Cole McCormick:
I picked things up and put them down. What's up, everyone? It's America Plus. I'm your host, Cole McCormick. It's another week, another episode. What's going on, everybody? It's Monday morning. Monday morning. I'm a little late on the recording. It's okay. July 1st. I wanted to get this July 1st action, dude. This July 1st energy. Dude, I think we're in, like, the summer solstice or something. Something like that, dude. It's getting hotter. Days are getting way longer. I'm eating dinner at, like, 8:30 because I'm like I like to eat when the sun comes down. I'm really primal like that. I'm like a primal eater.
And, like, does anyone else, like, have that rhythm? Like, during the winter, you sort of wanna have, like, an earlier dinner because it's gonna be dark at by, like, 4:45. It's gonna, like, be ridiculous. That's just the way I do things, I guess. This week, folks, at America Plus, welcome to another beautiful week. What I wanna talk about, I wanna stay on this topic of health. Last week, I was talking about, like, my numbers and, like, my goals with my body. This week, I wanna go into the, a different realm of, like, where my, like, interest and attention is when it comes to, like, health stuff.
And that's, like, the business side of things. And for a long time now, I've been, like, trying to, like, figure out, like like, different business ideas, like, different, like, experiences that, like, I could possibly do in the world that would, like, involve, like like, healthy stuff, community stuff that would involve communal stuff, you know, like, experiential stuff like that. So I've been thinking about businesses for gyms, and movie theaters, and parks, and, like, different things like that. And focusing on the health topic, I have ideas for for, like, this, like, weird now here it is. I'm I'm I'm just gonna run through this idea with you, and the purpose of this is to, like, bounce ideas off. Like, if you're a healthy person, you should care about where you, like, exercise and where you put your energy. You know? And I think when it comes to gyms in particular, just like just gyms as a business, I don't I I don't like it. Like, it's no good. Like, it it's it's, like, gross, grimy, awkward, scammy.
Gyms as a business in the health industry $17 for my I pay $17 for my gym membership. My 24 hour fitness, it's such I I I have access to, like, the entire, like, SoCal, the entire, like, south side of California. I pay $17. The only reason I do is because when I went there to sign up, they were shut down for some reason. They had some plumbing issue or something. They had to shut down for, like, 3 hours, and then they gave me some 50% off discount. So, I don't pay a lot for my gym membership, but a lot of people pay like, $40, $30, $50 and higher, depending on the type of bougieness that you want.
But when you go on YouTube, and you look up like, people go on like, different gyms, these gyms are all the same. It doesn't matter if it's Equinox, or 24 Hour Fitness, or an LA Fitness, or like any of the big big brand, and like, even the local stuff, you know, there's not that big of a difference in the gym experience. And my idea is to, like, make it better. You know? Like, this is just like a general, like, I'm trying to make the world better. 1 way to make the world better is through a business idea, clearly. Like, businesses have made Earth a lot more fun, and a lot more, like, interesting, and, like, accessible. So, like, businesses help things. Right? So, like, the gym experience is no good. How can we make it better? Like, the general just a general idea. How can we make gyms better?
My idea my idea is to combine out I have like it's sort of like 2 branches. Okay? 1 idea, 2 branches. We combine things. We combine 2 different sort of businesses. The first option is a gym and a restaurant. And this restaurant is like super scientific. It's super healthy. You're only ordering healthy things, and you can get it to, like, exact numbers of the amount of protein that you want, the amount of carbs that you want. It can be super precise with your diet specifications, and it's all healthy. Like, it's all like natural stuff, like whole food stuff. And then the other branch is a gym and a trampoline park. Do you know what a trampoline park is? It's just a giant room with a bunch of trampolines, and, like, some of them have, like, little games.
We gotta combine different experiences if we want the gym to be a bit more fun and communal, because they're like 1 of the only in life things that people are sort of expecting already. I feel like it might be a cultural norm to have a gym membership, but the cultural experience with gyms is no It's no good. Like, it's not cool. You know, I'm not really 1 to have done, like, a lot of, like, gym shopping, but from my experience, you got the CrossFit gyms, you have the the chain gyms that are, like, nationwide, and you have, like, little random, like, in the garage or, like, little little square in an office unit, of a gym that, like, focuses on, like, functional fitness or a CrossFit, thing. Whatever, like, whatever the fitness niche is, you know? There's usually that, like, that random niche gym around the corner, or or, like, or, like, inside of a corner of a building.
But these things are like like where's the big door? Like like, where's the community thing? Where's like where's the spot? You know? And people like restaurants, and people like to have fun with People like jumping, I think. So this is just like 2 I I know the And this this might seem random, but this is what I think about throughout the week, like, how can I make the world better? Oh. Trampolines, and like eating healthy things. I don't I I I I don't think I finished the trampoline park thing. The the trampoline park, there's so much more to it.
If you're lifting weights on 1 side, I think it makes sense to do the complete opposite, on the other side of the gym. Like, the weights, like, they're dragging you into the ground, and the whole point is to time build time under tension, holding the heaviest weight that you can, and that's how you ground yourself and grow muscle. But then, the other side of it, like, people think about like, functional training, and cardio, but the completely other side of lifting a weight is jumping up and down, because you're not holding on to anything, you know. If you're holding on to anything when you're jumping, I'm not sure if you've been to a trampoline park, it's like, you you barely have your balance, you have to focus on where your whole body is, and and if you're holding on to something, maybe you can squeeze on to like, 1 item, your phone.
But you you pretty much need to be like, pretty able to use any limb to be able to like catch yourself, and that's a completely different experience than weightlifting at the gym, or doing any sort of cardio, and it's healthy. Jumping is healthy. I'm sure, like, I'm sure this is true. I'm just going off of instinct here. Jumping is healthy for you. If you haven't been to a trampoline park, I would recommend it. Look for 1. I've been to 1 right by my, family's house in Arizona. My nephew loves this place, and me having like a couple experiences with him jumping around.
Now, remember, he's 5, and I'm like a healthy 20 27 year old, so this is, like, of course, biased to my age and my previous health habits, but I had a phenomenal time jumping around, and I was wicked tired afterwards. You're really using your legs and core to keep your whole balance, and, like, that's like, 3 quarters of your body. So that's, like, a really good skill to have for people. And so, I think it's a good business idea to keep myself healthy, and to keep the community healthy, and a possible, business venture, to keep pockets healthy, is to combine these sort of experiences. And then the other side of it is like the restaurant, of course, like, what kind of a restaurant would you want? Do you want the cafe? Do you want like a little beach tiki?
Like, you're you're only eating kebabs and smoothies? Do you want a steak house next to a gym? Do you want, like there's way too many smoothie spots, like, there's way too many smoothies in the world. I think we need to, like, delete some smoothies from the consciousness. I don't like a smoothie bar. I think a smoothie bar I think smoothie bars are the bigger scams. Like, pay for a gym, whatever you want. The real scam is the smoothies that you get because you know it's all just bullshit flavoring, and syrups, and corn syrup, and protein that's like fucking tainted with some bullshit.
It's just like, it it They're not giving you the best product. You know? So there needs to be more standards. Higher, cleaner standards in this gym experience, and I would love to, like, somehow figure out how to be a part of that, or to, like, lead that? Because that's something that I really think about, because I I I personally don't enjoy going to the gym. I have weights in my apartment. I got really into kettlebells, and steel maces, and clubs, during the pandemic, and so I have my own little gym. I I have a real, like, I have a pretty advanced gym that's in the form of, like, 8 things. Like, my 8 little tools are an incredibly advanced gym, but I don't know how, like like, that's my niche that I'm in. There needs to be some sort of for the masses, experience, you know, and traditionally, that's been used it it's been, it's been used as, as just like general corporate, What's the cheapest way to do it?
You know, the new way that I'm imagining is to actually try to improve the community. Improve, like, try to raise the consciousness, raise the vibes with a fun place to work out at, and have it be for your friends and your family, and an like, a fun place to get healthy. Like, hey, do you wanna, like, do this thing with me? Like, we can either go on a trampoline, or we can go go go to the restaurant and have like a super healthy thing. And what I mean mean by healthy, like, we gotta like source all the food. You know? We gotta make sure it's like grass fed meat. We gotta make sure it's like, healthy healthy plants.
You know, people love local. Local sells. This is my experience. You know, just a general not not not the general way to make it healthy, but like, the right regenerative way to make it healthy. And that's gotta be something that's like that's gotta be something that is a thing that people want, you know, like, I feel like there's a gap. There's just a gap between what people want to do and people have access to. People want to get healthy, but they go to a gym that oversells their shit, and then they sell them more unhealthy shit, and then the person might get addicted to something with like a bunch of sugar, and like, not really build any healthy healthy habits, you know? But if you can make a place that actually encourages that actually sells healthy habits, sells the encouragement of healthy habits, I think that's actually a recipe for, like, goodness, or like a like a situation for a more beautiful world.
Maybe this is just like flu flu like thinking. Like, maybe I'm just an idiot here. Trying to make the world a better place through a company, but I think it's possible, and I would love to hear what you have to think about that, because I'm not sure how many people think about this, you know? Like, when you look up business on YouTube, like, how to start a business, it's a lot of, like this is not bad stuff, but it's a lot of just, like, very like, a a lot of things that have a lot of volume to them, like, businesses that already exist. Like, the only way that we can actually make a more beautiful world is if we use our resources to build economies that are beneficial for humans.
This is 1 reason why you might be interested in Bitcoin because it's building an economy that does not have inflation. So if we can create a community experience, if we can create a business that is not inflammatory to the human experience? Can I make a business that is not inflammatory to humans? Because there's so many businesses that are, and the gym experience, I think is 1 of them. And unless, like, you really know your stuff, and unless you go private, like unless you're someone who likes working out at home by yourself, you know, you're probably just doing what everyone else is doing, and what everyone else is doing is sort of just like they're getting screwed and they're not getting the best thing possible for their health.
Like, there needs to be a higher bar when it comes to buying into health products. Just a higher standard. I'm not talking about laws. I'm just talking about the intention of the company, where the values of the company are. Why isn't there a gym that also has a deal with some rancher, and they source their meat from this place, you know, and they're helping like like the gym like, you paying for the gym's membership and going to the restaurant literally helps them pay for healthy food from some sort of American rancher. You know, a local rancher.
You know, like, that's something that, like, you've never heard of a gym doing that. You know? And of course, like, these are 2, like, radically different businesses that I'm like combining a gym and a restaurant. How successful are restaurants, You know? I don't really have a vision for like like it being like super busy all the time, but it's possible for If you're paying for a health experience, you should be able to have access to some of the most healthy things for yourself, and it should be convenient for you. So does anyone else think about this? Does anyone else think about combining things, like, combining 2 different businesses together for, like, 1 experience?
Like, there's these things of, like, some movie theaters, like, this 1 movie theater in Arizona. They have this thing called it's Harkins. Harkins is the brand. They have this thing called the backlot, where it's the movie theater, but then it's like some sort of arcade and bowling. And then, there's also a bunch of these different things where it's it's a giant arcade, it's bowling, and then they have like 2 movie theater screens, or they have laser tag, and 1 of these things is called, like, Fat Cats in Arizona. And you're just getting a lot of different, like, multi multi dimensional in life entertainment. Like, people like, there's there's axe throwing in moles.
You know? There's axe throwing in moles. There's, the there's a little bit of shopping, and then there's, like, a bunch of, like, Dairy Queens and Orange Julius's and Chick Fil A's and yada yada yada yada candy spots. Like, there needs to be a healthy business in the area. At least 1. There's to be 1 healthy place. And gyms are primed for that. Gyms are primed to have, like, a healthy brand. I don't think gyms have a a healthy brand. Meaning, like, if you look at all the brands of gyms, like, maybe the Gold's Gym brand, sort of like, embodies health, but I don't know about any other 1, you know? And that's a that's a gap that I see that, like, that that that could make a positive impact.
So if you wanna take the idea, take it, dude. I don't care. I'm gonna try to figure out how to do it myself, but if you wanna go for it, make the world a better place. That's something I've been thinking about. That's the value I got, folks. We're gonna head on into the value for value section. America Plus is a value for value show. What that means is I try to think about something interesting and bring it bring it forward to the community, and you're able to reciprocate the value, through time, talent, and treasure. The treasure part is through, 2 ways. I got a PayPal. America Plus has a PayPal, and, you can also send me a boost a gram. A boost agram, by the way, it's in the it's in the fountain app. Go to value for value dot info for more info, then download the fountain dot f m app. It's the best way to support the show. There's, like, 16 different apps where you can send me a boostagram. Fountain is my favorite.
You can send me little bits, little bits of bitcoin called satoshis, and then you can put a little message. I'm reading the Boostagrams from last week right now. This 1 was from number 128. I was talking about just like my I already said it, my health numbers. Talking about body fat percentage. We got this first brew Boostagram from at the mere mortals podcast, Kyren Down. He sends in a beautiful 1, 111 stats. What up, Kyren? Thank you for that. He says so I I guess I was talking about muscle ups last week, doing like a muscle up at the beach. He goes, the trick to the muscle up is doing lots of pull ups. Weighted helped helped me. And being light, AKA born Asian. LOL. Start cutting, and we'll give it a shot in 1 and a half months. On a serious note, it's good that you're looking at these things.
Tracking, like I said in in the YouTube comment, helps, but workouts are a mental battle as well. Creating a routine, dealing with injuries, prioritization, what level of strictness, recovering from a binge, all play a part. Love this topic? Give us more. Yes. Boosting is loving. It's a long boostagram, Kyren. Thank you very much. I'll just give you another Boostar. Boostar. Hope you're enjoying Brazil. I hope you're enjoying the world. I'm excited to see you. Kyren's coming to America, dude. He's coming to LA. I'm I'm about to have I'm about to give Kyren an American experience when he visits LA, and we're gonna be working out together. We're gonna be chilling together. We're gonna have an experience together, folks. I'm excited for Kyron to come to the US.
It's gonna be pretty it's gonna be lit, dude. We're it I can't even it's gonna be lit, Kyrie. It's gonna be lit, Kyrie. I swear, dude. The next boostagram comes in from our friend at Joel w. He sends in his he he has 2 of them. 1, 111 sats. He says, easiest way to cut fat is carb restrict until target until target, in my opinion. Also, time restricted eating. Give yourself an 8 hour window, and first calories at at least 4 hours after waking, and try saving whatever carbs until the last meal. And other than maybe, cream and coffee, stop drinking calories.
Working out will only do so much in that regard, as you tend to eat more. And apologies for my shitty tone in the last episode comment. Was having that exact argument the day before, and I think I broke. Woah. Boost. Joel, it's okay. I'm not offended by boostograms. You sending me money for, to give your honest opinion, That's what I I live for, dude, so do more of it. No worries. And then the last 1 from Joel. He says, and if all else fails, meth.

It's basically
[00:21:58] Cole McCormick:
you put Bitcoin with anything, and all of a sudden, that is more efficient. Yeah. Joel, thank you very much for that, folks. Folks. Thank you to all those people who wanted to donate to America Plus. America Plus is a wild it's a wild place to be, dude. America Plus is the place to be. Yeah, man. This one's gonna be a bit shorter only because I'm just vibing right now. I I I'm not recording on Sunday because I just wasn't in the mood to record on Sunday. Even though I tweeted about it, it was a whole thing, dude. I I pushed off recording until the evening, and then when it got to the evening, I was like, I'm I'm really not in a good mental spot to do it. So now, I'm doing it now on Monday, which is totally fine. It's totally fine. I'm not worried about it.
It's just that time, you know? It's just that season in my life, where I gotta I I need to do what's right for my, like, emotional thing. Like, when I do America Plus, I wanna make sure I'm in a happy mindset and a positive mindset, so I can come to you with an energy that I think you deserve. And that's like a loving energy, and that's 1 that seeks answers, and so I've just been in a place where I need to just record when I feel like recording. Like, re record when I know that I should record. And so, like, today, right now, I knew I I needed to record it. Of course. Of course. Of course. Let's play a a song, dude. I wanna get into the song. So a part of value for value, this is you can send in send in a boost to gram. I can play a song, and I can hook up the person's Bitcoin wallet to my to my RSS feed. You can send a boostagram to them, the song, the band, the artist. This is the most insane thing ever, dude.
This is like the biggest innovation on the Internet, in my opinion. Anytime you hear a song on America Plus, they they are getting 60% of your donation. So I really encourage you to send in a boostagram, to all the bands that you hear on every episode, and to this band in particular. I played this band before, this is a brand new song from them. This is, the retrograde. This is called, Closer to Somewhere, and and this is just, like, incredible, dude. This is, like, a good vibe. It's like I know this is, like, a bit shorter, but, you know, dude, this is just this is where I'm at right now, dude. America Plus, we just do what I we do what we can. We do what we feel like, and we try to make ourselves better. So what I'm gonna do when I stop recording, I'm about to like go to the beach. I'm gonna work out. I'm gonna keep thinking about how to how to better myself. I'm gonna keep thinking about what dreams I wanna accomplish, what goals I wanna accomplish. I'm writing down my goals more often.
I'm getting better at this. I'm journaling more. What I'm trying to communicate on this episode is, I'm gonna head space where I will I'm sort of at a crossroads in my life where I need to make a choice to really go after my goals, or I don't. And like, the the only choice is to make every possible decision that accomplishes my goals, like, to not fuck around anymore, to not to not give up on myself, to not not believe in myself, and to just be the best version of myself. I'm on that journey, and that's all I wanna express that I I'm really trying. I'm a real human being and I'm really trying to be my best self here, and it's an honor to be on this journey. And I'm happy that I'm documenting it for you because that's really what this entire project has been about. That's really what America Plus, sort of, like, started as. I really just wanted to document figuring out a better world while I while I figure out a better version of myself, while I create a better version of myself, while I calibrate, you know, like, it's all, like, moving. It's all, like, twisting, and and sharpening, and and tightening, and, like, it's getting more clear.
It's getting more clear in America part America Plus is a part of that clarity, bringing in that clarity for myself and for everyone around me. Like, that's how we raise the consciousness as well. That's podcasting. That's magic. Anyway, I'm way too high for this episode. Folks, the retrograde, getting closer to somewhere. Send them send them a boostagram. They're getting 60%. Enjoy.

Enjoy.
