Anyway,   initially, I was like,   this is not real.   I thought it was, like, a mock trade situation, and I was like, no. This is real.   And then I was like, oh, I'm into this   for Dallas.   And I know that sounds crazy, but if you   have been listening,   you know that I think Luca suffers from   the   syndrome   where he   is just   luckily   very, very good,   very, very smart.   You know, like, a student who doesn't have to try hard until finals.   And that's what I was saying about him. So I'm just like, I don't know if I'm a big Luca Fane. He's not my kind of guy. So I was like, good for Dallas. They're making moves. They're moving on. But then on the other hand, he's 25 years old and an incredibly   good   basketball player. Now what has happened next?  

Eighty   is hurt.   He came out swinging in that game   and got hurt.

Supposedly, he was hurt a little bit beforehand,   and the Mavs knew about it, kind of rushed him back.

And now he's out for some weeks, maybe indefinitely. Yeah. So overall, this does lead me to believe, even if I'm not that much of a Luca fan,   that the Mavs don't have the organization does not have a good grip   on   the   the players and what they want and need.   Because if they had people who really knew what they were doing with Luca, they could've whatever their issues were with him, could've got sorted out.

Anthony Davis, very good, been injury prone his whole career, and now right away, Mavs are dealing with that issue.

No. It's not that at all. I feel like I can stand him. I just feel like I'm privy to his game.

Yeah. I mean, I'm a fan of Anthony Davis. He's an absolute beast. But to me in the NBA,

if you get the best player, you won the trade, and Luka undeniably is the better player. Yeah. And I remember I don't know if it was last year or the year before. I don't really know. I don't know when it was.   But I was like, you you were you are an AD fan.   And I was like,   but   I've never once seen him play because he was hurt all the time. Very injury prone. And so I feel like this year or so, I don't know, I've really gotten to see him. And I'm like, yeah. He's incredible. But before that, I was like, don't know   him. Even though I didn't know him, but I'm like, he's always hurt.

Yeah. Been injury prone for a while.   Luca obviously has been out. You know, they said he was viciously overweight. They said that they made up,   an injury for him to try to get back in shape.   Still didn't come back in shape, but it just feels like   they were over him. And based on his reaction, obviously, you're never gonna be happy when someone trades you and kinda   basically says they don't like you, but it seems like he was kinda heartbroken by the whole thing. It seems like he loved being in Dallas.   He really didn't wanna leave at all. And in today's day and age, if you're a star, generally, the only way you end up getting traded is if you want out, not if Right. If you wanna stay there, you generally don't get traded. So very surprising. And, also,   to go back down the conspiracy hole a little bit, supposedly, no other teams are involved. They never shopped him at all. Yeah. But then I read that they did, though.  

I think maybe one other team they said they talked to, but that could, yeah, that could also be made up too just to make them look a little bit better.   But, yeah, I mean,   Anthony Davis, this is   last year played 42 games.   Year before,   '76, '50 '6, '40, '30 '6, '60 '2. So he's missed a lot of games. Not gonna go Joel Embiid level, but   he's been out a while. Mhmm. He's been out a lot.   And, I mean, like I said, end of the day, you have the better player. You won the trade. Luke is the better player. So but permits to be seen. I mean, it'd be interesting to see the rest of the way if LeBron and Luka can play together. It's been a big debate. They both are ball dominant guards,   but I think they're gonna be just fine. I think the Lakers are gonna be better for it.

You last couple years, I would say, two, three years have gotten very into it. More than that.   How many years you've been into it? I mean, five or six years. Five or six years?   Yeah. Fire.   Okay. Whatever. Last few years, you've been into it, and we four years.   We oh, okay.   Just halt the halt the show. Bring it to a screaming halt.   And,   we watch the games, and we kinda just go back and forth. We do this. We have some opinions we share. We have some opinions we really disagree on. But always, you have some funny takes. You have some good insight, and it's   not so much around the x's and o's of basketball. You've said previously you're more of a feel girl. You go off   how you feel, and I think you bring a unique perspective and kind of look at the game. So I was like, yeah. The people need to hear it. This is interesting.  

And so I was really the driving force behind it, I would say, and I had to drag you to get on the first time. Because, you know,

I appreciate everything you just said,   but I I just am the kind I like   I like just the banter and   our bed washing the game.   You know? I wasn't sure that the people needed to know.   You know? I wasn't sure about that.

Yeah. I mean,   I just but it's fun. It's fun to to chat about, and   we love them. And I just feel like   I   love them, and then I enjoy   watching them and knowing everything about them. And soon enough, we're gonna   find that reservation to Contessa, and we're gonna see them, and we're gonna become friends.

And I would say too, we both have things that we love that we're very passionate about, but this is where   our love and passion kind of really intersects   where we both really love the Celtics, and so it's easy for us to talk about it. I mean, you don't need to talk about lacrosse and,   you know, running a bunch all the time. So it's just we we found our lane. That's totally true. I mean,

we have both, you know, certain things that we do separately and that we enjoy separately,   But it's nice.   I mean, but we, you know, you can still you can talk to me about lacrosse and running anytime. I enjoy watching the games. I think there's just, like,   a lot happening all the time. There's no waiting around,   and I feel like I just, like, really like getting to know the guys.   And   since becoming such a Celtics fan, I also am just, like, a basketball NBA fan, and I like getting to know the other guys too,   good and bad. And   it's really what I want the girls to know,   it's really like a reality show,   which I think I've said before, but   it really is. I mean, if there's not a game on, there's something happening on on the phone, on the socials.   You know?

Guys have their own stuff they that they do on the court. Some guys are all about basketball. That's, like, their number one thing. Some guys have a lot of other stuff. before, like, out of any other,   you know,   professional,   sport,   you can, like you see them the most. Like, you can get the closest to them on the court from any sport.   You know, they play soft often. There's no helmet. There's no   padding.   You know? So if you really feel like you can, like,

get to know them better. Yeah. And as you've said, you know, in a lot of sports, you're allowed to kind of hit them, like hockey,   lacrosse,   football. Basketball, technically, you're allowed to do some physical stuff, but you can really get under people's skin in basketball. It's a lot of a mental game.   It's not just so much about, like, what they're doing out there, but there's   other components to it that make it very interesting.   And I would say   most basketball players are way more recognizable than any of the other major sports, though they're the biggest stars.   They dominate commercials. They dominate   just kind of the social media game, whether it's just that the NBA has done it or that the personalities are that much more interesting.  

There's just a lot of guys who you really   can get invested in, and, you know, we'll watch games that aren't even the Celtics games because it is just exciting to see who their competition is, and you will have certain guys that you like that aren't on the Celtics or guys that you like to hate watch, who you're like, you know, I wanna see them do bad or lose or

it's interesting. It's like a,   what do you call it? Like, a comfort show when people, like, throw friends on,   you know, or throw throw Schitt's Creek on. Like, for me, it's like throw an NBA game on just in the background if I'm doing stuff too.   I just   wanna kinda know. And, you know, honestly, I don't know if you guys know this, but   half the time, I don't barely watch the game because I get too stressed. No. Chelsea's playing mind screener on her phone. Don't tell all the secrets.

What's on the gram?   Which I think that is partially why basketball is so interesting because   these guys do lead cool   lives outside of basketball.   And   one who's just been   everywhere lately   is our guy, Jaylen Brown. He's been everywhere. He has been   everywhere. I'm so happy for him. Yeah. He was just on The Tonight Show.   Cheezing.   Mhmm. Cheezing   when he was in the back,   meeting Jimmy,   hanging out with Saquon Barkley,

And he was dating her, and he was like,   yeah. I'm doing this. And then now it's been ice cold, so I don't think they're dating anymore. But, Yeah. Wasn't she on the the duck boat? Yeah. She's on the duck boat. They hard launched that. Oh, for sure. And then yeah. They mean they went to it's the SP issue with him. I'm not sure. But in any case, there's just many layers, many layers to JB, along with all the other guys. You know? Yeah. I feel like he's a special case, though. Yes. Speaking of moving parts,   another smaller Lakers trade, but they traded Dalton Connect,   for Mark Williams, and that was a failed physical. And   I think this just kinda shows, like,   you know, everyone's like, oh, it's a business. It's a business. And absolutely, it is, of course. But at the end of the day, there's a human element to it too, and sometimes it's kinda lost. And I feel like especially the players always get the bad end of that where it's like,   oh, you play professional basketball. How hard can it be?
