Well, I think where we should start is the obvious. Do you know what that is? No. I don't. The obvious is not so obvious. Not to me. The biggest news in the last week and a half. The Luca trade? No. We should just start there. We'll just start there. Alright. We have to cover it. We have to cover the news.
[00:00:27] Unknown:
Okay. Thoughts?
[00:00:30] Unknown:
Yeah. I have thoughts. Well, so much has happened to my head. Also, I apologize. I've been a little ill. So
[00:00:38] Unknown:
I'll cuddle all this out. We may have to start over.
[00:00:42] Unknown:
Crazy.
[00:00:43] Unknown:
From the top.
[00:00:45] Unknown:
Anyway, initially, I was like, this is not real. I thought it was, like, a mock trade situation, and I was like, no. This is real. And then I was like, oh, I'm into this for Dallas. And I know that sounds crazy, but if you have been listening, you know that I think Luca suffers from the syndrome where he is just luckily very, very good, very, very smart. You know, like, a student who doesn't have to try hard until finals. And that's what I was saying about him. So I'm just like, I don't know if I'm a big Luca Fane. He's not my kind of guy. So I was like, good for Dallas. They're making moves. They're moving on. But then on the other hand, he's 25 years old and an incredibly good basketball player. Now what has happened next?
Eighty is hurt. He came out swinging in that game and got hurt.
[00:01:53] Unknown:
Supposedly, he was hurt a little bit beforehand, and the Mavs knew about it, kind of rushed him back.
[00:01:59] Unknown:
And now he's out for some weeks, maybe indefinitely. Yeah. So overall, this does lead me to believe, even if I'm not that much of a Luca fan, that the Mavs don't have the organization does not have a good grip on the the players and what they want and need. Because if they had people who really knew what they were doing with Luca, they could've whatever their issues were with him, could've got sorted out.
[00:02:29] Unknown:
Yeah. This is old news now too, but there's the conspiracy theories that they wanna move the team to Las Vegas or they wanna make it, casino,
[00:02:38] Unknown:
the arena. The people at the top have a little bit has the priorities.
[00:02:43] Unknown:
They have some ulterior motives potentially.
[00:02:46] Unknown:
Mhmm.
[00:02:47] Unknown:
But, I mean, who knows? I think your take, no offense, trash. That's fine. Take Luca over AD every single day of the week. Don't care if he's a little bit lazy. Don't care if he's not in the best shape. He is a easily top five basketball player in the NBA. He's a generational talent. Anthony Davis, very good, been injury prone his whole career, and now right away, Mavs are dealing with that issue.
[00:03:12] Unknown:
I don't disagree with you on that take either, though. I mean, totally. I was just saying at first, I was like, I'm into this just from the rebuild standpoint, not the eighties so much better than Luca. What a good trade. It was like, maybe they'll rebuild, start somewhere new, but their track history is also awful. I mean, who do they have? KP?
[00:03:41] Unknown:
Had KP, had Brunson. Jim Brunson. But they do they do get good guys. I mean, they have Kyrie. They got Klay Thompson who's been playing well. Their bigs are good.
[00:03:51] Unknown:
It just They might be getting Katie.
[00:03:55] Unknown:
Can't get out of their own way. The Rockets are the leading favorite according to betting odds to get him if he's not with the Suns next year. Well, I guess we'll have to find out. So I told you I went down a huge Jeff Teague rabbit hole while you're upstairs with Talon, and there was We're moving on, I guess. No. We're really not, actually. Okay. So tell me. That's why I'm try I'm just trying to Okay. Well, I just thought Just trying to produce a podcast. Alright. Go ahead. Mhmm. And, him and Evan Turner were talking. And Evan Turner, while coaching the Celtics,
[00:04:30] Unknown:
had some thoughts on Luka. I thought this was kind of a very funny Am I gonna love it? Being a back of bench, we always have these crazy debates. I was the first person to really tell them how cold Luca was. That's a fact. I get you that. It's a fire at story by the way. Man, this man kinda, like, lazy. He's just not doing enough for me. He whining. I'm like, bro, look at him. He the man. Look at him. He not worried about no regular season game. I said, bro, are you sure he good? I said, bro, he gonna turn it on. Actually, he'll we're up. Yeah. I seen people. He's in Dallas. He's like, bro, JB and JT getting rid of this mess. I said, bro, I'm telling you, in clutch, if they get close, we not gonna win. He said Mind you, he's a coach. Coach of the Celtics saying yes. Closer, they call a time out. I think they down, like, two. Yeah. So, like, Jeff, like, get up, like, bro. Ain't no way. I'm like, bro, I'm telling you. Did I call out with Coach Yeah. About to do that. That step back, and he'll go hit the game winner. And literally, bro. And then, like, while we watching it, he learned about Luka Doncic. He hit the shot, looked at him. He's, I told you.
[00:05:25] Unknown:
We're we work for the Celtics. I told you. I'm like, damn, I'm a fucking call. I was like, JT, that's some bullshit. But, mate, it's so funny, JT. That's a shout out I got. That's why I love ET. We go there. He was like, Luca better than me. ET was like, damn near. Hell no. Hell no. I'm going with JC. He was like, bro, he's my favorite player. That's a yo. ET crazy, bro. How incredible is that story, though? Very funny. And I thought I was Luke Cornett's
[00:05:57] Unknown:
spirit animal, but I'm Jeff Teague.
[00:06:01] Unknown:
I didn't know. No. No. No. I'm Evan Turner. But Evan Turner loves Luca. He said Oh, yeah. That he doesn't care about the regular season, but he says his favorite player while coaching the Celtics. That's funny.
[00:06:11] Unknown:
I mean, I think that he is a polarizing player in whatever way. And I honestly, it's like I can see both sides of the whole thing of it all. I'm not a hater. I also do hate on him. You know, I'm not a hater of him, but I hate on him sometimes. You put your hater shades on for a minute. Like I'm like, oh my god. I can't stand him. No. It's not that at all. I feel like I can stand him. I just feel like I'm privy to his game.
[00:06:45] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, I'm a fan of Anthony Davis. He's an absolute beast. But to me in the NBA,
[00:06:51] Unknown:
if you get the best player, you won the trade, and Luka undeniably is the better player. Yeah. And I remember I don't know if it was last year or the year before. I don't really know. I don't know when it was. But I was like, you you were you are an AD fan. And I was like, but I've never once seen him play because he was hurt all the time. Very injury prone. And so I feel like this year or so, I don't know, I've really gotten to see him. And I'm like, yeah. He's incredible. But before that, I was like, don't know him. Even though I didn't know him, but I'm like, he's always hurt.
[00:07:25] Unknown:
Yeah. Been injury prone for a while. Luca obviously has been out. You know, they said he was viciously overweight. They said that they made up, an injury for him to try to get back in shape. Still didn't come back in shape, but it just feels like they were over him. And based on his reaction, obviously, you're never gonna be happy when someone trades you and kinda basically says they don't like you, but it seems like he was kinda heartbroken by the whole thing. It seems like he loved being in Dallas. He really didn't wanna leave at all. And in today's day and age, if you're a star, generally, the only way you end up getting traded is if you want out, not if Right. If you wanna stay there, you generally don't get traded. So very surprising. And, also, to go back down the conspiracy hole a little bit, supposedly, no other teams are involved. They never shopped him at all. Yeah. But then I read that they did, though.
I think maybe one other team they said they talked to, but that could, yeah, that could also be made up too just to make them look a little bit better. But, yeah, I mean, Anthony Davis, this is last year played 42 games. Year before, '76, '50 '6, '40, '30 '6, '60 '2. So he's missed a lot of games. Not gonna go Joel Embiid level, but he's been out a while. Mhmm. He's been out a lot. And, I mean, like I said, end of the day, you have the better player. You won the trade. Luke is the better player. So but permits to be seen. I mean, it'd be interesting to see the rest of the way if LeBron and Luka can play together. It's been a big debate. They both are ball dominant guards, but I think they're gonna be just fine. I think the Lakers are gonna be better for it.
[00:09:08] Unknown:
Yeah. Here here.
[00:09:11] Unknown:
So we will check it out, see who's right, see who's wrong.
[00:09:18] Unknown:
Or just see what happens. Yeah. No? Yeah.
[00:09:23] Unknown:
Alright. But I wrote I wrote it down in my notebook. We're gonna keep track. Whatever. An extra order of business. Are you driving it? Or No. I'm just ready to move on from Luca. Okay. Well, I feel like next up, first well, first off, before I go anywhere else Yeah. Shout out Kim. Shout out Kim. Shout out Kim. I thought that's where you're going first, but then the way you're then talking about it You're so right. I can't believe I messed that up. That as the producer of the show, that's where I'm starting. Shout out Kim.
[00:09:52] Unknown:
Yeah. She's the best. I mean, she's our number one fan. She's such a she's such a a bestie of mine.
[00:10:03] Unknown:
Yeah. So we got not one, but two notes. Mhmm. First one, I mean, honestly didn't give much, but she did say that she told I'm not gonna read the whole thing. I'm not gonna put her on blast or anything. But she did say, I've sent this podcast to at least two people who don't personally know you guys. Shout out, Kim. Listen. Everybody out there, if you are listening, be like Kim. Be a Kim in the world. Kim in the world. You guys won't even understand.
[00:10:28] Unknown:
There's not many of Kim in the world. No. There's only one. Yeah. For sure. But if he could be a little bit more like her,
[00:10:35] Unknown:
that'd be good. But the second one and you've I know you've talked to her about it. You know that she, set up. But the second one, she kinda gave us some notes. Group project problems. Chel crushed it. She absolutely brought the energy, and I was living for it. So That's the first line. Knee. But so she said, here's what I'd like to know. What motivated this podcast? What was the driving force? What spoke to you and said, we need to let the people know what we've got to say? What inspired you both? What are you passionate about? Okay. Wow. Maybe we should have started with this. Well, that's where I'm On the job. That's had I started the show and driven it, that's where I would have started. Are you? Shut up. That's why I have it up right here. No. No. No. I mean, from episode one.
[00:11:18] Unknown:
Oh, with yeah. Episode one was, like, I don't even know what's happening now. I was, like, what the heck are we doing? I still feel that way. But so started this. I would say you started this. Yeah. I was hounding you about this. I was harassing you about this. Harass me about it regularly.
[00:11:36] Unknown:
Yeah. We gotta make sure we're recording. We missed a week, and I'm still upset about it. Mhmm. So I think what motivated it is we're both Celtics fans. You last couple years, I would say, two, three years have gotten very into it. More than that. How many years you've been into it? I mean, five or six years. Five or six years? Yeah. Fire. Okay. Whatever. Last few years, you've been into it, and we four years. We oh, okay. Just halt the halt the show. Bring it to a screaming halt. And, we watch the games, and we kinda just go back and forth. We do this. We have some opinions we share. We have some opinions we really disagree on. But always, you have some funny takes. You have some good insight, and it's not so much around the x's and o's of basketball. You've said previously you're more of a feel girl. You go off how you feel, and I think you bring a unique perspective and kind of look at the game. So I was like, yeah. The people need to hear it. This is interesting.
And so I was really the driving force behind it, I would say, and I had to drag you to get on the first time. Because, you know,
[00:12:50] Unknown:
I appreciate everything you just said, but I I just am the kind I like I like just the banter and our bed washing the game. You know? I wasn't sure that the people needed to know. You know? I wasn't sure about that.
[00:13:08] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, it's not like we're giving them the full look. We're I mean, we're in the studio right now. We're not That's true. In the bed. We're professionals. We're professionals. But,
[00:13:19] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, I just but it's fun. It's fun to to chat about, and we love them. And I just feel like I love them, and then I enjoy watching them and knowing everything about them. And soon enough, we're gonna find that reservation to Contessa, and we're gonna see them, and we're gonna become friends.
[00:13:43] Unknown:
Yes. And I would say too, we both have things that we love that we're very passionate about, but this is where our love and passion kind of really intersects where we both really love the Celtics, and so it's easy for us to talk about it. Yeah. You know, I'm not gonna talk about interior design. Mhmm. That's not really my bad. True passion. Yeah. I mean, you don't need to talk about lacrosse and, you know, running a bunch all the time. So it's just we we found our lane. That's totally true. I mean,
[00:14:14] Unknown:
we have both, you know, certain things that we do separately and that we enjoy separately, But it's nice. I mean, but we, you know, you can still you can talk to me about lacrosse and running anytime. Oh, and we do. And then talk to you about all the things I have planned for the house. Yeah. We do. Because we respect each other, and we care about what the other person is doing. But we're we're both
[00:14:35] Unknown:
passionate, can really bring it. And we look forward to the Celtics games. We talk about every week when they're gonna be on Mhmm. What we're gonna do for it. Are we gonna have a Celtics party? Before we ever started the podcast, we would say, is it a Celtics party tonight? Yeah. We would have Celtics parties all the time. I think, like,
[00:14:50] Unknown:
I enjoy watching the games. I think there's just, like, a lot happening all the time. There's no waiting around, and I feel like I just, like, really like getting to know the guys. And since becoming such a Celtics fan, I also am just, like, a basketball NBA fan, and I like getting to know the other guys too, good and bad. And it's really what I want the girls to know, it's really like a reality show, which I think I've said before, but it really is. I mean, if there's not a game on, there's something happening on on the phone, on the socials. You know?
If you follow one, you follow a bunch of them, and you can weasel your way into the world of NBA basketball just on Instagram.
[00:15:43] Unknown:
Yeah. And, I mean, there's a lot of characters, I'll say, like, in the league. Like, even we just played the Jeff Tee clip. Like, guys are funny. Guys have their own stuff they that they do on the court. Some guys are all about basketball. That's, like, their number one thing. Some guys have a lot of other stuff. And I think, like you said too,
[00:16:01] Unknown:
before, like, out of any other, you know, professional, sport, you can, like you see them the most. Like, you can get the closest to them on the court from any sport. You know, they play soft often. There's no helmet. There's no padding. You know? So if you really feel like you can, like,
[00:16:24] Unknown:
get to know them better. Yeah. And as you've said, you know, in a lot of sports, you're allowed to kind of hit them, like hockey, lacrosse, football. Basketball, technically, you're allowed to do some physical stuff, but you can really get under people's skin in basketball. It's a lot of a mental game. It's not just so much about, like, what they're doing out there, but there's other components to it that make it very interesting. And I would say most basketball players are way more recognizable than any of the other major sports, though they're the biggest stars. They dominate commercials. They dominate just kind of the social media game, whether it's just that the NBA has done it or that the personalities are that much more interesting.
There's just a lot of guys who you really can get invested in, and, you know, we'll watch games that aren't even the Celtics games because it is just exciting to see who their competition is, and you will have certain guys that you like that aren't on the Celtics or guys that you like to hate watch, who you're like, you know, I wanna see them do bad or lose or
[00:17:32] Unknown:
it's interesting. It's like a, what do you call it? Like, a comfort show when people, like, throw friends on, you know, or throw throw Schitt's Creek on. Like, for me, it's like throw an NBA game on just in the background if I'm doing stuff too. I just wanna kinda know. And, you know, honestly, I don't know if you guys know this, but half the time, I don't barely watch the game because I get too stressed. No. Chelsea's playing mind screener on her phone. Don't tell all the secrets.
[00:18:03] Unknown:
I'm looking over. I'm like, yo. You're missing the best part of the game. Stressed.
[00:18:08] Unknown:
I get too stressed, so I barely watch. I play minesweeper. That's the truth. And, guys, it's the best game.
