(01:32:12) WE OUT ✌️
Checking off a new show, Max. A new year.
[00:00:27] Unknown:
Welcome to kind of a new show,
[00:00:30] Unknown:
Ungovernable Misfits. Action news. We create a new show, every other day. New name, new show, same friends, new sponsors, the previous Pleb Miner monthly. We did statistics, a bite sized Bitcoin, action news. I think we had another piece in there. I can't remember. I think it was 4, wasn't it, Max?
[00:00:52] Unknown:
It was this 4, we have statistics,
[00:00:55] Unknown:
action news, Plebminer in the wild. Oh, Plebminer in the wild. And Bite Size Bitcoin. And Bite Size Bitcoin. So this show is now called Ungovernable Misfits: Action News. Yeah. And I don't wanna hear anybody saying, oh, it's you have you listened to Ungovernable Misfits action news? No. I'm sorry. It's Ungovernable Misfits action news. Yeah. That's much better. What happens if someone does it the first way? What happens if you witness that? I'm gonna hunt you down.
[00:01:23] Unknown:
Oh.
[00:01:24] Unknown:
Okay. I'm a bring my boys. We're all gonna roll up in our black hoodies. Skulls on the back. And we're gonna roll you. It's intimidating. The bass load will get down. He'll, like, get down on his hands and knees behind you, you know, that you won't see, and then Chet will come up and push you. Oh, yeah. Like that. That old chestnut. Yeah. Put gum in your hair. Yeah. You know the one where you do, like, you kick behind someone's knee and they're like Oh, yeah. Yeah. It might do that to you. You might be walking, and and we might roll up behind you and kick your one leg into the other, tie your shoelaces together.
[00:01:59] Unknown:
And then they'll just go, oh. Yeah. Just pull right on their face. Right on your face. Right on your fucking face.
[00:02:06] Unknown:
Ungovernable Misfits action news. So that's this show, and it will consist of action news and statistics and us bullshitting as always. And, of course, fountain boosts. And then there'll be another show, which is still in formation. It is evolving. But that will be called Ungovernable Misfits PMM. What does the PMM stand for? Premenstrual Premenstrual music. So it is featuring all of the music that women listen to while they're having, PMS. Yes. So it's really moody. Emotional. A lot of emo stuff.
[00:02:45] Unknown:
Reasonable. I know Sarah listens to this show, so I'm gonna stay on the good side. Measured.
[00:02:54] Unknown:
Measured. Yeah. That's another one. You betcha. Not mean. That's not what the m stands for. Anyway, I think it stands for Plebminer Monthly or or Plebminer and Meshtadel We leave it open because it's evolving. That's right. Put whatever you want in there. Just don't be insulting. Or do. Or do. We like it. Alright. So that's that's what we're doing with this show. Hope you like it. We're gonna start out how we usually start out, with some fountain boosts.
[00:03:31] Unknown:
Oh, I'm first, aren't I? Because it's a different You are. Yeah. I do that just to fuck with you. I actually prefer the color blue. If you ever feel like changing the format, I do prefer blue to red. Oh my god. I'm just saying. It's not like a has to be done, but It'd be nice. Late stage HODL.
[00:03:49] Unknown:
55,000
[00:03:51] Unknown:
55500 sats. Top booster. Yeah. Big boost. Big booty boosts. New fountain app. Hope I don't screw this up. Happy New Year, y'all. Keep up the good work. I appreciate the show and the entire Oh, that's the other one. PMM. Oh, yeah. Mafia. It just works on so many It does. So deep like us. Hopeful for a great 2024, and hope this fucking pool heater starts working soon. Special thanks to John for your help with the fixing of some rigs. And, PSA, I'm no expert, But it appears if you want to immerse some minors, then the XP
[00:04:39] Unknown:
isn't the right choice. Damn it. Late stage HODL has been through it over the past couple months, setting up his pool heater immersion system. I'm not gonna mention very much about what's going on because the story's not finished. So we'll see. I think it's gonna have a triumphant ending. But, man, that guy's been through it. It's like, the hits just keep on coming. So, send, love and prayers and good vibes to his machines, which are currently at our former sponsors, Fixed Rigs facilities. Fixed rigs has been pretty good throughout this process because I've been keeping track. There were a couple machines that late stage HODL had sent to someone else, and they said were unfixable. And then he sent them to fixed rigs, and they said, no. We'll we'll fix it. There's a lot of chips burn on here. Clues of the name, mate. Yeah. That's what the what they say they'll do. Although still, they're not a sponsor, they're a friend and they were a sponsor. Seems like they're doing some good work. Next up is Ape Mithrandir.
I was feeling hurt and left out until boty pulled through in the last minute. Merry Christmas, boty, and I hope Max sends these sats your way. Are you gonna send sats to boty?
[00:05:43] Unknown:
Definitely not that little cunt.
[00:05:46] Unknown:
Next up is Barrrrrnminnnner. You dirty cunts. That was via Breeze.
[00:05:52] Unknown:
Excuse me. Sort of language on this show. Oh, we don't? Absolutely not.
[00:05:58] Unknown:
I think we need to go back and do some editing over the past year and a half. He says your show sucks. Body could do a way better job. Love, Barn, on Breeze because Fountain itself is custodial garbage. Whew. Okay. Hey. Are you able to tell the audience where else they can participate in podcasting 2.0? Are we to that the point yet? Or do we need to outsource the explanation to, Linkinparkrulz?
[00:06:29] Unknown:
I think we need to outsource the explanation because he knows all the ins and outs of what's best and why and blah blah blah. All I can say is he's been working really hard, and we have our podcasting 2.0 set up way better now, so we will be able to see all messages from all platforms, which we couldn't before. But, yeah, I'll wait until I've spoken to him again to advise. You just got off the phone with him. You didn't retain anything? We were doing other stuff, mate. We were talking about how I finally learned how to burp, which I haven't been able to do. Oh, yeah. Fuck. Right. Did you really? Yeah. You should explain to people what you're talking about. Well, I've never been able to burp. It's just like a weird thing. I've never been physically able to do it. Ever. So I'd drink, like, one pint and I'd be like, oh, I felt fucking rough and, like, you just want to burp, but I can't. The only time I'd ever sort of almost burp was if I was actually vomiting.
Do you you know what I mean? Then, then it would happen as well. You're like a burp vomit, but you know, you don't want to take it to those levels every time that you just want to release some gas. So I've been practicing. And, somehow, in the last sort of, like, maybe 3, 4 months, I've started to be able to do it. And so I was just letting him know and the ins and outs of why. And he was really interested. I could tell. It's weird. Yeah. We basically were talking about that, and we didn't cover too much else. And, also, we've moved the show to another host, And we've set up a load of cool AI stuff. And when I say we, I mean Yeah. Him.
But, yeah, there are loads of different platforms, and we will let you know. I know Breeze is one of them. Podverse. Fountain obviously still works.
[00:08:13] Unknown:
Alright. To let people know, Fountain sort of changed their, I don't know, the boost chat function. So I go in there and I try to reply to every boost, but you don't really see the replies in line like you used to. No. Just know that that I am replying to everybody, but you might not be able to see it.
[00:08:32] Unknown:
I've now set it up so that we pay our taxes to Fountain whether We use their platform or not or whether users use their platform or whether the user who's replying to their comment on their platform or not, we just flat pay them 2% tax so that people can actually see what everyone else in the podcasting 2.0 ecosystem
[00:08:57] Unknown:
It's doing, so hopefully it should work. Yeah. But in case it doesn't, we're trying.
[00:09:03] Unknown:
Yes.
[00:09:04] Unknown:
Alright. Next up is Bon, and he says, central bankers be like, don't know about you, but I'm Andalusia.
[00:09:12] Unknown:
Wanna grow up to be a Debaser. Debaser. Debaser. Debaser. Debaser. Debaser.
[00:09:25] Unknown:
Bon likes to have me sing pixie songs. So there you go, buddy. Next one is Pies. I almost forgot. Merry Christmas, you bloody cunts. Santa Claus, missus Claus, Christmas tree. Pies also says, yo, son. I love Dominic the donkey. Yes. I'm a guinea from North Jersey. Mushroom rocket. Mushroom rocket. Mushroom rocket. Mushroom rocket. Get Mushroom Rocket. Hey, yo. Guinea from North Jersey.
[00:09:51] Unknown:
Dominic the donkey. I have to say you've put me onto that. I really like it now. People love it. My missus absolutely hates it.
[00:10:01] Unknown:
She know She likes me love it. Come on. Yeah. I know. She hates it. Once you train the kids to annoy the wife, that's the funnest part. That's the best.
[00:10:10] Unknown:
Here's something that you'll quite like, which is completely unrelated the show in any way, shape, or form. That's cool. So a friend of mine here in the UK, Bitcoiner, and hates the state maybe even more than me. It's possible. Ungovernable. He came and showed me a note from his 6 year old daughter, and he was so proud and excited. I've never seen a smile on his face like this. The note reads it just says, morning, dad. The government is a criminal organization, and everything it has, it has stolen. And then a little heart underneath it. Oh, man. That give you hope for the future. And there was just a little note next to his lunchbox to take to work with that. And he was unbelievably proud, and so am I. Congratulations. That's great parenting. Yeah. You're raising them up right, buddy. Exactly. Remind them every day. Note from from my daughter. I was in here last night in the office, cutting clips and recording stuff and writing and doing my normal frantic show prep the night before.
[00:11:12] Unknown:
And I always tell you, like, oh, I don't I don't know if I'll be ready by tomorrow. I I can't do this. Like, you know, freaking out. They try not to disturb me, so she dropped a little note on the floor written on a napkin that says, good night, dad. Good luck on your pod.
[00:11:29] Unknown:
That's so sweet.
[00:11:32] Unknown:
Hold them back to your ears. I do have nice kids. Yep. How did that happen? I don't know. Sara's nice. That's true. Sarah is really nice. Yeah. They take after her. Okay. You got a fountain boost to read, pal.
[00:11:45] Unknown:
Oh, yeah. I was just getting a bit choked up there. Just wiping the tears from my eyes. Right. Chet. I see what y'all did. Why is it always y'all? Do people say it knowing it's gonna be or do you just give me all the y'alls? Because it's always me saying y'all. Maybe you.
[00:12:03] Unknown:
You never say y'all. I made a said of y'all here and there. Fucking every single one.
[00:12:07] Unknown:
Makes me cringe inside. Good. Chet. I see what y'all did there. Get people boosting the corrupt upload and then rug and put a new one up. So we have to boost it also. Must be Max's idea. Cunt says he he has no money to fly here, but he's buying the nicest weight bench known to man. Question mark. Question mark. You better pump that iron. A war is coming, and it won't be against the weak. Oh, it won't be against the weak voice Twitter twats. The mind and body. Thanks, Chet. I have been doing that. I'm currently bulking. I'm currently Oh, yeah. Drinking my protein. Bulking. Bulking. Yeah. Training every day, mate. So I'm ready.
[00:12:55] Unknown:
Yeah. Alright. Gets me pumped. The next one is from Agashute. I don't know if I said that right. Please, I beg you, listen to Dominic the donkey song on 1.5 speed.
[00:13:05] Unknown:
Oh, sure. That so we could listen to it. Sorry.
[00:13:09] Unknown:
Next one is from user 117-586-64257-3525-876-69420. Keep the aluminum garage alive. We can do that. Garage. Say it like Americans say it. The garage.
[00:13:31] Unknown:
We call it a garage. Garage. Well, actually, there's 2 different some people I think can call it a garage, and then some people do call it a garage.
[00:13:40] Unknown:
Oh. There is a mix. It's okay. Very well. I didn't know that. Thank you. We always get a little bit linguistics lesson here. And lastly, we have lime owl from Breeze. Lima on Breeze. It did work last time, silly cunts. You get 2 sets. All hell, minimum of 50 sats. Love, happy barn. And there's 2 different he has 2 different personalities. Happy and grumpy. And that's fucking that is for sure. Verified 100%.
[00:14:08] Unknown:
What's that as a percentage of the little dwarves? Is it 7 dwarves? So Yeah. What about the others? Do they ever pop up? He could be dopey sometimes. That's for sure. Really? Mhmm. What are the other ones? Dopey. Sleepy. Sleepy. Doc. What?
[00:14:25] Unknown:
Doc. There's one named Doc. It's like, you know, like, say you could say, like, and Rudolph, like, and Doc. Doc's the last one, I think. No. What's that mean then? Like, doctor? Yeah. I guess so. It was happy, sleepy, grumpy, dopey. Yeah. We see did Disney's doing a live action remake of Snow White, so it might be a bunch of, like, representation involved there might have, like, lesbo, homo, one legged guy, questioning
[00:14:51] Unknown:
queer. They won't be dwarves. They'll just be, like,
[00:14:55] Unknown:
normal, high, normal people. Yeah. Because you can't have a dwarf. I Dwarfism. Dwarfist. Yeah. Midgetist. Hey. We're also sponsored by a large mining organization.
[00:15:09] Unknown:
I'm gonna say we're also sponsored by a dwarf. I was just saying. I just was looking at you know, ready to start statistics and thinking about who sponsors statistics. And then the ad read for that is real corporate y. So, you know, we'd like to mix it up. Maddie's the opposite of a dwarf. He's the ultimate dwarf. No. He's the opposite of a dwarf. He's a fucking fridge. He's wide. Hey. You know what? I gave away,
[00:15:32] Unknown:
hoodies to a lot of the crew, and I gave one to Betty. And he took a double XL. I didn't ask him if it fit yet. What do you use? Just use it as a mitten. Yeah. I like the hoodie. He actually, like, wrapped it around his neck like a cape for a while. It was just walking around with it.
[00:15:50] Unknown:
Did he still have the, the skull exposed on the back? Yeah. Yeah. It looked cool. Oh, that's nice. I like that. Super pleb. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Well, speaking of Lincoin Mining, Statistics is brought to you by Lincoin Mining.
[00:16:16] Unknown:
Statistics. I'm a tell you the basics for hashing with basics. Bitcoin mining statistics. Statistics. I'm a tell you the basics for hashing with ASICs. Bitcoin mining statistics. Statistics. Statistics.
[00:16:53] Unknown:
Oh, I interrupted your reverse burp. That sounded good. You interrupted the statistics. I know. That's what I'm saying. I've got really fucking good at it. Wow. The first time I ever heard it, I thought it was I thought it was your dog. I was like, yo, did your dog just barf on the floor? Oh, no, mate. That's that's me. I can't burp.
[00:17:10] Unknown:
What? Yeah. No. He does that as well. Does all those things sometimes. What a cutie. Yeah. I know, but he's so cute. You just can't get annoyed at him. He is adorable. Except for when was it? 3 years ago or something before I went to Bitcoin Beach Retreat. And I'd got all ready, and I was like, oh, I'm gonna take the dog down as well because he'll love that. And there's other dogs there, and it's on the beach and blah blah blah. Went to bed, and I was like, oh, early start tomorrow. Get up and I'll go straight down to the beach retreat. I wake up in the night and I was like, Fucking smells in here. I was like, oh, must be the dog farting or something. And I was staying in, like, a a small studio flat at the time in the middle of 2 other moves. And I was like, I just need to sort of stay. So we're renting this place. I was like, get up and take a piss. So walked through to the bathroom.
Smells. I look on the bathroom floor, On the tiles, and there's just like a load of shit. And I was like, oh, you little bastard. Oh, well. It's late. I'll sort that in the morning. I'm just gonna get to bed. I'll sort it out in the morning.
[00:18:13] Unknown:
Get back into bed, and I was like,
[00:18:15] Unknown:
still fucking stinks of shit around here. And he's, like, next to me snoring. I was like, fuck's sake, Chloe. What's going on? And his tech kept getting worse and worse, and I was like, I need to get up now. This is fucking disgusting. Turned the lights on, and the entire flat looked like a fucking murder scene. There was shit all over my bed. All over the pillows. All over the floor. Up the walls. I went into the kitchen. I was like, oh, fucking hell. This is disgusting. I'm gonna go and get some, like, carpet cleaner. Just don't know where to start even. Just I have to get something. And bear in mind, this is a small dog. He's French bulldog. He's hench, but he's very small. Fuck's sake. So, anyway, go to open the kitchen cupboard. Shit all up the kitchen cupboard. I'm like, what the fuck is going on? I turned on those lights. I had to cancel leaving the next day. I had to go and hire a carpet cleaner, like a proper professional carpet cleaner, And I spent an entire day cleaning and washing down the walls with sugar soap and everything else because I don't know what happened, but this guy has just
[00:19:25] Unknown:
fucking destroyed the flat. He can do these things sometimes. He's a little dog. Like, somebody picked him up and and pointed his ass like a gun just shot. Shit all over the place.
[00:19:36] Unknown:
Yeah. Honestly, like, it was fucking unbelievable. I have photos. I'll I'll send you them after the show. Alright. Thank oh, please send me photos of your dog with shit all over your you're all departed. Yeah. It was fucking horrendous. Send them right before lunch. I will do. I will do. I think I've got a video somewhere. And then he felt all sorry for himself and I was, like, obviously, fucking annoyed, but I was like, I can't be annoyed at you. Obviously, there's obviously an issue here. So he still got cuddles. You know? I'm sorry I did this. Yeah. Because he looked, like, really fucking ashamed of himself. Just all, like, feeble. I'm like,
[00:20:10] Unknown:
I'm so sorry about this. Statistically, the odds of your dog doing this to you are 1 in 15,000.
[00:20:18] Unknown:
The shat rate wasn't so high then, but now it's even less likely.
[00:20:25] Unknown:
It lowered difficulty. Anyway, back to statistics. Statistics is brought to you by Lincoin Mining, the Lincoin Mining platform, and their their vision for what Bitcoin mining can mean Mhmm. To humanity. Oh. Yeah. They envision Bitcoin mining not only as a means to fortify the world's most robust financial network, But also as a transformative force that bestows benefits upon humanity across various realms. Yeah. Not just in the human realm we're in this plane of existence. I love it. Yeah. You have to go, like, on a Ayahuasca journey to really understand the importance of Bitcoin, then you'll get it. Come with me on an Ayahuasca journey.
[00:21:06] Unknown:
We're gonna be posting DMT to the next biggest booster for next month's show. Yeah. Just so you can really understand Medi's
[00:21:15] Unknown:
thoughts. Yeah. I mean, I'm I'm gonna do my ad read and everything, but there's no way you can understand what Bitcoin mining and Lincoin platform means to humanity until you go on some kind of deep trip.
[00:21:27] Unknown:
It's a great ad read. We need a new sponsor now.
[00:21:31] Unknown:
Mehdi, I'm sorry. I have to drop you. I'll still wear your hoodies like a cape. That's cool with me. But puppy dog shitting, condoning drug use,
[00:21:40] Unknown:
doing a shit impression of my voice. I'm sorry, man. I am as well. We really love you. Hey. If
[00:21:49] Unknown:
I don't even know where to go from here.
[00:21:52] Unknown:
Should you just be professional for 5 minutes?
[00:21:55] Unknown:
I'll try. Their ecosystem of tools and solutions, which includes an FPPS mining pool, basic management, operation management tools, automation solutions and an energy trading platform collaborate seamlessly to actualize this vision. See, you don't need Ayahuasca. You don't need DMT, acid, mushrooms. None of it. If you truly understand the Link coin mining ecosystem and all the tools that it has, then you can truly understand Bitcoin mining without drugs. This is actually a a straight edge commercial because METI is pretty straight edge. You know what Mehdi likes to do? Everybody else gets drunk, you know, at all these events and everything, but he doesn't really drink. So he just sits back and acts cool. He's the most sober guy in the room. Maybe he's not acting. He just is cool. Oh, yeah. Anyone who wears a cape is just cool. Especially a pleb monitor cape.
Each facet of the Linkcoin Mining ecosystem is meticulously crafted to serve that vision. No need for drugs. Straight Edge, Linquan Mining, the cool pool. But we're not weirdos. Oh, we are, but not Maddie. Anyway, was in Nashville with Mehdi, as you know, and got to see him on a panel with Luke Dasher. The reinter. Yeah. It was very interesting because it the dichotomy between these two it was very interesting. You didn't need to listen to them talk to juxtapose the 2. You just have Medhi up on stage, calm, cool, Luke up on stage, he's actually not he's actually a really nice guy. It it it seems.
He doesn't feel guilty about, you know, how often we make fun of people. Then you meet them in real life. You're like, oh, I wasn't making fun of you, like, 2 weeks ago. Anyway, they're up on stage, and and Mehdi made a a lot of great points about, you know, the industry is going towards FPPS whether you like it or not. And, I think with FPPS, once you get your payout and you understand that that's a steady payout, then you can focus on other assets of or other facets of mining without having to worry about if when if and when you're going to get paid. So he made great points about about FPPS, about the the future of mining pools.
I'm not gonna try to to summarize his his whole viewpoint, but I want to more focus on the fact that the juxtaposition between the 2. Mehdi just sat there cool and calm on his side of the, you know, the panel, and Luke was all these questions about filtering ordinals. Mehdi went into mining economics and all this deeper stuff that you have to worry about mining. And then Luke is answering must have answered 50 questions about ordinals and transcriptions and op return and
[00:24:30] Unknown:
not Not important.
[00:24:35] Unknown:
Anyway, I just thought I'd mention that. What do I wanna say? I I wanted to say something here, but I don't wanna be a dick. You are 1. Don't worry. You should just say it. Just on a personal level, there were there were other mining pools. And once again, LINK coin, the pool is just one facet of the Link coin mining platform. So there were other mining organizations there. Now Ocean doesn't do anything besides offer a mining pool. I mean, they strictly are a mining pool. They don't have any tools. Their dashboard is very plain. The best thing you could do on the dashboard is to kinda creep on other people's hash rate. That's what you can do. Look at all these wallet address and go, oh, that wallet address has this much hash rate. That's the this super cool tool that they have on their dashboard. When you compare Ocean to Link coin, I there's no comparison whatsoever. The 2 platforms are so much so very different from each other. Like, the 2 people are very different from each other. Like, Good Luke is very different from METI. Link coin mining is a professional mining organization that can help you at many different levels from the pleb level, from the small home miner level. You can control ASICs with agent and have that local agent doing all these cool things.
Very powerful tool that is available to the pleb level. That same tool can scale to a very large industrial mining level. You have everything in between that Linkcoin offers for mining. It's really the the total package. And then you have ocean, which is wrapped up in this template controversy, wrapped up in this 43 bytes op return, 3 different templates, their payout structure is really fucking weird. No tools available to you. No energy trading platform. No ASIC management. LinkCoin will soon be coming out with an inventory management software, you know, that just gets folded in with everything else. Go ahead and scan all your machines with the barcode and load them up and very easy to use. You can bundle all these services to reduce your pool fee. It's the total package. And then you have Ocean.
[00:26:27] Unknown:
I know who's got my vote.
[00:26:29] Unknown:
Who? Luke. Oh, wait till the samurai guys find out about that and whoop you. You better be bulking, pal. You're in for a fight. Anyway, here at Ungovernable Misfits action news, we use Linquay Mining to derive our statistics. Additionally in this episode, we will be referencing a document brought to you by Link Coin Mining and long time contributor to action news, Nico Schmidt of Digital Mining Solutions. And that document is called the Bitcoin Mining Boom and it's available at Niko Smid's Substack atnico smid.substack.com. Have you had a chance to peruse through that by chance, Max? It's, like, 50 pages of mining statistics and analysis.
Mhmm. Yeah. Oh, what'd you think? Really good. Yeah. Yeah, I thought you'd say something like that. Global hash rate. Global hash rate on a 30 day moving average is 518 x a hash. 7 day moving average was 529. One day highs for the past month have been as high as 630 on January 10th and as low as 418 on January 14th. What a big drop. 6:30 to 4:18 due to demand response, curtailment because of the oh, boy. That was a reverse burp. Oh. Yeah. I can't even imitate your reverse burp. On January 14th 14th due to demand response, from the cold weather that we had here In the good old US of a.
[00:27:55] Unknown:
Is that measurable? Like, you know, when you say it's down to that, can you see reports from different minors saying that they're actually shutting down for that time Yeah. For sure. Settlement.
[00:28:08] Unknown:
You just know that it's gonna happen. You get a, like, kind of a warning report on ERCOT's website. They send out indications that something may be happening. They have their projected demand on a chart, and then they have their projected supply on the chart. And if those two lines get close to each other or Mhmm. You know, cross, they send out warnings before that to let you know that you may you may have to do something. And then if you're part of their demand response program, you basically have the hotline, you know, to them. And what percentage
[00:28:40] Unknown:
of the total network is going down during those periods. Shit.
[00:28:48] Unknown:
I had the number. I think it was, like, 25%
[00:28:50] Unknown:
went down. Okay. So it's quite a lot. So It was quite a lot. Yeah. The reason I ask is if you can predict when that's gonna happen because of weather reporting and all the rest of it, and you know that those big companies are gonna be shutting down because they're part of these curtailment agreements. Is there some software that can predict when it's gonna happen, and you run more a6 that would otherwise be less profitable during those times for the pled minors, because the total network is dropping, you'd be better to be switching on then? Before that time yeah. I think Rails
[00:29:29] Unknown:
Mehdi calls Rails a a no programming code language. Meaning you you can make all these if statements inside Rails. If this, then The. Increase hash rate. Right. So no programming language with Rails. So you can set up Rails with a local agent Mhmm. To do all kinds of different things. I'm not sure global hash rate is one of them. Okay. I'd have to ask Mehdi or, Chet's always in Rails or Barn Miner who is also always in rails and agent. I'll have to ask about that. But it it would it wouldn't be difficult for METI to program that in if it's not already programmed in. And I guess this can be more of a Lanecoin commercial is that's the flexibility that you have with Lanecoin. If you need a particular tool, it's not like you have to go through this big bureaucratic process to add it. Mehdi and his team, and it's like Mehdi and the CTO and a couple other coders that they'll just make it happen. I've seen this before. Hey. You you guys should do this on Link coin, like, in a Telegram group. Okay. 2 weeks later, it it's out.
Mhmm. I compare and contrast that to another mining organization who who I won't name. At disrupt, they kept coming over to the Linkcoin booth to talk to Mehdi. You know? They'd be, like, asking me and Barn Miner questions. I'm like, why don't we fucking know? And, you know, like, paying him. They this other mining organization asked, hey. Hey, do people really use that payment payout? And I was like, yes. People really use it. It's a big selling feature as far as Linkcoin is concerned. Oh, okay. Well, they they were talking about maybe we should add that too. Yeah. Only for a fucking half a decade. Yeah, they never added it.
No. And they they've got a huge freaking team. I'll give you another anecdote. This same mining organization, CEO goes up goes up to to Mehdi and says, you know, something about, you know, how many people on your team, and Mehdi gives him the number. You know, I'm not I'm gonna divulge this information. It's a small team. And the guy's like, holy shit. You know? Essentially, we've got 50 people, you know, that do that. And between these 50 people, they can't add Paynam support. Mhmm. So, anyway, the answer to your question is I'm not sure that Rails has the availability to choose that in your if and or statement, I'll have to ask, but it's quite quite possible that it's already there or Medic can add it. Cool. I know some some guys, like, one one of our friends of the show. I never know how much information I can devolve with devolve. Devulge. Devulge. I don't know what information people want out there. But, anyway, friend of the show got the warning right before Nashville. We were to go to Nashville. Hey. You might need to curtail down. Now this particular mining location is a hydro location, so they can't exactly just turn all this shit off because it was so cold that your hydro setup can freeze.
Now the loop inside the hydro container is a glycol loop, so your freezing point's a lot lower. But that second stage that it goes to to cool down is all water. So if you don't have that heat going in there, your operations could freeze up. This was a co op. A lot of these power providers will give you the choice. Well, you can, like, purchase through at a crazy ass rate if you don't wanna curtail. So I think they chose to purchase power at a crazy rate during that time, But that's a that's the agreement that you that you sign up for. Yeah. Pretty interesting.
I think so.
[00:32:59] Unknown:
Yes, John. Really interesting.
[00:33:03] Unknown:
Hey. Back to statistics and Hash rate. Keep you cool. He's only trying to wind you up. Don't let it get to you.
[00:33:13] Unknown:
You're better than
[00:33:14] Unknown:
this. Is this me saying this or you? That's you saying that about me. Yeah. Yeah. Trying to wind me up. It's not hard.
[00:33:22] Unknown:
No. You're quite uptight.
[00:33:24] Unknown:
Am I am I? I don't think so. Yeah. Quite easy. Warmed up. Fuck off, asshole. Lincoin Mining's Hash rate has risen to 1.63 exahash, which is a similar trajectory to a lot of the other mining organizations. Hash rate is just going up. Other mining pools of note, the primary mining pools, which we explained in the last episode, what a primary pool is. You're gonna make your own block templates. You are going to sign your blocks and not purchase labels. That is some of the characteristics of a primary mining pool. And those are Foundry. That's 163 exahash. Antpool, 140. F272 via BTC61 exahash.
And SPI crypto 10. Also, Ocean is technically a primary mining pool, but they only have 566 petahash. Hash rate aggregators who pay for block labels but mine with larger organizations, Luxor is not a primary mining pool. They kick a pass rate to a larger organization and buy block labels. They're at 19 exahash. Brains does the same thing since they switched to the FPPS model, there are 7.74 exahash, c k pool, solo pool, 57 petahash, kano's 16.4. As a little side note, Max, last year, global hash rate rose 94.3%.
[00:34:42] Unknown:
That is mental. Yeah. 94.6% after 15 years,
[00:34:49] Unknown:
14 years. That's a good point. Yeah. But it's gonna grow a little bit more before the halving. 45 x a hash worth of machines were ordered in the last 3 months, and so we can expect hash rate to rise all the way up until the howf inning.
[00:35:04] Unknown:
Zeta Hash on the horizon.
[00:35:06] Unknown:
It is. Yeah. Really need to go through our first episodes and and see what the predictions were. There were predictions. They'll happen. Yours were higher than mine. And I think they've been I think they've been blown out of the water. I think your guess was 500, so you're you're probably the closest. We ended with 518.
[00:35:24] Unknown:
Oh, I said 500 by the end of the year and Yeah. I think so. To hash. Yeah. That sounds right. I'd probably be right. Yeah. Whatever it is, you're right. Yeah. Also said 10 k Whirlpool, so I was right on that as well. Although I kind of Can we follow you for more TA? Yeah. Mortier where you can't make any money on these predictions. To be fair, I kind of was influenced there by q and a because he kept saying it just over and over again. I was like, yeah. Yeah. I think the same. Just parrot whatever really smart people say. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So he was really right, but I was
[00:36:01] Unknown:
also kinda right. You were right to believe him. Hash value. Right now, hash value is 188,959 sats per petahash per day, and that's about $75 in value. So that's a big dip from the last month's show where we were at, it's, $95 per pet hash per day. So hash price hash value has really taken a dip. Hash value has taken a dip as well. Excellent. That's because network difficulty is super high. It's now 70,340,000,000,000. That difficulty was actually a decrease from the previous one. But we're we're likely to have an increase in in the next epoch.
And statistics has become very depressing over the past month. It's like we had that ordinals and and and inscriptions thing, and and the hash value was really high. That was great. Was feeling good. It wasn't for people that wanted to transact in Bitcoin in a normal way, but it was great for mining economics. Sorry. It it just was. Transaction fees as a percentage of block reward, not as good as they were before. We finished 2023 on a high note with, 39% transaction, fees as a percent of block reward, and that was on December 30th. So that was cool, but it looks like the enthusiasm for shitcoinery on Bitcoin has tamed now, and we've been hovering between 5 10% over the past week. But last year, ordinal enjoyers and inscriptions folks spent a $180,000,000 on inscriptions in 2023.
So thanks for your business. Winding me up. Winding me up again. Okay. That's cool. I'll just continue on. I don't see a muted mic. I see a muted mic. I go on. I don't see a muted mic. I leave space. I was just balking. Bulking. Bulking. It's good, this bulking. Oh, yeah. What's the what's the bulking flavor? Chocolate peanut butter. Mhmm. Sounds sugary.
[00:37:56] Unknown:
Only 1580
[00:37:58] Unknown:
calories per shake. Holy shit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I asked you the other day. Are you preparing for a fight? Is somebody bullying you? Yeah.
[00:38:08] Unknown:
Who? Globally. Hoo. Hollywood pedophiles. They've whammed me right up. Mhmm. Set the alarm early. I get up. I put some angry music on. I just see all their faces, and I think about what's coming? And then I just get really fucking angry, train hard for 45 minutes to an hour, and then I calm down again, and then I get in the van and go to work. You just envision Klaus's face right in front of you. Max Mhmm. You're going to easy bugs.
[00:38:36] Unknown:
You're going to be skinny and thin. You will owe nothing. Exactly. Let me rule you. Pre pay. Mhmm. He's a real creeper. Hey. I recommend the Rocky 4 soundtrack. You're not an American. I mean, that's that's the original eye of the tiger by Survivor. Rocky 4 soundtrack it contains a song called Hearts on Fire. That was played during the montage while Rocky is training in the Russian wilderness while Drago is training inside the Soviet laboratory, they juxtaposed the 2 of them just like the Luke and Mehdi juxtaposition.
[00:39:11] Unknown:
Yeah. Is that where he's like, he's got meat hanging and he's using that as a punch bag? Oh my god.
[00:39:18] Unknown:
Oh. Oh. Rocky 1, you're so un American sometimes.
[00:39:22] Unknown:
Sometimes.
[00:39:23] Unknown:
Too late. I'm always un American. No. For I'm very unwelcome and you're Yeah. Yeah, I don't wanna do this show with you anymore. If we didn't haven't already taken money from sponsors, it would be done. We can give it back. Alright. I already spent it. Hey. Anyway, moving on. Max, what's your 2024 outlook for, minors of all sizes, but pledminers specifically.
[00:39:47] Unknown:
2024 outlook is much the same, I think, this year. More hash coming online. Everyone's gonna get squeezed. People are gonna have to get creative. I don't think The ordinals thing is gonna continue too much longer. Mhmm. I think that's kinda dying out. But maybe there'll be some other bullshit, and people will be paying high fees for that. But I think people are gonna have to rely on high fees, especially the smaller club miners, or get creative.
[00:40:18] Unknown:
That is my outlook, I think. For me, personally, I'm already going to feel pain a month before the having. My contract for my power purchase agreement sort of, oh, baseload's going up. Not not power purchase agreement. Power purchase agreement. There's something else. Sorry, baseload, if I misspoke or anything, but my contract with who I buy power from is going to expire in March. I will not be able to profitably mine at home anymore or for the foreseeable future until I get even more creative and do some kind of solar build in the back or something like that with Dirty's, direct DC conversion and gain official additional efficiency. That way, gonna have to pool with friends, you know, who I know with with some of the boys and get a bunch of machines together and and find a location to host those things. So I'm already gonna feel pain before the Hal Finning. When you say you're not profitable,
[00:41:12] Unknown:
do you mean you're not profitable purely as a cost for energy and then what you're running back in sats.
[00:41:20] Unknown:
Yeah. Or are you also
[00:41:21] Unknown:
including what your heating
[00:41:24] Unknown:
costs this would have been here's the thing. Even if I were to include heating costs, it would be razor thin, and that's happening in in March. So it it's getting warmer. And I only need at those temperatures like, now it's really it's really warm. It's 50 something degrees outside. I've underclocked my home heating units Mhmm. Which are 5 of them, they're all under clocked now. Whereas when it was 10, 15 degrees outside and windy as all hell. Mhmm. They were clocked, like, at normal normal efficiency levels. Efficiency is is what is my marker. It's what should be all Pleb Miner's markers should be. Not your wattage, you know, overclock, underclock. Chase efficiency for home heating. Decrease efficiency to heat. When you don't need as much heat, increase efficiency. Think of it that way. So that heat reuse application will just be less needed. I may keep a couple machines here until May just for the the home heating aspect, but probably most of them are gonna have to have to go or get turned off. I I don't know. We'll we'll see what we can what we can work out. And that's gonna happen before the the the Hal Finning comes into play. So I already feel that pain, and pled minors are just used to that. We already know the pain. We already know how to be scrappy, scrappy in nature. You know, we already know how to do this stuff. Move machines around. Turn them off. Turn them back on, coupled in pool with other friends and say, hey. Can I can I host machines at at your facility? Do you have space? What kind of rate do you have? You do these things personally. We already know how to do them. We're already scrappy in nature. So the the big mining orgs, I think, that are gonna feel more pain than we will. Do you though? Because they have
[00:43:02] Unknown:
finance, they presumably get better rates on their energy. They get better rates probably on their machines. Sure. Do you not think it's gonna hit the plebs harder than these guys?
[00:43:15] Unknown:
My guess would be it hits the plebs harder. Oh, and to me, it's not a matter of does it hit you harder. It's can you take a punch at all? Mhmm. I think we can take a punch. I don't think the larger mining orgs can take a punch. They have profit margins. They have investors. They have weak chins. Loans. They've got weak chins.
[00:43:32] Unknown:
Yeah. So for you personally, you'll still run a couple of miners at home, put the rest somewhere else for hosting, presumably. And then do you use your the couple that you keep at home for heating, which then makes you sort of maybe flat.
[00:43:50] Unknown:
I think so. Yeah. There's also an ego part of it. Mhmm. I don't know. To give up the machines and send them away and not have that heartbeat of the home anymore, that's that's gonna cut me. Yeah. I don't think you should do that.
[00:44:02] Unknown:
What?
[00:44:03] Unknown:
Well, I just don't think you should not have any in the in the house. Yeah. You're a shame. I need some in the house because of I don't know. We do a show, and it's a pleb miner show, I gotta still experiment with different control boards and home heating setups and shrouds and housings and all these cool things that people are inventing. So Mhmm. I still have to do that. But people don't need industrial ASICs to do that either. Go and and and look at Scott 9000's bitaxe build and build yourself a bit axe. Mhmm. You're still mining.
It doesn't have to be this large terahash,
[00:44:39] Unknown:
petahash, hash rate count. Hey. Guess what, John? Yeah. I think not in the next 6 months, but maybe about 12 months from now, I'm gonna get a minor in the UK. Really? Yeah, I'm planning on sorting out the garage here and organizing it better so that I have, like, a workshop space so that I have a bit of room to do some art and stuff. And what I'm thinking is because it's just like a single skin brick and then a shitty roof. Like, it's not Great. It's got no insulation or anything. I was thinking I might just have a minor in there just for heat because I'm not gonna put a proper heating system in there. It's separate to the house. Like, it would have to be realistically, it's gonna have to be a gas space heater or an electric space heater. And so I was thinking, well, maybe this is the time then that I actually run something. It's definitely not gonna be profitable.
I can tell you that for free. But
[00:45:36] Unknown:
but it would be quite cool to have a tinker, and it'd be better so then just running a electric space heater. Definitely better than running an electric space heater. And I think what you have to do is just find the minimal amount of watts that you need to heat that space Mhmm. And chase efficiency. Like, some of these single board bombsta mom monsters, these Loki rig builds that are that are 120. I think there's even, you know, some people have done some fun stuff with single boards staying with, with 240. But just chase and chase and chase efficiency. What is the minimal amount of heat that you need in there? Chase efficiency.
I mean, you know, at 45 p a kilowatt hour, you're you're gonna you're still you're still fucked.
[00:46:18] Unknown:
Yeah. Yeah. I'm still fucked. Well, I'm just looking at it and thinking I'd run something nonstop. It's got an entrance at the front, which is lockable, and then it's got another entrance at the back, which is just can be left open. So what I would probably do is just run the machine nonstop in the summer even and just leave the back open. Mhmm. And then in the winter, close it up so it's nice and warm in there. To be honest, I just don't wanna be fucking around and firing up and shutting down the machine. Oh, no. I just wanna I just wanna run it, leave it, and just go, right. You're done. And then open up the doors when too hot, and the rest of the time it just runs. If it's not like a crate, it's only gonna be, like, a small amount of hash. So, yeah, it's gonna lose me money, but it'd be quite cool to learn and play around
[00:47:05] Unknown:
yeah. Well, I always say what what other hobbies do you have? You know, how much do people spend on fishing or their cars or 20 to $30,000
[00:47:13] Unknown:
a year on fishing. I absolutely love
[00:47:16] Unknown:
it. Hey. You you know what? I think gardening is a good analogy. Because people garden, they spend all kinds of the time and money on gardening, and then they get, like, $50 worth of produce. So so, like, their initial thing is, well, I'm gonna save money. I'm gonna can all these tomatoes, and I'm gonna do all the stuff and eat from the garden. And then often you don't end up doing that and you still order out. You still buy from the grocery store and you end up giving a lot of the stuff away at work. Like, everybody at work always has tomatoes and peppers sitting out for people will say, like, please get rid of these fucking tomatoes. I don't know. To me, it's a similar thing. Like, you spend money on it. You're learning something.
It's fun. I mean, if you're a nerd, it is fun. I don't know. It's like gardening. Best I got.
[00:48:00] Unknown:
That's really good, mate. I like that analogy.
[00:48:03] Unknown:
That analogy made me have to pee, so be right back.
[00:48:16] Unknown:
2000 years later. A few moments later. One eternity later. Eventually.
[00:48:27] Unknown:
You didn't even get to use all of your little soundboard. That's how fast I was.
[00:48:33] Unknown:
How was it? Relieving.
[00:48:36] Unknown:
Good. Good to hear. So this was supposed to be like a shorter show, you know, compared to our marathon. We're an hour and 13 minutes in. Yep.
[00:48:45] Unknown:
We'll edit that down. You're the best. I know.
[00:48:49] Unknown:
Hey. Guess who showed up in studio today? I have no idea. Who showed up? Buddy McBodface. Oh, that guy. He ghosted us last time. We had to call him. He stuck around on the voice mail, left a really sweet note for 8th month Randier and the rest of us. What a guy. Nice of you to join us, mate. Buddy, you're a really good guy. Just want you to know that.
[00:49:10] Unknown:
So I understand that you guys are breaking Clab Miner monthly up into 2 different shows.
[00:49:16] Unknown:
Yeah. We are. One's going to be called Ungovernable Misfits action news. And the other one's gonna be Ungovernable Misfits PMM, and then that'll be have some minor stuff, mesh to del stuff, whatever the hell we wanna do, basically.
[00:49:33] Unknown:
That's what it's gonna be. And the one that we've just recorded, the Plebminer Monthly action news. That is what sort of bit of news mainly burping. Yeah. That's not We're talking about dogs.
[00:49:48] Unknown:
Shitting everywhere. Yeah. It's supposed to be more succinct than that, isn't it? It's supposed to be quick fire and news and yeah, I'm not sure I'm not sure we're capable of it. No. I have to chat. Either. Yes. Hey. That's why the show is different. Certainly. But, anyway, yeah, body. It's it's gonna be it's not Plebminer monthly action news. It's Ungovernable Misfits action news. Get to know your own brand, Max. Come on. Mhmm. Uh-huh. We'll do. And yes, body, the next one will be more mesh to del Pleb minor kind of stuff.
[00:50:19] Unknown:
Does this mean I get more airtime? Can I finally have a menu to express myself? To let you all know how truly ungovernable I am, how I am not just a Bitcoin miner, but a permaculture practitioner. Can I share with you all how I am building my own mesh toggle network where I live, that I sell honey at my local Bitcoin meetup, fueling our local circular economy? Do I get to tell you how missus Marty and I created our own homeschool curriculum for our robot children? So, for real, can I get more airtime to discuss these topics, which are so close to my heart?
[00:51:06] Unknown:
John, what's your thoughts?
[00:51:11] Unknown:
We'll think about it. We'll think about it, buddy.
[00:51:17] Unknown:
I'm not we're not gonna let him have more airtime. I just don't think it's wise. He can't hear this because he's not programmed to hear something of this low frequency, but Yeah. That was smart. I just think he's gonna really bore the listeners. And I think, especially as it's a new show, and it's like a fresh start and stuff. Yeah. You know, we've got some work to do on ourselves, but if we start introducing more from him, it's just gonna go downhill very fast. Yeah. He can be a real buzzkill sometimes.
[00:51:47] Unknown:
Yeah. You can. I also,
[00:51:50] Unknown:
think his children are a bit ugly as well. His wife's fucking hot. Yeah. I don't know how those kids turned out so fuckly. Yeah. I know. She's smoking hot. Yeah. But anyway, I digress. We just say maybe. We think about it, and then we, you know, we just sort of just never actually do it. Just leave it along. Alright.
[00:52:12] Unknown:
Alright. So, yeah, buddy. We'll we'll think about it. Definitely. I mean, it's a dynamic show, so anything can happen. I think that was good.
[00:52:22] Unknown:
We'll get back to you, mate, for sure. Mhmm.
[00:52:25] Unknown:
Before we move on, I want to just say thank you to everybody that I met in Nashville or hung out with in Nashville. We had the Plebminer crew down there, and it really was like a gang, I I posted a GIF. Oh, by the way, I have a new Twitter account, so please follow it. It's prevhashnonce, p r e v, hash, nonce, n o n c e. You ought to know how to spell that. Anyhow, I was down there with the crew, and I posted a GIF on the Twitters of, Reservoir Dogs walking in the street, and it really felt like that. I gave out hoodies to everybody, Pleb minor hoodies. Just to see those hoodies, like, dispersed in the crowd, you know, talking to people or go to the panels, and you see them in the audience. Like, that was that was really cool. And it wasn't just, like, guys that were there. These are creators in the space, builders, inventors, innovators, very exciting to see. It was Chet, baseload, bern mania, schnitzel, a guy named Alan, who's not too active on Twitter, but super cool dude. Tech engineer, b Rocket Miner, a BTC speedboat. I'm not gonna say his real name. I don't know what he wants to be called as far as NIM goes. Mehdi, of course.
Body was there. And friends of the show, Scott 9000 from Bitax, I had a good conversation with him, and firmware genius, wonder kid, Brett Rowan, was there. So I gave them all hoodies, and and that was cool. Even met people that I knew, you know, on Twitter, I knew they were on Twitter, unit of account unit of account came up to me. He's like, hey. Are you John? I was like, yeah. He's like, oh, hey. I'm I'm unit of kinda the big fan of the show and everything like that and, talked to him, and he's got a super cool Telegram channel where they have all this documentation and information and books that have been published on all kinds of different topics. And he's a huge meetup kind of guy and knows all kinds of people, so that was cool to meet him. I found the interesting part of being there in Nashville was, as with all these mining things, there's all kinds of corporate y people there doing cool things in the space. I'm not saying just because you're part of a larger mining organization or you're a corporate y type that you're a total fucking douchebag.
Mhmm. I just relate to the blue collar people. It's just who I am. I just I really can't relate to you. But we all attract each other. Like, all the blue collar folks we're kind of hanging out. And even the volunteers there at Bitcoin Park, that's who I end up spending the most time talking to. It wasn't the organizers of the event. It wasn't the big sponsors of the event. It was the guy, like, making coffee or taking out the trash. These people that just volunteer at Bitcoin Park. Josh at Bitcoin Park who's I don't know. The guy's like a beast. You know? Before, I was talking about Ben from Lake Satoshi. Like, Ben moves around the entire time at the Lake Satoshi event doing a 100 different things. Everywhere you turn, you look around. Like, there's Ben there. There's Ben there. There's Ben there. Doing this and that. Josh is like the Ben of Bitcoin Park. Guy was just doing shit all over the place. And I noticed he had you know, the old clothing line had a sewn in ungovernable misfits tag on the front of the hoodie? Do you remember that? Oh, so old school. Yeah.
It was the old samurai one. Oh. That's what Hoodie ended up. And I said, wait a minute. What is it? Hey. That's an ungovernable miss. He's like, oh, yeah. Yeah. You you guys are great. Anyway, I spent a lot of time talking to him. Another volunteer down there, Sam, spoke to him. I think he's gonna come to Lake Satoshi. So it was just cool because we I don't know. We were all like it was just like a crew. It gave me a good opportunity to talk about our new sponsors because they're very plebby. They're very blue collar. There was a guy down there in Nashville who was building a snow melt immersion system. I need to hear more from this guy. I don't want to know what's so special about his snow melt immersion system. I mean, it's just a send the first loop out or send a second stage loop out and put it underneath asphalt or concrete or whatever and melt the snow. But we'll see. Give him a chance. He needs all these custom parts for for the prototype, and I was like, oh, Bifrost Manufacturing would be perfect for you because Bifrost Manufacturing is Blue collar. It is scrappy. It is plebby. It's just like us. Like, you know, you can have a guy like Chet who can build and operate a large scale mine, but you're never gonna take the pleb out of him. He's still gonna do pleb things at that mine, help people rebuild s nines, buy pallets of s nines, and pallets of s nines and fix them and give them out for free. Invite people in and teach them how to repair boards and operate the mine and stuff. You'll never take that pleb part out of us, and I think that's kind of what Bifrost is like there. They can build large immersion tanks for a a larger mining organization, or they can talk to people like the snow melt guy and scan and 3 d print you a particular fitting or part for your immersion tank that is going to melt snow.
[00:57:02] Unknown:
Yeah. I was pretty blown away with the 3 d metal printing stuff. I genuinely had no idea that that was a thing. This just makes things there's just so many possibilities now. They can just scan parts and then 3 d print them. Not with shitty plastic,
[00:57:19] Unknown:
but with metal. It's fucking cool. One of the first things you said to me when we got off that call was, like, I don't know. I have, like, a and so many art ideas Yep. With the ability to think about art and produce it and outsource it to these guys to to do some of the work. Can you talk a little bit about that?
[00:57:38] Unknown:
Not really. But I do have some ideas. One of them, I've already messaged them about And waiting to hear back on that one. Yeah. I've got a scrapbook full of ideas, which, I'm gonna be working on because, yeah, it just It made me very excited. I was like, I didn't know some of this stuff was even possible. And even if it was possible, it's like, who do you really trust and who can you actually pay in coin and all that kind of stuff. And so,
[00:58:03] Unknown:
I'm very excited to get back to it. The first thing that came to my mind was home heating builds and how everybody 3 d prints this stuff. And do I exactly want this hot card to be inside a plastic enclosure? No. I'm not sure that that perhaps an actual manufacturing organization can take care of that. By the way, they have big 3 d printers as well. And if you're a 3 d printing guy, they have filament. They make filament there. This is the beginning of the supply chain. So if you need custom color custom colored filament, they can make a shitload of it for you. They do all kinds of things. Nice. I believe they have engineers and drafters on-site.
They have welders. This isn't just somebody pressing a button in the machine doing a lot of the work. Very cool, very innovative company. I can't wait for the plebminor synergy to get hold with Bifrost Manufacturing and see what things people come up with. One of the first things that came to my mind was Altair's bit chimney. Altair has a home heating build called the bit chimney. It's a Loki rig build, and I thought, oh, maybe, Altair should have that done by Bifrost Manufacturing. Wouldn't that be cool synergy? And talked to Avril about that, and he's like, well, I it's open source. Do whatever the fuck you want with it. Nice. I thought it was cool. So, maybe somebody will think of some some open of course, modifications to existing builds and, get them over to Bifrost Manufacturing and see what you can't come up with.
One thing I was excited about when Avril had contacted us about Altair sponsoring the show was he does really good reviews of mining gear, he'll break down a piece of machinery and take pictures of it and give me a statistics on the efficiency and how they run at different ambient temperatures and post all kinds of logs and data points and datasets, and I really like that. And we were already using his stuff for the show, so now he gets to help write the show, and I just read his Twitter posts. He did a review on the new s 21, and that's something that's important to talk about because, like, we spoke earlier in the show, 30 4 x of hash worth of machines were ordered in the last quarter of 2023, and much of that is probably s 20 ones.
That's gonna be a lot of hash rate coming online. He says the m minor s 21 brings in the sub 20 joules per terahash efficiency era. 17.5 is what I have heard so far. There's only a few testers out there, checksum 0, Altair, Guy named Marshall Long. I've done some testing on these things. So just giving you Alta Year's version of his tests. First thing you you need to mention is that the power cord is different. The connection used to be this the 2 c4 c fourteens that plugged into the back of the power supply. Now it's just gonna be one that they call the p 13.
It's like a new spec that they made up. So the power chord is gonna go from p 13. It has, like, your 2220 inputs coming in. So your 2 hots and your neutral, and then there's also a third space it's on there. And somebody said maybe that is for 3 phase coming in. Maybe the power supplies are able to do that. I don't know. I don't have any verification on that, but somebody was talking about why is there another plug in there. But the other end of it is going to be a C20. So that will work with all of your previous PDUs. No problem with that. Physically, the s 21 is just about identical to the other s 19 family. That's the k Pro, the j Pro, the XP, but it is £2 heavier.
That's a lot of chips and a lot of junk in there to make it £2 heavier. The s 21 running with Bitmain's firmware was dated when he tested this December 2nd. The web UI is largely the same as the AmtMiner s 19 with the addition of a new warning info panel and serial number field. So So if you're using stock firmware, that will feel the same. His hash rate that he got when tested was 204 terahash with a power consumption of 36 20 watts, which is kind of high, so be aware of that. Efficiency was 17.7 J Perterahash.
Its core voltage was 14 volts. Clock frequency, 4 90, and the ambient temps were 60 degrees Fahrenheit. He also said that the fans are a little bit louder in this machine, so home miners, be aware of that. I know a buddy of mine got an m 50, a What's Minor. And soon as he got it, he was like, these are louder than my m thirties. And my wife is pissed, and now I have to move them out to a shed. So be aware of that if you're gonna replace your home fleet with s 20 ones that that the fans may be a bit louder, and your noise mitigation should be good. How much louder? Do we know as a percentage or
[01:02:46] Unknown:
just louder.
[01:02:48] Unknown:
Let me see. I do believe somewhere in this, he had said 80 dB measured at 3 feet. He said that's 3 to 5 dB louder than most s 19 series minors.
[01:03:01] Unknown:
But as a percentage, that's still relatively
[01:03:03] Unknown:
low. What is that, 5%? I'm like, I don't know. You want me to do math right now? 3%. Come on. I I I can barely can barely handle all this other stuff I got in front of me.
[01:03:13] Unknown:
Well, it's about that. Alright. So it's not, like, massive, but it's something to consider. Sure. But why I ask is when it's, like, it's more, you could be like, oh, it's it's more. It's enough to, like, have to move them because the missus was annoyed. Maybe it's stubble. And it's like, well, actually, no. It's not. So maybe a tiny bit of soundproofing would be enough. I just don't wanna put people off buying something when actually it's minimal.
[01:03:39] Unknown:
Alright. So have your excuses ready to go. Have your explanation to your wife right here. Is that louder? It seems louder.
[01:03:47] Unknown:
You say no. You don't do that. You say, no, dear. It's not. The thing is, I've been buying all organic produce because I care about you and our family more than anything. And what you'll find is this is actually gonna make you healthier, and therefore, you're hearing better. And so what's happened is, you've improved, and so's the machine. Everything in the house is better than it was, and we can all be happy.
[01:04:12] Unknown:
Holy shit. How do you come up with that stuff that quick? This is why I people need to be prepared. Not everybody is as quick as you with this bullshit. Professional, mate. I'll say, Altair Technology also tested it on low power mode, which you got a 159 Terahash, 16.8 joules per terahash, 2681 watts. So I think that's your that would be a good home miner setting, possibly. I I don't know. The low power mode doesn't really give you it's not like a huge increase. 17.7 joules per terra ash to 16.8. It isn't like some of the tuning that you can do with j pros, for instance, where you're starting off at 28 and a half, 29, and you can get them down to 25. Or even the k pros, their stock is 23, and I think I saw somebody yesterday that was, like, got it down to 20. So maybe maybe the low power mode needs worked on a bit when when they get some firmware updates. The fans, this is something to understand on the control board, and we may have talked about this on the last episode. On the k pros, you had 2 flat connectors and 2 square connectors. That was a change, and that kinda threw a lot of the, the Lord board Loki folks, Bombsta folks out of whack because you couldn't just slide the card into the standard slots well, now they're all square. So that is a change, but it might make it easier. The fan connections are now all square. He says the hash boards look a lot like the s 19XP.
They are aluminum backed with bolt on heat sinks. There are quite a few. And they have surface mounted electronic components on the leading edge of the card. But, thankfully, they seem to be covered in epoxy armor to minimize oxidation and moisture damage. And it's the same way on the j pros, for instance. This big giant heat sink goes on there, and there are some components it's on the front, which I find a little bit harder to clean. I'm just gonna get right in there with some air, but I'm always worried about am I damaging these things with the air. Anyway, the ones on these are covered.
[01:06:03] Unknown:
What do they clean them with? Is it, like, ultrasonic
[01:06:06] Unknown:
or something like that? You get these ultrasonic cleaners, and some of them look like a big dishwasher that you can throw the components into. I just use air. I don't know if you ever seen the videos like people cleaning s nines with water, which you can technically do. Yeah. Yeah. Like, spray them with a hose. Not while they're on.
[01:06:24] Unknown:
Oh, okay. Fuck off. Still though, really?
[01:06:29] Unknown:
Yeah. Spreading the hose. You can just get the jet wash on it. It's fine. It's not like it's an electrical equipment or anything. It's not like you're gonna plug it into mains power or anything like that. We're talking about the Telegram group the other day. There was somebody was looking at a pallet of s nineteens that were left out in the rain. One guy was in there. I was like, I don't know. I'll take a chance on them. We'll see. Fuck. To finish it off, Altair Technology says, overall, the Antminer s 21a is a major upgrade over the Antminer s 19 series. The unit that they received had substantial efficiency degradation with rising ambient temps, that's something we need to talk about too. This may be because of the early production unit, and, hopefully, Bitmain can tackle this issue with a future firmware upgrade. Yeah. I saw a post the other day by a guy, and he said it was 98 degree ambient temperatures outside, the machine shut down because of high chip temps. And then I asked someone else. I asked checksum 0. Hey. You got a test unit. Did you find these same conditions? And he's like, I have fucking mine in Paraguay. It's motherfucking hot. No. It's fine. So I don't I don't know what to think. It it is something that people are talking about, and I'm just relaying the information.
Up next, we have action news, or should I say action news.
[01:07:45] Unknown:
This is Ungovernable Misfits action news, your trusted source more news on the Bitcoin mining scene. We go beyond mining stats to keep you skinny, slow down, the info you need to know. Our book 10 of journalists are dedicated to uncovering the stories that matter most. Turn up the face with Base Sloan, contributing maverick the journalist's dictator from the Bitcoin bugle and the ever present Bernie Magish. And now your hosts, Max bit by bit and John Gee
[01:08:22] Unknown:
yeah, what a different intro Hey. Welcome to Uncoverable Misfits action news. This is the action news part, not the statistics part. It's 2 different parts, believe it or not. Not 20. Action News is brought to you by the late Satoshi Bitcoin Beach Retreat. Max, when I was in Nashville, I met with many people down there. One of them was named Sam, and he was one of the volunteers, and he knew about Lake Satoshi Bitcoin Beach Retreat. He is from that area of the world, he missed it last year, but had assured me that he would not be missing it this year. People are coming far and wide for this event now, including one of our precious Meshedelians, I won't reveal who it is, but he is coming from afar to attend this event. I think I might know who this might maybe be. Yeah. That I'm like, out of my fucking mind excited about spending time with this person.
Every month I get more jealous. Yeah. I'm doing all kinds of stuff. Hanging out with people. Then you get to sit in the UK with your little shitting dog, not see anybody. That's not true. You get out there. Anyways, the Lake Stoshi Bitcoin Beach Retreat is a very meshedadelian event, bringing people together. I think it's gonna be a lot different than it was last year given that I don't know. I spent a decent amount of time, like, in the workshop at events, and I think that's good for a lot of people in the entry level parts of Bitcoin. But this happens, and this happens in the mesh de l. And that's why we get participation in the mesh de l. And we get people so excited about the mesh de l's because they're like, alright. Once they see Bitcoin, and then they understand the community that Bitcoin is, and then they want to be part of it, and they want to participate. And that's the part that's gonna be really on fire. I talked about it before because, getting DK and Carl and Jackie Hoddle, they're gonna be bringing some of their farm stuff there. There's gonna be a little farmers market. I'm gonna try to figure out some stuff to bring. Maybe I'll bring some Ungovernable Misfits clothing or mister Crown art and resell it for a huge profit.
[01:10:26] Unknown:
Yeah.
[01:10:27] Unknown:
Rake them over the coals.
[01:10:29] Unknown:
Yeah. Do it. A 150% markup from the website. Yeah.
[01:10:34] Unknown:
You can take advantage of those deals August 10, 2024, the weekend of August 10th, in Lansingburg, Michigan at the Lake Satoshi Bitcoin Beach Retreat. That's lakesatoshi.com or bitcoin 101.io. Buy our expensive clothing. Actually, the clothing, as a side note, that was a huge hit. Those hoodies were a huge fucking hit, Max. That's you and Crown, and I don't I think I can't dox our printing guy and our printing guy. People fucking love him, for real, how did the fans down the arm come out? Awesome. Did you see my new profile pic on Twitter? That's prevhashn0nse at Prevhashn0nce, p r e v h a s h n o n c e. Please follow my new Twitter account.
You can tell it's him because there's a picture of a complete non supple pole. Complete non supple pole. Well, while in that picture, I, like, put my arm out so you could see the fan guards. Awesome. Yeah. They came out really well. I've been through the wash a couple times. Looked good.
[01:11:41] Unknown:
Excellent. Nice printing. I'm getting mine finally tomorrow, actually. Driving halfway across the country to go and pick up my own clothes.
[01:11:51] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, you were certainly prepared to print your own stuff, but, life comes at you fast.
[01:11:57] Unknown:
It does. Too busy. Do you know what else I realized? We found someone through the mesh to del groups and someone that we both know and respect who has done it for a very long time and is extremely skilled and knowledgeable. And I was like, I just wanna send them some sats and them do the best job possible. Like, yeah, I'll get good at it over time, and and I'd improve over time. And it's a skill that you have to some time on, which I don't have. Yeah. I'd rather just make sure that, like, the absolute best goes out to the people buying it. And I'm happy because I'm sending sats to someone who I know is holding those sats
[01:12:38] Unknown:
and isn't some fucking corporation bullshit that I'm sending 2. So I'm very happy. It realises the mesh to del vision too, and that's always exciting every time that gets realized. Yeah. Circular economy. Think about it that way, did you? No. No. Thanks for enlightening me. Yeah. Sure. No problem. The coolest panel that I had attended, and this is the first story on action news that I wanna talk about is there was an ASIC chip discussion, and you might think this a bit one of the more boring panels, but it wasn't. It was really exciting, especially for me because I don't know anything about ASIC chip production, engineering, manufacturing, design, so on and so forth. None of us do. We run all these machines with thousands and thousands of these chips in the machines, and we really don't get an understanding of how they're designed and how they work. Ian will say things, oh, 5 nanometer design, 3 nanometers. I I really don't even know what that means. I just know, like, 3 is better. Smaller better. Smaller, better. The size thing, it was explained in this way, is you're just getting more bang for your buck. You can fit more of these transistors, more of these engines inside that particular surface area. So if you have smaller engines that are just powerful, you can fit more of them in that surface area. Mhmm. I was excited to share that analogy. Pretty good. Yeah. Half the audience was like, oh, yeah. I already knew that. But this is for the other half.
The people on the panel were Scott 9000, the BitX open source creator. A guy named Gary, and I didn't get his last name, although we hung out one of the nights and went to Kid Rock's bar, but I had no idea what this guy's last name is. He works for Intel and is the Pleb Miner. We probably talk more about mining than ASIC chip development when he was on this panel, and then some other guy named Mike. Some of the things that Scott brought up where he was just super excited about everybody that is taking this BitX open source design and running with it. I've seen a decent amount of designs on Twitter where people are taking the bid x design, putting chips on something, putting cool fans on their 3 d printed enclosures. It's just a neat community to watch from afar. I'd I really would like to build my own and be part of that. I made a suggestion on a podcast last month in in December. What's the name of the pod? Dabbling Path? Mhmm. Oh, that was it. I gotta write dabbling path. Yeah. He asked me the question, like, so what should people do if they want to get into mining? And I said don't. You know, you you really you have to get over that hurdle. If you really want into it, you'll get over the fact that I said don't get into it. You know? I said, well, the first thing you do, just get a Raspberry Pi. Download the shuriken pie thing from Urban Hacker. Have at it. Have some fun. If you wanna then get into building and tinkering, look at the bidax design. Get into that. That's mining on a scale and a technical level that's even higher than just buying an industrial machine and plugging it in. They're very simple to deal with, so you might learn some skills the same way the seat center people were soldering pins on top of the the Raspi 0 boards.
It's a similar feel to that. So it was cool to see Scott up there with these Scott's an electrical engineer, super smart guy with these chip designers representing the pleb level of chip involvement and that would be taking bit main ASIC chips off of the board and putting them on a separate board and having your own standalone miner with, just a couple ASIC chips. Also had a great discussion with Scott just about music and and hacking, and and he even knew a decent amount about telephony. Gary described ASIC chips in a really good way, and he said, basically, they're search engines. All those chips are just a search engine searching for a nonce. That was another analogy that I wanted to share with everybody.
A machine full of little tiny search engines. Mhmm. They always talk about this thing, and Schnitzel spoke to you about it when you guys did your interview that the ASIC chips can be pulled out in this way and put into all kinds of different heating applications, small small scale heating applications. That was neat to hear an Intel chip designer talk about that. Do you think that they don't understand the things that we talk about? Like, what did Schnitzel say? Putting ASIC chips in a tea kettle or something like that or, putting the ASIC chips in a hairdryer. Why don't we do that? But that guy, Gary, was actually talking about it up on stage, an Intel chip designer talking about all of the Pleb minor applications that we come up with. They also spoke about heat reuse applications.
The other guy on the panel, Mike, had mentioned, that hotel in New York that is heating pools with immersion systems. And there's also some other place called Satoshi Brewery that he mentioned Mhmm. That is doing the same thing. So once again, sometimes I feel like, oh, we're the only ones talking about this stuff. The industrial side of things, they don't. That's not true. They do. They they were talking about heat reuse left and right at this conference, people of all levels were talking about heat reuse. So it's it's exciting. It's it's that GIF, that Ron Paul GIF. It's happening. You know? It just feels that way. That's cool to hear. Yeah. Another panel that, was awesome to see was the econo did a panel called Citadel Mining. And old Barnaby was up there with this Blood Miner hoodie gun. He's going, it was cool to see Barnabyder up there on a on a panel. It was a it was, like, basically, a home mining panel and everybody sharing their stories and pain and triumphs of trying to do this home mining thing. And Ikana's wife was in the audience sitting next to me, and she's, like, chimed in a couple times. Like, yep. I can verify that. Sometimes you'll melt the drop come to your house, and you gotta know how to know how to turn off because your husband's not home. Love it. So that was a good panel. That's my little update from Nashville. Mainly for me, it was the community side of things, talking to mother blue collar type plebs, hanging out with folks. You know? Like, I get to hang out with this Intel chip designer. I don't know. That's a that's pretty cool to me. Mehdi drove us all downtown in his really small vehicle that should not be a 7 passenger vehicle by any freaking means.
And Chet and this guy, Gary, are in the back squeezed in, and and, I don't know. It was just a it's a good sense of community. I I I like hanging out with those guys. Sounds like a good time. Up next on Ungoverable Misfits action news, we've got a Dick Greaser. I'm calling Dick Greaser as, being in our stable of journalists. It's like a guest journalist here at Ungovernable Misfits. So, anyway, we've got a story from Dick Reeser. Bitcoin miners may be some of the most destructive individuals operating in our world today. The negative externalities that they produce pale in comparison to the negative externalities that we experience from monopolistic corporations and government.
While there has been great work in the past to cover Bitcoin mining shortcomings, such as water usage, driving up energy prices, basic carbon output, no one has discussed the heat produced by the miners themselves and how this inevitably will raise the world's temperature at an alarming rate. This issue first came to the bugle's radar after a man was arrested in Canada for intentional climate change while heating his home with an Antminer s 9. The Canadian government was able to see that this individual was using Bitcoin mining to intentionally warm the climate and put that dangerous activity to a stop. Bitcoin mining has grown at an alarming rate as the price has continued to appreciate.
In 2023, Bitcoin mining used almost as much energy as Christmas lights, but produced 100 times the amount of heat. On the current trajectory, miners could ruin Christmas for children around the world who cannot afford to run Christmas lights. Not only that, Miner's intentional climate change could be, definitely is because it's convenient to the bugle's point, playing a major role in creating wild swings in weather. Just this week, 25% of Bitcoin's hash rate went offline due to erratic winter weather, clearly exasperated by Bitcoin miners.
Not only does Bitcoin miners' intentional climate change hurt normal people, But it also hurts the miners themselves. There are clear ways to combat this, though, and make Bitcoin mining more equitable for all. There are solutions to the problems we face, but it's vital that we have good and honest data when we are evaluating the problems presented by Bitcoin Mining. It is obvious that the climate issues are the primary concern in regard to mining and not that the Chinese control the entire ASIC market, Or that one company makes 90% of all mining hardware.
We should hold major mining companies accountable for warming the climate and shriek at them Until there is corrected behavior. While some propose moving Bitcoin to proof of stake in order to resolve climate related issues, The real innovation would not be in killing Bitcoin. Instead, there can be major growth in the hardware side to offset concerns. To eliminate the carbon produced by computers, we can attach carbon capture devices to them, essentially turning each into 1 carbon negative air filter. We can also explore ideas like the ice cube miner, as well as looking into how to minimize Bitcoin's water usage. Could Bitcoin transactions rely on saltwater instead of fresh water? There, these are the questions that must be asked.
[01:21:53] Unknown:
I like what you've done there, mate. What? Just adding in the music and the way you've read it was different to the usual. Oh, well, I'm glad. I'm happy to please you. You prepared for that.
[01:22:06] Unknown:
Yeah. Yes. I'm prepared. That was Bitcoin Mining, an inconvenient truth where intentional climate change hurts us all by Richard Greaser. Richard
[01:22:17] Unknown:
Dick Greaser at the Bitcoin News. Dick. Thanks, Dick. Yeah. Indeed. Ruining Christmas for kids around the world.

You know, I like Dick Reeser because he's an environmentalist, so that means he cares about people. Mhmm. All environmentalists care about people. Up next on Ungovertible Misfits action news. We've got a Bitcoin baseload update.
[01:23:15] Unknown:
I've recycled that and changed it up a little bit. We had that in a few shows back. No one would have known. You groused yourself up there, mate.
[01:23:22] Unknown:
They know. Everybody keeps really close track of all this music that we put on the show.
[01:23:28] Unknown:
They keep the receipts.
[01:23:30] Unknown:
Yeah. They do. This article is I'm just gonna cover it briefly, and I want you all to please go to ungovernablemisfits this.com. Look into the writings section. Baseload will be contributing regular updates and electricity inflows and insight and alpha, 2 ungovernable misfits over the next few months or so. So please check out all of our writings. We are slowly building a bullpen of writers and bass load is one of them. The title of this article is speaking the electricity language. Can it make sense to everyone? He starts out the article by saying, over the course of my career, folks have asked me, how do I speak to my electric or natural gas utility? Or I tried, and I tried to speak to them about an issue, and I can't get anywhere. Can I do anything? Have you experienced a communication breakdown and or just a failure to communicate properly to any one of the utilities, energy proprietors and others? Well, here's a hard truth. It's one of the most complicated things out there to accomplish, and this article will not solve the problem. But in this writing, Bitcoin Baseload will attempt to give you first some definitions of the entities involved, who they are, what they do, and what is important to them. Then he says he will provide some tips to know and understand when speaking to them to help you become more of an effective communicator to these types of companies that are in the energy world. He goes to the article and gives you a nice little picture of the power generation station, all the transformers that they have to go through transmission lines to get to your home, your business, your facility.
So I think it's important that he goes through these definitions so you understand that when you call your electric provider, they may not be the power generation station, and then most likely they're not. He goes in this article and says, your local utility's main concern is reliability, is physically getting you the electricity to your location, they're in charge of that drop off transformer if you want them to be. They're in charge of that reliability, the delivery part of that. So when you start calling and talking about tariffs to these people, that might not be the right organization. So please refer to this article, and everybody needs to understand these terms. What an electric utility is? What an independent power producer is, what vertically integrated utility means, what a coop is. A municipality may be in charge of your electric, what a PUC is, what a retail electric provider is, what a qualified scheduling entity is. Baseload has gone over these terms through various shows that we've been on, even the Troy Cross interview that we did, Max, we had a in the show notes, a whole list of all of these terms. Yep, one thing that this Nashville conference exemplified is that people need to know energy in this industry. That's why the thing was called the Energy and Mining Summit even had the CEO of the Tennessee Valley Authority down there. That is a electric I'm not even gonna say which one it is because I'll probably get it wrong.
They're in charge of a lot of power plants down there in Northern Alabama and Tennessee. Tennessee Valley Authority was initially like a creation of the Roosevelt administration during the great depression to deliver to rural areas of the United States into the dirty South. Without Tennessee Valley Authority, Nashville would not be the city that it is today. So to have the CEO of TVA down there talking about energy to a bunch of Bitcoin miners, this is a small room. This is a small event down there. It was really exciting. So listen. That's what the industry is doing. They're getting educated. During that talk, this was funny. I was sitting in the front row, and Baselow was, like, standing up behind me because he was gonna ask a question. And every time, you know, this there was a senator in there too, senator Hagerty, this TVA guy, and somebody conducting the panel. The bass load is like doing, hey. Yo. Yes. You know? Dude, he's making all these comments behind me. Yes. Hey. Yo.
And I was like, oh, man. I can't wait till he asks a question. Then it came to the q and a part, and I looked behind me, and he's gone. He had left his bag somewhere. They left his bag in an Uber, and the Uber driver showed up to deliver the bag back, and he had to go freaking get it. And then he comes back in, and they didn't go to him to ask a question. I thought that was fucked up. Everybody in the room is looking back at Baseload. Like, oh, is he gonna ask a question now? Well, like, this guy's been priming ready for a question. As soon as we're gonna go to him, fucks off and just leaps.
[01:27:47] Unknown:
He's got a skull on his back.
[01:27:49] Unknown:
He did. He did. He had the hoodie on. So I can understand that. Yeah. Fucking let that guy speak. Hey. They missed out. We're the ones that got the base load alpha. So fuck them. Good point. He goes over what a deregulated electricity supply market is. Anyway, go to uncover to memorize these terms. Now to get to the meat of the article, how you should be speaking to these people. How should I say this? I mean, I'm paraphrasing everything in in the article, but, like, he advises not to come at them with all kinds of technical terms. Maybe play dumb a little bit or tune it down just a tad. Say, listen. I'm I'm mining Bitcoin, and and and I'm gonna require x amount of kilowatt hours per month, and and and I need to have a transformer that's this size. And I've read through the tariffs, and, like, the lady on the phone might be the first person you talk to that needs to hand it off to the engineer or hand it off to somebody in in a different department. So don't just blast them with all kinds of stuff. Good to know. Play dumb. Play dumb. I can do that. Mission accomplished.
He also says this is funny. This is kinda cute because it's like his personality. Smile when you're on the phone with them because it will be funny. You used to be in sales, so you get that
[01:29:04] Unknown:
smile. Oh, I loved that so much.
[01:29:07] Unknown:
Smiling while on the phone with potential customers.
[01:29:10] Unknown:
No. I wouldn't have mind if phone sales is more my bag. I had to do in person sales, and that was not fun.
[01:29:17] Unknown:
Yeah. With that voice. Hey, you know who complimented your voice while in Nashville?
[01:29:21] Unknown:
Tell me. Matt O'Dell. Did he? What did he say? I love that voice. He just said that,
[01:29:27] Unknown:
people trust everything you say because of your voice. They should do. You should let everybody know that you have the finest clothing available. I have the finest clothing available that John will be selling at a 150%
[01:29:40] Unknown:
markup, which is his true value. Absolutely. Just trying to get what it's worth. We're just selling it a massive discount, but he's gonna sell that at its true value.
[01:29:50] Unknown:
And you can believe that because I said it. Because you said it. And you can believe that I said it and it's right because Matt O'Dell also approves it. Can confirm. Thanks, Matt. I thought that was pretty nice. He's like, who the fuck are you? I said, oh, I ride on that Max bit by bits coattails all the time. You know me.
[01:30:08] Unknown:
Yeah. You do, motherfucker. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:30:12] Unknown:
Yeah. Anyway, he goes on in the in the article to give you additional advice that you will have to look up at ungovernablemisfits.com under writings. He says if you have trouble, just ask someone who has energy experience. Imagine that. Don't go out on it on your own. I'm gonna read this part verbatim. It says, if you're having trouble or you're scared to talk to these people, there are people that can give you some guidelines. Every utility bill is different, speaks differently, and almost everyone is unique from Washington state to Maine to Florida to Texas, reading tariffs are really hard, but people do them. Bayslow does them. There are good folks out there that are positioned in a way to help you navigate the wild west of electricity.
There is no reason for anyone to fall victim to improper charges or rates. Think about this. Every utility has their rates published, especially if the rate was determined by a rate case filing in the court system. The utility goes to the courts. This is me talking now. They get it with the PUC and they say this is what we're gonna charge and the PUC says okay. So you can look up the information. It is there. He says it's technically open source. However, reading one will cause you to fall asleep or to stare at the thing for hours. If you need help, pay Bassload, and he will help you. Very few people in this industry do what he does. So throw the guy some sats, and he'll help you make more
[01:31:33] Unknown:
Bitcoin cheaper. How does he not fall asleep? Does he do speed or something? He his brain is different, as you may know It's different. Alright.
[01:31:43] Unknown:
Uh-huh. Mhmm. And that's it. This has been Ungovertible Misfits action news. Now well, Max, I just want to thank the audience for coming along this ride as we hunt and peck and poke and figure out the character of this new show format.
[01:32:10] Unknown:
Yes. We appreciate you. It wasn't short. It wasn't sharp. But I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it as well. And I hope that you've all learned something about dog shitting, burping Mhmm. Gay robots trying to jump in on our show. Superheroes, capes, and everything else that matters in the mining world. Yeah. These are hard hitting mining topics.
[01:32:35] Unknown:
See you next time, fuckers.
[01:32:37] Unknown:
Oh, I missed the fuckers.
[01:32:39] Unknown:
