I agree. And, also, I mean, you know, just for for reference, Brandon Jennings career high points per game for a season was 19. Guy couldn't even touch 20. So Tatum's got almost 10 more points per game this year, while while he's getting double teamed every night.
[00:24:20] Unknown:
So Yeah. I just I just don't get where these people come from, but that's why I wouldn't be a good I was gonna say I wouldn't be a good, like, analyst or, like, media person, podcast right now. You are. Exactly. Doing right now. But that's why maybe I'm not very good at it because I just feel like we are all I mean, I know that you played in the NBA and, but, like, have some perspective. I mean, he's he's way better than you were. And, yeah, like you said, he gets double teamed all the time. He's on a really good team, playing for one of the best organizations in the in the league.
[00:25:04] Unknown:
I just don't know I just don't get what people want from him. Yeah. And I know that we you know, we've been going in on the heat a little bit because they're kind of a dumpster fire right now. But I would say Eric Spoelstra is regarded as one of the top coaches in the league, has been for a long time. He's won multiple championships. And, Andrei Gudala was on a podcast with Jayson Tatum, and he's talking about, which I have a clip, they had rules down to the seconds during the shot clock Yeah. About what to do against Jess Jayson Tatum. I'll let him explain it. And they it's like the the Jordan rules is the Tatum rules, and I've seen it put together.
[00:25:41] Unknown:
And they will figure out what your weakness is. I mean, they'll say after you take 3 dribbles Right. We doing this. It's like that detail. The count dribbles. Not like going left, not going right, but, like, after 3 dribbles we're doing this. When it's this much time on a shot clock, this triggers. At the 15, this is the trigger. At 7 seconds, this is I'm like, yo. This is it. I learned so much in the organiz
[00:26:06] Unknown:
It's crazy. They're they're so concerned about Jayson Tatum that they are like, hey. If this many seconds are on the clock, we blitz. If this many seconds are on the clock, we double team. And meanwhile, Brandon Jennings is saying he's soft. I just don't get it. I truly don't. And, arenas was funny because he was saying he's like, how how is he soft if he's scoring 28 a game? Then you're then teams are letting a soft dude score 28 points a game. How does that make is everyone soft? It doesn't go. Everyone must be soft. Sometimes
[00:26:36] Unknown:
people really just they need to think before they speak.
[00:26:40] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, that's the problem now too is, I mean, hey, we're Everyone's got, like, a mic evidence of this Now everyone needs a podcast. Phone. Okay? We have microphones. Not everyone needs a podcast. But I also just think it's more to the fact everybody can and should have a podcast doing it. Do you want? But everyone thinks that their opinion is, like, so valid just because they have a microphone. Mhmm. And it's like you instead of, like, going in like that with nothing, so with no support, I wasn't gonna play 9 minutes of them talking about it, but he had nothing to back it up. Everybody out there
[00:27:12] Unknown:
is just so not nice, you know? And maybe that's what that's, like, polarizing. It gets people talking. But can we just all be kinda nice and respectful? You know?
[00:27:26] Unknown:
Well, I will say if he was being nice, probably, like, we're being nice and no one's listening. So he was Whatever. I'd rather be nice.
[00:27:34] Unknown:
I'm not gonna. No. Because that's all I don't wanna get myself into trouble. I don't want Jason Tatum writing captions about me.
[00:27:42] Unknown:
Yeah. I imagine. That'd be funny, though.
[00:27:48] Unknown:
I don't know. This morning, we were trying to figure out well, Lee, meaning me, trying to figure out where Pritchard lived because we were in Seaport this morning.
[00:27:56] Unknown:
You've been trying to figure that out for a while, I think.
[00:27:59] Unknown:
I always try to kinda figure out where they all are, but Yeah. Well, I guess the the like, him and then KP and Jaylen. Know, because there's been a lot of, like, people breaking into people, like, athletes homes, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm just interested. You know? Yeah. But I couldn't figure it out, so don't worry, Rich. Don't worry. Figure it out. Yeah. Pritchard, if you're listening, we're not coming. Don't worry. You know, we did, like, a rinse and repeat of the holiday party last year because oh, I guess we went to, like, the rooftop at the hotel we stayed at, but then we also did go to Todd Day in the morning the next day.
But, anyway, I don't know. Everyone just needs to be a little nicer.
[00:28:43] Unknown:
They do need to be a little nicer. Oh, tomorrow, 6 o'clock game. What are we gonna do? Town's not napping again?
[00:28:51] Unknown:
No. I think we need to try to have him nap. This is chaos. Can't be solved. It's like we lived 17 lives today. Yeah. He was on one today. And, like, there was a there the leak in our in the pipe and the things about everywhere. Almost a day. Yeah. So I would go for the nap tomorrow. We're gonna try the nap. We're gonna go for the nap, and he can Fingers crossed he doesn't want to stay up and watch the first half of this. If he naps, he can.
