Sunday night getting this one done late, but we're getting it done. Yes. We are.
[00:00:09] Unknown:
There's no rules anymore.
[00:00:12] Unknown:
No. There's never been rules. No. Never will be. Been making it up for a while now.
[00:00:19] Unknown:
Yep. Yep. Sunday night, we're watching the Cleveland Memphis game just to keep tabs on what's going on around around the NBA because we're real NBA fans. The ratings are not going down because of us.
[00:00:34] Unknown:
No. Certainly not. Nice Celtics win today. It got closer in the third quarter, but they really dominated the Knicks overall. The Knicks have no shot against us.
[00:00:47] Unknown:
Against anyone, really, it seems.
[00:00:50] Unknown:
Yeah. They did also get killed by Cleveland.
[00:00:54] Unknown:
Yeah. And who else?
[00:00:57] Unknown:
Well, they everyone. That's what they're oh, everyone. Well, not everyone. They're they're third place in the East, but they haven't beat they're o for seven against OKC, Cleveland, and Boston. Mhmm. The top three teams in the league. So
[00:01:10] Unknown:
Yeah. It's a big story. Big story right now. The Knicks losing.
[00:01:17] Unknown:
It gotta be tough for them. But
[00:01:20] Unknown:
But anyway.
[00:01:22] Unknown:
Anyway.
[00:01:23] Unknown:
We won.
[00:01:24] Unknown:
Yeah. You got anywhere you wanna start?
[00:01:30] Unknown:
Well, there's a few ways we could go, but there's a few ways we could go. But first, we'll just do quickly a little shout out to my cousin, Jeff, because he's also a true fan.
[00:01:45] Unknown:
Shout out to Jeff. And so I did do some research. I was like, Jeff's saying he's number one fan. We were saying Kim's number one fan. And Jeff was messaging the Celtic's Talk Instagram in 2022. The Celtic's Talk Instagram has been around for a while. Under 50 followers, but been been active for a minute, and Jeff has been there since day one. So shout out to Jeff for sure. Yeah.
[00:02:13] Unknown:
Shout out to Jeff. Thank you for thank you for everything.
[00:02:18] Unknown:
We can also talk about just
[00:02:21] Unknown:
I mean, let's go back to it, but we'll start with the all star or all star break.
[00:02:27] Unknown:
All star break. What'd you think about the all star break overall?
[00:02:31] Unknown:
Oh, I was thinking that I just missed the Celtics. I just missed the good old Celtics game. I like to watch Celtics games.
[00:02:42] Unknown:
It makes you appreciate just any real games. That's for sure. Yeah. Obviously, the Celtics, but just having a real game on, it it really underrated when you start watching the garbage they were throwing out there. It's not even that. Like, it's not even that.
[00:02:58] Unknown:
It was just the amount of time without without them playing. Like, I'm not mad at the all star game. I'm not mad like, there's many things I could say, but it was really just the length of time between Celtics games I don't like.
[00:03:16] Unknown:
You just don't even need it in general. No. I don't need it. I don't need it. Personally, I don't need it. You don't need to you don't think it needs to be fixed. You need to think you need it you think it needs to be abolished. It needs to be gone.
[00:03:31] Unknown:
I just don't I just maybe have it, in the off season. I haven't in the off season. Did I just make a great suggestion?
[00:03:40] Unknown:
No. Oh, no. I didn't. No one's gonna care at all during the off season.
[00:03:46] Unknown:
Yeah. No. No. No. No. But, yeah, I just missed the Celtics not playing, but and I didn't I just well, I don't really care much for the, way that they did it, the setup of it all. I could hear Draymond from a mile away in his comments about how awful it was. But I also think, you know, they're trying to do something new and try to make it more competitive, and I can appreciate that. But I do feel bad for the very little amount of time most of them played, you know, and that the rising stars, you know, don't aren't are not all stars.
[00:04:35] Unknown:
Yeah. Rising Stars game always fine. Should've probably kept it the way that it was. I think having them play against the all stars was a bit of a setup, and then it proved to be quite a setup. They really went nowhere. People were saying it was trash. And then, really, the craziest part to me was that during the final game when they did the TNT group, like Chuck, Shaq, Kenny, and whatever Ernie, whatever his name is. And it was, like, a twenty minute break Yeah. Like, five minutes into the game. So the guys are just sitting there just kinda hanging out. Like that. Nobody liked that? Liked how much Kevin Hart talked. People were upset with Kevin.
[00:05:21] Unknown:
I I mean, to me, if I'm just being honest, it was not fun. It wasn't really fun. I wasn't entertained at all.
[00:05:36] Unknown:
No. Most entertaining thing was the dunk contest, which wasn't even that great, but that was the most entertaining thing that happened. And to follow that up, some of the guys are saying maybe they're gonna get back into it. Jah said he wants to do it. Zach LaVine maybe is gonna do it.
[00:05:55] Unknown:
Jahness. Jahness said he would do it if Jah did it. I mean, that would be awesome. I don't know if it's gonna make the all star game more competitive.
[00:06:04] Unknown:
No. But just the weekend in general. I think they should stop trying to make the game competitive. Am I yeah. Am I just like a
[00:06:13] Unknown:
am I just a dummy? Because, like, I don't really care that it's not competitive.
[00:06:20] Unknown:
No. It's really not about that anymore. Like, I get there used to be some competitive games. I'm sure they were great But it's like fifteen, twenty years ago. It's not I would like to talk to a,
[00:06:31] Unknown:
I would like to talk to somebody who really wants it to be super competitive. I wanna talk to a fan, just a fan like you were you and I, one that's, like, chopping at the bit regarding the all star game and how it's awful, and they need to make it more competitive. I'd love to talk to a fan who cares that much.
[00:06:56] Unknown:
Yeah. I don't even know if I wanna talk to that type of fan. That type of fan is because I don't understand it. Yeah. So I would like to know that their perspective. Yeah. It just to me, it doesn't need to be that competitive of a game. It can just be to have some fun to see these guys go out there. And as we've seen in the past few years ago, Tatum and Jalen were on opposite teams the way the format was. They were getting competitive with each other with some one on one stuff. I think you let it be as competitive as the guys want it to be. If they're going hard and they're having moments where it's competitive, that's great. If they're out there just launching,
[00:07:31] Unknown:
you know, shots from half court They will have moments, though. I think I think that, like, I think they will have moments.
[00:07:40] Unknown:
Yeah. And I I don't know. I mean, it just wasn't it wasn't a great product at the end of the day. It wasn't a great product. Whatever they wanted happened just didn't work. No. It was pretty trash. I think the players kinda thought it was. No one really seemed that until they were trying to support it. They didn't really admit it, but
[00:07:59] Unknown:
I think they were kinda like, this is bogus.
[00:08:02] Unknown:
Yeah. Like you said, no one admitted it, but no one came out of that being like, this was great. We we solved it. Let's do this again. So at all. No. I totally agree. So yeah. I mean, overall, kinda brutal. Glad that we're into the second half. And I'll say, I mean, even though it's not that far into it, like, we're just a week removed from the all star game, but teams seem to be gearing up for the playoffs already. The Celtics look absolutely locked in. These games are getting very competitive. There was just a little, scrum in the Memphis Cleveland game. So teams seem to be eyes on the prize, wanted to win the championship, and thank God real basketball's back because that was a tough watch. Yeah. The Cabo sun
[00:08:51] Unknown:
and the Turks And Caicos sun helped these guys get back on track. Yeah. I mean, Holiday looked unbelievable. He looked fresh today. Yeah. Well, it's good to see. I think that they're finally just, like, they're over the hump. That's the hump, and they're over it. That was good.
[00:09:09] Unknown:
Yeah. Alright. Enough on the all star game, all star weekend, but shout out to nobody for that. That was awful.
[00:09:18] Unknown:
What what's his name? LaMelo Ball's brother?
[00:09:25] Unknown:
Lonzo.
[00:09:26] Unknown:
No.
[00:09:28] Unknown:
Jelo. Jelo.
[00:09:29] Unknown:
Yeah. Yeah. I didn't know if you were gonna do it. Like, the whole time I was asking for his name, I was like, shoot. I don't remember how this song goes, but I got it. It came to me. I got it. You panicked. Yeah. Because he performed, and I didn't watch it, but it still might have been my highlight.
[00:09:54] Unknown:
Incredible. You've been waiting a couple podcasts now to get that one out. I didn't know it was coming today, but it did. I had forgot about it and then came out of nowhere. We needed that, though. Need to have some fun. You know? Yeah. I mean, it's not a Chelsea's Talk podcast if you don't drop a bar. So I don't know if I dropped the bar last episode. So You know, this might have to be episode 12 then. Last episode, I might have to can it.
[00:10:21] Unknown:
Good song.
[00:10:23] Unknown:
Oh, the one that so, actually, the the only thing I'll say, and I think that I don't know. If you like the Celtics, I like this or if and or if you don't like LeBron, I think this is worth looking up. There was the clip of LeBron walking into the locker. Also, LeBron, grow up coming into the to the all star game two hours before saying you're not playing. Right. Not did like, in the photo, he didn't even put a jersey on. So, like, did the photos in street clothes. Looks like the coach. Complete loser. But when he came into the locker room, first guy he sees is Tatum. They have a whole handshake that they do, which, as I said to you off off air and bizarre to me that grown men have handshakes. So, like, when they don't see each other for, like, weeks, then they see each other, they just remember the handshake with a grown man. And this is for, like, fifth It's just something we must not understand.
I played basketball. I do understand. When I was in high school, yeah, fine. If if on your team, if you have a handshake with the guys on your team, fine. If a guy not on your team you got a handshake with, they're like, you don't see him for a month, and then you just go and you know the whole thing. It's not for me. But then he gave Jaylen the coldest dap I've ever seen in my life.
[00:11:35] Unknown:
So what did he what did Jaylen say about Bronnie back in the day?
[00:11:40] Unknown:
Well, I don't know I don't know how much he said publicly, but he definitely he was at a game. It might have been a G League game or a Summer League game, and he Oh. The lip readers were saying Oh, yeah. Yeah. That he was saying some stuff. I'm gonna look it up exactly what he said. I am recalling. I am recalling.
[00:11:58] Unknown:
He was talking to his girlfriend, ex girlfriend.
[00:12:01] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:12:02] Unknown:
And Angel Reese.
[00:12:06] Unknown:
Yeah. He said he's not a pro. Pro. Yeah. He's not a pro. He's not wrong. I don't think Bronny is a pro. I mean, yeah, he's not. He's clearly not. I mean, maybe he's a pro in, like, a g league type situation. That's fine. But he's not a pro. That feels I mean, it feels like that's that's kinda been established at this point.
[00:12:30] Unknown:
Yeah. Well yeah. So, you know, he doesn't seem that he likes Jaylen Brown. I'm fine with that. Then I guess this says that,
[00:12:38] Unknown:
then he tweeted, like, this account said, Jaylen Brown said, I don't think Brown is a pro. And then Jaylen tweeted, it's a flex to have your son alongside you in the NBA. It reflects greatness and longevity. Brown has all the tools around him to be successful. I look forward to watching his growth. So still didn't say he was a pro, but I don't think he told any lies there either. So
[00:12:59] Unknown:
No. He knows how to not lie.
[00:13:02] Unknown:
Yeah. He has I think he has a tough time not telling the truth. Yeah. I feel like he's my fellow Scorpio. Yeah. So where I thought you were gonna wanna start, I kinda tried to tee you up, was for the Greg Jennings comments. You specifically told me to have this ready to go.
[00:13:22] Unknown:
And I'm looking at you with a blank stare. I don't even know what I'm talking about.
[00:13:26] Unknown:
Let me And and, like, so why do you think he's just kinda dismissed as it? Jason Taylor. I it's hard to put your finger on it. Me too. I just know that he's And I like him a lot. I feel like with Tatum, there's
[00:13:40] Unknown:
no there's no flare to his game. He has, obviously, he has a tremendous package. He has a great game, but there's no there's nothing that you watch Jayson Tatum and you get excited. When you look at faces of the league, you're gonna have Yeah. You're gonna have kids saying, I wanna be that guy. I wanna be that guy. And I I just don't see kids saying that about Jayson. And his game
[00:14:02] Unknown:
I mean, that's from a football player who played for the Green Bay Packers who was about as boring a wide receiver as exists on the planet.
[00:14:13] Unknown:
I just shook my head the entire time listening to that over again because that made me so mad when I first heard it. Because I'm just like, well, first of all, like I said to you recently, like, grown men talking that seriously about I get it's their job, but them talking that seriously about, another man or in, like, a sport. I'm like, I get it's your job, but no.
[00:14:42] Unknown:
Especially guys that played the game, you would think would have a little more respect for other guys who are out there doing it. Some of these guys, they make their name on being negative, and they've only ever been some guy who got stuffed in a locker when he was in high school. And so I can understand a little more, but this dude played in the NFL, and that's the take.
[00:15:02] Unknown:
There's no flare. And I'm just like, I don't know that you understand then what what you're watching, sir, because, like, I I don't want flare. I don't want flare. I just want a really good, solid player who seems to be a good human, and that's what he is. Not the face of the league. Who's the face of the league then?
[00:15:25] Unknown:
Well, also, I mean, really solid player. I would say right now, I mean, besides SGA, no one is playing close to as good a basketball as Jayson Tatum is. He's been incredible the last couple months. Yeah. Almost had a triple double today, had a triple double last game.
