Merry Christmas, Miss folks, merry very merry where's the where's the Christmas music? Merry Christmas. Hang on. Maybe I should pull up some. Last year last year on the Christmas episode, I pulled up Charlie Brown. Let me just do that again. Charlie Brown.
christmas . You know, this is one of my favorite favorite favorite Favorite Christmas movies. Last night, Shannon and I were watching, the the holiday. Has anyone ever seen the holiday? Do you have a favorite why is Google not working right now? For some reason, Google's like there we go. Has anyone seen the holiday? There's this meme online going around about if you're, like, if you're a person who watches the holiday or a person who watches love actually, I'm a person who watches Charlie Brown. Oh, isn't this just cozy? It's beautiful.
And as we sit here on this beautiful Christmas morning, folks, just welcome just I'm thankful for you. I'm thinking about my family. I'm going to Arizona soon. I'm going to Arizona tonight. I got a flight at a at no. What do we got? 8 o'clock. I got a flight at 8 o'clock, dude. About to see, the folks, about to see the fam bam. About to see everyone. Do about to see Wyatt. Gonna party with Wyatt. Talk about aliens with Wyatt. I don't have all my Christmas gifts yet, full disclosure, but it's gonna be okay because a lot of gifts today are digital. So we'll be able to get those soon.
This is a weird time to be alive right now, guys. So I got my movie out. Oh, by the way, I finished the I I said we're talking about talking about my movie. I finished. Okay. I finished. I officially officially officially. It's done. My short film, magic mushroom fun time, it's done everybody. I swear. It's I got the final draft in yesterday, And it's good. I think it's good. I'm like I like it. I don't know what else to change about it. This has been a really fun process of making the story and figuring out how to tell the story that I want visually because This is something that started in my head.
And the usual process to tell a visual story is to Either write it down or to draw it out. And I sort of started out drawing it on these index cards. And I knew like, I I somehow knew last year or earlier this year That these index cards would lead to something, and there's like a a seed of something inside of these things. And This year's been 1 big effort. Like, if there's even anything good happening to me, We're not even good. If there if if there's anything just less stressful, the less stressful thing the least Stressful thing has been this movie, has been Magic Mushroom Fun Time.
Been talking about it for a long time. I've been planning a planning it, thinking about it, and there's been changes, and there's been an evolution of things. And the movie made itself As a filmmaker, as a director, as a person who seeks to tell stories like this, you know, there's a real thing about, Like, the movie's alive. The movie is alive. The movie has a soul, dude. And, a part of Crafting is to listen. You have to listen to the people around you and to the ideas coming to you, and you have to listen to the movie itself because The movie will just show you. The movie will show you where it wants to go.
And that's all instinct, and you gotta follow that. And I think I followed it well. I I really don't have any regrets right now. I've watched it multiple times. I don't wanna play any clips yet. I'm releasing it. We're I'm I'm putting out magic motion fun time on the 26th officially, so put that on your calendar. Just one day after Christmas, unboxing day. The reason for that is just so I can make sure all the like, everything's good for the video because the way I'm releasing it, I wanna put it out value for value. I'm putting it out on, I think it's no agenda tube, and I'm fairly certain I saw that you're able to put in splits on no agenda tube.
So, hopefully, I'm able to put in there's only 4 people who helped me make it. So I all I need is 4 splits. I'm pretty sure This no agenda tube gots me covered. But if it doesn't, please let me know if there's a better video If there's a better value for value video platform, I just wanna put up splits. That's the biggest thing. I wanted this movie to be value for value and To emphasize the combination of all these things. As the story has moved on, as the evolution of this has progressed, The idea of what am I really promoting, what type of story am I really doing, like, what's really going on here? I as time moved on, I wanted to combine more things.
At first, magic motion fun time begun as In animation. Last October, November, I was really inspired by Blender, By the free animation software, it was it's open source and free. And, Blender is just iconic. Like, peep people use Blender. Like, Blender is amazing. And I I fell down this mini rabbit hole just learning about it and Seeing the future with animation in general. And that's the way I think a lot of different movies and shows and not just like big Hollywood stuff. Like, I I feel as though individuals in smaller groups of creatives will be using animation more and more to tell their stories, without the big companies. You know? I I I think the technology of animation is getting cheaper and cheaper, and I saw that with Blender.
But my experience at Blender was not, I mean, it was normal. Like, it was it was a totally new software, and It was about just, like, learning the vocab and learning the layout. And if you were to put me in Blender I mean, if I had a gun to my head, I might be able to make a doughnut in Blender. Maybe. But as time went on, I realized, that I might need more compute. I might need more power, and I'm working on this laptop. I got this 2019 MacBook, and, I wanted things to be, like, really high def, and I wanted things to be, like, really high pixels. And that just wasn't working. And there's a The biggest learning curve with Blender was the math.
You really have to know something about math, or you have to understand space. And that sort of thing is, like, hard for me right now. It's I'm not saying it's something that I'm never going into, but It just didn't pique my interest. I wasn't I wasn't that inspired to learn about, I don't know, just the x axis, the y axis, All these accesses, I don't care. And so, and and while I was Feeling that, that's when AI was coming into play in in the beginning of 2023. And I was like, oh, wow. Maybe I should just go to AI. Maybe AI can actually do the animation for me. And maybe I can cut back and forth between live action and and this and the AI.
And that sort of started, like, the main like, the really strong idea of, like, what this was gonna be about. Because now I'm combining different things. Like, I I I was always thinking about doing it value for value, but now I then I saw This opportunity to to just, like, have it be instant. Like, like, just have it right there. The AI, you know, they advertise it just To be instant. You can do everything right now. And, I went through a journey of that. And I've talked about this. The AI is fun, dude. AI is fun. I'm happy I used it. When you see the film, you know, it's gonna be obvious what the AI images are, And that was a choice.
If you were to go to Twitter right now and just Look up any AI video, anything. You would see a lot of people making trailers. You would see a lot of people making, can you still hear me? Okay. My headphones just died. We're good, though. You would on Twitter, you're gonna see a lot of people just doing, like, little trailers. You're gonna see people just doing, like, little random things with AI. There's a big focus on making it look realistic, Which I understand why they want that. And there's only a few people who are doing anything with or doing much with Animation or just a different style. You know? The majority of people are just just trying to get money on Twitter, And they're just posting random videos that they just slop together, and it's really not worth anything.
And I saw that, and that's what I did not want magic mushroom fun time to be. There's no way that this is just slapped together. It looks the way it looks on purpose. And I use the tool I use these tools in a specific way. And, pretty much the the making of, I was working on the AI images here and there for for, like, a few months, Couple weeks. And I was trying to a lot of this, process has been about discovering what I like. You know? And I think that's what a lot of maybe that's what a lot of movie making is. Just when you're in full control, you know, you can really Explore what you're enjoying and what you're interested in. I'm reminded of the behind the scenes documentaries of the Star Wars prequels with George Lucas walking around the workshop, and he's just picking and choosing the creatures. They have, like, all these clay Molds. Right? And he's, like, picking which one he likes. I like this one. I like this one.
Put this guy's nose on this guy's face. Mix and match this head and body. And he's just, like, picking and choosing what he's liking, what he's enjoying, what's what's speaking to him. And that was the same thing with me and the AI, and I was thankful. And I was, really leaning into a lot of space visuals.
[00:12:22] Unknown:
Now if we're talking about excuse me. If we're talking about magic mushrooms,
[00:12:28] Unknown:
you know, and we're talking about telling a visual story of Being on the experience, space is really not something you see. You know? Space is not something a lot of people ever Talk about. Space is usually discussed with DMT. You know? Space is sometimes referred to with with stronger psychedelics. At least in my experience, I've only done mushrooms. I've never really had any Spatial thoughts. Like, I've never been like, oh my god. I'm in, like, space right now. I'm in the middle of the universe. But I have had visions of lights. I've had visions of, like, a grid of lights somehow.
I'm not sure what the relation to me or, like, the universe is with that, but I've had visions of of light and and grids of light. And, Usually, I get the kaleidoscope. I get the classic kaleidoscope colors and and lights. And and that's always been fun and But I didn't use a lot of those images. I was really just gravitated to like, I want big planets. I want Plasma. I in the AI, I, one of the best videos that I got, which you'll see, one of the best videos I got is, this vortex. For some reason, vortexes were sucking me in, and space images were intriguing me.
And so I I I kept typing in plasma vortex, colorful plasma vortex, And just seeing what it comes out with. On one of my index cards, I drew I I drew a vortex, and that was one of the main One of the main images in my head of, like, okay. We're gonna grab people in. We're gonna suck people into the story. And it sort of evolved into just, like, multiple Shots of the movie. Different vortexes. You know? And what I like to hope and think is that The AI images are a bit interpretive. They're open to human interpretation. There's a lot of this discussion about AI taking over and AI replacement, but how about you just interpret the AI first?
Just interpret what's in front of you, and go into your soul and go into yourself and and discern. In my experience, you know, I'm just not afraid of AI. I'm sure I'll be using more AI images in the future. You know? As AI progresses, there's gonna be AI more like, better AI video, better AI animation. And it will Like, right now, it's like a feature. Right? Right now, it's like a product, but I have a feeling it's gonna become just like water. It's gonna become air. If you have a software that doesn't allow you to just, like, poop out a moving character in 30 seconds, like, Do you really have an animation software?
That's sort of how I see things going. If you're not able to just, like Like, zippity doo da. Like, here's the thing I'm thinking about right now. If you don't have that tool in front of you, why do you not? You know, that's really where I think the AI tools are going. Like, you're going to just have to need it. It's almost like I don't know. It it's the same thing as, like, Adobe or Photoshop or any other, like, creative tool that you absolutely need. You know? It's just going to be everywhere. The AI will be everywhere, And we won't really know.
I was using, this The website runway gen 2. I was using the their model gen 2, and it was, like, $35 a month. I'm gonna stop paying for it because I don't need it. But one of the benefits of this was Experimenting like okay. If I use AI for the movie, how much money does it cost? And I was spending $35 on the video and then another $30 on MidJourney. So let me go on into the workflow of how I actually constructed it. So first of all, I found this song. And the song oh, here's the official song. I've never, I I've never I haven't shared this yet. The official song so this whole thing is, Inspired by Fantasia. Right? I was really inspired by Fantasia and other animation musicals.
And I wanted to just sort of Like, hopefully, I could make it feel something like that. And, that means I needed a a song. I needed music. And I wanted to, like, edit to a song completely. And the entire duration of the short film is the song. And, which is a bit tricky, and, you know, not a lot of people do that. Some some might refer to that as a music video, but, you know, this is a short film. Even though the whole thing's just 1 song, The song is called Yahweh Jaw by homeless Moses. If you haven't heard of that, I think I'm actually gonna play it later. You'll hear it for the 1st time on this episode, and, then you'll be able to see the real the real vision, in the next couple days. So I'll be playing Yahweh Jah at the end of this episode.
It's a 7 minute song, which is one of the fur it was one of the first songs that I discovered homeless Moses with. Adam Curry was playing, He he was playing another song called solution solution revolution, and that's a that's a really good song. And homeless Moses, he he wrote it. He performed it, and it's it's very like punk rock, like nineties, early 2000 Grunge punk. And, you know, homeless moses is just cool. You know? I talked to him a few months ago, and I really vibe to them. And I knew that, like, his music would be good for me. And, yeah, with Yahweh Jah, it's a completely different direction.
[00:18:38] Unknown:
He has, like almost Moses has, like, 2 different vibes. Excuse me.
[00:18:44] Unknown:
Almost sunrise, folks. He has, like, 2 different vibes. He has 1 album that's, like, that's grunge, and then he has another album that's Tribal and ethereal and smart spiritual, I guess. And I lean into that album a bit more. I like both albums, but I just like the drums more. In that interview, he talked about how he learned drums in West Africa. And within Yahweh Jah, the song, the drum is this incredible like, it takes you places. And you also have this combination of the electric guitar with the drum with the West African drum. And, You know, the electric guitar is always associated with America. It's associated with the west. It's associated with, you know, Hollywood almost.
And, it's a very it's a very unique sound, and it's a very unique song. It's moved through me, and I felt a love story within it. I felt it in me, man. That's the best way I can describe it. Like, I just know for I needed to make mushroom magic mushroom fun time with this song. Like, I don't know I don't know how I would have made it without the song. I don't even know where I would be without homeless Moses and without Yahweh Jaw. I didn't discover him until, like, September, and I didn't realize that's the what the song it. That's what the that that that that it's way too early, guys.
I didn't realize that's what That's what this movie needed. And, that goes into me listening to the movie making itself, And it just felt right. And so I followed my instincts. And I started trying to gather AI images Tied to this song, and it really just evolved from there. The next step in the in the creation of this movie was the live action. The live action pieces of, and what you're gonna see Is, me and Shannon. We're just doing a little little cutesy dance. We're just trying to be a little cute couple. Just doing our thing. The whole story is me tripping on mushrooms Rooms in the apartment, and me and Shannon are just having a good time.
I actually have, It's on my phone. I'll play it in a little bit. This is what Magic Mushroom Fun Time is about. Let me go to my voice memos. Where they at? I got another clip. I have I do have another clip to play. So I got 2 clips right now. But this is what so this first clip today, This is what Magic Mushroom Font Time is, like, about. Okay? And this is, this led into this led me With the live action footage, excuse this audio. This is recorded on my headphones, but I think it's actually pretty cool. Official synopsis. Magic Mushroom Fun Time is gonna be about my character taking mushrooms, Dancing and moving through emotions and energy, while seeking a better world, Seeking a more beautiful world, and seeing that world Right in front of him with his girlfriend at the park.
Yeah. So I said at the park. That changed. That plan changed. Classic movie making, whenever you're filming live action stuff, you know, the weather is a thing. And, the original vision was me
[00:22:24] Unknown:
At the park with Shannon, because that's where most of the trips have happened. Sure. Most of the mushrooms
[00:22:32] Unknown:
Were, experienced was the beautiful North Hollywood Recreation Park here in California. And, My cinematographer and I, we actually went to the park, and we were talking about the whole thing. And we were planning out shots, and I was showing him where him and I Where where, Shannon and I had stayed at. And, you know, what's our favorite trees? You know, where do we sit? Look at all the dogs. We gotta get all the life. We gotta record all the life around here, and then it started raining. And that completely just ruined everything. And, I wasn't upset.
And this is all happening this past week. Right? Like, the the the most recent week, This little past week, I filmed the live action stuff for the movie, and the day, like, had to be changed. Like, the original plan Just went out the window completely. And I had to rearrange everything at, like, 7 in the morning before I went off to work. And, it was like, damn. This is nuts.
[00:23:36] Unknown:
But I was happy. With any hiccup that's happened, I'm yawning way too much, guys. Not a good podcast.
[00:23:44] Unknown:
Is that welcome to the yawning podcast. Whenever the plan had to change, I was never upset about it because I just feel like I'm wise enough to know that it's not like, my plan is not going to, like, come come into life the way I think it will. I just know that. I just know it's not gonna not gonna happen. And I think the making of a movie is also a lesson of how to handle life. Just for my own self, just in in a little microcosm of examples, just being comfortable with the plan evolving, being comfortable with Pivoting, being comfortable with just not knowing exactly how it's gonna work out, but Also putting all your effort into moving forward and making sure that it works out.
It's a very It's a very nuanced balance, that happens within yourself. And I would love to talk to other directors to see how they How they feel. I'd love to see how other directors move through that if like, like, how they just personally feel when the plan doesn't go accordingly. Luckily, this time, I just wasn't that stressed because I knew that it was gonna happen, and it's a short film. Like, it's gonna be made in, like, a few hours. That's really what was going on in my head. It's like it's this it's this thing that I want to be as as good as possible, And, but I know it's not gonna take that much time to make, so I just wasn't stressed about time. You know? A lot of people can be stressed about Schedules and stuff like that. And when you're making a bigger movie, of course, you need to be. You need to be on point with the schedule. You need to be prepared with that.
You gotta have everything choreographed and planned out. And for this, I'm just happy to be in a place where I can just see that lesson, and I'm gonna take that lesson. And I'm gonna hold on to it. And when I do something bigger, You know, that will be a principle. At least I want it to be. I wanna remember it as a principle. Just be comfortable with change, man. My mom would tell me when I was younger, Cole, you just gotta be flexible. Cole, You need to be more flexible.
[00:26:05] Unknown:
I don't I am flexible. I play football.
[00:26:08] Unknown:
No, Cole. You need to be flexible with plans changing. Just be all mad at my mom. I don't wanna be flexible. I would always get pissed off at my mom for rearranging the Living room when I was younger. And when I say upset, I really mean, like, I'm like and and this is me, like, Like, middle school, early high school. Like, mom, what are you doing? Why are you moving the the the couch? And I would get all upset at my mom changing the feng shui of the living room, changing the flow of the living space. Literally, like, it I don't wanna describe what she would do, but she would just change things. My mom would always change the living room, And it would it would piss me off.
Piss me off, dude. Like, imagine a pissed off, like, Mean kid. That's that's me to my mom for moving the couches around. Shannon's identified that I might have some OCD tendencies, or I might have some sort of I don't know what tendencies, but, Regardless, I got upset at the couches and the lamps moving their official place. And my whole life, you know, just been a barter a part of the lesson has been learning about Being comfortable with time, being comfortable with, just, you know, just being flexible. Just a plan changing. And I think that goes into my birth. You know? If we could get real with that for a second.
I was 2 weeks late. My my birth was 2 weeks late. So I really think that my relationship with time begun there. Even though I was 2 weeks late, I was also healthy, and I was born on spring break. So is that not a good time to be born? Is that not a good time? Was I not on time? My birthday landed on spring break. Is that not a good time to be alive? And so How that connects with Magic Mushroom Fun Time is me remembering that lesson. Me remembering my mom telling me to be flexible and just be comfortable not being upset. And it's a constant lesson that I need to always remember no matter what the situation is because Whenever the plan needs to change, you know, I can really get upset.
I can really get, You know, just angry. And I can get sad or I can get closed off, and my my family would make fun of me. I I remember there's sometimes when I was a kid and, on Sunday mornings or Sunday afternoons noons after church, My family, we'd always go out to eat. Right? We we always go or we would usually go to some restaurant after church. And, You know, there's always, like, some big fight or an argument about, where are we going? I wanna go here. I wanna go to Olive Garden. I wanna go to Chipotle. I wanna go to Red Robin. I wanna go here here. Whatever. And, it it it would seem as if the family picked the location. Right?
And we'd be driving to the location. And it it always felt like midway through, my mom would say, Oh, let's go to this other place. I really like this other place. Kevin, you wanna go there? My dad would say, oh, yeah. I do like that I do like that restaurant, Carrie.
[00:29:35] Unknown:
And I'd be in the back. No. No. No. No. No. No. We already have the plan. No. No. We already No. Where are we going there?
[00:29:46] Unknown:
And I was just whined like a bitch. And my dad would just be so annoyed. Like, oh, just be just be fine with it. Your mom wants to go to a different place. Who cares? Your mom likes this restaurant. If your mom likes this restaurant, I'm gonna take her there. I'm like, don't take her there. Don't take mom anywhere she wants to go, dad. Oh my goodness. Coli's a weird guy. Guys, Coley is a weird guy, and I just wanted to remember that during the making of this. You know? And I need to constantly remind myself To be comfortable with the plan changing. And making a movie is a physical practice of that.
So If you need to work on something like that, if you need to work on staying close to deadlines, if you need to work on Just committing yourself to a project. You know? Making a little short film is a good thing to to lean into. You know? Don't put too much pressure on yourself, but put enough so that you meet your standard. And I'm happy to say that this magic mushroom fun time is my official, like, 2nd short film. Like, This is when I have like, when I show people my stuff, like, I'm gonna be like, yeah. I made a couple short films. One's called the break in, one's called magic mushroom fun time. Check it out. And I have, like, a story.
And that's really the benefit of having something like this available to myself. Just being able to Put my emotions on screen. Being able to put myself on screen and to be forced to expose how I feel. I didn't even get into the live action stuff. So we were filming so we were filming in my apartment. The plan changed, And now we're in my apartment. And we only filmed for, like, a few hours, and it was very experimental. We had planned out shots at the park, but we had 0 planned shots for the inside. So We had to really just, like, discover that and experiment with that. And and what we got, you know, it's a it's a mix of romance and silly, which is what I like. I like the mix. I like I like to I like to have these combinations of things that might not always be paired up, but are appropriate to be paired up in a certain in a certain light.
So I was happy to bring those to the screen. And Me and Shannon do a little dance, and it's just her and I just hanging out. That that's really all it is. My my friend, who he's he's the cinematographer. He filmed the break in for me. I was able to work with him again. He's phenomenal. Soren Odom, As a cinematographer is one of one of the best people that I know. One of the, like, best creative friends that I have, He really has a natural vision. He has a natural way of just getting a really good image and getting something that doesn't Look bad or amateur?
In my opinion, I think when you were if you were to look around the amateur space and the space. And if you're if you were to just try to discern, like, what looks professional and what looks amateur, Soren, in my opinion, is a guy who can just make something look professional, along with his own style. You know, that's where the real key comes. You gotta have your own style. You gotta have your own little twang, your own little twist. And Soren's twist It's nice. I still can't describe his twist, like his visual twist. You know, it's like, I saw some Spielberg When we made the break in, but I'm also seeing I I I I I really can't describe it, but he he's into He's into some cool stuff. He's into the more natural lighting. He's into interesting, expressive Lighting, and he gets, like, he gets it. Like, I feel like when I speak to him about my ideas, I'm able to explain what I But I'm feeling and he's able like, he has his own genius where he can put that through his little, like, cinematographer box, He's able to, like, come out with a good picture.
And he's also the editor. So shout out to Soren for shooting and editing this movie. I wasn't expecting that. I was just gonna ask him to just edit it because I know that filming something like a week before the release, you know, that's a little intense, no matter what it is. So I just didn't wanna put that pressure on him, but I'm just thankful that he volunteered to do that. It looks like we're getting sun right now, guys. We're getting the sun up in a little bit. It's 638. It's not even 650 yet, but the the sky's getting bright. Thank you, Soren, for editing. Thank you, Soren, for being just a just a good guy who wants to help out making things and You know?
I I listen. He wants me to put it out. He wants me to put this out in, like, a film festival. He wants me to put it out In some sort of venue. He doesn't know, but he just wants it out there. And I hear him, and I'm looking for places. I'm I'm I'm I'm looking for spots. I just don't enjoy being in the film festival realm. I don't like being in those environments because it just feel like, I feel awkward, so maybe that's an insecurity that I just need to get over. I feel awkward when I go to those People like up and coming people showing off their stuff things. Like, I'd rather just post it on the Internet. Maybe that's Lame, but I don't know, man. I'm just like that's why I was so into value for value. I'm like, oh, like, instead of posting it to YouTube where only 500 people will see it, maybe I can post it value for value, and 500 people will see it, and a few might give me some Bitcoin.
Maybe that's the opportunity, and I can I really saw value for value as a model for me to build up my my digital movie collection, my digital films? You know? So we'll see what film festivals come about. I just want it to be good. I want it like, I want it to be a good experience. I don't wanna just be some guy, on the list of movies to show off. You know? Like, I would like to be able to sit down and talk to someone about what the vision was and Just like I'm doing now, but, like, in front of an audience. That would be that would only be the real benefit. The benefit of of Showing your movie to people and the benefit of being in a movie theater.
And the benefit of those film festivals is you're with humans, And you're getting that energy. There is real energy coming to you. There's real energy projecting from the screen, and the audience is authentically reacting. You know? Even though they did pay a ticket, the reaction is always authentic, and the audience always puts the value On the movie. You know, the audience decides what a bad movie is. The audience decides what a cult classic is. You know? No one else. Not the studios, not Hollywood reporter. You know? It's the audience. The audience chooses what the viral video is. This is true.
So I'm gonna give myself that opportunity to see What value the audience has to to reciprocate back in a physical way. And this first This first release is just me doing it digitally, value for value style. And maybe I'll be promoting value for value when I'm at the film festival. So
[00:37:43] Unknown:
We'll see about that. We'll see what comes about with that. With that guys, I don't know what else to talk about. There's
[00:37:55] Unknown:
I talked about the filmmaking, talked about the writing. You know, there was really no writing. I just listened to the song, and I was and I visualized. This is a big visualization exercise. If you wanna practice visualization, practice making a movie. Make a movie. If you see the movie in your head, And then do everything you you can to get that image on the screen. And that is how you manifest. And this is, like, this is an example of my manifestation. I literally have magic motion fun time on my computer sitting in front of It's not fake. It's not, late.
It's real. And so I gotta hold on to to these things like this even though it's not like a romantic manifestation, but it is a real manifestation. I had a goal. I set out to to to make it, and now I have it. And you're about to see it in a in a couple days. I'll be doing a lot more promotion for it on Twitter and Instagram. You know? I'm gonna be doing a lot of different videos for that. I'm gonna be doing a bunch of different reels, And I need to make a trailer. I don't have a trailer for it. Shit. But, I'll I'll get that going. The, what else do we got? What else do we got? I I I need to be promoting it. I need to be speaking with everyone who helped me make it.
So next week, I'm thinking about doing, like, a mashup podcast of me talking to, everyone who helped me make it. I wanna talk to Shannon. I wanna talk to Soren. I wanna talk to homeless Moses. Is that it? Is that everyone who helped me? There's no one else to really talk to. I mean, Kyron, technically, Kyron I'll give Kyron a small split because he he he gave me the information of No agenda tube, so maybe that's worth it. I really don't know what else to say about it, man. Like, it's it I'm happy about it. I'm happy about it. And when I show people it, I'm not gonna be embarrassed. You know? That's that's, like, the biggest thing. I don't wanna be like, I could've done better or something.
I feel like it's good. So we'll see how people react.
[00:40:08] Unknown:
We shall see. We shall see.
[00:40:13] Unknown:
Speaking of value for value folks, what I wanna do now is we're gonna head on into the boosts. Value for value is a, I'm sorry. America Plus is a value for value show. What that means is, I put my time and effort into this thing, and I speak honestly. And I wanna do my best to bring you Positive and innovative narratives, whether that be in the form of commentary on on, on a world topic Or whether that be just bringing you a movie. You know? It's it's one of those things. I like Telling stories. I like talking about narratives. I like talking about lore and stories.
And That's what I try to bring here. And that's the value I try to bring. And it's you have the chance to to really show how how much value you're getting from this show. And there's 3 main ways that that that you can engage with that conversation. There's 3 t's to to to value for value. There's time, talent, and treasure. If you've been following along and you've been and and if you're vaguely aware of Magic Mushroom Fun Time and my journey as an artist and as a filmmaker and podcaster, Podcaster who makes movies. That's who I am. If you're any if you've been familiar with that for any moment in time, you know, that is your time. Thank you for engaging with it. Thank you for just giving some attention with it, you know, and and just just give more attention to this thing. You know? If you think it's worthy, Give more attention to it. I ask you, please, because this is I wanna see this grow. I wanna see this community grow. I wanna hear what you have to say about the movie. Every everyone's a critic, and everyone's an artist.
So I I wanna hear what you have to say and just Thank you for engaging with it for as long as you have, and I wanna encourage you to just engage more. The talent part Of time, talent, and treasure. That's a really big one. I'm trying to share my talents with you right now through this movie. That's value for value. I give my talents to other podcasters as an example. I'm doing voice, voice acting on Tyrone Downs book reviews podcast on the mere mortals book reviews podcast. Go check that out if you wanna hear some talent. You're also able to to share talent. Whatever way that you can whatever talent you have, whether that be in the form of information or in the form of knowledge of movies on the knowledge of having a connection to a human being. You know, these are talents. You know? Just your natural Your natural connection to what you have around you in opening opening up an avenue for me to see that too. That is you sharing your talent.
So let's let's exchange talents, man. Like, don't be afraid to don't be afraid to suggest something. Don't be afraid to suggest a song or suggest your own song. If you wanna promote your music value for value, I play a song at the end of every episode now. And, the the last part of this is One of the most important things. It's treasure. It's money. You're able to support America Plus and and me, through money. There's 2 main ways. It's through, PayPal, if you wanna do normal dollars. Or you can also if you're in a modern podcast app, you're able to send Bitcoin to me. This whole value for value podcasting thing, I'm connected to This incredible this incredible, incredible new model where you can send money directly to people across the world instantly within a podcast app.
And so I wanna encourage you to get a modern podcast app, like, fountain. Go to value for value dot info for more info, Then download the fountain dot f m app. It's the best way to support the show. There's a whole suite of apps that you can choose from, really pretty apps as well, like, just really nice apps to look at. They give you a lot more information, and, that's the benefit of having a modern podcast app. You you get the transcripts. You get, the boost. The the so these are all called boost, like boostagram. Sending in Bitcoin is called a boost. You can comment on the show.
You just get more you just get more access to things. You get more images, like, in the app. I have some I have some Some vague images of what the movie will be. If you've been looking at looking at your modern podcast app screen, you've already been seeing some, Some stills from the movie. And, yeah. Money, man. Bitcoin and and and cash. Cold, hard cash. Send that in. The money goes to me paying for paying for my hosting service. Oh, that's the other thing. My podcast hosting service, That's the other, part of value for value. I'm opening up, an opportunity for you, to to express yourself through a podcast.
I have an affiliate link with Podhome, my hosting company. And what what they do, they they provide you the ability to To post your own podcast and to post your own music via RSS. And why that's important is because you You have the ability to distribute your art that is not controlled by a giant company. That's the benefit of having an RSS feed. That's the benefit of using podcasting technology to distribute your art. That's what you need. And there's an affiliate link down below if you wanna if you wanna express yourself, if you wanna make a podcast, or if you wanna host a music podcast cast like a radio show or if you wanna just post your music. You can do all that in Pod Home.
Pod Home gives you all the all the tags you need. You know? I'm it it's It's really simple process for me to to hook up a song. I really just I search it, and I link it, and then I download it. And that's all I need to do. It's a really simple thing. The organizing the whole podcast in 2 point o and value for value, it's not that difficult. It's a lot of copying and pasting. And so if you're interested in doing a podcast, the value I have to give you is a really good A really good service that I'm using right now. You gotta get the premium option if you wanna if you wanna do it. It's like $16 a month. It benefits me. I get, like, $4 from your purchase, so that's why I'm promoting it.
Wait a minute. I just like podcasting. I spoke to the Creator of Pod home last week, by the way. If you wanna hear that, that's episode 101. I'm gonna be reading the boosts From episode 101. Got a couple here. Let me go to them. Last week was called Barry, founder of Pod Home. And, to be honest, guys, don't have a don't have many boosts. Got some streamers in this past week. I got a few streams. Oh, the biggest stream was Adam Curry, to focus on Adam Curry on value for value, and I'm post first, I'm talking way too early. Joel w always boosts in, And this is just not the time that he boosts sin. So I'm recording this way too early. So, Joel, if you're listening to this and I don't read your thing, it's because it's literally 6:30 in the morning, dude.
Sun's out, guns out. What I got the The only thing I have to share is Adam Curry listened to my podcast last week. He's been listening to my podcast a bit more, recently. It's been really really it's it's it's been a blessing to be totally real with you. He was Streaming in, like, over a 100. Like like, far almost how much was you streaming in, dude? I I wish I could see, like, the streaming. Hang on. Let me let me go to my wallet. I'm so sorry, guys. This is, let me go to the all transactions. See all what I'm trying to see is who was streaming. Income. Income.
Alright. Adam Curry was streaming 4 okay. This is what what's going on. Out of the blue, I see Adam Curry streaming me 506 Sadoshis. Maybe even more. He was sending me more because I have I I I have my wallets, like, split up. So my fountain wallet was getting, like, 70% of it. And 70% of Adam Curry's boost or or streaming money Was 500 sats.
[00:48:48] Unknown:
It's basically you put Bitcoin with anything, and all of a sudden, that is more efficient. Holy Shit. I was freaking out, dude. Adam Curry, literally, 100
[00:48:57] Unknown:
500 sats a minute and listened to most of the interview. He listened to a lot of it. So shout out to Adam Curry for just listening to that. Oh, along with that, I got a clip here from Adam Curry. I I was hoping this would happen. The the only reason Adam Curry listens to America Plus is because I advertise it in the boosts. I don't think he follows the show. Maybe he does. But this clip might give a bit more, clarity on how he views America Plus. And I was just I was this happened This week. This happened this past Friday on his podcasting 2 point o show. He literally talked about me. Check it out.
[00:49:35] Unknown:
Cole McCormick, 7777. Du Fountain, Striper Boost. He says if you want to continue the discussion of the alternate enclosure and what hosting companies can do better at, Check out episode 101 of America Plus, the creator of Podholme. Barry spoke with me about his vision and plan for the company. He's legit. Good podcasting. I heard that interview. Legit. I I listened to that interview. It was great. It was it was also deep about
[00:49:57] Unknown:
about Barry himself and his background and, You know, mushrooms and all kinds of mushrooms. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That was an interesting conversation. That's a that's a pretty fun podcast to listen to. Oh, ain't it? Nothing. Podcast hosting and shrooms. Alright.
[00:50:13] Unknown:
Yeah. We need to get Barry on. Sure. We do. Dude, that was so freaking
[00:50:18] Unknown:
Sick, dude. Adam Curry should have said that, dude. Like, let me just play that one more time for you folks, dude.
[00:50:24] Unknown:
Patient. That's a that's An interesting conversation. That's a that's a pretty fun podcast to listen to.
[00:50:30] Unknown:
That's a pretty fun podcast to listen to, and that's a that's a pretty fun podcast to listen to. Dude, like, how how else am I supposed to move? Like, that like, that's a win. Right, guys? Like, grand applause for me, dude. Like, that's that's insane. That's insane. So I'm just I'm I'm blessed for that. Thank you, Adam Curry, for that shout out. Adam Curry, sir, if you're seen this at all. If anyone around him is listening, just know that you are my podcast mentor from afar, dude. And I listen to you intently, and I compare Myself, like like, you are my standard of excellence. You invented podcasting. God goddamn it. Like, who else who what other standard is there?
And I continue to try to do my best, and this is how I'm trying to innovate myself. I'm trying to run with scissors with my value for value cinema. That's what I'm calling Magic Mushroom Fun Time, v for v cinema. And I wanna see if I can be the filmmaker Within value for value, be a filmmaker within the model or using the model. You know? It's anyone can use value for value. Anyone. Anyone and anyone. Just a few shout outs to a few other people who were, streaming. I think Shannon was streaming. I saw Kyron streaming. Shout out to Kyron. If you boost in, I'm sorry I didn't read your boost this early in the morning.
And then the next one is from Pitar. I got Pitar streaming me some sets. Thank you for thank you, Pitar. That that was coming in. Oh, he was streaming me for the mere mortals book review. Sick, dude. Thank you, Pitar. Yeah, man. Just a good time. Just a good time with all this value for value stuff. We'll see how it grow goes and grows. I wish I had I wish I had, like, boost to to share. And I'm sure there will be boost. Maybe I gotta, like, insert that later. I I think I'm gonna post this, like, as soon as possible, honestly. I don't wanna wait till 4 or something. I have work today. Did I mention that? I literally have work at 9 o'clock today on Christmas Eve, 9 to 430.
Great. Right? So we'll see how that goes. I'm ready for a good day in the kitchen. I'm happy I was able to record this right now. Let me just play a few little things. Boosting is loving. Guys, That's real shit.
[00:52:53] Unknown:
And now as the French say, it is time for le boost.
[00:52:59] Unknown:
Remember to boost in, dude. I need you to boost into the show and give me some of your talent. Give me some of the value. Send in the value that you have right now, people, because that's how this thing grows. That's the only way America Plus grows is if you Choose to share the value. Okay? That that's all what's going on here. There's, like, the talk of this, like, podcasting winter, Donation winter, I'm really not worried about it. What I'm trying to do is just focus on my on the quality of my podcast. The quality of my art.
I I remember reading an interview, with, The director of the newest Mission Impossible movie, and he was telling the story of he was watching, Oppenheimer, he was with Tom Cruise, and they were both watching Oppenheimer in in the movie theater. And within the world of movies, Oppenheimer, like, just broke a bunch a bunch of rules. Right? Oppenheimer, you got this 3 hour War drama. Half of it is in black and white. There's now no really action. No real action at all. And the and and this movie makes $1,000,000,000. And, I was reading this interview with the director of Mission Impossible and Tom Cruise. And When they were watching it, they there's a moment where where they say that they turn to each other after it, and they and and and they say to each other, It's just about quality.
It's just about quality. You know? People in Hollywood might say, Oppenheimer wouldn't make any money. You know? But how good can you make it? You know? And and Oppenheimer is that example of of a filmmaker, going into a topic that might not be heavily explored and making it interesting enough for people to want to see it. And, That's magic mushrooms, fun time is a stepping stone of me doing similar. That's the best way that I can describe what I wanna do, man. I just wanna make interesting things, and I wanna make quality things. It's about quality.
And for the podcast, I wanna make sure that I'm just bringing bringing the quality. And I've already talked about how next year, I'm focusing more on more conversations Like last week, I'm talking to more people using value for value. I'm talking to musicians. I'm talking to more people who are just Seeing a better world. I just wanna talk to positive people. People who are, like, innovating. People who are a part of an innovation. You know? And that's all happening. It's all forming. So, Adam Curry, if you're listening to this, know that the podcast is just getting better and better, and I hope that you boost in more. So thank you for your sats. Thank you to everyone who wanted to send in some Satoshis. I really appreciate it. I made, over, like, 6,000 sats this week, which is really cool. Really cool to say. Most of that was from Adam Curry. Thank you. Thank you, Curry. Thank you for the shout out too.
Okay. The song. The song. The song. The song. The song. The song. The song. Let me go to the song. Folks, what we got here now, We have Yahweh Jah from homeless Moses. Let me go to wave lake. You know, I should've downloaded it before I had it. That's just me not being prepared, I guess. But I have it right here. Let me go to my history. Do you like that sound?

What I wanna talk about this week, the next 2 weeks, we are just Focusing in on magic mushroom fun time, my short film. I got work today. It's Christmas Eve, by the way.