[00:29:24] Unknown:
Wow. Shocking. Yeah. 6 o'clock game for Talon. That's Yeah. Usually, he only gets to see a 3 o'clock once in a while. Yeah. I know.
[00:29:34] Unknown:
I'm we'll see.
[00:29:36] Unknown:
Yeah. We'll see what happen. No no promises down if you're listening.
[00:29:40] Unknown:
Yeah. Gets tired.
[00:29:43] Unknown:
He was exhausted today. Mhmm. Just the swings, the highs and the lows were were wild. He'd be so happy one second. He'd be sobbing the next second. I don't know. One second, he'd be happy laughing running around. No one may be screaming no.
[00:30:00] Unknown:
No. He needs anger management nowadays. He does. I don't know what's going on. I look at him like He's been hanging out with your dad too much. I know. I'm like, is that hot temper from my dad? It's it's very similar to me when I when I hear it. When I see what he does in his, like, the way his mannerisms and how, like, hot he gets, sometimes I think it's me. Because sometimes I feel that quite internally. I just don't scream because I'm an adult. But I'm like, maybe that's me. It's not you.
[00:30:35] Unknown:
It's definitely not me.
[00:30:37] Unknown:
But yeah. He's just, I don't know, going through changes.
[00:30:47] Unknown:
I didn't realize. I just saw him sitting courtside. Alex Rodriguez, I think maybe I did notice, but then I forgot, is a minority owner of the Timberwolves. Oh. And he was just sitting courtside.
[00:30:57] Unknown:
Cool.
[00:30:58] Unknown:
I'm not a big fan of him. Oh, me either. But it's interesting that he he owns part of them.
[00:31:03] Unknown:
Which I'm only not a big fan of him for personal reasons.
[00:31:08] Unknown:
Why is that?
[00:31:13] Unknown:
He's a cheater. I love you. And he was from New York. So it's, like, how could I ever Yeah. You kinda have to hit him. Yeah.
[00:31:22] Unknown:
Un understand. I'm not a fan either. I just just found it interesting. He's good at he's good at baseball. Pretty good baseball player. Mhmm. Yeah. Mhmm. Pretty good. What is it? Young man in the sea? Is that was that what the young man in the 3? 3. Yeah. Young man in the 3? Because it was old man in the 3 when it was JJ Redick. Oh, no. I just did took it over. That's doing the young man. Who is it? I'll look it up. I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. I was kinda asking myself. Well, either way, d White and, Pritchard on it. Thank you. Yeah. And there was an interesting there was an interesting clip that I saw, that what that where Pritchard had to say about scoring in the NBA?
[00:32:10] Unknown:
Offensively, it's easier, I think, to score in the NBA than college. You lose that? Yeah. There's just space. Yeah. Spaces every 2. I feel like college is similar to what they say, like, Europe. It's like Europe's harder, but it's also because they're you can camp in the lane. Usually, the big man's sitting there. You're not gonna have as many shooters like in college. Probably got 1 or 2 guys that can't shoot the 3 ball on the court. And the pros, it's very rare. Like, not having it on our team, really. So you gotta cover every all 5 guys, and it just leaves you guys on an island. And you learn that right away. Yeah. You make sure you have to pick it up or get left behind. Not gonna be Yeah.
[00:32:48] Unknown:
I thought that was interesting because it makes sense when you say it and when he says how, you know, because everyone is so good and people can shoot its base to the floor, but at the same time, they're also much better athletes. They're the best of the best, so you would think the defenders are better individually as well. But, yeah, I just thought it was cool to to hear him say that it's easier to score in the NBA than college. Mhmm. Kinda wild. Yeah.
[00:33:13] Unknown:
Yeah. I'm gonna have to listen to that whole thing.
[00:33:16] Unknown:
Yeah. I'm gonna go back and listen. I wanted to, and then I just never got to it. I tried to, but Talon was, like, in the car with me, and
[00:33:23] Unknown:
it it wasn't working out. He wasn't into it? No. He was just telling me about all the trucks he was seeing and stuff. You know?
[00:33:30] Unknown:
Sorry. You're like, I'm trying to focus. Because I specifically,
[00:33:35] Unknown:
I think there is a broken green garbage truck in front of us. Mom, you see it? Oh, that was just a sign. Looks like it's a billboard. He thought from far away was a garbage truck, but
[00:33:49] Unknown:
Tommy Alter is the one who now who does, young man of the 3. Mhmm. He was doing it, old man of 3. I didn't even know that was the name of it with with JJ. Oh, I did. Oh, you said that. I know. That's I was giving you credit.
[00:34:04] Unknown:
I wish that's what JJ stuck with. He was good at that.
[00:34:09] Unknown:
He seemingly was better at that than he is at coaching the Lakers, but they're fine. But I don't know. Why give it up? You already had a playing career. I get it for somebody who never played in the NBA. Like, maybe you're a college you're a college player and whatever, you get the opportunity to get to the NBA in some capacity, but he had a long NBA career. What do you need to go be the Lakers coach for?
[00:34:34] Unknown:
I don't know, man. I like Who's this rapper?
[00:34:38] Unknown:
I don't know who's doing the halftime show right now. But it is crazy because when you watch these, NBA TV games, you get the the in game feed, and so you get, like, the halftime shows that what were we what were we watching the other day? Oh my gosh. It was like a ukulele
[00:34:56] Unknown:
and
[00:34:56] Unknown:
another one I was The guy was doing, like, he was doing, like, a fiddle and escape board. A fiddle and escape board. That was insane. That was wild. What game was that? Who was playing? Oh, yeah. It was Oklahoma. I gotta I gotta try to figure out who that is. Yeah. Yeah. That was a wild dog. That was a wild dog. Put this down too. Go for a sec.
[00:35:16] Unknown:
Well, I was saying, if anyone ever saw the red panda perform on NBA TV or whatever it is, they would love her. She's an angel. She's the goat. Everybody loves her. Yeah. But you don't know unless you've seen her. So I'm happy she's gonna get caught up. All around. Oh, well, I just like to think she just comes and hangs out with us at the party.
[00:35:43] Unknown:
For those interested, you have to look this guy up. It's Kyle Dillingham and Horseshoe Road. It's the OKC Thunder halftime show. Kyle Dillingham and Peter Marks. And I think it's Dillingham who he does the the fiddle, the violin, whatever it is, and he just skateboards around like an absolute psycho. And then he sings, and you absolutely can't understand a single word that he says the way that he sings. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. It was pretty it was pretty cool. Yeah.
[00:36:11] Unknown:
Yeah. That's what I'll say about it. Yeah. That was nuts.
[00:36:14] Unknown:
Wasn't there another one where there was, like, a dog skateboarding around? I don't know. That's not even interesting, though. Not sure. But, yeah, I don't know who this rapper is or a singer in Minnesota right now. But is that a is that like a Christmas hat, or is it just like a beanie? Oh, it's just a beanie.
[00:36:34] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:36:38] Unknown:
Yeah. So they, they put the Pelicans tomorrow, and I think I think, Sam's been playing. Yeah. But then he got suspended. Oh, wow. So I don't know if he he missed the team flight. When did he get suspended? A day ago. So I think he might miss Oh, why? The next they just said he missed the team flight. Oh. Yeah. I thought he got suspended, so he missed the flight. No. New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williams suspended by the team for one game. He'll miss Friday's matchup against the 70 sixers, so no problem. He's gonna play against us. So yeah. Interesting, though. A flight.
I don't know. Maybe he slept in. Maybe he's eating a bag of chips or something.
[00:37:21] Unknown:
That's so interesting. I wonder if that's, like, the punishment if you miss a you miss a flight or suspended a game, or if that's maybe team by team.
[00:37:30] Unknown:
Yeah. I think it's team by team, because David Griffin, who he's the president of basketball operation executive president, basketball operations said, this one game suspension is a result of failing to meet our team's standards. His dedication to the organization is a paramount significance to us and to him. Extending accountability and reaffirm that that commitment to the team today. I'm confident he will continue to evolve positively on and off the floor. And then Zion said, I take full responsibility for the suspension. Worked extremely hard in rehab to get healthy to deliver for this team. There's no excuse for being late to team activity activities. I apologize to missus Benson. My teammates and coaches, and I also want an apology to the fans, I can and will be better as a teammate and member of this organization.
[00:38:20] Unknown:
That's incredibly dramatic.
[00:38:22] Unknown:
The whole thing is kinda nuts. I mean, you gotta make the plane. You gotta make the plane. Because, obviously, there wasn't a good reason. It wasn't like, oh, you know, my mom called me and she was having, like, something was wrong. You know, he It was an unexcused absence. Tell you Oubre. Oubre. Yeah. He's fine. I like him. He's fine. Oh, okay. Not under he wasn't under top 5, though. No. No. No. I mean, he's not top 5, but I like him.
[00:38:46] Unknown:
But, yeah, that seems a little bit dramatic. It's because then it's like the whole thing, like, we always talk about, like it just he's an adult. Like, he doesn't need to be I guess, like, for me, like, can't you get a warning first? Or maybe he has, and maybe now he had to get it suspended because but if it's, like, one strike, you're out. That's and then, again, to be, like,
[00:39:11] Unknown:
I know he's gonna do better. He's recommitted to the team. It's, like, okay. Yeah. It's kinda weird. What's he gonna do? What where is he gonna go? Yeah. How's he gonna be committed by not playing? And he's been out for a while, so then it's, like, now he's just missing more games. Yeah. And not even because he's injured. A little a little much. But what do I know? Yeah. Speaking of top 5, they I don't know when this was from, but Kevin Durant was asked his top 5 players that he's played within his career.