[00:15:46] Unknown:
I mean, makes every right decision. And it seems like he's having fun out there. Now I feel like he's, like, taking some, like obviously, he is very good. He can generate a lot of points for himself. But I feel like he's taking, like, more pride in, like, making plays, you know, having fun on the court with everybody, getting everybody involved. I don't understand how it's not fun to watch.
[00:16:15] Unknown:
No. He's I mean, he's totally stopped taking bad shots. He's not forcing anything. Yeah. And, I mean, he's super interesting. His kid is hilarious. He's always with his kid. He's always bring I mean, Deuce, not to keep talking about the all star game, but no one was more places than Deuce on all star weekend. Guy was everywhere. He was. As he should be. Yeah. But it just seems like he absolutely should be one of the faces of the league. I don't think there's ever a face of the league. Think he is. I just don't understand what
[00:16:46] Unknown:
this conversation's even about.
[00:16:49] Unknown:
Like, what's it even about? There's no other guy that they say he can't be the face of the league about in the NBA. There's not a single other guy they do that about. I don't get the hate for Tatum. Me neither. We don't get it. It's bizarre.
[00:17:01] Unknown:
I'm even trying to look at it from an unbiased point of view. Like, I don't get it, but I am biased. But
[00:17:15] Unknown:
No. It makes absolutely no sense. It's crazy. Painful to hear. Yeah. And like you said, just grown men needing to talk like that about other guys is crazy. How do you feel like it?
[00:17:27] Unknown:
I don't know. I don't know if we're doing the same thing here, but whatever.
[00:17:37] Unknown:
So we have been watching the, Court of Gold on Netflix. I think it's pretty good. I mean, they got some crazy access. Netflix has definitely figured it out with the NBA, and they do a lot of other stuff too. To like we talked about the other night. There's so much
[00:17:53] Unknown:
to consume right now that's not just an NBA game. I don't understand how people are not loving loving it.
[00:18:02] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean I'm loving it. Yeah. I don't get how ratings are down, but either way, one city is coming March 3. Yeah. Shout out to that. That's really sick. Yeah. And, I don't I don't think it was on the first episode because we've only watched one so far. But, Kevin Durant, there was a clip going around that where he talked about basketball saving his life, which I just thought was interesting. It made it made him cry too. He was bawling. And Kevin Durant is just a very interesting guy because he kind of has, like, a hard outer shell. Like, he doesn't seem to let people in very much. He's kind of a killer on the court, but he really, really broke down talking about this. I saw how much he can do to you, man. No. For oh,
[00:18:52] Unknown:
for sure. Because it's like, I come from neighborhoods where people don't even talk to each other. Like, so much hate in the world too. Like, when you finally people get to start laughing and joking for a game of ball, like, it's cool to me. So, like, you get me emotional, dawg. Oh, my bad. Y'all do that. Because it's it's crazy to see because, like, it's crazy to see a pick somebody say they travel so long and come see their favorite player play, and Olympics, they spend their money. They bring their whole family. Like, it's just dope for me.
[00:19:38] Unknown:
That's too much.
[00:19:41] Unknown:
The game didn't save my life, so it brought me and my family out a lot of bull so I'm just, like, grateful for it.
[00:19:51] Unknown:
That was too much. Does anyone love the game of basketball more than Kevin Durant? Incredible. I just
[00:19:56] Unknown:
am even happier with our discussions on previous episodes about how we are Kevin Durant fans.
[00:20:04] Unknown:
Mega fan. Guy cares. And in a day and age where He's incredible. In a day and age where, like, playing in the Olympics last year was just, like, the cool hip thing to do, but he's been playing consistently for a very long time. He played in the last four when a lot of guys skipped. I mean, Steph Curry, one of just, like, the wonder boys of the league, his first Olympics last time. Mhmm. But not because they didn't want him there, because he didn't wanna be there. LeBron hadn't been there since 02/2012 Yeah. Before last year. So Kevin Durant is about that life.
Yeah. He loves basketball. Basketball loves him. We love him. That's so sweet. Yeah.
[00:20:44] Unknown:
It was very cool to see. There was did you see how he was saying that he just didn't wanna get traded midseason? It wasn't because he didn't wanna go to Warriors?
[00:20:54] Unknown:
Yeah. Because everyone's, like, making a huge deal about, like, the him not wanna get traded and go back to the Warriors. And it's like, well, sometimes people just kind of like living where they're living at the moment. They don't wanna uproot their whole life. They don't wanna trade get traded mid season, and he just wanna
[00:21:11] Unknown:
see it through with his team, which I feel like also so, like, valid and also so casual of him to say. Like like, he's Kevin Durant. Why is he even talking about it? Like, why is it even, like, up for debate? I feel like, no. Oh, he shouldn't be traded.
[00:21:37] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, I mean, you know, teams now, it's like the cool thing to do to trade your biggest stars, it seems, which is crazy to me why you would wanna get rid of your best stars. Like, imagine the Celtics doing that. Imagine the Celtics trading, Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum. No. Just that would be insane. Yeah. They would never. No one would ever trust them ever again. No. Nor should they. These teams, like, Mavericks, even, like, the Suns, like, putting that stuff out there. The Heat trade in gym like, the Jimmy Butler situation going so poorly. Although, I mean, Golden State looks pretty good now. Do they?
Yeah. They crushed, Oh, yeah. I forgot. Who'd they play today? Mavericks. Did they crush the Mavs? No. Obviously, the Mavs are a little down, but the Mavs have been playing pretty well even with AD out.
[00:22:26] Unknown:
This guy, Bane?
[00:22:28] Unknown:
Yeah. Desmond Bane. He I'm exhausted
[00:22:31] Unknown:
watching him. He is flying everywhere, throwing his body everywhere, getting clobbered.
[00:22:40] Unknown:
Yeah. He's built like a linebacker too. Jeez. Yeah. One twenty six one zero two, Golden State beat Dallas today. Steph had 30. Jimmy had 18 on only nine shots. They're not not back.
[00:22:58] Unknown:
Interesting. Yeah. Has there been any update on, Anthony Davis?
[00:23:05] Unknown:
I think he's getting reevaluated in a couple weeks, but just just really, really tough. Because, also, the Lakers have looked awesome. I mean, I know it's been a little bit of a slow start for Luca, but, the Lakers the Nuggets had just won nine straight games. The Lakers beat them. I think they've won, like, 10 of their last 11 or something crazy.
[00:23:31] Unknown:
Mhmm.
[00:23:32] Unknown:
They're really they've really found themselves. They're going off. So I'm not gonna say I'm not afraid of the, of the Lakers. I mean, we're we may not ever see them, but JJ Reddick has a lot of Joe Mazzoulay in him. He said he didn't sleep for two days preparing for the Nuggets game. Ay ay ay. Yeah. Which is a little crazy, but that's kinda what you need. There was a the quotes going around where, Darvin Ham, who was the previous Lakers coach, when asked how he was gonna stop Jokic, he said, I don't know. Maybe we can just try to kidnap him from his house when he goes outside. Obviously, he's not there anymore. And then JJ Reddick's over here saying, yeah. I didn't sleep for two days to prepare for the game. So that's the dedication it takes. How old are his kids?
Reddick?
[00:24:21] Unknown:
Yeah. I feel like they're kinda young. Yeah. I think they are too.
[00:24:25] Unknown:
I'm on it.
[00:24:27] Unknown:
I just I mean, if you don't sleep for two days preparing for a game, then I don't know what you're doing with your your wife and kids. Probably, yours probably MIA for the whole season.
[00:24:39] Unknown:
Would you say? He probably somewhat outlived, but also maybe he's not sleeping, so he can spend some time with the kids if he's sleeping. That's you know, maybe he's doing preparation during the time when he should be sleeping, and then he's still hanging out with the kids. How old are these kids?
[00:24:55] Unknown:
Oh, you don't need to worry about it.
[00:24:58] Unknown:
Oh, I'm already on my way.
[00:25:01] Unknown:
Okay. Well, anyway, looks like it could be either anyone's game, this game. Cleveland or Memphis. Oh, can I say what what Perk said today?
[00:25:22] Unknown:
Oh, yeah. Perk today. So Normally not our boy.
[00:25:26] Unknown:
I'm not sure that this even makes him our boy, but and and he just talks all over the place that I really don't know what to think ever when he talks, but he's calling us to twenty twenty five champs.
[00:25:42] Unknown:
Already ran to crown us. Yeah. He called it today.
[00:25:46] Unknown:
And he said he doesn't see anybody beating us in the seven game series. And the way that we play together, it's beautiful to watch. And I agree with all those things, but I just couldn't believe them coming out of his mouth because I feel like he's the number one Celtics hater. He's such a hater.
[00:26:03] Unknown:
Celtics have looked awesome the last couple of games, though. Yeah. For sure. Everyone playing well. Everyone grinding on defense.
[00:26:12] Unknown:
Yeah. Definitely.
[00:26:13] Unknown:
Drew Holiday looks like the defender. I've been told he he was.
[00:26:18] Unknown:
He White's been so smooth.
[00:26:20] Unknown:
D White's been hitting some clutch shots. He's found a stroke again. JJ, two kids, Knox and Kai. And, Knox is eight years old. I think the other one's younger. I don't have an age, though.
[00:26:37] Unknown:
Cute.
[00:26:39] Unknown:
Yeah. So poor Knox is probably just outside in the driveway by himself just getting jumpers. JJ is like, I'm sorry. I'm studying Jokic post moves right now. I don't have time to rebound. Their their rental house
[00:26:54] Unknown:
burned down.
[00:26:56] Unknown:
Oh, yeah. Because they he didn't buy a house already. They were just renting. Mhmm. Yeah. It's tough. Yeah.
[00:27:05] Unknown:
There wasn't too much stuff in there, Riz.
[00:27:09] Unknown:
I'm sure I'm sure they lost a lot, but another fun game on tonight, Timberwolves and the Thunder.
[00:27:23] Unknown:
Did you see that KG? It might go front office for the Timberwolves? Yeah. It's kinda wild. I love that for KG. I know. I like that for him too. That's nice. That's nice. Good for him. I'll just miss him.
[00:27:37] Unknown:
Well, I was gonna say, does that mean less time on the pod with
[00:27:42] Unknown:
I would say probably.
[00:27:44] Unknown:
I know. I'm like, why would you really give that up just to be in the front office of the Timberwolves?
[00:27:49] Unknown:
He probably gets a good, benefits package.
[00:27:52] Unknown:
I know, but does he need the money? I don't know. We don't know what his financial situation is like. Oh, no. But he's got a very successful podcast. He had a long tenured NBA career. He could go do endorsement deals. He is doing endorsement deals. He had the he's a commercial with Anthony Edwards. Yeah. I mean I mean, good for him. Turn the numb Maybe he wants to dabble. I just I need more KG Paul Pierce gloves. I know.
[00:28:20] Unknown:
And what's Paul gonna do without him?
[00:28:25] Unknown:
Paul Paul's gonna be fine. He's just gonna be chilling. He's gonna be chilling. No one chills harder than Paul Pierce. Yeah.
[00:28:33] Unknown:
He reminds me of me.
[00:28:36] Unknown:
Another another NBA basketball player that reminds you of you?
[00:28:40] Unknown:
Yeah. It is how he lounges in his chair every time, and that's how I am right now.
[00:28:49] Unknown:
Have we played when Paul Pierce tried to take Kevin Garnett's onion ring? I don't know. No. I think we just did this together.
[00:29:00] Unknown:
But you can but don't play it because I feel like a video is so much better than the audio.
[00:29:06] Unknown:
No. I thought the audio is still great. Watch out. Some audio. No. No. No. Watch out. Watch out, dog. How you doing? What's up, dog? You just mashed your shit. Watch out. Watch out, dog. We might have to go to a commercial break. Watch out, dawg. No, dawg. No. You didn't, dawg. This is me. It's panicking. Put my shit right here. This is how you got ordered the iron rings. No, Lord. This is me. Where? There's two of them. They only they only the order. Alright. What did you order, though? I got I got two sandwiches, and I got onion rings and burger. Sandwich, though. No. You got a burger truffle burger. Man, watch out, brother. Hey. We gonna have to go. We're gonna have to go.
[00:29:41] Unknown:
This is
[00:29:42] Unknown:
This is so stressed. Watch out, bro. This is my food. We ain't even eating it. They're
[00:29:49] Unknown:
both standing up now.
[00:30:01] Unknown:
No, man. No. Why? No, man.
[00:30:05] Unknown:
No. Is he like a what is is he like a germaphobe or something too? Not here. I just had the lift in your stress. Hey. Listen,
[00:30:13] Unknown:
man. I He's standing again. He sat back that he's standing again. Get you one, man. He gave him one. He did give him one in the end.
[00:30:22] Unknown:
Damn money.
[00:30:23] Unknown:
I also just feel like, though, Paul Pierce is that friend that just thinks your stuff is his stuff. Paul's just like, y'all eat you know? Drinks. He was just panicking. Like He did absolutely
[00:30:33] Unknown:
freak out. Absolutely panicking. Like, I think he felt like his he was gonna spiral out of control that he was like, we gotta go to commercial break. Yeah. He wasn't sure what he might do. What he was gonna do. He wasn't sure what he might do if someone put his hands on it. I don't know what I could relate to that feeling right now, but I know I could just I can feel exactly what his feel was feeling.
