Good morning. This is David Bennett, and this is Bitcoin and, a podcast where I try to find the edge effect between the worlds of Bitcoin, gaming, permaculture, podcasting, and education to gain a better understanding of all. Edge effect is a concept from ecology describing a greater diversity of life where the edges of 2 systems overlap. While species from either system can be found at the edge, it is important to note there are species in the overlap that exist in neither system, and that is what I seek to uncover. Uncover. So join me in discovering the variety of things being created as Bitcoin rubs up against other systems. It is 9:14 AM Pacific Daylight Time? Yeah. It is. It is the 1st day of July 2024.
You know what that means. We're exactly 1 halfway through this year. 6 months in the bag. Think about that. 6 months already gone. Already gone. And it's probably it probably feels even faster for those people who have allowed themselves to become distracted by bullshit Utter and complete nonsense. Like, oh, I don't know certain presidential debates that are going on. It doesn't really matter. It's all hooey, and we're not gonna talk about a damn part of it today. Thank you very much. Today, the Circle P is open for business. And your Circle P vendor today, well, he sells comfrey, and his name is Shee Shee. You can get a hold of him at Sheeshi21m over on Nostr.
I will provide his inpub with a direct link so that you can get directly to him through a nostril client. A little bit about nostril here in a second. Email is she she, s h I s h I, by the way. That's she she, s h I s h I [email protected]. You'll get to him slower, but he will get to you. He sells comfrey, my favorite plant. And I have also provided a link in the show notes directly in the circle p part or portion of the show notes, to a an entire show that I did about the benefits of conferee because if I start talking about conferee right now it's not gonna happen. Or I mean, it's just we'll be here for for freaking ever, but you can get 1 full root for $20. You can get a root or several root cuttings for a dollar each and I highly recommend getting 20 of them.
You're gonna pay shipping. Right? So it's not that you get these roots and you go, what the hell do I do with it? You get these roots and you plant them hopefully somewhere where it's part shade, part sun. Again, I go through everything in the show that I did on specifically on comfrey. It is in the show notes. I had an accident the other day on a brand new bicycle. I I'm a Flatlander. I grew up in Flatlands. There's no such thing as hills where I was born and where I spent the better part of my life. Now I'm here in Eastern Washington where there are some pretty ugly hills. I bought a new bike, was riding my bike, coming down a hill.
Brakes were not set properly. I almost drove headlong into traffic, and the only way that I was going to be able to stop myself is well I put my draped my leg which was not in jeans no no no no it was I was wearing shorts because it was hot draped my leg over my back wheel at full speed and got essentially tire rash all over my leg. Now, if I had comfrey, I would have made a poultice and I would have spread it on there and I would have wrapped it up with, like, an ACE bandage or something like that and let it heal because that's what Confre is the best at. It does a lot of other stuff but healing scrapes and abrasions and bruises and stuff like that, Confrey excels at.
Again, listen to the show. I've got it in the link in the show notes. It goes through everything that you need to know about Confrey and you can buy your comfrey from she she 21m. He is the Circle p vendor of the day. Now, let's get into the news. Actually let's not let's talk about nostril just a little bit there's been quite a few people that are really getting serious about Nostra, and I'm not talking about the developers. I'm talking about people that use Nostra on a daily basis like my friend Uno here who's down here in the zap. Stream. How you doing, Uno? I appreciate you being here today. Good morning to you, sir.
People like Eliza Blue, I don't know if you know who she is. I did not know who she was until she started using Nostra, and I started looking into her background going, holy crap. She's been around in, like, doing stuff and creating content for a long long time and she has fully embraced Noster. Alex Gladstein, who you probably do know of, he's over there at the Human Rights Foundation, he's been, committing almost like he's he's committing almost terrorist activities over on on Twitter by siphoning off people to come over to Noster, and he's doing it in some very, very interesting ways. So that prompted me, that did. That prompted me to well, I I named the whole thing operation siphon. And I'm starting to give examples of how it is that we don't delete okay here's the thing to delete your Twitter account or not to delete your Twitter account that is the question that preoccupies my people sir right here's here's my not my advice. This is my stance.
If you have a Twitter account and you have followers, if I were you, I would not delete your Twitter account in some kind of protest. And it's not that for the people that do, more power to you, brothers and sisters. That's fine. I I get it. I'm I'm totally good with that. But people like Eliza Blue and Alex Gladstein and and the rest of you guys that have some, you know, anywhere between decent followership all the way up to, like, Alex Gladstein level where you've got thousands of people and Eliza Blue who has, I believe, thousands of followers herself. There's a way to leverage your connection to Twitter to bring people over to Nostra.
I you can just search in 1 of the Nostra clients for operation siphon, you know, to siphon off things. I've got 3 examples of how we could possibly do things like providing partial content. If you're a content provider and somehow or another you want to help me do commit operation siphon then provide only partial amounts of your content on Twitter and then give them a link to the full thing, almost like a paywall, but you're not actually charging anything. You're just asking them to invest their time to click a link that is a nostril link to the full note of which you only provided partiality to on Twitter.
Just do that. See what happens. You see what happens. We don't have to drag people kicking and screaming. We can get them hooked over on Nas or on Twitter, and we can provide them a link or some other way to bring them over to see the rest of the story that we've got on Noster. It's sort of like a pseudo paywall, so that's sort of the way that I'm thinking about Operation Siphon. So hashtag Operation Siphon. Do your worst. Get out there and, you know, mess some stuff up today. Alright. Bitcoin Magazine, we're getting into the news. Vivek Sin is writing, Sony, Sony's in the news, a $105, 000, 000, 000 electronics giant Sony is going to launch a brand spanking new Bitcoin exchange.
Yeah. Sony, a Bitcoin exchange. Telling you, man, it's it's a virus, mined virus. Sony Group is preparing to launch a Bitcoin and crypto exchange in Japan after acquiring Amber Group's local subsidiary, Amber Japan. The revamped exchange will be called s.blocks with an x. Oh, god. And aims to boost Sony's presence in the Bitcoin and crypto space. Sony purchased Amber Japan in 2023 through its subsidiary, QuettaWeb. Amber Japan was originally known as Decurate before Singapore based Amber Group took over the Japanese exchange all the way back in 2022. Yeah. 2 years ago.
Sony has rebranded its acquired exchange as SBLOX to and plans to upgrade its user interface and mobile apps significantly. The exact launch date remains unannounced. The move reflects Sony's growing push into Bitcoin and crypto by leveraging the Amber Japan Exchange. Sony can capitalize on its brand recognition and global reach to boost the adoption of its future Bitcoin and crypto offerings. Japan has emerged as a leading Bitcoin market due to proactive regulation and high consumer awareness, and this makes it an ideal place for Sony to debut and expand its services. Major corporations like Sony embracing Bitcoin and crypto signal wider mainstream momentum.
Sony's past acquisitions of companies like CBS Records and Columbia Pictures has transformed it from an electronics firm into a global media titan. Its latest acquisition could spark a similar evolution for Bitcoin. Okay. Sony. Let's talk just a little bit about what Sony is and what it was. Sony Walkman. Any of you remember the Walkman? They use they made MP 3 players as well. They've they made Betamaxes and VCRs and and stereos for both your home audio, car audio, you name it, man. Sony has been in your life at 1 point or another, some way or another. And over the last few years, they have really changed what they look like.
They still do all the stuff. Right? But when they bought CBS Records and Columbia Pictures, Sony was almost instantaneously formed, like this piece says, into a media giant. And now they want to get into Bitcoin exchanges and crypto exchanges. We're seeing this marriage of media and Bitcoin continue apace. So beware. When we start adding media, media giants and all that kind of stuff, to almost anything, what do we have? The potential for a propaganda machine and that can turn either positive or negative really quickly. So that's I just wanted to make sure that we understood that we are talking about Sony. We are talking about a $105, 000, 000, 000 company. We are talking about the fact that they have transformed themselves into an entertainment industry or into the entertainment industry. And now they're going after bitcoin exchanges.
Interesting. I think it's a lot more interesting than people might give it credit for. Now Coinbase, oh, boy. Here we go. Coinbase will custody digital assets for, guess who, The United States Marshals Service. If you don't know, whenever any property is taken by anybody through the Department of Justice at the federal level, all of those assets are immediately held by the United States Marshals Service. Right? It's not held by the DOJ. Well, it's technically it is because the Marshals Service is part of the DOJ, but that's their that's where they keep all the stuff. So whenever they steal somebody's Bitcoin or if they actually, you know, buzz somebody doing something highly illegal, like, let's say, something that we all really have a problem with, like, I don't know, child trafficking or something like that. And they, you know, somehow or another get get their Bitcoin.
That 1 I don't have as much of a problem with, as juxtaposed to people, things like, Ross Ulbert who got shafted. Right? And they stole his property. And and he honestly, he didn't do anything wrong. And if you're 1 of the people that are listening to me that thinks that he did, you really need to go look at that story because I think what's happened is that you've been told a lie and you had no reason to go fact check that thing, and you might wanna do that to find out exactly what Silk Road was, all of the things that he'd sold. And if for whatever reason you're laboring under the situation that he, that you believe that he hired somebody to kill somebody else, that is not true.
That those charges were dropped in his case, while that case was ongoing before he was sentenced. Right? So that never happened. So if you're still laboring under this potential that Ross Ulbrich was some kind of, like, you know, murderous punk, that's not true. There's probably not a murderous bone in that boy's body. Anyway, the United States Marshals Service will use Coinbase Prime to custody certain digital assets as part of the law enforcement agency's responsibility to handle asset forfeiture. In a July 1st notice, Coinbase said that the United States Marshals Service has selected the exchange's institutional investing arm to provide custody and advanced trading services for large cap digital assets. The cryptocurrency exchange said that it would manage the assets centrally in support of the federal agency, which sometimes takes custody of crypto seized by the justice department. No. It pretty much always takes takes a hold of it, but whatever.
In, 2022, the office of the inspector general for the justice department released the result of an audit suggesting that the marshal service, quote, faced challenges in managing and tracking cryptocurrency. In March, the USMS reportedly began exploring contracts for companies to provide crypto custody services. So, the marshal service is finding themselves without somebody who really knows what they're doing. And at these prices, at and and the amount of Bitcoin that they now hold, they're offloading to Coinbase, who the very department of justice or or the least the SEC has said has been acting in illegal manners.
Yeah. Exactly. The very people that are accusing Coinbase, and I don't like Coinbase, but they are being accused of doing illegal activities, and we won't get into the list of them, but they are being accused of doing illicit activities in the crypto world and finance world by the United States government, that very same government has leaned on Coinbase not once to sell Marshall's service bitcoin, but now twice to become or to make this announcement that they are in fact going to be the cut the contractor that custodies the United States Marshals Service forfeited assets of Bitcoin and crypto nature.
Sounds like a conflict of interest to me. Whatever. Okay. Circle has snagged the first stablecoin license under the European Union's new Mica crypto rules. Oh, boy. Circle has become the 1st global stablecoin issuer to secure an electronic money institution license, a prerequisite to offering dollar and Europeg crypto tokens in the European Union under the markets and crypto assets or MICA regulatory framework. The license gives the company whose USDC trails behind rival Tether's market leading USDT poll position in grabbing market share among the 27 nation trading blocks 450, 000, 000 people. Stablecoins are a key piece of infrastructure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We know what a stablecoin is. Armed with a license from the French Banking Regulatory Authority, Circle Mint France will onshore the issuance of its euro denominated EURC stablecoin to the EU and issue USDC from the same entity, the company said, Before Micah's stablecoin rules took effect on June 30th, some crypto exchanges delisted euro denominated stablecoins such as Tether's EORT.
Micah's comprehensive stance on stablecoins was catalyzed by the specter of big tech, like Meta's Diem, formerly Libra initiative, entering financial markets. And that prompted 5 years of concerted policy development in Europe, said Cirkle's head of policy, Dante Disparte, who was involved in the Libra project, quote, excuse me. Personally, I feel a little bit of a semi parental relationship with Micah because in some ways, it was accelerated by my prior life and my prior project, Libra Diem. Micah is both a vindicating of the vindication of the industry and its permanence, but it's also clear that there is no more shortcuts at least not in the 3rd largest economy in the world. Gone are the days where you could operate in a regulatory haven or in the shadows of and then expect to have liberal and free access to consumers, markets, and participants. Okay. You better put a tie on that suit speak there, buddy. And that was Desparte saying all of that stuff in an interview. Okay.
450, 000, 000 people and it's Circle wins the day, not Tether. Circle wins the day. I don't like either company. I don't I I really don't like Circle. I am completely neutral on Tether. Don't care. Don't give a shit. I I just don't care. I don't need stable coins. I've never used them. I've never said, you know what would make my life better? If I had some freaking stable coins. That no. That's never happened to me, so I don't care. Circle, on the other hand, is an is a problem. They were very much on the wrong side of the fence when it came to the block size debate in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
They were on the wrong side of the signed letter that was the New York agreement that was going to force everybody to use, what was it, 4 megabyte blocks? They were gonna upgrade they're gonna upgrade us, and they said that they were going to destroy they were they were just gonna take over. And there was such hubris. They had no idea what was coming, and then all the node runners flagged that they were not going to support this bullshit. We were gonna only support the actual chain. They forked off anyway and they couldn't even make the first block because the failure in the code of the person that wrote the code that they were supporting for the SegWit 2 x business that was part of the New York agreement. That was all the way back in 2017.
2016, 2017, 2018, the years of the block size war. And Circle, Circle was very much on the wrong end of that. They were on the wrong side of history, and now they pretty much have the European market for stablecoin. Do not trust them. If you are a European listener, do not do not do not trust those people. They are up to no good. They have always and ever been up to no good. I would just forget that they exist. And if you have to use a stable coin, well, then figure out a way to use Tether because, like I said, I'm completely neutral on Tether. Now moving on to yet more Germanic chicanery, the German government has moved 1, 000, 000 more in Bitcoin to exchanges.
This is up today. Okay? This is not like the last 2 times that they did it. This is a new swath. Okay? Brand new. Checked it. It's Vivek Sin. He wrote this thing 6 hours ago. LFG, the German Federal Criminal Police Office or the BKA on Monday transferred an additional 1500 Bitcoin valued at nearly $95, 000, 000 to multiple crypto exchanges, including Bitstamp, Coinbase, and Kraken. This follows a series of transactions since June 19th where the German government has moved Bitcoin worth approximately $220, 000, 000 to various exchanges according to data from ARCEM. The German government first acquired these Bitcoin after a large scale seizure in 20 13. They confiscated almost 50 k Bitcoin then valued at over 2, 000, 000, 000 from the operators of movie 2 k, a notorious film piracy website.
These movements suggest a potential intention by the German authorities to liquidate some of or all of the Bitcoin in the crackdown. This move by Germany mirrors recent actions by the US government, which also transferred 1, 000, 000 of dollars in Bitcoin to exchanges, potentially signaling their intention to sell. In both Bitcoin to exchanges, potentially signaling their intention to sell. In both cases, the transfers have sparked significant speculation within the Bitcoin community about potential impact on the price. Despite the substantial movements, most of the seized Bitcoin remains under the German government's control.
Almost 44, 600 Bitcoin worth approximately 2, 820, 000, 000 are still held in government wallets. This means that the recent transfers, while notable, represents a relatively small portion portion of the total holdings, or you can read total holdings as ammunition. But they only get to coordinate this shit once with the United States government. At 1 point or another, if these people don't get their collective shit together, they're going to be out of Bitcoin, and they're going to have sold their people's future. Their sovereign citizenry will not have the future that they could have had.
Had the United States government and the German government just said, you know what? We're not gonna sell it. But here's the problem. The hubris of these governments is that they have the power to keep the pressure on the price in a downward momentum. And by God that's what what they're gonna do because they've got to they've got to protect the legacy financial system. The only problem is they only have this 1 type of ammunition and they only have so much of it. Just just saying. These people are not acting in your best interests. These people are not actually even acting in their own best interests and these are the very people that are in control of our day to day lives My god. That scares me. Let's run the numbers.
CNBC Futures and Commodities has got West Texas Intermediate up. Wow. 1.7%. $82.98. Brent, North Sea is up 1.6% to 86.37. Natural gas is down 4 full points to $2.49 per 1, 000. It hasn't been that low in a while in quite a while. Gasoline is up 2.67 percent to $2 56¢ a gallon. Shiny metal rocks are mixed mostly to the upside. Gold is up scant. Silver is up a quarter. Platinum, however, is down 2 and a half percent, copper is up a half percent, and palladium is down a half percent. Lumber and all that kind of stuff in agricultural futures is mostly in the red today. Biggest loser is chocolate. 5.38 percent to the downside. Biggest winner is, whew, wheat.
2.18% of the upside. And live cattle is down a half. Lean hogs are down a third. Feeder cattle are down over a half. The Dow and legacy other legacy financial indices are up mostly. Dow is up point 18%. The S and P futures is up a 5th of a point as well. Nasdaq is up just under a half point, but the S and P Mini is down 0.86%. I wonder what's going on if that's an Nvidia move. I'm not sure. But Clark Moody's Bitcoin, the dashboard.clarkmoody. Com is, $63, 120. So, we got a pump this morning. $1, 240, 000, 000, 000 of market cap.
You can now purchase 27.3 ounces of shiny metal rocks with your 1 Bitcoin of which there are 19, 000, 000 719, 339.87 of, and fees have dropped yet again. We are in a low fee environment and have been for quite a while because the average fees per block stand at point 12 BTC. And speaking of mempools, let's look at it. How many blocks are there? There are 189 blocks carrying 240, 000 unconfirmed transactions waiting to clear at high priority rates of 12. Count them 12 satoshis per v byte. 10 satoshi is gonna get you in a low priority, but everything under 4.69 is being purged from memples around the world.
Mining is at 566.2 exahashes per second. So, there you go with mining. Now, from the greatest library, which was 1 of my favorite shows to actually record, we have these boosts that was, I believe, 914, episode 914. Yes. 914 of Bitcoin and, slow slow with 10, 000 sats, brother. Love you. He says, love how your brain works. Need to give a team of devs your ideas. Well, if any devs out there want to hire me on, I may not be able to program, but I do got some good ideas. Now, Jabravco wiz 6000sat says, ah, missed another show. And that last boost was supposed to be 2, 000 sats. Oops. Musk isn't known to play fake on Twitter. Don't blame jb55.
The library is an awesome idea. Them uploading the bible first reminded me of the movie, The Book of Eli. I have yet to see that flick. Letter 6173 with 5, 001 sat says the best libraries are the ones you self host. Joeydd with 3333, a row of threes, and he says, nothing. Arcerusbtc 2, 718 says thank you for reading my Chevron piece. So Arceloris is the guy that wrote the Chevron deference piece for Bitcoin Magazine. That was a good piece. I really appreciate that 1. Ghost Shadrock with a 2112, a rush boost. Alright. Oh, and he says it. Rush boost.
TW cattle with 2, 000 says, thank you for your good work. Brit to bring the good news, just say no to the USDA RFID cattle tags. Find your local rancher and shake their hand. User 195-65052 with 2, 000 says, that second half, it glows. So well explained. Thank you, brother. Djw with 1976 says, don't club any baby seals. Oh, that reminds me of a joke. A penguin is driving through the desert. When his car breaks down, he waddles over to the nearest town and finds the mechanic. The mechanic says it will take a while to figure out what's wrong, so the penguin decides to go for a walk. While wandering around, the penguin comes across an ice cream shop. Since it's a hot day, he orders a big vanilla ice cream cone.
Because penguins don't have hands, he makes a bit of a mess getting ice cream all over his beak and flippers. After finishing his ice cream, he heads back to the mechanic who looks at the penguin and says, it looks like you blew a seal. The penguin replies, no no. It's just ice cream. Riverside BTC meetup with a 1000 says the Obsidian Nostra Library was a damn good idea. Golf winch with a 1000 says nothing. Hit again with a 1000 says nothing. Again with a 1, 000. Finally, golf winch says, thank you, sir. No. Thank you. Golf winch with yet another 1, 000 says, I'm having trouble boosting the amount I want to. Interesting. Golf winch with yet another 1, 000 says, please donate more to this fine gentleman. This show delivers the news with pure signal. Thank you, David, for providing the information diet that I crave. You are still the top semi daily Bitcoin podcast in my opinion. I appreciate that. O 2 z x with 835 says, thank you for your thoughts on the Apple Japan National ID integration and covering all the news I need and and or news I use and need explaining.
Lots of news. Appreciate that. Looking at the Pan Latin American coin telegraph chart. Damn. I hear you. User 4 4027848 with 500 says, thank you for your time. Yeah. Okay. Sidewalk with 420 says, hi. Okay. Hi. Pies with 420 says, thank you, sir. No. Thank you. Wartime with 333 says boos. To God's death with 237 says thank you, sir. No. Thank you. Moosechaw with 121 gives me a heart emoji. And that's it, brothers and sisters. I thank you for your time and that's gonna do it for the weather report. Welcome to part 2 of the news that you can use. What does anybody know what happened to no bullshit Bitcoin?
I have I always use no bullshit Bitcoin to get, like, some of the smaller snippets of news for the second part of the show. Dudes, they have not updated their website since, their last I think their last 1 let me get it over here. The last news item I actually covered, but it was like a it was a when was see if they've got a date stamp on it. June 25th. Julian Assange to end 14 year persecution with a guilty plea in exchange for freedom. So they have not updated their website since June 25th. And honestly, they haven't actually posted anything to their, to anything on Noster. I haven't checked on Twitter, but they haven't posted anything to Noster since pretty much the same day.
So, if anybody out there knows what's going on with no bullshit Bitcoin or no BS Bitcoin, please let me know. I I hope everything is okay with the guys over at no BS Bitcoin. If there is anything wrong, then thoughts and prayers go out to you, my good friends. Meta Planet has bought another $1, 200, 000 worth of Bitcoin as an investment strategy. Well, they're following the the playbook as laid out by Michael Saylor. This is CoinDesk, written by Sheldon Raback. And Meta Planet, a publicly listed Japanese investment adviser said it bought more than 20.2 Bitcoin as part of a 6 $1, 000, 000 strategy to boost BTC holdings in its treasury.
In a statement on its website, the Tokyo based company said it bought 200, 000, 000 yen worth of Bitcoin, taking its total holdings to a 161.3 BTC. A week ago, the company said that it planned to increase its Bitcoin holdings by buying an additional $6, 000, 000 worth of BTC. At the time, it already owned 9, 000, 000 worth of the world's largest cryptocurrency, and the focus on Bitcoin was engendered by changes in the investment environment resulting from the COVID pandemic. The Bitcoin accumulation strategy mirrors the approach taken by Tysons, Corner, Virginia based software developer, MicroStrategy.
Yeah. It's they're doing the playbook. They have indeed. This is, I think, their 3rd purchase in a row of Bitcoin. So, it appears that they are not backing down and this is going to be interesting to see how this plays out in Japan locally, but Asia more broadly. We'll we'll have to see what happens there. Bitcarrot over on Nostra says that HiveTalk login fixes were pushed yesterday, which may actually mean the day before yesterday, because this was actually written yesterday. So, well, okay. Also, we now have 5, count them, 5 options for joining a Hive Talk. You can join by just using an a non random name. You can type your name, if you want.
You can use a lightning address to get in there. And a gravatar.com profile. I don't know what gravatar is. I'm sure somebody will scream at me on Nostra or in a Boostagram because I don't know what the hell Gravitar is. But, you can all, as always for your 5th option, just use your nostril login information. I use git albie as a browser extension to hold my private and public key pair. I have had 0 problems doing that, and that's the way that I actually choose to do it, but it's good that Bitcarrot is providing for other ways to get into a hive talk.
Hive talk is I'm not using it today. I still have, there there may be something wrong with what I'm doing. I'm not exactly sure because the first time that I did this show and I used hive talk, I had like like at least like, you know, multiple people join. The last of 3 times that I've done it on hive talk, I've got nobody. So I don't know if it's because I suck or if it's because there's something weird about how Hive Talk is is, like, acting on my oh, like, in my browser environment now. I don't know. Maybe brave decided that it wanted to shut down something I don't know I don't I'm not that deep into the woods on browser stuff but but but with all that aside, if you're do not sleep on hive talk, look, I love corny chat. I love the way that they've done their things out there. I've always loved Nostra nests.
But I've always said that we need more people competing with each other in the open market. And I gotta tell you, man. Hive Talk is not only going after, like, the just sit down and crank up a room kind of thing. It's going after Zoom and it's doing a damn good job at it, because of all the features that is already present out of the box with HiveTalk. So, if for whatever reason you haven't checked out HiveTalk as a replacement for Zoom, or, Google Spaces or whatever the hell else where you're using, something to, you know, teleconference with webcams and microphones.
Do yourself a favor, check out HiveTalk. They make it super simple to get they you can like it's like any place else. You can just copy a URL link, send it to the people that you wanna come into that chat, and boom they're there. If they got a camera, they can use it. If they got a mic, they can use it. You got you can raise your hands and you can record the whole thing. And that is 1 1 of the things that sets it apart from a lot of these other places that will say well you can use the service, but unless you pay us, you can't actually record. What HiveTalk needs now is a button or or a way for me to open up a room and pay for it with satoshis much like I do when I'm refilling my zap.stream wallet on zap.stream.
I want them to be able to make their money. You are not allowing me a way to actually give you the satoshis that I believe that you deserve. Bit Carrot, if you're listening to me, please please rectify that situation. Alright. Haxorabana and Signet. Haxorabana.org, that's hax, the number 0, rbana.org has been working on this thing called signet. And I just I I think I've seen it before, but I just yeah. I stumbled around it. Maybe I forgot that it existed but I want to bring it to you here because I just cannot help but to get plebs up in front of you especially if they're you know if they got something for you to buy. Signet, s I g n e t, is a free and open source software and open hardware USB password manager.
Signet is fully encrypted requiring your device requiring your device password to be unlocked. It also adds physical security to your passwords by requiring a device button to be pressed, in order to get any secret data. It then acts as a USB keyboard to type your data when you need it. It works while you are offline as well as online. It can be unplugged when you're not using it. Signet is not limited to passwords. It can also store other small pieces of information such as credit card information, account numbers, or anything else you want to store in a place with extra security.
Signet hardware can be purchased from my store using Bitcoin. I'll get to my store in a second. Kidwarp, yo, brother. Hey, good to see you there, mother. Yeah. Signet hardware can be purchased from my store using Bitcoin. This is my preferred payment on account of the inflation in the United States combined with the fact that both payment processors and marketplaces each take significant fees. As such, it's also the cheapest option for you. Hardware is also available for purchase on artisans.coopc0op.c0op The Artisan's Marketplace accepts credit cards and some of the fees go to The Artisan's Cooperative, which is a fiercely independent group of people.
The original development was done by Nth Dimension back in 2017 as a crowdfunded project on crowd supply. Since then, it has been revived by Adam at Hacksorbana who is the current developer slash maintainer of the hardware, software, and firmware as well as the primary producer of the hardware. So, what is this store? Well, here it is. It's a simple store. It's got it's got 2 items in the inventory. You can buy the Signet for $45 US or you can just donate to open source gadgets which is on the hacksorbana dotorg website yeah sorry getting later in the show I'm starting to starting to lose my cognitive abilities, man. Maybe I should do a presidential debate.
Okay. Kidwarp says, I got 1 just to support them. I bought mine from the coop. So Kidwarp, since I got you on the line here, have you have you used it? Does it work well? I'll wait While we're waiting for, Kidwarp to chime in with that, I I do agree. If you need a password manager and you want it to not be resident on your computer, because even even I get a little, oh, Kidwarp says that he's not used it yet, so he really did just buy it to support the guy. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with that. Every all of us can use each other's support. That's the only way that the circular Bitcoin economy can come to life. It's also the only way that people like me who would really who really thinks that it's more important to do these kinds of productions than go flip burgers or go try to run down people for cash to donate to a university.
I I honestly I honestly could probably do that. I I don't think it's a worthwhile endeavor. It's your donations to shows like this or endeavors like Signet. It's the only way this works, guys. It's the only way it works. And, you guys were really generous on the last show, given the boostograms and the streaming sats that I saw. That was actually, 1 of the most 1 of the more well funded shows. I'd like to actually have that more well funded. So, if you could boost this show, Streamy Satoshis, but also, if you just don't have the cash but you do have some time, then spread the word on whatever social media that you have.
Email it to your family or friends. I will always provide the link to the fountain, the fountain link where you they can go listen to it. In every 1 of the show notes and if you can't get it from there, whatever app you're listening to, there should be a way that you can actually share that particular episode directly out of the episode. If you do that, I would appreciate it because it will help. And, honestly, that's gonna do it for the show. I've got some fish that I gotta go fry. So I'm just gonna end it here and say the following, I will see you on the other side.
This has been Bitcoin and and I'm your host David Bennett. I hope you enjoyed today's episode and hope to see you again real soon. Have a great day.