[00:39:39] Unknown:
And I will say his answer was a little bit interesting. Top 5 players you have played with all of them. I just wanna remind you before you answer this. Right? You played with some really good fucking players, and somebody's gonna get left out. They are. And I'm fine with that. I love him. See, that's just me. And I was with the game. Top 5 players you ever played with? Kyrie. James. James. Mhmm.
[00:40:02] Unknown:
Steph.
[00:40:03] Unknown:
Steph.
[00:40:04] Unknown:
Klay.
[00:40:05] Unknown:
Klay.
[00:40:06] Unknown:
And I'm gonna go I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go with Sergey Barker.
[00:40:10] Unknown:
Sergey Barker? Damn. Now who lean our name?
[00:40:15] Unknown:
Jason Tim. What? You play with him on the USA? Not what they're asking.
[00:40:21] Unknown:
That's not what they're asking.
[00:40:23] Unknown:
Okay. He left out Devin Booker.
[00:40:25] Unknown:
That's one. That's not the most important one. No. Bradley Beal. Who no. Who do you play with an OKC back in the day? Dwight Howard. Oh my gosh. No. I'm gonna let you drown for another second. I'll take a couple more guesses. Don't. It's they you see, you haven't been watching basketball on it. No. I haven't been I'm I did. Okay. So let me think for a sec. Is he still in the league? Yes.
[00:40:50] Unknown:
Chris Paul.
[00:40:54] Unknown:
Russell Westbrook. Oh. Russ. And then they brought up I killed the clip too early, but they brought up Russell, and then he's like, oh, yeah. Russ. I mean, he could've easily just kinda, like No. Not not with the relationship that they've had because they were, like, BFFs, and then they were mortal enemies. And now they've, like, since patched it up, so I don't think you can just forget that. Especially when you say Serge Ibaka who played they played on the same team together. They were on that OKC came team together. Oh, yeah. Okay. So it's a little tough to hear, but because, you know, Russ is my guy. Russ is one of my top five players. So is KD. Well, I guess that I think that he was probably a little
[00:41:33] Unknown:
much.
[00:41:34] Unknown:
There's potential in that for me about him. But d Book was left off the list, but I don't think he's better than the I mean, he's better than Serge Baca. But Serge Baca actually in his own way was was an animal. You have to say
[00:41:46] Unknown:
the other guys. Who was this 4th guy?
[00:41:50] Unknown:
Clay. Clay. Which Clay was a little bit of an odd one too. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:41:55] Unknown:
First, we make sense.
[00:41:57] Unknown:
Yeah. But yeah.
[00:42:00] Unknown:
Interesting.
[00:42:01] Unknown:
Yeah. Left arm for us. Sad to see.
[00:42:04] Unknown:
That's a fun that's a fun question.
[00:42:07] Unknown:
Top 5 players you played with? Yeah. I know. It was good.
[00:42:10] Unknown:
Because he's been around town, and he's been in the league a long time. He's played with a lot of different guys. Longer he'll be in in the league.
[00:42:17] Unknown:
I think he's got some decent time. I mean, he's still playing a very high level.
[00:42:22] Unknown:
I think so too. Is there anyone league though. So Ron James is, you know, gonna be 40 or whatever, or maybe just turned 40 or something. But he is he the longest tenured in the league at the moment?
[00:42:38] Unknown:
Probably not, because there's probably, like, a guy who's, like, not quite as as, like, prominent. Mhmm. Let's see, though.
[00:42:47] Unknown:
I mean, Kevin Durant's up there, And Al and Conley.
[00:42:54] Unknown:
I was thinking Mike Conley, he's in this game. He's definitely one of them. But now LeBron James is the oldest player in the 2020, 2024, 2025.
[00:43:04] Unknown:
Yeah. Which is crazy. That is nuts. And he's so still so good.
[00:43:11] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, I mean, you know my take. I'm not even sure you can say this. This might be slanderous, but I the way so he had that crazy left handed dunk the other night, and I'm like, this dude has to be on some performance enhancers.
[00:43:23] Unknown:
The it's difficult to see him doing this without thinking that. Necessarily is on performance enhancers because that's risky biz. Bad for his brand. But he has access to things that we couldn't even fathom, so I think he's got the good genes. Like performance and answers?
[00:43:45] Unknown:
I don't know. Anti aging. Well, he has famously like, he says he spends over I mean, he said, I think, a1000000, but I'm sure it's over that now, $1,000,000 a year just on his body Mhmm. In whatever capacity it is. I'm sure that's, like, part of, like, what he pays his trainer, what his diet and nutrition is, whatever, but, you know, steroids aren't cheap. So maybe they are. I have no idea. Clearly, I've never been on any, but
[00:44:15] Unknown:
my performance has never been enhanced. Well, I don't think he is.
[00:44:19] Unknown:
Yeah. I'm just saying, it just felt like he had slowed down, like, a few years ago a little more. Like, he didn't have that same pop, and now all of a sudden he's, like, going up and then switching hands from the right to the left and dunking on people. It's just a little bit jarring to see. It feels like it's, like, a a different level than he had previously.
[00:44:37] Unknown:
I have a couple questions. Why why is Marcus Smart hurt? Fine with him.
[00:44:44] Unknown:
Yeah. Is he out? I didn't know he's out there. I was wondering. Out.
[00:44:48] Unknown:
And my second question is, Edie, is he a rookie this year? He is. Zach Edie. He's pretty good, that guy. Played for Purdue. He's wicked born. He's huge, though. I know. That's what I remember you saying that, and I feel like there was question whether he was gonna really be able to be obviously, he's very tall, but, you know, good in the NBA, but it sounds like it looks like he's made his way
[00:45:14] Unknown:
pretty quick. Yeah. No. He is he has played well, because there were there were a lot of concerns, like you said, about he might not be able to do it. Mhmm. And he certainly has been good.
[00:45:25] Unknown:
Yeah. Good for him.
[00:45:30] Unknown:
It says, Marcus has a partial tear of the proximal extensor hood index index finger, which he sustained against the Atlanta Hawks in December week to week.
[00:45:45] Unknown:
Damn.
[00:45:47] Unknown:
And then maybe a thumb fracture. Hold on. Gonna click this PR link from the Memphis Grizzlies. Just being lazy. Oh, no. That's, that's Cam Spencer. Got her too. But, yeah, right index finger is considered week to week. So Holy. Poor guys missed a lot of time. Things have not gone well for him since he left. Bad luck. Yeah. But when you play the game that way, you definitely leave yourself open to it. Just felt like he was a little more bulletproof when he was playing with us, but Mhmm. Get older and you still have that same, like, mentality where you're playing that hard. Eventually, the wheels are gonna start coming off a little bit more, I think. But, yeah, it just varies. I mean, I'm glad at least Memphis is good. At least he's on a team that's solid.
They would kill me if he was, like, in Toronto or something. Oh. So at least at least he's somewhere where they matter. They're, like, in the hunt. Yeah.
[00:46:44] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:46:44] Unknown:
And they could give teams prom because they're huge with Jaren Jackson junior and Zach Eddy. They're massive.
[00:46:50] Unknown:
Mhmm.
[00:46:51] Unknown:
And, obviously, Jaw is a freak. So they're pretty well constructed, but I I don't know. I just think in the end, they might not really have what it takes, but they're an interesting team. Definitely. They're fun to watch too. They play really fast.
[00:47:07] Unknown:
Mhmm. Yeah. I think, like you said, they seem to be constructed pretty well, but something they don't always end up with the w.
[00:47:23] Unknown:
I'm gonna check Zac Eady's stats too.
[00:47:26] Unknown:
Because is he star, I think?
[00:47:28] Unknown:
Yeah. He started this game. I don't know if he's starting all year, but he, he started this game. Let me see how many how many games he started. Yeah. The bit played 24 games. He started 17 of them. So solid amount is averaging 10 points, 7 and a half rebounds.
[00:47:50] Unknown:
That guy, 22 on, Memphis. Desmond Bane. Wait. I think I talked to we talked about this last time. I just think he'd he doesn't look like a basketball player. He looks He looks like he likes to go to the gym and workout. Yeah. He looks like I was gonna say he looks like a gym rat. He looks He's like a meathead looking dude. Yeah.
[00:48:07] Unknown:
Yeah. He always kills us with his name. It looks like he looks like a Bane. Desmond Bane, I know.
[00:48:14] Unknown:
Dun dun dun. That's how I feel. And look how he walks. Yeah. He's a force.
[00:48:21] Unknown:
Yeah. He plays hard. Yeah. I don't know why it just always sticks out to me that he, like, kills us when we play them.
[00:48:26] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:48:27] Unknown:
Might be wrong, but
[00:48:30] Unknown:
Yeah. Maybe right.
[00:48:34] Unknown:
You love to get a little a little tune in Yeah. To turn the podcast. You know, I just find myself singing a lot during the day,
[00:48:43] Unknown:
and so does our son. I was just saying that is certainly rubbed off on town. The kid won't stop singing. And it's the same tune every time with just different words. Yeah. And now it's just starting to sound like nails on a chalkboard. Yeah. It's crazy. Really mean, but I'm like, oh my gosh. I gotta teach him a new a new, like, a new song.
[00:49:06] Unknown:
Yeah. We gotta get something else pumped into him because it's tough, and he is just relentless with it. So funny. He won't stop.
[00:49:15] Unknown:
Oh, it's so funny. It is funny because he put some funny ones together. Mhmm. And he knows too. He knows when it will be funny. He can he'll look at you like, that was funny, I think. I gotta record 1. I'll bring 1 to the pod one of these days. Yeah. We ought to get him to do one about the Celtics.
[00:49:31] Unknown:
Yeah. That would be funny. He's just singing about the Celtics. Let's start singing something. Yeah. Maybe tomorrow during the game, we can get him to do it if he's if he takes a nap and then Mhmm. If we actually let him watch it. I don't know. But I know. That sounds crazy. I don't know. At 6 o'clock maybe. I'm just thinking,
[00:49:50] Unknown:
that I'm tired.
[00:49:54] Unknown:
Another thing I saw, which I'm not gonna play a little clip because he he doesn't really talk about it. He only talks about it at the end. But, Tyler Harrow, when he was drafted in 2019, the Celtics had the 14 pick, and they said that they were gonna take him at 14 before Miami took him right one pick before us at 13. And do you know who we took the very next pick? Do you have a do you wanna venture a guess?
[00:50:28] Unknown:
Grant Williams.
[00:50:30] Unknown:
No.
[00:50:34] Unknown:
Aaron Eastwood.
[00:50:36] Unknown:
No. Do one more.
[00:50:39] Unknown:
Payton Pritchard.
[00:50:41] Unknown:
No.
[00:50:41] Unknown:
I have no idea, Sean. Romeo
[00:50:45] Unknown:
Langford. How
[00:50:48] Unknown:
awful. That's wild.
[00:50:50] Unknown:
My computer is glitching out right now, but I was trying to get room where he Romeo Langford's playing now and Romeo Langford career stats, but I mean, you know What is he doing? He's playing he's not playing anywhere around here. No. I know that. He is playing somewhere overseas. He's playing in the French league French elite league, I think. So, you know, probably fine, but he's he's done here for sure. Yeah. Plays for LNB Elite. And he played for the Celtics. He played for the Red Claws. He played for the Spurs, and then the Salt Lake City Stars, who I'm guessing is a g league team.
Mhmm. But his, his career stats let me go. Yeah. He averaged 4.6 points per game in his career. Oh, yeah. Absolutely trash. You know, not our favorite guy, but Amazing. Would have been nice. Just would have been
[00:51:51] Unknown:
nice. Light years away from Could have been better.
[00:51:54] Unknown:
Could have been better. Light years. Like sneaky. We're always kinda rooting for Romeo in a weird way, but he just looked like he couldn't have cared less out there all the time. I know. He always just looked like he was half asleep out there. Yeah. Like, couldn't get wait couldn't wait to get back to his bed. Yeah. Just couldn't wait to lay down. Yeah.
[00:52:12] Unknown:
So
[00:52:13] Unknown:
it, yeah. Not the best, but
[00:52:17] Unknown:
That's very interesting.
[00:52:19] Unknown:
Yeah. My computer is totally, totally glitching. Thank goodness I got all those clips in. Thank goodness.
[00:52:26] Unknown:
They were good. But They were good ones.
[00:52:29] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, I mean, it came with nothing today.
[00:52:32] Unknown:
Yeah. It came with not a thing. No. I really didn't. But it's
[00:52:36] Unknown:
but that's part of it though, for me anyway. Yeah. But I will say, shout out to you because you sent me which I don't I don't think it's interesting enough to play, but, we're well, I'm giving you credit though. Where Bob Manning, asked, Joe about the usage rate with Tatum and Joe started quizzing him about, like, what usage rate was, and he nerded out. And it seemed like Bob Manning maybe didn't know what it meant, but then that led me to the worst game of the season clip. So of course, lost to the season. So Oh my gosh. Bob. Yeah. Bob. I mean, Bob, grow up, dude.
[00:53:12] Unknown:
Bob's gonna find us. I mean, specifically.
[00:53:16] Unknown:
I'm gonna find him. I already said that previously. I haven't found him yet. I haven't I haven't searched too hard to find his house, but I am gonna find out I wanna egg his house. Mhmm. Next game we go, I'm gonna go down find him, rip his media credential off.
[00:53:32] Unknown:
Yeah. And give it to me.
[00:53:33] Unknown:
Yeah. Exactly. I mean, he it I'm I'm done talking about them, but, yeah, just terrible.
[00:53:45] Unknown:
Yeah. It was an interesting week. I mean, I can't believe that it here we are. We're gonna make a quick, you gotta make a quick turnover. With the pod for tomorrow morning, I just can't believe that we're already here recording again. It's been
[00:54:01] Unknown:
one More than a week. Because I think we did it on, like, Friday last time or something. Those just went by fast. Yeah. Time flies when you're having fun, you know. Mhmm.
[00:54:11] Unknown:
Sometimes And it was, like, tricky too because we couldn't record during a game, which feels a little
[00:54:17] Unknown:
odd. Yeah. I know. Because we thank goodness we found a game to put on in the background. Yeah. It just wouldn't if there was nothing on the background, it wouldn't feel right. This game has been pretty interesting. They're both grinding.
[00:54:31] Unknown:
Yeah. No. There are a couple of good teams. It's it's fine to watch.
[00:54:36] Unknown:
But watch tomorrow. He's part of it, even if we gotta keep down away. Then who else do they have coming up?
[00:54:44] Unknown:
Pelicans and then someone else, I thought. Oh, no. I don't know if it's someone easy or not.
[00:54:53] Unknown:
Let's see. They got the Pelicans, the raptors, should be easy. We previously crushed them. The Magic. What's his name's coming back soon too? I know. I don't know if he's gonna be back then, but
[00:55:05] Unknown:
I think he might be.
[00:55:07] Unknown:
Yeah. Then your boy, done for the season, did you say?
[00:55:11] Unknown:
Yeah. Jaden or something? Yeah. McDaniels?
[00:55:16] Unknown:
Yeah. I thought he was I always thought he was gonna be out for the season. I don't know because they did like, they said after the surgery that I had, so I don't know if maybe they thought if, like, it went a certain way, but I kinda did too, but then they, like, officially announced it. Yeah. Yeah. But good games against the Hawks coming up, club, Warriors, Clippers, Lakers, Mavs, Rockets again. So some fun games coming up for sure. Definitely looking forward to those. Hope the boys get back on track. Hopefully. What was that?
I just You're exhausted already. Oh, for sure.
[00:55:48] Unknown:
But I need I need them to get it together.
[00:55:51] Unknown:
Yeah. I but, I mean, I will say I'm still very high on them. I think that a lot of people are just, like, count them out or, like, whatever her name is. Joan Mazzola's new best friend is, like, you know, we've just needed to see signs, and we're not saying what is that? What is what do you mean see signs? Oh, yeah. That really got me. What signs they talking about. Like, who are you to say? Shut up. You get very wound up. Like, who are you to say that
[00:56:15] Unknown:
you're not seeing signs? We're not seeing the signs. And who first of all, who's we, and what the heck signs are you talking about,
[00:56:24] Unknown:
and who are you to say? Yeah. It was like when Run into it. It was like when Bob was Bob Manning was saying, we're letting this team off the hook. It's like, what do you what do you mean? You need to see what? Who's letting them off the hook? It off. Who's hook? Yeah. Knock it entirely off. I've had enough. Mm-mm. Oh, I don't what is going on with this?
[00:56:47] Unknown:
Don't stress it, Johnny.
[00:56:49] Unknown:
Oh, my computer's breaking down over here. It's not even about playing clips anymore. My computer's having a meltdown.
[00:56:56] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, maybe just stress it in a little bit.
[00:57:03] Unknown:
I'll stress it when we end it. I may have to get a new laptop. Hopefully, we don't lose the whole podcast.
[00:57:10] Unknown:
Oh, boy. Well, if we we lose it, next time I'll come with more, material.
[00:57:17] Unknown:
Where we rerecord my app, this is the same thing again. Off the dribble.
[00:57:22] Unknown:
You know? Yeah. I work better off the dribble.
[00:57:27] Unknown:
You don't go in with the game plan? You, like, just Yeah. Just pass it to me, see what I do. Just roll the ball out and play? Yeah. I like that.
[00:57:39] Unknown:
Do you have anything else up your sleeve?
[00:57:42] Unknown:
Anything else up my sleeve? They're going nonstop. I just pulled out Romeo Langford.
[00:57:47] Unknown:
I know. That was quite a throwback, and I did enjoy that. Yeah. Out here grinding for the cause.
[00:57:53] Unknown:
I know. I appreciate it. Well, the only thing I've this is not on my sleeve, obviously, because no one helps us out. And I I meant to do this at the beginning because, some people are listening, but clearly not listening the whole way through. Someone send us a take. Someone send us a question. Someone send us a note.
[00:58:10] Unknown:
But, yeah, it's, like, there we get some listeners, but they could just maybe turn it on for a second and then turn it on. Wow. This is this is a tough lesson. They shut it off. What is this? And then they're like, oh, okay. I'm not into it. Yeah.
[00:58:24] Unknown:
I mean, it's definitely gonna be tough for us because we're not out here grinding on the on the media platforms. No. I'm gonna start grinding on that stuff. That's my next step. I just had to make sure we're gonna keep recording this. But this is this is episode number 8. So dock off air. Strategy or
[00:58:42] Unknown:
Yeah. Strategy.
[00:58:45] Unknown:
Do you have ideas? No. You got nothing. I know. You got nothing. That's the thing. I'm like, we'll talk off air. Alright. We'll talk off air. Mhmm. But I got some idea. I'm gonna start doing it. I'm a start grinding it out. Need it.
[00:59:01] Unknown:
This game is neck and neck.
[00:59:04] Unknown:
It's been a good game. Crazy high scoring too. They're both almost at 90 points with 5 minutes left in the 3rd. Mhmm. Nobody playing any defense. They also both play very fast, so feel like that has a lot to do with it.
[00:59:16] Unknown:
Are we also just not very good at defense, technically, this year?
[00:59:23] Unknown:
I don't know. Statistically
[00:59:24] Unknown:
speaking?
[00:59:26] Unknown:
I'll see what the, like, how we compare to everybody else what the net rating is. Mhmm.
[00:59:34] Unknown:
Yeah. I don't know. I think I read we were 20 something. Does that sound wrong?
[00:59:43] Unknown:
No. I mean, I definitely don't think that we're we're way up there currently. Mhmm. Let's see.
[00:59:52] Unknown:
He lights off the All Star list for right now.
[00:59:56] Unknown:
This is number 7. Oh, maybe I got something else mixed up. Yeah. Oklahoma City, number 1. Mhmm. Orlando, Houston, Memphis, Minnesota, LA, Boston, Milwaukee, Golden State, Cleveland. It's the top 10. Oh, wow. Interesting.
[01:00:11] Unknown:
Yeah.
[01:00:13] Unknown:
So not bad. Not bad. But, yeah. I mean, I think last year, we were, like, one of the like, we might have been the top team. Yeah. Or one of them. And Oklahoma City is the number one, so definitely wanna be high. Mhmm. That seems to be a good indicator for success.
[01:00:35] Unknown:
Yeah. I think we need to turn up the heat.
[01:00:38] Unknown:
Yeah. There there are some times, because, KP in that clip that he was talking about, how he's he's not, like, we're gonna get it all figured out. He was saying they were asking about the defense and the effort, and he was like, you know, sometimes one of us thinks someone's going, and we both don't go, so then we're stuck there. And there are sometimes they look very lax on defense, and then when they do turn it up, you're like, oh, this is this is a legit defensive team. I think they just rely on their offense a little bit too much, and then we get, like, so reliant on our threes, and then we don't make them. And then if the defense isn't there, then that's how you lose the teams that you should beat most of the time. Mhmm. And, like, lose pretty handily against Sacramento who didn't even have Darren Fox.
So it's also obviously concerning.
[01:01:27] Unknown:
Yeah. I don't know. But that's also kinda what we do with teams, like, that are maybe not as good of the as us or also shorthanded. We just kinda
[01:01:38] Unknown:
crumble. Yeah. Because Tatum was, like, I don't wanna say this is a trap. This was a trap game. I'm like, well, that means you are saying it was a trap game. What does that mean? Where, like, you kinda just, like, like, like, you fall into a trap type of thing where you get, like, a little bit lazy about, like, what you're doing or, like, you Has Fox been out for a little while? I don't know. I didn't think so, but I just saw that he didn't play in the game.
[01:02:01] Unknown:
Yeah. Sometimes I wonder, like, in at things like that. Excuse me. I just really have to yell. Or things like that, do they just are they unprepared because or underprepared because people that they're not maybe as familiar with are playing more? Or that road those rotations or something. I don't know.
[01:02:27] Unknown:
Yeah. And I just think also too, it's like you take a team a little lightly. Like, I think that's what he's saying where, you know, they're not a team that they don't have their best player. They just lost their coach. They're, you know, they're not, like, okay, see, so you don't get up for that game. And then all of a sudden, you get in a in a dog fight, and then you're like, oh, now we really gotta play. And by that point, it's too late. Mhmm.
[01:02:53] Unknown:
Yeah. It feels like that's kinda what happened.
[01:02:57] Unknown:
Yeah. But, hey, like, subscribe, comment, tell somebody, send us a note, send us a take, ask us a question. Multiple. Again, if you send it, we will do it next time. That's a promise.
[01:03:12] Unknown:
Yeah. I would love some question and answer.
[01:03:16] Unknown:
Would love just one. That'd be great. One would be nice. We'll start there.
[01:03:21] Unknown:
Alright.
[01:03:22] Unknown:
Alright. See you. Have a good one. Stay blessed out there.
[01:03:25] Unknown:
Yeah.