[00:30:57] Unknown:
Just incredible content from them at all times. It's the most unprofessional best podcast I've ever seen. Yeah. That's so funny. Yeah. And then, I mean, yeah, that might that might be no more. That'd be sad. That would be really sad. But, yeah, you gotta do what you gotta do. Do you, KG? I'm not gonna stop you.
[00:31:22] Unknown:
So let's see. When does it become playoffs? April?
[00:31:30] Unknown:
Probably closer to May. Oh. Because the finals are in June.
[00:31:38] Unknown:
That's too bad. I think April.
[00:31:40] Unknown:
I'm gonna check.
[00:31:44] Unknown:
That's pretty soon. We're supposed to go to the game Friday night, but we're not going anymore because we it's been a crazy it's been a crazy few weeks.
[00:31:58] Unknown:
Yeah. Had to sell the tickets.
[00:32:01] Unknown:
I've been sick for about a month and a half. Yeah. You've been playing hard on all of these. Yeah. And I really apologize because I'm not bringing the a game because I've just been under the weather.
[00:32:14] Unknown:
What, great game do you think you are bringing? Thinking you're bringing a b game, a c game? What do you think you're bringing?
[00:32:21] Unknown:
B minus.
[00:32:22] Unknown:
B minus? B minus. Not gonna dip into the c? Not
[00:32:27] Unknown:
quite, but I'm close enough, you know. So but we're not worried about the Cavs.
[00:32:36] Unknown:
The Cavs are the only team in the East that could beat us, but not worried about the Cavs. Does that make sense?
[00:32:43] Unknown:
Yeah. And why are we not worried about them? Tell tell everybody. I'm not worried about them because I feel that they don't have enough weaponry.
[00:32:59] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, I think they have too much weaponry. I think that they're a cute regular season team. Did you say cute? Cute regular season team. Okay. They have a lot of guys who can play, but they don't have enough firepower. Like, they don't have enough top end talent.
[00:33:19] Unknown:
When you get to the playoffs Okay. So you think they're more 10 guys. Okay. So you're just thinking in terms of the top five, it's not
[00:33:30] Unknown:
Probably the top seven or eight. Like, you're really not playing. Like, their big thing is, like, oh, they their starters, I think, play the least number of minutes in the NBA. Mhmm. I don't know. Whereas the Knicks starters play the most. And in the playoffs, you wanna have the best guys out there as much as possible. So you're really not gonna play the bench players as much, or if you are, that just means that your starters are playing less. And so for me, we have who the probably gonna be the sixth man of the year. We have the best starting five, I think, for sure.
[00:34:08] Unknown:
So do you think that the the Cavs will just change the way that they've been playing then and not play as many people? Oh, they won't. But
[00:34:19] Unknown:
these guys who you know, during the regular season, think about how many games the Celtics have had the starting five has not played that many games together. The guys have been hurt. Guys are out for various reasons. Maybe they're sitting for rest on certain nights in the playoffs. All that stuff's gonna go away. Guys are gonna play every night. The Cavs are gonna keep doing what they're they've been doing. They're not gonna change up what's been working. But now those guys have to go against our top players all the time. Whereas in other games, maybe you're seeing it's like, oh, Giroux's out tonight. He's not playing. Oh, KP's sitting on a back to back. And it's not just us. Like, anyone they're playing is running similar types of rotations and things. So to me, there's just not enough top talent. I mean, Mitchell is obviously unbelievable, but Garland is fine, and Mobley is fine. But we have guys who can contain Mobley and Garland pretty easily. So they just don't match up super well against us. I mean, they are pretty big because they have, Jared Allen too.
But, I mean, he had 17 rebounds in that game that we played last time. We still beat them. So just good luck beating us in the playoffs. That's all I'm gonna say. Oh, that's all you gotta say. And they do start in April. Play in tournament April 15 to the eighteenth. Oh, wow. That's exciting. The real playoffs start April 19, and then, June 5, NBA finals game '1. Mhmm. We'll see you there.
[00:35:55] Unknown:
See you there. What what will we have access to?
[00:36:03] Unknown:
I think last year, we got the ability to buy first and second round.
[00:36:07] Unknown:
Okay. Alright. I am gonna do a deep dive, but it's not gonna be that deep. We're gonna talk about Porzingis today. We'll play our spotlight? Yeah. Let's just do it. You know? Let's keep it cool. Well, what I have to say about him is his name is Kristap Kristap Porzingis.
[00:36:27] Unknown:
And we're done. That was the dive by your spotlight next week. He's 29.
[00:36:34] Unknown:
Which and he was born in 1995. So, like, I am so old. He's a whole five years younger than us.
[00:36:45] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, no reason to date yourself like that, but k. I just I just don't even recognize myself. I don't I don't That's not what the spotlight is about. Okay. It's not about me. This is not this is not the Chelle spotlight. About me. Okay.
[00:37:00] Unknown:
29, born in Latvia, and he is playing basketball. His dad played semi pro or something like that, and that was a bus driver or was. And his mom was, like, coached the national girls national team or something.
[00:37:16] Unknown:
Why are you why are you framing these to me as questions? This is your spot. Like you to confirm, but you're not doing anything with I no. I'm I'm looking it up, but I'm just wondering why you're running the spotlight, and then you're asking me questions.
[00:37:30] Unknown:
I don't appreciate your judgment. Anyway, he's been a great a great addition to the c's. Cookies and Cream with Jalen, they're besties. They live in the same building, but maybe not anymore. No one knows. He has all old cars. So if you spot, like, an older car with tinted windows,
[00:37:49] Unknown:
it's probably KP. And a massive man driving it, it's probably him. Mercedes.
[00:37:54] Unknown:
Yeah. It's probably him driving in the bean. He loves it. He's got a number of siblings. I couldn't tell you how many. And that girlfriend, yes, she's pretty like all the other girlfriends, but not my taste. You're catching a little bit of a bad vibe. I'm catching some sort of vibe, but they've been together a long time, so they must be vibing. And we adore him. We meaning me. And that's all I gotta say. And I think Boston in general really adores him. Yeah. I I wrote to him on Instagram note twice. He hasn't answered me.
[00:38:38] Unknown:
I mean, that's not surprising. I wouldn't take that personal even read it. I'm sure he didn't. He didn't read it. I'm sure he didn't. Just yesterday.
[00:38:45] Unknown:
On June 7, I wrote, I don't wanna say it. No one's making these. I'm not going to. No. You gotta read it. On June 7, all I wrote is, we love you with a clover.
[00:39:02] Unknown:
And that went unanswered, unread.
[00:39:05] Unknown:
Right. That's tough. Right. And then yesterday, he had put up a picture of
[00:39:11] Unknown:
their practice arena and wrote grateful. You said, I love you. I know.
[00:39:16] Unknown:
He wrote grateful, and I wrote, we are grateful. Oh, man. You left me unread. You left me unread.
[00:39:29] Unknown:
That's crazy.
[00:39:30] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, I'm just trying to have a good time. Because I got a hit once. Who was it? Oh, yeah. Chandler Jones. Chandler Jones. Yep. Years ago, we Snapchatted him and said Merry Christmas, and he wrote back. Yeah. That was back in a day like that kind of stuff would happen. Yeah. He was like, I don't remember what he said, but I saved it somewhere. But I think we had sent him a picture because someone got a a jersey or someone got something patriots, and I decided to write to him. I just hang on. He answered, so you never know. Maybe one day.
[00:40:12] Unknown:
Yeah. Porzingis, he started his NBA career in Seville, and he started his professional career when he was 17 years old. Guys overseas, like, start a lot earlier. It's kinda crazy.
[00:40:23] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, also, he's seven thirty. So I'd be starting early if I were him too.
[00:40:30] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, for sure. But there's a lot of dudes who are seven feet tall who stink. Mhmm. Zach Eady being one of them. Can't stand that guy. He's done fine, but I just can't stand him.
[00:40:43] Unknown:
And he started here on the Knicks.
[00:40:46] Unknown:
Drafted by the Knicks. They booed so hard when he got drafted. Not nice. Oh, it was brutal.
[00:40:54] Unknown:
Not nice. And then he went where did he go? DC? No. Yes. Dallas?
[00:41:03] Unknown:
Dallas. Who's who's running the do you want me to do the dive, or, dear, are you doing the dive? I'm confused. You could just be nice. I'm just confused. I'm confused. You could just be nice. How bad are you? Just call me bro. Just help me. Knicks and Mavs, Wizards, and Celtics. I mean, it's just not that piece of work. It's just not that hard. I didn't even think we were doing the spotlight. Now when we're producing for you. You said you said you said you were more advanced warning, I would've known.
[00:41:38] Unknown:
Never. I'm
[00:41:39] Unknown:
I'm done with you. This is when he got drafted. Let's see what people were saying about him back in the day. Hold on. I may have to put I know I don't split through commercials. Pick the fourth pick in the two thousand fifteen
[00:41:52] Unknown:
NBA draft. The New York Knicks select. Kristaps Porzingis from Leopahia, Latvia. He last played for us. Leopah. They're
[00:42:04] Unknown:
so mad.
[00:42:05] Unknown:
He's worked on English for quite some time. Didn't want that to be a two months. It was done. He made it to the NBA. And here, he told Andy Katz this week that he embraces the opportunity to play in New York. That's assuming that there are no subsequent moves. And Chris No. I think they might interview him now on here. This opportunity.
[00:42:25] Unknown:
Is just an amazing New York Knicks. And also and also I'm producing the show. Relax.
[00:42:30] Unknown:
Keep coming at me. Call me bro. Future. These folks in here, why did you wanna be with this team so bad? I mean, it's it's my dream to play in the New York Knicks. As I said in the interviews before the draft, and, it's just an amazing feeling being drafted by the Knicks and, given this opportunity to to play in such a basketball city. And, hopefully, I can be a part of something special.
[00:42:51] Unknown:
Because there are so many unknowns, because so many people haven't seen you play, obviously, there are some hesitations. What do you want people to know about you and your game that they might not know?
[00:43:02] Unknown:
For those people who don't know me, they may think that I'm, you know, soft European who who who likes basketball. You know, they've been bosses before, so, I'm different. You know? I I just really love the game. The I have I'm very hungry. I I'm looking forward to playing the best league, in the world against the best players in the world, and, I just it's it's my passion about the game that that sets me apart. Congratulations.
[00:43:23] Unknown:
He already has On his Instagram, he really only has has pictures of him on the Knicks and the Celtics in, like, one second on the Mavs.
[00:43:34] Unknown:
How long is he with those teams?
[00:43:40] Unknown:
Don't know.
[00:43:46] Unknown:
He was with the Mavs twenty nineteen to 2022, and then he is with the Wizards twenty twenty two, twenty twenty three. I mean, if I played for the Wizards, I would try to pretend I never did too.
[00:43:58] Unknown:
Well, you know who does now, and he put a video saying he's so excited to play with them and to work hard for them just as he always has.
[00:44:11] Unknown:
Who's this?
[00:44:12] Unknown:
Mark is smart.
[00:44:14] Unknown:
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, RIP, man. That's so tough.
[00:44:21] Unknown:
I know. But he yeah. He's maybe a very good actor, but he looked pretty happy in the videos.
[00:44:30] Unknown:
I think he's just kind of a happy go lucky guy. Like, he's
[00:44:34] Unknown:
But he's admitted to even to be down in the dumps. I'm sure it was like, you know, maybe it wasn't the best situation on on Memphis, and plus a little tainted because he really hadn't been able to play.
[00:44:48] Unknown:
Yeah. It got hurt so much that
[00:44:50] Unknown:
either way, I think it just did not go well there. Yeah. It was like, it's not working out. You know? It was not the right situation for him. Yeah. So maybe this maybe he's just feeling like this is a fresh start even though it's in Washington.
[00:45:04] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, he'll certainly have a bigger role on that team, which would be nice for him.
[00:45:09] Unknown:
Yeah. And I mean, he's getting he's getting to be a a vet.
[00:45:15] Unknown:
Yeah. For sure. A vet. Yeah. For sure. He's been bullied for a while now. You know?
[00:45:21] Unknown:
I just feel bad that we couldn't win win with him.
[00:45:24] Unknown:
I know. That I don't wanna talk about. She's gonna bum me out. And it's quite sad. Making me upset
[00:45:34] Unknown:
on a Sunday. I wonder what's so we love Tory Craig. Oh, yeah. Tory Craig. Shout out, Tory Craig. That's who's hustler. That's the next spotlight coming next week. Okay. Tory Craig. I'll save I'll save the good info. Well, I'll do that one just so we we have something to talk about. You can do it all. You you can do it all. I don't even wanna do any of them anymore.
[00:45:54] Unknown:
I knew that would get you so mad.
[00:45:57] Unknown:
You know what you said before we came to do this pod, we're just gonna have a nice little chat. Yes. We're just gonna have a chat. Just a chat. Yeah. Exactly. Then you brought the player spotlight.
[00:46:06] Unknown:
Don't blame me. Don't lash out.
[00:46:08] Unknown:
Oh, you. Don't lash out. Don't lash out. You're lashing out. Oh, you. I've had enough.
[00:46:16] Unknown:
Oh, man.
[00:46:18] Unknown:
But anyway, I was gonna say about something, but I'm not gonna say it anymore because you're gonna do that next week. I could tease it. No. No. No. No. I'm not going to. Alright. But stay tuned. But, yeah, great player. I I wish we had more minutes for him if we don't.
[00:46:35] Unknown:
Yeah. He's got some minutes so far. I mean, more minutes than I would have thought. I figured Joe would have made him really earn it.
[00:46:41] Unknown:
Do you have any today?
[00:46:44] Unknown:
That's a good question. I didn't see him out there. I didn't see him. But I wasn't watching. I was painting the bathroom upstairs. Yeah. I was gonna say, how would you have seen him? Let me see. I don't think so, though, unless it was, like, at the end. But I was chasing talent around for a little bit, so you certainly could've missed it. No. No minutes. Guys off the bench who played Hauser, Horford, Cornett, Pritchard, kinda your standard guys. Yeah. Hauser hit a couple threes too. It was nice.
[00:47:18] Unknown:
Nami is never gonna play again.
[00:47:21] Unknown:
Not unless someone gets hurt.
[00:47:24] Unknown:
An ex? He was he wasn't even dressed, I don't think. Yeah. He was out tonight, but also
[00:47:30] Unknown:
no. Mhmm. He's done done. I think he just, like he's probably cooked. Oh, actually, Kada was out too, though, for, non COVID illness.
[00:47:43] Unknown:
Oh, I see.
[00:47:44] Unknown:
Yeah. Shireman, Craig, and Walsh were DNP, coach's decision.
[00:47:54] Unknown:
What about Pete? Is he down in Maine? Yeah. He must be.
[00:48:00] Unknown:
Maybe he got bumped out because of Craig, but I thought we had an extra roster spot, so I don't really know. Yeah. We do.
[00:48:07] Unknown:
But maybe he's just playing down down there.
[00:48:11] Unknown:
Yeah. Just get him some minutes. They know he's not gonna play up. Yeah. That's weird because Shireman is up, and Shireman really should be down there too because he doesn't play either. Yeah. Interesting.
[00:48:22] Unknown:
Shireman's quite a religious soul.
[00:48:25] Unknown:
Is he? Yeah. What sort of affiliation?
[00:48:31] Unknown:
Something Christian, I believe. How did you come about knowing this? He puts a lot of stuff on his stories about God. He also has a girlfriend. Cute. Very blonde. Very smiley.
[00:48:53] Unknown:
Incredible. Sharman is a non denominational Christian.
[00:48:59] Unknown:
There we go, Chels.
[00:49:02] Unknown:
Well, there we go, Sean. I I actually found it. You just said he was religious. Yeah. I said some kind of Christian.
[00:49:14] Unknown:
I wasn't wrong.
[00:49:17] Unknown:
Yeah. I didn't I don't even really know. It says nondenominational Christianity consists of churches and individual Christians, which typically distance themselves from the confessionalism or credalism of other Christian communities by not formally aligning with a specific Christian denomination. Interesting.
[00:49:35] Unknown:
Interesting. Did Hauser have any points on the board tonight?
[00:49:45] Unknown:
Yes. I did. Two threes. Oh, I missed it. Yeah. Couple threes was nice to see because now I just think every the one he takes is gonna be a mess, but he was two of four. Had a rebound.
[00:49:58] Unknown:
Did you see all that Perch had to say about Jaylen's shoes?
[00:50:05] Unknown:
No idea. I'm so sorry. Are you okay? Have a sip of water. Have a have a drink.
[00:50:11] Unknown:
He just said that he didn't even ask any questions. He just knew that they were gonna be good, and he loves how they feel.
[00:50:20] Unknown:
Love that. Mhmm. Speaking of which, Jaylen unveiled the white noise seven forty one rover. Thoughts?
[00:50:28] Unknown:
I mean, they're cool. But, I mean, they're cool.
[00:50:34] Unknown:
They're definitely cool. They're very funky. They're even more somehow, it's more futuristic than the other ones. Yeah. Like the way that it looks.
[00:50:43] Unknown:
He had Bill Nye on his panel on his discussion.
[00:50:47] Unknown:
He's been busy, Jalen. Because he did, like, a whole thing at was that at the Boston Museum of Science where I think he did the unveiling, and that's where he had Bill Nye? Yeah. Yeah. Pretty cool. Uh-huh. And Bill Nye came out with the Rovers on, not the white ones, but he came out with the Rovers. Yeah. It's great. Bill Nye and the Rovers and the white Rovers with the lab coat would have been pretty elite. But Yeah. He had a seven forty one lab coat.
[00:51:10] Unknown:
That was so cute. And then they had the premier for the Celtics city.
[00:51:17] Unknown:
So they've been so busy. Yeah. So they rolled out the green carpet.
[00:51:24] Unknown:
I just got so distracted because Jah was hugging Jared Allen very tightly, and I just feel like that wasn't Jared Allen's steez.
[00:51:32] Unknown:
No. It was kinda funny because he had Jared Allen. It was like an and one, And Jared Allen, like, kinda thought at first that he was, like, coming at him, and then he just kinda hugged him instead.
[00:51:42] Unknown:
Oh, gosh. That was goofy.
[00:51:50] Unknown:
Looks like a long lost treasure there, Jared. I was like, okay. Okay, my man. Let go. Oh my god.
[00:51:57] Unknown:
That's funny.
[00:52:02] Unknown:
Do you have a prediction on the OKC Thunder game? I think, the Thunder just beat them last time. OKC Thunder game? I mean, the OKC and the Timberwolves. Again, I only had one coffee today, so the brain is not working as it normally was. I think the Thunder beat them. I think the Timberwolves won last game.
[00:52:23] Unknown:
I think the Wolves.
[00:52:29] Unknown:
You think the T Wolves are gonna take them down tonight? Yeah. Love that.
[00:52:37] Unknown:
Well, are they number two?
[00:52:40] Unknown:
Timberwolves? No. Memphis is number two.
[00:52:44] Unknown:
Oh, really? Yeah. It's crazy because last year, weren't they so not good? But Jah was out for so many games. Mhmm.
[00:52:52] Unknown:
February 13, the Timberwolves beat Oklahoma City One Sixteen One Zero One. I was reading 27 points. Them, Yeah. Sometimes they do that where you kinda play each other closely. Because we just played Cleveland not too long ago. We played next week. Yeah. It's not like a true back to back, but make it close. Actually, they play them back to back tonight and tomorrow. That's wild. Yeah. Little home and home. Crazy. They Timberwolves are at home tonight, and then it's at OKC tomorrow.
[00:53:29] Unknown:
That's wild.
[00:53:33] Unknown:
They're really trying to make that a matchup, I guess.
[00:53:38] Unknown:
Pretty cool, but I'm tired thinking of it.
[00:53:42] Unknown:
I know. Having to play the same team back to back in different cities seems exhausting. Yeah. Back to backs in general are hard enough, but
[00:53:54] Unknown:
And when do the Lakers play, the Mavs again?
[00:53:59] Unknown:
They play Tuesday.
[00:54:01] Unknown:
Oh, yeah. Okay.
[00:54:02] Unknown:
10:00. Gonna be a late night. Be watching. I'm gonna watch some of the I think it's at LA, which to me is less interesting. The more interesting is when Luca goes back to to Dallas. Mhmm. I feel like that's the one. Yeah. Let me double check that.
[00:54:26] Unknown:
Still be a little dramatic. But yeah.
[00:54:30] Unknown:
Yeah. For sure dramatic. But, yeah, it's it's at home for LA. They play at Dallas April Ninth.
[00:54:48] Unknown:
Right before the playoffs.
[00:54:51] Unknown:
Right before the playoffs. Do you think they're gonna give Luke a tribute video or no?
[00:54:57] Unknown:
I think so.
[00:54:58] Unknown:
What do you think he does? You think he accepts it graciously, or you think he's like I think so. He's not mad at the fans.
[00:55:05] Unknown:
He's gonna show up. He's gonna do the whole thing, raise his arm up, and wave.
[00:55:13] Unknown:
Do the wave to the crowd? Yeah. Yeah.
[00:55:18] Unknown:
I I think that they should do that. Don't you think?
[00:55:22] Unknown:
Yeah. No. I think they will. I mean, it's just it seems like there's been a smear campaign led by them, so it's just interesting to me what they're gonna do. K. I think there was a video recently, like, some promo video where they, like, put the logo on his face.
[00:55:38] Unknown:
Like, it's loving the pettiness. No. I don't know. They tried to block him out, but they couldn't, so they had to, like,
[00:55:46] Unknown:
go over him. Yeah. Yeah. It was, like, a logo or something, though. It's just, like, crazy behavior.
[00:55:51] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:55:52] Unknown:
I apologize for my cough. Yeah. You've abandoned even trying to cough. You're just coughing into the mic now. Yeah.
[00:55:59] Unknown:
It's getting out of hand. Comes alive in the nighttime, you know? Who do you think is gonna take this game?
[00:56:11] Unknown:
I mean, Cleveland. There's a minute left. They're up eight. I had to guess. I would say you never know, but I would I would take Cleveland just if I had to if I have to do this.
[00:56:23] Unknown:
Okay. Okay.
[00:56:24] Unknown:
You never know. Are you I mean, are you saying you're taking Memphis? No. Really coming at me tonight.
[00:56:32] Unknown:
I would say you're coming at me, and I think anyone listening would agree. I completely disagree.
[00:56:38] Unknown:
Whatever. But people send us a note. People are listening to this thing. Send us a note. Feedback, good, bad. You love it. You hate it. Best podcast you've ever listened to. It sucks. Send us some notes. Be a producer yourself.
[00:56:54] Unknown:
One of my notes is Chelsea needs to bring more energy and stop getting sick.
[00:56:58] Unknown:
Well, I can't wait until I'm wrong right now. Now it's a four point game, about to be a three point game. About to take a huge l here. That would be super funny. That would be tragic.
[00:57:14] Unknown:
They're saying he's gonna maybe win defensive player of the year because Wambi is out.
[00:57:25] Unknown:
Jaren Jackson? Mhmm. Yeah. He's pretty good. Poor Wambi too. I know. That's absolutely brutal.
[00:57:32] Unknown:
It is. Feel very bad for him.
[00:57:36] Unknown:
As a medical professional, do you have any thoughts on that? Is that just something that can happen randomly? Is it because he's flying and he's seven feet tall? Because he's overhead all the time, and
[00:57:46] Unknown:
he's almost, like, overhead all the time restricting those vessels in a way. And I think, yes, because he's so tall, it takes his blood so his blood is so far to travel. He's leaving himself open to that more than someone else would? I don't know. I just think he's maybe at more risk because he's so tall for getting blood clots, and his heart has to do so much work to to get the blood everywhere it needs to go. But then he has to so they have to figure out why he got the the blood clot if he has anything that they have to treat, but he also because he got it has to be on a blood thinner, so he can't
[00:58:26] Unknown:
be doing any physical sports. You know? I was just saying, is that why he's not playing? Because Yeah. He has to be on the blood thinners and then you can't do that. Now why can't you do that? Because if you got hurt and something happened, it could negatively impact it. Yeah. Mhmm. Okay.
[00:58:40] Unknown:
Internally bleed. Like, if he fell and hit his head, he'd have a hemorrhage in his brain.
[00:58:49] Unknown:
Crazy.
[00:58:50] Unknown:
Yeah. Now A lot of times, they just have you on it for x amount of time, but depending what led to the clot, it could be something where he needs to be on something, like, forever, but it might be, like, a lower dose and something not so dramatic.
[00:59:07] Unknown:
Yeah. I was gonna say, is it I mean, any chance of it being career threatening? Or does that seem unlikely?
[00:59:16] Unknown:
Oh, it's not unlikely. It could. If it if for some reason, if they didn't if it didn't if it happened again, it it could be because there's just such a high risk for it being in your lung, which would be horrible, or going to your brain, which would be horrible. So
[00:59:37] Unknown:
So the area that it happened, in a way, he dodged a bullet. Mhmm. Like, that's not a bad spot for it to happen. Obviously, you don't want to have it, a blood clot, but
[00:59:48] Unknown:
Mhmm. There's levels to the blood clot. Yeah. For sure. Because it could go up into your brain, and you could have a a stroke, and life could be very different.
[01:00:00] Unknown:
Crazy.
[01:00:01] Unknown:
Most of the time, people get them in their lower leg, a blood clot.
[01:00:06] Unknown:
Why is that?
[01:00:07] Unknown:
I think it's just because, like, a lot of times people get them in their legs, like, if they're sedentary, more sedentary, and their blood's not moving. It's just kinda pulling into their legs a little bit, and then it's not passing through, and they just develop a clot. So, like, it'll be swollen and, you know, if it's really bad, like, people could lose, like, feel numb into their foot and stuff like that. But a lot of times, people find out those blood clots pretty quickly because it's so obvious because they get a lot of swelling and pain and everything. I think it's a little bit harder to spot the arms.
[01:00:45] Unknown:
Is it typically older people that get them, or does it not really? A lot of times people,
[01:00:50] Unknown:
they could maybe be predisposed. Maybe they have some sort of a disorder they didn't really know about, high cholesterol. I don't know. Whatever it is. Tobacco use. And, like, if they go on a flight, they could land and have one. Because because they're not moving and stuff.
[01:01:10] Unknown:
Interesting. Yeah. Oh, thank you. Appreciate that. That's good to know. Follow us on Chelsea's Talk on Instagram. Send us any notes to if you have our personal cell numbers, that's fine. If not if not, [email protected] or send us a message on the Chelsea's Talk Instagram. And if you're listening, tell someone you know. The every way I found out about a podcast is someone I know told me, hey. You should listen to this. And then I did, and I either liked it or I hated it. So just pass it along to somebody.
[01:01:47] Unknown:
Yep. And go Celtics.
[01:01:50] Unknown:
