The story unfolds with the discovery of an ancient alien spacecraft on the moon, revealing mummified extraterrestrial bodies and a mysterious black crystal statue. Professor Victor Conrad and his team transport the statue to Lunar Base 12, but a series of catastrophic events ensue, including a shuttle accident and the destruction of the base. As tensions rise, the crew at StarLab faces a confrontation with the alien Trell ship, led by Stygos, who demands the return of the statue, known as Gnarl.
