Quickly describing things...anyway...Power and Politics

This is the AnyWay podcast with your host, Jesse Fries.   Well, we have a new president of the United States, Donald j Trump.   Watched the whole inauguration yesterday. That was interesting.   And the politics   just kept going and going and going. You know, the dirty politics and everybody saying things and everything like that back and forth and back and forth.   So, yeah, that all actually brings me up to what I want to talk about today.   Anyhow,   how do politics actually work? This is, my little diatribe on it. So politics is a power play.   Politicians want power. The parties want power.  

To get the power, they are ever changing and trying to find an issue that can drive the public in their direction.   They know they can't get everyone on their side, but if they   can build a bigger coalition   than the other party,   then they win.   The democrat strategy is generally to build a majority coalition out of minority groups.   These include women, blacks, Latin Americans, LGBTQ,   the educated, the youth.   And,   a new addition has been the military industrial complex.   Yes. Yes. I know some of you Democrats don't like to hear that.   But   there if you just scratch the surface,   you can really see that the military industrial complex is a Democratic   sort of issue nowadays.  

Now on the other hand, the Republican strategy is to build a majority   out of the majority player, men,   especially the white male. They also are bringing in the working classes of all the races.   Also, those that feel like the system is broken,   the religious,   and also the non interventional   non interventionalists,   when it comes to global power.   I'm not really sure how   Greenland and the Panama Canal issues fit in with nonintervention,   but that's what it is generally.   Another way you could think about that,   both Democrats and Republicans,   is that the Democrats are building a coalition out of people who believe they have no power, the minorities.  

And the Republicans are building a coalition out of people who believe   they are being attacked   by those trying to take a power   that doesn't even exist.   So   politicians on both ends are trying to get power from people who don't feel like they have any power.   At least most of the people don't have power. Some of them, of course, do.   And so with this, they can   it's so with this, they will call each other bad names   like communist or Nazi   because it riles up their bases.   And if their bases are riled up,   the bases will do whatever and believe whatever the politicians say.   Of course, each side has their own powerful people, but there aren't too many of them.  

And the powerful usually use the politicians for their own ends.   You could see that it really is a power issue.   Many times, you will see a politician verbally assault another on TV.   But then,   they will turn around   and then actually be friends and go out to have drinks and go out to have dinner   with those that they just blamed for all the evils in the world.   This is classic politics,   and it needs to happen this way,   especially this last part.   If a politician truly believed all the bad things they say of their opponents, then they wouldn't be willing to get in the same room and negotiate to find a workable compromise   on the important matters facing   the state or the country.  

And just like your kids, politicians will tell you what you want to hear so they can get what they want.   In your kids' case, it's Robux.   In your politician's corner, it's power.   So just remember that Democrats are communists   and Republicans   are Nazis.
