Good morning. This is David Bennett, and this is Bitcoin and, a podcast where I try to find the edge effect between the worlds of Bitcoin, gaming, permaculture, podcasting, and education to gain a better understanding of all. Edge effect is a concept from ecology describing a greater diversity of life where the edges of 2 systems overlap. While species from either system can be found at the edge, it is important to note there are species in the overlap that exist in neither system, and that is what I seek to uncover. Uncover. So join me in discovering the variety of things being created as Bitcoin rubs up against other systems. It is 10:23 AM Pacific Daylight Time. It is oh, wow. It's Memorial Day. That's right. Yeah. That's it is Memorial Day, and I'm working today. It's 27th May 2024. This is episode 901 of Bitcoin. And, of course, it's Memorial Day, which begs the question, why is the Dow Jones Industrial Trading today? I thought the markets were supposed to be closed.
In fact, oil is trading today. There is all kinds of shit that's trading today. It's it's bizarre. So if anybody can, answer the question of why, the Dow Jones is trading today, but not the SP or S and P and not Nasdaq, Why is oil trading today when markets are supposed to be closed? It's you know, the whole thing is kinda bizarre. Will somebody hopefully will, line me out on exactly what's going on there. I expect it to be a completely dead day. Anyway, what do we got going on? Oh, yes. We have the circle p going on today. And I'm bringing you back, DeBravco.
I'm bringing you back into the circle p. The circle p is where I bring goods and services of plebs like you to plebs like you, but they can only bring them to you if you're able to buy their goods and services in Bitcoin via main chain, Lightning,

eCash.
[00:02:10] Unknown:
All 3 of those are fine. I I'm I'm still good with e cash, seems to be okay, but he is selling black soldierfly. If you wanna know why you want black soldier fly in your garden, well, actually, you want you want them in bins, but you definitely want to use them outside and they make a wonderful, wonderful soil amendment out of all of your leftover food. And it could be meat. You know how they say don't ever compost meat? And they're right. You should not compost meat. But if you've got a whole bit like leftover food is a real bitch to get rid of because if it's got meat in it or meat products, you don't wanna compost it. That can cause problems. However, if you've got a black soldier fly larvae bin, well, it doesn't matter. You can throw whole fish in there. They'll be gone in inside of a day. You can throw, like, half of a steak, although god only knows why the hell you didn't eat all of your steak. That's a bad child. Bad child. Bad.
But you could put it in there and they will eat right through it. The only thing that they will not eat is bone. That's it. But everything else, they will pretty much chew through and they will self harvest themselves by if you put, like, a little plank of wood in the bin. There's honestly, what you really need to do is go search up BSFL or the full word, phrase, black soldier fly larvae, and look at some videos. Right? I mean, you there's a I've I've talked about them a couple of times on this show, but go look at some videos. You can find a couple of short ones, like, look for the ones that are 5 to 15 minutes long on YouTube or whatever, and you will understand what I'm talking about. But if you put a plank in there and it's at us, you know, kind of like close to this this angle where it's the half of the where the end of the plank is in the stuff, where all the black soldier fly are chewing the food all the way to the lip, they will crawl up that plank when they are done eating and it's time to go into a molting phase. Right? But if you put a bucket underneath the end of that plank, they will fall into the bucket and then they can't get out. And then you can feed them to your chickens. Right? Or which may if you've got, like, a like some fish, like a fish pond, they love this stuff.
Turkeys, all kinds of stuff, love love black soldier fly larvae. It's like 43% crude fat. It's like 35% protein. The rest of it is like water. It this is a really really high quality food and it gets rid of all of your leftover food and when they're done processing, you pull that stuff out, mix it into your compost and bam, dude, you got some shit going on right there. This dude's name is Oak Grove, also known as Dubravco. At Oak Grove on Nostra, that is oak as in strong as an oak, grove as in a whole bunch of them, Oak Grove. And he will sell you black soldier fly larvae. He will ship. He's located in the DFW area, so if you're living in DFW, you could probably hook up with him. I will have his in pub in the show notes so that you can get a hold of him on Noster and get your black soldier fly larva sent to you so that you can get a bin of your own going. And if you do it the right way, it'll they'll just come back year after year after year. But you might wanna talk to DeBravco about that.
Let's see. What else is oh, you need to mention that you heard that you heard it here on the circle p. If you do that, Jabravko will cut me some of those sweet Satoshis for putting him up on the air. Now onto the news, Trump is basically in making the news. Over the weekend, he said some things, and we're gonna get into it by Syrian lions out of Cointelegraph. Trump has promised to release Silk Road founder, Ross Ulbricht, if he's reelected. So campaign promise. Here we go. If can't pander, I don't know what you're doing. The former president of the United States, Donald Trump, has pledged to grant Silk Road founder, Ross Ulbricht, a presidential pardon if he is reelected in November's election. Quote, if you vote for me, on day 1, I will commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht, Trump stated at the Libertarian Party's National Convention in Washington on May 25th, quote, he's already served 11 years.
We're gonna get him home, he said of the creator of the Silk Road, which is known as the first modern darknet market with a payment system built on Bitcoin. Silk Road started in 2,011 and was run and operated by Ross Ulbricht from his personal laptop under the username dread pirate Roberts. On October 1, 20 2 2013, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation seized the laptop. He was convicted at a federal court in 2015 for various charges relating to the operations of Silk Road and sentenced to 2 life terms plus 40 years with no possibility of parole.
If nobody does anything, ladies and gentlemen, that kid dies in prison for doing nothing but running a website. And for all of the people out there that that just can't get it through their freaking head, because this happens to me every time. I'll I'll get flack about what when I say this. Yeah. But he was shelled in drugs. No. He wasn't. He was operating a website and there was a lot of other things other than drugs on Silk Road. He just built a website. He just built a website. This is the beginning of some very problematic behavior by United States Department of Justice, FBI, and all the rest of the all the rest of the cats up in Washington.
He's just operating website. And for those of you who still believe that he had hits out on people to get them murdered, you know, murder for hire, That was a lie. And all of those charges were dropped because it was a lie, and it wasn't going to hold up in federal court. He never ordered a hit on a single person. That was a complete fabrication. Stop thinking that he did that. It's embarrassing when you say shit like that. So please freaking stop it. Okay. So beyond beyond going, you know, the hey. All free Ross Ulbert if you you give me votes. He also started pandering directly to the crypto crowd by saying that he is changing his tune on digital assets. Quote, I will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in the USA and not driven overseas, he said, before promising to protect those who chose to hold their crypto assets outside outside centralized crypto exchanges. Quote, I will support the right to self custody to the nation's 50,000,000 crypto holders.
I say this with your vote. I will keep Elizabeth Warren and her goons away from your Bitcoin. He added a vastly different tone to when he was calling Bitcoin a scam during his tenure as president. So we are in full pander mode. Now last, you know, episode was named pander bear. Well, it you know, he's now fully into the whole, hey, I know the words crypto, or a self custody. I am using Bitcoin separately from the word crypto.
[00:09:44] Unknown:
I'm going to release Ross Ulbricht. This is 100% pander.
[00:09:51] Unknown:
If he does it, fine. I I don't give a shit if if he if he gets elected and he actually does the shit that he says he's gonna do. The kid needs to get out of jail, 1st and foremost.
[00:10:02] Unknown:
But here's my prediction. He hasn't said anything about Julian Assange yet, has he? I predict in October, he will drop a bombshell and say that he will pardon Julian Assange. That's
[00:10:16] Unknown:
that's the bet that I'm making. We'll see if it plays out. Okay. On to the other big news that happened, Thursday after I completed, was it 3rd? No. Wednesday after I completed the show, and I didn't do it on Friday because I took the kids out to a ranch, as part of their high quality education. I just I just stole them away from from the school system for the day and and gave them a real education out at a ranch. Anyway, right after like, somewhere around Thursday, the Ethereum ETFs got approved in an abrupt SEC policy about face. Decrypt brings it to you via Sander Lutz, writing, in a stunning, stunning, I say stunning reversal, the US Securities and Exchange Commission announced on Thursday that it has approved not 1, not 2, but 8 applications for spot Ethereum ETFs, effectively greenlighting a theory Ethereum trading on Wall Street. The following funds have been approved in the filing.
The converted grayscale Ethereum trust, the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, iShares Ethereum Trust, VanEck Ethereum Trust, Arc 21 Share Shares Ethereum ETF, Invesco Galaxy Galaxy Ethereum ETF, Fidelity Ethereum Fund, and Franklin Ethereum ETF. So the guys that are not on that list are the guys that are probably already struggling with their Bitcoin product because nobody's buying it from them directly. It doesn't mean that Grayscale is not getting money for Bitcoin and Ishares clearly is getting money for Bitcoin, but these are the guys that are kinda rising to the top. The sad one is the Bitwise Ethereum ETF. Of course, this is all sad because this is a security.
This is an unregistered security. It passes the Howey test with flying colors, and yet with no registration activity whatsoever, Gary Gensler just folded like the cheap suit that he is again and said, hey, grandma and grandpa, I know you don't understand this product and you probably never will spit put in the time to be able to understand this product. But here, here you go. We'll give it to you so that you can get scammed by the Ethereum crowd. And if you're listening and you're a Ethereum fan, you might as well go ahead and shut this show off because I am never I'm never gonna pull a sailor and say, oh, well, maybe it's not so bad. No. This is bad.
This is the this is the release of a scam product onto retail and it's just terrible because all these people are really doing at this point is making Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin even richer than they already were. Through no action of their own. They're just sitting there doing nothing. Whatever. When will these just dastardly products begin trading? Well, it won't be tomorrow. Bloom Bloomberg ETF expert James Seifert suggested in a tweet that it could be a couple of weeks before the fund managers s one documents are approved to enable trading. Just 1 week ago, most financial experts and crypto industry leaders had written off such an outcome as increasingly unlikely. And for 1, the SEC had offered little indication that it planned to move forward with any ETH ETF applications.
What's more, just weeks prior, a lawsuit filed by Ethereum software company, Consensus, against the SEC alleged that the regulator had secretly considered Ethereum to be an illegal unregistered security for over a year. If the SEC formally labeled ETH a security, then Ethereum ETFs would need to be approved via a different process than the one currently underway. Yeah. You'd actually have to go through the entire realm of getting this thing a registered security. And that's all I mean, if they wanna go that route, fine. Okay? But at least there's at least there's more disclosure than what we already have on this dumbass product being released to retail. There's a lot of registered securities that aren't worth their salt, but at least they took the time to go do it.
That I mean, honestly, it's this is ridiculous. Thus, in approving spot Ethereum ETFs today, the SEC has tacitly considered that ETH is not a security in and of itself. Such an outcome is a major victory for crypto advocates, scammers, given e t given ETH's crucial role in underpinning pending the Ethereum network upon which many of the industry's most prominent projects and services are built, and they're not worth shit. Crucially, however, in a bid to get over the finish line, several ETH ETF issuers dropped language from their applications this week regarding the staking of customers ETH.
Ever since Ethereum transitioned to a proof of stake system in September of 2022 Ethereum holders have been able to deposit their funds with the network to accrue rewards. The SEC has long taken the view that when a financial intermediary offers staking services, it is engaging in illegally unregistered securities schemes. Spot Ethereum ETFs, unlike futures ETFs, which track derivatives contracts and were approved by the SEC back in October, involve issuers actually buying and storing Ethereum on behalf of their clients. I know. I'm I'm saying Ethereum when I should say ETH, but I don't care. Now that the Spot ETH ETFs have gained approval, traditional financial institutions and investors will soon be able to gain exposure to ETH without holding any crypto themselves.
That's right. You hold this crap and we'll hold it for you. You don't have to hold it. We'll we'll take this obvious scam product, and we'll hold that scam for you in your name. For god's sakes, today's historic action follows the SEC's approval of 11 spot bitcoin ETFs. Yeah. We know. Quote, I always called the spot bitcoin ETF approvals bitcoin's IPO. Cody Carbone, chief policy officer at the Crypto Group Digital Chamber of Commerce, told Decrypt, this is ETH's IPO. And that's a massive stamp of approval. No. What it is is they just open the door for every scammer for every scammer.
This sets a precedent that you can take what is clearly a security. And without going to the registration process, you can offer this shit to retail. So I'm formally announcing Davecoin. You can buy my coin for a buck a piece. And there will be 10,000,000 of them on day 1, which will be maybe tomorrow. I don't know. It'll they're easy to spin up. We were spinning them up. There was a website you could spin up stupid ass coins, whatever you wanted to. You could throw whatever its issuance rate was, whatever its total cap was gonna be, if there was gonna be a cap, whatever the pre mined coins were, like, I could just pre mine 70,000,000, so one for a buck, and then all of a sudden my stash is worth $70,000,000, which I would then donate to charity and take a $70,000,000 tax credit for the rest of my freaking days. Because that's how fine art works. That's right. You go find some dildo down on the beach and he paints you a picture. You go to your buddy who's a friend of yours that appraises art, he appraises it at $24,000,000.
You donate it to a charity or to a hospital or a university and you can put that as a tax credit. $24,000,000 worth of charitable donation on your tax return. That's how this shit works. But Dave coin is coming And it's gonna I think I'm just gonna offer you a 123% day over day yield. Because now, with the s e c doing what they just did, anybody can apparently offer anything to retail with no repercussions at all. That's how stupid this really is. But before I get too fired up, let's tone it back down, get back to Bitcoin with Bitcoin Mining Marathon.
Digital signs a deal with Kenya to invest in okay. I'm probably gonna get hot on this one. Green energy projects. Oh, boy. CoinDesk, Christian Sandor is writing, bitcoin mining company marathon digital Friday with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Kenya is striking a deal to develop the African country's energy infrastructure with over $80,000,000 in investments. The aim of the partnership is monetizing underutilized energy across Kenya and jointly developing technology projects, Marathon chief executive officer Fred Teal said. And pausing to say, not a fan of Marathon Digital. They're kind of they're kind of boot lickers.
Right? So I think they're all spooks, but they they are here. In a social media post, the company said that the investment will be in green data centers. Marathon also noted in a press release that the capital will include foreign investments without specifying the source of funds. Quote, with projected foreign investments expected to exceed $80,000,000 this venture is poised to deliver economic benefits to the Kenyan economy and earlier this earlier this month with the nation to help manage its renewable energy operations and advise on its digital asset regulatory regime.
Renewable energy is Kenya's main power source responsible for 80% of all electrics electricity generation in 2022 with plans to increase its share to a 100% by the end of the decade. However, renewable energy sources like solar and wind are intermittent, meaning that they don't produce energy when most of the consumption happens. Infrastructure building for renewable energy is capital intensive and requires a power management system to store and distribute energy properly. Under the agreement, Marathon and Kenyan policymakers will cooperate to better understand how to optimize renewable energy projects that produce surplus energy due to intermittency and seasonal variations, the press release said.
Marathon shares traded 6% higher at around $21 on Friday for yesterday's close, outperforming BTC's 1% advance over the past 24 hours. Yeah. Because we're still everybody's still waiting for the Fed to lower the rates. No. Seriously. They're seriously waiting for the Fed to lower the rate the the federal fund rate. Not gonna happen. Hold on. Cops time.
[00:21:08] Unknown:
Green energy from Marathon, no less. These guys don't trust them. And this and these guys being involved in Africa just gives me the willies
[00:21:21] Unknown:
because I don't think they're there to help Kenya. I don't think they're there for to green the earth. I that's I just consider that straight up bullshit automatically, and I honestly think you should too. So now back across the Atlantic, let's go over to Argentina and see what kind of stupid shit we can find there. Helen Parks, Cointelegraph, Argentina aims to learn from El Salvador's Bitcoin success. Yeah. Well, let's see. The government of Argentina is working with El Salvador to learn from its experience of Bitcoin adoption. Argentina's securities regulator, the National Securities Commission, held a meeting with El Salvador's National Commission on Digital Assets to address crypto adoption and regulation in the two countries according to the official announcement.
At the meeting, on May 23rd, CNV president Roberto Silva, CNV vice president Patricia Boedo, and CNAD president Juan Carlos Reyes discussed El Salvador's experience in being the 1st country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender. The officials exchanged approaches and concepts of cryptocurrency use in global economies, particularly focusing on El Salvador's bitcoin case. Cnv president Silva stressed that El Salvador has not only emerged as a global leader in bitcoin adoption, but has also excelled in the broader broader cryptocurrency industry.
He highlighted the importance of industry insights discovered by Cnad, which oversees and regulates the digital asset market in El Salvador and Silva stated quote, we want to strengthen ties with the Republic of El Salvador and therefore we are going to explore the possibility of signing collaboration agreements with them. End quote. CNV vice president, Boedo, who visited El Salvador to participate in meetings on market development in March, emphasized the crucial role of El Salvador's expertise in the crypto industry. Quote, Argentina is a pioneer in technology and the National Securities Commission understands and wants to work with the industry efficiently and create appropriate regulation, El Salvador's official Reyes said.
The news comes amid Argentina moving forward with regulating the local cryptocurrency market and passing registration requirements for crypto firms in April. The country has been actively moving into cryptocurrency since bitcoin friendly politician Javier Mele became Argentina's president in late 2023. In late 2023, Argentina's foreign affairs minister, Diana Mondino, claimed that the government was preparing a decree to legalize the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the country for payments under certain conditions. So Argentina's cozying up to El Salvador.
Well, who's in El Salvador? Well, Max and his wife. I can't remember her name. Wow. Max Kiser.
[00:24:23] Unknown:
Hold on for a second. I gotta pause. Noisy neighbor. Sorry. Window was open. Okay. So
[00:24:30] Unknown:
Max Kiser and his wife, and I can't cannot for the life of me remember her name right now. They're down there. P Paulo Ardoino and his company is down there. You got Samson Moe. He's down there. He's doing he's been doing a lot of work. Actually, I think he's like some kind of, like, official adviser to, the president of El Salvador at this point. So what am I saying? The reason Argentina's cozying up to El Salvador is because the people that have kind of glommed on to El Salvador and many of these people very, very much know how this shit works and what's going on. They're they have given in a way, they've given El Salvador a boost, like, sort of put them in a booster chair because their El Salvador now gets to leverage off of a whole bunch of foreign nationals and foreign companies that have come in because they agreed with the movement that El Salvador was making and wanted to be a part of it. I think that part's legit. I think that's from the heart.
[00:25:34] Unknown:
But make no mistake,
[00:25:37] Unknown:
these people that are in El Salvador that are siding with the president of El Salvador are going to dig in like ticks. And if they're not careful, there it's just going to be the same suit speaking bullshit that that gave us the Federal Reserve, the World Bank, and the IMF. Not immediately, but if somehow or another they don't check themselves or we don't check themselves for them, then in 80 years, we're just gonna have the same mess on our hands. So be very careful with the people that are supporting El Salvador and are there, their I think their hearts were in the right place, but those hearts can become black. That's all I'm saying is that we just we've gotta watch out. We gotta be careful, because I'm sure that the people at the Federal Reserve, when they were first spinning that up, weren't necessarily just pure evil. I think it became that way, and I don't think their intentions were the best, but I don't think that they were just rubbing their hands together and twisting their mustaches going, I'm gonna I'm gonna tie her up and put her on some railroad tracks.
Yeah. Let's run the numbers. CNBC Futures and Commodities. They got West Texas Intermediate up a buck and change to, I don't know, $78.66 cents. Brent Norcia is up 1.12% to 83 bucks. Natural gas is up a quarter percent to $2.52. Gasoline is up 1.14% to $2.51. Expect gas prices to rise because summer's coming on. Today marks the beginning of summer. Like, not technically. That's the summer solstice or or summer I don't know. I can't remember. It's June 21st or, June 21st is is specifically the 1st day of summer, but Memorial Day, this marks the beginning of barbecue season. It marks the beginning of summer. It it marks the beginning of summer vacations, which means driving. And every year, the same shit happens. Right around this time, no matter what oil prices are doing, gas prices rise. Just be careful out there.
Gold is up a percent to the $2355.80. Silver is up, wow, almost 5% to 31, almost $32. Wow. That's amazing. Platinum is up 2a half. Copper is up 1a half. Palladium is up damn near 3%. Ag, well, none none of it's trading. Somehow or another, coffee is our biggest winner at 1.21% to the upside. Lumber is down 1.68%, but everything else is pretty much unchanged because, you know, hey, Memorial Day. So somebody explain to me how commodities are being traded because I thought markets were closed today. Somebody help me. I help me. Help me. Because even live cattle is up in the green 0.14%, but lean hogs are down 0.15%.
Feeder cattle are down damn near a half point. And again, the Dow is up right now 0.15%. But I I mean, it's the only one trading. I've got green numbers for the S and P, Nasdaq, and s and p mini, but I don't see how they're trading because it's supposed to be closed. Right? Very confusing. $70,000 nope. $70,060 on a bitcoin gives us a $1,380,000,000,000 market cap, you can now purchase almost 30 ounces. It's 29.7 ounces of shiny metal rocks with your one bitcoin, of which there are 19,704,000, a 161.74 of. And average fees per block are hovering around 0.16btcperblock.
And speaking of blocks, what is mempool dot space telling us? A 181 blocks carrying almost 200,000 unconfirmed transactions waiting to clear at high priority rates of a measly 13 satoshis per v byte. Low priorities get you in at 11, and anything under 4 gonna be purged from impulse around the world. Had a spike in mining, a little while ago, but we're back down to 545.4 exahashes per second. But I saw I saw 720 exahashes per second since the last time we spoke, dear listener. Now on to panderbear, which was episode 900 of bitcoin and nat gas immersion with a 121,333 Satoshis.
Now that's a boost. Proud to dox myself as the latest BSF customer. Thank you, sir. No. Thank you. And I do believe he's talking about buying Black Soldier Fly, BSF, black soldier fly, BSFL, black soldier fly larva. I think that's what you're talking about, Natgas. Let me know for this show. The Bitcoin potter with 9,000 says, keep sending the signal. Congrats on episode 900. Dad joke. Oh, how do you make holy water? You boil the hell out of it. Thank you, sir. No. No. Thank you. That's a great joke. DeBravco, who will sell you black soldier fly larvae. Hey.
If a politician cannot pander to their base, then this country is going to hell in a handbasket. I'll tell you what. That boy ain't right. And that was 41760 sats. God's death with 327 says thank you, sir. No. Thank you. Username 404 with a 100 23 says, welcome to the panderverse. Lol. Great show. But we will have to wait and see. Damn right. Nostra gang with a 100 says, roaring quitty. Yes. He did. He pretty much quit just as as he came back to life. Pies finishes us out with a 100. Thank you, sir. No. Thank you. And that's your weather report. Welcome to part 2 of the news you can use in a reminder.
This show lives and breathes on on donations. So if you would like me to continue doing what it is that I do and bring this to to you at least 3 times a week, and I'm hoping that I can ramp that back up, donate to the show. A 122,000 satoshis from nat gas immersion was badass. That's the kind that's the kind of boost that I'm looking for. And if you can't do that, then tell people about the show. Jet, that's free. You could do that without any money, or you can stream satoshis at, like, you know, 5, 10, 25. I have some people that boost or stream this show at 49 satoshis per minute. Man, all of it helps. All of it helps. It's bought me an entire recording rig that I can go mobile with.
And I've been talking to some ranchers. I think I got I think that's gonna start up pretty soon, but I'm gonna wait and call all these guys, tomorrow because today is Memorial Day, and they deserve a break too. Alright. So first up today is that I got this weird message from, Get Albie, because I use the Get Albie extension in my Chrome browser. And it says, and I'll I'll read it to you verbatim when you get back up here. You are using the old lnd hub setup. Please reconnect your Albie account to get access to the latest features. And it's got a link that I go to and I end up at guides.getalby.com, which I never existed and is really a nice looking setup.
However, it's a bit confusing. So what's going on? 2 days or actually now it's 3 days ago. As far as I can tell, about 3 days ago, they want everybody to move away from what we have been using, this old LND hub that they're using, to this new thing. However, and I've told the guys at GetAlBI, the instructions that they're giving and the pictures that they show and their screenshots of what shit should look like is not happening on my computer. And I, you know, before I really mess around with this hardcore, I need to get my satoshis off. But, also, for all the rest of you guys, if you're using getAlby and you're having any trouble whatsoever, you're, like, confused about something or there's something that doesn't look right between their instructions versus, you know, what you see on your computer screen, please let the Get Albie guys know. They're very, very responsive, both, both on Twitter or dead bird and on Noster, which is where I do most of my business. They got to me pretty much within, like, a couple of hours when I asked them a question about it. So we are going to have to move to this new setup. At one point or another, they're probably just gonna say, hey, you know, a week from now, we're just gonna shut it down. I don't know. That's my gut feeling, but they want us on this new infrastructure.
To the Get Alby guys, I will try to take screenshots and let you know what it is I'm seeing and how that differs from what you're showing me in your guide. However, if you're using GetAlBI and you haven't checked it, like, go hit the extension. If you get that message, give it a shot. And if you get any kind of confusion, not only let get Albie know, let me know, you know, just tag me in, like, whatever note you're sending to get Albie, just tag me in it so that I can see what your issue is. Because it may just be me because I'm on a much older operating system and that may be the the whole deal, but this change to get Albi is coming, so be aware. Now on to Zapad, zapaddot com, that's zapad.com.
Zapvertising, it's a zapvertising website. You can advertise on Nasr with Zaps. Now this was Walker's, idea a long time ago, like last year. He came up with this notion of zappertizing. He wrote a pretty good blog post about it. And it's kind of been coming in and out and in and out. Well, this I don't know who developed this, but there's this thing you can just, like, just pull up your browser and go to zapadd.com. That's zapadd. And what it allows you to do is it gives you a nice little oh, what am I trying to say? It gives you a nice little interface that connects like, I I was able to log into it with my with my git albie, right, Extension on my browser. So that made it really, really easy, and all of a sudden my wallet's connected to this zapad.com.
And what I can do is I have right now
[00:36:44] Unknown:
well, let's let's just let let let's
[00:36:46] Unknown:
read what they have to say about it. Bitcoin business, try Nostr Zapvertising. We find the highest quality Nostr notes for you to Zapvertize, and they have 3 basic flavors there's a button that says Trending Notes you can discover popular, high quality notes as determined by the community through the number of zaps, likes, and comments. Okay. So let's say I hit the button trending notes. It has a little bar that says budget in sats, and I can set a budget like 5,000 sats. I wanna zapvertize with no more than 5,000 zaps. And then I can log in with Albie, like I said, and there there's a button there for it.
And then they are going to want more money, more Satoshis than you're putting up for your budget for their time, and this is okay. In fact, it says that I with 5,124 satoshis for all the trending notes, there are 244 notes available for zapping. And that works out and it does the math for you. Zap per note, 21 satoshis. There is a delivery fee of 1,205 satoshis. Wait. 1,000 no. Sorry. 1,025 satoshis. So that's for that's for them. They just get that. Right? Not for each note, because what's due with the invoice that they're gonna generate for me is going to be for 6,149 satoshis and then the rest of that budget, 5,124, is going to go to zap 244 notes. Now here's the issue. Well, let's let's do this first. There's trending notes. There's known zappers, which are plebs that have zapped before, and they are considered known zappers. So if I hit that button let me go to to won't you start zapperizing.
Let's go to known zappers, and it's actually oh, wait a minute. I gotta log in with Albie first. Hold on. Let me make sure that I get that done. Okay. So now I'm logged in, and I'm going to set the minimum budget to 5,000. And my the my selected target for the next 24 hours is known zappers. And I I don't know what that means by when he says target notes 24 over hours. I'm not sure what he means. If you're listening, please let us know. We need better instructions is what I'm getting at. But I'm gonna say 5,000 or 5 yeah. 5000 satoshis, and it's not gonna let me do that.
The known zappers, there's, 1247 notes under the group of known zappers, and I guess that's what he means by 24 hours. Over this 24 hour period, the known zappers in that 24 hours represents 1247 possible notes. It looks like my minimum zapping amount is 21 satoshis. So therefore, I need to pony up 26,187 satoshis and the fee is gonna be 13,094 satoshis, so So the invoice is gonna be written for 39,281 satoshis, and then there's a pay button. Now in this window is a message little a little box that says message with a maximum of a 160 characters. That's where you put your zapvertising message, like, like, come listen to the Bitcoin and podcast and then, I don't know, throw in, like, a link, like, a tiny URL.
Or just say, here's my email address, throw me an email and buy my shit. Or whatever it is, your message. But what happens if I go to high zappers let's see what that says. It's it's taking a while to okay. So there's 1,050 and the zap on 26,000. Let's see if I can set that to 5,000 and see what that does. Nope. It's not gonna let me. It wants at least 22,000 for that one. If I go to trending notes and let's see if I can set my budget to 5,000. Satoshis. Yeah. It did. I can zap, 112 notes. That's 45 satoshis per zap. Delivery fee is 25100 and, so my invoice is going to be 75100 satoshis.
But what it will do is it will automate the process of going and finding these particular notes and zapping 45 satoshis to each note. Now, this is great and all, but if you're not, like, as far as, like, let's say, primal interface, you can see the top zap on on all the notes. And that one will actually read the full message if you actually left a message by any means whatsoever whether you're zapvertising or you're just using your Albi Wallet directly. Doesn't matter. If you've left a message, the top zapper for that note will be on there.
So if I zap 45 to a whole bunch of people and only one of them, I beat like the like the mat like, there's one note out of a 112 notes that I zapped at 45 satoshis per note, then if one note if all the rest of them have zaps over 45, nobody's going to see my message. The only one that will will be any any zap that I top. Any note where I'm the top zapper will be the only way you'll be able to actually see that I've got a full message like listen to bitcoin and. So what I recommend for the guys at Zapat is that as they're running through and pulling out the zappertizable notes on, like, let's say, the trending notes, then you need to make sure that you're only pulling out the notes that I can afford to be the top zap on. Does that make sense?
So, like, if there's, like, a 100 notes that are trending notes that that are zappertizable notes, like, they've got a lightning wallet and they're good to go, they're all set up because this thing did all the checking for you,
[00:42:57] Unknown:
then if I put in a budget of 5,000
[00:43:02] Unknown:
and that means that the zap per possible or the possible zap per note is 45 on all of them, it needs to go back and recalculate and say, okay. Well, how many of these notes have less than 45 satoshis as their top zap? And then recalculate and still spend that 5,000. But now on all the notes that I can be, I will be the top zapper. See? That's the way that that shit should go. Otherwise, most of this is just a waste of time. Now, for those of you that hate zapvertising, I don't know what to do for you. Advertising happens. There are people out there that that have goods and services that you might actually want, but you will never hear about them if you never listen to any advertising whatsoever, which is why I started the Circle p. I'm actually a fan of zapvertising, and I don't think we should get our panties all in a twist. At least I'm paying the person to, you know, advertise for me. I you know, you're never gonna see that model in in regular podcasting or Twitter or anything like that shit.
But moving on to Pablo f seven z's Wikipedia, He's released version 0.0.7 with an improved editor, mentions, and nicer URLs. So if you don't know Wikipedia, Wiki Free dia, free dia, Wiki Free dia, is a Nostril based alternative to Wikipedia. And it has an improved editor, mentions support, reactions for soft indications of agreement or disagreements within entries. It's no longer using deprecated partial pub key matches. It includes links to other versions of the same topic at the end of an entry and nicer u r l's. So, yeah. Well, I wanna get into that one. But if you haven't used wikifredia you need to go check it out wikifredia is at wikifredia.xyz That's wikifredia.xyz.
Wiki, f r e e d I a dot x y z. If you're looking for a Wiki pedia replacement, this is it. But it's only going to work if we actually take part of it. So that again is Pablo f 7 z, you know, because he just doesn't sleep. Huddl Huddl has blocked United States users from accessing its lending platform. United States residents and citizens are persona non grata and will not be able to access LINS services at hoddlehoddle, announced the company. Quote, after careful consideration, we have decided to implement a stricter policy on allowed countries for our services.
As part of this change, our lending platform, lend, at hodlhodl, will be blocked from users from the USA and several other countries announced hodlhodl in a blog post. Quote, existing users of lend at hodlhodl can finalize their current loans but will not be able to engage in new ones starting today. End quote. When it comes to the company's peer to peer trading marketplace, the company reiterated that it never served the United States customer in the first place. I repeat, HODL HODL has apparently never served the US. Although, I have access to Huddl Huddles via Tor and, you know, VPN. But let's leave let's leave that alone.
Let's leave that alone for a second. Here's another company that is kinda running scared. And half of me doesn't wanna blame them and the other half wants to say stop being a pussy. And, honestly, since it's not my bacon in the frying pan, I kinda can't say the second one. I understand why they wanna get out of the United States. Why would you wanna engage with a United States citizen in any kind of business capacity whatsoever with the band of yahoos we've got in Washington DC? But let's continue, quote, HODL HODL will continue to focus on the global community, you know, those of you who don't suck with the highest standards, particularly prioritizing users in emerging markets. Yeah. We're gonna be left behind, ladies and gentlemen.
Emerging markets is always where it's been at, but now now they don't have the IMF to squash them like a little bug as these emerging markets are coming up because there's an exit port. There's an exit. And you know, Christine Lagarde, when she thinks about exits, god forbid you give them an exit because they might actually use it. That's what she said. She said that in an interview. If you give them an exit, they will use it. And she was talking about central banking. That was the context. In either event, we encourage all users to review their latest version of the terms and service to see a list of allowed countries. Now here's the funny part.
Here's the list of countries that are blocked from the lens service. The United States of America,
[00:48:05] Unknown:
Cuba, North Korea, Iraq,
[00:48:09] Unknown:
Iran, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Puerto Rico, or any state, country, territory, or other jurisdiction that is embargoed by the United Nations. They really? The United States citizen is like, we might as well be Cuba or North Korea. We're North Koreans. We're North Koreans. That's what we are. When it comes to people who who want to do business globally, they look at you. If you're a United States citizen and you're listening to this, they look at you as an Iranian, a North Korean, a Cuban, an Iraqi, a Somalian, Syrian, Sudanese.
All of these countries have deep, deep, deep issues with some very seriously problematic shit going on in their countries that is not good. And we just got lumped in with all of them. So I put it to you. Is it possible that I can engage in a class action lawsuit with you, other United States citizens, to sue the Department of Justice, the FBI, the SEC, the CFTC, and anybody else that has done their business to the point that nobody wants to do business with me because my character has been defamed through no action of my own. Can I sue the United States government for defamation of character in a class action lawsuit?
Because I guarantee you, I think that's what this shit's gonna come come down to. I'm embarrassed. I am embarrassed that nobody wants to do business with me as a United States citizen, And I didn't do anything on my own to make that shit happen. This happened for me. This was a decision made by the SEC, the Federal Reserve Bank, Jerome Powell, Janet Yellen, any various presidents of the United States, nobody wants to do business with me. I think that's legally actionable, honestly. But let's move on to Bisk, who is doing something different. Version 2.0.4 offer book list and tour improvements instead of tucking their tails between their legs and running, they're just making improvements.
BISC 2 is the successor of BISC version 1. It has been developed from the ground up to support trade protocols, networks, and identities via a single decentralized exchange platform. As a result of relentless effort on BIST 2, we are thrilled to announce the release of our latest version 2.0.4. These improvements are part of bisque's ongoing efforts to provide a secure, efficient, and user friendly platform for trading bitcoin without relying on central authorities. And for a detailed list, you can click here and that will be in the show notes. It's here is a is a link, clearly. There's, offer book list and market list are collapsible. There's a whole bunch of other stuff, and they've made the UI look very, very pretty. But the most important thing here is they've got a new version of bisk 2.
It's a way to buy bitcoin without k y c. It works over tor and they're not telling United States citizenry to go get bit. Because it's pretty much you wanna use this with VPN or Tor and or both. I don't know. I mean, I what a nightmare v p Tor running over VPN must be. But in either event, Bisk, it seems, is not actually putting pen to paper and making an announcement that they're going to run and hide from the United States baddies. Although, I, again, I kinda can't blame them. And last up is Carnage. Carnage is one of, if not the only developer, of zap.stream, which I'm not streaming to right now because I figured everybody's out on a boat, on a lake, or at a barbecue.
He says, in case anyone missed this or it was not obvious, zap.stream now has regular video support. That means it acts like YouTube or Flare. Pub. Soon you'll be able to upload videos and start channels basically branded in pubs. It's still a work in progress and some things are not functional, but check back often. So if you didn't hear it, zap. Stream now functions a little bit more like YouTube where instead of only stuff that you're streaming live goes to, you can now upload videos. And there I mean, Carnage is working as fast as he can and it's gonna come together, but zap.stream is providing a complete alternative to YouTube. And thank god, it couldn't have come too soon from a nicer guy, and that's gonna do it for the morning

Dad says jokes. I tripped over my wife's bra. It was a booby trap.
[00:53:22] Unknown:
Get it? Alright. Where are we at? Alright. So the Trump thing, I I really don't know if he's gonna if he would release Ross or if it's just a flat out lie to get votes. I don't know.
[00:53:37] Unknown:
I'm pretty much used to all politicians no matter what their party or no matter what their past just straight up lying to me just to get my vote. And then once they've got my vote, they don't give a shit. The Ethereum thing, I don't even know what to say about that. That's just the amount of scamming that's going to occur now because the precedent has been set that retail is just basically a sitting duck and the SEC does not give a shit, which means their mandate is pretty much done for. Right? I mean, the SEC was essentially designed from the ground up to try to keep scammers at bay. Like I said, there are some things that have been done where people's hearts were in the right place.
They just became darker over time. But now, at this point, I don't even know why we have why even have it as secur a securities and exchange commission? Anybody anywhere can spin up anything. They can pre mine it. They can, say it was, like, valued at a dollar so that their their their stake is now $70,000,000. They can do what they can sell to retail. They could sell it to grandma. They can sell it to a 4 year old. It it doesn't matter, man. You're you're you're just a menu of shit to order from for anybody who wants to sell you anything because apparently at this point American public and the world's public is just too freaking stupid to understand just what Ethereum actually is. It's a scam. Don't fall for it.
And Marathon, well, it's screw Marathon, but Argentina and El Salvador cozying up.
[00:55:09] Unknown:
I think it's technically my gut feeling. I think it's good. Watch out for the bad shit that happens on the backside when people want to defend their nest. And I'm talking about, like, well, Tether, honestly.
[00:55:26] Unknown:
That's what I'm talking about. Tether's down there. They are hardcore down there. They dug in like a tick pretty much from day 1 after Bukele said that they were gonna start accepting Bitcoin as a legal as legal tender for the country. Alright. So watch out. Do not let these people you know, don't just give them a pass because they're famous or they're Bitcoiners or they're Tethers or whatever, man. I mean, honestly, you need to watch them like a hawk. God knows I will be, and I will see you on the other side. This has been Bitcoin, and and I'm your host, David Bennett. I hope you enjoyed today's episode and hope to see you again real soon.
Have a great day.
Concerns about doing business as a United States citizen