[00:18:17] Unknown:
So too so Kim sent that note that I just read to you, and then she sent five minutes later, she said, also, can we get more content on the athletes' social lives? What's on the gram? Which I think that is partially why basketball is so interesting because these guys do lead cool lives outside of basketball. And one who's just been everywhere lately is our guy, Jaylen Brown. He's been everywhere. He has been everywhere. I'm so happy for him. Yeah. He was just on The Tonight Show. Cheezing. Mhmm. Cheezing when he was in the back, meeting Jimmy, hanging out with Saquon Barkley,
[00:18:59] Unknown:
hanging out with Jalen Hurst. I feel like the I feel like, you know, that, like, you know, he was chosen last for the all star teams or whatever. I feel like stuff like that's gonna continue to happen to him, but it's almost like and they're just, like, building blocks, stepping stones. The world is opening up to him right now, I think.
[00:19:20] Unknown:
Yeah. I think he's Teflon now. He won finals MVP last year. He's got his own shoe brand or his own brand. That stuff, if it happened to him, he's like, yeah. That's just the part of the part of me. He's almost operating outside of basketball as much as he's operating inside of basketball at this point. I feel like he's, like
[00:19:39] Unknown:
I mean, obviously, you know, it's a bit different, but I feel like he's like you. Like like, constantly, the wheels are turning. Need to have a hundred projects going on at once, you know, but really have not really many friends. Thank you so much.
[00:19:57] Unknown:
Yo. Chill. Yo.
[00:20:00] Unknown:
Chill. I just mean That was mean. I just mean you have a lot of friends, but you are, you know, particular. You're just like, I got stuff to do. Oh, yeah. I mean You got your eyes on the prize kinda thing is what I'm saying. You're not trying to go f around and find out. I'm fine being by myself. I think that's what you're saying. I don't mind being alone. Yeah.
[00:20:23] Unknown:
No. I didn't take that personally or anything. But Okay. But too. So he, you know, he's on Jimmy Fallon, had the shoes, revealed the collab with Oakley, which
[00:20:36] Unknown:
I'm a huge fan of. Because Oakley's so, like, what do we say? Nostalgic.
[00:20:40] Unknown:
It's like nostalgic. G. But it's also yeah. It's OG, but it's also still Certified. Hip and cool. Yeah. It's edgy. It, like, absolutely fits with how he is and, like, what he's looking to do. So very excited to see what they do there. But one thing they brought up too was the Bill Nye interaction. He asked him about that, and he talked about that a little bit. When you when you play in the NBA, you never know who you're gonna be, seeing, courtside.
[00:21:05] Unknown:
And I saw you, tweet something that, you said, how can I meet Bill Nye the Science Guy? Yes. Why Bill Nye the Science Guy? I just grew up loving education, and he made learning fun. I know a lot of people probably feel the same way, but Yeah. That's great. Yeah. Good deal. You mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean you mean what did you what did you end up talking about?
[00:21:37] Unknown:
So I teach. I do, the MIT fellowship, and I've done lectures at Harvard. So, I told him maybe we can do, like, a bill not spin off or something. I would love to to to Really? Yeah. I would love to do something in educational journey, kinda like pass the torch and kinda take where he left off.
[00:21:54] Unknown:
Yo. Are we gonna get a Jalen Bill Nye collab? I mean, we've been
[00:21:59] Unknown:
ecstatic. But this is what I'm talking about to my listeners. It's not just, like, bunch of basketball players, you know, playing basketball. Like, they're just so they're all so interesting, and you gotta get to know Jalen. This is the stuff you gotta know. It's awesome. Yeah. My guy's at MIT and Harvard. But then he also, you know, was just dating Kaiser whatever her last name is. Do you mind if I remember what it is? Oh, I have no idea. When you said Kaiser, I didn't even know. That was. That's her name. I didn't even know that. And she's a gorgeous, gorgeous WNBA. I don't know if she's still playing in the WNBA, but she had an ex who was also in the NBA, and there was some stuff who is in the NBA, and there was some stuff in the news about them that wasn't so good.
And he was dating her, and he was like, yeah. I'm doing this. And then now it's been ice cold, so I don't think they're dating anymore. But, Yeah. Wasn't she on the the duck boat? Yeah. She's on the duck boat. They hard launched that. Oh, for sure. And then yeah. They mean they went to it's the SP issue with him. I'm not sure. But in any case, there's just many layers, many layers to JB, along with all the other guys. You know? Yeah. I feel like he's a special case, though. I mean, he's vice president of the Players Association. Yes. Vice president of Players Association. Maybe what we should do is in doesn't have to be every episode, but maybe every other. We can do, like, a player spotlight. Yep. Way ahead of you. I'm I'm going deep. Once a week, we're gonna talk about some of it. Oh, love that. Yeah. No. I think that would be so great. This week was Jalen because it's just a layup, but I'm gonna start to go deeper. Okay. Well, we can also talk about how, you know and I've said this before, but if I'm just doing this for Kimberly. I'm picturing she's the only one listening.
[00:23:51] Unknown:
At this point, fuck everybody else. Sorry. I will I'll edit that out. But this is Kim. If you wanna come and record with us anytime, open invite. Yeah. For sure.
[00:24:02] Unknown:
She's in Costa Rica right now. She probably was sad because we didn't have the episode out last week. She couldn't listen on the plane. Yeah. She could've downloaded it on the plane. Okay. But yeah. No. Baby's got a brother who used to babysit for deuce. Got a really pretty girlfriend.
[00:24:21] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, you could go over there. People has an ugly girlfriend. Are you gonna say that? Because everybody's girlfriend is pretty to you.
[00:24:29] Unknown:
I think they're I think they're all they're all pretty. Good answer. Some are more gorgeous,
[00:24:35] Unknown:
but some are pretty Some stand out, but they're all beautiful.
[00:24:40] Unknown:
But yeah. I mean, we're very lucky to have him, but I would love a player spotlight. But I wanna go I wanna go back. I'm not prepared today to go back to JB, but
[00:24:50] Unknown:
Do a real deep dive on JB?
[00:24:53] Unknown:
Maybe eventually, but in some weeks from now because we're just talking about him so much today. Yeah. No. It's not gonna be next week.
[00:24:59] Unknown:
He did the dunk contest last year. People were hating on him hard. People were hating. People said he couldn't go left. He can go left. I'm also confused. Do we want Mac McClung who's doing it again? Although, he said about it. Mac said this is last year. Yeah. It should be. He's retiring after this.
[00:25:17] Unknown:
Yeah. No. We I don't even talk about the dunk contest. But, yeah, I mean, there's just a lot to the NBA to the guys. You know, lots of moving parts, and it's fun to watch. It's fun to get to know.
[00:25:32] Unknown:
Yes. Speaking of moving parts, another smaller Lakers trade, but they traded Dalton Connect, for Mark Williams, and that was a failed physical. And I think this just kinda shows, like, you know, everyone's like, oh, it's a business. It's a business. And absolutely, it is, of course. But at the end of the day, there's a human element to it too, and sometimes it's kinda lost. And I feel like especially the players always get the bad end of that where it's like, oh, you play professional basketball. How hard can it be? You make millions of dollars, but no matter where you work, you make friends. You develop relationships.
You may like work. You may not like work. But he just had some comments after, and it just kinda struck me where I was like, damn. This there must be tough. Just one day you're somewhere, you got all your friends. You got not only your boys on the team, but you have coaches. You have staff. You have people you've developed relationships with. He just got drafted by them, and then they're like, oh, by the way, you're done. You're gone. This is what he is. You know, after that game,
[00:26:39] Unknown:
came back that night or not that night. The next day, went to go get some shots up in the gym. 23 throws in. I usually always shoot 25 right before I shoot. And, you know He didn't let him finish his free throws. Called me up there and told me the news. You know? It's hard. You know? I got drafted here, so LA means a lot. So, you know, hearing that. Then I go to Charlotte, in the morning with with one of my guys and then, you know, get introduced and start meeting all those people and then fly out to Detroit to what's called my debut game to then now I'm flying back to LA. Rob called me and said you're coming back and, you know, I was just, excited just to go out there and hoop no matter where I was going. I just wanna go hoop. I told that to JJ and, Rob. You know, I get it to business. So at the end of the day, I told him, like, it's just let's go play basketball.
[00:27:30] Unknown:
He's still I think maybe he's playing now, but he didn't play for, like, a game or two when he came back. So, I mean, just tough.
[00:27:38] Unknown:
Yeah. It's definitely gotta be a huge whirlwind, but I guess that's the name of the game.
[00:27:46] Unknown:
Yeah. It's just how it is out there in the streets, I guess, but still tough. Oh, also, just to put a little bow on Jalen too. So he do you see he did the Sports Illustrated interview too? Like we said, guys went everywhere. And he posts for Calvin Klein as well. Calvin Klein as well. And did you see this is in the middle of his interview with Sports Illustrated? To you. What? Missoula. Oh, yeah. I didn't I didn't see a sense of it. Interested man in the world.
[00:28:14] Unknown:
Look at this mother
[00:28:16] Unknown:
He's gonna come in and just interrupt.
[00:28:19] Unknown:
Absolutely. Oh, shit. Good. I'm good. Great to see you. Yes, sir. Appreciate you. Man.
[00:28:26] Unknown:
I'll be waiting for it outside. Alright. Yeah. Put some socks on.
[00:28:32] Unknown:
Joe looked down at his feet when he said that. He forgot he didn't have socks on. He's probably just fighting somebody outside. Mhmm. Incredible, though. Joe does not care whatsoever. He does whatever he wants. I know.
[00:28:47] Unknown:
He's a good one. He is. There's also rumors that, Brad's leaving us and Sam's leaving us. No. Those Brad rumors are squashed. Really?
[00:29:00] Unknown:
Yep. Straight from the horse's mouth. Okay. That's good. Let me pull it up.
[00:29:07] Unknown:
That would be a real loss.
[00:29:09] Unknown:
This is tonight, 08:36PM. Brad Stevens said he won't be in the running for the upcoming vacant Indiana men's basketball coaching job. I thoroughly appreciate being a Celtic and love the people I get to work with every day. I don't see any other quotes, but he's not leaving.
[00:29:26] Unknown:
Thank goodness. Thank goodness.
[00:29:28] Unknown:
That would have been tragic. But you said Sam Cassell may go to Florida State you showed me the other night? Yeah. But, honestly, fine.
[00:29:38] Unknown:
Brad, way bigger loss than Sam. No love no offense. But I like Sam. Like, I really like Sam, but it would be different. It would be okay. I would understand it.
[00:29:49] Unknown:
You know? Yeah. I mean, it when you're the associate head coach, I think it is, that essentially means you could be a head coach. You're just not because we have a head coach. And with Joe there, you're not gonna become the Celtics head coach. He's not at the end of the road. He's at the beginning of the road. Mhmm. So if Sam does have higher aspirations and he wants to be a head coach at any level, he's just gonna need to go somewhere else. Yeah. And I feel like too he'd probably crush in college.
[00:30:24] Unknown:
I have another thing to talk about with Jalen. Did you see I don't know if I told you, but maybe I did. Or that little girl at the Knicks game was wearing his sneakers, but wearing Nick's jersey. Yes. It was so cute. Yeah. So funny also. And he was like But like The wrong JB. Respect. I know. But that was so funny. Like, why was she wearing his shoes and a Nick's jersey? Like, what, what
[00:30:53] Unknown:
an incredible young girl. Yeah. Well, I feel she like, she's probably I mean, it was in New York. She's probably a Knicks fan, but she must also be a JB fan. That's what I'm saying. What a cool girl. Yeah. But like we said too, he operates, like, outside of basketball. Like, he he has transcended basketball. He is a brand now. He's beyond just the Celtics player. And did you did you see? Mhmm. Did you see? Speaking of his shoes, Wizards rookie, Bub Carrington, practicing for the rising stars game in the July Rovers. First I see. I see. First guy not in the Celtics to I know. To be wearing them. So Yeah. I'm excited. I'm just trying to get for him.
[00:31:33] Unknown:
I'm also a little nervous for him. Just to cost him a lot of money to make these shoes.
[00:31:40] Unknown:
Yeah. But he's now making money.
[00:31:43] Unknown:
I'll preorder.
[00:31:45] Unknown:
Yeah. I think he's probably doing okay, though. He seems like he's pretty happy about everything. I think so too. And everything I've seen, which people love to trash people, and everything I've seen, people love the shoes. And there's guys playing with them in the NBA. Guys aren't gonna wear them if they don't like them. Mhmm. I mean, Pritchard used to only wear the Sabrinas, the Nikes, and now he only wears the seven forty ones. So was,
[00:32:11] Unknown:
interviewing the guys, and probably asked him way more than just this question, but he asked all of them if they were superstitious, and pretty much all of them said no, except for d white. And Pritchard said that he used to be more, and he still kinda is. Like, if he has a really bad shoe tonight, like or maybe, like, a bad week, like, he'll change his shoes. Like, he won't wear the same shoes anymore. So I was like, oh my gosh. What happens if he has a bad night in the JBs? Well, he does wear the different colors, though. He's the like, I've only seen,
[00:32:44] Unknown:
who's the who's the other dude that wears them on our team? Jordan Walsh. Jordan, like, only wears the black ones, but, Perich will wear the gray ones and the black ones. So maybe he's gotta switch up the color if if it is, but I'm pretty sure he's only worn the those for a while now.
[00:33:03] Unknown:
I'm not sure.
[00:33:05] Unknown:
I'm on it.
[00:33:06] Unknown:
Okay. But, yeah, a little bit the guys are out in the world now because it's all star break, so they're on vacation. They're they're taking time off.
[00:33:22] Unknown:
Yeah. Poor Zingyas. I mean, he got right up out of there. Yeah. Right on the plane, and he was like, I've had enough That was wild. Boston weather.
[00:33:31] Unknown:
I don't blame him. Pritchard too. He's gone somewhere really sunny. See? I follow his wife. She's also very pretty. Wait.
[00:33:44] Unknown:
Well, yeah. I mean, if you're in Boston, you gotta get up out of there. They're in the water on horses.
[00:33:50] Unknown:
Would you do that?
[00:33:51] Unknown:
Go in the water on horses? Yeah. I mean, maybe.
[00:33:55] Unknown:
Would you, like, wanna do that? Would you be like, we gotta do this, Chels.
[00:34:01] Unknown:
We gotta go on this horse in the water. No. I would that wouldn't be my default. No. I don't ever need to ride a horse. Last time Pritchard wore anything that wasn't the seven forty ones was January 20, But that was after a 20 game, so it's not like he had a bad shooting night. Mhmm. But he's worn since Christmas. He's he did he wore the Nike Sabrina twos on Christmas, and then he's only worn the Nike Sabrina twos twice since then. Everything else has been in the Rovers.
[00:34:35] Unknown:
Well, then he must like them because I feel like he is, like, as neurotic as they get.
[00:34:44] Unknown:
Oh, I mean, for sure. In terms of his game. 347 games he's played in Nike shoes. Mhmm. So most of them only still only 33 games he's played in the seven forty ones because, obviously, they just came out. So he clearly likes them. Mhmm. Or maybe he's getting paid under the table at this point because I don't think there's been anything official.
[00:35:06] Unknown:
Maybe. But that would be okay too.
[00:35:08] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, they're boys too, so maybe it's just, like, for the for the love of the brand. Because it would be cool to have the six man of the year wearing your shoes.
[00:35:17] Unknown:
Super cool.
[00:35:21] Unknown:
We got a lot out of jail on tonight. I don't know. This can be the jail on episode. Yeah. I don't know if we have to go any deeper at this point. I'm sure we could.
[00:35:32] Unknown:
I mean, the people know. Jim butt to the to the warriors.
[00:35:43] Unknown:
Jim butt. I was like, who,
[00:35:45] Unknown:
Jim butt. Yeah. Which, I mean, is surprising. I feel like a little bit. How I mean, we not really. Steph, I think you could play with everyone. He's just happy, lucky kinda dude. But I'm, like, looking at it, and I'm, like, oh, they might have some little Duolingo going on. What do you mean? I don't know. It might be LaBash Bros. It might be a good
[00:36:13] Unknown:
Like a good combo. Yin yang type thing. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:36:16] Unknown:
Which is cool.
[00:36:17] Unknown:
Yeah. I feel like they could definitely balance each other out pretty well. Yeah. That's cool.
[00:36:22] Unknown:
Because I was like, where is he gonna play? He can't fit anywhere. I was being a hater, but, you know, I'm thinking it's might be a good fit.
[00:36:31] Unknown:
Yeah. I still just don't think that's enough to hang in the West, but they're probably a little better than they were before. It seemed like it was going terribly. Steph, I mean, we've played clips. He seemed unhappy every single time, and he certainly seems much happier now. I saw him geeking on the bench with Jimmy.
[00:36:52] Unknown:
Mhmm.
[00:36:54] Unknown:
So I don't know. It can't go much worse.
[00:36:58] Unknown:
And then the Bucks got rid of Middleton. Yeah. Which I thought was a little crazy, but I don't know. Made me feel bad, though. Giannis was quite upset about it.
[00:37:11] Unknown:
Yeah. Honestly, I think it's good for everybody in the East because Kyle Kuzma
[00:37:17] Unknown:
I understand.
[00:37:18] Unknown:
Good. Have fun. Honestly, have fun. I don't get it. That guy stinks. I understand. That seems like not the move whatsoever. Mhmm. Go ahead. Because Khris Middleton especially used to kill us. Mhmm. It's like every time he played him, he killed us. So happy to see him go. Can we also talk about
[00:37:38] Unknown:
our who we picked up, Tory Craig. Already Didn't know him at all, but now I do, and I love him. Already got it loaded up. This is Tory Craig after his debut.
[00:37:48] Unknown:
Amazing. The atmosphere, the crowd, the fans. I mean, it's just a a joy to play in front of me. Stylish, dude. Crowd like that. A cool dude. Dude is a sweet dude. Yeah. I made my debut in the garden. I'm glad I had my first shot.
[00:38:02] Unknown:
I mean, it's big I'm a jag even before he when he was bench warming the couple games when he was, like, you know, I don't know what it was. Whatever it was, but he was a great he was cheering everybody on. He was, like, looking super cool over there. I was like, we don't have anybody like him on our team. No. I mean, he's on We really don't. He was on the Bulls beforehand, so he must be
[00:38:29] Unknown:
so happy Yeah. To be playing with us.
[00:38:32] Unknown:
I'm excited for him. He I think what did he have? Two three hit two threes? Yeah. He hit at least two threes. That's awesome. I can't wait to see him see him
[00:38:41] Unknown:
go. Yeah. And he's lanky. His arms, he's huge looking out there. Long arms. So I think he's gonna be good, and he kinda just I don't know that he really has a position. He seems like he can kinda do everything. He can definitely cover a bunch of different positions,
[00:38:56] Unknown:
and I really think he's gonna help us out. Yeah. I'm excited. I'll get into his socials soon, girls.
[00:39:03] Unknown:
Yeah. We could try to maybe do a dive on him.
[00:39:08] Unknown:
Yeah. I'm so excited to do dive. Just a little just a little, segment about
[00:39:13] Unknown:
So we'll get to know the guys. Get to know the guys. And I think we're gonna go not just Celtics too. We're gonna go off Celtics as well.
[00:39:20] Unknown:
But mostly Celtics.
[00:39:22] Unknown:
Well, yeah, obviously. But, yeah, he was two of two. I had two threes.
[00:39:26] Unknown:
That's awesome. Yeah. I'll take it.
[00:39:29] Unknown:
I mean, anytime a guy wants to come in, hit two threes, be my guest. Only played nine minutes. Yeah. Also had an assist.
[00:39:38] Unknown:
I'm honestly Yeah. Shout out him. Upset. It's all star break.
[00:39:43] Unknown:
I know. At least our guys are in it, though, so we can watch them. I know. We definitely will, but, like, I don't care. Because they don't play again till next Thursday.
[00:39:54] Unknown:
That's just just far too long. Way too long. What are we gonna do?
[00:40:01] Unknown:
I don't know. They play the seventy sixers, though, your team. Did you see the seventy sixers might send Paul George to the g league to get some confidence back? No way. Oh, yeah. He had two points the other night. A game that, Embiid and I think it was Embiid, maybe a Maxi didn't play. He had two points. I don't know. He said his finger Come on. He said his fingers hurt or something, but I'm like, yo, dog. Maybe he's not happy.
[00:40:33] Unknown:
Maybe he's in a rut. A g leak. Oh, man. That's really rough. Man,
[00:40:38] Unknown:
the 70 sixes are in shambles. Remember when people were saying they were, like, gonna beat us and stuff? They're a big contender.
[00:40:45] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:40:47] Unknown:
We have been playing
[00:40:48] Unknown:
very well. Celtics are back.
[00:40:51] Unknown:
We haven't been very well. Dwight's been back.
[00:40:55] Unknown:
Yeah. I mean, we we absolutely smashed the Knicks, and, this is what this this is what's.
[00:41:02] Unknown:
Was crashing down. Like, you are now reminded once again that you are just not on the same level, and you have a long ways to go. Question for you.
[00:41:12] Unknown:
That's Yeah.
[00:41:13] Unknown:
Stuff. You have a long ways to go. You're not on the level.
[00:41:18] Unknown:
It is funny though. And how he talked about last time or the time before, the power rankings rockets are no longer They fell off a cliff. On them at all, and they were number two.
[00:41:31] Unknown:
And they're not even on top five. Yeah. Because I felt a little bad for a second because after we thrash them, they beat us.
[00:41:38] Unknown:
But then after that, they lost five in a row. Yeah. They were number two. Now they're off the list. We are number two behind OKC. But I brought that up because the Knicks are number five or something like that.
[00:41:50] Unknown:
Or whatever whatever the heck the power in Kinzema mean, I don't know. I don't know. Because they must be trying to get me upset because this is ESPN power rankings on the twelfth. So this is before the all star break, and they got Cleveland back at number two. Oh, really? I'm sorry.
[00:42:08] Unknown:
What? I don't buy it. I'm sorry.
[00:42:10] Unknown:
But the Rockets dropped to eight. Yikes. And they were two There were two, then they were five, then now now they're two and a half ago. Yeah. Yeah. That people woke up.
[00:42:22] Unknown:
Yikes. We're like, oh, okay.
[00:42:26] Unknown:
And, still the top OKC, but they lost to Minnesota. Mhmm. Mhmm. Kinda got Into that. Smashed by Minnesota.
[00:42:35] Unknown:
I think he had a great game.
[00:42:37] Unknown:
Of course, he did. He dunked on Chet too. No. It's wild. Bum.
[00:42:41] Unknown:
I feel like I don't trust Chet being out there. I feel like he's gonna break again. He looks like he's gonna break stuff. Yeah. I mean, he shouldn't if if I mean, obviously, Ant's, like, super powerful, super athletic. Of course, he could dunk on anyone.
[00:42:56] Unknown:
And he has dunked on a lot of dudes. But
[00:43:00] Unknown:
Chet, maybe he didn't have the bounce
[00:43:03] Unknown:
because he's still a little broken. And, like, Chet also though jumped up and, like, midway, he just leaned to the side away from him because he knew he's like, oh, no. I don't have this one. Again, almost wasn't as good of a dunk by Ant because Chet just moved out of the way. Yeah. He's like, okay. He's like, I'm all set with this.
[00:43:23] Unknown:
On a personal note, our little tea is in a big boy bed.
[00:43:31] Unknown:
Yes.
[00:43:32] Unknown:
And it's been interesting.
[00:43:36] Unknown:
It has. Last night, I come down. You're in the basement. I'm in the room, and I hear him just going, garbage truck, fire truck, police car, and he has a book, like, hundred first trucks or whatever. And I'm like, wow. This kid, he's fucking genius. He's, like, remembers all these. He's just reciting them from memory. And then he's like, jeep, horse trailer, tractor, bailer. And I'm like, this is too much. And I look at the monitor. He has a book. He's just reading that that he got up and got.
[00:44:12] Unknown:
He got up and got it. A menace.
[00:44:14] Unknown:
And this morning, he's calling for me. I go upstairs. He's, like, got his little lamp on. He's like, I just got up myself, mom. Like, okay.
[00:44:22] Unknown:
Yeah. And last night too, when we were after I called you up, we were looking after you had the book, he flicked the light off that he flicked the light on, but he flicked it back off again. It's so funny.
[00:44:32] Unknown:
It's just so funny to watch him, like, kinda figure it out. Every night, he's kinda, like, doing a little bit more, a little bit more. I mean, soon enough, he's gonna be down the stairs. Soon if we're gonna wake up, he's gonna be in the middle of our bed just smiling, looking at us. I don't know. Maybe we need to put, like, some sort of an alarm on the on the gate. I don't know what to do. Something.
[00:44:54] Unknown:
Oh, man. Because he still doesn't know how powerful he can be. He has no clue. No. He has no idea. He has no clue.
[00:45:02] Unknown:
But he's just too much. I mean, like, we talked about before, like, forget what I said. He was just being a little wild this afternoon, and I said something along the lines of, like, do you do you want to go do you wanna go to Nana's? And he was like, no. I don't wanna go there. I just wanna stay home. Knowing he absolutely does wanna go there, but, like, any kinda, like, backwards,
[00:45:33] Unknown:
quote, unquote, threat No. If you see it right through. I can't If you think you're gonna threaten him that truck anymore that you just took away. I don't care. I don't want it. He will die on any hill. He does not care. He will call your bluff and not care at all. Yeah. Like You cannot unless you're ready to follow through, you cannot threaten him because he calls it immediately.
[00:45:55] Unknown:
It's so funny. He's just such a funny dude.
[00:46:00] Unknown:
Yeah. He really does not care. When you learn the
[00:46:03] Unknown:
put your cool on the floor method of putting it on That was like a magic trick to me. I was like I I think he, like, I recall like, when he put it on the floor earlier today, I was like, oh, yeah. I I'm sure I'd I know I did that. But it was just so easy. I wanna see what I learned at school, and I was like, oh my gosh.
[00:46:23] Unknown:
Yeah. Even the level up with just getting the clothes on lately too has been kinda wild. Yeah. It's just Like, how easily he can just pull them all on. That's wild. Because he's a little offy with that kind of stuff. Like, he's a little Hugh is I think because he's just gotten I think because he grew so fast. He's so big
[00:46:39] Unknown:
that those, like, motor things, like I mean, he walked fairly early. I feel like he was always very mobile. But, like, I mean, I feel like The agility, though. Yeah. It took him a while to look to go down the slide because he's just so
[00:46:55] Unknown:
huge. He never climbed out of his crib over three years old. Never one time climbed out of his crib. Couldn't figure it out mentally. Yeah. Even when he first got in the bed. Now it's only been some days, but he didn't get out for days. He didn't get up unless we went upstairs. He could easily have gotten out of the bed. Yeah. It's hilarious.
[00:47:12] Unknown:
But, yeah, anytime even even I would tell him when he was in his crib, I'd be like, alright. Climb out. And he'd be like well, sometimes he'd say, like, I can't. And then he would, like, climb halfway, be, like, straddling the the railing, and be like, mom, I need help. I can't do it.
[00:47:30] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, like you say, he did do some stuff early, and he is, like, kind of a very independent kid. But then certain things, like, every time I drop him off or pick him up from school, he wants to be carried. And granted, he's the youngest kid there, but every single other kid walks. But he swam this morning. Yeah. He did walk this morning. He's stressed out. He's already too old. Yeah. When Liam was like, Talon walks like this, and he was just doing the big shoulder back and forth. Oh my god. He loves. He can't tell him nothing. No. He walks like he owns the place.
[00:48:03] Unknown:
Anyway. Yeah. He's a hoot. A hoot and a half. Isn't JD supposed to be in this rising stars game?
[00:48:13] Unknown:
Yeah. So there's two games, and then there's a final. Oh, I see. Playing a 40, I think. And it's gonna be the I think this is the same format as the all star game, and I'm pretty sure one of these teams will then make it into the all star game. Yeah. It's pretty cool. It will be cool to see. I would love Did they do a good draft as well? Do you know? For this, yeah. I'm pretty sure. Mhmm. They have, like, Tim Hardaway, Chris Mullen, couple other people. Mhmm. Oh, team g league. So similar where, like, kinda they're gonna have, like, one of these teams get into the other one. They have a g league team, and then they have the other guys too. That's cool. Wow. I would love the g league team
[00:48:54] Unknown:
to beat everyone.
[00:48:55] Unknown:
Because that must be amazing. That's gotta be what what's his name is on. Yeah. That's cool. Yeah. So that so this is over. And then I also love how they just played to 40. So much smarter guys can play harder. I love it. Yeah. That's gonna be the same thing for the all star game too.
[00:49:13] Unknown:
Let me down in one second.
[00:49:16] Unknown:
That's how it should be. It shouldn't be a long I mean, Kemba Walker. Poor guy never came back the same. It was a overtime or whatever it was in the and they left him out there, and his knee was never the same after that. Never came back the same. Done. Career over.
[00:49:32] Unknown:
Like, how long was that? That's when I be I was a fan when Campbell was on the team. I wanna know how many years I've been a fan. I'm looking it up. Because you were just making me feel like I don't need I hate not you. I'm not a real fan.
[00:49:52] Unknown:
Twenty twenty twenty twenty one is his last year at the Salt Lake. Oh, wait. Five years ago.
[00:49:58] Unknown:
No.
[00:49:58] Unknown:
Yes, honey. No. This is 2024. Yeah. But how many years was he on the team? That was four years ago. Two years. That's all I was thinking of. There's no way you know that it was the first year. Talk about it anymore. I know I'm right. I'm gonna look up when he was an all star.
[00:50:14] Unknown:
I know I'm right. No.
[00:50:17] Unknown:
I will take the L if he was an all star's first year. Otherwise, no.
[00:50:24] Unknown:
Well, that'll be cool. That makes me feel maybe a little bit more excited to watch it even though I don't really wanna watch it. Because I just would rather the Celtics be playing.
[00:50:36] Unknown:
I know, but the Celtics are playing.
[00:50:38] Unknown:
Yeah. I know. I
[00:50:43] Unknown:
had to fix that picture in the frame. I will take that. He's an all star 2019, '20 '20. Then he never came back to say too short. And he never came back to say. Me out. But I I'm just gonna say, though I wasn't like I am now. You were casual. I said you became a big fan the last few years. So I'm gonna still take the out, but I just want it on the record. I'm putting it in the scroll. You were casual at that point.
[00:51:06] Unknown:
Fine.
[00:51:08] Unknown:
Just saying.
[00:51:10] Unknown:
At that point, I didn't wanna start go to Celtics games. We were living in Boston.
[00:51:14] Unknown:
At that point, I didn't wanna start a podcast. That was just different. That's all I'm saying. Sure.
[00:51:21] Unknown:
I think I became more of a fan when we were living in Boston because we could just
[00:51:26] Unknown:
kinda go to the games. Could actually make it to the games.
[00:51:29] Unknown:
Yeah. And then we could go anytime. We were like, tonight? And we could go because it was so easy.
[00:51:38] Unknown:
Yeah. It was easy. We didn't have a child either. Right. And that made it a little bit better. Yeah. Like, we have tickets to the Cavsium on the twenty eighth.
[00:51:47] Unknown:
I still haven't told my parents because
[00:51:51] Unknown:
That's in two weeks. I'm
[00:51:53] Unknown:
just talking to you about this. You know this. I'm scared to tell them because they're watching him, like, every weekend ever for the next month.
[00:52:02] Unknown:
Two or yeah. Actually, three weekends in the next month if we go to the game.
[00:52:08] Unknown:
Right.
[00:52:09] Unknown:
I'm going to the game. So you can come or I can find someone else to go with. Well, how about I'm going to the game and I'll find someone else to go with? No offense. The tickets are mine. You're a guest. No offense. You're a guest at the games. I'm your wife. Don't take this the wrong way. So You're a guest. They're mine. You're a guest.
[00:52:28] Unknown:
They're mine.
[00:52:30] Unknown:
If if I wasn't here, if I dropped dead on the floor, could you access the tickets in any way? They're my tickets. You're the dude. That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. Tandemoore. I mean, you're the only person I asked to go. The only time I've gone without you is if you couldn't go or we talked about. I'm just saying don't get high and mighty on me like you're gonna go without me.
[00:52:52] Unknown:
I just might. No shot. Alright. Moving on.
[00:53:00] Unknown:
So couple of our favorite guys, former Celtics, and they're just such a dynamic duo, KG and Paul Pierce. This is going back a little bit. It's maybe a couple weeks ago. Not that their podcast is the biggest, but, they just kinda Quite bigger than ours. Of course. I mean, they're two former NBA superstars. But, yeah, just a very interesting question back and forth and just very funny coming from the two of them. Would you do The Bachelor?
[00:53:30] Unknown:
Would you do The Bachelor? I haven't heard this. Would you, The Truth, do The Bachelor?
[00:53:37] Unknown:
I probably would. You would? I probably would. With the one on national TV? Yeah. You know, I do my own version of it. I don't like that. That's too bougie. No. You know, you get it you get some intake, but would you do the bash? This tickled me so much. Form of it, not that one on the national. I'll do a form of it. We if we put something together. You'll go through that whole thing and try to find love and all that? Yeah. For sure. I'll do that. That'll be fun. Some words.
[00:53:59] Unknown:
Oh, great. That's so funny. I really hope that they do do their own thing. It's also rare think about a we need to think about a name. It's also rare that I can get you with,
[00:54:10] Unknown:
Something I didn't see. With something you haven't seen. I know. I love that. Yeah. And they did for the truth. Because this is just kinda a Jalen themed episode. They, I think he hooked him up with a pair. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He did some gear. He's you saw this one. Mhmm.
[00:54:25] Unknown:
They were kinda they were hyped. Hey. I'm on top. I mean, KG. Let's go on top. I got the seven forty one. JB. Yes, sir. JB is good looks, bro. Yes, sir. We got the seven forty ones today.
[00:54:37] Unknown:
I love how unprofessional they are. It it just is so great. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, it's hard. Jesus Christ. It's hard. Literally, Paul immediately pulls his phone out and starts taking a selfie with the shoes. That's the shoe that he wearing out there? Yeah. It's his signature shoe.
[00:54:53] Unknown:
Yeah. He's sick. Thank you, my boy.
[00:54:58] Unknown:
Oh. These are the best. I'm not gonna have to wear all this on here, We gotta get seven forty one though. We need to have a seven forty one. Oh, he made that Boston boy. Sweatpants too. So there you go. He's got the big jacket again too. Yeah. Bro, put the mom at the wedding season. Listen.
[00:55:13] Unknown:
I know you know. The people don't know. I'm producing. Act surprised sometimes. Certified,
[00:55:19] Unknown:
man. No doubt. We gotta get you on here too. And we gotta come to the factory and see where you make all this shit and to see the I love you once to go to the factory. All this. I love you. Really sweet. But, man, thank you for this. I appreciate you, dog. My dude, you know what it is. It's so nice. It's so special. I also feel like
[00:55:35] Unknown:
how many years did KG and Paul play together?
[00:55:41] Unknown:
A decent number. I mean, KG played most of his time.
[00:55:45] Unknown:
How did they turn out to be that they're, like, the Boston boys?
[00:55:50] Unknown:
Well, Paul Pierce entire career with the Celtics.
[00:55:53] Unknown:
Yeah. OG.
[00:55:55] Unknown:
Kevin Garnett was with the Timberwolves Yeah. For a long time. Yeah. Nineteen ninety five to 02/2006. Got traded to the Celtics first year with Ray Allen, with Paul Pierce, won the championship. Shout out 02/2008. I was in Boston game seven of the finals. Car got towed. Had to go pay, like, $400 to didn't even go to the game. We're just in Boston on people's home videos going through the the city. Riot police almost killed us. And then And you were 17. 17. Car got towed. Mhmm. Had to drive the tan minivan. Shout out to tan minivan. Best car I ever drove. But, yeah, then he played for them for six years.
[00:56:45] Unknown:
Oh, okay.
[00:56:47] Unknown:
So and but I think when you win a championship, like, he was KG was unbelievable for Minnesota. I mean, before, guys were seven feet tall, like, but, like, KG was one of the original unicorns. Dude was seven feet tall, could go up and down the court no problem. Got he didn't shoot threes because guys that big just didn't shoot threes back in the day, but he would shoot jump shots when no guys that big shot jump shots. He was way ahead of his time. Guys like went be in We're very lucky. We're lucky to have him. Those two. Oh, he was the best. He changed, like, the real culture dynamic. We're lucky to have him now though, you know?
Yeah. Well, I think too, like, he was feel like it's rare. Yeah. He was kinda out of the spot. Like, he always goes to the games. Like, he's, like, supports the Celtics, but he was kinda out of the he kinda just, like, stepped away, I think, for a while, but then he kinda has now come back. They have the podcast. But I like like it's in a way, like, almost like a grassroots project, podcast. It's not like they're,
[00:57:45] Unknown:
like Like, produced.
[00:57:47] Unknown:
Yeah. Like, you know They're just out there doing chilling. Yeah. So I think that that's what also makes it kinda special is that, like I said, I think the best part about it is how unprofessional they are. That's not in the mall. Very it's, like, very
[00:58:00] Unknown:
Boston.
[00:58:01] Unknown:
Yeah. It's just, like, two guys hanging out together. They just happen to be unbelievable at basketball. Yeah. That's cool. I just like how they're, like,
[00:58:09] Unknown:
they're so supportive, and JB shouted them out on x or whatever it's called now.
[00:58:17] Unknown:
Yeah. He did give him a huge shout out. Which is really nice.
[00:58:22] Unknown:
So and maybe someday, Jaylen and Jason will have a podcast together.
[00:58:27] Unknown:
Yeah. I highly doubt that. But you never know. That would be very interesting, though. Yeah. That'd be a good one. Years from now. Yeah. That'd be a good one. Mhmm.
[00:58:37] Unknown:
Oh. They could fill us in on all the secrets. Because there's definitely a lot of secrets.
[00:58:43] Unknown:
Of course, there are. Oh, there's our guy. Oh, yeah. JD.
[00:58:49] Unknown:
Mhmm. Only one in green.
[00:58:51] Unknown:
Yeah.
[00:58:52] Unknown:
The the these dancers, they're the real they're the real MVPs.
[00:58:57] Unknown:
Shout out to this. They have not stopped. These girls, are they okay? Someone get them a water. They have not stopped. Do they have water for them?
[00:59:04] Unknown:
Oh, man. I really hope this g league team comes out and kills it, man.
[00:59:11] Unknown:
They might. They might also get scrubs. Who is this guy? Jeremy Lin. What are you Insanity. This is how this is how we know you're not a real fan of the game. This is why I go back to you you're you're new. You're new on the block. Seriously so
[00:59:26] Unknown:
mean. I'm quitting the podcast. Your talent's quit. I'm walking out.
[00:59:33] Unknown:
Take it back. Yeah. Jeremy Lynch. I was going. You miss you were I don't know if you were around for a little insanity. I don't know who he is. Maybe just tell me who he is He and be nice. He played at Harvard, and then he played for the Knicks. And he was just like a like, he was a moment
[00:59:50] Unknown:
in the NBA. His hair and his sparkles. I was like, who is he?
[00:59:53] Unknown:
Yeah. I actually so let me just make sure that you play at Harvard before I start talking crazy. He played at Harvard, and I I saw him play at Harvard. Mhmm. Went to visit Andrews, saw him play at Harvard. And then he played for the warriors for a while, and then he played for the Knicks. And just he went on this run that was from 02/2011, '2 thousand '12 where he just was scoring an unbelievable amount. He was just like a moment in league where he couldn't be stopped and the nickname Linsanity and the fact that he had gone to Harvard, not like it's, like, a huge, like but Harvard's just not a big, like, feeder for professional basketball, so he really, just had a moment. And so I he's, I guess, he's kinda stuck around, and that's why they got him out here. This guy's name is Dink.
[01:00:52] Unknown:
Is he? His name is Dink Pete.
[01:00:55] Unknown:
Wow. Shout out to him. Interesting. So, I mean, you know I'll go all night, but I know you're probably trying to wrap this up. So I have one more thing that, I mean, I just gotta say I'm a huge fan of this. Don't know if we'll end up seeing it, but on the oh, god. Where is it now? On the part of my Take podcast, they had Adam Silver on, and they pitched him on an idea for the NBA. And, I mean,
[01:01:27] Unknown:
sign me up to this. Pitch you my one idea that I've had for many years. This is to the NBA commissioner. And I don't need credit for it when you actually enact it. So there's obviously been issues at times with fans getting a little unruly, maybe talking too much to the players, that whole experience. My rule, is very simple. Every single player when the season starts gets one chance to call out any fan they want, and they just get to beat the out of them in the middle of the court. And once they use it, they can't they can't use it again for the rest of the year. Thoughts on that rule? Not a good idea. Okay. But listen. No. But no. You're not you're not seeing the vision. You when you go when you see Kevin Durant, you decide to, you know, say something really, like, mean to him, you're like, wait. Does he have his one fight of fan,
[01:02:14] Unknown:
left this year? You lost me on the beat out of him part. Yeah. Well, I Sort of I was with you up to, like, alright. You can single out one fan, and then we'll review
[01:02:23] Unknown:
that fan's conduct. Think about the ratings. So, mister commissioner, think about the ratings. They're like, oh my god. We're going to Sacramento, and, you know, DeMar DeRozan has called out someone from the tenth row, and they're about to fight in the middle of the they're stopping the game to fight. Well, bring a cage. Yeah. Sure.
[01:02:40] Unknown:
Is is the fan allowed to fight back? Yes. Yes. So that's also part of it. Like, you don't wanna I didn't fully consider your idea.
[01:02:46] Unknown:
Like, you call out someone with cauliflower ears, and you might be you you might have been asking for too much.
[01:02:52] Unknown:
So That guy is funny. Incredible. Big shout out big cat. Hilarious. And I will say the only thing I'll say, obviously, Adam Adam Silver not actually considering that, but they are desperate for some ratings if he has to go on that show and endure those types of questions because that it has to be the last thing he wants to hear. They're just trying to get ratings from anywhere. They're trying to pull in anybody to watch these games.
[01:03:16] Unknown:
I don't know why the people are not watching. I mean, I know why, but I don't really know why.
[01:03:23] Unknown:
I mean, a lot I guess people don't like threes, but also, like, people used to be like, oh, I don't wanna just see the big guys just dunking the basketball all the time. I don't know. I think it's just people are soft. Basketball's as good as it's been. Super interesting. It's fun. Shout out JD starting this game.
[01:03:44] Unknown:
Shout out JD. Won't kill it for the g league.
[01:03:49] Unknown:
So do you have anyone you wanna do a dive on next? Do you have someone you're targeting?
[01:04:01] Unknown:
I don't know. Maybe we should go oldest to youngest. We're just going straight on the list. No. No. No. We don't have to do that, but I don't know. What do you think about Al? What about let's do Porzingis. I'm down for porzingis. Yeah. Let's do porzingis. That'll be a little bit more sparkly. We'll do a nice little dive on porzingis next. Okay. I'm so excited
[01:04:23] Unknown:
because I wanna know more about him too. Yeah. Oh, actually, so I know I said it was the last thing, but I got I got one more thing. Mhmm. Did you see your boy your boy, Tristan Thompson, at the end of the game against the Raptors? I already dunked it. He dunked it. Everybody lost their mind. Why didn't he do that? So he said, you want a full court press with under a minute left in the game. When you get cracked by thirty, this will happen to you. Lose for draft lottery and be happy, buddy boy. Hopefully, you that was to their coach. Hopefully, you and most of your or, actually, it might have been to, Scotty Barnes.
Hopefully, you and most of your guys see the light at the end of Bobby and Masai's long term plan. Bless up, stay warm in my city. And they're in Toronto. He don't care. Are you Canadian? I don't know. But either way, he don't care at all.
[01:05:16] Unknown:
And even they showed that I say I don't even know what he just said. What kind of language? I don't know what he was trying to say with that. Well, bless up and stay warm in my city. No. No. No. I no. Everything else, really. Oh, see the light at the end of well, so they're tanking.
[01:05:29] Unknown:
Mhmm. So he's just saying, like, hopefully, you guys see the light at the end of the tunnel. Like, hopefully, you guys get to actually see Mhmm. Something good happen from losing Yeah. Oh, yeah. All the time. Mhmm. But I just love I I get such a kick out of it's professional sports. You're supposed to beat people. They're full court pressing, under a minute left in the game, and then they're gonna cry. Grown men are gonna cry because a guy dunked a basketball. Can you imagine? I just I feel like take their how could anybody take their side on this?
[01:05:59] Unknown:
Their coach went crazy. He was, like, classless. But he does go crazy in general, that guy. But Yeah. I feel like you should do whatever you want. I get sportsmanship or whatever, like but, like, it shouldn't be that you have you you can't score,
[01:06:18] Unknown:
you know, and it can't be that you The point of the game is to score. It's I get that you kinda dribble it out at the end, but you don't have to dribble it out at the end. Can't be that you, like,
[01:06:27] Unknown:
have to get mad if the other team scores. It's like, who cares? Be a grown up. If you're winning, you're winning. You're losing, you're losing. Yeah. And Russell Westbrook once said, my only friend out there is the basketball.
[01:06:39] Unknown:
Yeah. And to me, that makes more sense than crying about some guy dunking a basketball. Grow up. Yeah. For sure. Alright. Shout out Kim. Shout out Kim. Send us a note, people. [email protected].
[01:06:54] Unknown:
Little dunkeroo.
[01:06:56] Unknown:
In a world full of assholes, be a Kim. You need to
[01:07:01] Unknown:
you need to clean up your mouth. I'll edit all this out. You won't, and it's not funny.
[01:07:06] Unknown:
